Speaker 1 (00:01):
In its earliest days, the major function of radio was news.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Going on, here, beautiful, let everybody go.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Why don't you put on a show and charge admission? Okay,
so I would say something with music and comedy. Now
you're talking.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
It will be a show for everyone who loves music
and murder.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Come on, Chuck, we gott it. Take show to dude. Showtimes.
Are you ready? I'm ready, ready, ready a job bag.
Good morning, six oh eight. It's DC's class crack big
one hundred Jackson here man. I just saw an article
this morning. Snoop Dogg is making five hundred thousand dollars
a day a day to be a correspondent at the Olympics.

(00:56):
They say, when it's all said and down, he's going
to walk away with fifteen million dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
That is the ultimate gig.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Oh my god, that is I mean, hey, good, good
on him. You know, can't can't hate the player. He's
just being Snoop Dogg too, getting paid five hundred thousand
dollars a day to just be himself, which is it's
pretty cool. By the way, be careful out there this morning.

(01:25):
They crunched the numbers. The most dangerous day of the
year to drive August seventh, that's today?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Why is that? Did they explain why?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
They say? It was done by a dash cam company.
They crunched the numbers and found August seventh most dangerous
day of the year. And I'm not sure if they
actually like have any reasoning behind it other than just
the numbers. They didn't explain why, you know, a random
Wednesday in August it's crazy dangerous, But that's just based

(01:57):
on National Highway Traffic Safety Administration numbers. They also did
a poll found that sixty two percent of drivers feel
like the roads are more dangerous than they were five
years ago. Yeah, maybe I don't know the drive in
this morning, dude. There are some crazies. Like my biggest
pet peeve is the people that can't stand their lane

(02:17):
and they're like maybe they're passing on the left or
or you know your pet whatever it is. There's a
guy this morning and he's passing on the left and
he's just like drifting into me, like came like a
foot or two over the line. I had to like
swerve to get out of the way. I'm like, come on, dude.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
When I see people holding up their phones like up
to their face, I just want to go boom. Yeah,
every time like that is that is a pet Peeve.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Be careful out there. It is day August seventh, you know,
six ' ten this morning, we're gonna have some more
tickets to give away for Deep Purple. Will continue with
a big word of the week Pearl Jam. Tickets up
for grabs at the end of this week, So a
new letter comes you wait about seven twenty Florida Man
sports on tap Things I Know before seven it's DC's
Classic Rock, Big one hundred. DC's Classic Rock. It's Big

(03:07):
one hundred. I always do that. It's like there's no
way around it because I'm an idiot. I was take
a bite of breakfast, like right before him going on
the air. Notice I do it, and then I look
up and go, god, dang it, I did it again.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
It's like six seconds left on the song.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, you're like Jeff, and you would think you would think,
all right, tis six twenty three Things I Know coming up.
Just before seven o'clock this morning, they put out a
list of the most desirable places to live in the country,
and in it number one it was Tampa, Tampa. I

(03:45):
guess Tampa has spent some time in the in the
top ten. Over the last handful of years, they were
number ten, kind of moved their way up to number five,
eventually number three, and this year they're they're number one.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Aren't they taking a pounding right now?

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I think so, aren't they? Is it?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I think so?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I haven't really been paying attention to that. I'm sure
it's hit landfall by now, right. I said, that's like
three of the three of the cities in the top
ten are in Florida. It's like a Orlando, Miami, and Tampa.
A lot of that has to do with the weather,

(04:23):
cost of living, crime, you know, things of that, natures.
They put a lot of things into it. But I
don't know if I'd want to live with the threat
of hurricanes every single year. I mean, it's not like
a once in a blue moon thing. It's every year, Yes,
it is. And it may just white men, I mean.

(04:44):
And the fact that you know, I know there are
huge issues with like homeowners insurance in Florida. Isn't that
there's been a big stink over that over the last
handful of years.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Well, not to mention.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Florida, Well yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It does kind of
surprise you that it's number one, but it is dead
last DC.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
I'm guessing that has to do with crime and price.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
You're right, Yeah, I mean, I assume you're right. One
would think that that's going to be the high crime
rate and the cost of living, because the cost of
living is absolutely friggin ridiculous. It's one of the worst
in the country.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I looked at a at a condo right, like in
my neighborhood. Yeah, so it's a decent you know, it's okay,
two bedrooms, Yeah, three million, three million is a condo,
and it was okay, Like it didn't blow me, it
was okay.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Yeah. It's ridiculous, man, It's crazy, even the price of
rent just throughout the entire DMV. It's just through the roof, dude,
it's insane. So yeah, I would guess that a lot
of that has to do with crime and the overall
cost of living. But Tampa number one, Washington, d C,

