(00:00):
We are Tim Brooke and Beryl andwe're thinking about these everyday heroes that are
popping up. There was the guythat saved the kid from rolling into the
traffic and a little stroller, youknow, the mom got out or the
great aunt got out and fell down, and you just see this security cambridge
footage of the stroller barreling towards trafficand out of nowhere, a guy runs

(00:20):
out and keeps the kid from rollinginto traffic. Yeah. And it was
an Applebee's parking lot, right, and then Applebee's hired this guy for being
such a hero exactly free zip no, not zippes, free dollar retas for
life dollars. There was a nineyear old girl who pulled her three year
old brother out of the pool andthe nine year old started chess compressions on

(00:41):
him. That's amazing, right,So we wanted to hear from the everyday
heroes. Have you saved somebody's lifeand you're not in that profession. Emily's
on the line from Queen Creek.Hello, Emily, tell us a story.
All right. So me and myhusband were on our way back from
our anniversary trip from Mexico City.So mind you, majority of the people

(01:03):
on the plane do not speak English. The guy sitting in front of me
over to my right, so he'sa row in front and over to the
side. He's eating his lunch, and I was kind of like paying attention
to him, and all of asudden, about an hour into the flight,
his head kind of like flops overto the side, and I was
like, I was kind of weird, like he was just eating and now

(01:23):
his head is over to the sideby like tap my husband who's directly behind
him. We were bull sitting aisles. I was like, I don't think
that guy's okay. And he kindof like shrugs me off, and I
keep watching the guy and all ofa sudden, his head like now flops
back and his eyes are like rolledup in his head, and I'm like,
yeah, he's not okay, andhe's like convulsing. So I run

(01:45):
back to the back of the planeand I'm yelling for the flight attendant.
I'm like, I don't think thisguy's okay. So she runs over.
She starts shaking him. He's notwaking up. So they get on the
loudspeaker that they have an emergency umtrying to find someone in Spanish and English,
and we found one doctor on theplane. So I didn't actually save

(02:06):
like I didn't do the chess compressions. Well, I get very very weak
to my stomach, So I'm like, you were trying to make sure he's
okay, but like I want topass out either. You were the first
first responder, though, you alertedsomebody who would have noticed. And this
guy, who knows what would havebeen there? Yeah, I don't know
what would have happened if we didn'twake him up, didn't save his life?
Was he okay? He did?Wait? Yes, he finally came

(02:28):
to I guess he had um likemajor diabetes and partied a little hard in
Mexico City and then the elevation didnot help with the where we were at
Mexico City, so he just wentout. You said, your father in
law, Brick was on a plane. He's a doctor, and they made
the announcement is there any doctors onboard? Yeah, and he helped um.
I don't know if he did CPRor whatever he did, but Delta

(02:51):
gave him two free flights. Didhe helped save this guy? Emily?
Did you get any free flights fromNo? You know what I got I
got a bottle of jack a littletoo hashtag worth it. You can have
some free alcohol. Hey listen,Emily, it's worth it. And you're
a hero in our eyes. Allright, all right, I have a
great day, guys. Two fivek's Tim Brooke and Barrels Confession session.

(03:16):
Well, we were asking for peoplewho've saved a life and that's not there
every day job. You know, they're not a paramedic, nurse or a
doctor. And we've heard some stories. We've heard from a mom whose son
was at the soccer practice where thetwelve year old girl recently I guess last
Friday, Well, twelve year oldgirl had a cardiac arrest. Yeah,
so scary, and one of theparents stepped in and did CPR and you

(03:38):
know she's okay. Now there they'rehad some heart condition. They got a
go fund me page for a littlegirl. Do you see the picture of
her. She's so adorable, andit's like, oh my gosh, she
had a heart attack. I knownow she needs a pacemaker. Very scary.
Also, Victor is on the linefrom Cassa Gran what'd you do?
So the first time at alex Finders, I took my daughter with me and
we're over there and they're in thebasketball court and I'm they're working out,

