(00:57):
day, stormy conversations. What's reallygoing on? Hey, everybody, Happy
Monday to you. Four six.I am stormy up in here on this
good looking Monday. It was abig weekend in Memphis. Over the weekend.
I don't know if you guys gotout to check out anything that happened.

(01:19):
Man, I hear stokely did afabulous job. Something came up last
minute and I could not make itto the play. Had some real good
seats to them. Man. Theyput me on the front row, but
I couldn't make it. I wasso mad. I could not make it
to the play on this past Saturdaynight, but I hear Stokely did a
fabulous job and that it was actuallya good play. Yeah, Stokely played

(01:41):
Rick James in that play. JacariusJohnson. He's traveling the country with that
play about Rick James. So forthose of you that want tickets that got
a chance to go, I amcurious did you learn anything about Rick James
that we did not already know?I am curious about that. Last week
I was looking at this story. There was a there was a woman that

(02:04):
won the lottery. She won thelottery after somebody actually gave her the ticket.
I can't remember what she wanted wasit was one hundred thousand dollars or
something like that, and she talkedabout what she was gonna do with it.
I don't even think she showed upto pick up that. I think

(02:25):
she disguised herself or something like that. At any rate. Uh, Yeah,
it was a Virginia woman. Wellmaybe not that woman, but this
is a woman who fished her prizeout of the trash. But I saw
the story last week of a womanwho won She won the lottery. It
was about one hundred thousand dollars.Somebody gave her the ticket. Now she

(02:46):
they asked her what she was gonnado with the money. Now one time
did she say, I'm gonna givethe person who gave me the ticket some
money. And not one time didshe say anything like that, But she
did talk about what she was gonnado. Fortunate she fell, and I
thought about it. I was like, you know what, I wonder if
the person who gave her that ticket, evidently they didn't know that ticket was

(03:09):
gonna win or it was gonna bea winning ticket. But if the person
that gave this woman that ticket,I want it was a million dollars.
That's what it was. Woman inIllinois, it was a Lucky Day lotto
ticket that she received from a fellowcustomer at a convenience store u Love's Park.
They said the one dollar ticket matchedall four numbers in the midday drawing

(03:34):
on April twenty second, winning herthe million dollar jackpot. The anonymous Winter
plans to buy a new house, car, support her grandchildren, and save
the remaining funds. And I'm justwondering, since we know where it was,
and I'm sure the person who youknow read the story. Maybe the
person that bought that ticket read thestore. I'm wondering if that person can

(03:55):
sue. And I'm just wondering whatyou would do if if you gave somebody
a ticket they want a million dollars? Would you try to sue? Would
you be upset about it? Andwould you sue? That's a lot of
money. Yeah, she chose toremain anonymous. She hid her face in

(04:15):
a photo with the oversized million dollarchecks. She told a lot of officials
that everything happens for a reason whenshe claimed her prize. With her new
found fortune, she plans to purchasea new house and car. She's also
planning to support her grandfather and saysthat she'll put any remaining funds in her
savings. The odds of winning thejackpot on the Lucky Day Lotto game are

(04:39):
about one in two point two million. Now that's a that's babee. If
I get if I gave you aticket and you want a million dollar and
tell you something, to be upset, I be upset. I'm be upset.
Now. In breaking news today, you guys just saw this news commercial

(05:02):
appeal is running this story. HamiltonCounty District Attorney Cody Wemp has now presented
an Ouster petition after a near tenmonth long investigation of Shelby County Clerk Wanda
Halbert. This just broke about tenminutes ago. Okay. The Ouster petition

(05:28):
filed in court today does not officiallyremove Halbert from office, but it did
suspend Halbert of her official capacity ascounty clerk. Wow, just if why

(05:48):
are y'all that's breaking today? Thefilings list incorrect financial reporting strains on auto
dealers in the county comptroller deficiency, and Halbert's no show to the May one
Shelby County Commission meeting where she wassupposed to present her corrective action plan as

(06:11):
reasons for the Ouster petition. Investigationstarted June twenty twenty three, and with
the findings from Wamp's office, Ousterpetitions can now begin to form. The
petition requests an out of town juryif Halbert demands a jury. Since the
announcement of the investigation, Halbert hascome under fire for lease expirations and late

