y'all feeling all right today? I'mstormy up in here. It's Friday,
April twenty sixth, and I hopeyou have a fabulous weekend. Trying
to find out what y'all doing thisweekend. We had a lot to do
in Memphis last weekend, and we'reprobably gonna have a lot to do this

(03:05):
weekend in Memphis as well. Yeah, not on one five three five nine
three four to two. That isone of the numbers to call in.
Let me give you the other ones. Eight hundred five zero three ninety three
four two eight three three five threefive nine three four to two. Yeah,
come on in here, Come onin. You guys are probably seeing

(03:25):
the news like me. We gotwe got some things to talk about today.
And I let me tell y'all,I'm sorry by yesterday. I know
yesterday. I don't know what happenedup here. It was it was stuff
going on up in there. Idon't think people understand how hard it is
to do a show and you're tryingto keep your mind on one thing,
but you got other things going on. It's difficult. It's difficult. It

(03:49):
ain't for a week, baby,it's not. And sometimes it ain't for
the strong, because Lord I was, I was, Yeah, it was,
it was yeah, But it's ithappens. It happens. But we're
good today. I believe we're good. Good you there, you're there.
Okay, y'all, come on inhere, Come on in the room.
Get ready to pick up the phonecalled phone so we can talk. We
get we got a lot to talkabout. You probably saw the news Tennessee

(04:10):
Governor Bill Lee sign that bill intolaw. It's a done deal. Yep.
They're just posting it on social media. He did it. The law
goes in immediately, immediately goes intoeffect. Your teachers at just child school,
your grandchildren's school may be backing asa kid say yeah. It goes

(04:36):
into effect immediately. Parents and mostschool staff will not be told who in
the school has a weapon or whereit might be stored. There are no
safe storage requirements in this bill, and House Republicans in late April voted down
a Democratic effort to, you know, modify that bill. They said,

(05:00):
well, no, we don't wantit. And a lot of people don't
want this thing, but they it'shere, Tennessee, it's here. It's
here. Okay. So I gota question, WG I a listeners,
would you rather have that bill oror this one right here? I just

(05:21):
saw this, y'all in Mississippi, and I'm not surprised. I just saw
the story and I'm looking forward again. I'm gonna tell you what it is.
Just give me a second because Iwon't find it. I just I'm
not surprised. I'm not surprised aboutthis in Mississippi, y'all. Ever heard

(05:47):
of Confederate Appreciation Month? You everheard that? It looks like it may
be a new thing. It wasactually was declared last month, and it

(06:08):
looks like the month of April,so maybe it isn't a new thing.
So April fifteenth, the governor inMississippi, Tate Reeves, declared April the
month of April. Oh good thing, April is almost over as a Confederate

(06:29):
heritage month. They don't want usto talk about black history, but you
got Confedatorate Heterritage month? Is it? Me? I think it's a shame
how in a lot of states andeven in schools, they're they're modifying what
your child can be taught as faras black history is concerned. Did you

(06:53):
believe that? I can't. It'sand now the whole month April Confederate heritage
a mom and I'm just how youhow you gonna celebrate? Seriously, tell

(07:14):
what is going on. We gotsome good news though for the University of
Arkansas Pine Bluff. Good news forthem, Uh, they've got a new
head coach, West Memphis head coach. Uh. She's a former West Memphis
head coach, Erica Leak. She'sbeen hired to lead down at U a
p B. Congratulations to her,and I'm sure that's that's really good news

(07:39):
to a lot of folks that arehappy to hear about that. Yeah,
she's gonna be leading U A pB. The former West Memphis head coach,
Erica Leak is now at U ap B. A lot of people
in Memphis are are excited because they'vegone to U A p B. They
you know, used to go toschool there, and now UAPB is playing

(08:01):
for the Southern Heritage Classics. Sothe big game this September, it's UAPB
versus Tennessee State University. So yeah, UAPB getting off in there. And
you know, it's interesting what's happeningon a lot of college campuses. And
I'm wondering if some of the thingsthat have happened on other college campuses are

