(00:00):
I Heart Communities. Thank you somuch for listening. I'm Renee Denino here
in studio with one of our favoritebrewing companies. It's Illicit, a brewing
company in Manchester. Not only arethey awesome, but they give so much
back to the community. So theirGM is sitting here with me right now.
Amanda Fromer, thank you for beinghere. Hi, how are you.
I'm super excited for the second annualFestival of Trees and Giving. But
(00:21):
it's all for Blue Angels. Youguys, that's so incredible. Oh yeah,
they're great. I love helping ourlaw enforcement out and I love the
way the Blue Angels does it.You know, I've known them for many,
many years and the fact that theydo their giving on Christmas Day and
to be able to add to thatis incredible. So let's talk about the
event that's taking place on Saturday,December night, that kicks off at noon
(00:43):
with all of our iHeartRadio stations herein the state of Connecticut. Amanda,
how do you see this stay going? Oh, it's a lot of fun.
So the trees are starting to comein. They're set up in our
beer hall. Now we have abunch of different trees this year. From
all over, a bunch of fundifferent themes and so you can come in
out the tree place here bid Andas you saw last year, people start
(01:03):
getting aggressive towards the end and wehave people like running up at the last
minute to place their bid. There'ssome great stuff out there. Tito's made
a tree this year, kind ofWait Brewing, the Harford yard Goats,
Harford wolf Pack did one as well. Sam Adams actually did a sleigh insteade
of a tree, which is reallycool. I love it. There's a
lot of fun stuff out there, for sure. And I will also say
(01:25):
that the trees, I don't thinkit's you can't do a justice by talking
about it because I was there lastyear and I saw these trees. When
we tell you these companies go allout, because I was there at the
same time last year. So we'restarting at noon. We're going to have
our sister stations there kiss Casey oneon one Country Night two five, and
then I'll be there at the endrepresenting the River and all of our stations
(01:46):
from four to six. But you'renot kidding. People get like very competitive,
shall we say, at the end. But these trees, like say,
for example, you know like Tito's, there's bottles. It's like a
legit tree, our iHeartRadio tree.I mean, with all of the contesting
that we have going out, where'sRyan Donahue get embarrassing and Ryan come over
(02:07):
here for a second. Go goto this mic right here. Tell us
a little example of what people canfind on our tree. There's a wolfpack
tree, but they've also donated andhooked us up with also a family four
pack to wolf Pack. There isMagic of Lights, Renchler for a car
full of your family to go throughthe light show, Judas Priest tickets,
(02:27):
good gosh. I mean pretty muchlike there's iHeart merch on there. There's
more concert tickets, there's more evensand joy for your family. So basically
you because our tree went for abouta thousand bucks last year and all of
that money goes back to the BlueAngels, which again gives back to the
community of Manchester, which gives backto kids. And it's actual dollars that
are going to be used right away, yep, right, So why is
(02:49):
it important to not just serve abeer and let it go at that.
It's just great to help the community. The law enforcement has always been great
to us, so anyway we canhelp out with their charity is great,
and it's just it's such a funthing that they do. I live right
by the police station, so it'sreally fun on Christmas Day, like you
see the swat cars go out andsquad cars go out and they're all decorated
(03:10):
and they just go around town andthey deliver toys to kids on Christmas and
it's just it's so fun to see. Now I'm gonna do a big shout
out to Officer Falana and Caneine Dakota. Okay, they're working. They're a
working canine unit. As you know. I'm always going to bring it back
to the dog and because they areworking, I know they're allowed to come,
but you you know, it iswinter and we can't. But I'm
gonna say that I want Canine Dakotato come and say hello. And everybody
(03:34):
who brings a toy. By theway, they get a certificate for an
illicit brew. What is the brewthat they'll get this year, because I
know people love that last year.Oh yeah, so they can have any
of our illictit brood beers that wehave. We have a really good fruitcake
sour that we just put on inthe honor of the holidays. That one's
really really good. We've got anwe got something for everyone though there's loggers,
ipa, stouts, hours, alittle bit of everything. Tell me
(03:55):
about this food you brought me heretoday, So we brought you a little
sampling stuff. We got our Phillyagirls, which are super popularis the pretzels,
which are just so good, delicious, and then some sweet chili wings
and then my personal favorite donuts.First of all, i don't know if
I'm embarrassed or I'm definitely excited tosay that I've had everything that I have.
(04:16):
I've eaten there because I've gone toyour place for more than one occasion,
for more charitable events as well, and I've eaten everything off of this
platter and also your cheese sauce. Can I get it? Like in a
court to go? What do youput in this dang thing? It's so
delicious, so good, it can'tnot bring it. I would pour it
(04:38):
over everything in these donuts. Thesmell you guys, take a look at
my community access dot com or goonline. I'm telling you right now,
I've eaten four of them just bysniffing them right now. They're so so
delicious. So you really are morethan just a local community brewery Ilicit Brewing
in Manchester. You give back, you put your money where your mouth is.
You are offering really high end qualityfood. So tops off to your
(05:01):
chefs and your staff for that.Anytime I've ever gone there, everyone has
been super nice. I'm not easy. I love extra cheese, extra sugar.
Anything I order, I'm always like, oh can I have an extra
and a side? And everyone's smiling. Yes, you can have all you
want. But thank you for doingthis, this festival of trees too,
in this event because it gives backso much to kids. So thank you
Youah had no problem with Amanda forit. It's such a pleasure to see
(05:25):
you here again today. Yeah, look for it to see you Saturday.
All right, you guys, whatshould we have first? Now? WHI
should we have? Should it bethe Philly, the pretzel, the wings,
the donuts? I know Damon andAdam already at all the pizzas to
forget that. I see this andeverything all right, it's our communities,
