(00:03):
In its earliest days, the majorfunction of radio was news going on,
here beautiful, let everybody go.Why don't you put on a show and
charge it mission? Okay, soI would say something with music, I'm

(00:27):
comedy, No, you're caauld. It will be a sl for everyone who
loves music and murder. Come on, Chap, we gotta take show to
dude, showtime. Are you ready? I'm ready, ready, ready,
job and good morning, Happy Thursday, one day closer to the weekend.

(00:49):
That's all that really matters, isn'tit. Six oh nine is Big Rock
Morning's Jackson here and boy, youcan't even it's gonna see with all these
carjackings. I don't know if youheard the one. It was on the
news this morning. Somebody tried tocarjack an FBI agent, just like first
it was that secret service car, although they tried to bust into that and

(01:10):
take off in it when nobody wasin it. But I think this one
with the FBI agent came up triedto car jack him. I didn't read
the rest of the story. Ijust saw that headline was like, oh
my god, there's so many rightnow, like crazy, and it's it's
been going on for the past coupleof years, but it's getting more and
more and more. Yeah, andit's it seems to be getting worse everywhere.

(01:32):
Yeah, well I told you Isaw two carjackers walking. Oh yeah,
yeah, yeah, I know therewere carjackers. Yeah it could be.
Yeah, I can judge them frommy car. Well, now you
can't even walk down the street wearinga goose jacket. It's there's been there's

(01:53):
been three, I think three tofour over the last two days now where
people are coming up and stealing expensivejackets off with people. Yeah. I
just heard it this morning. Itwas over the last couple of days.
What's what's the really like thousand dollarsfor a jacket's Canada goose jacket? Yeah,

(02:13):
super pricey, right, and there'sanother one that's really really pricey.
Anyway they've been targeting. It remindsme of you go way back to like
the nineties when kids were getting jackedfor their Jordans. You know, they'd
get hit up on the street andbeat up and they'd steal their shoes.
Is this all part of that samering? Like is it the same m
Like the kids, like younger kids, like like twelve to fifteen, they

(02:37):
didn't say how old these kids were, but but I know, you know
they're stealing this stuff to resell it. Yeah, yes, jack a thousand
dollars goose jacket off somebody on thestreet. One of them was in DuPont
Circle. Yeah. I mean it'shappening like all over the city and like
it's it's moving into the to themuch nicer areas. I heard a girl

(02:58):
on the news this morning, oneof them that got away. They didn't
get her jacket. She said shewas walking down the street and she heard
as a bunch of teenage girls onthis one and she said, oh,
she heard them say, oh,look she's wearing a goose and she's like,
oh. At first she just thoughtit was somebody complimenting her. And
she's like, next thing, youknow, they were they had hands on
her, were trying to steal herjackets. She was able to get away,

(03:21):
she ran and they didn't get herjacket. It was a group of
teenage girls that just robbed the CVSand the Palisades a couple of days ago.
Because it was like remember the wewere talking about this last month.
Yeah, the shoplifting rings when theywill go in that's why target and a
lot of the other stores in youknow, in DC, have stuff like
lockdown toilet paper and deodoran that it'slockedwn because they can't stop them from shoplifting.

(03:46):
So that's what was happening. Soit was a big group that went
into that CVS. This was Ithink it was over the weekend. Yeah,
it's I set off one of thosealarms one time trying to grab deodorant.
I lifted the thing up and I'mlike, whoa, I just I'm
trying to buy some deodorant. Yeah, there's a Lulu Lemon. You know.

(04:08):
The thing is, it's like Iread an article yesterday where it's not
a shoplifting nationwide is actually down. It's not up. It's just we're seeing
a lot more in the news. But the trend is now is that people
have realized the stores that have thepolicy where it's like, yep, we
don't interfere, the just will callthe cops, but you can basically come
in and grab whatever you want andleave, and of course you're gonna get

(04:29):
away with it if you can walkinto a Nike store and grab, you
know, six pair of shoes andthey're like, eh, we don't interfere
and then leave. You know,it's praying night. Of course people are
gonna do it. They know they'regonna get away with it. Toilet paper
rings, you know, it wasreal. So Lulu Lemon, the one
by my house in Philadelphia, rightjust got jacked again again. They just

(04:55):
came in group, group of teenagerscame in and they know the policy there
is because if you remember years ago, those I think it was last year,
those two Lulu Lemon employees got firedfor trying to interfere, for trying
to stop shoplifters, and Lulum waslike, no, we have a policy
says do not interfere. They brokethe rules, like they lost their job
trying to save your stop. Now, that was when I learned that that

(05:17):
was the reason that they have theYeah, the toiletryes locked up that particular
case. Yeah, so they gothit again and I saw the aftermath of
I just have a bundred pictures ofstuff laying on the ground all throughout the
store and out into the street. But I just walk in, grabbed the
stuff and employees just step back andwatch. They have to what are you

(05:39):
gonna do? I don't know.I think that's a I get it.
I think it's a stupid rule.Yeah, I get it. And it's
you know, them locking stuff up. It's like you don't realize that the
you know, it's not what youwould suspect when it comes to the most
shoplifted items. It's stuff like babyformula, deodorant, razors. I mean
it's crazy, Like any any story, you walk into all the stuff you

(06:00):
see locked up, that's because it'sshoplifted left and right. Yeah, and
you go really, but baby formulawas a big one for a while.
Man, it was a big one, especially during that shortage. What was
that year ago? Two years ago? Is it post right after COVID when
they had the big baby formula shortage. There's something they had some one of

(06:21):
our big factories got something contaminated andthen there was this huge shortage. Yeah,
they still keep the baby formula likeright there in the glass cabinet at
the front of the store, nextto the Marboro Ars. Yeah, it's
nuts, dud. But yeah, when I heard the jacket story this morning,
it just took me back to whenkids were getting checked for their shoes
and I'm like, this is ridiculous. And then and the dogs, the

(06:43):
dogs, Yeah, dogs that's anotherone. Now on, well did you
hear how the carjacking? This wasa few weeks ago. This was this
is in northwest on fox Hall nearfox Hall and where was it? Somewhere
on fox Hall Way? It was. It was a nice car. It
was like it was like a BMWand there was a Lexis that came out

(07:04):
behind it. And I could begetting these in reverse order, it doesn't
matter. But two nice cars. And then the one bumped the other.
And so when the guy driving theBMW got out to exchange insurance, they
jacked him. So he's all ascam and so that's another way of doing
it. So it's getting bolder andbolder. This uh and and you know

(07:25):
we were talking about the dogs. It's these French bulldogs that are you know,
worth a ton of money. Therewas another one stolen Fairfax County.
This time somebody broke into the homeand tried to steal three dogs, but
they only got away with one,a French bulldog named Queen. And uh,
yeah, it looks like burglar enteredthe home, tried to take all

(07:47):
three dogs, but was only successfullyable to take Queen, the French bulldog,
and they got it all on surveillancevideo. Was that a kidnapping or
arrest? That's good. Here's thething, man, that's got to be
a ring. I mean, youknow, the whole French bulldog thing.
Come on, they're taking that.I want to know where they're going though.
Where are they selling them? It'snot like they're putting them up on
eBay. The French bulldog two hundreddollars. Those things were expensive. I

(08:13):
think they're over a grand I think, right, yeah, yeah. My
wife loves the French bulldog. She'salways wanted one, but but she's a
big adopt don't shop. She refusesto, uh, you know, buy
a dog because of all the puppyfarms. Well, I'll just say that
if anybody is thinking about starting acat ring, I'll leave my keys under

(08:33):
the mountain to start a cat ring. There just feral cats all over the
place. Man, Did you eversee the video that it's hilarious floating around
for a little while. A fewmonths ago, a guy pulled over to
the side of the road because hesaw a kitten on the side of the
road and he's like, oh,you know, he picks it up,
and once he picks it up,they start coming out of the out of

(08:54):
the out of the woods and outof the grass, and like two or
three come out and he's like,oh my god, there's more. It
must be a letter. And thenthey just keep coming. There was like
twenty of them. They come outand he's surrounded by kittens and it's like,
Uh, we're gonna do with allthese? It is six seventeen.
Good morning. We got things Iknow coming up in just a bit here.

