(00:00):
The game is one in the trenches. They just don't have the beef upfront,
all right, So you better havebeef up front. They have the
skill position players, they have thedefensive backs, they have the quarterback.
They don't have the beef up front, they says, your weekly stop for
all things college football. Now hereare your hosts, Ryan Coyle and Sean
Brace. That's right, you heardthe man. You can't win without beef.

(00:24):
Oh front goes across professional ranks andto the college game. You want
to win, you gotta have beefup front. Look at the Birds against
the Dolphins. Now everyone wants toban the play. You know you can't
win without beef up front. Goodevening, of course, another edition.

(00:44):
As I said, beef up fronthere talking all things college football. I
am Sean Brace, joined as alwaysby the man who is dialed in on
the game. All things college footballwere Ryan Coyle. Be sure to follow
him at Ryan Coyle thirty five anda good evening, Ryan, you ready
to go for another interesting slate ofcollege football again. We're just you know,
each week has its own big game. Last week, of course,

(01:06):
feature Pence. They getting stomped. This week. I think there's two that
we can focus on, but probablythe next big, big one on everybody's
card Alabama LSU. Yeah, Imean over the next few weeks, Like
you said, we're gonna have onebig game. It seems like each and
every week. I think this weekis maybe the most disappointing slate like that

(01:26):
we've seen from the past few weeks. Because we talked about last week how
we've been spoiled with so many goodgames. This week is a little bit
underwhelming, but still major playoff implicationson the line, and that's the beauty
of college football. Each and everygame means the world. I mean,
we've seen the forty nine ers inthe NFL lose two games in a row.
They could go and win out therest of the way and no one
will remember those two losses if theyget that one seed, that's all,

(01:49):
that's what that's all about. Butcollege football, one loss can completely derail
your season, So each and everyweek matters, and that's the beauty of
the sport. Damn right, allright, Well, before we talk a
little bit about what's taking place thisweek on the card, including games happening
on Friday, Mike, I'm wonderingwhere you're at with this whole Michigan sign
stealing story. Now, I don'tthink we know all the details, and

(02:13):
then I'm refraining to really giving thefull opinion at that point in time,
you know, until we get outall the details. But they're investigating,
and I'm just curious, is thisa big deal to you? Has anything
caught your attention? Are you evenremotely interested in this a big picture?
Does it have an effect on thisteam? Does it motivate them? All
that over to you? What doyou say that the whole Michigan sign stealing

(02:36):
situation? So to start, Ithink it's kind of weird that it comes
out this week while Michigan's on abuy. They don't have a game this
week, so I mean that thatcould have been a big distraction. It
sounds like there's been people in andarbor all week trying to get to the
bottom of this. I'm also withyou, though I don't really like to
speculate until we get all the information, all the details come out. But

(02:57):
I also am in the in thecorner of when they're smoked, there's typically
fire as well, So it seemslike one of those things where something definitely
shady has been going on. Somethingthat might might be against the rules,
but I don't think it's something that, unless it becomes too big of a
distraction, will affect Michigan this year. I think this is something that we'll
see happen down the line. Imean, we see things in college basketball

(03:19):
all the time with recruiting violations andwhatnot. Those penalties typically don't come in
for several years. With how slowand how poor the NCAA is we're in,
I don't think this will be somethingthat happens. And it's also one
of those situations where if Jim Harballis able to just get through this win
the national title, he could beoff to the NFL next year and not
have to worry about it at all. So I think it's one of those

(03:40):
things down the line. It mightaffect Michigan more in the long run,
kind of hurt the program down theroad, and Jim Harbaugh might be able
to escape it and this team inits own That's another stupid thing about college
sports. I feel like it's usuallythe kids and the new coaching staff down
the line usually pay the punishment forthe previous regime and the previous players.

