Mac and Schmitty in the morning onWest Michigan's Christmas station Star one oh five
point seven. Well, good morning, sch Middy, Happy weekend. Ah,
Yes, it's creeping up here fast. But yeah, but yeah,
found our chilliest week of the yearthus far. And you know, there
was just a little bit of snowleft on the ground. And I got
into the world's most pathetic snowball fightwith my kids yesterday. You have enough,

(00:22):
We had just we don't have enough. That's what I mean by pathetic.
It was like doing work to getlike puny, tiny little snowballs that
we would then run about as closeas we could to the other person,
and they were already melted. Itwould sort of explode before you ever even
got it to the person that'd beingsaid. You know, whitewashes and being
tackled to the ground still had itseffect as a dad's I mean, you
look out the window this morning, like my car had a little bit of

(00:44):
frost on it, and the groundlooked really frosty. It looked looked like
it'd be the coldest morning of them, but like it's so warm it feels
amazing. It's gonna be mid fortiestoday. I had people saying they're gonna
wear shorts to work. We've flippedthe sweats ladies. This is West Michigan.
We've gone from like, oh mygosh, it's thirty degrees this morning,
Like, are you kid me?It's thirty degrees this morning? Wear
your t shirts at forties today?Hello? You follow anybody in the Midwest

(01:04):
on TikTok, They're like, well, lay out. It's these days that
are notorious for my kids losing theirwinter gear though, like, oh it
was forty five degrees. I hadto shud layers dad, and then after
that they just disappeared into the etheragain. It's the weirdest thing. Movies,
music and all the gossip in oneplace. It's the celebrities gooop on

(01:25):
Star one oh five point seven.Well, one of the most powerful political
figures in US history has passed away. Doctor Henry Kissinger, the man who
shaped foreign policy in the US fordecades, passing at his home in Connecticut
yesterday at the age of one hundred. The cause of death still unclear,

(01:45):
but Kissinger is widely considered to bethe most powerful Secretary of States since World
War Two. Of course, heserved as a top advisor for both Presidents
Richard Nixon and President Gerald Ford.A lot of world leaders reacting to the
news, former President George W.Bush saying America has lost one of the
most dependable and distinctive voices on foreignaffairs. He was even given quite a

(02:08):
bit of praise on Chinese television. Many on social media in China even mourning
his passing, state broadcaster CCTV sharinga segment of Kissinger's first secret visit to
the country in nineteen seventy one, praising him for opening up US China relations.
Y Gale, major political figure,Schmiddi, And you know, he

(02:30):
was before our time, and sowhenever I heard his name, I always
thought it sounded like the world's greatestsuper villain. Like I didn't know anything
about him until I rest. Kindof before our time. He has been
on the political stage pretty much forhis entire life. He was having conversations
as recent as President Trump. Sohe's been a part of this fixture for
a very, very long time.Mark Cuban, the Shark Tank exec and

(02:54):
entrepreneur, is not going to berunning for president. Omers were swirling yesterday,
especially after he sold off a bigmajority stake in the NBA's Dallas Mavericks.
He made quite a pretty penny onthis sale, by the way.
Bought the team in two thousand fortwo hundred and eighty five million, just

(03:15):
sold it for three point five billion. So a lot of people online going
here we go, Mark Cuban's runningfor president. Get ready for Cuban.
In twenty twenty four, he says, not the case at all. Going
on a campaign trail next year isgalaxies off quote unquote, adding my family
would actually disown me. Now.It is not the first time he's talked

(03:37):
about running for president. He hasentertained the idea before. He even said
in a podcast back in twenty seventeenthat he was thinking of running as a
Republican to challenge Donald Trump, butin the end his family voted down that
serious desire for presidents, you know, out of businessman, financier, celebrities,
whatever you have it, that wouldrun for president. I kind of

(03:58):
like Mark Cuban. I love whathe's doing with prescription drugs, with that
program that he start, and itgoes to show you people do enjoy the
idea of a businessman running our country. So Cube in twenty twenty eight,
you heard it here first. Finally, we had the big Rockefeller Center tree
lighting last night, and another thanKelly Clarkson work in double duty as both
host and performer at the ninety firstAnnual celebration. Gorgeous tree, but a