(06:36):
and incorrect revenue reports. The popularPlaza, a clerk's office location, had
to shut its doors in November aftermonths of unpaid rents. So y'all know
the story y'all been hearing about allthis. How do y'all feel about this?
This is new news? You feellike it's long overdue. You feel

(06:56):
like it's more picking on Wanda? How do you feel about a w d
I A listeners nine o one fivethree five, nine three four two eight
hundred five zero three nine three fourtwo eight three three five three five nine
three four two yep. The Ousterpetition filed in court today does not officially
remove Howbard from office, but itdid suspend her of her official capacity as

(07:23):
county clerk. Wow, let mego to the phone lines. W d
I A. Hello, Hey,how you doing a song? Hey?
Freddie? How you doing? I'mdoing all right? So you're saying,
is I'm getting like you? Okay? If I use somebody a lot of
TV, they don't win to me. Now, they're gonna have to cut
it up. Dead. Uh,look like she want it. Looked like

(07:48):
she's faking dead because she uh,because she is remaining anonymous. Uh.
She wants to take a picture andcovered herself up. Baby. Okay,
So we don't know who this womanis. A million dollars man. It's

(08:13):
a mean way, So y'all notto find me and see this must be
Illinois must be one of those stateswhere you can remain anonymous, because I
don't think Tennessee is one of thosestates. I think you have to let
everybody know who you are when youwin a lottery around here and here,
think about one the Halloween. Shecan't make people buy tag in the life

(08:37):
and counting four people will pay thepage, won't we made a humble because
they won't coming in and buy notage that won't even bad shows on it.
You know, Well, it's notabout buying tags, Freddie, That's
not what the petition is all about. From what I'm reading. It's not
about that is about incorrect financial reporting, uh, and a few other things.

(09:01):
It's not about you know if weI seen and I've seen a lot
of drive our tags out there onpaper tags. Man, they all over
the place. Yeah, so youknow, she moved. She moved doing
a lot of work from home andstuff. I'm not sure why she.
Yeah, she didn't show up atthat May first meeting at the Shelby County
Commission. I'm not sure why shedidn't show up for that. But that's

(09:22):
uh, yeah, that's one ofthe reasons why this Yeah, this petition
is put in place too. That'sone of them. Yeah you remember that
move where were coming up? Thatthe truck bigfootward the name of that move.
I tell them take this job,all right, Freddy, thank you,
Tell big Freddy we said hey,all right? Then I tell fred

(09:43):
Rob hey'all won't say these right herebefore I go hey. I know,
Lady D. Personally, everybody whobe saying something boy, my ain't,
my ain't probably make them look badon tealling that my ain't looked good.
Uh, Lady D, she frommy neighborhood that don't, don't. I
don't want to. Nobody will saynobody, Lady D. What they say
about day now. I'm just saying, they be saying she talked too long,

(10:05):
and that a little more they see, Lady B, there'll be too.
They put this with jagging, okayingthat Lady D. Thank you Freddy
too from my neighborhood of deal. All right now all right, w D
I A hello, Yes, smygreed, Marcus, how you doing I'm

(10:30):
doing greed? Piggyback on what Freddysaying it. I would tell one,
tell them take this job and shoveit far far then show it because you
know they've been going in for herfor a long time. Just tell Lee

(10:50):
Harris say, hey, okay, this jobb and what we are all right
now, marcus it and shove it. Since the announcement, this is according
to the Commercial Appeal, Since theannouncement of the investigation, Halbert has come
under fire. I think I justtold you about the you know, all
of that stuff. Most recently, the Shelby County Board of Commissioners passed a

(11:13):
resolution that requested Halbert submit a correctiveaction plan in response to findings from the
Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury's Audit reportand the annual Annual Comprehensive Financial Audit from
the county's independent auditors. Do youthink Wanda should go? Because right now
she I mean, hey, she'sbeen okay, from what it says in

(11:35):
the Commercial Appeal, because of thisOuster position petition, it did suspend her
of her official capacity as county clerkWD. I A hello, Hey,
what's going on coming? Man?I'm good, it's all right, yeah,

