(00:03):
Wake up. It gets my daygoing. It makes me lab I love
it. Mac and Schmitty in themorning on Star one oh five point seven.
Well, good morning, Schmitty.Feels real good to say It's Friday,
doesn't it Friday? Going into Halloweenweekend? If you will not to
mention it is still so ridiculously warmout there. I gotta tell you,
(00:26):
you know, as much as youlove sixty five mid sixties tempts in the
middle of the day, having themin the middle of the morning is kind
of a beautiful thing when you stepoutside and you know what. We've been
talking about rain all week, buttomorrow is actually looking pretty decent. Honestly,
if you've been really sick of beingcooped with the kids like I have.
I mean, my son hasn't evebeen able to go off for recess
it's been so wet, this weekendis actually looking pretty fabulous. And if
(00:49):
you're one of those early risers,I want to get this out. If
you have the chance to go toApple Valley, Corn Maize and fun Farm
tomorrow, especially with this weather reallylooking okay, please do because portions of
all those proceeds tomorrow we're gonna goto Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. We're gonna
take the kids back out for anotherrealm. There's a ton to do there.
They got their new b line forkids and just to be able to
(01:11):
have some fall fun and know it'sgoing to an incredible cause. Is perfect
movies, music and all the gossipin one place. It's the celebrities gup
on Star one oh five point sevenrevert for quite a bit of Tailor This
morning is nineteen eighty nine. Tailor'sversion officially dropping overnight tonight, and naturally,
(01:34):
fans were so excited they pretty muchbrought down every possible streaming and download
server out there. Quite a fewdifferent streaming services experienced serious issues with downloading
and streaming the new releases overnight. Most of them have since fixed things.
This is a very big one forTaylor and one the fans and swifties have
been waiting for quite a while. On she released a really beautiful hand written
(01:57):
note late last night to fans sayingI was born in nineteen eighty nine,
reinvented for the first time in twentyfourteen, and a part of me was
reclaimed in twenty twenty three with there release of this album. I love
so dearly. Never in my wildestdreams did I imagine the magic you would
sprinkle on my life for so long. This moment is a reflection of the
woods we've wandered through and all thislove between us still glowing in the darkest
(02:23):
dark. She's also got a veryvulnerable prologue part of this album where she
talks about a lot of her datinglife, including those rumors about having girlfriends
in the past. It's all justvery emotionally connective tailor. I mean,
Taylor never does anything unintentionally, right, So she said wildest dreams and that
(02:45):
Lika the little Easter eggs are there, and she works at a computer virus
at this point, because every timeanything happens with Taylor, somebody's electronic system
breaks, whether it's ticket Masters,that a virus. It's just like she's
so pop that she breaks everything becausepeople want what she has. And it's
really really good. Of a lotmore coming up this morning as well,
(03:07):
including some of the unreleased tracks wehave been waiting for. Britney Spears apparently
very close hopefully to settling things withdad Jamie Spears, Britney's lawyer, has
sent an email opening the door forsettlement negotiations. Sources say that Matthew Rosngard
had an email acknowledging Jamie's been invery poor health, so this might be
(03:30):
a pretty appropriate time to acknowledge hisalleged misdeeds during Britney's conservatorship and just settle
pay up that unspecified sum so thelegal dispute can end. Remember, this
trial is set for May. Butit looks like Jamie's lawyer is not playing
any kind of game here, andhe has not even responded to the emails.
(03:51):
Here's the problem. Sources are alsosaying there is explosive evidence that could
come up in this trial that wouldnot be favorable to Britney. So it
sounds like he's really really trying tokeep this out of court, but Jamie's
team wants it to go. Yeah. I mean, it'd be interesting to
know how much money we're even talkingabout at this point in time, and
(04:11):
with her new book and all thenew opportunities waiting for Brittany, whether this
is worth her her efforts both financiallyand emotional, and Kim Kardashian not having
any problems with money. Her newskims line for men called Skims Men launched
yesterday, who get this? Breakingthe Skims website. It pulled in twenty
(04:32):
five thousand orders in the first fiveminutes, making Kim millions of dollars in
sales off minute. It's pretty amazingthat we've managed as a society to make
at least two Kardashians billionaires in likea decade. It's insane. I think
she makes good clothes. I wantmy hands on Skims. I do.