(06:07):
dead last, Charlotte is in the top ten. I think
it was number two this year. Virginia Beach was in
the top ten. I do like Virginia Beach, Miami, Orlando.
The typical stuff they also just did. It may have
been a part of the same study where they do
like the fittest or healthiest cities in the country. Typically

(06:29):
it's like Boulder or Denver or Salt Lake City or
you know, someplace where people are just huge outdoor people
get a lot of exercise. Falls Church, Virginia was number
really as the healthiest city in the country. So I'm
gonna dig into that one because I was I was
really surprised by that.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I'm like, really, we need to get False Church and
Ashbourne together.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
And I know the healthiest and the most lustibule. It
could be a match made in Heavan, right. It is
a six twenty seven quick break here. It's DC's Classic
Crock Big one hundred. DC's Class Crock is Big one
hundred six forty two Pelt Collins. It's Jackson here time

(07:15):
once again for things I know remind me. I want
to run down the list of what countries pay Olympic athletes. Okay,
they get like a reward if they win a medal,
they'll be blown away because the USA is cheap.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Does anybody make as much a snoop?

Speaker 1 (07:39):
No, not quite, but but there are some that pay
pretty hefty reward for gold. So we'll talk about that
coming up and then compare that to the fact that
these people have trained their entire lives, dedicated their entire
lives to their sport to make it to the Olympics,
only to have Snoop Dogg making five hundred thousand dollars

(08:01):
a day talking about them. All right, let's see what
we got here. Warts are caused by well, a human virus,
the keyword being human. A warts lumpy appearance is due
to epidermal cells multiplying due to the virus. So no
frogs and toads cannot give you warts.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
That was just something people made up to stop me
from living my life.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
I guess pretty much warts can spread based on skin
to skin contact, but not toad to skin. I did
not know this until today. The biggest city in Florida
is Jacksonville. Its population is twice that of Miami's. I
was assume Miami, Orlando or the biggest, but no.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Jacksonville just spread way out.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah, well that's up there in the Panhandle, right, Jacksonville. Jacksonville,
like that part of Florida is another country. That Lescuit
and Linard Skinner, the people I've talked to, they're like, oh,
that's another state. It's not his completely. They say the
Panhandle of Florida is more like Alabama than it is

(09:10):
like Florida. The sixth biggest export by the US. Well,
it's not corn, it's not soybeans, not gold, it's human
and animal blood. Wow. The second would be vaccines and cultures.

(09:31):
But the biggest, sixth biggest export human blood for transfusions.
I guess, I guess. Gandalf says, you know, in the movies,
says you shall not pass. Apparently he never says that
in any of the Lord of the Rings books. He

(09:52):
only says you cannot pass. But the line was changed
for the movie because they said it sounded more dramatic.
Let me see that this is interesting. Almost all of
the wasabi we eat in the US is not with sabi.
I'm gonna look at things differently now. It's actually a

(10:12):
mixture of horse ratus, horse radish, mustard, starch, and food coloring,
because apparently real with sabi is usually too expensive to import.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Does it taste the same?

Speaker 1 (10:25):
I don't know, I'm not. I mean, I use a
little bit of wasabi with like sushi. Yeah, put in
suy sauce, whatever, But I only use a tiny bit,
just that little bit of flavor. So I couldn't tell you,
and who knows, It's very possible after reading this, I've
spent my entire life and have never had real with sabi.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
I thought I had, but apparently I have not either.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
I don't know. I don't know. Now I want to
try the real stuff and see. All right, it is
six forty six. You're listening to DC's Classic Rock. It's
Big one hundred. DC's classic rock is Big one hundred.
Tom Petty running down a dream. Tom's from Florida, He's
from Gainesville. He's a Florida man. Was a Florida man.

(11:11):
That one sucked, Tom Petty, That that one, Yeah, it did,
It really did kind of. I remember when the news
broke and it was like one of those like, oh man,
not Tom Petty, Come on, Yeah, that was a sucking one.
Now I'm bumped out. I was reading the story about
a you think you're having a bad day, This guy,

(11:37):
a seagull stole his wallet. He was at the grocery
store and uh, I guess you know. I was trying
to load groceries into his car and he set his
wallep wallet wallet easy for me to say up on
top of the car, and a seagull came down and
snagged it, and then it looked like he might get

(11:57):
it back, because it went and flew to there's video
of it. It flew to a nearby roof and it
sat there and picked all the dollar bills out of
it like it was just picking at the paper. And
he followed it, but it picked up the wallet and

(12:18):
flew away again, and I guess he chased it across
a lot, over a fence, onto the roof of a
car wash next door, and then he finally gave up.
But this pretty funny video of the seagull just kind
of shaking the cash out of the wallet and then
flies off with it. So I'm assuming that you know,
dropped it somewhere right. That reminds me of a video

(12:41):
I saw where a it was a large bird hawk eagle,
you know, falcon something that stole a cell phone. Have
you ever seen that?