(11:58):
Freddy. He and Margaret's right,She's to tell them to take this
job and shove it, because Idon't know what the heck I'm doing this
is my second term and I've beenmessing up from start to finish. That's
exactly what she should say in regardsto that ticket. I'm and no,
once you give it away, thatthis is all gone about that you sure

(12:20):
you can't sue? Nah, youwon't be a super devil storm. You
gave that with a way to kindof like a gift, you know what
I mean. So once you givesomebody something, you can't sue them for
it to get it back. Notlike that. You gotta just hope.
You got to hope they have aheart and reach out and get you something.
Mm. Yeah, that's I'm definitelysending some prayers up for wonder because

(12:41):
this this ain't this Yeah, thisis this right here? Yeah. Yeah,
look like the finally hit a hitit with her, you know what
I'm saying. Uh, you know, I don't have anything against her.
I just feel I just feel likeshe fail to do a job properly.
So you know, it is whatit is as far as I'm concerned.
So when you go get your tags, how long does it take you when
you when you've had to go downthere and get your worst I've waited one

(13:03):
time about yeah, thirty to fortyfive minutes. But what I normally do
is go in the middle of themonth because it seemed like a lot of
people be there at the beginning ofthe month and being at the end of
the month. So I typically godoing the middle parts of the month,
and I usually go like to theone on Austin up there on Austin pee
or popping and haling when it wentwhen it was open of course, right

(13:26):
now, okay, yeah, itwas all right coming to me little time
I went on land and waited twoweeks for it to come into mail.
So different, you know, differentscenarios. Yeah, yeah, we all
have different experiences. Thank you foryour response, coming man, Thank you
so much for calling in. Yeah, we always have or we all have
different experiences as it relates to,you know, getting our tags and all
that good stuff. When we haveto go to the clerk's office. Nurse

(13:50):
Beverly, how you doing, hey, Storm and her? You doing?
I'm doing good? You all righttoday? I know you want not wait
a minute because it's Monday. Igot to find out what you cooking to
day. First, tell me whatyou're cooking. Now, tell me tell
you what I'm cooking. Yeah,I've got a roasted I got a chicken,

(14:11):
a whole chicken in the oven withsome vegetables around, and I'm I
got some black beans cooking. Andthen I saw this, uh, this
item at the store, and Idecided, I'm gonna try it. It's
called rice collie flower with herbs andgarlic. Uh huh, yes, that's
good. Yeah. I used totear it up. Okay, I had

(14:35):
never seen it before, so Idecided to get something and tried and some
corn bread. Dad, go,you got it? Okay, Okay,
if I'm knocking on your door, let's just let me in. Okay,
let you in. You know Iwill red cop it. Thank you so
much. Talk to me, okay. In REGARDSS to one to habit you,

(15:00):
I think the powers that be,or whoever you want to call the
officials, I think they have beenvery patient with Wonder. You know,
things have not been going well inher office, probably for at least over
a year. M And I thinkthey've given her chance after chance after chance

(15:20):
after chance, and I just thinkmaybe the job is too big for her.
Maybe she just cannot handle it.You know, I don't know how
old Wonder is, but I knowshe's not a spring chicken. I know
she retired from fed X, soI'm sure she's put in a lot of
blood, sweating tears at fed X, and so you know, it may

(15:45):
be that she's at a point inher life that she needs to go and
sit down and enjoy the rest ofher life and not try to handle all
of this stress because I'm sure that'sa major job. Yeah, and it
just may be too big for herat this point. So you know,

(16:06):
it could be a blessing in disguise, you know, if she just steps
aside and go on and enjoy therest of her life and you know,
maybe let somebody else come in andtake over. Because I just think it's
been a lot of stress for her, and I have felt solid for her,
prayed for but I think now it'sjust the right it has been on

(16:26):
the wall, and it's just it'stime for her to just go ahead and
relinquish that position. That's my opinion. Okay, all right, look something
now, I will Okay, Ohman, my my heart definitely does go
out to wonder because I don't knowwhat the situation is, but I this

(16:52):
is a lot, it's a lot. W D I A l O.
How were you. I'm good. How you doing, I'm good. God.
I'm trying to figure out now.People saying the paper tags now when
you purchased a car, I've neverseen them give you the real tag at

