Speaker 3 (00:16):
Podcast stop it.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
What's up you guys?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Welcome back into iHeartRadio's official wrestling podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
The Battleground Podcasts.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
And you know, I thought of many different ways how
I was gonna start this show. I could have done
the boom. I could have done the chicken bag, I
could have done anything. But I'm just gonna let my
man speak for himself. Let's give it up for a
j give it up everybody.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
You know that is the guys boom.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Now, before we get into anything, I didn't kind of
mark out with your boom. I know everybody talks about
breaking bread, right, but instead we're gonna break double.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Chunk chocolate chip cookies on the show.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
So I had to go to Costco right before this
interview just to make sure I got one of these
for this.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
But let's kind of dive into this.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
You've got a big wrestling match coming up against QT
Marshall at Aw's Full Gear. There's a lot of history
between you and QT. Maybe some people don't know about
the history between you guys, so let's set the scene
for those that are trying to figure out, Hey, why
is the Costco guy.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Wrestling at AW?
Speaker 1 (01:26):
So QT Marshall or Marshall a young Jersey guy. He probably,
I guess, about about eight years younger than me.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
And when I was ready to retire the first time,
you know what, I never officially retired, So let's get
that out of the way.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
I never officially retired. I stepped away from the ring.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
And of course I carried an American play through the
ring when I was the American power child Eric Justice.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
So as I was ready to step.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Away from the ring, we were looking around the organization
for someone that I could carry that flag. And at
the time, Q T Marshall was a young bulllog.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
And I said, look at this guy, man, I got
a great look to him, a real heroic to look to.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Him, you know, a wrestling background. I think this guy
can really be a hero on Kyrie thing. So I
called him out and I handed him my American flag
and I said, QT, you got it from here. And
we went in different directions from there, and of course
we know where QT Marshall ended up with AW, where
I ended up with TikTok with AJ and Big Justice,
(02:26):
and then QT and s j DU from AW reach out.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
They said, hey, we'd love to bring you back stage
for a segment through some things from there.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
You know, the internet did its thing and Big boom
Aj when you step him back in the ring. So
QT reaches out says, hey, we got this spot here
at full year.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
We'd love to have you.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
So brings me to our school sports. We signed up
the contracts. I thought we were friends. I said, great,
let's team up, let's bring a boom and QT said, no,
this is about Big boom Aj. I brought you back
for one reason. I want you one on, so bat all,
I gotta do what I gotta do now, and that's.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Whetting the boom absolutely.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
And the thing is is, like I've seen some videos
here recently of you in the ring not too long ago,
down there at CZW and you getting it in there,
you know, Big Justice in there getting a spear on
somebody as well, Like, you know, let's let's kind of
talk about this because I mean, you've become quite the
viral sensation lately.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
I mean I can't scroll through social media.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Without every other video either being you know, you guys
or somebody you know trying to act like you guys
with the skits and everything out, So what is it.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
What's it been like seeing all these videos and everything
going crazy and viral.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
It's been a ton of fun and everything we do
is all about fun and happiness, and we really want
to get the word out there and people it's okay
to be happy.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
It's okay to.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Have fun, it's okay to forget your troubles and let
all that nonsense go, all that stuff that's holding you back, let.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
All that go, get out there, be happy.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
And we're gonna bol absolutely for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
And it's one of those things because like we were
talking before we started recording this, that like just seeing
everything being good, I mean for your kid and he's
getting out here to live out these things that you
know as a kid, you'd never think he would get
to do. And you're sitting here. Recently we just had Halloween.
There was kids coming up to our house all dressed
as as Aja and Big Justice, I mean, the Rizzler.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
It's just it's an awesome feeling because sometimes people get
viral on social.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Media and you're like, yeah, I can't let my kids
watch that guy on on social media. But the great
thing is is I could sit here as a parent
who has a seven year old and I feel comfortable
letting him watching videos with you know you guys in it.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Well, thank you so much. And that is the vision,
that is the mission is.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
To bring the boom and everybody, everybody could be entertained
by us.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Everybody could feel welcome with us, everybody could be happy
with us.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
And yeah, I mean people dressing us Halloween I either
honor is there ever? I mean, that is the coolest thing.