I just can't bring myself to wantto pay the price. And apparently men
(04:56):
are very excited about this. She'sgot a ton of partnerships lined up for
this as well. We're talking models, NFL players, actors. This is
going to be massive. I gota bunch of the pictures, including some
of those handwritten notes from Taylor toher fans, with your scoop at West
Michigan Star dot com. Here wego Halloween weekend, SCHMITTI, it's startinal
fund points. You haven't Mack andSCHMITTI with you? And you know,
(05:18):
I have never really done couples costumeswith my wife outside of you know,
when we were in college and thingslike that. But this year we were
going to go out with some friendswith a friend group that is close with
my kids and stuff too. Reallyexcited about that, and we found out
that one of the other couples isgetting into a couple's costume. I dress
(05:39):
up several times for Halloween. There'ssome years I've skipped it, but I've
done a Big Taco in the lastcouple of years. I mentioned I was
Clifford the Big Red Dog in twentynineteen. I've been Buzz light Year and
Waldo and all sorts of stuff. My wife is really never taken on the
full costume thing as an adult outsideof that, but when she found out
this other couple is gonna be wearingcostume, She's like, we should do
(06:01):
a couple's costume. And I laughed, and I'm like, I don't really
like them that much. I'm like, but if we can think of a
good one, we'll go with it. And then I found one that I
thought was hysterical that I liked,Bob Ross and a Bush. Oh,
Bob Ross in a Bush, andI thought it was great. And she
was, you know, doing thecheesy ones that I saw, and it
was like Sulsa and ship serious Pug, and I'm like, no, yeah,
(06:25):
no, I'm not doing any ofthose ones. I'm like, I
want something at least a little bitfunny, so Bob Ross and she's like,
yeah, that sounds great, AndI'm like, but you have to
be Bob Ross. Oh that's whati'd want to be, right, Like,
that's that's how I'm gona do it. She's like, well, I'm
not gonna I'm not gonna walk aroundwearing the fro and like getting on and
I'm like, yeah, yeah, that's what we need to do. I'm
like, it's not as anywhere nearas much fun if you just got like
(06:46):
the bush stuff around you and I'mBob Ross. Forget that. That's that's
lame. You gotta do it.And now she doesn't want to be Bob
Ross. She's like, I gottaget up and do the fake beard.
And I'm like, I know, doesn't that sound fun. I'd have to
fake a beard too. I'm apreview besting child over there. Like I
just feel the couple's costumes, theweirder you can make them, the better,
(07:08):
right, Like they've got like somebodyknows exactly who you are. Like
my two favorite costumes. I wentwith Chris. We went as Linda and
Louise from Bob's Burgers, Chris wasLouise Guys, and then when Will was
Super Tea I think his second Halloweena couple of years ago, Chris and
(07:29):
I borrowed State Farm outfits from mybrother who worked there at the time,
and Will went as Aaron Rodgers andlike we get you get extra candy.
Like people saw us, They're like, oh my god, you know the
discount double check. You guys lookso good. It pained me that my
son wasn't a packer's outfit, butI I did see as somebody else on
our Facebook page actually wrote to beFlow, the progressive insurance agent, and
(07:54):
the other gentleman I don't know hisname. The word they protect you from
mayhem. Oh well mayhem would bea lot on TikTok that are doing Flow
in Mayhem. See I saw aFlow and Jake from State Farm. And
then what's the other progressive guy's name, the dude with the red hair that's
in all the commercials with Flow.Because immediately my wife was like, oh,
you could go as that guy.You look kind of like that guy.
I know. I'm like, wecould rock that one too, But
(08:16):
what is the best couples costume youthink you've seen out there, Schmidt.
I mean, I'm gonna give myselfthe credit and say, Linda Luis,
Oh no, I take that back. My most favorite couples costume with Chris
Ever, I went as Wendy Peppercorn. You went to Squints from the sand
Lone is my most favorite. Yes, we got so many we went out.