(17:15):
that time. So I mean, nobody gets a real tag that same day,
do they? No? No,But there are a lot of people
driving with paper tags. So isthis tag like signing more than the one
thingure you hit the dealer or Idon't know, because you know, at

(17:37):
one point people were buying them offAmazon and stuff like that, so I
don't I don't know, right,I know, when you know, we
purchased out truck, they had tosend out for the tag. You know,
we didn't get a tag nine day. Yeah me either. I didn't
get one either. Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, but I think I

(18:00):
think maybe some people might be usingthem, you know, and you know
what I'm saying that ns Oh,how can I say this? Not know
they're doing some MOBI stuff out there. But my point is you don't get
one when you're purchased of ve hitfor anyway the same day. M hm.

(18:21):
There they'll they'll get counts on herlater. Yeah yeah, mm hmmm.
Believe by one the habert alone toolate, y'all over and over and
over what she needs and they won'tgive it to k too late. She
got she go work it out.She go work it out. Well,
the petition was fould today, andlike I said, according to the commercial

(18:44):
appeal, she's pretty much uh,I don't know. M hm. She
gotta sit down now. Yeah, she's suspended, yeah, from her capacity
as county. I mean, she'slike to the point where she just really
don't share. You know. That'sthat's the attitude that she's having now,

(19:07):
Like it is what it is,but uh, yeah, it might be
time for it to go for real. All right, thank you, Kosher?
Okay, all right, I havea good one. Bye bye.
W D I A lou Hey,I'm good. How are you all right?

(19:29):
You know they are quickly coming afterour elections, our black election,
you know. Uh, but there'sa guy named Robert Connects. You never
heard that name. I you know, I don't know if that's how you
pronounce his last name, but Ithink I do know who you're talking about.
Yeah, yeah, that guy's willprobably work. And this guy has

(19:52):
got a two billion dollars budget andI don't remember electing him to it he
got a bigger budget than the uhthe mayor. He over public works.
He over the we tall, overthe the cold. It wasn't he over
the water he said over the therepayment of the road. It's one guy.

(20:15):
You know, I think that theyneed to we need to do in
investigation on you know, break hisdude is down and see what he's doing.
All them two billions of dollars hegot. You know, that's a
lot of money the whole city budget. But what a vision or something like
that, hm hmm. Yeah,And it says that, yeah, he

(20:37):
is the looks like it says thathe is the he's a director. He's
responsible for the third largest city division. Public Works provides more core services to
citizens within uh waste water and stormwater. I'm looking at his uh LinkedIn

(20:59):
So yeah he's there. We needto see about him. Well, the
public Works wouldn't have listened, itsays, Okay, the Public Works Division
has a total annual OWE and Mbudget over two hundred and twenty million and
over two point zero billion, welltwo billion in planned capital improvement program.

(21:22):
Yeah you got, you got. He's got a job. That's a job,
now about it. He had andI don't remember elected need some about
these being elective like that. Anduh, you know when they got these
the EDGs thing they were talking abouton the news about how they were given
all these companies. Uh, there'sextra what you call incentive money. You

(21:44):
know, we need to check onnext and see what the war they do
with all that money. Uh.They said they get a lot like forty
million dollars to these companies just todo business in Memphis. And that's that's
about the amount of money that mayadd on on payent, on the on
the budget. So we need tochicken that can okay, And perhaps and

(22:04):
thank you for calling in. Perhapsthat's what they're doing. That's what maybe
some of the council members are lookinginto for us w D. I A
hello, Hey, I'm calling aboutone to have it. Yes, ma'am.

Hamilton County District Attorney Cody Wamp hasnow presented an ouster petition. After

(23:41):
a near ten month long investigation ofShelby County Clerk Wanda Halbert, the Ouster.
Position found in court on today doesnot officially remove her from office,
but it does suspend her of herofficial capacity as county clerk. Wow,
let me go to the phone line. Just find out what you guys are

(24:03):
saying today. W D I AHello? Hell? How you doing?
Hey? I'm good. Can youturn your radio down in the background for
me? Please? I can hearyou sign, but I hear your radio
really good. I'm waiting. Yeah, I can't hear you because I can
hear the radio is so good.So if you just walk away from it,

