(00:03):
In its earliest days, the majorfunction of radio was news. Going on
here, beautiful, let everybody go. Why don't you put on a show
and charge it mission? Okay,so I would say something would music.
(00:27):
I'm comedy. Now you're talking. It will be a show for everyone who
loves music and murder. Come on, Chuck, we gotta take show to
dude, showtime. Are you ready? I'm ready to your baby job and
happy Monday. No, it's acrappy Monday bucket. A suck is what
(00:49):
it is. Commanders just laid anegg yesterday, Dude. I expect to
expected, really to. Well,it's only six expected to see the headline
this morning, and that somebody gotfired where multiple people got fired. Yeah,
something, something's got to change.Six turnovers, I mean the Giants
played like crap, and even withsix turnovers, the Commanders were somehow still
(01:15):
in the game. And then thatlast interception at the end of the game
when they were trying to make comebackjust kind of put the nail on the
coffin. We'll talk to London Fletcherabout eight o'clock this morning, if he
even wants to speak. I don'tterrible, absolutely terrible. It's got awful.
(01:36):
It's just embarrassing. We have,on a brighter note, Steve Vyi
and Joe Satriani tickets to give awaytoday. That's for a show coming up
in April at Warner Theater thanks toLive Nation Trans Siberian Orchestra. Yes,
it is that time of year againand there's a show at Capitol One Arena
on the fourteenth of December, andwe have the tickets for that new big
(01:57):
word of the week. It isa short work week this week, so
it'll be a three letter word. But your first letter coming up at seven
thirty this morning, prize for thebig word of the week that will give
away Wednesday Iron Maiden tickets. Thatshow is in twenty twenty eight, something
like that. Something like that. It's a year from now. It is
(02:19):
a year from now. It isoh you know what, it is exactly,
well not exactly but just about exactlya year from now. It's the
November of twenty four, November twelfth, that's at CFG. So we'll talk
more about that. I told youwhy they do that. Man, they
do these on sales early. Theythrow all that money in a interest building
account and make more money. Yeah, it's all about making money, money.
(02:44):
It's all about making the money, all right. So we will take
care of some quick business here andwe will be back to it in just
a few At six eleven Big onehundred, Good morning. This is Big
Rock Mornings with Jackson on Big onehundred. There we go back to play.
Washington's at a timeouts, twenty ninepicks left, twenty four to nineteen
(03:05):
Giants. They're at the giants fortyeight yard line. Pals are the gun.
Robinson too has left three wide receiversto the right. Larson makes a
check. Now the step Giants breakfive. Pressure up the middle palace.
The step up picks away from Dexter. Lawrence now throws it up in the
air and off Isaiah Sibbons fifty fortyfive, forty thirty, twenty five twenty
Charles Allers chasing him but won't catchhim at Simmons goes in for a pick
(03:28):
six, and the Giants are goingto sweep the Commanders. Yeah. That's
that was it, man, That'sthat was it. That was you know,
there was still a chance right atthe end of that game to maybe
maybe clean up that debacle. Thatwas a game yesterday. It was like
twenty nine seconds left in the game, fourth quarter. I think that was
(03:49):
first and fifteen and the Giants wereup twenty four nineteen, but the Commanders
were marching down the field. Ilove the difference in calling. When you
listen to the home play call, which he just did with Bram, he's
just like intercepted. He's running itback. You can just tear the disappointment
in his voice. Right, He'slike, if you're not paying attention,
(04:12):
you don't even realize it was intercepted. Way different from when the Commanders score,
when he's like touched out, whatif they did? But here is
the I'm just gonna play this offon my laptop because I couldn't find a
way to import it. But thiswas the national play call at the end
of the game. Let's see ifit works here on the Giants forty eight
out under pressure, and then hewill throw Isaiah Simmons with the interception down
(04:40):
the sideline, Simmons into the endzone, touchdown Giants on their six take
away. He got the difference. It's just like night and day, night
and day. Uh yeah, thatwas it. And then the showers didn't
work at FedEx Field after the gamelast night. How's that, so you
(05:02):
know, you stink on the field, you stink off the field. That
was terrible. I can't imagine whatthose players must have felt like though,
after losing that game and it's justbeen a rough season, and then to
go into the locker room and whocares about the visiting team, screw the
Giants, But to go into thelocker room and there's no showers. What
happened to the shower? No hotwater? There was no hot water,
(05:23):
so I suppose you could take acold shower if you wanted. They never
said why, but it's FedEx.What do I mean? Who knows what's
gonna happen next, What's gonna collapseor break next? I don't know,
but there was no hot water afterthat loss. It's just flipping terrible,
terrible. I do think we'll talkto Dennis about this a little bit later
this morning. London Fletcher will beon the show just after eight o'clock this
(05:46):
morning. I think some stuff's probablycoming down. I can't imagine that it
wouldn't. Yeah, I don't knowhow bad it's gonna be, but it
may be a bloody Monday today. We'll see. We'll see what happens on
a brighter. Noticed Biden's birthday today? Oh did you know that? I
did not know that. Yeah.I think he's like eighty one. Does
(06:10):
that sound right? I think he'seighty one today. It's throw um a
surprise party over there, a looat his age, everything, everything's a
surprise. Yeah, he's eighty one. Look at that, Happy birthday,
President Biden. And I saw didyou see Have you been following the Santo
(06:31):
story? Yeah? Did you seethe House investigators release their ethics violation report
on George Santos. He found hespent campaign money on botox, on gambling,
on only fans, on and delist just went on and it kind
of warms my heart a little bit. It's like politicians are just like us.
(06:55):
We're okay, yeah, but yeah, he says he's not going to
run again. Really probably a smartmove, buddy, Probably a smart move.
All right. So coming up herein just a bit things, I
know, we'll get to that atabout six fifty. We have some tickets
to give away. Let's do.I have Steve Van Jos Satriani, but
(07:18):
I also have tso tickets try andde side? Which pair I want to
give away? Now? Well,I'll tell you what we'll do one now
early and then we'll flip it tomorrowand we'll give the other pay pair away
early. So we're gonna do aTrans Siberian Orchestra on the fourteenth of December
and Capitol One Arena. Those ticketsare up for grabs. I'm gonna make
(07:39):
it super easy for you, andno, I mean really really easy with
world. So you see is triviaone eight hundred fortnite three to one double
three is the phone number. Youreally cannot get this wrong unless your brain
dead. Now that being said, people have missed it. But we'll take
the first caller through a one threeone double O three and we'll most likely
(08:03):
set you up with Trans Siberian Orchestratickets. Tis this season, Good luck
from Big one hundred, Washington's ClassicRockets Big one hundred, World's Easiest Trivia.