That was back when we didn't havekids and were fun and we had
(08:39):
so many people that were like,oh my gosh, that costume is incredible.
When I was in college, Mane, I've told you about this before.
Probably my favorite couples costume experience formy wife and I was when we
were there and she dressed up asa sultry police officer. Sure yes you
will, and I was the Iwas the burglar and I actually got pulled
(09:01):
over at two thirty in the morning, and luckily I was the DD who
was taking people to a party. But I had to do all of my
drinking and driving tests, including walkingin straight lines, my ABC's and everything
else at two thirty in the morningout on Halloween weekend at Michigan State's camp,
all the lights on. You don'tmess around with that police. I'm
(09:22):
getting heckled from all the people whojust got out of the bars. So
as the lock your mom lock,Yeah awesome. And the way that it
ended was with the police officer handingme a stack of East Lansing PD stick
on tattoos and goes, yeah, your girlfriend looks hot in your cop cost
all right? Sometimes because I'd geta good feeling, let's start your Friday
(09:50):
morning out with some positivity rolling intoa great weekend. Should be lifting up
right now, But just in case, I got a couple of great stories
for you right now, including aWest Michigan girl who just got something that's
to make the live of her lifeand her parents' life a whole lot easier.
I'm talking about little eight year oldEnna Groats from right here in West
Michigan, who just received her wheelchairaccessible Van Schmiddy, something this family has
(10:15):
been waiting for for quite some time. Enna has spina bifida, so of
course she uses a wheelchair to getaround, and she's learned how to become
very mobile in her young age.Very active little girl. But this van,
as we've heard so many times,is such a life changing thing for
families. Well back in July,Anda's grandpa Bob, he actually raised funds
for this van by riding across thestate of Iowa five hundred miles on his
(10:41):
bike to raise money and support thevan. But it wasn't just him,
you know, he Bob said. The huge part was just the supportive people
like neighbors, school friends, familiesof our church, family and so many
people who just wanted to see Enna'slife get better. So just the other
day, Enna was there to pickout the new van see it for herself,
and w ZZM caught up with bothEnna and her mom, Nikki,
(11:03):
and as you can tell, bothof them very emotional about this life changing
new purchase. I don't really thinkthere's words to this right, grateful and
just a blessing them. I havemy own then now my mom and dad
don't have to lift me up intothe big and my other one. I
(11:26):
like it good, it's good.Words can't express how appreciative we are of
just the community and family members andfriends that have come alongside us and just
are They're the support, They're theheroes. Yeah, I love to see
it. Big congrats to uh Ennaand you know Grandpa Bob riding that five
hundred miles. But of course theWest Michigan community for stepping up forward to
(11:50):
so California firefighter put down all ofhis gear to go above and beyond the
call of duty for breakfast. Thisis a post that has gone viral from
the loose Bon Fire Department in Cali, where Captain Thompson recently stopped everything to
make breakfast for the kids and makesure they made it to school on time
after Mom had to be transported toa hospital. It was an emergency call.
(12:13):
Now we're not sure exactly what happened, but mom is now doing fine.
Firefighters arrived on scene and then thecrew stayed, including Captain Thompson,
to make sure that the kids wereokay. Think about it can be really
scary to see mom taken away inan ambulance and not exactly know what's happening.
So, according to the Facebook page, Captain Thompson made a gourmet breakfast
(12:35):
consisting of some cinnamon sugar toast andsome OJ on the side, and they
even got a VP ride to school. Now, Mom, as I said,
doing so much better. Expressed allof her gratitude on the department's Facebook
page the other day, writing, you guys are absolutely amazing. I thank
you so much for taking care ofmy babies in one of the scariest days
(12:56):
of my life. Plus they toldme all about it when I got home.
They were so excited. I'm sograteful. This is what they'll remember
about this, and my heart wasfilled with gratitude. You can't even imagine.