(04:32):
lot of fans once again talking aboutKelly's appearance. She looked fantastic. She
did this fringe bang thing with herhair. But the amount of weight Kelly
has lost is once again churning upconversation. Her rep has said once again
it had nothing to do with surgeryor ozebic or anything like that. She
has simply increased working out, iseating a lot better, and this happens

(04:57):
to be her most favorite season.Just a couple of weeks ago, she
was talking in an interview and said, my Christmas records mean more to me
than any of my other records.I love this season. It's why I
have a ranch in Montana. Thesnow looks like a fresh start every day
you wake up, and that's whatdrives me that And you know doesn't hurt
to have a revenge Bob fresh fromdivorce. Right, she looks incredible.

(05:17):
All of your celeb scoop at WestMichigan Star dot Com Dominal five points seven
high there and he smack and schmitty, And I want to ask you about
something smitty that we all see everywhereconstantly now, and it didn't quite used
to be this way. People justwearing headphones all the time, well,
especially if you've got the air pods, because they're just sitting in your ear.
I wear really bulky, huge, like noise canceling headphones, So that

(05:40):
kind of limits the places that you'reI'm listening to something, right, because
to me, it used to besomething you're working out, you're at the
airport. Those are the kind ofpublic places that everybody wears headphones. It's
accepted, and we've been all doingit for a long time back when we
had walked me in, you'd walkthrough the airport with your headphones in.
Now though it's everywhere constantly, andI thought, you know, society has
just sort of accepted this to someextent, and then nobody wants to call

(06:03):
anybody else out for doing this anymore, even though I got some issues with
it. Where in public do youthink it's not appropriate? Because yesterday I
thought I was going to a placethat was appropriate, and other people had
even told me to do it.I went to the dentist with headphones.
So I told you, you know, I've got that. I had to
get the root canal. Yeah,I got the root canal yesterday and it

(06:24):
was it was fine, not aproblem with that. But I was told,
you know, it might be liketwo hours that you're chilling in the
chair too, so bring some headphones, listen to an audiobook or listen to
some music. People said that areyour dentists. My people said that,
Okay, my dentist definitely felt theopposite. WHOA. So I go in
there and I'm waiting and the hygienistjust get me prepared for the dentist to

(06:45):
come and start things, and I'mlike, can I just pop in my
headphones? And she goes, whydon't you ask the doctor? And I
knew right from the way she saidthat that this was going to be something
that annoyed him. And the doctorwas this super friendly guy to the end
of Dante. So I'd never reallyhung out and you know, interacted with
him before, so soft spoken andnice and everything. A bit a bit

(07:08):
older. Yeah, definitely in thiswell, he's going He's talking to me
very softly and very calming, andI'm like, man, what a great
voice for a dentist. And thenI'm like, hey, doct you mind
when we get this thing started,I put in my headphones here and listen
to an audiobook and he goes, well, actually, yes, I do.
I don't want to shout at youwhen I need you to follow my

(07:29):
instructions. And it's he's like,He's like, it's a safety thing,
and it's a personal preference, becauseI actually think it's rude to go to
someone's workplace and not be present forwhat's happening around you. And I'm like,
okay, know what has sufficed.I'm good with the no. But
no, you got straight up stolda little bit. He's about to drop
you from his practice. He saidit in the world's nicest tone, though

(07:51):
SHMITTI I mean, I'm literally he'dbe a great hypnotist. I mean,
this guy's voice was final. It'sinteresting because a lot of dentists provide you
headphones, but is it headphones tolisten to something or headphones just to plug
it and like cover your listen tosomething. I have never been back.
I have a lot of places Iknow that are like, oh, if
you're interested, here's part of theexperience. I've never worn them to the

(08:13):
dentist, but I like talking tomy hygienist, so that's probably why.
And I've never had any kind ofsurgery, so I don't know if it's
a longer one. Yeah, forme, as long as you are not
ordering anything. It drives me nutsto be standing in line behind someone,
whether it's food, coffee, whatever. Yeah, get off your phone,

(08:33):
take your headphones out. I thinkit is so rude when another human being
is trying to have a conversation withyou and serve you in some kind of
way and you're on a phone call, especially if you're bluetoothing it. Yeah,
so they don't know if you're talkingto them or if you're talking to
someone on the other end. Hangup, turn off the audiobook, cut
the music, and have a oneminute conversation and move along. I think

(08:54):
that is so rude. I can'tstand it when somebody is working and they
got headphones in or even just theone AirPod in where they're like, you
know, they're working as a cashierat a gas station. They're working and
doing it and it's like you're workingright now. This isn't like just this
have this in here. I justthink that that's super rude to do.

