aw Dynamite and Rampage at the Maverick Center, which by

dot com. And on the show today we got a
uh we call this guy a friend because we are friends.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
A friend of the show is back. Give it up
for Mark Brisco everybody, Mark, how are you sir?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Was going on? Man, was going on. Good to be
here once again.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Man, it's it's it's always a party when when the
Briscoes come on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
And man, let's let's just jump right into it.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Everybody's talking about this Wednesday nights you Chris Jericho the
Learning Tree, uh in a ladder war match for your
Ring of Honor Heavyweight Championship. How are you feeling mentally
preparing for this kind of match?

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Honestly, man, like this is this is really like it's gone,
it's going it's gone.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
It's gone far enough.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Man, it's going on long enough because this is you know, man,
this is bullshit. Man like Jericho, like he I don't
know if he just thinks he gets a free pass
to to to do to say whatever he wants it.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
But man like, dude, like, do you want to get hurt?
Man like, like like your life is gonna be in
my hands? Like and like just for this man to
not have the self.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Control or even maybe if he does have that self control,
but he voluntarily chooses to continue man to to to
bring up my brother's name when I tell him, man like, like,
keep my brother's name out your mouth, like like, man,
you're really gonna get yourself hurt? You understand, Like, I
hope you're ready for retirement. Man, I hope you're ready
for it. I hope you're prepared because it's ain't like

(02:10):
this ain't gonna go good for you man like, like
you don't understand, like like.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
I'm not the one. I'm not the one.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I like you made a career of being a smart ass,
a cynical uh uh uh uh sarcastic dude. It has
gone good in other at other times in other avenues
and other aspects and things that you've done in wrestling.
But man, don't don't like no, like not with me,

(02:36):
not right now, not talking. Man, don't like I said. Like, Hey,
I'm saying, is anybody who is would like to see
Chris Jeredo legitimately get his ass will and legitimately?

Speaker 4 (02:50):
I mean, this might be it for Chris Jeredo. He's
at a hell of a career. Hall of a career.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I'm not I'm not doubting that. I'm not trying to
act like that's not the case whatsoever. And hey, and
this damn well might be it, man, this might be
it because I'm tired of it. Man, I'm tired of it,
like seriously, like it's ain't it ain't funny, man, it ain't.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
It's not games, dude, it's not absolutely.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
And the thing is is you look at at your
history when it comes to matches, you look at Jericho's
history of matches.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
I think You've been in more, way, more.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Aggressive, way more extreme matches than Jericho's been in.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Man.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
See that's what I mean. Me and my brother, that's
what we that's what we came up on. We would
like as we was when we were when we were children,
when we were small children, you know, four or five,
six years old, we were talk hoging Hawk Hogan an
Ultimate Warrior all day long.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
But right about it.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
The first time that we ever got a glimpse at
the original ECW, not ww ww F style ECW. I'm
talking about e c W n Philly at the ECW
Arena back in the mid nineties.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Man, that's when we fell in love with professional wrestling.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
That's when it was rather than just being oh, yeah,
wrestling is cool, you want a lot of dressler, Oh
you know, that's when it was like, all right, we
now know what we are destined to do on the
planet Earth, and that's to be professional wrestlers and to
go out here and get down like these wild dudes
in this bingo hall in South Philly, Pennsylvania.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Man.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
And so we that's what we've been doing our whole career.
That's what we've been been focused on. Like the violence,
that's the Like Jericho, you're a wonderful sports entertainer, you
also a good professional wrestler.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
But you can't get down the way that them boys
can get down.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
And you, man, it's it's just not a good idea. Man,
It's just not a good idea to to It's like
signing your own death warrant, you know what I mean,
It's barking up the wrong tree.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
But yeah, this is this is right up my wheelhouse.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
I'm like, I got the opposite of the opposite of nerves.
It's like, I'm so ready and I'm so prepared that man,
I just don't I don't know how long I'm gonna
want to just punish this man before I go grab
my title. That's kind of my only debate in my
head is how long do I punish this man?

