on the Free I Heard Radio appfor all your music radio and podcasts.
Free Never sounded so good. Yeah, with a hard and soul of Memphis.
Ten seventy w d I A MemphisStormy Compensations, stormy conversations. You

(00:30):
say, after the stormy conversations,God speak your mind, speaking mind,
guys, something the same, doubt, it's the time. It's the time.
We can talk about any situation, situation, good and the best,
stormy compensations, stormy conversations, stormycolosations. You can talk about any situation,

(00:56):
the good and the best, stormyconversations. What's really going on?
What y'all doing, y'all? Allright, how y'all doing today? It's
May first? Can you believe it? O? M G. Y'all,
we are almost at the half pointof twenty twenty four. Does it seem
like that to you? It seemslike the year just kicked off, y'all.

(01:19):
It just kicked seems like it.Maybe it's me, probably is probably
is all right, y'all. It'sa lot going on, catching up with
things that's happening in Colombia, orin New York at Columbia University with the

(01:40):
protesters. They got a situation goingon there. You know, we have
to remember in America, you dohave the right to protest, and people
they're they're doing it definitely, ButI don't know if you cha, I
don't know if you supposed to bejust getting up in folks buildings like this.
I mean, this was a tensesituation they had going down there in

(02:02):
the New York Mayor. He wason Good Well, CBS Mornings, Yeah,
CBS News, CBS Mornings, andhe had a few things to say
about the protest, and you knowhow they're handling that situation. Well,
there were two operations tonight. Onewas with Keuney and one was with Columbia

(02:23):
University. And once I became awareof the outside agitators who were part of
this operation, as Columbia mentioned intheir letter and their requests with the New
York City Police Department, it wasclear we had to take appropriate actions of
When our intelligence division identified those whoare professionals, well trained, one of

(02:49):
them was married to someone that wasarrested for terrorism, we knew these children
were being exploited and they were indanger and would have been irresponsible not to
reply to requests from Columbia University.Wow, I hear they get cleared out
the campus and this is the secondtime they've been called in a couple of
weeks. And he was asked, you know about having the police come in
the way they did. Y'all seenthe probably the videos on social media or

(03:14):
on TV. It's been on thenews. They've been talking about it,
the whole situation in Columbia. Whatdo y'all think you agree or disagree with
how the mayor is handling A lotof folks are saying, good job,
you gotta do something. It's just, man, we live in such tense
times, tense times in America, ten times in the world, and when

(03:37):
you hear stories like that, youjust kind of your heart. Yeah,
tense times in America. A lotof folks in Memphis are like, that's
what they need to do here, bring to bring the gods in here because
the stuff going on. You know, these young people seem to be wilding
out. One of our listeners sentme a video that was posted on social

(03:59):
media, and in the video,y'all there were young kids. They were
like thirteen, fourteen, maybe fifteen, sixteen years of age. It was
three of them with their faces coveredtalking about what they were going to do,
and they had guns. Yeah. Now they said the video was in

(04:23):
Memphis. I don't know. Iwasn't there, but then I think they
did mention, you know, ourax the kids where they were from.
It was Memphis. It's just heartbreakingto see stuff like that when you see
it, no matter whether it's somewhereelse or whether it's here at home.
When we see things happening across thecountry, it makes us think about the

(04:45):
things that's happening at home, youknow, the things that we are going
through here in Memphis. Last night, Mayor Paul Young had his One Memphis
stop in Orange Mount. I'll letyou guys hear a little bit of what
was going on last night live.As it was going on, he and
Chief C. J. Davis werethere talking to the community and folks that
came out. People were out, they came out, they had questions,

(05:08):
they had things to say, AndI'm just curious what you guys, how
you feel about this? Are youguys how you feel about those one Memphis
talks. I feel like those talksare good when you're having conversations about what's
happening in our city, and you'relistening to the people because these are opportunities
for us to go and see themayor when he has these conversations wherever he's

(05:29):
gonna be. Last night it wasOrange Mound. These are opportunities for us
to go and make our voices.Heard one woman. She was talking about
how you know she has children, and you know it's it's she's tired of
telling her children that they can't gooutside to play. Yeah, that that
broke my heart to hear that brokemy heart. So I'm curious what you

(05:50):
guys think about that. And uhso. So I saw Drew Barrymore when
she had Kamala Harris on her talkshow, Right, I didn't think much
about it, but it was postedon social media. Essence Magazine posted on

(06:11):
social media Black Women. Well, let me let you hear what she had
or she asked Kamala Harris. Well, Drew acts Kamala Harris. They really
upset some folks in Black America.Listen to this. I've been thinking that
we really all need a tremendous hugin the world right now, but in
our country, we need you tobe Mamola of the country. She looked