(09:15):
And I know teachers, especially collegeteachers. College professors say all the time
students are wearing those EarPods in lectureslike what are you there for? So
you put this on Facebook? AndI gotta tell you, Benjamin Patty,
Sheryl Greg, I don't know whatchurch you go to, but if I
ever was caught wearing headphones at church, the mom eyes I would have gotten

(09:39):
the come to Jesus following Mass andthe amount of grounding I would have looked
at for wearing headphones to church.Correct, I would ever ever do that?
Yeah, I was gonna say asa kid, I couldn't get back
and get away with like playing witha pair of keys in church. I
mean, if I wasn't looking forI would be able to get the tap

(10:01):
on the leg like what are youdoing right now? To true church?
And we got to take the headphonesoff for Jesus. Where in public does
it actually bother you when people arewearing headphones? Six one six four five
eight one oh five seven or youcould hit us up on Facebook at West
Michigan stock sometimes does that get agood feeling? Oh? I love it
when two of my favorite things cometogether, Schmidty, and that's what we

(10:24):
got for you today. Start oneto five point seven. Mack and Smitty
was feeling good right now, andI'm talking about the Helen de Oz Children's
Hospital and the Christmas Light Show.Cause the last night patients and their families
welcoming up to the light show fora very discounted rate where they could go
around the Christmas Light Show and checkout all those amazing lights, the over

(10:46):
two million lights that are waiting upthere for you. And really really cool
because the kids got to not onlygo with their families, but staff members
from the hospital actually were out therein costumes, I yeah, hanging out
some goodie bags. Really really coolfor them to do it. And then
two of my favorite people talk tow ZZM, doctor Jim Fonner, who,

(11:07):
of course the executive director of philanthropyfor the hell of As Children's Hospital
but basically like the hospital mascot. We love that guy. And Bill Schrader,
the ninety four year old veteran who'sbeen doing this now for twenty six
years. Schmidty, who puts upthe lights each and every year, always
adds more to it and loves doingit for the kids. Both of them
got to chat on the impact ofbeing able to be a part of this

(11:30):
with WZZM. This is a specialopportunity for them to really bond and to
encourage and to hopefully inspire those kidsand families who are on long and difficult
medical journeys to know that childhood isstill special and magic and the holidays are
healing and hopeful time for everybody.Brings a tear to your eyes to see
all these happy people come through. This is one of the things that we

(11:52):
pretty cherish doing and it's a lotof fun, but you have a lot
of satisfaction of saying you help someYeah, it was great to see the
reaction from the kids on those videos. Put it up for you West Michigan
Star dot com. But just wantedto shout out doctor Fonner and the crew
from helend of Os Children's Hospital.Of course our friends at the Christmas light
Show. And I'll let you know. A week from today our radiothon for

(12:13):
the helend of Os Children's Hospital kicksoff, So please join us for two
days of life changing programming. It'sgoing to be incredible because of you.
I thought this was so cool.A West Michigan High School has unveiled get
This, a new five million dollarculinary arts space being described as a quote

(12:35):
modern Food Network style kitchen. Bigshout out to East Kentwood High School.
This brand new facility includes two differentclassrooms, each with eight cooking stations,
high grade commercial equipment, even highdepth video monitors that allow students to watch
their instructor doing cooking demonstrations from anywhereeight thousand beautiful square feet of space.