(24:26):
maybe that'll help us ound. Howabout that? How about that?
It's still pretty loud. Uh,that's better. That's better. That's much
better. Talk to me. Okay, I like I wish my sister law
happy Beldy birthday and my brother GregoryWoods and Benny Woods and my birthday is

(24:48):
on the fourtee and I want toget my greater new shallow a shout out
Dens love to have you you there. Yeah, okay, okay, that
was it. Okay, well, happy birthday to everybody and shout out to

(25:11):
your church. Thank you so muchfor uh checking in with me. You
guys, just remember if you wantto be on the radio. Turn your
radios down because I'm gonna get thatfeedback. It's just it, just the
way it works. Yeah, wd I A hello? Hello, Hey,
how are you today? I'm good? How are you today? I'm
good? This is Lily. Ijust I'm right that made this act?

(25:36):
You this? You remember when JanetHooks began working with UH with the clerk,
I do. I remember. Thatwasn't long before miss miss Hooks passed
away, you know, God resther soul, But I remember that,
Yeah, okay, And I wasjust wondering how long did she work there
and did they get anything accomplished whileshe was there? I guess I'm thinking

(25:59):
maybe. I'm thinking maybe it wasa few months, but I'm not sure.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, becauseshe became ill, didn't she?
Yeah, I retired. Yeah.I was just wondering about that. And
also this morning I was speaking toBill Atkins and mister Smiley. You probably
don't remember this. You remember whenMount Bayo the city went broke because this

(26:22):
lady, they said, felt onthe courthouse step and turned around and sued
the city of Mount Bayo because wewent down there to race money for them.
A bunch of people from Memphis, and Bill Atkins was there also,
and I was just wondering. Iasked about the case with the police officers
that was killed, mister McKinnie, and I also asked about Tyree Nichols.

(26:45):
I was acting if they won theirlawsuit, We're would that money come from
their bonds or whatever something. Iknow they have something in place to cover
that if they want their lawsuit. And I was just wondering if all this
tax increase and stuff it's because ofthe lawsuits that are penned in in Memphis,
because we do have quite a few. But that didn't happen in Mount
Vayo because I was down there.I was it was a line of cars

(27:07):
going to bout Mount Bayo to raisemoney for the city because they got broke
because this lady, I think theysay, she fell on the courthouse steps
and she turned them out to thesuper city and they were broke. You
got to seeing them. Yeah, yeah, okay, thank you so much.
All yeah, h w D IA hello, Hey started gee,

(27:30):
hey lady d how's it going. It's going everything is going well. We
woke up this morning. Ra Amenand I fat and you and your lovely
wife, you know, lady ddon't pay them clouds no mind saw that?

(27:51):
Uh huh. As far as Wader, if I was wonder what I
would do. See, you haveto something, pay attention. God send
you warning and he send you fide. What one do now? Just risk
They don't suspended. They gotta payher because they got to pay her.

(28:14):
So don't sweat the small stuff. If they got somebody can do a better
job, let them have and letthem do the job. See, sometime
you have to think outside the box. The woman ain't been in office all
this time. If she was doinga terrible job, that's what people say
to relax and want to say inherself. All equipment, you remember all

(28:38):
them tags that was supposed to bein her office. What is the other
man laying over in the corner somewhere? So Stephen Wanner can see, even
Steven Wander can see. I don'tknow whether it's her or whether it's the
people that she's working. But atthe end of the day, when God

(29:03):
is then it it ain't no living. I wouldn't wear myself to death if
they think I'm doing such a terriblejob. Y'all come in, y'all'll have
me plum the country was shut down. If don't nobody understand them. The
country was shut down. You couldn'teven go in the office. You couldn't
call them about it on the phone. Soon as they opened the country back

(29:26):
up, all we got to getout of here. Nobody want to wait.
I don't see nobody when they goto the grocery store they something to
put this food back because I've beenin line too long? Ify where you
go inside? Yeah, you're rightnow, bet a few times I have
been in the line, Lady denI put myself back and left hide the

(29:47):
grocery store down. I bet ithas happened to me. But what did
you say? You didn't want tostand in the line. You don't want
to stand a lot of that's whatyou do. Yeah, but I'm gonna
say your game. She ain't outand down that long as she was doing