And every time I see one of those posts, I
comment on it, I repost it. I mean, that is
just the coolest thing ever that people wear AJ and
big Justice for Halloween. I mean some people did some
crazy jobs on it.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
I mean you see some of the videos where they got.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
The chicken baked, the double chokechove with cookie, the logos
they're bringing the boom.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
I mean, what an honor, what a great Halloween, what
a big boom? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Absolutely for sure.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Now I do have a question, since you've you've kind
of based everything off the chicken bake of the double
chunk chocolate cookie, so do you get those for free
now at Costco or do you still have to pay
for him?
Speaker 4 (05:35):
No?
Speaker 1 (05:36):
No, No, we have.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
A great relationship with Costco. We absolutely would have won.
We could answer a better relationship with Costco. And we
have a lot of partnership deals with the brands within Costco,
so the relationship works out great.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
I mean, Costco is happy to have us in there.
Costco recognized us as the Costco guys.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
And then they introduce us to the brands within Costco
so that we can make videos and raise awar for
new products and products.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Going on sale. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Absolutely, and and I, like I said, I was literally
in Costco earlier today and I was texting a friend
of mine. I was like, Uh, this is called show
prep in the radio business. He's like, why are you
buying a cookie?
Speaker 2 (06:13):
And I'm like, because it's a double junk chocolate cookie.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
And I can't really bring a chicken bait because I've
got dogs and I can hide the cookie from them.
So you know, you're no stranger to a wrestling ring.
We we we've kind of established this. You've had a
lot of wrestling experience, but going back to the wrestling
ring after being years away from it is.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Quite the leap, right.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
You said you never officially retired, but did you ever
imagine that you would be back in the ring or
did you already might make your mind up. That is like, hey,
you know what, even though I never officially retired, I'm
cool if I don't step back in the ring.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Mama Justice was convinced I wasn't sending back in the ring.
I knewho I was. I knew in my heart it
wasn't over. I knew my heart one day, my.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Heart, yeah, Ireling, because there's nowhere else you can have
that connection with the crowd.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
There was just.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Nowhere else that you could walk through that curtain and
immediately feel that connection and know that you're going out
there fighting for these people and they love every minute
of it. I mean, there's just nothing like pro wrestling.
So I always knew my heart one day I would
be back in the room. Didn't know when, didn't nowhere
And listen, I've been in the ring a lot lately
the last few weeks preparing for this, and that'll footwork.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Was the toughest part.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
And in your footwork back together, I mean you're on
a flat canvas with flat boots, and I mean it's
like skiing again for the first time in twenty years.
It's like I was standing on the ice. So my
footing is good.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Now. Every day I stepped into rain and got.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Used to the ropes, I got a little bit better
and a little bit more confident. And that's where we
stand right now as we prepare for this match. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Absolutely, Now, when this was all brought to you, when
you talk to QT and sign Jay and all them,
I know you said, probably in your mind you were
already saying yes, But I'm sure that you had to
run it by a MoMA Justice before anything, correct.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah, of course, I mean we love each other so much.
We've been together twenty five years.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
You know, we're a team. We're a team.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
So yeah, I mean, out of love and out of respect,
I did have to bring this to Mama Justice.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
But I also do Mama Justice, so we're gonna hold
you back.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Yeah, she has her concerns. You know, I'm forty eight
years old.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Hey, but you can still go.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
I've seen the video, so I'm I'm I'm not worried
about that whatsoever.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
You can still go from the videos that I've seen.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Yeah, I mean, I'm.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Forty eight years old now, and we've got so much
going on. You know, we got weeks of what we
have on our schedule going on right after the match,
So you know, I gotta stay healthy, I gotta fulfill
these commitments. So of course there's you know, a concerned there,
but I'm confident. I've been training, I'm ready to go.
Wrestlings in my heart and I can't wait to see.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Everyone out there, absolutely for sure. And of course aw
full Gear is just days away.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
You can watch it on pay per view. You can
also grab tickets to that show aew ticks dot com.
That's tix dot com. So you know, we've talked about
how you've got this match with QT and wrestling is.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
In your blood.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Is this gonna be a one and done or is
there a possibility that you want more? Because I've clearly seen,
like I said, the videos, the wrestling bug has got
you again. And I don't think you could just step
in the ring this one time with with QT and
then that's it.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
I think there's gonna be more. Listen, things have to
line up. Hey, listen, the audience has to want more.