(13:00):
Nikoldaikstra is actually with the lead instructorhere and she is working with newly hired
chef Donald Ram, who said thespace elevates the way students think about a
cooking career. He tells em Live, it changes their perspective. It's not
like we're just making a sandwich. We're making things from scratch, and to

(13:20):
do what you would do at aculinary school at a high school level is
really cool. They're in the mindsetof I'm just looking to cook for me.
They don't see it as a potentialcareer. We are shaping new dreams
here and that's exactly the case forsenior Breonna Hefron, talking to EM Live,
saying she's loving the class. Herdad has been in the food business
for thirty years and now because ofthis opportunity, she's hoping to continue the

(13:43):
legacy. So I just want toshout out East Kentwood because that is money
well spent. I think it's avery cool program. I'm just wonder if
the lunch ladies are angry, likeif they're like, hey, can we
use the space or are we stillover here? Lunch ladies, you're serving
the delicious food. Take the credit. Good comes out to you twice to
day here to pick you up andshed's spread some positivity that you can bring
with the end of the rest ofyour day. Let's do it again this

(14:05):
morning, nine to twenty right hereon Start one oh five point seven West
Michigan's Christmas Station, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
It's the celebrities Goop on Star oneoh five point seven. Well I
mentioned there would only be maybe onereason that Taylor Swift would jet out of

(14:26):
Kansas City after spending the last fewnights with boyfriend Travis Kelsey, and that
is for Beyonce. Yes, indeed, Taylor's hopping on her private jet to
head to London for the big Britishpremiere of Beyonce's new Renaissance film. Fans
were delighted to hear this, bythe way, because of course Beyonce came
to the La premiere of Swift's Aristourfilm back in October, so people were

(14:48):
really concerned that Swift might not beable to return the favor because of her
crazy schedule. But of course herinternational Erastour is now done for twenty twenty
three, so she was at thesecond greeting, which will be in London
tonight. I mean, you hadto return that favor, Beyonce showing up
for your movie premiere and then younot doing anything. Yeah, you figured
there'd be a way for her tofigure out how to get there. Britney

(15:11):
Spears once again has fans a bitconcerned with her Instagram posts, very very
strange. This one went up yesterdaymorning. It showed Beyonce or not Beyonce
Brittany kind of like rolling around inher sheets. She was clearly nude,
and she was talking in this likebaby voice, good morning, good morning.

(15:37):
She's really lost. Then she posteda completely nude picture from the beach.
There were more dancing videos that wentup there as well. Now remember
she has said in her best sellershe feels more empowered than ever taking and
posting pictures of herself like this. But it didn't stop fans from popping into
those comments and going, oh,this is just not a look of healths.

(16:00):
Yeah, but she wasn't playing withknives around her dogs either, So
I mean, you take the goodwith the bad. I guess. I
don't know if this is not asbad. It's the way her face is.
I'll put it up on our Instagramyou can see for yourself. Finally,
Amanda Bines has a new project. The former Nickelodeon star is starting a
new podcast. This will be veryinteresting too, because it is going to

(16:22):
be about show business. The thirtyseven year old actress said she is collaborating
about the entertainment industry with her bestfriend Paul Saminski, who is a biochemist
and scientist. So we're getting kindof a little bit of a look here
that she might be going the routeof that mental health side of the entertainment

(16:45):
industry. She says they actually metin treatment. They have very similar interests
and their goal is to start abeauty brand in the future. After they
kick this podcast off. It's goingto be called Paul and Amanda. You
know, I bet she's got someilluminating things to talk about too, because
she's quiet while she's gone through thesevery very public mental health struggles of her
own. So I'm sure having aplatform to go and share those experiences is

(17:07):
going to be well, it's gonnabe really good news because it means if
she's willing to talk about it inthis form, she is feeling really really
good because she's someone that has kepther health as the biggest focus. I've
got some more details about that podif you'd like, with your scoop at
West Michigan Star dot com. Goodon into you. It's Mack and Schmiddi
and yeah, this is an interestingconversation. Schmittie, Well, it's one

(17:30):
that is very foreign to me becausegrowing up like this would never have been
a thing for me. But recently, my five year old who is in
kindergarten, woke up one day forschool and I'm never at home in the
mornings obviously with this schedule and theseshows. And I got a call from
her husband and he's like, hey, you know, he is having a

(17:52):
hard time today. Just feels likeyou know, big feels I don't think
he slept well. He had areally really tough few days earlier. I
think, I think I'm just gonnakind of give him a mental health day.
And I was like, oh,yeah, that actually like that,
that sounds that sounds good. Didhe probably, you know, just needs
a chance to recharge, you know, peaceful setting nothing to you. And