I just love when I can pointout that first responders really do it
all and go above and beyond.I mean, yeah, breakfast and then
(13:16):
the ride to school. Tell methe lights were on. Put the fire
truck lights on. Please, Justthe thought that we're gonna make sure these
kids have a memory different from seeingtheir mom taken away. That's not stuff
you always get in training, no, but it is things like that that
you'll find always right here and feelinggood. We just try and lift your
spirits and give you something positive totake with you into the rest of your
day. We're not done with thatyet. We'll do it again this morning
(13:37):
at nine to twenty here on StarWins five point seven movies, music,
and all the gossip in one place. It's the Celebritiescoop on Star one oh
five point seven. Well, themanhunt continues in Maine for the forty year
old suspected shooter killing eighteen people inLewiston, Maine. The other night.
(13:58):
We did get an update from doctorsworking at area hospitals that a few victims
are between stable and still critical condition. But it's Patrick Dempsey, the actor
who calls this home his hometown, that is absolutely heartbroken for the victims and
their families. Posting to Instagram yesterday, he says, I'm shocked and deeply
(14:18):
saddened by last night's tragedy in myhometown. Maine's great strength is its sense
of community, and now we're beingasked to come together to support everyone that
has been devastated by this senseless act. My family and I are heartbroken for
the victims, their families, andthe communities. Speaking of that community still
in lockdown this morning as officers continueto search, we're also learning that Big
(14:43):
comedians Pete Davidson and John mulaney havepostponed their main shows that were slated to
take place tomorrow and Saturday. Youknow, it's obviously such a terrifying situation
for them. I have a cousinwho actually lives there in main and owns
a business with it, and talkingabout how she can't believe that after moving
from East Lansing, that she's nowin a second community in a year that
(15:07):
her and her fiance have experienced massshootings in. I can't quite believe it,
except you have to because we keepreporting on it. It's really unfortunate
Beyonce not holding back in a massivepromotional push for her upcoming new concert film,
Renaissance, A film by Beyonce dropson December first, and it will
(15:30):
show everything how the tour came tobe, the making, the behind the
scenes. It will follow her aroundon a bunch of different stops, and
she is planning two world premiers, going a little bit over tailor. The
first will be in la on Novembertwenty fifth, and then she's doing a
massive premiere in London on November thirtyethYou know what, if anybody out there
in music can have as much successas Taylor just experience, it is Beyonce.
(15:54):
That being said, Props to herfor being brave enough to be the
one that tries to do a concertfilm after Taylor's just exploded like that.
Well, her tour generated four pointfive billion dollars, so I'm guessing the
movie is also going to be wildlysuccessful. Speaking of Taylor Swift, another
big day for Swifties as nineteen eightynine, Taylor's version has dropped, and
(16:15):
we've got a few of those Faultsongs that have come out, including one
will be playing for you in justa few minutes, Oh a few minutes.
Hold on, okay, one second, all right, so this is
now it's over and they say thatthis is about Harry Styles. I've got
all of that background for you comingup, and I'll have it in your
scoop West Michigan Star dot com.Perhaps there was a moment or two that
(16:40):
left you praying that you were goingto make it out alive when you went
your way through a haunted experience, quite like Schmidy, I will say,
abandon Akers. Last year you broughtout Tom Hillen right from what TV,
Yeah and Wood TV. Heh promisedhe joined me and I did not realize
at the time. I felt badthat he is even more of a scaredy
(17:00):
cat than I am. And wehad an absolute blast. And I was
thinking back on all of this becauseI get to take a group of VIP
winners tonight. Abandoned Acres is openthis weekend. It's their final spooky weekend
before Halloween. Then, so we'regoing to go to Sparta, we could
have dinner, do a limo ride. It's going to be a blast.