Speaker 2 (12:53):
No? I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
It stole a cell phone and flew to its nest
like halfway up this cliff, right, So the guy climbed
up the cliff to get his phone, and there it was.
He took it back to the nest, dropped it in
his nest, and so the guy you know, climbed up
and sure enough, you know, was filming it. Sure enough
there was sitting in the nest. So he got it back.

(13:16):
But it's like, what's birds stealing wallets and phones? Seagulls
are the worst man at the beach. They will just
come down and swipe stuff right out of your hands
if you're not paying attention.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
You've seen those pineapple thingies that you can get at
the beach. It's a pineapple. They cut the top off
and they hollow it out and then yeah, yeah, I
had a seagull hit one of those that I was
having one time and got like half of it out,
just like raw.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah, I've like it happens fast. Oh yeah, I've been
not paying attention, holding like a sandwich or something and
it's gone. They will swoop down and take that stuff
right out of your hands. Insane. All right, it is
seven oh seven, coming up at about seven twenty ish,
we're gonna give you your next letter for the bird
Big word of the week, the bird.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Worth No, it's on our brains. We're bird brained.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
The bird word of the week now the big word
of the week, and that's good for Pearl Jam tickets
at the end of this week, plus Deep Purple tickets
a little bit later this morning. We'll take care of
some business now and be back after these birds in
just a few it's DC's Classic Rock Big one hundred.
DC's Class Crock is Big one hundred and seven. Two.

(14:26):
Good morning. I was just looking at this list of
interesting facts about the Olympics, which continue to run through
the eleventh, I believe is the final day. The team
skateboarding team for Great Britain. It's just awesome. Is a
bunch of kids and then a fifty year old man.
Looking at the picture of the team, It's like a

(14:48):
handful of teenagers and then one fifty year old dude.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
The plane that they used to fly horses into the
Olympics for like re questrian events is called air Horse one.
I just love and I did not know this. The
US gymnastics team has a therapy dog. His name is Beacon,
Golden retriever, beautiful dog. Looking at a picture of Simone

(15:16):
Biles with Beacon the therapy dog, I'm not sure why they
have a I don't know. Maybe it helps him relax.
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg really are friends. They've been
hanging out in their spare time. It's the Olympics together
and I don't know who had Snoop Dogg in the

(15:37):
Olympics on their Bengo card, but you nailed it. Man.
He's getting like we was mentioned earlier, he's getting like
five hundred dollars a day for that job. Did you
know Yao Ming is the coach of the Chinese women's
basketball team, like the Yao Ming I didn't know that, Yeah,
I mean neither until so I'll picture him with the team.

(16:00):
Of course, he's like, you know, like four feet taller
than everyone else, Like, who is that? Oh that's yam
mean dig a little deeper. Turns out, turns out he's
the coach. And you know when they give him the medal,
the little cardboard box they keep handing the athletes, I
assumed there was like a rose in there. That's like
that was my first thought, you know, like sometimes they'll

(16:21):
put a rose in a box. It's actually an Olympics poster,
is what they're giving them. So that little cardboard box,
the long cardboard box they're holding, is a poster. It's
kind of cool to commemorate the event. I guess your
life's work. Yeah, yeah, right, it's crazy. Here's the big

(16:45):
thing right now, one more for you before I get
to that. The youngest athlete in Paris right now. I
think she's a skateboarder from China. She's eleven and the
nuts eleven years old. She was born in twenty twelve.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Is there an age limit on how old do you
have to compete?

Speaker 1 (17:04):
I don't know. That would would have been my next question.
I'm like, how old do you have to be? She's
eleven years old, which is amazing. I mean, it's awesome,
love it. They continue The IOC continued to say it
is safe to swim in the Sane River today, but

(17:25):
it is not. And I dug a little deeper, and
they're still not canceling some of these events. You know,
their test they had already. I think yesterday they had
to cancel a test swim, like a practice swim because
the bacteria levels were too high. You remember before the
triathlon they had to I think delay it a day

(17:48):
or two because the bacteria levels were too high. Right,
and now that they keep saying, we have the athletes,
you know, best interest at hard here we're gonna we're
gonna take care of them. But there's still landing a
race or two or three, just a couple of days
from now.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
How do you take care of that? How do you
clean that?

