to Memphis and hit the ground running of Michiga Lindsay,
doctor of Michiga Lindsay. Shout out to her and all
the folks that were over there today. I was great
seeing and catching up with some folks and a great
time was had. And now my coworkers, all of them

headed down to Popular Plaza shopping center, Popular and Highland
because that's where the Day of Giving is happening. So
if you want to go down there and help out
the Mid South Food Bank, you still have time to
do that. You got until seven pm tonight to go
down there and help them out there. Let me tell
you they need it.

These lines at Mid South Food Bank when they're helping people,
those lines are getting longer and people need all that
he all of the help that they can care or

Did y'all see Memphis ma Or Paul Young talk about
what happens when the National Guard the federal agencies leave
the city. Mayor Young said that the city has the
national spotlight right now, but the long term future of
Memphis won't be defined by federal help.

We're not gonna let it define us. That's what he said.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
He said, it'll be defined by Memphis. His administration is
building a four point plan with law enforcement and community
safety specialists to help crime reduction efforts. And so he
also reminded the crowd that he was speaking to about
all of this that while challenges remain, focusing on the wins.

Is what keeps hope alive.

What is that?

So this what's happening in Memphis. And here's another thing happening.
You probably saw this too. Shelby County may not be
able to pay its employees yikes for.

The month of November.

Uh huh, that's what they're saying. They may not be
able to pay employees if the Commission doesn't act quickly
on a forty three million dollar issue. The administration said
that the issue is the combination of unexpected cost like
the one point five million from Memphis Safe Task Force
expenses for the Sheriff's office, and not enough revenue. But

even with the approval from the County Commission, they'll also
need approval from the state.

Yeah, that's not something you want to hear around the holidays,
that you might not get paid, that pay might be
a problem.

Are they just not telling us everything in the media,
because if I tell you, this is the most confusing
story I've ever heard. First when they when the story
came out, they didn't tell us any names of what happened.
Then we heard some students were expelled. Now we're seeing
that some adults have been fired or even charged.

I'm so confused.

And then I hear that the the overseer or the
principle or whatever the title is, they were on leave,
but they're back at the school now. So the way
the story is being told, sometimes we don't get it,
you know, quite right, And sometimes anyway, it's very confusing,
and it's yeah.

But something happened over there. It was related to a
sexual assault. I do know.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Some kids have been suspended, and I do know. Sof
y'all know more about that, how I let your girl,
because that one right there that is confusing to me.
Sometimes it takes somebody that's over there to tell you
what's really going on, because we really don't know. And
now it looks like Tammy Sawyer is being sued what
somebody's claiming wrongful termination. Yeah, Jerry Allan Walker claims that

he was fired after he questioned the four thy eight
hundred dollars eight hundred and seventy one dollars expense on
a procurement card used for purchases at a cigar bar,
herber up, excuse me, Uber eats, deliveries, the United bebe
let me see the University of Memphis basketball games, campaign

contributions and more. What Another nine hundred and thirty was
spent on gift cards awarded to two private citizens and.

Whistleblower. Much anyway, he said it was fired. There's a
new lawsuit, so yeah, I'm sure today won't be the
last day we'll hear about that one.

Them Epstein files, the letters that are coming out. I
don't know what's going on, what is happening.

I've been hearing so many names.

who the Democrats, the Republicans. It's just one thing after
another one. But was was y'all believe Trump was over there?

Epstein letters and all that, do y'all believe him? Do

The way he's getting paid and able to do you

something about the principal coming back.

young man he got beat down. I don't know a
correction officer or ask for us or whatever, because they
ain't show it, say here here behind a treat when

getting the name of the people. They're trying to do
the right thing, and you got these bad seeds.

said they're looking into this and they'll get back. They
didn't show him on TV.

I usually leave that up to my daughter makes it.

never made it before, but I wanted to do it.

couple places that need some workers, and I saw work forward.

they're getting sued. That girl that's got that AI song,
k Michelle straight out of Memphis is getting ready to
sue her. Morgan Freeman is getting ready to sue an
AI company for using his voice. So who if you,