(04:01):
So that's really all I have tosay on it and just kind of wait
until we get some more news tocome out to really give a bigger opinion
on the situation. Yeah, itseems like there's a lot of kicking the
tires on interesting angles and they're connectingthe dots, and again, for me,
it doesn't really have an effect onthe field at this point in time,

(04:23):
So got no interest in getting intoany of the dirty stuff from Michigan
side. I do think that theyare national championship contender. Quite frankly,
I'm not sure that I would sayi'd have anybody higher than them, Like,
I know it, come again,it's gonna work itself out, but
you know, with with the gamecoming up against Ohio State, but you
know, I just think that atthe end of the imp Enn State,

(04:45):
I just think that Michigan is achampionship caliber ball club and they keep it
simple. Harbaugh has been there beforethe success that they've had the last two
seasons, So I don't think anybodywould disagree with that, and I don't
think it's going to have an effecttoo much. It might actually motive right,
I find that these things do motivatesome some of the better teams out
there, and I think Michigan isthat, yeah, because now it's also

(05:08):
one of those things where if it'strue or not, it's one of those
things where Michigan, it's us againstthe world is pretty much when they're preaching,
no one wants to see us winanymore with the allegations true or not,
and everyone's going to be going againstus. So that could be one
of those things. But also, you know, the more media, more
investigators in there, it gets inthe way of things at times, and

(05:30):
the distractions off the field could causea problem. So I mean, it's
kind of one of those things We'rejust gonna have to wait and see down
the line. I wish they wereplaying like an inferior opponent this week,
like a Purdue or something, andsee if Perdue was able to keep it
within like ten points or something, and see, really if it is having
an effect on them. Well.As always, it feels like Dion gets

(05:50):
it right, and I thought histake was great a little earlier this week.
He's like, man, you canget the game plan, you can
mail it to me. I stillgot to stop it. So you know,
I think that there's some truth inthat, but cheating's cheating. Don't
get caught right. That's all Ican say about that. All right,
moving on, let's get to thegames. Yeah, you know, look,

(06:10):
I know, I hit the fastforward button and talking a little bit
of Alabama and LS. It's justinteresting because the SEC is a complete mess
right now, and I feel likea lot of these other conferences are gonna
just work itself out. Maybe theSEC does at the end of the day,
but kind of kind of feel likewe're gonna have anarchy at the end
of the season. I hope that'sthe case, but that's the fun pack.
Yeah right, But to the PACtwelve, I think it's gonna,

(06:31):
as always, it works itself out. This game Purdue or Purdue, not
Purdue exactly, Oregon and and whatthey have going on against Utah this weekend.
It is a do or die game, and if if one team loses,
they're out of the national they're outof the playoff picture. The PAC

(06:53):
twelve of course takes a hit.Still a couple of games left to go,
but this is this is one ofthose type games that hey, man,
you want to make a season, you win this game. It's being
played in Utah, as I justsaid, both teams playing for a little
something bigger this year. Six andone on the season, three and one
both in the Pac twelve identical records. The losses on their records so far

(07:15):
Utah twenty one seven loss to OregonState. They were nineteenth ranked Beaver's at
that point in time on September twentyninth, and the Ducks lost, of
course, that great game to Washingtontwo weeks ago. I believe number seven
Washington and thirty six thirty three. So to this game going off on a
Saturday once again. DraftKings Sports Bookis where we're getting our odds from,

(07:38):
and it is a three thirty kickoff. Gotta love that six ABC. I
believe we'll have the call as alwayshere in Philly, and it is a
six point spread Oregon favorite here onthe road in Utah forty seven and a
half. Ryan Coyle, it's always, you know, the statement is,
don't bet against Utah at home. They're catching six money line plus win eighty

(08:00):
five for the Dogs at home Utahminus two to twenty five Oregon. Where
you stand in this game? Yeah, so I actually got Utah earlier in
the week at plus seven. Ithink this is a really good spot for
them at home, and I gotthem at plus two to ten on the
money line as well. I thinkthat they're gonna win this game outright,
Like you were saying, They've wontheir last sixteen games at home and their

(08:22):
last two of their last three matchupsagainst Oregon. They won those games.
They've held Oregon in those last threegames to thirty seven total points. I
know that there's a new regime inthere and everything from the from a the
third game ago, but this isa team that was able to slow down
Oregon last year, holding them tojust twelve point three points per game in
their last three matchups. So thisis an Oregon offense that comes into the