Speaker 1 (18:07):
I don't know, but when I dug into it, and
I didn't know this, it's not even a river. It's
a drainage basin, like a sewage drainage basin.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Like full of graywater.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
It's nasty, dude. And because the infrastructure in Paris is
so old, they can't stop the when it rains a lot,
they can't stop the sewage from overflowing into the river,
which has been happening. They say, literal feces leaks into
that river, which is not even a river, and it

(18:43):
has been illegal to swim in that river for more
than one hundred and twenty years because it's so contaminated.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Catacomb's leaking into it.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
So they spent about billion dollars, actually more than a
billion dollars to try to clean it up before the Olympics.
I don't know what you do treat it was something,
but it's been a total failure.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
The practice ahead of that triathlon was canceled. Bacteria levels
a few people, handful of people fell sick after the competition,
and I think it's Belgium that has actually pulled out
of the remaining races because one of their one of
their swimmers got sick and was rushed to the hospital
with an E. Coli affection infection, and so they pulled

(19:27):
their whole team. They're like, we're not swimming in that water,
not swimming in that water. So I don't know what
they're thinking, but they planned to hold the remaining open
open water swim events even after multiple bacteria related illnesses,

(19:47):
and even after it, you know, every other day fails
the test for E.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Coli one and the fact that that thing has been
closed to it for one hundred and twenty years to
swimming and it's not a river to sue it drainage basin, that.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Was a dumb idea. I don't know who said let's
put them on the river, sayne.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
And also what swimming events are left that need to
be done.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
I think there's like some sort of relays, like swimming
swimming relays or something. I know there there's a couple.
There's a couple planned over the next couple of days. Here,
I'm not exactly sure, but I know there are more
to come and and they're they're planning on going ahead
with it, which all right, if more people get sick,

(20:31):
I mean, if somebody ends up like you know, that's
can be deadly, like the Belgian swimmer had to be
taken to the hospital, and you know, somebody dies from this.
Not gonna be a good look, Paris. You might not
gonna be a good look. All right, it is seven
twenty eight. We'll take a break here, but before we
go to break, let's give you your letter for the
big word of the week.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
The big word of the week on Big one hundred.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Today's letter is the letter A is an apple? The
letter A. All right, another letter coming away tomorrow morning.
Then Friday morning will wrap the word. It's good for
Pearl Jam tickets this week from DC's Classic Rock, Big
one hundred, DC's Classic Rock Hits, Big one hundred and
Daddy Money Take Me Home tonight. So Jackson here, good
morning to you. Dennis coming up with sports on tap

(21:17):
in the eight o'clock hour of Florida Man not too
far off here, and we're gonna have some deep purple
tickets to give away this morning. I was just telling
crash off the here. I tweeted it, tweeted, I cannot
talk this morning. I need more coffee, tripping over everything
I say. I tweeted at we still say tweeted, Right,
what do we say? We don't say? We I X

(21:38):
really stupid. Yeah, it's still a tweet at. Jake Tapper
last night from CNN. He was on you know, Kamala
Harris picture running mate Waltz out of Minnesota, and so
there was a big whoplah, big press, no, what do
you call it? The they did like a little rally, Yeah,

(22:01):
Leah Korse Center at Temple University in Philly, and someplace
is packed and Waltz gets up to talk and says something.
He he was making a comment about Shapiro, the governor
of Pennsylvania, and he said, I'll tell you what, he's
a great guy. He's like no better person on planet
Earth to go to a Bruce Springsteen show in New
Jersey with and everybody's say Bruce, because that's the thing, right,

(22:25):
this is the boss. It's Springsteen. Everybody's Bruce. What sounds
like booze? But if you know, you know, and you're
just like, oh, and even Walt's up there just kind
of laughs and goes, yep, Bruce, And I didn't think too,
you know, for even two seconds about it after that.
And then I'm just kind of surfing around the news
channels last night, between seeing it and Fox and MSNBC's

(22:46):
seeing what everybody's saying about the the rally. I hesitate
to call it a rally. I don't know what it
was an event? What is the worst for an announcement? Well,
I guess it is a rally, and it was a
planned rally because you know she was going to have
her running mate. But Tapper says something about yeah, but

(23:08):
you know when he mentioned New Jersey, he got booed.
And Tapper's from Philadelphia. You should know that. You would
absolutely know this.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
So and they know that, and I'm not Philly.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
They kind of jumped over it a little bit, and
he goes, all I'm saying is you don't bring up
New Jersey in Philadelphia. And I'm like, that's true at all,
That's not That's not true at all, Jake, What are
you talking about?

