(00:03):
In its earliest days, the majorfunction of radio was news. What's going
on here, beautiful? Let everybodygo. Why don't you put on a
show and charge a mission? Okay, so I would say something with music
(00:27):
and comedy. Now you're talking. It will be a show for everyone who
loves music and murder. Coming on, Chuck, we gott it. Take
show to dude, showtime. Areyou ready? I'm ready ready job.
Good morning, Happy Tuesday, ona short work week. Thanksgiving coming up
(00:49):
just around the corner. Wow,this hit me this morning at like five
am that it's already Thanksgiving. Ifeel like yesterday it was Joe. Time
is flying by. But Thanksgiving iskind of early this year because it's on
the twenty third, which is thesecond earliest it can be still the third
week in November, right, Imean, we'll say they there may be
(01:12):
some science behind why it feels likethat's done. I don't like three days
earlier than one months. So yeah, some cool stuff to give away.
This morning, we're still doing thebig word of the week. Even though
it's a short work week. It'sjust going to be a three letter word.
So seven thirty this morning, wegive you a new letter and that's
(01:33):
going to be your chance to winIron Maiden tickets tomorrow when we complete the
word'tis the season for Trans SiberianOrchestra and that show is going to take
place December fourteenth to Capitol One Arena, which we'll be here before you know
it. Steve Vine show Satriani. They're playing in April at the Warner the
You're gonna we have tickets for thatshow as well, thanks to labination.
(01:55):
So the Eagles beat the Chiefs lastnight, Taylor Swift crying somewhere and I
love it. Check out. Ididn't see a single thing in the news
this morning about her being or notbeing at the game last night, and
I think that is a great startto putting this whole Taylor Swift Travis Kelsey
thing behind us. But yeah,a little exacted, a little revenge the
(02:22):
Eagles did against the Kansas City Chiefsin that Super Bowl rematch last night.
I obviously too late for me tostay up getting up to Searles opt to
go back and watch, like watchthe game this afternoon, and so I
pay for the red zone. Ithink that's what it's called. I don't
know. I have the games whereI can watch them after the fact,
so I'm gonna do that today. But apparently it was a pretty good game,
(02:43):
man, pretty good games. Solooking forward to seeing that because God
knows that Commander's Giants game was notgood. Nope, and I need to
wash the taste out of my mouth. I need to see a good football
game. Dennis Glasgow will talk Sportscoming up a little bit later this morning.
Plus we will have Julie Donaldson chattingwith coach Ron Rivera just after eight
(03:05):
o'clock. Who's still here. Shortweek, A lot of you know,
speculation that there was going to bea kind of a messy Monday, but
then you know a lot of peoplewere saying, nah, it's not gonna
have too short of a week becausethey're playing Thanksgiving against the Cowboys. If
it's gonna go down, it's notgonna go down Monday. It wouldn't have
time to prepare for the game Thursday. I don't think anybody knows. So
(03:30):
something's gonna happen. It may happenFriday, it may be a Black Friday,
or I may not have until theend of the season. But something,
something's gonna happen. There's there's gonnabe some changes yeah, so there
has to be glad that's not mydecision to make. All right, we
will take care of some quick businesshere and we're back to it just a
(03:52):
few at six twelve, Big onehundred, Good morning, Rock Rock,
Morning, one of the most withJackson on Washington's Classic Rock. Big one
one hundred, Washington's Classic Rock.It's a big one hundred. There's a
rolling stone under my thumb. Sixtwenty six, Good morning to you.
(04:13):
It's gonna rain today. Yeah,I supposed to actually come down pretty heavy
a little bit later this afternoon. But uh, you know, heading endo
the holiday, but look too bad. It's a little cool. But uh,
if I read one more story abouthow terrible the roads are going to
be tomorrow through the holiday, I'mwell flip because we all know most of
us are probably getting in a carat some point and that three hour drive
(04:39):
is gonna turn into six, orthat's six hour drive is gonna turn into
twelve. It's not like the airport'sgonna be any better. It's the worst
time of year to travel, butthey are predicting it will be one of
the busiest travel holiday travel seasons indecades, And I wonder how they know
these things so far in advance.I mean, I know the cost of
(05:00):
ass coming down was a big deal. That's how you know. Gives them
my idea. Well, people aren'tgoing to be worried about the price gas
as much. But I don't knowhow they figure these things out, tracking
the airline sales. Airline sALS.Yeah, but how do they say we
expect six million people on the roads. Maybe they predicted the same way they
predict the weather inaccurately. Well probably, Yeah, we'll see, we shall
(05:21):
see. By the way, speakingof traffic, watch yourself in DC twenty
nine. New speed cameras going uptwenty nine to combat speeding in parts of
the city where it's apparently been identifiedas a problem. Cameras will be placed
along stretches of major roads such asFlorida, Rhode Island, and New York
(05:42):
Avenue. So it's just looking atthe list of them here, it's too
lengthy to even go into. ButNew York, Georgia U Street, Pennsylvania
Southern Avenue, Florida Avenue, WisconsinAvenue. Here's the deal with these.
They're gonna give you once the signsgo up, because they put the signs
up to say speed camera. Hyeah, right, once the signs go
up, they'll start taking pictures. We're doing whatever they do to determine your
(06:04):
speed camera picture. However, theydo it for the first thirty days.
You get a warning, which isgood, so they're not going to pop
you right away. So that islet's u from the time you do it
the first time that they'll send itto you or is that just everybody?
I think it's just the thirty thefirst thirty days they are active. It
says from from the day they putthe sign up for thirty days, it'll
(06:27):
be just warnings. Well, ifI don't drop on that road for thirty
days, I'm not going to grow. Then you're not catching a break.