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Because it's not it's not you know, I just I
just feel sorry for him.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
He's had such a wonderful career and you know, but hey,
you know, to go out in the blaze of blood
and glory against when it happened the baddest tag team
that ever has been, Hey, it could be worse.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yeah, absolutely, And of course tomorrow night we're gonna see
Chris Jericho's career ended by Mark Briscoe aw Dynamite and
Rampage over there at the Maverick Center. You can still
grab tickets all Elite Wrestling dot Com and you know,
a lot of people have seen this show. We've had
you and your brother on multiple times, and you've had
a legendary career with your brother. But now you're making

(05:57):
big moves in the single division. You're making a name
for yourself. Now what does it mean to you personally
to carry that Brisco legacy forward in this new chapter
of your career.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Man, it's like it's like such an honor dude, because
it's like, you know, me and Jay we were. It's
funny because when we was getting into wrestling, you know,
it all started in the backyard. We we it was
me versus him on the trampoline until we wore out
the trampoline and went through the trampoline canvas, and then

(06:30):
we built a platform of wood on top of the
trampoline frame, put up four posts and some some cable
and some garden hose, and so then we had a ring.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
But it's always me versus him.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
So it was like we was always singles guys, you know,
coming in at the very very beginning, and it was
funny like, of course, logically, you know anybody and now
looking back hindsight, of course they were going to put
us in a tag team. But when we start training
up at Wressell Tech in Wilmington, Delaware, and then they're like, Okay,

(07:04):
so we think we're gonna call you guys the Briscoe
Brothers two thousand. You remind us of Jack, Jack and
Jerry Briscoe. You guys got the same something about you
just reminds me of Jack and Jerry Briskolle. We're gonna
call you the Briscoe Brothers two thousand and that's the
first time I thought, oh, oh, we're gonna be a
tag team. And then that's his history, you know what

(07:27):
I mean. It's like it's one of the things where
I just can't see the forest because all the trees
are in the way type thing, like Doug, we're gonna
be a dag.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
And then it's like we go on to have.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Twenty you know what I mean, twenty two years, twenty
three year career of you know what I mean, all
over the world, all kinds of matches, all kinds of opponents,
all kinds of venues, you know, and it's just like
it really is. It's an honor to be able to
carry on the Briscoe legacy as a singles guy, even
though that was never you know, since the backyard days.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
That's not been my bread and butter. But now I
was like, oh, yeah, I remember how to do this.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Yeah, and it's good to see you know right now
everything that's going for you. I mean, it's great that
you've got that Ros championship around your waist. And as
a belt guy, because you know, we always love to
collect belts, I did pop mark out, as the kids
say a little bit when you know you debuted your
custom belt, the white camouflage strap.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Absolutely loved it.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
So well. You know, I had to make a quick,
quick little move. I heard some little feet running and
I think you're about to get.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Well, about to have a surprise running in a second.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Okay, then min we're good. Let me get back to
my get back to my battle station.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Had almost had a surprise running for a second there.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
I will say, man, the other day I was talking
to somebody and next thing, you know, Big Murph Comb
barreling in and yeah, so we talked about Big Murder
about ten minutes.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Oh that's great, that's great man.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
And you know a lot of people have been talking
about this run that you're on with Ring of Honor.
You've got the world heavyweight championship. You've made it your
own like your brother did with his Ring of Honor.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Championship, which is awesome. You know.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
With with recent spotlight on wrestlers becoming top names in
both AW and r O H, who do you see
as that next like breakout star in ROH that fans
should be really keeping their eyes on.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Well, I mean, if you're talking about in ro O h, uh,
give me.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
A second to ponder that one.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
But I just wanted to take this time to put
over one of, if not the best professional wrestler in
the world top five in my book anyway, and that
is Athena the I mean the way that she has
has carried this uh carried this Ring of Honor woman's title.
And I mean just whenever you know the decision is

(10:04):
made to get her on a w she's gonna take over. Man,
She's she's just so complete and so good as a
performer and as a wrestler.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
So uh. But as far as breakout.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Start in I mean in Ring of Honor, I mean, man,
that's that's a tough question because there's so much young talent.
There's so much, so much young hungry talent. I mean, uh,
dag on man, you put me on the spot there.
It's a I mean, I'm trying to think here about
guys who are exclusive if you haven't really crossed over