(06:45):
pretty uncomfortable too. She didn't knowwhat to say. She looked very uncomfortable.
But Essence Magazine posted on social mediano matter if you are a fan
or not, Kamala Harris or anyother black woman is not yo, mammy,
dob what they say. Now.I didn't say this Essence theid that

(07:06):
black women are more than just mothersand nurturers. They don't owe white people
comfort, nor do they owe themguidance. And like I say, you
can tell Kamala was pretty uncomfortable whenDrew Barrymore asked her that question. Ye'all,
I gotta tell me what you thinkabout that, and tell me what

(07:29):
you think about some of the conversationsthat we're talking about today. Well,
my last thing that I wanted toask you guys about, and here's the
number nine O one five three fivenine three four two eight hundred five zero
three nine three four two eight threethree five three five nine three four two.
Okay, So last thing. Thisis it, and then we're gonna
get to these phones. What doy'all think about feuds? Not the old

(07:54):
feuds that you know we've seen onthe the what was the feud and folks
in Oh Goodness, one of theShakespeare plays. Well, y'all, y'all
kind of know what I'm talking about. Anyway, there are rap feuds going
on right now. Chris Brown,Quavo, you got Kendrick, Lamar and
Drake and whoever else is going tojoin in. Do you think those kinds

(08:18):
of things are good or bad forour young people when they see those kind
of rap feuds, because man, they they ain't listening the first Lady,
Michelle are forever flowtus Michelle Obama whenshe said when they go high, when
they go low, we go high. They ain't listening to that at all.
When they go low, people aregoing lower. There have been some

(08:43):
feuds though, you know in Rand B mm just like Wrap their few
R and B feuds too. Youmay not hear a lot about them,
but back in the day, don'ty'all remember the feuds with Lutha. Remember
remember Lutha and and in Vogue.Remember remember what they had going on.

(09:03):
Remember back in the day you heardabout those kind of fuse and then Aretha
and Patty, remember that, y'all. May I remember that Anita Baker and
Babyface Anita and everybody because Anita wasshe Anita Baker is like that Auntie.

(09:24):
That's like, I don't care whatyou think. I'm gonna say what I
wanna say and I'm gonna do whatI wanna do. That's yeah, she's
like that aunt Tie. Right now, Stephen A. Smith is feuding with
everybody over his comments that he madeabout black people can understand or we're relating
right now to Donald Trump because ofhis legal woes that we cannot. He

(09:48):
said something similar to that. Maybey'all can call me and tell me what
exactly what he said if you wantto get in on that or hit me
up in an email. What doy'all think about those fews? Let me
tell you what I think sometimes whenit comes to feuds, I don't think
that they're all when they're when wehear about a feud, whether it's in
in the rap culture or whether it'sin R and B, wherever it is,

(10:11):
I don't think that they're all actualfeuds. Sometimes. I think we
just they getting us because they wantto stay in the limelight. Now they're
trying to say there's something with theRock and Ryan Reynolds. You know,
of course they're saying, Nah,that ain't true. But some people in
the entertainment business think that as longas you talking about them, that's good

(10:33):
news. As long as you talkingabout them, that's what some people think.
So I'm just curious to hear whatyou guys say about, you know,
the feuding, because uh, I'mgonna tell you, it's not a
good thing when it comes to families. It ain't. It ain't a good
thing. We u. I sawthe story about the young lady who was

(10:58):
got up got in upset. Youprobably heard about the story. She got
upset about something on social media, got into the folks this relative or family
member, not her family member, but another family member that was you know,
the families were close, and shewent outside to fight these folks by
herself and she died. A motherof I think they said she had six

(11:22):
children. This is a recent storytoo. And the one of the family
members of the girl who went tojail. They finally they caught the woman
that shot her. She's in jail. But the family was like, we
were close. But I am curious. What do you think about the feuds
as it relates to relates to ourculture and what do y'all think about Drew

(11:43):
Barrymore asking Kamala to be our mamola. What'd you think about that? Because
if we were, if Black Americawere, or America were to have a
mamola right now, who would youthink that person would be? Hmm,
I'm curious to hear what you guyshave to say. W d A listeners
nine on one five three five, nine three four two eight hundred five zero
three nine three four two A threethree five three five nine three four two

(12:09):
w d I A Hello, Yes, agreed, Hey Marcus, happy,
how day to you? Yes,indeed have did to you too, thank
you. So, you know,I think they may make a clever move
because what he's doing, he's bringingbig government to the people. Ah,

(12:31):
the areas completing all the government notlistening oment. So he him bringing the
government to the people. And Ithink it's a very intelligent move. I
like it. Yeah, it's positive. It's a positive move. Yeah.
I always say about Memphis. Theyjust give me a Memphis single. You