(08:24):
happening right here in Memphis. Ihaven't heard a whole lot about some of
these things. But the University ofSouthern California, they announced that they're going
to cancel their primary May commencement ceremony. And this comes after drama surrounding the
ceremony that began last week, afteryou know it informed valedictorian, the valedictorian

(08:46):
who had been opposed by pro Israeligroups she would not deliver the traditional speech
at any rate. There have beenprotests all over the country on these college
campuses, all over the country. And so now you've got protests happening so

(09:09):
much so that they're canceling commissiment addresses. Yeah, so that's something that's happening
on college campuses. I don't knowthey we're talking about crime going up on
college campuses, and it just itseems like everything that happens now is it
just me? It's like everybody wantsyou to be afraid. Everybody wants you

(09:30):
to be Oh, you got tobe so afraid. You got to be
so afraid. And I understand acertain amount of fear, you know what
I'm saying, But when you getto the when you go when can we
not be afraid? Everybody wants youto be in fear. The statistics always,
Oh my goodness, you know whatI'm saying, even when it comes

(09:56):
to I mean, it's like everywhere, it's everything now, I might not
want to live my life in fearlike that. And one of the reasons
why, well, I don't wantto live my life in fear because I
know fear is stressful. Number one, it'll kill you. At some point,
you got to figure out a way. You may not like it,

(10:18):
you may not want to do it, or you may want to do it.
I don't know. At some point, you got to figure out a
way to be happy man, toget get some kind of peace in your
life. What do you do foryourself to not be so afraid? And
why Are you trying to make everybodyelse scared? Do we really? Do
we? Seriously? I mean,I mean everybody's afraid of everything, and

(10:45):
I mean everybody on both sides ofthe political spectrum. Democrats are afraid the
Republicans are going to get a upperhand. The Republicans are afraid the Democrats
gonna get up ahead. And it'sjust a whole lot of fear going around,
y'all. I I told myself,I said, look, I gotta
I gotta do some better self uhself care because I'm telling you it's it's

(11:05):
it's so much negative news and somany negative nancies if you don't find yourself
an escape. That's why I'm sohappy that we we have opportunities on this
radio station to give you guys giftsLike Mother's Day, I'm gonna be giving
Mama's Let me tell you something.I got some good stuff for you next
week. You hear some good selfcare stuff because you need to distress.

(11:33):
I'm curious are y'all doing anything todistress? Are you doing? Do you
ever get away from the negative news? Do you ever find time to take
care of your head space? Doyou ever find time to do that?
I'm just asking y'all tell me,y'all, call me, tell me how

(11:54):
y'all, how you're feeling. Andthen I saw this on Tammer and Hall's
Share, and I've I've been noticingthe trend here in Memphis and in other
places, probably in other places morethan in Memphis. Now, when you
go get a you know, gobuy something at a store, you go
get a drink, and they askedyou first how much you want to tip?

(12:20):
I don't know about job, butthat kind of stresses me out too,
Like as soon as I get upthere, we want to know if
you want to tip first? Youknow, how am I give me my
bill first? But yeah, it'sa thing. So I was watching the
tammeron Hall show and I saw thishow tips have really really really gotten up

(12:41):
there. Listen to this if youcan hear listen. Job I've ever had
in my life, I was awaitress for fourteen days. I quit because
I couldn't take it. I couldnot. It is a hard job.
I don't think you're talking about obviously, when you have a server and they're
waiting and they're hustling and they're working, talking about when you walk up you're

(13:01):
doing everything and you're asked for this. Is that what you're talking about?
Yeah, you were fired up inthat video. I was. I feel
like, if you're doing service jobone hundred percent, you deserve to be
tipped. I sat down. Icame there for the service, right.
But I went to a cafe inBrooklyn, a coffee shop. It wasn't
even to see a cafe, andthe options in front of me were twenty
ninety ninety nine percent tip. Isthat legal? It shouldn't be. I've

