Speaker 3 (00:25):
Welcome back into iHeartRadio's official wrestling podcast, the Battleground Podcast,
And on the show today, I feel like the odd
man left out at the moment because everybody has their
AW Tag Team Championship title with them except for me.
But let's go ahead and introduce our guests. Private party
joins the show.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
You forgot something?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Uh oh yeah, but I forget your AW World Tag
Team champions parties.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Can we do it over?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Okay, let me do this over again. Make some noise,
get loud for your a e W Tag Team Champions
of the World driving party.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I mean, it's no Justin Roberts, but I'm getting there.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
It's gonna take some time, it does, it does, so
let's go ahead and just address the elephant in the room.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Has it sunk in.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Yet that you guys are the ae W World Tag
Team Champions?

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yes, it took us a little while. It took me
a little while, but yes, it's definitely something that we
ate it.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
We were tacking champions.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
It's something I'm still getting used to, but I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Yeah, I mean you.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Got a little extra, a little extra in your bags
when you have to go through the airport and they're like, hey,
what's that in that? Uh that bag over there? Oh
it's this title, this title.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
I beg ahead opened the bag.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, what was what was the I guess the first response?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
What was the craziest sprose to it?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Like maybe a TSA guy or girl with this going
through and you have those tag team times. I'm sure
you already have a story with these belts and you're
going through t s A checkpoints right.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Actually mine just hit yesterday. Yeah, mine is hit yesterday.
This is the first time they take out my belt
and the guy.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Goes, he looks, he looks at the suitcase and.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
He goes, Yo, everybody a champion here, big guy shoes right,
big guy seen, And like, this is the first time in.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
A long time where I felt overwhelmed, a little.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Bit embarrassed, not embarrassed, but like just like like a
lot of people looking at me, big guys airport.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
He goes, everybody, we got a celebrity.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Here, champs, a champ, you got celebrity here. I'm like, man,
all right, let's do it. So that was my that
was my TSA story right there.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
Yesterday I didn't have one yet.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
They just they just let me go.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Through there like he's a champ.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
He's good. I feel that star power. I'm just saying, yeah.

Speaker 7 (03:08):
I mean if I would prefer the second champ story. Personally,
I want to get gone and get through. I don't
need to pray, like, let me get one.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
I've been good for the past couple of weeks, like
it's been I'm being surprise, like, oh, they haven't checked it,
but like yesterday was the first time that they they
went through it. But I'm glad that they did because
hopefully whenever I go back, they know, like once you
see a big shiny gold object in my bag, they
know it's a championship, but.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Just leave me alone.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Luckily, luckily I didn't have like I had time to spare,
because normally I don't have time to spare. But luckily
I have some time to spare. And you know, it
went yeah good, it went good, went good.

Speaker 7 (03:45):
Yeah, Oh that's crazy. Uh, well again, congratulations on the
tag team.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Try to win. Appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (03:53):
People still buzzing about it. Of course, you guys now
joined the ranks and forming champions, swerving our glory and
they claimed as Frican American World Tag Team Champions. Have
you thought about the victory from a historic viewpoint of
that and what does that mean? What does this wind
mean for you guys' legacy?

Speaker 5 (04:13):
You and we go?

Speaker 4 (04:14):
You got it?

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Okay, So honestly, I didn't think of it like that.
I just thought of its like about damn time. Yeah,
we did it, so legacy. This proves it. This right
here is the legacy. This is what we're thriving for.
This is what we wanted since we were training in
the boxing gym.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
By the way, So this this is everything like you
ever had.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
Like you ever think of those guys that want to
climb mountains and how they feel when they finally got
to the top of the mountain. M hmm, that's how
we feel. We made the climb. We're on top of
the mountain.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yeah, it's it's pretty it's pretty rewarding.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Knowing the fact that that we are in history now
we solidified names, literally, we solidified our names in history
and to be along names like the Young Bucks and
FTR and staying you know, Droby and you know Kenny
Omega and Adam Page, Like our names is literally aligned

(05:20):
with all those guys, So like this kind of solidifies us,
as you know.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
At the top.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
We're now part of that conversation as top tag teams
because we had this gold are on our shoulders. Mm hmm. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
And I could tell you man, and it couldn't have
come at a better time for you guys to have
those tag team champions because me and Eli, we have
our little text that we have every day about something,
and it was just like, why do they not have
the titles yet? Every week before you guys won the titles,
why do they not have the titles yet? And I
remember the first time I saw you guys wrestle. It
was in Nashville when AW first started. I want to say,