(09:15):
Plus, we're gonna have some ticketsagain today for the Commander's Dolphins game
coming up this weekend, FedEx FieldNew Letter for the big Word of the
Week that hits you at seven thirtyish this morning, and Hoody and the
Blowfish tickets up for grabs at theend of the week tomorrow when we complete
the Word. Plus, we're gonnahave another VIP table to give away for
overtime live of Coach Ryan Rivera, which is gonna take place Tuesday at DC

(09:37):
Prime Stakes and Lobsters post home gameagainst the Dolphins. Only only the team
with I think like the most passingyards and that's they're good. They're good.
I'm not looking forward to that.I'm gonna go to that game,
but I'm not looking. I'm,you know, praying for a miracle.
Yes, pretty much what it comesdown to. I heard some on sports

(10:00):
radio yesterday basically gone, yeah, they're gonna lose every game for the rest
of the season. I'm like, wow, dude, not even a maybe.
And it's like no, Dallas, forty nine Ers, Rams Miami and
he's like, ye know, they'regonna lose out. Yeah, yeah,
they're gonna lose them all. Givethem a little face, man, it's
the NFL. These are professionals. They can't step up and play on any

(10:22):
given day. You never know. All Right, we got to take a
break here, but we're back toit in just a few It is Big
one hundred, Good Morning, JacksonRocks on Big one hundred, Washington's Classic
Rock, Washington's Classic Rockets Big onehundred, There's Queen Somebody to love.
Hey, little PSA for you.Oh, they's been floating around for a
couple of days here. If youhaven't heard about it yet, living under

(10:43):
a rock. But Gmail is aboutto purge the system. Basically, if
you have an old Gmail account,I had one of these. I did
it to just log into it.If you've got an old Gmail account,
that you haven't used in a while. Today maybe the last chance to save
its. Starting tomorrow, Google we'llstart to leading unused accounts that have been
inactive for more than two years. If you think about it, if you've

(11:05):
had an account inactive for over twoyears, do you really need it.
I'm kind of excited about this becausemy first Gmail account, Yeah, was
crash young at Gmail, and atsome point I was using other email addresses.
This was early Yeah Google days, and so I forgot my password and

(11:26):
whatever the alternate email was that Iused to save it, so I can
never get back into it. Andso I still can't get into it,
never seen anybody else use it,So they purge that maybe that'd be back
on the market. Ye, it'spossible, possible. I had mine connected
to a couple things, and Iwas like, I just probably saved that
just in case to where I didn'tnecessarily need the email, you know,

(11:50):
to check email. I just neededit because it was connected to you know,
a subscription or something. But allthe old emails will be deleted.
Same goes for any photos in GoogleDocs. That's the biggie. Like,
if you've got an old account that'sgot a bunch of photos or Google docs
in it. They're going to gobye bye two. They announced it in
May and said for security reasons,if an account hasn't been used in years,

(12:11):
it's more than likely already compromised. They say. Most abandoned accounts they
use old passwords, hackers have alreadystolen them by now. And if you
don't use the account, they've they'veprobably already gone through it and found all
your stuff that's in there. Anyway, Hackers suck. So there you go,
a little PSA for you. Youmight have a little longer than today.

(12:35):
They're starting with the accounts that wereset up and never used, and
then they'll move on to the restthat haven't been opened for a couple of
years. But you got anything youwant to save, you better jump on
that. Things I know coming uphere in just a bit command there's tickets
to give away for the Dolphins gamethis weekend, a new letter of the
day for the big word of theweek. We're going to give you a

(12:56):
chance to win Hoody tickets tomorrow. So we got a new letter for you
coming up about seven thirty. Iam finally warming up. It's actually warmer
in this building, which is anoddity than it is in my apartment right
now, because my heat went outat some point yesterday. Did you report
it yet? I did? Idid. I went down. I got

(13:16):
the old It's weird because it's intermittent, and you know how it is,
especially in stuff like you know, radio, when you have technical equipment,
when you have all this equipment andthen you know something's not working, and
then the minute you call an engineerand they come and look at it,
it works and you're like, no, no, no, it's gonna stop
again. Well call me when itdoes, like your cough button. Yeah

(13:37):
exactly. So yeah, so itwas like it. It basically will not
work for several hours, get reallyreally cold, and then it will kick
on, but it kind of blowslike lukewarm air, so it'll heat it
up to like maybe sixty eight, but it'll just keep running and running and
running and running because it's trying toheat it up higher. And then eventually

(13:58):
I must freeze up or something andit'll shut off and then the unit will
say defrost or something. I don'tknow. Did they come in and look
at it? They did. Theycame in. He changed a bunch of
settings on the thermostat He used oneof those lasers up by the vent there
and said, yeah, it's blowingwarm air. But I looked at it
as he was doing it, andit said it was blowing at sixty eight.

(14:18):
I'm like, dude, sixty eightis not warm air. No,
that's that's what I set my ACon you. What are you talking about?
And he's like, let it,let it go for a while.
If that, you know, ifthat doesn't work, calls back, all
right, cool, let me seeif these changes. So it worked for
like ten minutes and the heat wascoming in. It was heating up.

(14:39):
I was like, all right, thank god he fixed it. And then
it stopped so started dropping drastically. The temperature has been cold man. And
so I rather than submit like anotherticket, I actually went down to the
office and was like, hey, they just came and looked at this and
it's already quit working again. Andthey were like, okay, well we'll
drop by a space heater or something, and you know, if they can't

(15:01):
get to it today, at leastyou'll have that. I'm like, yeah,
perfect, sounds good. They nevercame. They never came, got
cold last night, woke up thismorning. I was like, it's freezing,
so I don't know. Hopefully they'llcome by and do something to it
today. We'll see what happens.Yeah, let's take a break here,

(15:22):
and when we by the way,it's gonna warm up a little bit.
This little cold snap is just aboutover. Oh yeah, I saw that
it was gonna be like in themid sixties on it. Yeah, it's
I think yesterday we were lucky toget to forty degrees. But it's gonna
warm up today and it's gonna keepgetting a little bit warmer, so we'll
go back to like normal temperatures, not this twenty degrees crap. All right,
six forty, Good morning, it'sbig one hundred. Washington's Classic rock

(15:43):
is big one hundred and one wayor another. It's time for things I
know that you don't that I learnedthis morning. So this is kind of
interesting. They finally, you know, when your mother used to say,
you know where wear a coat, you'll catch a cold, she was actually
right, she was she was Turnsout scientists have determined why we get more

(16:11):
colds in the winter, and itdoes have to do with the cold.
They say it's your nose. IsWe talked about this with the netty pots.
Your nose is the main entry pointfor viruses, and that's where they
multiply. As it turns cold out, it will kill the immune cells that
are in there to fight them off. When a virus gets into your nose,
billions of immune cells will start scramblingand attacking it. But the study

(16:33):
found that it will happen less andless in the winter the colder the weather
gets. They exposed forty no.They exposed hundreds of people to forty degree
air for fifteen minutes and found thatdropping the temperature inside their nose to just
forty degrees killed almost half of theirvirus fighting immune cells. So the immunity

(16:59):
dropped and the virus had an easiertime replicating. How about that? So
indeed you are more likely to getsick when you're cold? Something almost full
of crap at go outside with whathair? You're going to catch a cold?
Shut up, mom, you don'tget colds away. She was right.
Do you know your brain is twopercent of your weight, but it

(17:19):
uses twenty percent of your energy. That means on an average day, you
use three hundred and twenty calories justto think I used about five. Yeah,
I'm not gonna argue with it.Thousand Island dressing is called American sauce
in Germany. That's cool. Yougo to Germany getting the side of American

(17:41):
sauce. The University of Oregon's Duckmascot is actually based off Donald Duck,
and it's legal thanks to a speciallicense agreement the school has with Disney that
goes all the way back to thenineteen forties. I did not know that.
Do you know? Mount Wrist isactually pronounced Everest Everest. It's named

(18:04):
after Sir George Everest, a surveyorfrom Wales, and that's actually how he
pronounced his last name, Everest.Nobody's changing that, dude, it's Everest.
I've learned a lot this morning.Oh you you're about to learn some
more. Clock's run clockwise. Doyou know why? That's the sun?
Yep, direction of the direction.Shadows move around the sun dial. There

(18:27):
goes my five calories. That's atleast in the northern Heman's hemisphere. But
that's where clocks were developed. Theterm hail Mary. You know where that
comes from? Nope. Roger Staubach, who despite playing for the Dallas Cowboys,
was a pretty legendary player you justhad that one strike against him.
In nineteen seventy five, he threwa fifty yard touchdown pass to win a

(18:51):
playoff game for Dallas over the Vikings, and in the locker room he said,
I don't know. I guess you'djust call it a hail Mary.
You throw it up in prey andit stuck. And finally, the person
who invented and patented the clasp ona braw, Mark Twain, who knew?