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Jake?

Speaker 1 (23:35):
So So, I was just I was like, you ever
feel the need to just like correct someone so bad?

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yes, yes, I do.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
So I jumped on Twitter. I was like, yo at
Jake Tapper, They're saying Bruce, not booing New Jersey. And
I was like, you're from the hood, you should know this.
Of course he'll never see it. He's got like three
million followers or something ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
But did you feel better after doing that?

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Of course I did.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
See that's why counts.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I just wanted to correct him, like, no, dude, they're
saying Bruce. Yeah. That was my night last night. I
actually got a little fishing in yesterday afternoon, which was
a nice one, a little hike. I didn't catch crap.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Where'd you go?

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Uh, Burke Berkeley Bark Lake? Yeah? Nice, Fairfax County.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Have you been to Lake Acatink yet?

Speaker 1 (24:23):
No? I heard. It's really shallow.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
It is, but it's a nice hike around it.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
Oh, is it might be.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
It's not as big as Burke Lake.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Right, Yeah. I did the whole circle around Burke, which
I know it's like six miles or something. And I
just brought my fishing pole and it was just kind
of stopping here and there as I was going, So
I wasn't really full on fishing. I guess I kind
of just kept making little pit stops. But and there's
a lot of trees on the shoreline out there, so
I lost like six lures. You'll see them hanging in

(24:56):
the branches all around the shoreline of Burke Lake. Those
are mine, Yeah, those are those are all mine. Yeah.
That was having a bad day on the casting front.
All right, it is seven forty six. We will take
care of some business here and we're back to just
a few. You're listening to DC's Classic Crack. It's a
big one hundred DC's Classic Rock. It's a big one

(25:17):
hundred Nirvana. It smells like tak Spirit Jackson. Here. I
saw another commercial another it was online for that AI friend. Yeah,
we're talking about that the other day. It's a necklace.
It's coming out in twenty twenty five. They're taking pre orders.
It's an AI Friend.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
They're just one hundred bucks, right, they're like, you know,
they're like reasonably priced.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
But you're wearing around your neck and it listens to
everything you say surveillance much and then interacts with you
via text. So it listens to everything you're saying and
then interacts with you based on what you're saying and doing.
So if you're having lunch, somewhere. It'll just your phone

(26:02):
will go off and it'll text you how's that cheeseburger?

Speaker 2 (26:06):
As irritated as I am when I get text from
real people.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Oh my god, I can't. It's just way too creepy
for me, way too What happened to the good old
days when if you were lonely you got a cat
right right at least it's got a beating heart, for
God's sakes. Yeah, But anyway, I saw one of those
ads again this morning, and I'm like, this thing is

(26:29):
just creepy. I also saw Thedulce and Gabbana is coming
out with a perfume for dogs one hundred bucks. You
can buy your dog or perfume, So I guess, you know,
a little sandal wood, little musk smell of another dog's.

(26:50):
But I mean, what does dog perfume smell like dead skunk?

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Or you can buy an ai friend for the same.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Price, kitchen trash, roadkill, sweaty growing. I mean, I don't
know what I'm interested. Look at that, Like, if you
go to dult Changbana's website, they got they got a picture,
Oh my god, they got a picture of a dog, and.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
That is that dog? Would get beat up by other
dogs if.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
They're perfectly perfectly groomed, a little fluffy thing. No, no,
it's called fefe. Dull chang Obana is fefe, and it's
in a green bottle. It's got a gold paw on
it with a red cab and again ninety nine dollars.
I'm trying to see if they give a like a
description of the scent, because that's what's That's where I'm curious. Oh,

(27:39):
here we go, fresh and delicate notes of lang lang.
I don't know what that is. Musk and sandalwood, sandwood. Yeah,
a tender and embracing fragrance crafted for a playful beauty routine.
If you're going as far as buying perfume for your dog,

(27:59):
I don't know. Man, you're the kind of person who
would buy an AI friend. I think it's a ten.
You're listening to DC's Class Crocket's Big one hundred. DC's
Class Crocket is big one hundred. Good morning to you.
It's just sort of Fred Smoot. I'm obsessed with the