(18:14):
he's like, you know, hissister's still gonna go to school, but
I think he just kind of needsthe day. We'll spend some time,
we'll run some errands, and we'lljust kind of calm things down a bit.
And I was really appreciative of that. I'm so I was just so
moved by his like intuitiveness about it. Never in my childhood would I have
ever been allowed to take a mentalhealth day from school. And I think

(18:36):
this is a really interesting conversation tohave because mental health has become such a
big part of the conversation lately.Do you believe in that for your kids?
Would you give your kids a dayoff of school to recharge? You
know? I think this is reallyfunny in the sense of we're both a
couple of teacher kids, right,Yeah, But my teacher mom would never

(18:57):
have let this happen. He wouldhave laughed me out of the thing.
Even if I was sick, Ihad to be pugan or I had to
have a few We didn't even missschool for vacations we did not know.
We did not take trips during theschool year, if it was spring break
or Christmas break. It was justvery important. But and I'm not a
teacher, but I do even thinkteacher friends of mine feel the same way.

(19:17):
They're like, yeah, I thinkkids, you know, one or
two mental health days a year isonly going to do them good. I
can think about this from just myperspective as a parent with my own two
children. And while I think thatit's totally kid dependent, right, like
you know your kid better than anybodyelse, so you know whether or not
this is something they can take from. I know my kids, and I
know my kids would try and takeadvantage of this. I know that if

(19:40):
my son had, you know, saw my daughter take up mental health day
and that we talked about it openlylike that, that my little crafty,
little faker would be in there going. You know. Sometimes I just I
just don't feel like I can goto school today like he would. A
parent disadvantage I agree with that, but I think we all know too that
kids know how to push their parents'buttons to some extent. And often Michelle

(20:03):
and I, if we argue aboutsomething, it's because I feel like my
son is trying to pull a fastone on her and she doesn't see it
that he is acting or he isvisa yahav and shit. I also think
there is an age thing here aswell, Like I have a kindergartener who
loves school the same amount that heloves me. He wants to be there

(20:25):
seven days a week. He lovesit so much so for him to be
having a hard time thinking maybe wetake today, I won't hie. If
I had like a seventh grader tellingme this, I'd be like, but,
like, you know what, maybewe just have a red bull and
get on with our day. Maybethat's unfair of me as a mom,
Maybe that makes me a bad mom. But like in high school and stuff,
I think, gosh, there's somuch pressure, there's so much going

(20:47):
on that sometimes I think it canbe a good thing. Never would I
ever have thought i'd say that backwhen I was a kid. What do
you think about this? Giving yourkids a mental health day from school six
one six, four five eight, one oh five seven, Am I crazy?
Is my millennial showing. I thinkit's a good idea here and there.
I'd be interested to know how officesare going to take that excuse?

(21:10):
Do you tell them? Do yousay they're not feeling well today? You
just go with it not feeling wellbecause there there are states that allow for
mental health days in but to meetmental health is physical health. It's the
same thing. They're not feeling well, they can't come in today. End
of story. And you don't needto say any You don't need to say
any more because I think there's aslight difference in that, like are you
a contagious? Lines are blowing upall right, fo one oh five seven?

(21:33):
What do you think about this?Kids taking a mental health day?
Gets back and SETTI and man,the lines lit up with this one s
midding giving your kids a mental healthday off? Fay, Good morning star.
Who's this born? Then? Thisis Stephanie. Hi, Stephanie,
where are you calling from today?I am calling from Sheridan, Michigan,
and I totally agree that our kidsare totally entitled to at least one mental

(21:56):
health day. On my daughter's elevenin sixth grade, and it's hard.
The end eleven in today's the worldin sixth grade is middle school. It's
hard. So I do. Italk to her and she knows if she's
struggling. We don't make a habitof it, but she gets at least
one mental health day a year.See. I like that you don't make
a habit out of it, Butdon't you also feel your relationship with her

(22:18):
is better too, because she's socomfortable to be open with you and say,
hey, having a tough time, can I take the day all?
Hundred percent? Absolutely? That's awesome, Stephanie. Thanks for your call.
You guys rock I love you,Thank you, Thank you, Stephanie.
We love you too. Appreciate that. Hi Star. Who's this? It's
a Mike from Kalamazoo. Mister Mikefrom Kalamazoo. What do you think about