(19:15):
And why why Mark Twain? Whythere you go those things? I
know? It is six point fiftyseven coming up new letter for a big
word of the week at about seventhirty this morning. That's gonna be your
chance at hooting tickets a little bitlater this morning, Commanders Dolphins tickets to
give away. We'll clean you inon how you can win those, and
just a bit plus a VIP tablefor four to join us for over Top

(19:37):
Live with Coach Roy Rivera that's comingup Tuesday at DC Prime Stakes and Lobsters.
We'll talk more about that in justa bit as well. Sit tight.
It's a big one hundred, Washington'sClassic Rock. It's big one hundred
and there's people are strands, there'sthe doors, so Big Rock Mornings,
Jackson here in good morning to you. I gotta find a way to get
on this ice to see it.Put a skating rink on the south lawn

(20:00):
of the White House. I sawthat Joe Biden did something yesterday, extended
her holiday theme of magic wand toenjoy to the White House grounds with an
ice rink, like the first timein forty years. They put an ice
rink out there, and I waslike, oh, this is kind of
cool. And they had, youknow, they had some sort of opening.
They had you know, former Olympicgold medalists out there, and they

(20:21):
had a comic strip Snoopy Dog onice skates. It's kind of cool.
And I was like, all right, what's the deal here. It's fifty
by seventy foot. It'll operate allthroughout the month of December. But they
did not release any days or hoursyet. And it's open to DC area
school children, children from families withservice members. Oh well, my dad

(20:42):
was in the military. Does thatcount? Should Yeah? I mean I
am a child of a family withservice members. Frontline workers, first responders,
and teachers will all be invited toskate. So you got to be
a DC school kid, Okay,to be from a military family, got
to be a frontline worker, firstresponder, or a teacher. If you

(21:04):
want to use a skating rink, can anybody else use it? Or is
it just that's what it says here? So how do you? But then
again, there's no hours or daysof operation yet. Well, and I'm
guessing you'd have to book to do. So what what does regular schools do
in DC? Like like to getinto the summer camps, they will open
it at a specific time, likelike, for example, say they'll open

(21:26):
it December first at noon, rightat that time. Then you go on
to the website and then you registerand it's the it's first come, first
serve. Whoever gets in, thenyou get a spot in the camp.
That's how the camps work. I'mguessing that that's how this ice drink's gonna
work. Mmm. I suppose it'swhatever Jill Biden decides it's gonna be.

(21:47):
Well, there could be that.I'm just gonna sit here and wait for
my invite Jill Jill going all right, trying to figure out what ways how
I can get on the ice there. Just I just want to skate it.
I just want to skate it forlike five minutes. Yeah, I
just hop the fence on the southlode of the White House. That's that's
a smart movie. But you setup an ice rae you're asking for let

(22:07):
me hop a fence at the WhiteHouse. That's brilliant ice skate. That's
the same thing as putting that bigred button over there and saying don't touch
it. No. I think it'sa little worse. Actually, if you're
wondering what to get to your significantother or maybe even your kids or any
family member trying to determine what toget him for Christmas. There's a recent

(22:32):
survey and uh, I have toagree with this. I think this is
cool. Seventy seven percent of Americansseventy seven percent would rather receive experiences over
physical gifts. Uh. And thatcan mean anything from like surprise travel if

(22:52):
you you want to spend some money, or can mean you know, skiing,
skating on the White House Sky's skatingon the White House lawn, score
some tickets there, a food tour, a cooking class, vouchers for a
wine or beer tasting. My wifeactually did that one time, did a
wine tasting somewhere and it was acool gift. Man. I had a

(23:14):
lot of fun trip to a museum. Point being is that rather than just
giving them a gift that they're gonnaunrap and go, oh cool blender,
thanks, any sort of experience. That's a significant number. Seventy seven percent
of Americans say they prefer that overphysical gifts. So just something to kick
around, tickets to a concert, tickets to a football game. You can

(23:40):
even go on the cheap, youknow, do you know an activity like
hiking, camping. But this's gotmy brain spinning. Now I'm sitting here
thinking of what to do for thefamily, and buy buy movie tickets.
There's a ticket to go see WishEnjoy. It's about creating the memory because

(24:02):
you do it and you create thememory for for somebody, and that's something
that they keep. I've been doingthis for a long time that I've always
been a big fan of the experience. Yeah. Yeah, We've actually done
quite a few of these type ofthings in my family throughout the years.
But as I get older, justgive me the blender, give someone I

(24:23):
can use if I want to goski car if I want to go skiing,
or to a concert or to abeer tasting, I'll go I'll do
it myself. You ever noticed thatas you get older? Like it is?
It is true. It's the youknow, what do you buy for
someone who has everything? It's becausepeople reach a certain age they're like,
I don't really need anything, andhonestly there's nothing that I really want.

(24:45):
So those people are difficult to shopfor. That everybody on my list getting
Aztec death whistles. Well, nowsee that's a great gift. That's not
a bad thing. I mean becauseit'll be a surprise. It'll be like,
oh my god, what is this? And then you explain it and
they're like, okay, cool, and then they open it and try it
and they're like, oh my god, this is cool. The greatest thing
ever. What a great idea.We can clue you in on it as

(25:07):
as tech death Whistle. Just goto Amazon dot com type in as tech
death whistle. Thank us for itlater. All right, all right,
coming up here your letter of theday for the big word of the week.
And I've got a little uh ifyou didn't get in on a Black
Friday deal or a Cyber Monday dealand you're trying to save a few bucks,

(25:27):
I got a little trick that Iread about and then tried, and
I've tried it twice now. Itworked both times. If you want to
save money on gifts, I do. If you want to save money on
anything really, it could just besomething for yourself. It works, and
it's like sometimes it's an additional tenpercent, sometimes it's free shipping. I've

(25:48):
seen it be as high as liketwenty percent. Okay, so I'm gonna
teach you how to save some money. Coming up here in a few minutes.
It's a big one hundred. Stickaround Washington's classic rock. It's a
big one hundred. Can just checkand see if there's a dial tone,
make sure the phones are working. And I'm really surprised that Jill Biden has
not called to the ice skating rinkkit. I can't figure that out.

(26:11):
That's huh huh. Hey, youwant to save a few bucks on Christmas
shopping? I did try this.I read about it at the end of
last week and I was like,Oh, what the hell's worth a try?
Right, So there's a couple ofthings I went to buy and I
tried this little trick and then waitedand sure enough, dude, it works,

(26:33):
and a lot of you might alreadyknow about this, but you basically
leave things in your cart. Soyou want to buy something right online,
you go, you go through thewhole process, put it in your cart,
and then quit, close it out, leave it like so, you've
put in your information, you've putin your email, you've done everything except
hit pay right, everything except submitorder, and then just close out.

(26:56):
Watch wait about a day. Sometimes too, you'll get an email,
we see you left something behind inyour cart. Finish this order and get
ten percent off. I got onethat was twenty percent off, and I
got one that was free shipping. If you finish this order, we'll cover
your shipping. If you finish thisorder, take an additional twenty percent off
with this code. And I'm like, oh, this is sweet. So

(27:19):
now I'm just gonna try it oneverything. I mean, if you're not
in a rush to get something,it's pretty easy shopping hack. And again,
if you missed out on Black Fridayor Cyber Monday, which went into
the billions, dude, there's alot of money spins on. You know,
people keep bitching about the economy rightright, and I get it,
but you know, because I guessperception is reality. I don't know,

(27:44):
but you know, it's like gasprices have gone down for like sixty straight
days in a row, busted allsorts of records for Black Friday and Cyber
Monday, and then people like economysucks. I'm like, what, now,
inflation does suck? Right, We'vebeen talking about that. I told
her I went through like a drivethrough because I so rarely do fast food.
Did I tell the story on there? Yeah, when I went to

(28:06):
get the junior bacon cheeseburger or whateverit was at Wendy's because I used to
get them way back in the dayit was like eight bucks. Well,
they were always like ninety nine cents. And I think I had like a
dollar in my car and I wasstarving, and I drove by Wendy's and
I love Wendy's, and I waslike, all right, pull in and
you know, go up to pay, and I got my dollar and she's
like three ninety nine. I'm likefor a junior bakup like an old man

(28:29):
for a junior bacup cheeseburger, Dador a dollar. Yeah, But it's
only recently that I started paying attentionto how much I I've always just been
one of those like I gotta haveit, So I don't care. I
mean, it's me bitching about. It's not going to do any good.
I still need gas, I stillneed milk, I still need you know.
But I've started paying attention how muchthings costs out and I'm like,
holy crap, I paid six bucksfor a bag of pop quarters yesterday.