We have tso tickets to give away. We're gonna have these to give
away again tomorrow and Wednesday. Tisthis season after all for Trans Siberian Orchestra,
and we'll go to the phones highBig one hundred. Who's this all
(08:24):
right? Rick? How you doingthis morning? Bud? Doing good?
Good good? We've got your chanceto win Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets for the
fourteenth of December with world's easiest trivia. You ready, I hope so?
Okay? Who won the Commander's Giantsgame yesterday? Giant? Yeah. The
only thing that could have screwed youthere is if you were just somebody who
(08:46):
did not care about football at all. Yeah, it was terrible. It
was very terrible. Yeah, terrible. Are you not a big football fan?
No? What your sport? Oh? Your baseball? Guy? And
hockey? Nice? All right,I'm with you on the hockey for sure.
Baseball, it's all right. Allright, buddy. We're gonna set
(09:09):
you up with TSO tickets for thefourteenth of December at Capitol One Arena.
Hold on and we'll get you allset up. Okay, you bet.
Washington's Classic Rocket's big one hundred thingsI know coming up. Also, we're
gonna have a chance a little bitlater this morning to win tickets to see
Steve and Joe Satriani coming up inApril. It is big one hundred.
(09:33):
Washington's Classic Rocket is big one hundred. Lucy in the sky with diamonds ll
Steve, you buy that? Yeah, And I've heard that's not what Yeah,
because we've all heard that myth. But there was he but then he
denied it. He says he gaveit a reason for what the song was
about, hanging. But I listenedto it and I go and then you're
(09:56):
full of crap. That's about acid. Lucy in the Sky with diamonds.
He said something about I remember readingit was somebody that he that Julian had
a class with. It was somebodythat drew a picture. Yes, right,
it was a kid that drew apicture and they hung it on the
fridge and it was Lucy in theSky with diamonds. I'm like, nah,
(10:18):
I'm not buying it. I'm notbuying your cover for drugs. The
identity of the real Lucy was confirmedby Julian in two thousand and nine when
she died of complication. Well that'sthat's sad. Yeah, she was in
a class with Julian and she drewa picture or he drew the picture of
Lucy in the Sky with diamond Yes, huh, I don't buy it.
(10:39):
It's drugs. It's time for things. I know it's more interesting if it's
about drugs. Did you know morethan three million Americans over the age of
sixty are still paying student loans. That's a total of more than eighty six
(11:03):
billion dollars in unpaid student loans. That's frightening when you're like sixty five years
old and you're like, I'm stillpaying my student loans. Like we got
a problem. Uh, the switchto daylight savings time couldn't be even worse.
One of the original plans this isterrible was to set the clocks forward
(11:26):
twenty minutes every Sunday in April,so to do it over time. I
guess I'm you know. The songyou Gotta Fight for your Right to Party
The Beastie Boys was actually written asa parody on frat boy culture and heavy
metal songs like Smoking in the BoysRoom and I Want a Rock from Twisted
(11:50):
Sister. It was meant to bea joke. The band was actually quite
annoyed that people took it at facevalue and it became a hit an anthem
party Wow. The first whales hadlegs, and they used to swim by
wiggling their feet. Over millions ofyears, those legs evolved into flippers.
(12:13):
If you don't buy evolution, wellthen I guess you're not gonna buy that
Lamborghini started as a tractor company.I didn't know this in nineteen forty eight.
The founder did not start his carcompany until nineteen sixty three. So
Lamborghinia originally made tractors. The longestyear in history forty six BC. It
(12:37):
was four hundred and forty five dayslong, and it was because Julius Caesar
transitioned from the Roman calendar to thethree sixty five day calendar. And I
might remember this. There was anorganization called bad be a d D kind
(13:01):
of like Mad Mother's and strum Drivingin the eighties, and it stood for
Bothered about Dungeons and Dragons, andit was for parents who believed dungeons and
dragons was evil, sattanic and corruptingtheir children. People had a real problem
with the devil A really did.Man. They they was like burning records
and no dungeons and dragons and landrecords backwards. You hear the voice of
(13:24):
same night. It was crazy, man, crazy. I think I told
you this. I want. Mygrandmother took me to like a record burning
yet her church nuts nuts, andyou know, I just was like,
it's gonna be cool with Grandma. So I brought a NAUSI record, like,
(13:45):
I guess I could burn this one. I mean and tell me that
you participated in it. I did. I brought like one record. She's
like, I want you to getyour records, and I was like,
just trying to make grandma happy.I was like, I grabbed like an
NAUSI record. I was like,I can I can throw this one away,
I can buy it again, orI have it on cassette. It's
(14:05):
cool. And of course she sawthe cover of Diary of a Madman and
with a dive. I mean, you look at the cover of Diary of
a Madman. I can see it. You must see that, all right.
That's things I know. At sixfifty five. Coming up in the
(14:26):
seven o'clock hour, we're going togive you the big word of the week.
First letter comes your way at sevenpoint thirty three letter word this week
because it is a short week andwe have Iron Maiden tickets up for grabs.
Also going to chat with London Fletcherabout that debacle of a game last
(14:46):
night just after eight o'clock this morning. We'll get his thoughts on I don't
know, man, I you kindof smell a blood bath coming, yeah,
kind of smell it in the air. I could be wrong, but
we'll see. It is Big onehundred and six fifty six. Good morning
Rush, there's some Big one hundredWashington's classic rock. I read a little
(15:09):
tidbit about Gedty Lee this morning.Did you see that? Did you know
Geddy Lee's highest charting single is nota Rush song? I read that and
he says he does not resent it. His highest charting single not with Rush.