(22:38):
this? Mike? Well, Ihave to say that the mental health days
are a real thing because my youngestdaughter has used it a couple times in
high school and it was helpful ordid you feel like she was trying to
get away with something? No?I think it was very helpful. So
the only weird thing is the firstthing she does. I swear she goes
to Starbucks and gets herself a coffeeand then stays in here pa jabas and

(22:59):
then it's like, so, Ifeel like she does relax and such,
and I do understand it's pretty stressfulsometimes coffee and jammy sounds like the greatest
self care. Yeah, so Ido my wife and I do let them
periodically do it, you know, mental health day, we'll call it all
right. As a dad, though, Mike, do you feel like teenage
girls might need a mental health day? Like, I don't know, four

(23:21):
days a week. No, theyshe's responsible about it. I like that
you give her that trust and shedoesn't take too much of it. And
you're a good dad, Mike.I appreciate that. I have a great
morning you too. Bye, guys, Good morning star. Who's this?
This is Rebecca? Where you atthis morning? Rebecca grand Rapid? Have
you given your kids a mental healthday? I sure have. Yes,
i have. And I've talked withthe counselors at school and the staff,

(23:45):
and they are very supportive when weknow as a parent what our child is
going through. And I have tosay, even though I was raised in
the eighties by a principle, andmy mother had great discretion already. Back
then I was a law to fivechildren, and even in high school,
she would see what I was goingthrough and I was a straight A student,
and she said, I think youneed a mental health day. Use

(24:08):
that term way back then, soI have cares. It's only because you
were the baby in the family.I'm telling you, the oldest one.
I never goes. I do thinkthat. And you know what, I'm
considering you. You are the professional. You've got a lot of evidence here,
so you make me feel like thiswas a good choice. I appreciate
that. Thank you. I havea great morning you too, And it's

(24:30):
not often I get people telling meI'm a good mom. So thank y'all.

(27:27):
again, not surprising, Taylor Swifthas taken the top spot as the most
streamed artist in the US. Ofcourse, we're at the end of the
year, so a lot of thesemost streamed this and that campaigns pop up
twenty six point one billion plays worldwide. Interesting, though her album Midnights the

(27:52):
second most streamed album globally, BadBunny um Verano Cinti that top spot,
he continues to be wildly popular.Bad Bunny in second place, as the
most streamed artist as well, followedby the Weekend and Drake, which I
thought was very very interesting. MorganWallen's Last Night was the country's chart most

(28:15):
streamed song. And check this out. It's like everything Taylor touches becomes big.
Travis Kelsey and his brother Jason Kelsey'spodcast New Heights number one sports podcast
in the world. You know, all right, it's not It is not
just the Eras Tour. It isliterally the Taylor Swift era. That's what

(28:36):
we're living in, ladies and gentlemen, it is. But I just I
think it's so interesting that bad Bunnyis so universally that guy is just loved.
All right, Let's get to theserious royal dish. Wow, are
the pr people gonna be working inovertime this morning? I have the story
yesterday this new royal book from anauthor call the Omen Scobie had apparently talked

(29:03):
about this allegation from Megan Markle thatwhen she got pregnant, there were certain
members of the firm as they callthemselves, that were questioning what her son's
skin color might be. Now,we never knew who those people were,
but somehow in the Dutch version ofthis new book they were named. Now,
those books were pulled off the shelvesthat same night. Nobody was going

(29:26):
to say anything until Pierce Morgan anuncensored last night. He still maintains he
doesn't believe any of this happened, but he does drop the names because I
don't believe any racist comments were evermade by any of the royal family,
and until there is actual evidence ofthose comments being made, I will never
believe it. But now we canstart the process of finding out if they

(29:49):
ever got uttered, what the contextwas, and whether there was any racial
intent at all. Like I say, I don't believe there was. The
royals who were named in this bookare King Charles and Catherine, Princess of
Wales. Now, I'll tell youthe Internet's reaction to this. Not A