(28:53):
Really yeah, because I was.I was desperate, like because they they
were out at the they were outof at Wagman's, whom sells them at
a good price. And so I'mlike, well, I'm desperate. Let
me just say it as far crazy. And I find myself doing something I've
never done before. Now. Mywife is really good, and I feel
like most women are. They're smarterthan us, right, they are clearly

(29:15):
way smarter than men. But mywife is good at like saving money and
shopping around. If she wants something, she'll she'll find the cheapest price.
Right me, I just go,I want it. There it is,
buy it, push a button,it's mine. Yeah, but you just
paid twice what it was over here. Oh I don't care. I got
it an hour earlier. But nowI find myself like actually shopping around a

(29:37):
little bit and going you know what, man, I gotta I'm sure this
place down the street probably sells ata dollar cheaper. I should go there,
whereas I never used to do that. Anyway, when you're doing the
shopping online thing, add it toyour cart, leave it there for a
day or two and see what happensand let me know, because I'm telling
you it worked for me for acouple times. She got to just make
sure they have your email, right, So go as far as putting your

(29:59):
email again, I just go asfar as, like, you know,
the last button, and I justdon't submit the order, and they see
you almost bought something, and withina couple of days they'll send you a
free shipping or a certain percentage off. And it's a good way to save
a few dollars. And again,if you're not in a rush, you
know it's worth a try. I'mthe kind of guy who'll drive around to
three different stores to try to savefifty cents really on something. But you

(30:23):
know I will, at the dropof a hat, push a button and
spend forty bucks on an Aztec deathwhistle. Right right, Yeah, No,
I don't. I don't try todo the saving these things. There's
a gas station by my house.I think I talked about this before,
and it's because I like the peoplethat work there and they're cool, and
it was close to my house, and you know, it just became my
regular go to stop and it's agas station, so that's where I always

(30:45):
got gas. And it wasn't untillike maybe two three years in that I
was like, well, they're likeforty cents higher than everyone else on this
street. Why am I doing this? And I still do it because I'm
like, I'm loyal. I'm loyalto this guy that no one's sus guessed
and I like him more expensive though, for sure. It is time to
give you your letter for the bigword of the week. Shall we do

(31:07):
that? Yeah? The big wordof the week on Big one hundred two
day's letter is the letter E.The letter E is an everest, which
is actually titterest everest. The letterE is your letter for today. By
tomorrow at this time we will havea word and that'll be good for Hoodie

(31:29):
and the Blowfish. Tickets for theshow Chiffy Lube Live with Live Nation that's
the seventeenth of August coming up nextsummer. So again, the letter E
and tomorrow morning will complete the word. Okay, sit tight. Coming up
later this morning, we're gonna playwhat did we learn on the show today
again. This will be your chanceto win Commander's Dolphins tickets for the game
this weekend. Weather keeps changing onthat, man, it looked like it

(31:52):
was going to be, you know, mild and fairly decent. Look this
morning, it looks like it's goingto rain. That's for Sunday. Yeah,
what is this show now? Itdoesn't uh, it didn't say it
was gonna be a heavy range, just a kind of light rain in the
afternoon, which is tolerable, butyou know it is. Man. It's
like you, if you don't haveto sit in the rain to watch a

(32:13):
game, you'd rather not. I'mgetting fifty nine in raining. Yeah,
there you go. So but thatcould change. We'll see, we'll see.
But we got your tickets and theycould be yours. All you have
to do just keep listening. We'llget to that coming up in just a
bit. Seven forty two. It'sBig one hundred, Washington's Classic Crocket's Big
one hundred won't back down. It'sTom Petty. I was just watching a
tour of Bradley Beal's mansion in Bethesda. Is that's up for sale for ten

(32:37):
million bucks? Yeah, isn't thatcrazy? You ever watch those things where
you watch him to a tour ofsome like mansions. It's like he's got
two basketball courts in a basement.Below the basement which is like below the
game room, it's like a fourcar garage, is like nine bathrooms.
I mean, just looking at thethe pictures, it's like, this is

(33:00):
sick. What do you do attwo basketball courts? Well, if you're
an NBA player, I could see, you know, he put in authentic
hardwood NBA hardwood floor so he'd getthat real bounce that he wanted two of
them. He doesn't, they saytoo. But when I'm looking at it,
it's just like one big room. It's just the size of two courts.

(33:21):
But it is just disgusting. AndI was telling you, Uh,
in Philly, Jason Kelsey right livedh right down the street from me in
a regular house in a regular neighborhood. His wife and kids, and dude,
you would never know that he's aloaded NFL player, never know,

(33:43):
just a local. You'll see himat the bars, the hardware store.
It's crazy. And the fact thatlike he doesn't even upgradest house, like
he's living in just like you know, regular like two three thousand square foot
house with his wife and kids inthe regular neighborhood. And you're like,
dude. But then at the sametime, I'm going he is flipping brilliant
because he's gonna have money for therest of his life and a lot of

(34:05):
those guys blow through it. Youknow. Yeah, he's gonna be filthy.
He's gonna be filthy rich. Yeah, and he's maybe maybe that's just
not his thing, being flashy, you know, just cool. Meanwhile,
his brother, Travis, his DaytonTaylor Swift and just already just spent ten
million bucks on a mansion in casey, his brother's got a different attitude.
One of them is going to beliving on the other's couch in the future.

(34:25):
But I'll say which one. Yeah, that's why Jason is saving because
he knows his brother is gonna blowall this money. He's gonna have to
take care of his brother. Whoknows. But you ever, uh,
you ever did this thing where likewhat would I do? Well, let's
I say, have you ever? But I everyone has? Have you ever
done the thing like You're laying inbed going what would I do? Like

(34:47):
maybe you just bought a lottery ticketor something like when it was up to
like a billion dollars. You're like, what would I do if I won
that much money? What would Ido if I had a billion dollars?
And I I usually fall asleep beforeI can even figure out how I can
to spend the first time. Well, I never get past the revenge fantasy.
Oh yes, that's and everybody hasthat too. M let's see that's

(35:10):
fu money. So who am Igonna f Yeah? But then I say,
I go back and forth on that. I do the the few money
thing in my head, and thenI go, no, that's let's take
the high road. I've not donethat yet. I haven't reached that.
Take the high road that level.Take no need to take your few money

(35:30):
and f people. Just spend iton yourself. But yeah, you always
go what would I do? Whatwould be the first thing I'd buy?
And honestly, I never get pastthat. I'm just like, I don't
know, I don't know. Ithink you know, it's all relative.
It's like if you think back tolike, I don't know, when you
were in your like teens and twentiesand how much money you made, and

(35:51):
then like how much money you makein your mid twenties and then your thirties,
you know, and it's like, you know, hopefully you continue to
do better and better and better.Right, But it's all relative. I
mean it doesn't. I feel like, you know, the more you get,
the more you want. It's justkind of human nature, right.
You never you're never really content. So you look at somebody that's got all

(36:12):
that money, and you know what, they're in the same boat. They're
looking at it, going it's notenough. Now. I have too much
stuff I have to get rid ofbecause of the clutter. And that's what
happens. That is my biggest problem, getting rid of clutter. I was
telling a friend this the other day. I was like, man, I
was like, it is impossible toI don't even know where to begin to

(36:35):
like sell stuff, like I havetrouble, Like I'll have a bunch of
stuff and go, well, I'mgoing to take this all over the dump.
This is all garbage, right, this is all crap I can get
rid of. And the dump won'ttake this or they won't take that.
And I'm like, well, Ican't even find places to throw stuff away,
like because it's all these rules aroundwhat you're allowed to throw away.