Let's with that.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
Let's start with that. Let's start with the audience has
to want more. But what I do promise you battle
is I'm bringing the boves.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
That the audience is gonna want more, that's all me.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
So bringing the boom, I will have this audience wanting
more and then we'll start from there.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
You know what if the audience wants more, you.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Know, we absolutely love the way aw has handled everything
to this point.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
It will be an honor and do more matches with adw.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
We are very busy with the other stuff we're dealing
with social media, so everything has to line up by
the door second.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Yeah, absolutely, and it's going to be exciting to watch,
you know, that match at aw Ful.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Garretts on the buy in and I'm just excited to see.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
And hear that arena go boom because we've heard them
do it with Adam Cole. I'm just waiting for them
to hear boom and then just boom. So let's you know,
I know your time is very precious because you got
all things you got to do with wrestling and social
media videos and whatnot. But how do you find the
(10:34):
time to create these videos, also get ready for wrestling,
and of course be a family man all in like
twenty four hours.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
You know.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Fortunately, it all goes together and that that's the coolest
part is that when we need other creators and we need.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
People and orgles for airports or whatever. If you saw
us at TSA, this is us. This is who we are.
All we do is certain the camera on.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
So it's awesome that we're able to do this together
right now, Ashley and Mama Justice, who have their channel
and their creating content, and we're drawing energy from one
another and we're just having a time our life with it. Also, yeah,
it is very time issuing, but it also is exactly
what we love. And I'm getting ready to wrestle.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Big Justice is getting ready for.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
His home run derby at the Power Showcase. Right after
ADW Sunday morning, we leave, we head down to Texas.
Big Justice will be in the Power Showcase home run
derby down glow Lfe Field. And you know, Mama Justice
and Ashley, they love to dance, they love.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
To enter team. So we're doing this all together and
that's the greatest part. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Absolutely, And of course you also got to throw in
the Rizzler in there, because before I was I.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
Was telling I was telling a friend of mine.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
I was like, I didn't put two and two together
from the Wrizzler's videos because I was like, I saw
the Black Panther videos and I was like, these are hilarious,
and then I realized later down the road that it
was the Wrizzler. So you know, how did that come about?
Because I mean, you're in your own little world and
then here comes even more of a fun time with
(12:02):
the Wristler.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
It's a great story. So Wrizzler was on the rise
and we were on the rise, and one night.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Big Justice comes to you with this phone and he's like, Dad,
you gotta see this kid.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
So right then and there, I'm watching this video and
this kid's like it says on the packaging it till
you're seven. Then I'm seven.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
You away, bust an analyst. So so right away, you know,
I reach out to a messenger. I'm like, hey, it's
a ja, Big Justice. We absolutely love your stuff. We'd
love to meet up sometime. So right away, Uncle some
Austin Wrizzler's father response, I'm.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Like, all right, here's our number. Here's her number. We
can get on a call right then and there. And
we were like it's you and you're fun. Back It's
like it's you. We love you guys. Back and forth,
we love you guys.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
So we get down to finding out where everybody's located.
And they are in New Jersey, so I think this
is probably like April of the Men.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
He said, Awesome, we're gonna be in New Jersey and
June assume as Big Justice is out of school.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
First thing we're doing for coming to you, so we
meet that American dream. All we do, the whole Bover
doing with toys are awesome.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
We've just been family ever since. I mean they're on
the phone all day together.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
As we're in Big Justice, they're playing Fortnite you whatever
else they play.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
I'm telling Uncle Sam Austa about oh gee aow. So
we're in New York this week and we got to
turn around and go to California that we're going to
meet you here or there, so I need. It's just awesome.
We love every bitting of it. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Absolutely, And of course again I go back to it
watching your Guys video come out, and it's a great
thing because I could sit here and be like, hey, look,
I'm okay with these people being famous. I'm not going
to hate them six months from now because it's enjoyable content.
I don't have to worry if my seven year old
is sitting here watching something and I have no idea
(13:46):
what it is, but I cannot tell you how big
of a superstar I am today for my kid because
I told him that I was interviewing you, and so
he's told everybody at his school that I'm interviewing the
Costco guys, and uh so.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
We gotta we gotta get a kid a custom video
when we're done here.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
We're gonna we'll definitely have to do that.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
But Aj looking forward to seeing you beating up on
QT Marshall because we're gonna call it here on the show. Sorry, Qt,
you've been on here, but uh Aj is about to
bring the boom buddy.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Sorry, that's what we do. We were on boom