It was with Bob and Doug.Bob and Doug McKenzie, by the
(15:31):
way, Strange Brew one of thegreatest movies ever, and it was a
song called Takeoff. His highest chartingsingle, Bob and Doug McKenzie's song take
Off. And if you don't rememberBob and Doug, they were the fictional
pair of Canadian brothers from I thinkthey were on SCTV, which was like
(15:52):
Canada's version of Vesenel back in theeighties, and it was Rick Moranis and
Dave Thomas. And of course theyhad a movie, Strange Brew, which,
by the way, if you haven'tseen, although it might be one
of those movies where I pop iton the TV now and go okay,
maybe it wasn't as good as Ithought it was. But I used to
love that movie, love Him.I mean a movie about a couple Canadian
(16:15):
guys drinking beer. Right, that'sawesome and take Off with Bob and Doug
and Getty. Lee peaked at numbersixteen on the Billboard one hundred Singles Start
in nineteen eighty two, which wasfive spots higher than Russia's New World Man.
But Getty says he's cool with it. He says, actually, he
said he loves it. It's kindof cool. I'd love to talk to
(16:40):
a plumber and see if this istrue. Black Friday is coming up day
after Thanksgiving, big, big shoppingday. Apparently plumbers call it brown Friday,
and it's their busiest day of theyear. I've heard this before,
like I've heard this for years, but I don't know if it's fact or
if it's one of those things thatis a myth that just kind of worked
(17:02):
its way into pop culture. Ifyou're a plumber, four and three one
double of tree, Brown Friday, they say it's real busiest day of the
year for plumbers. Rota Router expectsto see about a fifty percent increase in
calls. And you start thinking, well, why thing, And then you
think Thanksgiving and all the guests atpeople's houses, and I guess, I
(17:26):
don't know, browned Friday, it'sit's not just the toilets barely. You
get to a lot of clogged kitchensinks and garbage disposals. And they say
a lot of people don't realize theirsystem is already partially clogged until guests arrive,
(17:48):
and then too many people are tryingto use everything at once, and
it finally overwhelms the system. Theplumbers give a few tips. Don't use
the flushable wipes. They're not reallyflushable. I have heard this before.
You know those wipes you can buyin the grocery store now, and it's
like flushable. Plumbers are like, don't do it, they're not really flushable.
(18:12):
I don't know, don't use them. I guess if you have guests
over asked them to wait ten minutesbetween showers, it'll give the pipes more
time to drain. Okay, thisone's kind of obvious. Don't pour fats
and cooking the oils down the drain. They will solidify and clog up your
pipes. And don't put starchy thingsin your garbage disposal, like potato peels
(18:38):
or rice. They do not breakdown well and should be tossed into a
compost or the trash instead, becausethey will clog up your pipes. Brown
Friday, Brown Friday, Brown Friday. We've got some tickets to give away
for Steve Vyan Jo Satriani show iscoming up in April to Warner Theater.
(19:00):
We're gonna have those thanks to LiveNation. Well, I'll tell you what
we'll do. We'll play today.Let's play what have we learned on the
show today? All right? Soat the end of the show, not
quite the end, I mean,we go commercial free at about nine,
so we'll say right around the timeDennis comes in with Sports on Tap,
we'll give you a question. It'llbe about this morning show. Could be
(19:23):
anything we talked about little trivia onthe show. If you were listening,
you'll know it. It'll be easy, all right. So that's coming up
in about eight fifty, and ifyou get that correct, we'll give you
Steve Vai and Joe Saccianti tickets forthe Warner Theater in April. Again,
what have we learned on the showtoday? We'll do that at about eight
fifty. All you have to dois listen again. We try to make
(19:45):
it easy, so it should betoo tough. One eight hundred four nine
three one double O three. Allright, quick break, We're back to
in just a few seven twelve,Big one hundred, Good Morning, Washington's
classic crock HiT's Big one hundred,Zazi Crazy Trained. This is why I
don't eat fruits and vegetables. Salmonellaand cantalopes sickens dozens in fifteen states,
(20:07):
including a victim in Maryland, notherin Virginia. At least forty three people
in fifteen states. Seventeen of thosepeople were hospitalized. It's several brands of
the whole and pre cut candalopes Malachiitabrand never heard of it, Malacheeda whole
(20:30):
canalopes, and Vineyard brand pre cutcantalopen all the whole canalopes in pre cut
fruit product. Do you know whatif you have cannilopen, your fridge is
thrown away. It's not worth it, isn't it out of seasons? Now
worth taking the risk? I don'tknow told you some fruits and vegetables don'n't
kill you. It's away. It'salways the bagged lettuce or ahead of lettuce,
(20:56):
or bagged spinach or canalope. It'salways some sort of melon or lettuce
or spinach. Spinach is a bigone, so you steer clear of those
things. You never get Sellvonilla. You ever had food poisoning? Yes,
dude, that is not pleasant. No, that is not pleasant. Only
(21:18):
had it once and it was brutal. Oh, just even thinking back to
it, it was terrible. I'mnot even sure how I got it.
I said it twice twice, andone of them wasn't quite as bad as
the other one. The other onewas from one of them was I don't
know how I got it. Theother one was from a fast food restaurant.
(21:41):
My wife and I were traveling andI been on the road for hours
and we're not typically like fast food. People were like, screw up,
we're starving, and we pulled intoa place which will remain nameless, and
within six hours we're both like bad. It was terrible. It was.
It was bad. She was alittle worse than I was, but it
(22:02):
was not pleasant. Yeah, youdon't want that crap, not at all.
Do you see Ron Jeremy? Youknow Ron Jeremy is right, shut
up, you know who he is. I'm talking to people out there going
who you know who Ron Jeremy, the porn star from back in the day.
He's gone, dude, his brainis fried. He's got dementia.
(22:26):
You know, he was up.I just saw this this morning because I
had texted a friend of mine.I was like, didn't you just meet
this guy a couple of years ago. Friend of mine, her husband works
on you know, small movies andproduction of like commercials and things like that,
and they had hired Ron Jeremy tocome in and be a part and
I think it was a commercial orsomething, and she was like, She's
(22:49):
like, oh, he's nasty. He was creepy, and we were filming
in this house where it was likeone hundred degrees and he was just covered
in sweat and then he asked meto sit on his lap and she's like
it was just terrible. But Isaw he was. He was supposed to
go to trial for quite a fewaccusations of sexual assault, rape even and
(23:14):
they determined he is not fit tostand trial really because he's got severe dementia.