(30:11):
lot of people were surprised to hearKing Charles's name brought up, because he
had been someone that was maybe rumoredto say this. A lot of people
were really surprised to hear Kate's name. Yeah, they're not talking this morning
about it. A lot of theInternet feels that this was very, very
very poor taste for Pearce to dothis. Clearly they did not want these
names to get out, he felt. Listen, if you can read it

(30:33):
in a Dutch bookstore, you,as tax paying British citizens who fund the
Royal family, should know what thenames were as well. I, however,
am standing by the fact that Idon't believe any of this happened.
I mean, it's never going tobe something that could really be confirmed by
anyone other than someone who was inthe room, right Like it's going to
have to come from Megan or Harryor Kate or Charles themselves. I mean,

(30:53):
it's interesting these names aren't even printed. When I was looking at stories
all over the internet today, thiswas the only spot I could find this
because they just said that he saidthe names and did not write the names.
Let's get to the ongoing legal dramabetween Hall and Oates, who are
now apparently done or good in theeyes of Daryl Hall. So we knew
there was a lot going on.I reported about this restraining order, but

(31:15):
now the beef has been laid outin new legal docs that it were just
unsealed. Darryl explains they had agreedto a business divorce, if you will,
last year where they were going tostart splitting up their assets. However,
according to Darryl, things went southand John secretly went behind his back
to sell half of his company calledto a company called Primary Wave, half

(31:40):
of his music library to a companycalled Primary Wave. Darryl says he was
completely blindsided by this, and hewas told about it two days before he
was leaving on tour, and hesays John's timing was intentional. Daryl says,
I have no intention of becoming partnerswith Primary Wave. Oates cannot be
permitted to thrust a new partner uponme in such an outrageous fashion. We

(32:04):
are done. I mean, thesetwo have not liked each other for a
very long time, but I gota feeling they're getting to places where like
when one of them passes, we'renot going to funerals. We're not talking
to them. We don't get no, no, no no, And how
dare don't you dare ever say?Halloos? The fact that I just brought
that up all of your celeb scoopsand more bombshells in those legal ducks as
well. West Michigan Star dot com. It's telling a fine point seven.

(32:28):
I talked about it and feeling good, so cool to see all the kids
from the Helen De Boss Children's Hospital. They're at the LMCU Ofall Park for
the Christmas Light Show last night.Yeah, very cool, But we want
to get your family out there thisholiday season. We are playing Battle of
the Sex. Is your chance toget a car pass right now so the
entire family can experience the over millionlights out there ready. One hundred women

(32:50):
surveyed, Name something frothy, realeasy this morning? Name something frothy,
you know, like whenever I geta cappuccino, if I don't have enough
froth on there, SCHMITTI I'm alittle bit upset. I need the froth
like that's absolutely enjoy every time.Never spright six one, six, four,
five eight, one oh five seven. One hundred women surveyed, Name

(33:12):
something frothy collar seven. First chanceat the number one answer, we could
be handing you a Christmas Light showcar pass with star one oh five point
seven one. Hi Star? Who'sthis Kelly, Kelly? Where are you
calling from today? Byron Hunter?Right, Kelly, Let's try and get
you out to the Christmas light showthere at LMCU Ballpark. Uh, you

(33:35):
got to tell me. When onehundred women were asked to name something frothy.
What their top answer was. Firstoff, frothy is a is just
a strange word in general to describesomething. It's frothy, it is.
It was a little bit of aone. So I think we're gonna stick
with our original answer, which ishot chocolate, hot chocolates. You know,
a little hot coco in there.I want to put that with my

(33:59):
cappuccino. Guess on there a littlebit too. Some frothy hot coco with
marshmallow sounds real good for the holidayseason. But that is actually the number
three answer on there. Kelly,oh Man, I know, sorry about
that. Have a great day though, Kelly. Yep, you hi star.
Who's this? This is Brad,Brad. We're you coming from today
man calling from Kelmazoo. All right, Brad, I just got a great

(34:19):
guest from Kelly. When one hundredwomen were asked to name something frothy,
she went with hot coco slash cappuccino, which was a great guest but number
three most common answer there. Brad'syou got a chance to win this pass
for the Christmas Light Show. Whatdo you think it is? Oh?
Okay, so they already had hotcoco and cappuccino. What do you guys
think. Okay, we're gonna gowith an alcoholic beverag h and go with