(12:54):
know the people who folded Memphis, you know they were we know they were
racists. You know you were threethree Winchester overturned and Jackson three resists.
You see the name the name, you know, Memphis. When you google
that name, you know it's acity in Egypt. You know, you

(13:16):
know what I was thinking about thattoo, and I heard somebody talking about
that. Matter of fact that mychurch this past Sunday. Go ahead,
Marcus. The Memphis was the chainedcity. In fact, it was the
first city that established the dynasty bya king Carl, King Menes and and
King Menes Africa, and they triedto take to Africa as the black people

(13:43):
and egyptiand but those were our descendants. But they named it after we were
sleeves at that time, named itafter us. And that they built you
see that, you see that thatrepresents us, because who build the pyramiters

(14:05):
black black people. Yeah, soyou know we Memphis can be a beag.
And I said, you have aport down there, you know,
we just need to step out intothe world. That we got a poor
they could say from here straight downinto New Orleans. They put anything and
bought, send it anywhere, andbringing anything up the river on a barge.

(14:28):
Say you got the railroad. Youknow. So we those black folks,
we just gotta starting international, youknow, don't just think Louis Carlin
more or we just gotta step outin the world. They got they got
black folks with money here in Memphis. The church, you got a lot
of money too. I heard themoney man talking yesterday and he let the

(14:48):
catch all the bag. They said, I listen, you know, I
keep my ears well open. Hesaid, Look, they got more people
here with them. Churches got moneyand they're non profit. You got money,
so they should reinvest that money nowback into the community. Because it's
the congregants that contributed in church andto these non profits, and they should

(15:11):
reinvest somebody that money they have turnedover and which is back into the community,
you know, to these you toteach them international trier and things like
that, you know, because theseblack men who are selling drugs, they
are entrepreneurs. Hey, they couldbe business men in suits too, you
know, doing business in Africa.Amen, thank you, Marcus, thank

(15:33):
you. Oh. I love itwhen Marcan says when he says you take
care Stormy, how's he saying?I get the accent, you take care.
I love it. A go Marcusw d I A hello, Hello,
how are you doing? So?Hey? I'm good, Freddie?
How you doing? Oh? No, I'm on the road. This week.

(15:54):
Uh, that's the rep that therep be Uh. We got it
right here in miss you know it'sit's it's it's it's really playing out it
right in front our eyes here inour whole town. What you mean you're
talking about the in the in therap music. We've got rap beefs happening
in our city with what you mean, like the National Rappers. We got

(16:18):
some of that here too. Ohyeah, yeah, it's strong. You
know. You just you ain't gotto do nothing to look at the news
and look at social media. Youknow, you got you got catstad On
then on miss It. You know, it's just like it just like has
been mean. But at the endof the day, we don't really trying
to say, uh, you supposedup you're your brother, you know.
You know, everybody's getting some money, you know, and everybody sposed to

(16:41):
be trying to help out. Man, I can help you with this or
if I can help you with anythingwith it, it's just because I don't
like to you know, E mailDM my girl or this that and another.
You know, it just be itjust be pissed up when you're really
supposed to up brother, you know. Yeah, so you know that's the
all thing how I feel about it, So Dad, it really is.

(17:02):
Yeah, yeah, ma'am. Soyou know that's all I wanted to say.
Brother, that's all we need todo and be magic. The sad
part, Freddy, is that andyou're part of that. You're kind of
a part of that culture. Butthe sad part is that it doesn't always
just end with songs, and sometimesit ends with people being dead. Oh

(17:22):
yeah, yeah. We we havewitness see right here on the news.
And you know, young man.You know, most they get very successful
and try to come home and youknow, you know, be at home
and stuff back that they really can'tdo. You know. You know we
have seen our plum and stuff likethis. So you're talking about young golf
and then God's brother being shot.Yeah, yeah, you know, all

(17:45):
that could have been avoided. Youknow, all that could have been a
wood. Everybody just you know, all people you know, just uplifted,
like I said, uplift your brother, No, don't down. Yeah,
you know, have some kind ofyou know, I should work together instead
of being against each other. Butthis what pumps social media. There was
pumps and keeps it going. Youknow, you may show me, you

(18:07):
know, you let your partner Lou. You know this like we Ross and
Drake and this then another. Youknow they back and forward on the internet
and like so you know it shouldnot be. We got a little other
stuff going on and for us tobe beating the Dallas and words. This
is all what I'm talking about. We've got a lot of other stuff going
on. That's all. That's allI wanted to chime in. Think is

(18:33):
up up? Your brother? Youknow it did be a better place.
Yeah, I agree? Can weall just Rodney King acted years ago,
Freddy? Can we all just getalong? That's it. That's it,
that's it, you know, allright, all right by w D I