(10:38):
to a W too much. But I mean, like a
guy a couple of months ago, how wrestled and he's
he's I say, he's probably considered an ae W guy
by now. But guy that I wrestled for the title
for the Ring of Honor title on Honor Club a
couple of months ago because he pinned me on Dynamite
was Kyle Fletcher. Kyle Fletcher is a blue chip five

(11:02):
star prospect and he's, uh, he's just starting to really
make ways and to really just show what he can do.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
So, man, keep an eye on Fletcher for sure.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Yeah, absolutely, that that's one.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Especially now that he's turned on Ospray and he's kind
of aligned himself with Don Kallis. I could see him
slowly easing up the ranks in that ROH division. I
know that he was Television Championship for a while. We're
just having so I'm telling you it is a party.
When we have Mark on the show. You never know
what's gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
It's just the energy, maybe the reverberations in the air.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
It definitely is.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Now I gotta talk about this because you know, a
lot of people have been talking about this match.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Again.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
We we briefly talked about it tomorrow night.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
You Chris Jericho as someone who's you know, been in
a lot of brutal matches your whole career, do you
think that there's anything that Jericho can throw at you
that you haven't already.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Faced, man, other than you've got numbers behind you, but
you've got the fans behind you.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Yeah, And honestly, I know I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
I don't think that this man like legitimately stands a
he don't got a snowballs chance. And you know what
I mean in the other you know what I mean
on preheated on four twenty five per half hour. You
know I mean, he ain't got a snowballs chance. Man,
I'm telling you, he's a hell of a professional wrestler,

(12:30):
had a hell of a career. He's had some good
damn ladder matches. I remember, you know, some of the
best ladder matches I've seen. One of the best ladder
matches that I've ever seen. Chris Jericho was part of
that match.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
But that was man. It's a ladder match. This is
a ladder war.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Like I've seen. I had this old boy. I was
up at the man. I was over at the old
boy with shallon beans out there on the side of
the road. My good buddy Biba Hotwell and I come
by it, and I've seen him and I just poked
in to poke my head out to say hot to him.
And Bob said, what's it? So you got a ladder
You got a ladder match coming up on Wednesday. It's

(13:05):
a ladder war. What's the difference when a ladder matching
a ladder war? I said that exactly what it's called is.
It's it's not false advertisement.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
It's a war.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
This is I mean this to be expected, a ladder match.
The goal of the match is to climb, climb the
climb the ladder and get the tight or the brecase,
whatever it may be hanging. That's a ladder match. A
ladder war is first you go to war and you
incapacitate this other dude, a cross from the ring from you.
And then when the time is right, if I don't

(13:36):
feel like putting no more punishment on this man, then
I'll go get the item hanging from the ceiling.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
But this is man, that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
This is a war man like like they used to
have those TLC table ladders and chairs. That's kind of
kind of what a ladder war is. It's more than
just a ladder match. It's a war.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
It's gonna be man, it's uh yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
But that being said, to answer your question, No, Jacko
ain't got nothing for me.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
I'm ready and anything. I'm already.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
I'm I've been two steps ahead ahead of him the
whole time he's been. He's been, he's been fooling with
But I already I got his number. Man, I got
his number. And he can't bring.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
The violence he's got. He's got experience, But I got
experienced too.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Now, I mean that being said, he just he's uh,
he don't know what he's getting into. He don't know
what he's getting into in Uh, in a way, I
feel sorry for the man.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
I think I think a lot of people are kind
of feeling sorry for for Jericho for tomorrow night, because uh,
I mean, he's he's gonna get those hands from you.
I don't think he knows what he's getting ready to
step into. And it's gonna be pretty gnarly. Tomorrow night,
AEW Dynamite is in Salt Lake at the Mavericks Center.
You can still grab tickets all Elite wrestling dot com.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Uh before we let you go, because.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
I know your time is busy being the champion all
that wrestling fans of course have seen you and some
of the most craziest, most intense matches ever.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Is there one match a moment that still gives you
goosebumps when you think back on it?