Yeah, so he's in he's ina home of some sort. There
was all those pictures and videos thatcame out, like when when he was
initially being accused like it was duringthe pandemic, and so he looks bad.
Then, well he's always looking well, I mean he's always he looks
(23:37):
bad for Ron Jeremy. Dude, even when bron Jeremy was like a porn
star, he was like, eh, he looked he looked like he was
dying. Then yeah, yeah,I was surprised. I just I saw
the headline this morning. He said, not fit to stand trialing? What
what's going on? It's like RonJeremy went crazy? No dementia, he's
(24:00):
I mean seventy years old. Didn'trealize he was that old either. It's
probably the syphilist dude. He liveda hard life. Symphilis makes people go
crazy, it does untreated syphilis fromall his years of porno, I guess.
But they determined that there's nothing theycan do. He doesn't even know
(24:21):
where he's at, and he'll spendout the remainder of his days and some
sort of old folks home with dementia. That's what a terrible, terrible,
terrible disease. When I was akid high school, we had to take
a field trip. It was partof like a home economics class. I
want to say, maybe it wassociology, but we as a class went
(24:41):
to an old folks home and allthey wanted us to do is we toured
the place and then they wanted theyassigned us like some elderly people to sit
and chat with, and then wecame back to school and talked about our
experience. Right, so we werein there was like three of us,
and we were in with his husbandand wife, and I remember thinking,
Oh, it's so cool that theyat least get to you know, they're
(25:03):
old, and at least they getto be together. And they're together in
this this room, at this eventhough they're at home, at least they're
together. And they had pictures allover the walls, and I remember looking
up at one of the pictures andI was like, oh, that's a
great picture. Who is that? And the old man was like, Oh,
that is crap. That is inthe wife's like that's our son,
(25:25):
and I was like, Oh,that sucks. And then there were then
there were a few more things thathappened where it took me a minute to
realize, but I'm like, Ah, this poor guy, he doesn't even
doesn't even remember his son. Thatis just awful, awful feel for those
people terrible, except for Ron Jeremy. I don't care about him, especially
(25:48):
with all the rape allegations, andRon Jeremy you can know, not too
concerned about him. All right,it is seven point thirty four. It
looks like you're gonna see highs inthe fifties today, increasing clouds a little
bit later this afternoon. Well,we got some cold and wet weather rolling
in tomorrow, but should clear outby Thanksgiving, and it'll be chilly,
(26:12):
but it'll be nice. But wemay see quite a bit of rain and
nastiness tomorrow. So there you go, all right, coming up London Fletcher
on the show just after eight o'clock. We will also have, as I
mentioned earlier, a chance to winthose Steve Vin Joe Satriani tickets and that
is gonna be with what did welearn on the show? Today's a little
(26:33):
trivia question about something we talked aboutduring the show. We'll do that around
eight to fifty with Dennis Glasgow Sportson tap. Right now. This is
gonna be your chance to win IronMaiden tickets at the end of the week.
It is a short week, soit's only a three letter word.
This week. We give you aletter each day about this time. At
the end of the week, it'ssposed word No, the word win the
prize Iron Maiden CFG shows a waysoff, but it's Maiden. Come on
(26:57):
next November twenty twenty four. Sotime for your first letter. The big
word of the week on Big onehundred two days letter is the letter R
is in ron Jeremy. The letterR is in repulsive Ron Jeremy. The
(27:18):
letter R is in repro bait RonJeremy. Letter R. All right,
so letter R again. It's ashort week, so we're only doing a
three letter word this week, butwe'll give you another letter, your second
letter tomorrow right about this time.On Big one hundred, Good morning,
Washington's Classic Rockets Big one hundred. There's Van Halen Panama. Will we hear
(27:41):
Van Halen songs again? It's upto Sammy Hagar. We will looks like
this tour, He's guy coming upis going to be focused uh. Him
and Michael Anthony as always going tobe focused on going deep into the Van
Halen catalog. I'm down with it. This is tour. They're going to
bring along Joe Satriani and Jason Bonham. I'm drum it's a flipping supergroup right
(28:07):
there. That's Michael Anthony on bass, Sammy Hagar on vocals, Joe Satriani
on guitar, and Jason Bonham ondrums. Sammy Hagar is hitting the road
next summer for the Best of AllWorlds tour and says, quote, We're
going to go deep into the VanHalen catalog. I just heard a commercial
for this yesterday and I want tosay it's coming in July to the area.
(28:29):
I think so not surprisingly Van HalenBassis. Michael Anthony is definitely going
to be along for the ride, and Sammy says, quote, it will
be almost exactly twenty years since Mikeand I did a reunion with Ed and
Alex in four and he says,we just can't wait another twenty years,
(28:51):
and they want they want to getout there and play some Van Halen songs.
So looking forward to that. Iactually put a message in to see
if we can get Sammy on theair because he is one of my all
time favorites to talk to. Tothe interview, he's just a super cool
dude. He's getting up there inage and he still looks like he's thirty.
Still like the coolest guy in theway. He's like, he's seriously
(29:15):
like the coolest rock star unplaneted Earth. He's got a house in Cobbo.
You know, he made the tequilafor one and he started making rum and
he's got his club and he hasa new beer out now too. It's
just it's Sammy's the coolest ever.I actually have one of his cookbooks.
It's like Sammy Hagar's Party Food orsomething, and I use it. I
do the Red Rocker. Yeah,he's one of my all time favorites.
(29:37):
So we'll see if we can gethim on to talk about that tour that's
coming up again. I think it'scoming over the summer here, and I'm
sure as it gets closer we'll probablyhave some tickets to give away for that
and I will definitely be at thatshow. All right, London Fletch,
who's going to be on the show, coming up just after eight o'clock this
morning. We'll talk about that painfulI'm done painful Commander's loss last night.
(30:03):
I mean six turnovers, three ofthose interceptions by Sam how it was just
ugly. It was just ugly.It was the giants, just ugly.