(18:53):
A hello Stormy and experience. Howyou doing we up in here? Were
up in? Yeah, Jackson, two things. I'll let you go.
The lessons will the lesson will bemine. The lessons were yours. Uh.
I wasn't gonna speak on what thatwhat that guy just mentioned. But
you know, Negroes will never everever get along because we are mixed up

(19:18):
people. First of all, we'renot a pure race and we've been in
bred. We are. We comefrom different countries in Africa. We don't
know who we are and we're justout there after slavery. I know,
you know, we want to forgetabout slavery, but they just threw us

(19:40):
out there, and we don't knowwho we are. We just mixed up
people. So it's just and itworking together. I never understood that work
with your family and anybody. Everybody. Okay, okay, okay, next
point, public public service announcement. And this is serious. You know everybody

(20:03):
knows that I coach athletics. SoI coach a nine and ten year old
baseball team, and I'm in needof some players. I have Wait a
minute, wait a minute, Waita minute, wait a minute. Hold
up, you're trying to get someplayers. Wait a minute, while how
old they got to be? Andwhat what are you looking for? Female
players? Male players? Because Imight I might want you to put me

(20:26):
in coach. What you got goinghome? Baseball? The girl? Unless
the girl is super athletic, it'sboys. Of course, girls can play
with nine and ten year olds.Oh okay, okay, so young people,
young people, Okay, right,So I coached baseball. I've been
coaching these guys since they were three, and now they're nine and ten,

(20:52):
and so we play over on NeelyRoad Will Corouthers Sports Complex, the Memphis
Little League dot com. And soI'm in need of you know, I
want about fifteen because you know, parents and but there's a catch. There's
no cost. I never charge anything. It all comes out of my pocket

(21:15):
and a sponsor. The catch isyou can't have the player there late all
the time. You can't just dropthe player off and think I'm gonna babysit.
You know, sometimes if we geta good race, about drop the
child off or pick the child up, get the dot these equipment, and

(21:37):
I have plenty equipment. I hada lot of clipment donated to me from
various through the years. Okay, nine and ten. It's baseball and the
actual the actual boy pitches the ball. So you can can I get my
email out? Yeah, go ahead, I'll let you do it because it

(21:57):
because you're doing some good and weare the the you know, Goodwill and
Good Times radio stations, and you'redoing some good. Not for profit.
Yeah, okay, not for profit. Okay, My email is Tommy.
That's t O M M y RO c k at aol dot com.
That's t O M M y RO c k at aol dot com.

(22:23):
You know, because I love thekids, and because you're talking about the
kids, I'm letting you do this, Jackson. But I'm not gonna We're
not gonna. We're not gonna dothat all this hour. Now, next
time you call me talk about something, didn't tell me about that. Later
on I do your show advertising. We're always talking about kids getting off the
street and everything. You're right, yeah, yeah, I love that.

(22:44):
Guess why I've been trying to getpeople to come and tutor of these kids
with me. Yeah, well you'retalking about this audience, Jackson, And
on that note, what we gonnado with him? I am wondering who

(23:08):
this y'all. If y'all, ify'all have seen our ten seventy wd ia,
Instagram and Facebook page, you've seenthese young people playing or singing rather
and I'm trying to figure out whothis school is. Is this Cordova High
School or what school this is?It ain't no knt be. They look
too young to be in high school. But I may be wrong, but
listen to this, y'all. Theygot on social media to sing a song.

(23:30):
They took us back, and youknow, I guess it's you know,
kids are getting ready to get outof school, so they're happy and
all their good stuff. So theysang and this has gone viral. By
the way, it's all over national, all the national blogs, y'all that

(24:00):
song inside what's up? Y'all knowthat's family matters, But shout out to

(24:21):
that high school. They say it'sCordova High School. I'm not sure,
but if y'all are listening, orif somebody knows that's listening, hit me
up nine o one five three fivenine three four to two. They have
gone viral on social media, andI wouldn't be surprised if we see them
on Good Morning America Tameron Hall orsome of those shows, y'all w d
I a hello, Hello, hey, hey, Hi. I love your

(24:47):
show. I never call. Ionly called in the morning, but I
do love your show. Thank you. I kind of agree with a couple
of things. Well, one thingthat Jackson see. You know, it's
really sad that I was talking aboutthis to some colleagues of mine. We
as a people, it's so sad, and I hate it because I'm black.

(25:07):
I love being black or a blackwoman. We did not learn how
to live off of the plantation. We never learned to function on the plantation.
We were made to be together,we were made to function. Everything
we did it was family oriented.Everything we did we had to help one

(25:30):
another. You know, we hadkids. You know, the elders,
they had kids to help, tofeed to. I mean, everything was
done as a family. And Idon't know what has happened, but listen,
I hate to say it, butthe white man is not. This
ain't our problem. I don't know. At some point it may have been.