(34:42):
a beer. You're gonna go withan alcoholic beverage of beer. You said,
it sounds like your kids are inthe car. They are, but
my wife is also, so we'llsee. I take it to that's the
right one there. Always listen tothe wifey, Well done. Beer is
the top anger. All right, there we go, grad relations. The
whole car is gonna be going tocheck out the Christmas Light Show at LMCU

(35:04):
Ballpark. Oh well, that's great. We're so excited. Heck yeah,
it's gonna be a great time upthere. Over two million lights waiting for
you and the family, and itis open every single night right up through
New Year's Eve. And we willkeep hooking you up at these passes every
morning with Battle of the Sexes eightpoint fifteen. But congratulations to you and
the crew. Merry Christmas, guys, Thank you. Merry Christmas for you
too. Sometimes because I get agood feeling. It is the most wonderful

(35:29):
time of the year, and youshould feel that way too. We try
and help out with that. It'sfeeling good right now and starting a five
point seven mackache Midi with you.I love this. I've seen it implemented
across the country and now we haveour very own Ingrand Rapids a student bike
bus. A lot of these TikTokand Instagram videos have gone viral over this.
A group of people that will bikejust school, calling themselves the bike

(35:51):
Bus. Martin Johnson started the bikebus group. They biked a Grand Rapids
Montessori and Congress Elementary. She tooksome training online and started the program back
in the spring, but admits shehad a hard time getting some momentum for
the group, so she hosted someinterest meetings in the summer, got it
started again this past fall, justa couple months ago, and now has
a bunch of families that each biketo school once a week. Usually they

(36:15):
do this on Wednesdays. And shesaid, you know, it is really
cool to see how this has organicallygrown. It's cool to see people engaging
in it. She tells Wood TV. This is absolutely incredible and the parents
love it too. John Morris rideswith the group along with his eight year
old son Andrew, who is veryenthusiastic about it, and parents are saying

(36:35):
they've seen so many benefits. ArielEllis is one of those parents who said,
get this. The bike bus hascompletely gotten rid of the post school
meltdowns for kids. She tells WoodTV. It's great for your mental health,
it's great for kids and adults alike. I love doing this, and
let's be honest, it's hard inMichigan. Half the year, it's pretty
cloudy. So practical solutions we canimplement that are helping our kids exactly what

(36:57):
this is doing. So I wantto see even more bike bus groups start
all over the place because I thinkthis is the coolest idea. I love
taking bike rides with my kid.I used with my kids. I used
to be an avid bike to schoolkid myself for a long time. I
think it's an awesome idea. Thatsaid, when I saw the headline,
I thought it was people who wereon like a bus that was powered by
bicycling. You know what I mean. I don't make it so much less

(37:20):
cooler. Yeah, another idea,I just cut you in on some of
the profit. There you go likethat aschmeiddy. This is fast, but
you're gonna be able to charge upyour vehicle without having to plug a single
thing in and it's the first inthe country to do this, and it's
right here in the state of Michigan. You might have heard about this announced
by Governor Gretchen Whitmer back in twentytwenty one. They wanted to create the
first electric roadway. We're talking abouta road where electric vehicles can actually charge

(37:46):
just by being on them, justby driving down the street. Well,
as of yesterday, that is areality in Detroit. A quarter mile segment
of fourteenth Street is being used totest and perfect this technology. But they
it off yesterday. A car withany electric vehicle motor battery in it essentially
when it pops on the road, whether it's driving, whether it's idling,

(38:08):
whether it's parked, is charging whileit's sitting on the road. Wow.
I mean the feel incredible. Firstin the nation to actually bust this technology
out as Michigan looks to continue tobecome a leader in the EV space,
but just really really neat to seeand you know, always looking ahead and
seeing what's coming next in the future. We talk about fixing the dang roads

(38:30):
all the time, Schmidty. Wecan fix them and charge them up at
the same time. I'd take thatturn me into a rainbow road like Mario
Kart. I mean, if listeningright now, that's what I'm looking for.
Feeling good comes at you twice aday, always here to pick you
up and share something also with you. We'll do it again tomorrow, six
forty five and nine to twenty. Here on, startin a five point seven
Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekdays, starting at six am on Star one

(38:52):
oh five point seven