(08:45):
game averaging forty seven points. Thisis one of the more elite offenses in
the country. But Kyle Whittingham hasjust shown the ability to slow down teams.
I mean, he kept a USCteam that routinely puts up forty points
under forty last week. Like Isaid, winning sixteen games at home,
they have one of the better homefield advantages. I am a little bit
disappointed though, that this is athree point thirty kickoff. This is like

(09:05):
twelve thirty out there. This islike a This should be like the night
game, the eight o'clock game, and that's when Utah is really tough at
home. I know they've won sixteenin a row, but that's where usually
they kind of impose their will onsome teams in those night games. But
I think it's a really good spotfor them. I'm a huge believer in
Oregon. I had them winning thatWashington game a few weeks ago. I
love the balance that they bring tothe table. But it's just time to

(09:28):
put Kyle Winning. Him up therewith the likes of Kirby Smart, Jim
Harball, and Nick Saban. Imean, with the resources that he has
at a program like Utah and justfinds a way to win double digit games
every year and knock off some ofthese more so finesse teams. I guess
you could say it's just an impressivefeat. So I think Utah is gonna
pull this one off at home.If you don't want to sprinkle on the

(09:48):
money line, I definitely like thatplus seven. This is a Utah team
that gets blown out. They founda way to go and overcome some obstacles
last week at USC and come backlate and win that game. I just
think just a team too good athome to bet against them, so I
really like them with the plus seventhere, even if you're getting at plus
six. Now all right, boom, we're already off and running with a
dog that bites. I like thesound of that again, as you pointed

(10:11):
out three thirty. All right, staying with the three thirty card. Here,
this game being played in Jacksonville asalways the world's largest cocktail party.
As they say, you got Georgiaand you got Florida, and of course
two different types of teams here. One team is on a twenty four game
winning streak. Of course, thatis Georgia seven and oh on the season.

(10:35):
Florida not too bad, like weremember that loss. Speaking of Utah
to open up the season where theyweren't they had they lacked a lot in
that game, got actually smashed fiveand two though here four and h at
home. As I said, gamebeing played in Jacksonville. Perfect record.
On the other side with Georgia,Graham Mertz making his fortieth career start in
college football, he's gonna be steadyinto boat. Big number on DraftKings where

(11:00):
it's but fourteen and a half isyour total opened up at forty nine and
a half now down to only atick as well at forty eight and a
half. Anything on this one foryou, Ryan, Yeah, So I
wore my Florida Gators shirt for thisgame. I like them to cover that
plus fourteen and a half in thisone, I fell into the trap,
which makes me a little bit worried. A few weeks ago home and they

(11:22):
played Kentucky and then Kentucky got absolutelyrolled. But when you look at this
Florida team and Graham merts the thingabout him when he was at Wisconsin,
he was like a turnover prone guy. He only has two interceptions on the
year, and Georgia's only forced nineturnovers this year. The past few years
they've been a much more opportunistic defense. They're like seventy fifth in the country

(11:43):
right now at forcing turnovers. SoFlorida is a team that when I think
when you look at teams that couldpotentially pull off an upset or as a
big underdog, you look at all, right, does this team turn the
ball over? Lout? Are theyplaying a team that's going to force some
turnovers and take possessions away. Floridadoesn't really turn the football over. Georgia
isn't a team that turns you over. So if they're gonna go possession for
possession, and Florida has shown theability to run the ball on some teams

(12:05):
this year, I think they're gonnabe able to hang around in this one.
Georgia has won the past two gamesin the series by an average of
twenty four and a half points. So this is a team that's been dominating
the past few years. But whenyou look historically, like George, one
of these teams hasn't really ran awaywith the rivalry. So it's this is
a huge game. I saw Ithink it was on video on Tuesday.

(12:26):
People were already moving their tailgating RVsinto the Jacksonville parking lot. So this
is one of the biggest games eachand every year in college football. And
I do really like Florida there atthe plus fourteen and a half. I
think if they just take care ofthe football, they're gonna be able to
hang around. They've shown the abilityto put up some points, and I
don't think that they're really gonna bethat scared of this Georgia team that hasn't
really looked exactly like world beaters likewe've seen in the past few seasons.