(28:20):
way he says a big one hundred bighe yes, just
you know, he's doing his thing, and it's just the
way he just slides it in like last second.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Think he just slithers out of his mouth.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Yeah, it's just like babbling about something, you know, football
related and uh. And then they say it's all big hunted,
like say big one hundred. But I'm obsessed with it
because I think it sounds so cool the way he
does it. Uh. Florida Man, Florida Man. Man in southwest

(28:55):
Florida has been charged with flooding a hospital's emergency room
after attacking a nurse and stripping off all his clothes.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Because it's Florida and the most desirable place to live.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Yeah, and you know you take your clothes off in
Florida usually right before you commit a crime. It's just
what you do. Fifty three year old man became agitated
while in a waiting room at the hospital in Naples, Florida,
on Saturday. According to a report from the County Sheriff's office,
he barged into the emergency room, pushed a patient, and

(29:30):
then pushed a nurse after the hospital staff got him
into a room in an effort to keep him from
disturbing other patients. And I guess to isolate the crazy dude,
he took off all his clothes was preparing, and then
pulled the high pressure water pipe from the wall, which
immediately started to flood. The joint hospital's emergency rooms flooded,

(29:52):
causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage. According to
the report, Responding deputies subdued the man using a taser.
All right, here's a naked man in knee deep water
getting tasted. I want video. He was taken into custody
in his facing a single charge of aggravated battery and

(30:14):
then four charges of criminal mischief. I guess the battery
from pushing the nurses. You know you always wonder, like,
all right, what set this guy off? Like, I mean,
you gotta be crazy, you gotta have mental problems. This
is not just like committing to crime. This is I
went into an emergency room, caused a scene, stripped all

(30:36):
my clothes off, and then pulled up pipe off the wall.
Florida Most Desirable Place Center. By the way, that was
from an article earlier this morning. Three of the cities
in the top ten of most desirable places to live
in the country or in Florida, Tampa, Orlando, and Miami.

(30:59):
Yeah there you go. Oh and by the way, we
got a call earlier. We were talking about how we
were surprised that Jacksonville is considered, well, it's one of
the biggest cities in Florida, and I never knew that.
They said Jacksonville is actually twice the size of Miami,
and I was trying to wrap my head around that,
and a guy called in. He said, it's because they

(31:21):
the city of Jacksonville incorporated the entire county, so it's
just a huge, you know, spread out area, and it's like, okay,
well that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
There's no density, just yeah, it's just.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Like they made the entire county the city. There you go,
eight twenty five. You're listening to DC's Classic Crockets, Big
one hundred, DC's Class Crockets, Big one hundred, Red Hot
Chili Peppers. These algorithms on social media's Instagram. I think
I turned you onto the Swedish girl crash you did? Yeah, okay,

(31:53):
so I don't know how she popped up in my
feed one day it's this girl from Sweden. Yeah, the oh,
I don't know how a girl popped up in my
fan It's not like that. She's kind of like, I'm
I don't know if she's a comedian. She just funny. Yeah,
I think I know who you're talking about her, And
so I started following her, and then I started getting
inundated with like people from Finland, Norway and Sweden. And

(32:15):
it happens in an instant And now I am following
all these like Finnish and Swedish people and it's so awesome,
look at you because ninety percent of their stuff is like,
let me tell you about the sauna. It's everything saunas,
and they've all got like, well yo, this one girl,
she's like, you know, most most houses have two saunas.

(32:35):
They take their sauna seriously. That is uh, that is
the sauna. So now like every time I open Instagram,
it's just it's all people from Finland's, Sweden and normal.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
It's always dangerous for me too when I send you
something to possibly change your algorithms, when I send you
something a little wacky. Yeah yeah, so I know you
probably are hesitant to time to open up whatever I
send you.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
I'm afraid to actually look at my for you page, right,
I know. It's it's a good mix of stuff. It's
a good mix of stuff. There's there's a bunch of
UFC stuff on here. You know, you got the you
got the h the mattress actresses, and then you've got
a bunch of commander stuff.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
And by the way, I'm bad, it's pretty well balanced.
I know that jiu jitsu is your sport. But do
you watch UFC and you enjoy it?