(25:53):
But our problem has just got somuch more complex than just that phrase
or that thing or that issue thatwe've just talked about for so many years,
so many generations. And when Ithought about it, we just hadn't
learned to live together, be together, work together, come together. The

(26:18):
only time we did that was onthe plantation. And it's sad to say,
it's such a truth. And sonow with thrown, it took its
pitch of fighting against each other andit's just not class. At one point
in time in my life I wantedto say that it was class related with
class how much money you make,But it's not even that because those that

(26:42):
make money. If you're on ajob, people know this. If you're
on a job and you're trying toadvance. You get more class from those
that look like you, You getmore help some people that don't look like
you. And so it hurts meto the core. I'm fifty five.
I've lived in Memphis not all mylife, but I've lived other places as

(27:03):
well, and I've lived on theEast Coast. I lived in the Atlanta
area, Nashville. And I tellpeople all the time, we don't know
how rich Memphis is to other people. We don't if you've never been anywhere,
you don't know how rich the culture, the music, how rich it

(27:26):
is to people. And I sayall the time when I come home,
you know, I like to saythe main and all of that. You
know, I likes the Memphis flangand everything. But the problem is is
that when you don't know how tocome out of that to be something else,
or like I always need to tellmy my child, there's a money

(27:47):
making voice, there's a money makingattitude. There's a place that you need
to be that doesn't involve the streetin the hood. Don't get me wrong,
I get that, but we justwe've not learn how to live in
that place. You know what theycall it, what you're what you're talking
about They call it code switching.Well, when you and I, when

(28:11):
you and I can talk and wesay it wasn't mane, how you doing
what you're doing today? What's what'sup with you? And then when when
we're on our job, we say, yes, sir, I am applying
for this position and if you wouldplease consider me for that. You know
what I'm saying. So it's calledcode switching. And really it didn't originate
with us. It actually originated frompeople on the plantation. But somehow another

(28:34):
we've I mean we've we've Yeah,because they had to code switch, they
had to talk to the to themaster a certain way, and then they
would go and talk to each otherin a different way. Yes, like
they were not learning. And youknow something, Stormy, I'm gonna be
honest with you, since you broughtthat word back to my memory. Honestly,

(28:55):
the younger generation they looked at itas a as you you're trying to
be You're not you're not trying tobe. But what with that? Ain't
just that? Ain't just that generation? All my life I've heard all my
life, I've heard people telling meyou're trying to sound white, You're trying
to sound white. I'm not tryingto sound white. I grew up in

(29:18):
an all black school. They justhappened to teach me certain things that helped
me to learn how to I canI can be around. Paul said in
the Bible, be all things toall people. I know how to be
all things to all people. Youknow what I'm saying exactly exactly, and
I don't think anything is wrong withit. It's nothing wrong with the because

(29:40):
here's the thing I tell people allthe time, and this is how I
raised my child. I tell them, I said, look, when you
go to that job, nobody caresabout what's going on in your personal life.
Be what they need to to bethere and come home and deal with
whatever you have to deal with nobody. And I tell people out even go
biblical with it. It says moreand for a season. You don't just

(30:06):
be mourning all the time. Nobodycares about your emotions. And I use
the same thing. You have toknow where you are in life. You
have to know who you are,and it's not the same person on every
situation. Everything you're you're someone knowswhen you go to church, Yeah,
yeah, I mean, so youknow, I just I'll listen to you,

(30:26):
and I appreciate you and thank youfor always having great topics. But
I will say we we just haven'tlearned how to live our supplication. I
don't know what it's going to take. I just moved back to Memphis about
three years ago, and you've beentalking for about six minutes, so I'm
gonna have to wrap you up,but go ahead, yes, yes,
yes, but I love your Ilove your show. Want to continue listen.

(30:48):
Thank you, thank you so much. I really appreciate you. And
I let her talk because she saidit was her first time. But when
I come back, I'm going toread some of your emails and I see
you on hold hang on for me. Nine oh one five three five nine
three four two eight hundred five zerothree nine three four two eight three three

(31:12):

my WDA dot com, type itin and win one thousand dollars. Your
keyword is check C H E CK. Yeah. Thank you guys for
being here with me today. Iappreciate you just wondering still what you think

(31:33):
about the town hall meetings that MayorPaul Young has been having in our city,
the one Memphis town hall meetings they'vebeen going on, and as a
matter of fact, I personally Ilike them. I commend the mayor for
getting out of the community talking topeople and hopefully listening to people too,

(31:56):
because when you when you have aposition like that and you go out in
the community, you have to knowthat everything you hear is not going to
be positive. So I'm sure he'slistening to it all at these townhome meetings
and town hall meetings. Rather,I hope that. I doubt I'll get
a chance to get to one ofthem because they usually happen while I'm on

(32:17):
the air, But maybe I couldcatch the next one and see what's going
on, because I want to say, I want to go to these meetings
and just hear what people have tosay. And people seem to be like
that one they had last night.People seem to be pouring out their hearts.
There were some emotional moments during that. And it's on our Instagram,
our Facebook page, not our Instagram, but ten seven d WDA on Facebook.