(30:08):
to tell of the job. Ifsomebody won't their seat, why does you
listen to me? Long as theyplaying? You let them have it?
House one, don't quote you gottwo or three more opening now on that
note, storm the teeth have agood all right, lady, d You
know I think two when it comesto man and when you have a position

(30:32):
like that, especially a public position. The last thing you want is to
go out in flames like that. You know what I'm saying. You don't
want nobody putting you out of yourposition. I mean, your ego.
Don't like that, you know.I heard Charles Barkley say talk about Lebron,
and he was saying, I thinkLebron should retire. He said,
I don't want him to be likeme and stay in the game longer,

(30:56):
you know, and and you know, be playing and can't have played.
But of course that's a decision Lebron'sgonna have to make for himself. But
I just you know, you don'twant to go out like that. You
don't want to matter putting you outof something you love to do, you
know, or that you you've beenelected to do. You know, your
ego, you know. Probably Yeah, something's gonna rise up in you and

(31:18):
don't and it's gonna tell you tofight. Now. I don't know if
that's what she's gonna do because we'rejust hearing this news. But yeah,
I can't see her just saying bye. You know, I can't see it.
I can't see it. W GI A hello, Hello, Hey,
hey, hey, I was justtiu on the person I was gonna
want to have her. H huh. And you if you were creeping up

(31:41):
with this when she first took offof the person that left the officer,
the four of her left it indifferent way, a yell, don't have
any woman to her. And thennot only that, she's shorts down.
Say they only played them people downthere sixteen dollars an hour. I know
somebody just went down there for antervieand you saw on the news, you
know, they said they weren't givingthem no ray. So what's up with

(32:01):
this? You can go to McDonald'sand get sixteen dollars, you can.
Ain't they playing fifteen starting out withfifteen? I don't think they're doing that
in the thesis. They really notto be wrong, but I don't think
they're doing that in thesis. Hey, I think they want somebody else for
their job, and they already gotthem picked out. Copy you take notice

(32:23):
Lee Haring's been trying to get herout of them for the longer. Yeah,
But uh, I got my tagand I went to the one on
Riverdale, and I wonder about tenfifteen minutes. So all right, Well,
thank you for calling in. Iappreciate your call. Thank you so

(32:43):
much. Hello, Hello, Hey, how you doing. I'm good?
Okay, Yeah, I knew aLady D. I agree with a lot
Lady D said, but I disagreewith her that what she said, if
storm on the business all this timeand she was doing the she wasn't doing
a terrible job. Well you everthought about they putting it out because she

(33:06):
was doing the terrible job? Yeah, you think about it now. It's
a lot of people the waves onthat. I don't think she just did
a good job herself, to behonest about it. I think she took
that job like a lot of morepeople. Do you You just ran for
office and won the job and didn'thave didn't have a clue of what you
were doing. And and then onthat other day, I was told me

(33:30):
that I'm security guard to shot thatguy Crocus and they gave him life,
which is you know, they don'tface me one way or another. You
had to shot the black guy. They gave them. Yeah, they gave
him life. Okay, what doesshe do with that? With everybody?
Mur people give them life and they'llmake you think about it. That was

(33:52):
slow it down. But I hadno idea he was gonna get life,
they won't give him, and hehad lesslie ballot, so you always taking
three. Yeah, but if youif we're gonna get life for one person
murder, give it everybody, andthey'll make you talk about this crime.
Then that will slow it down.Never stop it, but it slow it

(34:12):
down. Knowing if you murdered somebody, you will be in jail the rest
of your life. It'll make abig change in this city. You're just
night. It's just night because rightnow they get out of jail so quick.
It's like it's like it's like arevolving door, like a resolve.
I'm doing, Like I agree withlady did a lot of stuff you said,
because lady Lady makes a lot ofsense most stuff she said. And

(34:35):
but on this one I kind ofdisagree with her because, like I said,
they might be putting out there becauseshe was doing a terrible job.
The lady did say it like Isaid, she said she would. She
was doing a good job, youknow. So where didn't have to wait
and see you on this one.Yeah, yeah, we just have to
wait and see in your absolutely thankyou so much job. So you're doing
a great job. Thank you somuch. I appreciate you. Thank you