And when I was calling some ofmy winners yesterday, they were trying to
get a handle on just how scaryabandoned Acres is, right, and because
(17:22):
it's two different spots, Like yougo through Billy Butcher's Corn Maze, then
you get out and sigh a relief, and then they're like, here's your
three D glasses to go through theterror top Like it's so good, But
I wonder what happened to you thatwas unexpected, Like maybe it was funny,
maybe it was a bit of aninjury. Because I do feel a
little bit bad, not bad enoughthat I don't bring it up all the
time. But when I went throughwith Tom last year, there was this
(17:45):
one part of the corn Maze, and I'm not giving anything away, but
it was so scary. He'd figuredif he could just run through it and
get done as fast as he could, it would be the best way to
go. And that worked until thevery end. Yes, oh, I
don't love this. I don't lovethis. Ready, Okay, did you
(18:11):
hear that at the end? Holdon, no, that's Tom running into
the wall of one of the hauntedspots inside the cormets because they have some
of these outbuildings that have like extrascare factor. And he comes running out
and I'm like, we did it, we did it. He goes,
(18:32):
I think I just ran into thatwall. And he sent me a picture
the next morning and had to golive on the air. It would TV
with this massive bruise on his foreheadthat concealer could barely cover. And I
was that friend that absolutely broke downcackling. Anyway, it was so good,
(18:52):
and I was like, I mean, are you okay? Like,
yeah, I'm fine. I justfigured I needed to get out of there.
I was like, okay, man, but there there's like four more
outbuildings to go in this may solike, are you gonna be able to
handle this? And I just there'sgotta be a great injury or funny thing
that happened when you went through ahaunted house. I can't even tell you
the last time I went through ahaunted house, Smitty, But because I
(19:15):
never think of those things as likeultra terrifying for me, like that I'm
gonna go through. But maybe it'sbecause I haven't gone through them, because
everybody I know who does them islike, no, they're They're absolutely terrifying.
Yes I did right now. Idid a haunted maze a couple of
years ago, and I was runningso fast my hat blew off, and
I had just bought this hat atTarget, and I was like, no,
(19:37):
I gotta go back, and soI ran back to get it,
and I ended up scaring one ofthe characters who didn't expect me to be
backtracks behind her, and I waslike, I'm super sorry, but like
this little target hout, and soI doesn't want to leave it in the
corn maze six one six, fourfive eight, one oh five seven.
Have you ever had a funny orcrazy experience in a haunted house corn maze
(19:59):
something like that? Four one fiveseven. I want to hear those really
good stories. Honestly, out ofall of what you just described, the
running is the part that sounds terrifyingto me. I'm inside of exercise.
I'm walking slowly through this bad Boysso good. I loved abandoned Acres.
(20:21):
Maybe a little bit lots of crazyto go around, especially in this studio
Mack and Spinty and Staalino five pointseven. Am I crazy right now,
that weird little thing you do youthink makes you nuts, Well, chances
are there's other people went out therewith your brandy crazy spinning way you got
this week. I mean, I'mgona talk about the washing machine. He's
been like an ongoing battle in ourhouse. How do you load your washing
(20:45):
machine? Take the clothes and Ithrow it into it? Do you let
it fill all the way? Igot one of the front loading ones,
so I don't even know when itfills. I'm actually always confused by the
lack of water. It seems toyou throw your stuff in and there's like
nothing in there yet. Yes,okay, yeah, my husband would be
so gens to that and tell youyou would never be allowed to wash clothes
at our house. Well, becauseI'm like, I'll like be able to
put water in it and I'll getsome soap and then I dumb clothes.
(21:07):
And he caught me doing that oneday and he goes, oh, so
you just want to walk around withdirty clothes, And I was like,
why because you didn't even let thesoap get around it. So then I
waited one day and I put thesoap in in the water and let it
fill it and then I forgot aboutit and it sat for fourteen hours with
water just sitting in my washing machine. So I don't know, am I
nuts? I feel like if youat least get the clothes in there and
they get a little bit of wateron him, that's the best case scenario.
I have a kid at five andtwo. There's no chance I'm not
(21:30):
walking around with stains and sticky stuffon my clothes. I'll be honest with
you. My entire life of havingtop loading washers, all I ever did,
Schmitty was turn on the washer sothe water starts going, and then
I take the soap and I doI fill up my little tube thing and
then I do a swirl. Ido like a swirl, so I'm dripping
detergent all over there. And thenyou like make sure oh see, yeah,
no, that's exactly what apparently you'renot supposed to do. Somebody somewhere
(21:52):
is listening right now and is alaundry aficionado, And if you could just
go ahead and call us or shootme a DM at Schmidt in the mitt,
I'd love to this one. Teaseme how to do it, Schmitty.