Speaker 2 (15:02):
And how does that.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Compare to uh, you know, tomorrow night's match that you're
getting ready for.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Man, that definitely is plenty of matches and moments. I mean,
the first thing I would think that a lot of
people would would would would obviously would have guessed, would be,
you know, having the matches. Uh. Had we had the
trilogy with with FTR to end up with that dog
collar match, that dog collar match was just something that
would just in my mind, it would just always be, uh,

(15:32):
just a moment in time that will just never be uh,
just that there will never be another feeling like that,
no matter how great of a victory I could have
moving forward.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
It's just like that was.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
And I've said it before, it was like after the
match once Jamie choked out Dax and then a new ring,
a wind of the world changed, and then I turned it.
He give me this big hug, this big bear hug.
That would mean that's just nothing will ever compare to that.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Man.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
But I mean throughout the career there's the like I
think about how much people people will talk about and uh,
you know, put over the matches with FCR we had
three matches within meal. Never be anything like it in
my career, and you know it was to me. It
was just a real special trilogy of matches. But I mean, like, man,

(16:20):
you think about what the brisk goes in the Young
Bucks Man.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
We wrestled. We didn't wrestled three times. We probably wrestled
thirty times or forty times.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
It was like rock and Roll Express, excuse me, rock
and Rolls in the midnights, rock and Roll Express, Midnight Express.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
We Man.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
We wrestled Tokyo, we wrestled Australia, we wrestled in in London,
we wrestled up and down America. I mean the stuff
that we got to do with the Young Bucks that
was also, I mean just something that's such a fond
memory and just such a pivotal part of the part
of our careers. And I mean so many other teams,
so many other teams. I don't want to start listening

(16:56):
because I don't want to leave nobody out. But I
mean I remember, for you know, Kevin Stein, L Generico.
There's one more name drop for you.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
We had.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Uh we had a series of matches with Kevin Stein
and L Generico which ended up and uh the first
Ladder War actually, and that's something that I'll never never forget,
and I think never duplicate. You know, that'll be something
that will always had that special place in in my
life and in my memories and just in professional wrestling
in general. I think the history of pro wrestling. Uh,

(17:28):
I think the Stephen Generico matches and uh yep. And
we had this one random match with mad Man Pondo
and necro Butcher down in Florida. There was a barroom
brawl and that was a that was a doozy there,
that was atozy.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
But uh yeah, that's probably about Uh those are the
main things that come to mind.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
Okay, okay, well you know, we we we don't want
to take up too much of your time because I
know you gotta get ready for uh the ass whooping
that you're gonna give Jericho tomorrow night.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
H A w Dynami. You can still grab tickets.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
It's at the Maverick Center, all Elite Wrestling dot com.
Uh mark before we let you go, man, anything you
want to say to people that are watching or listening
to this right.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
Now, Hey, just wanna spread the love, baby, Just wanna
spread the love. People.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
You know, there's different wrestling promotions on this planet, but
you know what wrestling is good no matter where you
ingest your wrestling, no matter where you uh get your
wrestling from. And it's just people that's that's just on
that on that just on that hater raid.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
Man.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Some people that just like just can't they're blinded by
Oh I like this promotion, so I can get down
with anything that has to do with this promotion or
vice versa or I don't know, man, it's just like,
you know, it ain't how y'all got time for that.
How y'all got time to be really worried about stressing
about uh uh your favorite wrestling promotion or your favorite wrestler.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
And really get upset. You really your blood pressure. Some
people blood pressure really gets quite elevated, and that's not
helping man.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Y'all, y'all don't want to at a young age because
you worried about the other wrestling promotion that you're just
so worried about bashing.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
Like man, just enjoy wrestling.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
So that's I mean, the the first thing I'm gonna
say is if you like wrestling and just enjoy wrestling.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
If it's something you don't like, guess what, don't watch it.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
You know, that'd be probably be the best best solution
inside of that. Didn't want to have everybody out there
that God love you, I love you, and I hope
that y'all haveing no wonderful day.