(36:57):
And then people are like, wellwhat about this, sell that, and
sell and you're like, I don'teven know where to begin. Where do
you sell stuff? And that's toomuch work? Of course it is.
And people are like, oh,Facebook Marketplace. I was like, yeah,
I want some stranger knocking on mydoor going here you go with the
bike for sale? Dude. Iused Facebook Marketplace like this is like six
or seven years ago when we firstmoved into our place now, and it

(37:20):
was awful because what happens is peoplewill be like, oh, yeah,
I want that, can you meetme at this particular time, so you
arrange a whole schedule around it.They don't show up. Yeah, and
that's a good way to get jackedtoo. Well, yeah, you know
what, let me have that coatand your dog. Seriously, though,
I have a lot of crap.I'm just like I need to sell this,
and I'm like, wow, whereI do have a buddy who's like,

(37:43):
he swears he's like a genius onFacebook Marketplace. So I made so
much money. Man, I've soldso much crap on there and he's like,
I'll tell you what. He's like, you know, I'll take give
me ten percent and I'll sell yourstuff. And I'm half tempted to just
do it and just say you're gonnado it. Start to finish, right,
and he's like, yeah, likeall right, I'm gonna take you
up on that. Just give youa cut to do all the legwork and

(38:04):
sell all the stuff and meet someguy in the ghetto to sell something,
get robbed dead change. Well, you know, that was the thing for
a while with Craigslist. Remember allthe murders and crazy stuff that went on
there when people were putting stuff upfor sale. Remember that lady pregnant woman

(38:24):
I remembers not you know what.I don't even want to talk about it
because it was so awful. Let'sjust say she had some baby clothes out
for sale and somebody went to buyhim and then there was a murder,
and it went beyond that. Itwas foul, but it was now you
want to know, let me thinkof a way to word this without it's

(38:45):
just so disturbing. She killed thewoman, and the woman was like eight
or nine months pregnant, and shebasically she took she took the baby.
I'll let you imagine how she tookthe baby from a woman that was eight
months pregnant. Found the story. It's creepy, right, Yeah, but
there were all sorts of stories aboutcraiglist stuff where people like, Okay,

(39:07):
cool, you got a car forsale, right on, I'll meet you
at this parking lot. They'd meetyou there, all right, and then
you you'd leave without a car andwithout any money. Friend of mine who
was too cheap to use a datingsite, yeah, used to use Craigslist.
Aren't thy free? Not the goodone? The good one? Really?

(39:27):
They charged you? Oh yeah,I didn't know that. Well,
crags list, that's why he wason there. I've been married forever that
you get top quality, so agood dating site will charge your money,
and Craigslist is where you got theweirdos. Yeah, I don't know about
that. I don't know if i'dbe looking at Craigslist for dating. This
guy's desperate dude. Didn't Facebook tryto do a dating thing for a while.
I think it fell on its face. Facebook is a dating thing,

(39:50):
yeah, but I think they wantedto branch off into like like a match
dot com like Facebook version of it. I can see that, but I
don't know if that ever happened orthat just fell on its face, because
why why bother you're on Facebook likenice plenty. Yeah yeah, I do
think back to, like I wastelling my kid the other day, I'm
like, you know, when Iwas a kidected the old man shaking his

(40:14):
fist at the clouds, you know, get off my lawn. But no,
this is for real. When Iwas kid, I was like,
we had to go out and meetgirls. We had to talk to them,
right, we had to impress them, you know. I was like,
you guys, now, man, just like scroll scrolls, swipe.
You know, it's like, giveme a break. Fill out your profile,

(40:35):
just like like a sex resume,Like you just fill out out there.
Yoh, you're good. You don'teven have to work for it.
No more. So I'm just gonnasay, it's like, this is not
the old man shaking his fist atthe clouds. This is me going,
I'm jealous. I wish we hada I met my wife on Match dot
collg. Yeah yeah, I know, dude. I know a ton of
people that have met him because Matchwas big for a while. It was

(40:58):
great. Yeah, I have afree uh pre uh uh what's the other
one? Oh uh e harmony orno, the other one, uh uh
grinder grinder, grinder grinder's the gayone. Yeah, yeah, and I
know that because, uh the theguy that was on the air before me

(41:19):
when I worked in Philadelphia was gayand he used it all the time.
We would always talk about it.What tender, That's what you were saying.
Yeah, tender. Yeah, that'sa big one, isn't it tender?
Yeah? You harmony was stuffy likethat was that one? Just that
was stuffy? Like that match wasgood. Yeah. I have a friend
met a guy on matchined and they'remarried and have kids today. Yeah,

(41:42):
you know, like fifteen years ago. But it gets all the junk out
of the way. Like it's like, you know, they like because you
know, you're not able to toto You're not you're not distracted by the
well, I think they actually, for lack of a better word, they
actually tried to match you. Soyou're at least off to a good start.

(42:06):
You get you know, you gota little bit of a jump start,
and you know, all the distractionsthat you would have at a bar
or any kind of other event whereyou're actually meeting somebody this where it's just
the profile and just you and yourwit and going back and forth. When
you talk like that when you firstmeet on it like it filters everything else
out, so you kind of getthe idea of whether or not you connect
with the person. Oh that's whereyou met your wife match, Yeah,

(42:27):
I met mine at work. Shewas in sales. Well. I like
to tell people that she was aBrownie and my wife's girl Scout truth and
we just hit it off. Thestory I tell match match, huh h,
it's crazy. I have a reallygood friend who got divorced a couple
of years ago. One of mybest friends been friends with her for twenty

(42:49):
five years, and she was justlike, it's so tough now because she's,
you know, my age, andshe's like, I don't She's like,
I'd like to date. She's like, but I don't even know where
you start anymore. She's like, you know, I think. She was
like, I'm not going on tenderand she's like, you know, she's
like what do I do? She'slike, you know, remember we used
to go out and meet people. You don't even do that anymore. And
I told her that I had hearda commercial and I don't know anything about

(43:12):
this, don't endorse them in anyway, shape or for him. I
just heard a commercial and was tryingto help her out. But the one
I hear the commercials for, andit's usually on it does sound a little
snooty. It's the just lunch thingice. I think you pay them a
good chunk of change. But thenthey set up like lunch dates for you,
which I always thought was kind ofcool because any it's not you know,

(43:35):
at night in someplace you're not familiarwith, You're not in a bar,
you're it's just like and I it'scalled it's just lunch, it's just
lunch. You just go forty fiveminutes later. If you're not into the
person, all right, thanks, see you by So I told her to
try that. I was like, try that, see if that works,
you know, get set up ona few years. There's so many now,
like back back when I used it, this was twelve thirteen years ago.

(43:59):
I mean, so, I meanwe've been together for a long time.
Like at the time, there wasthere was there was match there was
e harmony. I think Plenty ofFish was one of there, and then
there was there was Craigslist. Sothat was it like it wasn't. It
wasn't like it is now and itwe got Farmers only and the other you
know, I want to go onthere. Everything now, man, they

(44:24):
got like the farmers farmers dating site, they got the Christian dating sites,
they got the you know, theygot it probably a dating site for just
about everything. Right, you likefeet, we got something for you.
You're good? All right, it'sat O three It's Big one hundred.
We are going to chat with TimMurray from The Big Wager coming up in
a few minutes here about the gamethis weekend and maybe his picks. If

(44:46):
you want to lay some money downon some stuff, Sit tight aight.
O three, Good morning, Washington'sclassic rock. It's Big one hundred.
Time once again to chat with ourfriend Tim Murray from The Big Wager.
Tim hosts The Big Wager heard everycommander's game day one hour prior to the
official commander's pregame show. Tim,how you doing, man? I'm all
right. You know, it wascertainly not the most invigorating Thanksgiving, but

(45:10):
hey, we we press on,and all the all the commanders have to
do is now turn their attentions toanother really good football team. Right right.
I Actually I was saying earlier thismorning too that I actually shut that
game off towards the end. Itwas Thanksgiving and I'm like, I just
I can't, I can't right now. It was Yeah, not pretty to

(45:31):
say the least. I got aquestion for you though, on on the
betting side of things. So withthe recent firings, you know, the
release of the Dbacks coach and JackTaureal, does that change like spreads and
favorites and do you see a bigjump one way or the other one something
like that happens. No, youreally don't. And you know it's it's