Mine is not crazy. It isa skill and I'd love to say
it was because I'm super smart oranything like that, but the same week
both though, that's not true.Uh, I've been able to do this
since I was a kid. Ican say my ABC's backwards with no hesitation
(22:15):
or difficulty whatsoever. Is this becauseyou were a kid or are you taking
a lot of field soprise? Youknow I am taking exactly one and I
talked about it earlier. Yeah, now I see where this is going.
Z y x w v u ts r o p qu n m l
j k h e d f ed g z y x w v u
t s r o p n ml j k h e d f a
e d f c b A.So you're like really good at huh?
(22:38):
Is that not good? You try? You try right now? I never
you're on there. I think you'rea little crazy getting on that backwards ABC
soapbox. My guy, that wasa little pressure. Okay, first time
I've had to do it on air. All right, give me a break
here, Schmitty. That was prettyfantastic. I think any officer would have
accepted that thrown out there. Let'ssee who's on the lines. We got
(22:59):
Megan for Magan what makes you crazy? I collect jackets. I know that
sounds weird, but I have likefifty jackets, Like there's a use for
all them. I don't just collectthem and leave them in storage. I
wear pretty much all of them.Dumb man question here, Swidi, don't
all you guys have like fifty jacketsand feel like my wife's got a lease
like that? I actually it wasgonna say, I'm sorry, Maybe you
(23:21):
are a little crazy because I'm stilla grown toddler and I won't even wear
a coat when it's like thirty degreesout. But that's just my own problem.
Am I crazy? Got something good? Share it with this all right?
At West Michigan stock It's the celebritiesscoop on Star one oh five point
seven. She's one of the finalcelebrities in Hollywood that has not spoken on
the violence in the Middle East betweenIsrael and Hamas, especially in the Gaze
(23:47):
strip, and now supermodel Bella Hadidis speaking out for the first time.
The model, who is part Palestinian, wrote on her Instagram yesterday, forgive
me for my silence. I haveyet to find the eye ideal words for
this deeply intricate and horrific past twoweeks, weeks that have turned the world's
attention back towards a situation that hasbeen taking innocent lives and affecting families for
(24:11):
decades. While she says she hasmuch to say for today, she's going
to try to keep it short. She says that her heart is bleeding with
pain from the trauma she's seeing unfold, as well as the generational trauma of
her Palestinian blood. Seeing the aftermathfrom the airstrikes in Gaza. She mourns
with the mothers who have lost childrenand the children who cry alone, all
the lost fathers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunties and friends that will
(24:33):
never again walk this earth. Shegoes into a bit about her family's history
and then said we must all standtogether in defending humanity and compassion and demanding
that our leaders do the same. She also goes into depth about what she's
been dealing with over the past coupleweeks, saying that she has been receiving
(24:53):
death threats daily, her phone numberhas been leaked, her family has been
put into serious death danger. Butit's not going to keep her silence any
longer. Again. You know,it's always interesting to me how people want
to project, you know, somebodyelse's politics or in other country's actions onto
whomever the most famous person they knowof that is even loosely related to that,
(25:17):
you know, to that heritage atall. Like this is a supermodel
and we're on bendeddi waiting for herfeelings on what's going on in the Middle
Age. And I get that.I do think because she has the ties.
