Speaker 1 (00:00):
Especially in the Jamine Morning Show with j Foreign and Santinilynn.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
You need to know, We got you three things you
need to know on Boston's number one for hip hop
and the best throwbacks.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
She haven't any more.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Five Wednesday, February twelfth, and we got some big, big
news in the Karen Reid trial. So you know what
that means everybody, seven thirty am. We will welcome Nick
Rocco back to the show to help us break down
what happened yesterday. But what we did learn was that
the highest court weighed in and they are refusing to
drop two of the charges that her defense attorneys argued
(00:35):
jurors in her very first trial unofficial equal agreed to
acquit her of murder and leaving the scene of a
fatal accident in the death of John O'Keefe.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
So really, guys, and I'll let Nick do it in
a greater length.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
But basically, Karen's attorneys argued that, yes, that was a
hung jury. But after the trial, we know, and we
spoke to a bunch of people that were in the
jury and they said that they were unanimous on a
lot of things, but there were one or two people
who couldn't figure it out. So they're like, well, wait
a second, and only one or two people she shouldn't
(01:09):
be tried for these things. Again double jeopardy. But I also,
I'm sure Nick's not gonna love this. I understand what
the judge is saying too. It was a hung jury.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yes, they couldn't figure it out.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Like the other part, the fact that they were texting
the like the lawyers, that seems a little bit off
to me. I don't know if there's another place where
they could speak about this. But the fact that they
were like, hey, by the way, we felt like this,
and how did they get in contact with them?
Speaker 2 (01:34):
I mean, it seems yeah. And then I saw this
morning on the news. They were like, what would we do?
Bring the jurors back, put them on the stand, Like
you can't. Then it kind of goes against your constitutional
rights of like, it's just it gets weird. So with
that being said, she's going to be looking at all
the charges, so the second degree murder, leaving the scene
of an accident, and manslaughter while driving drunk. This all
(01:57):
is coming to us two months ahead of her try
which is set to begin in April. I had the
craziest craziest day yesterday, And at this point, I'm going
to tiptoe and I'm gonna be careful with what I
say until I get a verbal okay from somebody specifically.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
But I was speaking.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
With somebody who is related to this trial, who one
percent believes that Karen Reid is guilty. And you know,
I think one thing about this show is having Nick
RockA on. I've made it very clear that if there's
anybody that's on the other end of this call, I mean,
I beg sometimes nobody does. So I have this person
(02:42):
and they they had said that they would love to
come on the show, can't because they're going to be
a part of this Netflix documentary that's coming out in
a couple months on Netflix in the summertime that we
all know is happening. So in turn, she was like,
I can I have somebody else who's related to the
O'Keeffe family who would love to come on and prove
(03:04):
to you and talk to you about the fact that
Karen Reid killed John O'Keeffe. Now haven't even been able
to discuss this with Nick Rocco. But I'm not fearful
because Nick loves nothing more than to prove his side.
Nick goes on Court TV every other night to prove
his side, so I think Nick will welcome this challenge.
I just think it's about time that we have somebody
(03:26):
from the other side, and.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
As an audience, I'm dying here, like both sides like
challenge me on all ends of things.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
And this is like, great, you know what I said, Fine,
where's Chloe? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:35):
I did.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I'm always hitting her with questions. I said, where's the
dog she goes in Vermont?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Why doesn't somebody go to Vermont take a photo of
this dog so we can see?
Speaker 3 (03:45):
I mean something simple, It's very simple. It's very simple.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
So uh, Nick, for sure, seven thirty today, I'm working
on the other thing.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
And the only reason I'm being a.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Little secretive on it is because I haven't got a
verbal okay from her to say who it is. Either way,
I think at some point within the next couple weeks
we will have somebody on who is on the side
of Karen Reid being guilty.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
All right, the numbers are in numbers.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Don't lie no matter what you say, They're in halftime
show numbers. Kendrick Lamar made history. His performance was watched
by one hundred and thirty three point five million viewers,
making it the most watch performance in history. Now I
know Santi knows the answer, so I won't, but foreign
can you guess the number two?