(45:52):
it's interesting too. I mean, obviously to go into the college realm,
you think about Jim Harbaugh not beingon the sidelines for Michigan against Ohio State
and that didn't affect the line either. You know, it's interesting when you
look at hiring firings, you knowwhatnot. You know, we did see
a head coach fired this week inFrank Reich at Carolina. That line has

(46:15):
not changed. Carolina is still afive and a half point underdog against Campa
Bay. So yeah, I meanyou would think with tweaks like that there
would be adjustments in the line, but you know, ultimately there hasn't been
and if you talk to odds makersabout what a coach means the line,
it's very very minimal, you know. So it's kind of fascinating when you

(46:37):
would think, you would think itwould make a big move, but ultimately
it doesn't. And honestly, Imean, the biggest movers are quarterbacks and
outside of that, no one reallyelse moves the line a ton. Now
there are rare occasions where a certainplayer might move it a little bit,
but yeah, it's nothing has changedbased off of Jack del Rio being relieved

(46:57):
of his duties. Well, that'sit's actually kind of surprising. I could
something like though, you know, let's say Tyreek Hill goes down hurt this
week in practice, it would seemto me something like that might change the
line a little bit. Yeah, yeah, I think Tyreek Hill is someone
who's kind of one of those specialcircumstances. But I think it would be
as it wouldn't be as massive asyou would envision, right, I mean,
the drop off as we've seen withthe New York Jets from Aaron Rodgers

(47:21):
to whoever they try to out there, whether it be Zach Wilson or Tim
Boyle who was just dreadful last Friday, is going to start for him this
week. Yeah, I mean youmight as well. He might be just
as capable as what we saw fromthat quarterback boy last week. But yeah,
Tyreek Hill might be worth a pointto the point spread. But yeah,
it's not going to be as massiveas you would think now you think

(47:45):
back to Week one. The Chiefswere certainly missing Travis Kelcey and Chris Jones.
That affected the line a little bit, But it's not like Patrick Mahomes,
who you know, would probably affectthe line maybe a full touchdown if
he were out. So yeah,it's really interesting when you talk to odds
makers and and you know, ourperception is, oh, this player would
mean you know this many points outsideof quarterbacks. Like you said, Tyreek

(48:08):
Hill probably affects the line a littlebit. But let me ask you this,
if Tyreek Hill wasn't playing this weekend, would you feel better about Washington's
chances. I still think they wouldbe north of a touchdown underdog, though,
yeah, but I would feel betterbecause I feel like he's almost impossible
to cover. He is so fast. Yeah, and if you've been watching
Hard Knocks at all as that justcame out with the uh with the new

(48:31):
n season Hard Knocks. My wifewas sitting there watching it with me last
night and she goes, I'm sorry, did they say he ran twenty two
miles per hour? I'm like,yep, that's uh, that's him.
Yeah he is. Uh he's thatelectric of a player. You are like
the third person today to bring upHard Knocks. And I had just canceled
I think it's on Max, andI had just gotten rid of it like

(48:51):
a couple of months ago, andnow I'm thinking, boy, that was
a mistake, because is it good. I watched so I was, I
was a little bit behind. Iforgot that it started. Uh you know
last week when they were preparing theDolphins of the end season team this year,
and uh, I was, Iwas pretty entertained. Mike McDaniel's an
interesting cat, that's for sure, the head coach of the Dolphins, and

(49:15):
to uh, I wouldn't say isall that interesting as of yet. Now
I didn't watch last night's episode.I actually I forgot about it too,
and then I saw the tweets beingout there, so I'm like, oh,
let me go watch it. SoI watched the first episode last night
when the second episode was out,so I haven't watched this week's new episode.
But I always liked this kind ofbehind the scenes type of look of

(49:37):
of of of teams like this,So you know, I actually thought the
Jets won this offseason. I didn'tfind it all that interesting. Uh,
it was a lot of love affairfor Aaron Rodgers, understandably, So I
actually really liked the Lions two yearsago. I thought that was that was
really good with with Dan Campbell andthe character that he is at that he

(49:58):
is and a couple of the piecebut long winded answer to your simple question,
Yeah, I've been I've been entertainedso far, I think, and
that's and that's the goal in life, right, Yeah, yeah, I
think I'm gonna have to think I'mgonna have to resubscribe so I can watch
it. But yeah, and Iagree the Jets it was all right.
But I tell you what, Idid enjoy getting to know Aaron Rodgers a
little better, Like, you know, he's an interesting character and uh,

(50:22):
well that was that was the funnything too, is because Aaron Rodgers,
you know, when it was announcedthat the Jets were going to be the
Hard Knocks team this this season basedoff of you know, all of the
all the rules that were out there, and Washington was one of the finalists
because they've never been on Hard Knocksand they didn't have a new coach and
they haven't been to the playoffs inthe last two years. But ultimately they

(50:44):
picked the Jets because of Aaron Rodgers. But he said, oh, you
know, it's going to be anintrusion of our private him. Like,
dude, he loved every second ofit. That guy was. He was
eating it up. He was yuckingup the crowd. He you know,
his his affinity for the voice ofHard Knocks Leave Schreiber, and they brought
him in on a helicopter. Likeyeah, oh man, Aaron Rodgers,

(51:07):
he says one thing and means somethingcompletely different. I think we've kind of
learned that over the year. Yeah, I totally agree, because he was
definitely a ham Like you could tellhe enjoyed the cameras on him. He
definitely enjoyed it. So tell meif I've learned anything here. If I
say I want to place a betthat Tyreek Hill is going to score the
first touchdown of the game, wouldthat be considered a prop bet. That

(51:30):
would be a prop bet. Yeah, and yeah, well done, see
what we're learning here. I lovethis and let me let me oh,
the odds aren't out just yet,but that will be if I had to
guess Tyreek Hill to score the firsttouchdown, probably in like the four or
five to one range. So yeah, yeah, there you go. So

(51:52):
and if I were to, let'sjust say I had a feeling, I
don't know, just you know, woke up in the middle of the night
and had a vision that the Commanderswere going to upset the Dolphins at home,
and I were to bet on thatgame, would that be a big
money that'd be a big money bet. Yeah. Right now, you're looking
at around plus three fifty. Sowhat that would mean is put one hundred

(52:15):
bucks down, you'd win three hundredand fifty and you'd get your one hundred
bucks back. So yeah, you'dbe walking away with three hundred and fifty
dollars of extra cash in your inyour pocket. There, if you saw
the saw the future and saw thatWashington was winning the game outright, yes,
plus three fifty on the money lineright now, Well, I tell
you what, here's the thing Igot It was months ago. A bunch

(52:37):
of friends and I were voting. We were betting on god, I think
we were betting on horses. Afriend of mine had a party and you
know, had some TVs outside, and everybody's like, aren't you going to
bet? And I'm like, Idon't know what I'm doing. And then
you know, I downloaded one ofthe apps and threw a hundred bucks in
there, and I did play somebets on the horses, and what I
broke even right, So like lostin one, but I broke even at

(52:58):
a hundred bucks. That one hundredbucks is been in there, sitting there,
and I can't figure out how toget it out. And I'm like,
you know what, I think I'mgonna throw it. I'm just gonna,
you know, throw it into thewind and see what happens. It's
you know, it's been there forever. Let's let's take a chance. That'd
be a nice win. Yeah.I mean, I hear the disappointment in
your voice. I can hear yougoing, you idiot, No, no,

(53:22):
No, I mean, look,I think a lot of people and
look when I got back east forThanksgiving and I fired up the apps in
Maryland and Pennsylvania. The beauty ofit was, there's there's a lot of
different books offering free bets, soI was doing some similar things because out
in Vegas, you know, it'sfunny people thinking in Nevada slash Las Vegas,

(53:44):
Oh you could bet on anything thatis far from the truth. We
do, and not to anyone's cryingover us living in Las Vegas. You
know, we have a lot ofperks here, no doubt, but we
don't get the free bets that youguys get at your sports books. We
don't. We don't get the widerange of prop bets that you guys get
to utilize there. So it's actuallya little bit more selective, believe it

(54:06):
or not when it comes to bettingon sports in Nevada slash Las Vegas that
it is in Maryland, Pennsylvania,Virginia, d C. I mean,
you guys have got a lot ofoptions, so it's it's a beautiful thing,
man, I mean sports betting obviouslywe see the commercials. We hear
the commercials all the time. Butyou know, take advantage of those free
bets I did, and you knowyou throw those, like you said,

(54:29):
if there are some promotions out there, you know, that's when you take
your risks because it's it's free money, you know, just throw it at
you know, plus three fifty onWashington to win. I when I got
to town, there was a particularsports book that was offering I think five
or yeah, five fifty dollars freebets. So I just took all those
and just threw them on some bigmoney lines and I went one and four.