(34:58):
for calling. Yeah, I'm checkingyour emails. You guys, let's see,
Miss Mary said. Regardless of howthis ends, it still is an
elected position, not appointed. Yeah, it's an elected position. Mmmm.
It's interesting though, Like I said, just about ten minutes before the show
came on, today the news dropped. Hamilton County District Attorney Coddy Wamp has

(35:23):
now presented an ouster petition after anear ten month long investigation of Shelby County
Clerk Wanda Halvard. Now, thispetition filed in court today. It doesn't
officially remove her from office, butit is suspending her from her official capacity
as county clerk. If you askme, it's just a hot miss,

(35:45):
the hotmiss dot com all of thepress that's been surrounding this position. I'm
still, you know, wondering. You still got a few minutes to call
in tell me what you think aboutthis. Nine one five three five nine
three four to two. But yeah, it's just been from gas. This
has been a lot. And I'mgonna tell you something. You look at
some of the things that happened herein the city of Memphis, and you

(36:07):
think, man, Memphis is sobad. Look around, man, look
at some news from some other places. You'll see other people got it,
got stuff going on in they citiestoo, wd. I a hello,
hey charming. How you doing?Hey? I'm good queen? How you
doing? None? Good? Good? I want to talk about one to

(36:27):
have. If I were her,I would give them the fight of their
life, because you are absolutely right. I wouldn't let nobody push me out
of my job. And I've beenon that job for a while and I
know my job. They would haveto go through a whole lot before they
get rid of me. And numberone, what's happened to her lawyer that
she had? She probably still hasthem. Well, you know what,

(36:51):
they would have to fight and fireme because I would not walk away from
my job like that, because I'dbe upsetting, especially if I know what
I have. No I've done anythingwrong. Now, if you know you've
done something wrong, it's gonna bea different story. But if I know
my job, and then they voteher into that position, yeah vote it
in this the second time, Well, then you would have to go to

(37:14):
court. We would have to makea decision on that. And because I
would give them the fight of theirlife, I just wouldn't walk away like
that. And I don't even knowher, but I look at the news
and stuff, and I see whatthey're trying to do, you know,
And she's asked for certain things andthey didn't give it to her. So
to me, it's some more problemsthere, and they would have to bring

(37:36):
it out because I would definitely goto court on it. They couldn't get
rid of me long as they could. I would deal with my attorney,
and if he's not the right one, I would get rid of him and
get one that is the right one, because I wouldn't let him push me
to the curve like that. Sothat's all I got to say, because
it really pissed me off about whatthey're trying to do to her. And
I've seen this over the year, storm it. I've seen this in Kansas

(37:59):
City, you know, and whatit was it was all racism, and
that woman fought for her job andshe got it back and they had to
pay her all that back page becauseher lawyer truths that she didn't have all
the stuff that she needed in heroffice to run her office. So if
her I will fight. I wouldn'tjust walk away. So anyway, Starman

(38:20):
you have a wonderful week. Thankyou, you too, love you and
you're doing a good job on youdoing a wonderful bad Thank you so much.
Queen. Okay, yes, ma'am, you know what I'm looking at
wr e G. I don't knowif this is, you know, breaking
from Wanda halberd, but I'm lookingat the story that they've got up.

(38:40):
I'm going to let you hear alittle bit of this. Listen what they
just posted in this channel three firstand four point thirty as investigators launched ouster
proceedings against Shelby County Clerk Wanda Halbert. The Hamilton County DA's office has been
looking into complaints against Halper for months, and now they say they've uncovered evidence
of willful neglect and that wow wow, yeah that's what you're hearing. Dah,

(39:06):
Yeah, that's that's yeah, it'sit's now it's making it too.
I saw it first on Commercial Hill, then Daily Memphi and now it's making
it. The w RG has it, it'll make it I'm sure to other
places as well. W D IA Hello, yeah, this is Booty,
Hey Bootsy, Yes, you knowwhat hay storm and how you doing
on it? There Monday. I'mgood. Well we'd moder nature dropped that

(39:29):
water did. Yeah, it wasa storm in Monday. Sure, Monday.
Well, you know what the goodpart of life. You know what
the good part of life is whenGod just wake you up in the morning,
start you're on your ways, andhe make the plans for you to
follow. Number one plan that Ifollow God every morning is to get up