(32:40):
You can go if you're interested inhearing the town hall meeting, you
can go and see it live onour Facebook page. Yeah, and go
see it and tell us where youthink, Tell me what you think about
that. I was talking about feudstoo, you know, and some of
them not you know, as serious, I guess as we you know,
might think that they are, butdefinitely wanted you to hear this one.

(33:04):
Not really a few, but Michaelback when Prince had some issues with Michael
Jackson, listen to this Wesley Snychecharacter that would have been mer Now you
run that video in your mind. The first line that saw is Joe Buddy's

(33:24):
line. I said, who gonnasing that to? Who? Because You're
showing singing it to me and I'mshowing singing it to you. So right
there, we got, you know, right there, we got a problem.
And you know what Prince and Michaelwhen if you watch that documentary on

(33:45):
Netflix about that We Are the World, that We Are the World document you
watch that, you'll see, Uh, Michael was, you know, one
of the main people that was,you know, putting that thing together.
Uh Prince didn't show up. SheLee says she felt used because they were
trying to get him to come throughher. Yeah, man, yeah,

(34:10):
yeah, I see you guys.On know, let's getay these phone lines.
W D I A hello, Hello, I'm good. How are you
wonderful? Thank you for asking me? And you are just I don't know
what to say about you. MissOrman. Love yourself, I love yourself.

(34:34):
But the young lady, the lastcalled her. She said a lot
of good things. She did,she made a lot of good and everything
that she talked about is true andthe reason. And you know, I
was raised up in the South, and I'm telling you that that they the
ones that come from the plantation, you cannot change them. They're not gonna

(34:58):
change. And I mean I'm aroundsome here right where I'm at now.
You cannot change their thinking. Andthey were sad to you. Oh you
think you white because you talk thisway, or you thank you this color
because you this color, you know, and it's just a whole lot of
crap. But the young lady istelling the truth. And Memphis is a
beautiful city. That's why you uhouldcome and shop years ago. All man,

(35:22):
Memphis. I love Memphis. Ilove Bill Street. I love it
all about Memphiause Memphis is the bomb, you know, but only thing you
can do is just pray and keepour sick heads up and keep on moving
and do the things that we knowit's right, you know, that's all
we can do. And bless theones that we can bless, you know,

(35:43):
and help them out, you know. And it's not all about men
or us, you know, tryto help when you can, you know.
That's why I was working in anursing home and I was doing the
shrill charm. It's a volunteer.I was a volunteer and I worked for
six months and I'm going back whenthe fall comes because I had to come
and do some things at my ownhome and I did one and I did

(36:05):
all of that. I don't mindhelping people. In mind of fact,
tomorrow I'm going and she can Iget some people to come and stay here
with me, homeless, you know, but I'm having checked out before the
shaff's departments. Is why I bringme my home, you know, I
gotta do that for me to besafe. Yeah. But she she said
a whole lot. She really did, and I just thank her for saying

(36:27):
those things because it's true. AndI know, you know, when they
when they see this happened to mewhen they see me some people and I
wear my hair blud and the onesthat really and I know the ones that
come from the plantation, they'll walka beside you and they would roll their
eyes, some of them will, and some of them look at and they're
maybe grinning talking about that, talkingto the other person, saying, Oh,

(36:49):
she think she's white because she's herskin is different colors. That's not
true. That's not true at all. That's right. That's their moonset,
you know. And I just Ijust still fire for them, that's all
I can say. And we justtrying to pull each other down where we
could, where we could help eachother if we could, if he would,
you know, a lot of peoplecan help me now, help peoples
all the time. That's why theLord you's blessing me. It's nothing for

(37:10):
me to do anything for anybody.Color doesn't matter. I do anything for
him, you know. Anyway.I'm a warman. And you keep on
doing what you're doing because you gota kind heart to already. Or I've
never met you, yes, butI know you had a time. And
I can tell yourself and do whateveryou can to anybody, So you take
care of yourself. And I amjust enjoying your show. I love you
and you take care of u me. Okay, your phone started getting a

(37:37):
little staticky that what were you tryingto say, you know, by holding
give that toiler stew up, uhand not betting it down. That don't
that don't work at my house,No, ma'am, no man, no
ma'am. No Ma'm keeping a dirtybathroom, no ma'am, no ma'am.
That's anyway, Yes, ma'am.Thank you. I love you too,