(54:50):
But guess what, it was freemoney. So I ended up with
I think it was like one hundredand forty bucks. So likext sweet,
Yeah, nice to get to playwith this. Yeah, nice. Nice.
So outside of the Commander's Dolphins game, what do you have your eye
on this weekend? What would besomething people should check out? Yeah,
I think, I mean, Ithink the game of the week is,
no doubt, San Francisco Philadelphia. You know, the Philadelphia game last weekend
was was incredible depending on what sideyou were on. I had the Buffalo

(55:14):
Bills plus the three, so itended up being a push and you know,
just the way that game went out. So look, I think most
people listening right now who followed theNFL and know that Philadelphia is ten and
one would be surprised to hear this, but Philadelphia is actually a home underdog
this week to the San Francisco fortynine ers. Wow. Yeah, So

(55:37):
I think the line and the sportsbooks are telling you a little something there.
And you know, when I lookinto this game, I actually like
San Francisco as a two and ahalf point favorite. It's gotten up to
three at some spots. But Idid bet San Francisco minus two and a
half, and you know, there'sa lot of things that went into that
bet. I do. I thinkSan Francisco is slightly better than Philadelphia.

(56:00):
They're both very good, both ofthe two best teams in the NFC.
You know, pick your poison, but I do look at some things called,
you know, just kind of schedulingspot And for Philadelphia to think about
the last two weeks, right Mondaynight football against Kansas City in the rain,
down ten at half, come backwin that game, twenty one to

(56:20):
seventeen. Short week against the BuffaloBills, down ten at half, down
ten in the second half, comebackwin in overtime in the rain, yet
again, back to back physical games. And then San Francisco, on the
other hand, got to play onThanksgiving. So there's actually a rest advantage
for San Francisco of about three daysheading into this game because San Francisco played

(56:42):
Seattle Thanksgiving night. Philadelphia played onSunday, So there's a slight advantage there
for San Francisco, kind of amini bye week, if you will.
So I just like the spot, you know, especially when I bet college
football during the regular season, Abig situational handicapper. So you look at
or who did they play last week? Is it's a letdown spot? Are
they looking ahead to next week?I don't necessarily put that too much into

(57:06):
the NFL because they're professionals. Thatsaid, I just think the spot is
really tricky for Philadelphia based off ofthis the last two really hard fought games
that they've played. So I likeSan Francisco this weekend as a two and
a half point favorite in Philadelphia. All right, all right, And when
you first said it, I waslike, he's crazy, And then when
you explained it, I'm like,he's onto something. I love it,

(57:29):
love it. He's still a littlecrazy, but maybe he's onto something here
there you go, all right,Tim, I appreciate it. Man.
It's always a pleasure talking to you. And we'll chat again next week.
And we'll see about that San FranciscoEagles game. Right, Yeah, we
will certainly see how crazy I was. All right, buddy, thanks have
a great tea. Man. Allright, you too see Tam Murray on
Washington's Classic Rock and that conversation broughtto you by Bet three six five.

(57:52):
It's never ordinary and you're listening toBig one hundred off Rock. Good Morning
with Jackson on Washington's Classic Rock,Big one hundred. Washington's Classic Rock's Big
one hundred. There's Joan Jet soother thing on socials, but this is

(58:17):
brilliant. Actually, moms uh toget a break. They're renting a hotel
room to wrap presence. They're turningit into like a little overnight mom staycation
to avoid the kids, wrap allthe presents and get ready for holidays.
I I'm like, that's kind ofcool, man, I could see doing
that. Dennis Glasgow coming up withSports on Tap just around the corner.

(58:40):
We also have a chance for youto win a VIP table for four that's
going to be four overtime Live withCoach Ron Rivera, which is coming up
Tuesday to DC Prime Stakes and Lobstersand a little brain fart there. I
think it's time for Florida Man.I was trying to pull up these Florida

(59:02):
Man Florida Man story for today becauseI tell you, man, it's not
a whole lot to it, butit's kind of funny. This h dude
decided, well, he was intoxicated. Let's let's start there, okay,
Florida man was intoxicated, shocking andwalked by a marked police car and decided

(59:24):
he was going to set it onfire. Yeah, so he grabbed a
bag of trash from a nearby dumpster, lit the trash bag on fire,
and then threw it under the policesuv and let her burn. And then

(59:45):
he went to go to the bar. I guess he started to feel guilty
because he came back to the policevehicle, which was now on fire and
surrounded by officers. The car caughtfire, he caught, and he told
the detectives it was him. Heconfessed and said, sorry, when I

(01:00:09):
get drunk, I do stupid things. He was arrested on two counts of
arseness, being held for thirty thousanddollars bond. Anthony Turduno is his name,
forty eight years old in Florida.I don't think you get points for
having an awesome excuse or for beingyou know, honest, but you know,

(01:00:29):
props lit it on fire, andthen I guess felt bad about it
and went back and said, Hey, that was me. I'm sorry.
I do stupid things when I'm drunk. I think I'm more impressed that he
managed to set it on fire, right, garbage. Yeah, I'm sure
there's more to that story that wedon't know. Probably knows Natural Florida Man
for Today and coming up like sportson top of Dennis Plus, we're gonna

(01:00:50):
play what did we learn on theshow today for your chance to want to
pair tickets for the Commander's Dolphins gamethis week in a FedEx field Washington's Classic
rock Bike one Hunter. What gamewas that Miami? It was in Miami,
memmy game. Yeah, let's talkabout hard knocks. Yeah, he
got kicked in the balls on theside with Mike McDaniel, the head coach
by receiver. Yeah, and hewas miked up. Yeah, first play

(01:01:13):
the game. Yeah, and hecouldn't get out of the way, got
hit in the shoulder and then thenthe you know what, and then they
showed it in slow motion. Hisfoot came up and he took it right
in the jug and him explaining thestory. I love how he was like,
He's like I had to stand therepretending like it didn't hurt. But
memewhile I wanted to puke hard knocksin the season with Dolphins that are pretty
good. Yeah, I'm trying toI still haven't. I still have that
show. So I'm trying to figureout where I saw the clip. I

(01:01:34):
must have just it must have beenon promo to you promo? Did you
send it to me? I could, but I thought I saw a little
more of it. You and Iare texting pals now, Yeah, we
send each other hockey fights and andthe entertaining and get a good laugh.
Guy's getting kicked in the jump, you know. All right, well let's
get business out of the way.Ah, So got him? Yeah,
got that going on. What doyou think about that? I think it's

(01:01:55):
a good addition. You know,he's got a nice little pedigree of coaching,
so they needed somebody to get inthere to help out Ron because he's
gonna be busy with the defense nowand head coaching, which is a lot.
By the way, it'll be interesting, you know what with this game
versus Miami and look out for teamspeed. This is probably the fastest team
in the NFL, so get readyfor that. Though it's it might rain

(01:02:16):
on Sunday, I think. Ithink it's going to you, so that'll
slow them down a little bit.But watching two of their quarterback and Hill
and Waddle and Mozart, they're runningback and they're all fast and I mean
extremely fast. Yeah understate man.So the Commanders are going to have their
hands full with that one. It'sgonna be interesting. But maybe the rain

(01:02:37):
will slow them down. But it'llbe interesting to see how Ron calls the
defense. And I think the onething that I noticed this season, I
don't know if you guys did,but I didn't see a lot of blitzing
all the time. Now, werelied on the front four, who was
good last season to get at thequarterback. They didn't this year. I
just didn't see a lot of blitzingand a lot of man coverage. Yeah

(01:02:59):
that too and away that's big boysstuff. If you're not, you're like
you're sticking. Yeah, but wewere getting we're getting burned. We were
getting burned. But my point isit's hard to do man on man coach
that is That's why there's so muchzone coverage and and all the other kind
of schemes we play back there becausethey're they're looking for pockets and everything.
And but I'm telling you what, man, the man is hard, and