(39:52):
and thank you well last night keepingrisks. Then I'll start my day off.
I'm a writer. I'm a professionalwriter or author. So I saw
on book number three, which iscalled Parents, Mothers and fall Bos.
It's ten o'clock. You know whereyour children are? Now? That sounded

(40:16):
like a book, real boost. That sounded like a book right there that
I want to read when you getfinished with it. Hit me up,
okay, WD I A hello,heistarmy Hi. I think this was a
slick way to move the first blackwoman elected to that office out of her
position. She was elected to thatposition, and she when she first got

(40:40):
in there, she said the moneywas not adding up. Yeah, she
did say that. And I believethey slick trying to get her out of
there. And we need to standbehind it because it won't stop with her.
Whenever they don't want a black inthere, they'll go out of the
wait, they went to hamp Whatcounty did they go to habit And this

(41:00):
is actually the state of Tennessee thatfiled, uh this information. I'm looking
at this story on w RG.It's actually the state of Tennessee that filed
the petition to remove Shelby County Clerkone to Halbert from office. Yes,
I know, but what county,Hamilton County District Attorney. Okay, they
got somebody who you know, wecouldn't come. We can't vote for anybody

(41:21):
up there. If they had gottensomebody from Shelby County, you know,
we could come at him late ifthey want to run for office. That's
where they went up out of thiscounty to get somebody to get her out
of there. She found she foundthat the money was not adding up.
That's how that is. This geton for good old balls. They still
at work. They haven't gone anywhere. They put Lee Haverton because he first

(41:45):
started singing the tune himself. Theyput him in. Now you know,
you put a black space in ahigh place. We kind of kind of
let them get away with a littleStufford, but we see your Lee,
Lee Harris. Now you need tostand up for this woman and find out
what's really going on. I staidwith Wonder, Okay, I voted for

(42:07):
an hour. Vote for again.Leave Wonder alone, y'all, just get
your business right. Give her themoney to do the office. And I
heard a couple of callers saying thatshe wasn't qualified. She's just as qualified
anybody else had it. Strickland wasn'tstrictly came from what the city council.

(42:27):
He wasn't no, and he gotto be male. Wather been on the
school boards, she been on thecounty commission. She be elected. As
a matter of fact, she camestraight out of WB I remember she was
a caller back in back in theday and Bibbie O Jay suggested that she
runs the office. She had robbingwith the school boy and she read as
she was. So she done worksome way from the ground up. And

(42:53):
I think she know what she's doing. Is just because I don't believe nothing
they say. You got these callers, they ain't. She don't know what
she's doing. She don't know whatshe's doing. She knows just as much
of everybody else. The guy whohad it before her, what he do?
He walked off and left her hideand dry. He's supposed to stay

(43:14):
there in the transition is supposed totake place. He didn't do it.
Now, I'll show you something rightthere. I think it's pure, as
my mama said, pure de racism. That's where they walked that black woman
out of there. And we're gonnastay with Wonder, all right. Bill
Akins, y'all had Bill Atkins.I remember when he said, we was

(43:35):
gonna walk this city in the groundif they had harm one hair on Willie
Heavens's head back in the day.And we're gonna do the same for Wonder.
Y'all better take your hands off forone to leave alone. All right?
Thank you, Tom, You're welcome, and it's moving this away.

(43:59):
I fell to him, coming on, Uh the clerk's office. Let me
see, uh the clerk's office.Well. Wanda Halbert has twenty days to
respond to this Ouster petition and mayrequest a jury trial. According to the
filing, the state has requested hersuspension from office until a determination is made
in this case. WD I Ahello, helloo, hey, how are

(44:23):
you I call? You're welcome wonderhas an answer for them. Okay,
that's all I have to say.Thank you, ma'am. Okay, all
right, I enjoy your show aswell. Thank you so much. Thank
you so much for listening and calling. I appreciate you. All Right,
we're gonna well, we're gonna weI guess we go we gonna find out

(44:45):
what that answer Wanda has. Yeah, got twenty days to respond to that
Oulster petition, and she may requesta jury trial too. The state again
has requested her suspension from office untila determination is made in this case.
Interesting, it's a lot going onaround here. Yeah, I'm going to