(13:26):
never heard of forty nine percent?Yeah, And like I feel like I'll
tip a dollar yeah on a cupby well, a dollar is a lot
depending on the price of the cup. Right. I want? Everything right
now? Is extra expensive? Right? It really is when you go to
the restaurant. I mean you gotnow. Restaurants are charging surcharges. Like
to call Riverside Restaurant in Georgia. They added a fifty dollars surcharge to a

(13:52):
family to their bill last week becausetheir kids were too loud? Can you
believe that? Can you believe that? How y'all feeling about it now?
I'm I'm one of those people thatyou know, I want to tip anyway,
But when it comes to it,and some things I'm not I haven't

(14:16):
you know, I'm not. I'mnot the best tipper. If if you're
charging me something that's that's ninety dollars, one hundred dollars already, I'm you
know, it's like, shoot,I'm trying to make ends meet, just
like everybody else. So I maynot, you know, drop it off
like that, because because I'm watchingmy bills just like everybody else is watching
theirs. When you walk in thedoor, though, oh my goodness,

(14:41):
you walk in the door and thetip is like, they don't they don't
wait to serve you. They justtell you what the tip is. They
tell you what the tip is Athree three five three five ninety three four
two. And I do understand whenit comes to businesses, it's tough.
It's it's tough being in business. It really is. It's not. It
ain't for the fain at heart. And I'm telling you because I know because

(15:01):
I got a little business myself.I know it ain't easy. It ain't
easy. It really ain't, y'all. But let me see before let me
get to the phone line. Seewhat y'all talking about? W D I
A Hello, yestarmy, greating, grating Marcus, how you doing, I'm
doing great. So if you goto the restaurant, you go to the

(15:26):
you know, the bar, orwhatever you're doing you're doing, tell them
you're gonna keep them sufficiently. Theymay, you know, do something to
your drink food. You know what. I thought about that too. I
thought about that too. Hey,our work to not kitch in starmy.
I tell you what, man,Yeah, that things you know, you

(15:50):
know, when you go and foodthe window our drives through or whatever,
be nice to do worse people,Yes, see them before handling your food.
Okay. And I've seen these peopledo some stuff there. You know.
Look, I don't really mess aroundwith them places anyway. I cook

(16:10):
my own food. You know whatI'm saying. I want to know what
is going in your stomach, youknow. So the word fear is an
acronymen of fars evidence appearing real.So these people are trying to blow for
us, you know, especially blackfolks. See it's all psychologically, it's
a psych are what they're doing. They're trying to hold on. They're trying

(16:36):
to keep black folks in their place, stay in the place. But them
days overstarby them. Days are over? Okay? You know, ah,
you see what you're doing down inMISSISSIRAPIAA look, you know what I'm saying.
What surprises me is just how wereact. You know. Look them

(16:59):
for ain't gonna change Stammy. They'vebeen like that for the last five hundred
years. They that's how they stainpower, you see. But it's all
bluff. You say, we ain'tyou know, we ain't got no change
in us no more. The changeis in my mind and in our pocket
books. You're gonna do some selfcare this weekend. We'll do self care.

(17:26):
Hey. The first thiel that totake care of is your mind,
yes, because if that goes, everything goes. If you lose your mind,
you'll finish. Yeah, And that'swhat America is about, driving you
crazy, Yeah, crazy black folks. So they're walking in the street,

(17:47):
and especially women too. You know, there was a time you wouldn't see
a lot of black women walk inthe street pushing carts and stuff like that.
It's all about the mind. Youtake your stuff. You two w
d I A hello, came finny, how you doing a jay? I'm
good? How are you? I'mfine? I had to say this because

(18:10):
you are telling the truth. We'vebeen in Chicago for in and out a
little bit, and they charged stuff. We spent like four hundred and some
dollars at a table. What andyes, and our tips that was for
your food. The four hundred wasfor your food, okay, for the
food okay. But they put withtorty on the receipts and we didn't even

(18:32):
know it, but yet we leftfifty dollars, came back and she was
like, y'all only fifty dollars atthe game. My daughter tuched around and
looked at her receiving. She waslike, wait a minute, y'all talk
is with torgy, but you're gonnacome back and say, y'all only fifty
dollars. And then here in Milkis, we went to a restaurant I want

