Speaker 1 (00:00):
West Michigan's Christmas station. It is Star one oh five
point seven. Good morning. I call this weekend eve A
Thursday gets you so close to a nice break in
ISHMITTI and I feel like every year we bring up
this drama. It's officially the holidays. I'm calling that because
I think Thanksgiving is included in this. Do you break

(00:21):
up or makeup? Is it worth staying in a relationship
through the holidays or are you really being kind of
a you know, grow a parent ended because it's not
fair to that other person. I got a friend of
mine kind of going through this right now. She's not
fully and she's not fully like ready to say no.
But she's like, listen, you know, we've been having a
few problems the last couple months, kind of some questions

(00:43):
coming up about whether this is really long term? Can
we see each other together? This is kind of a
post divorce relationship. And she's like, I don't know. I
feel like, at this point in my life, I know
what I want. I know what my future is going
to look like because of what I want, and maybe
I'm not supposed to be with this person, But also

(01:05):
is it worth all the effort of breaking up? With
somebody versus just making through the next six weeks. It
sounds nasty maybe, but I think a lot of people
feel that way. Six one six, four, five eight one
oh five seven? Is it a makeup or a breakup
in the middle of the holidays?

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Hi, Krista, Well, I think before the holidays, because why
lead some person on and it's the holidays and that's
going to be around your friends, and then it's even more.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Humiliating, you know, I don't. Yeah, that's a really good point.
I never think, like how much family are you seeing?
Are you bringing them to family events? Because then I
think maybe you reevaluate whether you need to end things
or not. Six one, six four or five eight one
oh five seven Bradley is just saying the inside part
out loud.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
The right answer is before the holiday season.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
But y'all knows how good is it in the moment?
I like, sure what you should do as a good
person versus oh good in the gift Maggie.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
You do it after you just do I mean listen,
Like the holidays can be a little lonely, and I
don't know, maybe there's a chance that you'll change your mind.
I think I think after right, like enjoy yourself, maybe
like enjoy the gifts you're gonna get.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I think she said it's it's her man. She's kind
of an hopeless romantic. It sounds like too. What would
your advice be? Are you gonna make up keep it
going through the holidays or is it better to dump
that person and not put them through a Christmas season
with someone they're not going to be staying with. Give
me a call or drop a talk back inside our

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
