The Grand Rapids Christmas Tree is Up!

Good morning, it's schmitty and it's official. Now my kids
are going to be so excited. They love driving downtown
whenever we get the chance to see this. The official
Grand Rapids Christmas Tree has arrived. I was driving in
this morning. I saw it get pulled up with all
the workers starting to set it up by the Grand

(00:21):
Rapids Art Museum. And now it's really the season. I
get very excited about stuff like this because you've seen them,
like all the downtown workers and shout out to when
you guys see like the beautiful like flower arrangements in
the spring and summer, and the Christmas lights that get
wrapped around all the trees, that's literally like city workers
out at three o'clock in the morning doing that in

the dead of night. So when everybody like gets here
one morning, it's just magical. Like year round, they are
making our city so beautiful. And so right now CRUs
are working to get the tree upright, and then they'll
start decorating and then coming up the twenty second, So
a week from Saturday, we've got this Santa Claws parade
at five and then the tree Lading at six forty five,

And the cutest thing I've ever heard is how my
kids think that tree gets decorated because they've never really
seen like the workers doing all of the effort to
put the lights on and the star and everything. Cause,
like I said, they're very ninja like about it, which
I think is very magical. My kids just think it's
actually a bunch of elves on the shelf that make

their way here to get it all decorated before they
go and visit their families for the season. It's not
the sweetest, but here's the deal. Now your excuse is done.
If the Grand Rapids Christmas tree is officially being decorated,
we can go hard, you guys. Get out the tree,
get out the decor. I'm not trying to hurt Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I love it.

I'm gonna get the stretchy pants on, I'm gonna eat
more turkey than my body allows. But I do think
we can just start to, you know, like a little
pop here and there, because your tree's going up the
day after Thanksgiving the latest, right, am I out of

up as we speak, right next to Rosa Park Circle.
We can do it right. We can go full blown
on the Christmas decorations. I'm not trying to hate on Thanksgiving. Well,

It's Stacy, So Stacy, what is the problem.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
So? I have been putting up, putting off, putting up
our Christmas tree because my kids want to decorate it,
which okay, I understand that, but they just they just
mess it all up and it's it's just not the
way that it should be and it doesn't look good.
My husband says, no, let it go. It's Christmas, like
just have fun for once, like let it let it

and I just ooh, I can't, I can't see.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
This is exactly how I feel. But I gave up.
At least now my kids are old enough, I can
decorate the whole tree instead of like halfway up in toddlerland.