Anyway, we'll chat with London aboutthat game coming up just after eight o'clock
plus Florida Man about eight thirty andDennis Glasgow is Sports on Top, Sports
(30:25):
on Tap at about eight fifty thismorning, seven fifty two. It's Big
one hundred. Good morning. Ohincidentally, that Sammy Hagar Show is July
twentieth a jiffy loubelve. There yougo, July twentieth. I'm gonna actually
write that down, thank you. There we go, all right, beautiful,
sit tight. We'll be back ina for that. Washington's Classic Rocky
is Big one hundred. It's NirvadaAnd on the line we have mister London
(30:49):
Fletcher to talk about that game yesterdayafternoon. London, welcome to the program.
What's going on? Man? WellI've been better? Yeah, okay,
yeah, you just got to DC. Imagine imagine o't pay Well.
That was painful, man, thatthat was That was painful. I it
(31:12):
just the Commanders out gamed the Giantsfour hundred and three yards to two hundred
and ninety two, controlled the clockfor like ten minutes longer, scoring touchdowns
on two of their three trips tothe red zone. Right only had one
penalty for five yards all day.Doubled the Giants on the ground and rushing
and still manage Now I get it. Six was six turnovers, right,
(31:33):
Yeah, that's how that's how you'regoing to lose the ball game. I
guess. I just I'm struggling withthe the lack of consistency. I guess
with the team, Well, they'reconsistent and consistently and consistent. You just
can't. You can't can't turn thefootball over that many times. It's it's
(31:53):
hard to win in the game, you know, if you have two turnovers,
but to have six turnovers, that'sthat's only impossible to the fact that
that we still had an opportunity duringthat last last drive for Sam interception.
You know's that just says a lot. You just can't turn the football out
(32:14):
that many times. I don't carewho you're playing against, what the team's
record is, you're not going tobeat any team like that. And and
then you give up the explosives ondefense. And that's that's the thing where
you're saying, hey, defensively, you love the nine tacks, you love
the pressures and all those types ofthings. But when you give up the
explosive plays, and they especially layin the game you know, say quand
(32:38):
I ended up having some big runsand you're trying to get back into the
ball game and and uh things likethat. But explosive plays and six turnovers
that'll that'll lead to a loss.Yeah, and I you know, like
you said, it was amazing thateven coming down to like the last minute
thirty seconds of the game, thatwe were actually still in the game.
Uh. And it looked to me, what you think. I mean,
(33:00):
it looked to me like Sam wasjust trying to throw it away there and
just kind of threw a duck, you know, on that last interception.
That pressure in his face. Yesee, we had pressure and forced him
a step up in the pocket andand as he was trying to get rid
of the football, he had morepressure. Just couldn't couldn't fully step into
the throw and wasn't able to becausehe ended up having a jump to make
(33:22):
the throw. He's just trying toget it out of bottles, but he
just couldn't get enough on that throw. And it ended up being the final
of the other six turnovers, andthat was that was the pick six.
Butnt Yeah, we at that pointwe had to be prior to that five
turnovers, But you know, justnot enough, not enough flop football.
(33:44):
They consist of football just really beenbeen how we played all season long,
you know, and at least couldn'tanother loss. Yeah, and you know,
it even comes down to like justI think a perfect example of just
kind of the on again, offagain was he and like Joey's slight missing
that extra point. It's like, man, it's hard to be mad at
(34:04):
a guy that can boot one fromsixty one yards out, but then he
misses an extra point and you're like, well that's this season right there.
Yeah, yeah, and yeah, that extra point, you know, it
was playing a factor in the ballgame, especially late because you you know,
you had that at one point thatyou're instead of being down eight,
you end up being down nine atone point in the ball game, then
(34:27):
get twelve points and things like that, so truly made it a two touchdown
game as opposed to just needing Yeah, a touchdown, extra point, a
touchdown, a field goal, andtwo points of versions and things like that.
So giving up a lot of bigplays on defense, is it time
you think to start looking at someplayers on that defense and making some changes
(34:50):
or is that premature? What youhave to do is if it's the same
player consistently making those mistakes, youyou would look at, hey, you
know, making a possible change. But it's not like you can't point out
to say it. It's one playerconsistently making those eras. So you know,
you have to evaluate everything, evaluatewhat you're doing from a coaching standpoint,
(35:15):
evaluate how you're how you're coaching thingsare they they I know the Giants
they met, they a couple ofthose plays. They were what you call
unscouted plays. And that happens inevery game where you go against a team
and they're gonna you go in thereand they're gonna run ninety percent of what
they've what they've always ran going intothat ball game. Then there they'll be
(35:35):
ten percent of some some plays thatyou haven't seen them running. May be
something from another opponent. The uhthe touchdown to Slayton where they had the
bootleg and they linked him out ofthe back on the backside. That hadn't
been a play that they hadn't runbefore. Feel you know, there was
a miscommunication between It looked like aKenno Fuller in the safety and they two
(36:00):
cross the routs and the safety wentwith one of the other the other cross
a round and I think fuller withrespect to him to take his and then
you know that's a Giants. GiveGiants credit. They made a good play.
The the the last pass to thetight end. You know he's leaning
up to the to the line ofscrimmage and he'll boys the the linebacker mail.
(36:22):
They had Royn lead a few times. This time they have boys them.
And is another big game for theGiants. So they had a couple
of couple of unscotted plays, butthat happens in every game and you have
to adjust and and and make thosemake those plays defensively. Yeah, and
I've noticed that, you know alot of these turnovers on the on the
fumbles, they're they're not like outrightuh you know, sloppy ball control.
(36:43):
I mean credit to the defenses whowere punching that ball out, but a
lot of these things, and itseems to be throughout the season have been
like right when they're going to theground, right right, six inches away
from having an elbow down or aknee down and the ball comes out.
Yeah, You're starting to see alot more teams and a lot more players
do that that punch the peanut punchthat was uh, you know, perfected
(37:06):
by Peanut Tillman back with the formerBears defensive defensive back o Kiri k He
punched out the ball, I wantto say twice against this one on the
on the Chris Rodriguez fumble and hepunched it out on Brian Robinson Junior.
We recovered that one, but hepunched it out a couple of time.
He punched it out a couple oftimes. The logans uh fumble made right
(37:32):
just right as he's going down.Defensive back punched that one out and and
pringo. Uh you know it wasa good hit. I mean just a
hit. And as you mentioned,it wasn't like they had the ball loose
from their bodies or things like that. But you have to find a way
to protect the football. It's themost things in the game you got.