I mean, her dad was bornin Palestine. I mean, this
is something that they've been very vocalabout in the past. And I do
think when you cross that line andyou do begin to talk about political things,
(25:38):
you can understand why people would belike, Okay, so what do
you have to say about this?Because it is completely taking the world's attention
and there's a lot of death anddestruction. Sophia Richie is making all of
us millennials cringe just a little bitwith what she is calling her new pumpkin
spice lip trend. So Sophia wason TikTok yesterday adding some concealer to her
(26:03):
lips. I'm gonna do the cherryon top, which is a tiny,
tiny dot of concealer. You're justgonna put that right in the center,
and you get this beautiful ombre lipcombo. Okay, she calls it a pumpkin
spice lip. Anyone who was aliveand in high school in the early two
thousands knows exactly what this is.Remember the super orange tanned girls that would
(26:27):
put all the concealer and make theirsuper bright white lips. Please tell us
this is not back. TikTok wasin a frenzy yesterday with one of their
top content curators going Millennials, it'shappening. They're bringing it back, and
people going, please forgive them. They know not what they do. I
(26:48):
would tweeze my eyebrows in preparation, but they still haven't grown back since two
thousand. Grab your iron, chuckaway the hair straightener. It is time
you give her a break. Shewas only born in ninety eight. For
oh, this is such a terribletread. And finally, yes, Taylor
Swift nineteen eighty nine. Taylor's versiondropping today, which oh, as if
(27:11):
she couldn't have any more, successhas officially made Taylor Swift a billionaire seventeen
years into her career. It wasreported overnight by Forbes that the pop megastar
has joined that ten digit Club. It's all due to the re release of
this music catalog and of course herera's tour, which brought, by the
(27:32):
way, four point three billion dollarsto the country's gross domestic product. So
yes, as if everything else wasn'tgoing swimmingly, she is now officially a
billionaire, joining the likes of Oprahand Kim Kardashian. You know, it
was only a matter of time. And the thing is, I actually think
that there's a decent chance that shepasses all of them. I think that

Yes, blood would be a goodone in there, but now that one

(31:56):
point seven, how about we talkedabout puppies right there was a really cool
event that went down last night atMudpenny in Ada. If you didn't think
that dogs and Broadway made a greatpair, well good thing other people do.
Broadway Grand Rapids celebrating thirty five yearsthis year and decided to team up
with Pause with a Cause to throwa big old fundraising party last night.
(32:19):
It's a very unique partnership for sure. Sydney Baxter is the communications manager at
Pause with a Cause. She tellswood TV. I understand that you don't
see Broadway and dogs necessarily having anythingin common, but in fact we do
even share clientele and it's brought alot of attention to our program. Baxter
says. Pause with a Cause evenplaced an assistance dog with a woman named
(32:43):
Mary who actually works on Broadway, and that's where the idea started to form.
So they came up with this eventto help raise money and awareness.
As Sydney tells wood TV, thisis not a cheap thing to do,
but really important for our community. We estimate that it's about thirty five dollars
to do a custom trained assistance dogfor a person, and we provide our
(33:06):
dogs at no cost to the client. So you know, events like these
are really helpful for getting our missionout and for getting people to invest in
support that mission that we do.By the way, that woman Mary,
who works on Broadway, was alsoa part of this last night with her
assistance dog Daisy. So if youwant some more info on this, maybe
(33:28):
a way that you can donate tothis incredible organization, I'll put the story
up at West Michigan Star dot com. All right, Smindy, this is
a great idea. And if youlove the show Shark Tank, I think
you're really going to love this too. It's a brand new reality television show
going to be filmed right here orhas been filmed, i should say,
right here in West Michigan, andit's all about helping local women succeed and
(33:51):
amplify their businesses. It's called Let'sHelp Her Win. And it actually got
started with just a quick post tosocial media. Executive producer Chris Mathis told
w's one of my goals for twentytwenty three was to invest in women owned
businesses. So I decided I wantedto share this publicly and shared it on
social media and it just blew up. Our videographer Cam was like, Hey,
what if you did this and assaulther you know reality show concept,
(34:15):
Well that's exactly what they did,and now they've taken five local business owners
and filmed them again in this sharkshark tank style show where they're actually matched
up with local investors, just likeSamantha Renya, who says she's a licensed
esthetician and she just wants to makea bigger change in the community. And
then of course all sorts of otherideas come out of shows like this and
(34:37):
wind up blowing up. Investor StephanieKulakowski actually told w ZZM that not only
does this help women own businesses, but we're hoping to see this continue to
grow in the future as well.As a woman owned business, I know
what it's like to have an ideaor have a business plan that you want
to get out into the universe that'sgoing to work to help other people.
(34:57):
I want to see grund rapids andracist initiative and create even more. I
mean, we need more spaces andopportunities for all but women own businesses in
general. So this is actually goingto have a sneak premiere on March second,
Schmitty, and then they're looking todo season two as well, so
there's going to be even more ofan opportunity for women right here in West
Michigan to highlight their businesses and hopefullysee them turn that next page. Love
(35:22):