(04:00):
and uh, she comes screaming outof the basketball courts yelling for me,
Dad, Dad, we need you, we need you. I said,
what time. She goes some guypassed out on the basketball. Of course,
so I ran in there and he'splaying. This old guy's playing basketball
with these young guys. I go, okay, call nine one one.
So I start compressions. And Ilooked at one of the kids that's working
there and I go, hey,go get the defense off the wall,

(04:23):
and he goes, what's that. You gotta be kidding me. So I
send my daughter and she goes thereand gets it, and so I'm love.
They're doing compressions and a guy comesin with it. He goes,
hey, I'm a doctor, letme help your kid. Okay, hook
him up. So we're doing compressions, and he hooked them up and we
popped them a case stand back,Boom comes back to life, boom.

(04:44):
All right, guys, he savedthem. So that was the first one,
and everybody's like, everybody's like wow. So the second time, wait,
you got you got another one.I saved two guys at l a
Thinness. All right, listen, hang hang out with a second story.
How do you think who not one, but two people at a La Fitness.
I want that guy around at alltimes. He's a superhero. It's

(05:06):
Tim Brooke and Barrels confession session andwe're asking have you ever saved somebody's life?
And that's not your everyday job?And Victor was in the middle of
telling us about two times it's happened. He told us the first time he
had saved the guy's life had aheart attack at La Fitness in Cassa grad
and uh, it happened again.Tell us about the second time. Me

(05:26):
and my wife were at La Fitnesson Valentine's Day, to believe it or
not not, at dinner we're workingout so romantic. I know it was
crazy and I heard this scream.I go, oh, that's not good.
So I went straight to the dechip, pulled it out the ball.
The guy goes, what are youdoing? I go, don't worry
about it. I got it.So I went over there and this guy
was doing some pulldowns on a machineand his wife's like, help and help

(05:53):
and help him. I'm like, okay, everybody stamp back. So I'm
doing depressions. I put one patchon, one patch on, I hit
the machine, boom, and there'sbob like six people standing around. So
I get the green button, comesback to life and there's a guy standing
angles. Oh my god, you'rean angel. You're an angel. And
now I'm I'm a coach, andI know how to save people live.

(06:15):
And that's what where do you coach? So it was, well, I
coach volleyball and baseball for twenty eightyears. Agoging'm in high school. Okay,
all right, so this is true. I coach softball, high school
softball. I've done it for seventeenyears. Every year I have to get
certified through CPR. It's like anonline course five hours long. I can
do uh CPR, but I cando everything from amputations to venomous snake bites.

(06:38):
If there's a venomous snake bite duringa softball game, I know how
to make a turniquet, right,So I'm there. Yeah, yeah you
can. Yeah, we don't havea lot of those softball but well,
I'm glad you were there. Wellhere's a lesson. I know it's crazy.
Well, Victor, you are ahero. We salute you here.
Yeah, if you're ever working outat a LA Fitness, don't look like

(07:00):
you're resting or there's a chance ofvictor will slap the defibrillator, ride the
lightning man than sebdy oh Man twiceat one LA Fitness. Do you really
feel like you could save a life? Get the dfib out and save somebody.
Here here's the thing, the detail. I'm not sure I know how

(07:21):
to work the detail because you haveto learn in this CPR training. But
the guy who teaches the CPR courseonline, he's a paramedic, knows what
he's talking about. He says,if you, he says, there's a
lot of guilt in people who doCPR because they don't save the patient.
But he said, think of itthis way. You are giving them a
small chance to live, and ifthey don't live, that's not on you.

(07:44):
He said. Most people, unfortunately, if they need CPR, they're
not going to make it, whichis really kind of a sort of a
sad thought, right if you're doingit, but they say do it,
you absolutely have to do it,but don't feel the guilt if it doesn't
save their life, because most peoplewho need it are in such a bad
place that oftentimes it doesn't save them. Yeah, I'd be worried, though,
Tim, that you would show uplate. Tim would be late for

(08:07):
his CPR. He would like togive the person to be sorry. I
was taking a dapt why track realquick. Miss you guys, Well,
thank you out there. All youever to hear us. We love you,
we need you. We're glad you'relistening to one or two five k i X