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Oh? Yeah, you do? Oh yeah. So when it first
came on board, you were already all in, okay, the octagon.
Have you ever done it before? No? No, no, never done.
It looks pretty mean. We've sparred it because we you know,
we trained fighters at my at my gym.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
I realized that it's about your who your opponent is
and what kind of style they fight in. But is
there the most popular style that usually you can win with.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Well, it's a combination of things, right like in this
day and age. So I know everybody's boxing a little.
When the UFC first started, like UFC one and two,
when uh hoys, Gracie went and just kicked the living
crap out of everybody. That was back in the day
when everybody had a style. It was like, well, I'm
a wrestler, Well I'm a boxer, Well I'm a movie
ty guy, I'm a jiu jitsu guy, but it's vault
and now yeah it's a vaulved yeah, a ton and

(34:09):
now it's like you really need to be skilled in everything.
I repeat so but really, I mean if you're looking
at and you know, the wonderful thing about it today
is like we can actually see because we've got years
of the UFC to show us what works against an
opponent does not want his ass kicked? Yeah, and what
doesn't work? And you know it's it's really it's it's wrestling,

(34:32):
it's it's boxing. It's movie tight and jiu jitsu, those
four things and that's how you fight. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
Well, I I watch it periodically, both men and women,
and I must say it is very entertaining. I really
don't watch boxing anymore, and I would. I grew up
on boxing. Now, I grew up on the best boxers.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
I like watching like Ryan Garcia fights or you know,
I've been watching some boxing lately. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
I guess for me, I'm a little bit more nostal
and I'm a little bit older than you. So I
grew up with Ali Fraser Foreman and I watched those
with my dad. And you can guarantee it on a
prize fight every Saturday on a wide rule of sports.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Yeah, it was the best.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Sugar Ray Leonard, Yeah, much bigger Duran, much bigger Tagler,
I mean the greats.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
So I did.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
I don't know when it lost its mojo, but I
just don't watch boxing any.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
My cousin's husband is a fight. Well they're divorced now.
Is a fighter out of Nebraska, and he fought Duran
and Sugar Ray. No way, he lost both of them.
Well we're talking out to the greats of all time,
and and he fought them not in their prime. So
it was one of those like you know, when Sugar
Ray was still he had a couple fights left, and

(35:42):
Robert Durant had a couple of fights left. He got
in on the fight. I think now he got beat
both both times, but they fought him. Is incredible. He
went to distance with both. I think.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
I just think of some of the great fights, the
the Alie Fraser ones, because I think there were three
or four of them, and the Hagler Hearns ones, and
also the Hearns and Sugar Ray fights or some of
the best of all tantastic. I always thought that Tommy Hearns,
out of all those, was the most underrated because the guy,
that guy could take a punch and go fifteen rounds.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
It was really incredible. Or Spinks, he was a beast
And I used to love to watch Foreman fight just
because he's such a character.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
He was a character and he was a mountain of
a man. You really he had a hard time knocking
him down, huge guy. Yeah, yeah, but all he did yeah, yeah,
it was great. Hey, the medal count Olympics. I know
you're not watching a lot of Olympics right now, but
the Americans are leading. They have eighty six overall medals
and they are now leading the gold medal count with
twenty four. You'll be happy to know that we are
dominating track and field. It doesn't matter what it is,

(36:40):
whether it's discus throw or the four hundred. USA is dominated.
It's so fun to watch. Man, It's been great. I
was really great.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
I was reading about the girl from USA that won
discus one golden discus. Yeah, twenty nine years old she
got gold, and then China I think got second. Now,
typically in your head you think of a discus uh
you know athlete or a shot put athlete, and they're big,
you know, huge, muscular, Yes, muscular, like's not this one
hefty people. And so I saw the girl from China

(37:10):
and yeah, exactly like I imagined she looked. And then I
was like, I don't think i've ever seen the girl
from the Whoa, Yeah, she's she's smoking, yeah almond. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Yeah, she's beautiful, just tall, but she's fish shacked.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
Yeah, she's just incredibly fit. But I think technique right,
oh yeah, it's just incredible. I mean she's clearly strong.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Yeah, you know, two time champ, twenty nine years old,
really cool stuff.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Man. Yeah, she was great. So then I watched like
all her throws and was like, h So.

Speaker 4 (37:40):
I know you'll love this because you know, you you're
a parent with a kid playing sports, and you know
you're trying to watch or be a part of their
lives as much as possible. There's a kid from New
Orleans in Louisiana. He went to LSU at the same
time with one of the track and field ladies. I
wish I could remember her name, but she won gold
as well. So he's got d one parents. Yeah, the
mom did track and field and dad actually did pole vault,

(38:01):
which was going to be his kid's support.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
So they started showing home movies.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
As soon as this kid was two or three, he
was doing pole vault in the backyard or on the couch,
didn't matter where it was. They built a whole thing
fro him in the backyard. He ends up going to LSU.
He's one of the best in the world. Yeah, Polvalter.
His mom is from Sweden, dad's American. He decides to
be Team Sweden. Okay, so he's there and he knocks
out of the park at this Olympics and also sets