(12:50):
So this is one I'm really lookingat Florida plus fourteen and a half.
It also opened at plus twenty. It opened at twenty and a half,
so we're all the way down tofour team and a half now. I
think that says something about Florida pluslike five hundred on the money line.
This is a game where I knowI like to come on here and call
some upsets, some upset alerts, but I think we're due for one of

(13:11):
these top teams. We saw unclast week go down. But one of
these top teams, whether it's inOhio State, whether it's a Georgia Michigan,
one of these top teams in thetop five is going to fall at
some point and really cast some chaos. And I'm looking at this as a
potential spot, not guaranteeing it.Not as confident as I was in that
Duke Clemson game at the beginning ofthe year, but this was one I

(13:33):
do like that fourteen and a halffor the Gators. All right, Well,
to open up beef up front withthis episode, here, two dogs
straight off to jump with some seriousbite. I mean, we're taking Utah
at home outright, and we're ridingwith the Gators against Georgia again. Brock
Bauers, big time loss at thatpoint or with him, but still a

(13:54):
team that has found ways to blowother teams out and win games. As
I said, twenty four game winstreak. So as far as that game,
one thing, I'd like to addtwo with that if you don't like
the fourteen and a half full game, I do like the first half spread.
Georgia has been a team that hasreally done well after halftime, making
halftime adjustments. And they're coming intothis game the first game. This is

(14:16):
the first game without Bowers as hegot injured in that Vanderbilt game. They
had their bye last week, Sothis is a team I think is going
to have to be making some adjustmentson the fly. I Floyer is able
to come out hot, maybe getthe ball first, go down and score.
This is a Georgia team that mightbe reeling a little bit, so
I think I got it at plusseven and a half in the first half
as well earlier in the week. That's a play I like in this game
too. Excellent, All right,Ryan, let's keep it moving, but

(14:37):
staying in the SEC. Really intriguedabout this. When Julianeedo from Draftings Sportsbook
joined me on The Daily Ticke alittle earlier this week and said he liked
Kentucky catching points against ten s C. This game is going off at seven
pm. Kentucky three and a halfpoint dogs at home, both teams five
and two on the season, bothteams four and three ats both teams five

(15:00):
and two in their last ten identicalacross the board. As I said,
Kentucky at home catching points. Anythoughts on this one right? Yeah,
I feel like I'm beating the samedrum, But I do like Kentucky in
this one tool three and a half. That's one of the plays that I've
been most profitable on this year isthose home dogs being able to have those

(15:20):
situations. That's something I take alot, especially on the money line too.
Like I hit a pretty nice playa few weeks ago with Oklahoma State
as a home dog against Kansas.I got them at I believe it was
plus one eighty five that was awinner there. This is a Kentucky team
that is coming off some rests aswell, and they're playing a Tennessee team
that was up at halftime at Alabamatwenty to seven. Alabama comes back to

(15:43):
cover that nine and a half pointspread in that game like that has to
be such a deflating loss for Tennessee. Now you have to go on the
road to another SEC team. Ijust think that the arrow is kind of
pointing down for Tennessee right now,and this is a potential get right spot
back at home for Kentucky. Startbuilding some juice back up to compete down
the line to get to that doubledigit win mark, which is Kentucky's kind

(16:07):
of goal after these past few seasons. And another thing that I like about
Kentucky in this matchup, Florida showedthe ability at the beginning of the year
to run all over this Tennessee defenseand really kind of impose their will in
the running game. Kentucky was ableto do the exact same thing earlier in
the year to Florida. This isa team that had over three hundred rushing
yards in that game. If they'reable to kind of implement that same game

(16:27):
plan against Tennessee control the clock, this is a game that I think Kentucky
can pull off the upset at home. So there we are three straight games
to start it, and I likethe underdogs. But if you're giving me
a home home home points of thehome team as a dog in this one.
That's a spot I take nine timesout of ten. Yeah, it's
tough to pass up, and especiallywhat we've seen so far. You just

(16:48):
listed a couple of games and alwayslove catching points at home. Team gets
a little bit more motivation playing infront of their crowd, and crazier stuff
happens, meaning refs like to giveyou some calls from time time, so
you know, with the home hometowncooking, all right, let's keep it
moving and next one I want toget to. We definitely got to mention
Ohio State because you know, likeI hate to say it, but man,