(38:00):
and you take care too. Thankyou so much for calling you know,
uh you when I check yourself whenyou find because everybody has a tendency to
want to say the wrong thing andto want to uh say something that sounds
like you hate, and check yourselfwhen you do it. Because if you

(38:21):
say to somebody, m you thinkyou cute, you might be the one
that thinks that person is cute.A lot of times you say what's in
you? What's in you will comeout of you? A lot of times
you will say what's in you?So if if it sounds like jealousy,
check yourself. I think if weall checked ourselves a little bit more,

(38:44):
we could we you know, we'dbe we'd say, we'd learn to say
things, you know, and listen. I'm not perfect at this. I
mess up too, I say.Sometimes I'll say something and I'm like,
oh my god, why did Isay that? I might sleep. I'll
go to bed at night and thinkabout it all night long, you know,
until I can get to a placewhere I can apologize. You know
what I'm saying. But I thinkwe all have a tendency. But I

(39:05):
think if we all kind of youknow, think about what you're saying,
because sometimes it's not the other person, and it's not them or whatever.
Sometimes it's you. You're the onewho really has the problem, the person
who's got something bad to say abouteverything. And everybody w D I a
hello, Hey lady, d howyou do it today? I'm good?

(39:31):
How are you? I'm doing allright? Someone that was looking at some
of your comments, storm It.If I left you will talk that thing
if you get to it today onthe red mic mm hmm, it was

(39:52):
some birthdays today. Can you askthe question about ma'a y'all. I give
him a chance, Stormy, andif he don't turn things around within a
year or two, he uh,it's golds like this Stormy. Give them

(40:14):
time. You gave give about time. Nobody come in, Holland, you
need to do this, You needto do that, and we need to
do this here. He gonna lady, as some plans I like ex plays,
that's laid out now. But ifhe don't do what he said,
he's gonna do no, lady. They ain't got no problem calling him out,

(40:34):
whether it's Mary Young, whether it'sStormy Tea staying. You call me
out, lady, d me andyou twins. Don't do that. Don't
do men. You know what Itold somebody else said. And so after
storm and making the show storm andmaking her day go back, she might

(40:59):
be saying, thinking about the lateBible, ojay, you know, don't
care what if I'm o they said. He said, yeah, I beleeve
of this. I believe in this. I said it is. It don't
make sense to be angry or getupset because somebody in the office and they
haven't tuned things around in fifteen days. Come on, Stormy, you know

(41:21):
we need to give him more time. And believe it or not, it's
not his fault that we want tohave a shootout. It's not his fault
with the people in the house that'sover you. Just as you're talking about
the children, I said, Iwant if I wasn't already running so many
children. See anybody gonna wear asign on their back that saying, hey,

(41:43):
I want you to know what Idid today, bestowing me that.
It's a lot of people, notonly lady. They'll have to have for
her with the father of members becausethe children they need him. It's not
their children. And so the stuffyou be talking about, come help you
do. I saw on it everyday just about I'm running some of my

(42:07):
little niece's great nieces. I'm runningers for somebody. Do I have a
say I do this every day?No, but I'm willing to help.
I go to extra milestorm. Ihelp everybody in the family, I believe,
and of them. Bet you don'thelp. This is what they said,
you know it. Getting back Icall the street talk. Street call

(42:30):
gets back to me, Well, you know she thinks she more than everybody.
We glad the Lord doesn't bleed her. If you was glad, you
wouldn't be talking like you talk, because I couldn't walk that. The ones
that talk like this, how longdo you take care of you with be
at this every since we were children. You come out now on that.

(42:52):
No, Stormy Tea, have agood game, all right now, Lady
d are yeah now here what you'retalking about, Lady D, I hear
you now yeah, A lot ofus and you not supposed to. I
I this is one of my petpeeves, y'all people. Now, I
tell y'all about the you know, going to two of the kids because I

(43:12):
want y'all to, you know, consider doing it. That's why I'm doing
I'm not doing it to brag.And I'm like, and I hope y'all
don't think that, but I dohate seeing people on social media that'll videotape
themselves giving a homeless person some money. Cause are you doing this for yourself?
Are you to get likes on socialmedia? Are you really doing this

(43:32):
to help somebody? That's one ofmy pet pee's right there. Let me
look at some of these emails here, okay, Tony says. Queen reminds
me of Oprah. She's done everythingeveryone else has done. Jackson volunteers with
the young folks. She volunteers withthe old folks. Yep, she does.
I love that. Miss Lucy Lucillesaid, could you help me wish

(43:58):
my son in law, Maurice macway, a happy birthday. Happy birthday,
Maurice mcway. Come on here,Mcway. I like that last name.
Miss Mary said. They are fantasticif that is them singing. I saw
them last year in concert. You'retalking about the kids, said, I
let y'all hear the kids singing.Y'all hear them cord Over High School choir.