(37:53):
You have the entire team's future inyour hand when you're handling that football.
You know what I want to bringback? What was it? Was it
Lawrence Taylor that used to have thestick them or the stuff that was that
was bulletant cough the re remember thegoop all over their hands. And then
(38:14):
finally the league was like all rightenough yeah, the stick up. Yeah,
absolutely, well, I thought, you know, I was watching the
press conference last night with with RonRivera, and I just, you know,
you just kind of feel for himbecause he's up there and he's just
getting drilled from all sides with youjust sometimes ridiculous questions, you know,
and he's just like, look, every time you get an opportunity to win
(38:35):
a football game, you got totry to go out there and win the
football game. Do you think, and you know, I hate to even
bring it up, do you thinkwe're going to see changes changes in terms
of in terms of coaching staff.I don't. I don't see Ron making
any changes with his coach of staff. I don't know. As far as
(38:55):
what the ownership is thinking. Here'sit's a it's a you know, zero
sum business in terms of you haveto you have to win. Are you
winning enough to sicily? And youknow we we haven't won enough. And
it's four and seven right now,and you know it's still you know,
a few games have to be played, six games left to be played,
and you know, maybe they cango and run, but you just never
(39:19):
know. But you know that's somethingthat the ownership will have to look at.
And say, hey, they feellike they have the right person leading
this football teape. That's not mydecision to make it, you know,
that's something they'll they'll a decision they'llhave to make. I am thankful it's
not either one of our decisions tomake, to be honest with you.
So what do you think the keysare to a short week and a good
(39:40):
Dallas team? Yeah, you gotto. You gotta turn the page quickly
from this this off against the NewYork Giants. You you have to just
there's no other way to look atit and quick turn the page and get
ready for a Dallas team that's playingoutstanding football right now. It's gonna be
just Thanksgiving and so a lot ofdistraction that they're going to play on Thanksgiving.
(40:02):
You're you're traveling down there. Yougotta you gotta lock in mentally,
lock in. It's try to getyour body physically ready to play a game
on on the on just four day'srest. And that's that's the part of
the business too. It'll be upfor the coaching staff and the players to
to mentally say, all right,we lost that game against the Giants,
(40:22):
Let's not let them beat us againagainst the Cowboys. Uh, you gotta
you know, you know what you'reup against. As I mentioned, the
Cowboys are playing house standing football. But it's a division rival game. It's
a division rival it's Stanksgiving. Sothe intendency of that ball game should be
you know high, the atmosphere shouldbe great. And you know it wouldn't
(40:45):
surprise me. We went out thereand we went out there, played ahead
of the football there. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Well, you know
on Thanksgiving you always got that turnedDuncan on the side just waiting for you.
That's job mat On that you're dunkin. All Right, London, I
appreciate your time as always. Man. I wish I wish we were talking
(41:07):
about happier things today, but maybenext week. Uh all right, man,
Thanksgiving? All right you two buddy, we'll talk to you soon.
That's a London Fletcher brought to youtoday by Bet three six five. It's
never ordinary. It's eight point fifteenDennis coming up with the sports on tapping
about eight fifteen this morning. We'llplay what have we learned on the show
today for your chance to win sometickets to see Steve By and Joe Satriani
(41:30):
at the Warner Theater. Coming upin April and Florida Man, it's just
around the corner. It's big onehundred, Big Rock Mornings with Jackson on
Washington's Classic Rock. Washington's Classic Rock. It's a big one hundred. It's
time for Florida Man at eight FloridaMan. Anytime there's Florida Man and Walmart
(41:58):
and the same uh head line,I'm all about it. Florida Man steals
an excavator I mean, if thatweren't enough, and crashed it into a
Walmart. This is like two storiescombined. This is a guy that like
(42:22):
stole an excavator, hot wired it. That's a three hundred and fifty thousand
dollars machine, drove it all aroundGainesville, and then drove it through a
chain link fence and crashed it intoa Walmart. He then proceeded to the
(42:45):
loading dock at the walmart, andat this point he jumped out and ran
with a machete into the Walmart Jesus. Before police arrested him, he refused
to put his hands behind his backand resisted when the police showed up.
(43:07):
They eventually apprehended him and churched himwith six pelonies. This story is just
all over the place. Have somany questions. So do I and it's
like I want more, but it'sjust giving me the basics. Here's what
happened. Florida man goes to aconstruction styite hot wires a three hundred and
fifty thousand dollars excavator, drives itall around Gainesville, runs over things,
(43:30):
crashes into things, eventually crashes intoa Walmart, then goes to the loading
dock with a machete. So didhe have the machete with that? I
think he was carrying the machete withhim and when he got out of the
excavator he decided to bring the machetewith him. I don't know what he
was going to do with the loadingdock. Maybe steal some things. I
(43:51):
mean, what's your plan when yousteal an excavator and go to the walmart
with a machete, Probably to stealsomething, I would guess after driving around
Ainesville. Absolutely ridiculous. Yeah,I'm looking for more information here, but
that's about I'll always go about hotwiring and excavation. I don't know.
(44:13):
I don't know how to hot wireanything. That's an old trade. Man.
You get to find some old timerswho know how to hot wire cars.
I had a car stole on onetime and eventually got it back.
They had popped the ignition, soI don't know if that technically is hot
wiring, basically like pop the ignitionout and then use like a screwdriver or
(44:35):
something to start it. Yeah.It was an old Nissan pickup truck.
And I remember I was like lookingout the window of my apartment where I
typically would park it, and Iwas like, and I had a roommate
at the time, and it wasn'tthere. And I was like, hey,
man, what did we do lastnight? Because you know, we
had been out partying the night before, and I thought maybe I left it
(44:55):
somewhere and we got a ride home, you know, which would have been
completely nor normal. Not drive it, leave at parks and where and get
a ride home. He's like,uh, you know, it's all coming
back to me. I'm like,no, we didn't even take my truck
out last night. Went ah crap. It was like Christmas Eve. It
was gone. So then my insurancecompany is like fourteen days. Right at
(45:21):
fourteen days, they consider it losta total loss, and they pay out,
but they give they give the policedepartment, like fourteen days to try
to find it. Cops are tellingme, we're probably never gonna find it.