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Who did he beat out Usher? Nope? Michael Michael Michael Jackson.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
His nineteen ninety three Super Bowl halftime performance drew in
one hundred and thirty three point four mil.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
You know what's crazy.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Michael was beating people out from like today's times, like
he crushed Rihanna. I mean, Rihanna only had one hundred
and twenty one. Usher pulled in one hundred and twenty nine.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Michael's halftime show. If you look back at it, it was
in the daytime, and it wasn't the production that they
are now. Yeah, a it's so low budget and compassion yes,
but it was still exciting to see him out there doing,
like doing his thing.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
Though.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Also you got to think about it. They're streaming now,
they're counting that towards it. I think, Michael this day
it there's no I mean yeah, because remember Kendrick is
putting up numbers like that and he has like a
niche audience.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
You know that Michael was for everybody.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yes, and then Michael. What he actually did is after he.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Performed No No Stop. Anyway, I can tell you a
true story about Michael.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
Watched his Super Bowl where he's just standing there on
the looking at the crowd his cue, and I saw
this clip come out. The production manager came out and said,
the way they had planned it out is that when
the music began, when he took off his glasses, and
they said, duran rehearsal. He took off his glasses pretty quickly,
but they said, during this time, he just stood there.
He was kicking back and the production no, he was.
(05:52):
He knew what he was doing. He was gaining that momentum.
He was building it up, and the production managers like,
I'm not going to jump this cue. Everybody's like, let's
want to play. He's like, no, I promised them, and
not until the glasses come on. He's yelling into micharophones,
take the glasses off, Michael, take the guy. And Michael's
just there ignoring him like he's stood there for a
good five minutes. And then he slowly goes and takes
off the glasses and the ques thoughts, what song.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Did you open up with? There you go?
Speaker 1 (06:17):
He famously has a thing where he would do that.
He would call it he has to let it sizzle,
Yes he would, you know what he.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Would, but he knew goes to show show how much
of a showman he was. Yeah, shout out to Michael,
Michael one.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
We are learning so much about Ford and children today.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
It is, by the way, just adding this in and
this is not to you know, I'm not the numbers
of the numbers.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
And congratulations to Kendrick because that's huge.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
But Kai Sannatt was live streaming and he basically is
calling out the NFL and Kendrick because he believes they
were pumping in crowd sounds are here.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
There was no sound. I just heard crowdsounds all my
life right here. Really Okay, Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
They add to the NFL.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Oh my god.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
They add crowd effects.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
I did not know. That doesn't Yeah, is this doesn't
shock me at all?
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I mean, and I guess unless they really didn't have to,
Like if the crowd was sizzling for Mike, they might.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Have had to. But that little clip right was posted
by tons of blogs. I guess who was out here
liking that that post?
Speaker 2 (07:33):
A lot Champagne Poppy champagne. Poppy is like, they're not
gonna have to infuse crowd sounds if I'm doing it.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
But the a minor part right like that wasn't because impossible.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
And honestly, I don't know if you watched it, and
I don't even know why I did, because I'm not
a Tiger fan. But Tiger had posted him like experiencing it,
and it was a long clip, but in that specific part,
clear as day, everybody yelled out a minor I mean,
I think everybody but sant He knows that line.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Well, now, wow, mine is blowing out. I have no
idea until like the other day.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
He was just sizzling.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Gear it up.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
He was gearing up all right.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
And lastly, so many celebrities were in New Orleans for
the Super Bowl, one of which was Posty. I think
post he did a massive like pre party leading up
to the Super Bowl. And I just love stories like
this about celebrities because they happen not often. But this
is probably the third or fourth time I've played a
story like this and it involves him.
Speaker 6 (08:34):
Post Malone walked through the door, went straight to the bathroom,
as most people do in New Orleans, straight to the bathroom,
came back and sat down and I kind of really
recognized who it was, and he ordered a couple of
bud lights. So the tab was twenty.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Five dollars, and then as he was leaving, he signed
his credit card receipt and to meet two thousand dollars.
Cried a little bit when outside, hugged him, thanked him.
Yeah it was he was super kind.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
I just chills two thousand dollars on a two twenty
five dollars bill just so unnecessary.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Doesn't have to do it. But I feel like we've
talked about him doing this before he does. Yeah, super nice.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
So that's amazing we did because I think one night
he was out with like Shaboozie and a bunch of people,
and I remember.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
That Christmas time.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
It was it was Christmas time, and the waitress told
him that, you know, I got to work on Christmas.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
I wish I was with my kid. And that's exactly
what I think.
Speaker 5 (09:20):
He left like five gesus or maybe no, he left
like ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
It was something. It was something crazy. It was like
it's always him, like he's he's big on this.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
I just think.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Imagine having that money because because in my head, I'm like,
in my head, I'm like, am I going twenty I'm
going twenty percent? Or where she was kind of mean.
I don't know if she was eighteen, but this man's
like two thousand. There's three things you need to know
for Wednesday, Feb twelve.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
How did I sound right?
Speaker 4 (09:47):
There?
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Did I sound like I had just woken up? But
I was the way? We're good. We're good. Don't forget
about the talkbacks.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
You can down the free iHeart radio app, put Jammin on,
hit that little red microphone and say whatever,