(17:11):
they've been pretty impressive and I don'tthink they're getting the credit because I
think a lot of us expect, you know, the Michigan's going to knock
them off, and I don't knowwhat happens if that doesn't happen. Iowa
State runs the damn table here.Anyways, they're fourteen and a half point
dogs are our favorites on the roadat Wisconsin seven thirty pm. Is this
buck the trend? Is this aplace that you would say it's either taking
the favorite buck guys on the roador pass or where you at in this

(17:33):
one? Yeah, This is oneI'm actually gonna take the Buckeyes to cover
on the road. They've won ninestraight at or against Wisconsin and they own
an average margin of victory during thatspan of eighteen point three points per game.
So when I think of Wisconsin historically, I think of a team that
keeps it close, but they havenot been able to do that at all
against Ohio State just because of Wisconsinsolid play. They typically, as we've

(17:57):
seen over the years, just ateam that likes defense around the football and
with that, you think close games. But Ohio State has really outmatched them
and they're a battle Excuse me,they're a battle tested team. And that's
why I think going forward they havethe chance to knock off Michigan just because
they had that tough game against PennState last week where one of the uglier
games wouldn't even touch on that, and then the Notre Dame game as well.

(18:19):
That's two big time victories that Michiganby that time in the season.
The only tough game that they're gonnahave played is the is the Penn State
game. So it is an OhioState team that I do think as the
chance to knock them off going forward. But Ohio State, like I said,
they've dominated this rivalry against Wisconsin.I think that their defense is really

(18:40):
eye popping, Like that is somethingthat's really stuck out to me. Completely
shut down Penn State last week, held them to fifteen on third down until
that final drive when they finally convertedone. But I just don't think without
their quarterback. With Tanner Mordecai stillout, I think Wisconsin's going to struggle
to move the football unless Braylen Allen'sable to break a few big runs.
But they were That Ohio State defenseheld the Penn State backfield to a pretty

(19:03):
slowed day last week as well.So this is a spot where I'm actually
not gonna take the points with thehome team, and I will lay them
with Ohio State. I'll tell youright now, I'm looking at that under
forty five and a half. That'sgot my attention. Yeah, I got
it actually at forty three and ahalf earlier in the week. I think
this is like a twenty seven toten type game. I just don't really
think Wisconsin's going to be able tomove the ball. I think, for

(19:26):
once, the Ohio State defense isa unit that's carrying this team. I
agree. All right, that's aninteresting game that I probably will take a
flyer on as far as the underis concerned. Once again, seven to
thirty pm. DraftKings Sportsbook fourteen anda half for the buck guys. Forty
five and a half is your totalin that one? All right, let's
get to one more here. AndI'm really curious because again they're not in

(19:48):
the top five, but they're oneof those top dogs. They're undefeated,
perfect seven to zero on the season, just skating by. Of course,
I'm talking about Oklahoma and is thisthe week that they finally get knocked off
Kansas? Pretty good squad at homecatching nine noon kickoff, maybe a catch
or Oklahoma for the pickings. It'sa little early start out there. Sixty

(20:11):
five is your total on that one, Ryan Coyle, Are we going to
see anything close to an upset?Plus nine? Are you going with the
favorite Oklahoma Sooners on the road.Yeah. So it's another one where we've
had some line movement. Earlier inthe week it was ten and a half.
But a note on this matchup.Oklahoma has not lost to Kansas since
October fourth of nineteen ninety seven.I wasn't even born yet and The Sooners

(20:36):
are riding an eighteen game winning streakin this rivalry. So this is a
domination across the board from Oklahoma. This year, it's certainly a little different
this Kansas is a program on therise. This is a game I do
like the points, and I likea lot of points. I think we
see a shootout in this one.Oklahoma was playing with their food a little
bit last week, narrowly escape abad UCF team at home. This is