(18:55):
to call the name because I lovethe food. I'm like market and we
sat down. It takes the allday to bring back twenty something dollars out
of one hundred dollar bill, andyou constantly sitting there saying, we waiting,
we waiting to set there forty fiveminutes. And we told the restaurant
man, we've been send here forforty five minutes and were waiting on twenty
something dollars. What's taking so long? But the girl came back said,

(19:19):
oh, I thought you now youthought we left and we kept our well
okay, storm Storm, But yeah, with the stress thing, I understand
about a lot of moms being stressed, a lot of people period being stressed
over candidates running for presidents and everything. But you do I've learned. I
come in my little closet, playmy music, listen the rider. You

(19:41):
do have to sit down and stopbeing afraid of the world. It's not
it's not gonna help Stormy. Butyeah, stay prapper. Uh huh,
you had you see somewhere? Okay, do I hope we do see each
other? I might yet. Ohyeah, that's gonna be all right you

(20:06):
too, Bye bye. Yeah.I think you know sometimes when it comes
to uh, you know, takingsome time out for yourself and not stressing
about stuff because we get so somuch information. And I'm gonna tell you
something I do too, because notonly do I get it, people send
me information and and and you know, it's it's it's a lot coming in

(20:29):
and so when you're overloaded like that, and if you've got a cell phone.
If you follow uh the commercial appeal, which I do, and a
lot of other you know, uhmagazine subscriptions on your cell phone. They
give you updates and you look atyour phone and you're like, oh,
my goodness. Every time somebody die, they're telling you. Every time something
bad happens in the world, they'retelling you sometimes you need to unplug.

(20:56):
W D I A Hello, howyou doing? Hey, I'm good.
How are you? Queen? Iam wonderful, you know, and I
know you wonderful. You just soundingso good today every day on the song

(21:18):
so much, Queen. I appreciateyou. You wel uh. You know.
Black history, it's amazing how theyyou know, they're trying to stop
it now. But way back inthe day, back in the sixties,
we was never we was never taughtblack history. They didn't allow that in
our school the black schools, theydidn't allow us. We didn't know,

(21:41):
we didn't know anything about black history. They they taught us a lot about
white history. So it just makesme think fact that that's what they're trying
to do. Now, take itback, take it back, but did
you hear did you hear about theseven year old that was caught with a
gun today at school. Seven yearold cop with a gun a loaded gun

(22:02):
in his backpack at an elementary schoolin Parkway Village, y'all, just before
nine am on today. They respondedto Evans Elementary School, forty ninety nine
Cottonwood Road, recarded regarding that incident, seven year old boy in possession.
Yes, yes, ma'am, I'vea loaded handgun, Yes, ma'am.

(22:25):
I just don't know what's happening tommyand being scary. I am not scared
because I look at it like thisyear. Whenever the Lord gets ready to
take me, he's gonna take me, whether I'm scared or not. So
when I get up in the morningtime, I just say thank the Lord for
letting me see this day and coverme in the blood of Jesus. I'm
out here now, you know, because I'm not gonna let these people scare

(22:48):
me or I can't go anywhere.I know where to go, you know,
and know when or not to go. I just don't take this.
I just won't go to areas whereI know his trouble, yeah, you
know, And I just don't dothat. I go out and take care
of my business and come on backhome. Yeah, you know, but
what you say every time you turnthe news on, they got a lot
of negative stuff, you know,so I don't look at all that negative

(23:10):
stuff. So anyway, starting, thank you honey for taking my call and
let me get off here with somebodyelse can talk you. I love you
too, and you have a beautifulweekend. Thank you you too. Yeah,
all right, bye bye. Yeah. I'm hoping y'all get some self
care in this weekend because we needus some self care around here. W

(23:30):
d I a hello, Hello,Hello, You're getting some self carry in
this weekend? Yeah, this brotherhome, brother Omar, Yeah, you
are to hear you. Hey,let me tell you I ain't no you
know, so say ain't no stoppingus. Now there's a great insub talking
about a Confederate Uh uh day theylost the damn once sister, What mold