(05:57):
it was like aw dark and it was you guys
guys versus best friends.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
But I was sitting there in the arena because I
was like watching this.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
I was like who are these guys and like just
watching you guys go at it, and I was like,
they will be tag team champions, they will be that
face of the division. It's gonna It's not a matter
of if it's a matter of when it's gonna happen,
and it's finally happening. We're giving you your flowers now
because we could say this to you in front of you.
So again, congratulations, we're big fans of Private Party on

(06:29):
this show.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
I appreciate that. That means a lot of thanks.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
I last absolutely, and of course my seven year old
is probably gonna get mad because I'm talking to you guys,
and you know he's a big wrestling face, and yeah,
he gets so mad at anytime we do an interview.
He always tries to send something that I could show
off to the wrestlers, but unfortunately we don't have action
figures of you guys. But we need to make that

(06:51):
happen very soon, so we'll get that's his name's Liam, Liam.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
What's up? Liam? Is your boys? Private Party?

Speaker 1 (06:59):
You're w World Tag Team Champions and we're just gonna
give you a shout out and thanks for being a fan.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
And we also look for a third.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Members, so hopefully you know, yeah, you're doing good in
school and you know you can hold up to Private Party.
Maybe you might be our third member. But that and
this is the shout up for you. Stay awesome, stay cool,
and help you get you soon.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Man, I'm gonna be a cool dad. And well we'll
be because I know, I know, we uh we uh.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
There's a Clarksville show coming up here right now on
the road to us coming up here in a couple
of months.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
We'll do that. But you know we're.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Days away from uh, Full Gear coming to us live
and New Jersey at the Prudential Center.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
The tag team titles are gonna be defended.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
This is gonna be like your toughest defense yet for
these titles in a four way match with the Outrunners,
who a lot of people are starting to gravitate towards, uh, the.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Kings of the Black Throne and the Acclaim.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
What's your mindset going into such a stack match this
weekend at Full Gear.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I think, let them, let the other teams fight and
then we get to win. But like I'm to throw
down any of the teams. But honestly, we're looking to
to to knock off the Acclaim. We're looking to pin
the Acclaim because I feel like the Claim has the
most accomplishments when it comes to.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
All those teams that's that's in the match. You know,
they they got the.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Most wins, They former champs, they're former champions and they're
form a field championships. So for us to be a
team like the Acclaim will project us to new heights.
And that's what that's what the goal is.

Speaker 7 (08:32):
Are you guys gonna steal the show?

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Is that even a question to ask private party? Are
they gonna.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Keeping it on?

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I wanted their immediate response.

Speaker 6 (08:44):
We we never try to steal the show. No, when
with all the show.

Speaker 7 (08:50):
There, Yeah, you can't steal yourself, get it?

Speaker 5 (08:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah, I get it.

Speaker 7 (08:59):
Well, you know, speaking about AW in twenty twenty four,
it's been a very wild year for power struggles as
it were, you know, the elite kind of came into
charge or this year has been kind of running rampant,
rampant around the divisions. John Moxley has recently just basically
declared war on AW and it's been causing terror ever since.

(09:21):
What do you think about this newfound clarity concerning Moxley
and what do you think it does for the foundation
of AW as we head in the twenty twenty five.

Speaker 6 (09:32):
I see right now we're in a tough spot because
when Moxley declared war, we were kind of up there
in the front, like we're ready to go to war
for AW. Yeah, not saying we're not going to go
to war for AW. We kind of got a little
sidetrackeding though. I mean, I don't know if you notice
we got we got a little sidetracked, but we are

(09:55):
still paying attention to everything that's going to happen. So
as far as Moxy goes, I mean, just like we
did the Elite, we get his ass out.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah, I feel like Moxley has good intentions, but it's
just the way he's going about it.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
You know, everybody loves AW.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
I know Moxy definitely loves a W and we want
the best for AW ultimately, but it's just the way
he goes about it. You know, we don't agree with
what he's doing to accomplish that goal.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
And I kind of compare it to like the Civil War.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
When Avengers, you know, iron Man and and and Captain America.
You know, they both had ideas to make the world better.
You know, both had their own views on it. It's
just the way how they went about it. You know,
they all want the best, but it's just the way
how they want to go about it. And I think
that's what we're dealing with now. The friction between a

(10:50):
W and the Death Righters. You know, we all want
the best for a W, but it's just the way
we go about it, and I don't agree, and I'm
pretty sure a lot of people also agree with me.
I don't agree with my and his crew is doing
to you know, reach that goal. And if he, if
Moxie brings us over here again, will beat his ass up.