It's probably been scrapped, you know, and you should probably start looking
for a new car. So it'slike day ten, eleven, twelve,
I find a new car. I'mjust waiting until the next day, which
(45:42):
would be day fourteen, for myinsurance company to call it at a loss
and then I would purchase this thisnew car that was actually pretty excited about
getting. I was excited about thisnew car. They called me on day
fourteen, we found your truck.Son of them where you typically be kind
of happy, I was pissed. You gotta be kidding me. Day fourteen,
(46:05):
you find it. But it allworked out. But they returned it
to me and basically the ignition andthey had popped out the door lock on
the door, so there was justa hole where the door lock used to
be, and they had completely poppedout the ignition. I don't know how
you started after that. They weretelling me it's like a screwdriver or something,
(46:25):
and then just basically took it ona joy ride for like they put
like five hundred miles on it.They took everything out of there that was
worth you know anything, sunglasses, mostly garbage, and put a few dents
in it. But then my insurancecompany thought that those dents were bad enough
to where they're like, well,it's gonna need to be repainted and redone
(46:46):
it. I'm like, yes,So I had the whole thing, like
the dentse fix. I went witha completely different color repainted. It was
like getting a new truck. Sothey turned out to be all right in
the end. But well, yeah, fourteen day fourteen, we found your
truck just left on the side ofthe road in the ghetto. I'm like,
grave, that's fantastic. Coming upDennis Glasgow Sports at about eight point
(47:10):
fifty, and of course we'll playwhat did we learn on the show today,
and we'll give you a chance towin some tickets for Joe Satriani and
Steve Vai. Satriani of course goingto be part of that tour with Jason
Bottom, Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagarwhich is coming to the area next summer
and they're doing a deep dive intoVan Halen songs. Everything I've read about
(47:30):
the tour thus far is it's gonnabe Van Halen. It's gonna be Sammy
out there doing all Van Halen songswith a super group of musicians. I
mean, you know, Satriani isno Eddie van Halen, but he's damn
close. And Jason Bottom he's nothis father, but he's damn close.
And Michael Anthony's a legend, youknow, just an absolute legend, and
(47:52):
Sammy Hagar I love. So I'mlooking forward to that tour. I first
saw that lineup, I was like, oh, yeah, that's gonna be
so good? Was it? Isaw them? I saw Satrianni, Hagar
and Michael Anthony play once before, but I forget who was on drums they
used to go by. Was itchicken Foot? Do you remember they did
(48:13):
a record? Yeah? I thinkit was a chicken Foot And I saw
that show and it was good.It was good man. Yeah, So
looking forward to this, especially thefact that they're just going to do probably
an hour and a half, twohours some Van Halen songs. Love it.
So we'll keep you posting on that, and I'm sure as the day
gets closer we will have some ticketsto give away for that show. It
is eight thirty six, it's abig one hundred Good morning, Washington's classic
(48:37):
grind Big one hundred, your vocalcoach would be proud. Exl there you
go, holding that note forever.Hey, what's up, Dennis? How
are you? Good? Morning guys? Happy misery Monday good what good?
Bad? Bad mood and bad morningbad mood, work bad bad bad everything
bad bad bad, dis bad.We should have shouldn't have come today.
(48:58):
It's bad, that's all bad.I know you watched the game. I
watched crash, you watch the game. It was that a lot of people
commented on social media. That reallywas one of the most ugly Washington football
losses in years. I was horrifiedby the Chicago loss on Thursday Nights that
I know you attended, and theyhad lost sixteen in a row when they
(49:21):
beat us on national television. Butthat last night was a bad look.
Last night was ugly, you knowfor yesterday's game too, even if they
come back. Yeah in there, you know you talked about it with London
about all the statistical categories that welet in, including turnovers, and when
you turn over six times and almostwin a game still, which is incredible.
I know Sam had a bad game. A lot of people had a
(49:43):
bad game yesterday the one thing thatI left away and I had so many
takeaways from this game, guys,is that this was yet another sellout at
FedEx. And God bless the fans. They are onboard with new ownership,
and we should be, but theyalso want a product that's going to be
competitive, hopefully consistent, and winat home, because you're supposed to win
at home at least your favorite andthey were favored by over a touchdown yesterday.
(50:05):
That's a bad Giants team with athird string quarterback. And if I'm
a paying fan and paying those ticketprices and for the beverages and the parking
and my time and all that andjust getting on having a good time on
a great afternoon, I'm pissed.I'm absolutely pissed because that kind of product
on the field is unacceptable, andI wonder what ownership is thinking right now.
(50:29):
You know, you and I weretexting yesterday afternoon after the game saying,
because I wonder if they're going topull the hook on Ron after this
one. Then I thought, youknow what, it's a short week,
it's Dallas, probably not good timingto do that. I know you asked
London about that. He screwed it. Around that, and I realized that,
you know, he's got to becareful about that, and then I
get that, No, I getit, but I'm like any changes,
(50:50):
He's like you, I think youhave to ask a question because people are
now talking about that. And listen, this has no reflection about how we
feel as run as a person, professional or privately. He's a great guy,
but right now the team is reallyin in sorts. It's not doing
well. They're inconsistent, and thathome game like that, like the like
(51:10):
the Buffalo game, like the Chicagogame, all sellouts and then this one.
It's just a bad look for thefans. So I know ownership's talking
about they have to decide optically nowif they keep on losing, do we
just you know, stringing out therest of the season and then make our
changes, or do we do itsooner than later, because we have to
let the fans know that we docare and we are hearing you. So
(51:32):
his ownership, I don't know whatthey're gonna do, but listen, we
played Dallas on Thursday, and wecould get our clocks cleaned on that day.