(23:56):
do they want? We ain't goingback watching my brother Omar? Now your
mom. Well, you know Iget mad sometimes because I was in the
civil rights movement along with uh sweetwoodn't line yahway, anyway, it stirs
me up with a hit like that. A Confederate day that is a month,

(24:18):
this a whole month. Confederate heritagemonth in Mississippi. Those devils lost
the war. We ain't going back. Like that said, we ain't going
back, and we ain't going back. I ain't going back. Thank you
for that reminder, brother Omar. We're not them devil ain't gonna take us
back, all right, brother omaar, that's what I'm talking about.

(24:41):
We ain't going back, you know, seriously, though, sometimes you got
to when it comes to uh,your mental health, and and even when
you when it's something that you wantin your life, I don't. I've
been practicing some things for a verylong time, you know, and all
of us you know, uh weman. You think you're going through something,

(25:02):
you find out somebody else going throughsomething too, And nobody ain't.
Nobody gonna escape trouble, not aone of us. You can't do it.
You can't escape problems. You can't. And I think that's something we
don't tell our kids enough. Wedon't tell them trouble is gonna come.

(25:22):
They think everything's gonna be coming uproses because that's what we want it to
be. But it's not. Youmight be at home with your mama for
a while and things are wonderful. When you were a kid, at least
they worried when I was out therehunting. In my mind, everything was
perfect, even though I had mylittle issues when I was growing up.
But I ain't have to pay nobills and stuff like that. I started

(25:45):
growing up, they had to startpaying some bills. I was like,
oh lord, my mama didn't tellme about this, She just got to
keep me from it. I guessI don't know. I mean, I
knew they were coming, you know, days like that were gonna come.
And I had some ooh, Ithink like anybody, and I think I
now. I tried to with mykids. I tried to, you know,

(26:07):
prepare them for life's challenges and changes. I did my best best in
my house to try to do that. And I wish you know, ain't
no what wishing you. You arewhere you are in life. So the
biggest question you got to ask yourselfnow that I'm where I am, what

(26:30):
am I gonna do with what Igot? Now? I see you guys
on hold hang on for me andyou can call in if you want to.
Nine O one five three, five, nine three four two eight hundred

(26:53):
dot com so you can win onethousand dollars. Your keyword for this hour
is bills b I L L.And we're back ten seven DDA on this
friyay. Talking about a lot ofstuff up in here. And I hope

(27:14):
you are having yourself a fabulous Friday. I really do hope you get in
some self care. I mean,I really do hope you do something for
yourself this weekend, because sometimes, you know, people make you think that
self care is expensive. You gottago spend money you ain't got to do
and don't spending no money. Theother day, I'm gonna tell you what
I did. I sat in theparking lot. I just sat in the
parking lot, just sat in theparking lot doing nothing. Well really,

(27:42):
I mean, I was on mycell phone, but I have my music
going, and I just sat thereand it just felt so good not to
be rushed, because sometimes I feellike I'm rushing here and I'm rushing there.
I gotta go do this. Igotta go do that, and I
do. I do have a lotof stuff I gotta do. But it
felt good for those few moments tojust sit still and do absolutely nothing.

(28:07):
Felt real good. W D IA l o. Hey, how you
doing? Hey? I'm good? How are you all right? Just study
is from os now? Hey daddy, Hey, how are you doing that?
Would like to year shout out tomy friend Killing Payne and my son

(28:32):

Uh huh. I started to draftback, you know, let them shoot
all they want over there, theyshoot, bega, I thank you to
slow it down. Don't look Istopped it. Stop start what back draft?
Oh? The draft? Yeah yeah. But in a way I listened

(28:52):
to w D A in in Hawaiiand this every day. Oh thank you
that is and you know what what, everything went perfect. Wouldn't have nothing
to prayer? Come on here?Yeah, okay, thank you. Have