Speaker 7 (11:11):
It sounds like with you, with you guys being world champions,
yard generals, so to speak, on different sides of this.
So it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Absolutely gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
And of course again aw Full Gear were just days
away from the Prudential Center there in New Jersey. Of course,
you could still grab tickets to it AEW ticks dot com,
that's t i X dot com, and of course you
can watch it on pay per view. One thing that
we kind of touched on just a bit ago private
party really gotten over.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Organically since siding with AEW.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
I mean, just seeing how things have played out from
you know, from when you guys are there to now
the outrunners are. Another recent example of that, who you're
going to be facing this weekend is there any advice
that you would like to pass along to an up
and coming tag team who want to be themselves, you know,
become in demand in a more organic manner.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
I'll just say, uh, just continue being yourselves, you know.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
I think fans fans realize nowadays who's authentic and who's not.
And if you can be yourselves, I feel like the
fans are gonna just gravitate towards you automatically. Just be
yourself and always number one rule, always have fun because
if you have fun, the fans have fun. And you
can tell the Outrunners are having fun. And I love
I'm a big fan of Outrunner. I love watching their

(12:34):
promos of the entrance. Their energy is just you just
feel their energy. So I'm a I'm big fans of them,
But that all change said it because I don't have
to beat their ass.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
So yeah, I'm sorde eyeing them because if they started,
if they start building off that energy.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
From the crowd, I'm sure, yeah, right right right.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
At them, I'm like, yeah, y'all doing good, but.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Right, yeah, see how it goes on Saturday for sure?

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Sure.

Speaker 7 (13:03):
Well, you know what becoming World Champs obviously becomes with
perks and you guys beat the Young Bucks. Know, last,
is there any chance you guys may get a signature
shoe deal out of this? And at the very least
may we see private party signature tag team belts?

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (13:21):
So, answer a second question, I don't think we're gonna
do the tag team boats because I feel like, with
us being here since the very beginning, you know, these
are the boats that we always wanted to win, you know.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
And then you think about, like all the tax teams.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
That held this, like you know, Darbiess Thing held this
six team exact volt after your had held this same
exact belt. Young Bucks held this same exact belt, and
like I said, this was the boat that we saw
when you first, you know, we first came to it.
So I don't think this belt holds.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
A lot of prestige.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
And I don't think we want to change anything about
it because you know, it means a lot to us.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
So we're not gonna change it.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
And to answer your first question, man, I will hope
so I will coming up because we make it the
best wrestling shoe ever or on tequila.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
And I'll tell you I will buy those shoes once
that Once that happens, I don't know if I need to,
you know, text Tony or hit up Shack and d
him him since he now runs things with Reebok and
be like, Yo, get these guys like some pumps or something.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Let's do this, let them know, let them know, man.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
So you know, yeah, and then you do some finishing
move and you show off the shoes and you sell
them in the merch and you just make even more
money for private party. That's that's the goal in twenty
twenty five.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
The state champions to get a shoe deal. Yeah, I'll
help you out on that one.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
So normally, towards towards the end of our interviews, we
always like to have fun with our guests and we
like to go to chat gpt to ask a question.
We type it in. Sometimes it's like how'd you get
your starting wrestling? We all know that we could go
to Wikipedia, we could do whatever, but our chat GPT
robot wants to know.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Let's set all this once and for all.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
If you're throwing the ultimate wrestling after party, who's in
charge of the drinks, who's mixing the drinks, and who
is most likely to get kicked out first?

Speaker 4 (15:13):
I honestly I think Kuna get kicked out first.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
I honest think I think Quinn would be okay, I
think Quinn would be get kicked out first.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
I think I'll get the drinks and I think Quinn
will mix the drinks.

Speaker 6 (15:27):
Uh yeah, I believe Isaida mix a drinks? That's too
much responsibility.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Uh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Hey, this just goes to show that you are a
for real tag team because you don't even have to
like second guess You're like, yeah, nope, we're good.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
We're good there.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
So, uh, you know, before we let you go, any
any final thoughts heading into Full Gear anything you want
to tell people that are watching or listening to this
right now, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
I might as well give you all spoiler.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
If you're gonna walk in full Gear Champions, We're gonna
walk out Full Gear Champions. And stay tuned this Saturday
Prudential Center. If you're in New Jersey or you un
Tri state area, make sure you be there. It's gonna
be a great pay per view.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
A bunch of matches.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
You know, you get to see your boys defend these
aw World Tag Team Champions for the Tampionships for the
first time.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
So it say eight pm, Full Gear, be there.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
I'm not you're not gonna want to miss it, I promise,
Or if you're not there, watch it on pay per
view and we're gonna Thriller two. So whatever you have
to do to watch that paper, I promise, you're not