(44:22):
I'm trying to find out. I'mtrying to find out who that choir
is. W D I A LO this ma'am. This is Taylor again.
I'm just calling and hamping back onthem taxes, Lee Paul John talking
about I was listening to Lee Harris. He said, wouldn't be no property
tax in the county. I justcame, you mean he said he's not

(44:44):
gonna raise property taxes in the county, right right? Lee Harris saw him
today on the news and he said, no, no county property tax.
I'm just still hampering on young's properlytax so quickly, and you know you

(45:05):
don't like it. One No,I don't like it. I'm sure you
don't either nobody else. All right, missus Taylor, what I mean?
Strickly? She was in eight years. He didn't never raised privately tacks in
eight years. And as soon asJohn get in the door, he want
to put him up to twenty eightpercent. And man, but that's all

(45:29):
I had to say. Okay, thank you, thank you. Got another
email here Tracy said, Drew didKamala a favor. She's not seen much
and she's not known as the warmestperson in the country. Now you're right
about that, honey, Tracy, because they've been on Kamala for a long
time. A lot of people don'tlike them. But when has any of

(45:51):
the majority of people in America likedthe vice president? I mean, really,
when has that ever happened? Youknow what I'm saying? She says.
This is what Tracy is saying inthis email. This would be a
good time for her to be therational one. We need to see more
of her instead of the two oldmen. We'll see if that happens.

(46:15):
W D I A hello hello,hello, Yes, yeah. I just
want to put out there that uhyou know, uh Nichss always have been
a major city tourist attraxes. Ibelieve that we had the number one and
number two tourist taxes in the wholestate and powers to be know that.

(46:38):
That's why they unleashed these gangsters onus. And uh like they got downtown
uh student uh old Bill Street thatwith that extra magazine. You know that
who does that has to bring thetourism down and uh they gonna say something
more for those steft to go offme. They always do, they gonna

(47:02):
Uh So the police needs to betrying to watch that area down there.
They follow those events and they'll setsomething mong for every time to bring the
crowd down. And they're trying toruin the city. And I just want
to put that out there, allright, Thank you, appreciate you calling
in w d I A hello,Hello, I am great. Look this

(47:30):
is my thing. I don't knowwhy our politicians always want to raise taxis
Channel thirteen get a story on allthese big businesses that oh millions of dollars
in tax Yeah, I mentioned thatyesterday or day before yesterday. They're getting
they're getting a tax break, They'regetting a tax breaker. They old over

(47:53):
a million dollars in taxes. Althoughyou know they have a tax break.
You got all these business there thatold plenty of taxes. Our countercessor needs
to be held accountable because he needsto collect those taxes so they can stop
milking up for everything that we have. You know, we can't keep carrying
the load when these companies with thesebig billion dollar business they making money and

(48:17):
you know they're fucking us dry. They need to go after these companies that
owe these taxes. And I thinkthis committee that they have, this board
that keep giving these companies these taxbreak, somebody needs to look behind them.
I understand they got to give themsome tax break, but to continually
to do it for year after yearafter year and then they're not paying their
taxes. You know, that's that'smore on us. Something needs to be

(48:40):
done. But like I said,if they go after these people that owe
back taxes, when you old taxes, I remember they tried to take this
lady's house downtown. They'll owe twohundred dollars in taxes. Now, what
is that. They tried to takethis old lady house and she had been
there I think for over forty fiftyyears something like that. They wanted to

(49:00):
take her house. But you've gotthese bulls, have million dollar companies that
oh, hundreds of thousands of dollarsin Texas and you're not bothering them,
and that's not fair. Yeah, you're right, Thank you so much.
I appreciate you calling in. I'mgetting down to the wire, so I
can I can take another caller herejust a second, you can. You
got about thirty seconds to say whatyou got to say or less. W

(49:22):
d I A. Hello, Yeah, bo hey bootsy. Yeah, how
you doing good? Yeah, that'sa good thing. Well, you know
what. I ain't gonna hold youtoo long. But I think with the
uh the school, uh city schoolneed to get some programs together for the
kids for the summer. Oh.I remember back in the day I used

(49:45):

the schools in the summer time.Yeah, and you know what program where
you clean at school you're in thesummer. Yeah, you know, And

something about mythic about raising their propertytaxic. Okay, you got you got

tax they can get in all ofthe other places to go out of them.
What car people, I mean cartaxes, all the other taxes,

(50:25):
they can't really go out of them. But they know people work really hard
for their home and they don't wantto lose it. So that's why they
knew that Tomos, because that's theonly guaranteed people who's gonna pay their taste.