(21:00):
a spot that Oklahoma should be onupset alert. I will take Kansas with
the points I gues said I hadhim earlier. May we get ten and
a half. I think that they'llkeep this probably under a touchdown. But
I do think Oklahoma will still winthe game out right. But I think
that these two teams kind of goback and forth, and it's an exciting,
exciting way to kick off the noonslate. All right, couple of
rapid fire. Are you ready togo? Yep? And then we'll get

(21:22):
all your plays that we haven't hit. But Florida State, your squad acc
nothing to worry about against wake ForestRight twenty and a half on DraftKings Sportsbook
Noon Kickoff fifty two total. Yeah, one. I took the in that
game. I took the over withFlorida State, another team where with like
Georgia, I kind of said,at the beginning starts slow a little bit
by half, but by halftime theykind of find out maybe where some of

(21:45):
those mismatches are that they're able totake advantage of. And we saw it
against Duke, we saw it afew weeks ago against Syracuse. This is
a team that performs better in thesecond half. So I do like Florida
State again this week. Talk tome about the Irish they're taking on Pit
and a half point favorites three thirtykick forty five total. I know we
haven't really focused on Notre Dame, but Sam Hartman is still a damn good

(22:06):
quarterback. Twenty and a half anythingin this game. It's not one that's
on my car. I don't havethat one written down, but twenty and
a half, that's a big number, even against a PIT team that's struggling
this year. Is that game atNotre Dame or at PIT that game is
at Notre Dame South Bend, that'sstill a pretty big number. I think
I would actually lean for pitting thatone plus twenty and a half. I

(22:27):
just don't really know at this stageof the game if Notre Dame is a
team that's gonna be dominating like that, like they really caught USC off guard
last a few weeks ago. ButI will I will probably if you had
to make me take a pick inthat one, take pit plus twenty and
a half, all right, thirtyseconds on each and two games left here,
and I just had the one thatI wanted to get your take on

(22:48):
because I know that there's some somebackstory between these two teams, and of
course with you and now I'm justlosing. Oh there it is air Force
air Force at Colorado State. AirForce could be a wagon as they say,
two touchdown favorite forty six and ahalf pushed last week versus Navy.
Anything on this one. I wouldprobably take the under in that one.

(23:10):
We talked about it last week withAir Force's rushing game, the number one
rush rushing offense in the country andthen the number one defense in the country
as well. They showed last week. I said, if they're able to
stifle the run game of Navy, that they're not going to be able to
move the ball on them. Ithink it's kind of the same thing in
this one. Keep keep that offenseon the field, run the clock,
and let's let's let our defense dothe work when they're out there as well.

(23:32):
So I like the over in theexcuse me that was in that game,
and that was a tough, toughl tough push. The way that
that game ended last week very unfortunatefor the Air Force backers final game.
Thirty seconds on the clock, alittle bit of a late one here.
Yeah, the latest game on thecard Oregon State and Arizona. Anything for
you in this one. This isalso a big game Oregon State three point

(23:53):
favorites game being played in Arizona.Fifty seven and a half is your total.
That's one I do like Arizona andlike that's a weird line Arizona.
I believe it's only four and threeon the season, but they've they've played
teams tough and certainly a program withthe arrow headed up. But that's still
one where Oregon State number eleven inthe country, you think they'd be like
a touchdown favor in that game.So that's one that the line's telling me

(24:15):
that Arizona has a shot not justto cover the spread in that one,
but to pull off the potential outrightupset. That could be another one of
those kind of you you throw awrench in the Pac twelve where we didn't
see this one coming, and that'ssomething that you might wake up to on
Sunday morning and be like, Wow, Arizona actually pulled off that upset.
So I am looking at that oneat three. I got it at three
and a half earlier in the week. Excellent. All right, any final

(24:37):
plays that we did not hit thatyou would like to put out there for
the listening audience. I will actuallybe at the Penn State game, my
first ever Penn State game. SoI took the Penn State team total over
of thirty eight and a half.I think Franklin's gonna try and you know,
get the sour tase out of theirmouth from last week's performance and really
try and run up the scoreboard inthis one. I think they're a thirty

(25:00):
one and a half point favorite aswell. Wouldn't be surprised to see them
cover that number. This is ifFranklin has a chance, he's gonna try
and win win this one like fortynine to nothing. It's a good call.