(01:03:19):
don't do it against Miami. ButI think to see a little more blitzing
because what you're gonna have to Ithink that's the answer only thing. But
I will tell you that to putpressure to uh the quarterback is good at
dumping it off. Yeah, he'sgood at those seven to fifteen yard patterns.
And he's got a good, goodarm better than fifty yards down field.
Yeah yeah, and he can runtoo. So it'll be an interesting

(01:03:42):
game to see how that goes. But I hope it rains. That'll slow
Miami down a little bit. Yeah, you know, if they get a
little pressure on him, it'll it'lltake Well, they're gonna have to,
but you know, Ronald try somestuff. Yeah, I mean why And
you know this is beside it beinga trout for a few coaches to see
who's gonna remain and who knows ifany of them are going to remain for
next season. Remember, these playersare playing for contracts in the future,

(01:04:02):
whether it's this team or another team. So nobody is giving up, nobody's
pulling the shoot. No, noneof that. That's not how. The
players can't do that, like yousaid, that's if this is their career,
they can't. So this is ayou know, a five game trial,
man, this is the way itis. And we got a buy
week after this one. Yeah, but she got the latest bye week I've
ever seen in the NFL. Iknow two teams have it. I can't

(01:04:24):
remember who the other team is.That's a late bye you got Miami got
Dallas to Rams yep, yeah inDallas. Yeah. I mean it's a
gaulet, it's a gauntlet, man. I know you're wincing because it's hard.
Well, it's just going to beugly. Yeah, I think I
don't know. Ron was saying Monday, Monday he called it. He was

(01:04:45):
saying, or no, Tuesday,he was saying that these things are going
to be simplified. On defense,Yeah, it's not going to be as
complicated, right it was. Idon't know what that means. I think
that maybe their defense, especially witha lot of you guys, might have
just been a little too complicated.I felt like a lot of times they
didn't know what they were doing orthey you know, were running them.

(01:05:08):
It sounds to me like he's goingto simplify things and just be like,
let's let's do what we're good at. Well, i'll tell you what I
know. You get a chance totalk to him with Julie on Tuesday Win
Round location. Do you see Primestakeand Lobsters in Ashbourn at seven o'clock right
here live on Big one hundred. That was a nice plug. Thank you,
welcome you. I've been doing thisradio things. I want to help
out the show any way. Ican also listen on the iHeart app that

(01:05:30):
you can't thank you guys would makea program director proud. Uh, only
if we had a proper program directorto be proud of us. So,
but you know, it'd be interestingfor your analysis to maybe ask those kind
of questions. After one game ofcalling the defensive, what did you simplify?
R like boil it down for us? And Layman's what did you do
differently than Jack del Real this lastgame? I'd love to hear that,
Yeah, I really would. Sothere's your question. Let's see how they

(01:05:53):
do. Let's see play and thenwell, what Tim Murray, I have
to say about the game. Ummmhe said the forty nine ers who were
gonna beat the Eagles and on theon the Commander's game, Uh yeah,
he wasn't His point spread is itis ten? I think it was like
ten, okay, And I said, what if I had a you know,

(01:06:14):
a vision the Commanders are upset theDolphins at home? And I think
he was probably like, you're moron. No, but look, look it's
the NFL any given Sunday, anygiven game. These guys are professionals.
You see absolutely, you see ithappen all the time every weekend, live
it up, yes, every weekand so anything can happen. They can
beat the Dolphins, yes, yeah, will they I don't know? Yeah,

(01:06:35):
I mean, and we talked aboutit yesterday. Unfortunately they could.
They could lose the rest of theirgames too, the way the direction they're
going in. So I'm hoping thatthey see a new lease on life the
last five game with wrong coin thedefense, they take some chances, do
something different, simplify. I don'tcare what it is, but at least
compete out there. Because the homegames this year, for the most part,

(01:06:57):
has stunk out. The joint brutal. Yeah, I mean that Chicago
Thursday night game. Still, Iwas just going to say that Bears game.
They lost sixteen in a row.For the love of god, that
was awful national television, you know, because I'm always looking for a you
know, last half full. I'malways trying to figure I always tell people,
well that you know, it's liketen minutes for the game they announced

(01:07:18):
the Bucks deats. Of course theywere fired. Yeah, lucky us.
Of course Chicago was fired. Yeah. But that was your first night here
too, that was your That wasmy first show, first, the first
game. Yeah, yeah, thatthat train wreck. But my point is
is that we've had a lot ofsellouts and the home fans have not been

(01:07:38):
regaled in great football, and that'sa shame because they're all on new ownership.
They're very excited about that. Butthis team has got to come up
with some kind of upset winn athome to get everybody excited before the season's
over. I'm not kidding, man. They got to come up big.
So hopefully maybe it's this Miami game. All right, let me ask a
good question. Yeah, I thinkit was yesterday we were talking about whether

(01:07:59):
you draft for position or age.Old debate whether your draft position or your
draft best player. Yeah, Sam, how do you think Sam How's doing
this year? I would say he'sbeen almost exemplary for what they what they
needed, so I would I wouldgive him a B plus a minus.
I hang around that Rangel. Let'ssay B plus for his first year.
That's pretty flipping good, right,Yeah, one of these top quarterbacks comes

(01:08:24):
up in the draft and eat andgrab. Do we take him? Well,
there's been a lot of talk aboutthat about doing that. It all
depends on whoever is GM and coachnext season, how they feel about him.
It really it comes down to that. Uh, it'll be interesting.
I say keep him. I thinkhe's the real deal. You know,
I've been on board since day one. Yeah, keep no Well on the

(01:08:45):
build on that offensive line. I'mon board with how too. But again,
if you go to the if yougo to the drafting the best player
available and you got a top quarterbackand if anything, you can use him
for now mind you, those thetwo top quarterbacks, the one from USC
and the one from Carolina, willnot be available. They'll go one two
probably or one maybe two three. They're not going to be available. He'll

(01:09:10):
stay trade up. Harrison Junior goingto go. He'll probably go two or
three. You know he'll hang inthat area too. The Ohio State running
back or the wide receiver. He'sunreal, unreal. So but they're going
to have a high draft choice. But I say go offensive line. I
really do if and this is ifyou keep Howl, which I think they
will. I think, so goand by the way, get two offensive

(01:09:30):
linemen in the top three rounds.Really build it up. I know it'll
be boring and commanded. Oh no, offensive lineman, no, ten years,
take care of howl. We're goodto go. I saw Seattle do
it a couple of years ago wherethey use their first round draft choice and
late in the second they've got twobookends on the tackles. They're set for
the next ten years. They're bothfantastic. Look, man's you know interior

(01:09:53):
line. How many times do wetalk to football players and they say it
actually is all about interior line. That's where it all happens. A success
of the Philadelphia Eagles, Yeah, look at their line. Yeah, look
at their line on defense there they'reo line to look unreal. Look at
them. Now they have other starsthat wins football games. It does,
but they have other weapons. Butyou're right, of course, the interior

(01:10:13):
lines on both sides of the ball, they're unbelievable. They're quick, they're
strong, and they're mean. Andif you're watching a game and you're here
and you know a guy on theo lines name six seven times a game,
yeah, you know that, it'sbecause he's that good. That's right,
right, that's right. Yeah,And then you know Kelsey's getting near
the end of his career. Butthey've been a great center for years too.
Yeah, that's always been an underratedthing. They have a great center.

(01:10:35):
He knows what they're doing well becauseKelsey can pull and blockhoy, he's
quick, quick, crap, he'sfast. And then I don't know how
he survives the tush push, Yeah, because he is on the bottom of
a dog pile of twenty two man. Yeah, have you heard him talk
about that? Yes, I haveon the podcast. You kidding. He's
like, you just lay there likeyou can't breathe. It's cruel, and

(01:10:56):
he's you just got to wait forhim to get off you horrifying feeling.
Man, I think you're gonna die. Yeah, all right, all right,
Hey, a couple more things.Caps won last night and Wizards lost
last night. A yeah, andthe Caps playing Anaheim tonight, Anaheim tonight,
ten o'clock, Caps after dark.Yeah yeah, way after after,
way after your bedtime after for bothof you. All right, thank you,