(38:25):
a world record.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
And you'd never seen such a cool family dynamic of athletes.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
His mom and dad are his coaches. That's awesome. And
it's just such a I mean, what a special treat.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
Paris gold medal, world record, everybody's there for you.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
It just it was so cool, man, Mike love it.
He's into about his third or fourth day of high
school practice now, which is it's a during the two days. Well,
that's completely different, right, So he played for at Margaret's.
He played for a Catholic school for like three years.
And now because he started like so sixth, seventh and
eighth grade and now it's a freshman, he's got he's

(39:02):
playing for the high school team. Well, you know, two
days start next week. Okay. Yeah, they go there at
eight in the morning, they come home at six at night.
Now they feed them and in between practices they're in
the weight room or watching film or whatever. So I have,
but it's a brutal Yeah. Well, I was like, hey,
how's the first day of practice because he was gone
like most of the day. He's like, you know what,

(39:23):
it flew by. He's like, it was long, but it
flew by. He's like, but you know, we practiced, then
we ran, then we went to the weight room, and
he's like, and then we watch film. I'm like, it's
a lot different, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
It is, Well, this is kind of like college. That's
what college will be like. But overall, you enjoy it.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
I mean he's loving it's loving it. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
Hey, he's living living his life. Man, to stay healthy.
I know you can't wait to watch the playoff seam
photos that you've taken of him and the team. It's
a lot of fun for you. Live vicariously for you.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
Yeah. Hey, one more thing about the Olympics. Stop.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
US women's national soccer team has not played for a
gold medal since twenty twelve believe it or not. Now
they are twelve yards twelve years. They won yesterday versus
Germany an extra time one nil. So they play their
rival Brazil, who are physical marches on that team. This
is her last Olympics. It's gonna be a fantastic It's

(40:15):
on Saturday morning at eleven am.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Okay, yeah, it was like when is it I'm gonna watch.
So it's gonna be a great game though.

Speaker 4 (40:20):
But it's exciting because they kind of had to fall
from grace, they got old, they had to change the
roster dramatically, brought in a new coach. It's exciting. These
these young people can play. I saw them play here
at Audi about a month ago. They're really good. So
I'm happy for the women. That's great Saturday, all right.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
Also Saturday the first preseason game of the year, and
Jayden Daniels will make his debut. Hope to see at
least a quarter out of him. Maybe not that much,
but we'll see enough to see him. We will.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
He'll take some snaps. So kickoffs at twelve ten am.
The pregame here in Big one hundred and the iHeart app.
You got your new pregame host Michael Jenkins gonna do that.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
Yeah, I'm gonna shat with him this week.

Speaker 4 (40:55):
You are, Yeah, I think Friday you probably have him
on for a few minutes to talk about the game
and his new role with the broadcast group. And then
don't forget Kraft House after the game and rest in.
Scott Jackson, Fritz Smoot will be out there. We're giving
tickets away for the one and only home game versus
the Patriots in the preseason, So come out. The food's
great out there, It's a big atmosphere. The guys will

(41:17):
be there, you can meet them. Fred is great in person.
Fred's great on the radio, but Fred is great in person.
So come out to resting at the Craft House on
Saturday after the game. It's going to be a lot
of fun. But I am just so stacked Stoke Football's here.
Hard Knock started last night too with the Bears. I
know you'll probably do a catch up on that, but
it was a great episode.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
Nick Saban was in it last night. Excellent. All right, okay, guys,
let's give away some tickets for Deep Purple. What have
we learned on the show today? What do we got?

Speaker 2 (41:43):
All right? The largest city in Florida has a population
more than twice that of Miami, which is the second largest.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
It is.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
Nine three one three. Good luck from DC's Classic Rockets
Big one hundred, DC's Classic Crockets Big one hundred, and
let's see if we can get a winner on what
have we learned on the show today? We were talking
about a city that is well surprisingly twice the size
of Miami in Florida. What city is it? That's the question.
Let's go to the fund see we can get a winner. Hi,

(42:13):
who's this, Gina Bruno? How are you, Gina? How are
you this morning?

Speaker 2 (42:18):
I'm good.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
It's Jacksonville fort.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
It is Jacksonville, Florida. You are correct. Thank you so
much for listening this morning. And we're gonna set you
up with deep purple tickets. All right, okay, all right,
hang on and we'll get you all set up. Thank you.
You bet more of those to give away tomorrow morning,
and we'll also have one last pair of Friday morning