(29:36):

hey, let me let me getoff the subject. Father. Let me
tell you something. Them socks, them socks, you gave me the bomb.
I've been wearing them. Thank you. Hey. Look another thing too,

(30:03):
baby girl. It's very important totalk about, is uh? All
these that on Bell show was somethingI told unfriendly people of really deep bringing
back is you're a friend of meor a friend? And I got some
folks. I'm serious, I'm thefire with every fact to name with all
these folks, and uh, Igot one old boy he uh. I

(30:26):
sent him to the store and Ibought him something and I wanted my change
back and I asked about my changetoo much, and he didn't like to.
He threatened to take a gun andshoot me in my head. For
asking requesting my change back. Yeah, you got this count of people out
here, girl, And look, wait a minute, is this something you
said? That's somebody you call afriend. I don't know if I would

(30:48):
call that person a friend father withall that, but he just showed his
real colors, you know what Imean? Dadd I mean dad, and
come to fan out that. Yeswhat he didn't want that? Uh?
I said, a emergency over therebecause he had failed dead over there on
their pend off, and I justwanted to send there with him for he

(31:08):
gonna. I done proudly saved yourlife and now you want to come back
for nothing, And then threatened totake man's that's just something conditions about people.

My mama in Dallas, she tookher car. She had a Cadillac,
and the Cadillac that she had hadan engine in it that was rare.
From what she told me. Thisis what she told me. This was
a nice cadillact. Y'all hear mewhen I tell you. It was in

(33:07):
about twenty something twenty nineteen twenty twenty. Something like that happened a few years
ago. She went to a shadeTree mechanic. Do you know he took
her whole engine out of her Cadillac, put it in another vehicle, and
put another engine in her car inher Cadillac. So when she got the

(33:31):
Cadillac back right, she was like, what the world? Because it wasn't
driving the same anymore. So shesaid, you know, she went through
him. She's an older woman. She went to him, told him,
you know, what was going onwith the car and stuff like that.
He says, nothing going on.Your car's come to find out. She
found out because she took the carsomewhere else that her engine, her whole

(33:52):
engine is gone, you know, took the engine out. The car got
so bad she had to take thatman in the court. She ended up
winning. But I think it's sadwhat some people try to do to older
people. You're gonna get back whatyou gave. You're gonna get it back.

(34:13):
He ended up paying money, havingto pay her money. But it's

Can we have one day with noballance? Have a good weekend?
Lady? All right you too, lady d bring it on home. W
D I A hello? Hey,hey, that beautiful for me very quickly

(38:43):
on the Confederate month, Uh huh. So well, one thing is they're
trying to like fear all of allof it is about fear and things that
you know we should and should notsee it. One thing that can James,
the White King James put in theBible it's a fear God. But

(39:04):
someone who loves you, like yourmother, they don't want you to fear
them. They want you to takethem seriously when they say, hey,
you know, clean up your ownThey want you to take them seriously.
But they don't. Nobody, nobodythat loves you, wants you to fear
them, and so and so.The thing is God has said he's not
out of fear. And the thingthat tries to scare you, God says,

(39:25):
hey, I am your refuge,I'm your high tower, I'm your
heads around you, I'm your strength. They can't get to you in a
weapon that they have. Won't harmyou. Don't worry about them. I
will take care of you, sothere is nothing to fear. Taking stuff.
Seriously, Yeah, be cautious, heav your insurance, you know,
lock your door, but don't fear. Do not fear anything or anybody.

(39:50):
Thank you, jar me, Loveyou, love you too, Love you
too. Yeah, perfect love, cast out fearf love. That's what we
don't have enough in this world. We don't have enough love. And I
don't mean that kind of love fellas. I was just kidding, because women
be thinking like that too. Ourminds go to the gutter sometimes too.