Well, you know, London hada good point. It's like I
wouldn't be surprised if they go outthere and play really well. Right way
we played against Look the good teams. We've been playing well. Look at
Philadelphia twice this year exactly. Iget it. You know what. I
(51:52):
rewatched highlights from both those games againstPhilly yesterday before the one o'clock game and
was like, man, they playedreally really well. Yeah, Marrious came
up with, you know, inexecution and the like, Wow, I
don't understand the incontent. By theway, when you watch Philly tonight on
(52:13):
Monday Night Football with the Chiefs onESPN, you're seeing the cream of the
crop tonight, and then we playedthat well against some of the great teams
out there. It is puzzling, guys why it's happening. So I think
that comes down to coaching. AndI'm not just talking about Ron. I'm
talking about all the coaches prepping theirplayers for every game to make sure you're
playing well against the bad teams andthe good teams. And they're not doing
that. They're just not doing that. The players are certainly culpable and responsible,
(52:37):
but I'm just telling you it comesdown to coaching of getting the players
prepped and ready to go for eachand every game. I feel like with
the numbers they put up yesterday andthen with the six turnovers, yeah,
and to still not I mean,I know, to still not be able
to beat the Giants quarterback to oneof the worst teams in the and by
(53:00):
the way, Wood sack of eightnine times. It's just terrible. Yeah,
terrible. So I you know, when you look, when you look
at those numbers, except for theturnovers, which are gaudy and six which
is just reprehensible, we should havebeaten them badly by ten, fourteen points
easily. Oh yeah, and wealmost still won the game. So and
game. You know, Sam's goingto want that one back, that that
(53:22):
last play that he threw a badpicture he did the interception, he was
trying to dump that away. Hewas trying to throw it away. I'll
tell you what. You know,Sam had a bad day yesterday, but
he is not to blame. He'sjust fine. I consider this still his
rookie season. This is only atwelve game as a pro played one last
year versus Dallas. We all knowabout that. But he's going to make
(53:42):
mistakes and he's going to have agame like that. But overall, Sam
hal has been exemplary this year andhe's been ascending. Now knowing him,
he'll wash this away and hopefully havea good showing versus Dallas. But this
is a team issue. This issystemic where there's something wrong that we can't
get up for the bad teams. We get up for the good teams.
And that's really the issue. Notto mention the defense has let us down
(54:05):
just about every single game. Yeah, so it's a shame too, because
I these fans are thirsty for winter, they're thirsty for new ownership and the
new stadium and all those school thingswill come down the road. But watching
that yesterday afternoon is just it's aposter child for what not to do in
the NFL. Folks. Yeah,it was. It was a horror show
(54:25):
that takes us. And they saidthey don't have hot water. Have you
talked about that yet today earlier? And I, uh, hot water is
for closers, Yeah, I getshowers. I texted you that this is
just a chef's kiss to the afternoonthat there's no water for the players to
(54:46):
shower with afterwards because it got brokenand everybody's got to do their pressers,
you know, and they're nice clothesand they haven't showered that. I'm saying
this is just beautiful. Well, maybe that's place a little bit in to
it too, Like you know, when you're dump and when you're playing at
a dump everything, I know that'snot a good fin I mean, you
(55:07):
know, it's just not Let's startbuilding a new one today. Let's get
it going. I want to Yeah, let's get it going. I mean
all right, and now Dallas gameThursday four thirty, kickoff here in Big
one hundred and uh, well,we'll see, I guess I I hope
they show up. I want theseguys to win. I just don't know
what's gonna happen at this point. But Dallas is a very good football team.
(55:29):
They've been playing really well lately.I mean, it could be a
blood letting. Oh yeah, andif it is, there probably will be
changes. Unless ownership is just goingto say, you know what, we're
gonna tough it out until the endof the year. I don't know what
to do at that point. Therecomes a point in time where it's like
you start just thinking about the draft, and then what do you do.
You don't just throw in the talentand go WHOA, we don't care you
still got to try to win games. The players still want to win games.
I guess. I guess there's awhole thing with the ownership about do
(55:52):
we need to show the fans thatwe do care by doing something, or
do we just wait it out andthen we make the changes that we were
going to any ways, after wedecided we were going to buy the team,
because you know, when you spendsix billion dollars, you know as
well as I do, guys youwant your own guys. Yeah, you
want your own people in there. And I understand all that. And it
doesn't mean that Ron and the coachesare bad people. This happened to him
(56:14):
in Carolina. Yep. He wasa pretty good coach there. He went
to the Super Bowl once with CamNewton, but they had an ownership change.
He had one year and he wasgone. Yeah. Look, sometimes
coach moving on is the best thingthat ever happened to them, You know
what I'm saying. They find theright fit somewhere. I think of like
Andy Reid, you know who gotfired in Philly, and it was like,
(56:37):
you know, Andy was always agood coach, but he could never
win the big one, right. It was that was his downfall, he
could never win the big one. Then look what happened. Yeah, goes
to Casey and it's right exactly.Yeah, the world. No, that's
a great example. You know.Last thought from me on this the one
thing I wanted to see yesterday, and you actually addressed this with Ron on
his show on Tuesday with overtime youand Julie about him showing anger at times.
(57:00):
Now, he's a pretty low keyguy in the sidelines, and it's
all by design. And he toldhe told you guys that he gets mad
when I need to. But Iwatched him in the press conference yesterday and
I'm sure, I'm sure he wasscheming, but he was really low key.
I would have had zero problem withhim absolutely losing his you know what,
saying that was unacceptable. I apologizeto the fans, that's on me
(57:22):
and just go completely snake and say, you know what. It would have
made me feel just a little bitbetter that he was so pissed off that
he had to let it out becausethe San Diego Chargers coach did it yesterday
and he's he's on the line tobe fired too. But I guess I
want to see more emotion from Ron. But I'm sure he was him though.
I think that's his his you know, he's he's You're probably right.
(57:43):
I just wanted to see him absolutelyvisibly angry about that he did. Yeah,
he did. He's composed. Listen. He's been in pro sports a
very long time and I get it. And maybe he didn't think he was
acceptable or prudent to do it atthat time, to be a pro.
But I just I wanted I wanteda little upset in him, and I
want a little bit more. Butuh, and listen, the pressure is
(58:06):
on too. You know. Yousaw it on Tuesday. He had no
sleep from the Seattle game. Andthe pressure is on him right now and
he knows it. It's it's arough business out there. So you want
me to get angry, I'll justget angry. You want me to do
you want me to talk like Iwas talking before we turn the mics on.
Yeah, Well, folks, behindthe scenes, it's ugly in the
show. You gotta be careful.Gotta be careful, all right, you
(58:30):
guys, try and have a goodmisery Monday. Hey, thanks, I
have a good one, all right, Thanks, see you tomorrow. All
right, So we gotta take abreak here, but we have commercial free