(40:15):
But no, seriously, perfect love. Just learning how to love people.
And I don't understand why people getupset when they see men hugging other men
or are expressing some kind of joyand excitement to see another man. I
don't get it, because women wedo it all the time. What's wrong
with the fellas doing first? Assoon as we see it, we gotta

(40:35):
say, oh, something wrong withthem. No, it's healthy. What's
happened is we let these TVs andwe let other folks tell us what love
is. And the healthy kind oflove is if you love your son like
the man that just call that is. I think it was that it's called

(40:57):
talking about his son. I don'tknow if it was that is or not.
But at any rate, the manwho just called showing love to his
son because it's his birthday, sure, come on here. It's a good
thing when you love your son, your child, and you showing love to
him, it's a beautiful thing.W D I a hello, Hello,
Hey, how you doing. I'mblessed, I'm chaplain coming to burn the

(41:25):
form war for Shervery County and Ithe first thing I wanted to do is
think realside Baptist Church sponsorle be Iyou know all our people who trying to
be trying to get disability and thosekinds of things. And to two days

(41:46):
u Thursday was locked up. Imean hundreds and hundreds of people. Some
came in the middle of the nightand the capitals are trying to get there.
The reason they had it here isbecause it was seen these said,
their discrepancy among the African Americans whoawarded disability and other people. And sometime

(42:07):
they can't because they can't get tothe places. But we've been pushing that
for years and I just wanted todo that. And then during school in
nineteen fifty four, when the thirdGood Marshall in the nw CP wanted the
the segregation things it the principals throughoutthe black schools, that was a limit.

(42:32):
I mean, because they knew whatwas going to happen. He said.
They wasn't. I heard someone oncesay a while ago, they wasn't
teaching system. We were something thatwas their black history, all old man.
Now, so books, she wasn'tMeryl's habit and Indugness and Penserdonian,
these both were around. Maybe theywouldn't where it was officials wore to teach

(42:57):
it. But if they're the bookling that, well maybe you might look
at that and take some of yourfriends of y'all walk home. But the
art of was walked to school wasn'tin the busy. And so we had
round robb and from Manassas to mystreet and the other. I'm sure Book
G. Watson had to foot onall and the other thing. They all
did the same thing. The reasonsI know we were good because I never
heard that was news to me whenthe first grader could not read it right,

(43:22):
I never heard of them first gradecouldn't read the right when I came
through Manassas went from the first gradewas the truth grade in those days.
A lot of others had day Well, I wanted to know that because that's
a lie. And we broke. But they carried the color barrier. The
military was just integrating a lot ofjobs. Then I'm an engineer and a

(43:44):
lot of electronics and those kinds ofthings. But we look in history we
find out there's a lot of thosethings already invented by black people throughout the
year anyway, So it was anatural fish bus going on because we had
already read about it in school todo it. M h, not crool
like I went through the race fadI did twent you not crew like parting

(44:07):
people part of you know men onthe three we have black and I was
one of the trade. Wow,And I hate to cut you off,
but I got to get out ofhere. But thank you for that history
lesson. I appreciate you. Thankyou so much. All right, have
a good one. All right,Yeah, that's gonna do it for today.
My let me see if I could, if I could just tell you

(44:28):
anything today, I just want youto get some self care, do something
for yourself, do something to takeyour mind off the stress and the trouble
of this world. Do you gonnahave trouble with you? Jesus told us
trouble gonna be with you always. But I believe if we lean on him
and it's just me, you're gonnabe all right. At least get your

(44:52):
mind off of it, you know, try not to stress so much.
Put your mind on something positive ifyou can. We still got to fight
that fight. Though, we stillgot to fight that fight. We still
got to get in there and prayfor these young people and do what we
can to help these young people. And I'm still waiting on some of y'all

(45:12):
to call me and tell me youwant to go to these schools and tutor
these kids, because we tutoring kids. You're here. Once a week,
I go to the school and Itutor these kids and try to help them
some of them are smarter than Ithink that they are, and are smarter
than they think they are. Andit's just a blessing to be able to
give back to the community like that. Get in now, get in the

(45:36):
fight if you really want to seea change, and you're never too old
to do that. Just FYI,you're never too old. Just f why
never too young either. But yeah, thank y'all for hanging out with me.
I'm here till seven o'clock, sodon't move. We got a lot
more to talk about. Keep thatradio on ten seven d w D A