How about you just don't speed thatFees that range anywhere from a hundred bucks
to five hundred bucks. Oh,depending on your speed, five hundred dollars
ticket in the mail would suck.So there you go. Yeah, twenty
nine new cameras going up, andyou could probably if you did a little
(06:51):
Google search, find a list ofexactly where they are. But you'll see
the signs going. But the thingis, you know, even though you
know where they are, when you'redriving, like it's usually it goes from
like a fifty mile an hour zoneto a twenty mile an hour now where
it gets I use waves pretty muchhave it operating even if I'm not using
it for directions. It's kind ofopen and bluetooth to my car, so
(07:15):
it constantly tells me police ahead, speed, camera ahead, speed trap ahead.
You know, it's always spitting itout at you and letting you know
when something's coming up. It hassaved my ass more times than I can
count. Speed trap ahead, stop, like camera ahead, you're like okay,
cool, whereas I typically wouldn't bepaying attention. Awesome, although it
(07:36):
has also sent me in there ondirection more times than I could count.
It's double edged sword. Have yougotten the new iPhone update seventeen? Yes,
I just saw it last night.I haven't done anything. Let me
just tell you, yeah, it'sawful. Well, it just turned my
entire phone like it just made everythingwork badly really well. Here, I'll
(07:57):
give you an example. So Siriis just a bubbling idiot at this point,
Like you know how Siri was alwaysgreat? Yeah, whatever happened during
this update. So an example, like during the Commander's game on Sunday,
I was. I was busy, and so I kept checking my phone to
see the score. And so whenI said, and this was like near
(08:18):
right near the end of the game, I said, hey, Siri,
watched the score of the Commander's game, calling Ron Rivera on cell. So
Ron got a call for me rightat the end of that game on Sunday,
and this was. There was multiplethings like that over the weekend and
this morning. It could just bemaybe what's your speech this morning when I
(08:39):
was driving in there was there waslike multiple things like that. It's like
the my alarms are not working right. The alarms that are turned off are
turning back on. It's so Idon't know if if it's happening like across
the board like this, or ifit was just some weird thing that happened
with my phone. I don't knowif it may have. I don't think
it updated last night. I justremember seeing it. No, it didn't,
(09:01):
So it'll probably update tonight if Ior I can push it through at
some point today. But I veryrarely use Siri anyway. I think I
use it to set alarms. That'sabout it. Well, those alarms are
turning off. I'm just like, hey, wake me up on an hour.
You know, they're not turning off. They're they're they're continuing to stay
on after their turn. Well that'sbetter than getting showt So we'll see how
WAYS works with you after your update. Well, Ways is just a weird
(09:22):
thing with with GPS. Man,if it's not getting that signal, it's
not picking up that satellite or wherever, and it it just sometimes will be
a little bit off. It can'treally determine where you're at, and it
will tell you to turn too earlyor turn too late. You got to
do a reset on it every nowand then because it is sent me.
I was in Charleston, Yeah,Charleston, uh, South Carolina, and
(09:46):
it sent me. It gave mea tour of the city before I finally
showed it off and went to likemaps on the iPhone. I mean it
just I was like, I've beenon this bridge before. I mean,
it sent me in circles, sentme in circles. Beautiful city though,
by the way, I didn't regret. It's a gorgeous city. You've never
been there. It's awesome. Allright, let's give away some tickets.
(10:07):
We're gonna make it easy for youtoday. TSO on the fourteenth of December
at Capitol One Arena, and wewill give these to caller number thirteen,
Lucky number thirteen. One hundred andfour nine three one double O three.
It's one hundred four nine three onedouble O three. Caller thirteen will get
you set up. I have astupid question. Why do we have the
DC one oh one logo on ourTV's in the studio? I mean,
(10:30):
I like that station. I mean, I'm I'm actually a pretty big fan
of this station, But why isit on in our studio? I don't
know. I don't know. Iprobably could have asked you that off the
air. I just noticed it,and I had noticed that either there's one
right behind you too. Yeah allright, Caller thirteen, good luck.
Those are TSO trans I Beer inOrchestra tickets for the fourteenth at Capitol Want
(10:54):
Arena. Good luck. Let's hopewe go into our station when I fin
right. Washington's Classic Rock. It'sBig one hundred Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets up
for grabs. Hi, Big onehundred. Hi, How are you hi?
How are you good? Good?Good? What's your name? Natalie?
Natalie? You are number thirteen, which makes you a winner. Awesome
this, Oh my god, wonderful. Thank you? Ever what did y'all
(11:16):
like forever? Yeah, wonderful.Well there you go. You're gonna see
him TSO the fourteenth of December atCapitol One Arena, right before Christmas.
It'll put you in the spirit, absolutely absolutely, Oh my gosh, thank
you so much. You bet holdon and we'll get y'all set up.
Okay, all right, thank you, have a good day, you too.
Washington's Classic Rockets, Big one hundred. What more tickets to give away
(11:39):
for TSO tomorrow coming up later thismorning, Steve vyean Joe Satriani. Tickets
up for grabs, stick around,Washington's Classic Rockets, Big one hundred,
Living led to icons and roses,And it's just you know, Google will
tell you, like the most searcheditems really on any given day, any
(12:00):
given week, any given month, any given year. At the end of
the year, they always put outthat list to the most searched items this,
uh for Thanksgiving. Not like yougo into the Google search bar and
you start typing something and it finishesthe sentence for you. Yeah, And
sometimes like what the hell, that'snot what I want to ask some of
(12:20):
the top questions for Thanksgiving. Howmany pounds of potatoes per person for Thanksgiving?
That makes sense? How long tosaw turkey makes sense? How many
turkeys are killed for Thanksgiving? Fortysix million? We kill forty six million
(12:41):
turkeys for Thanksgiving. By the way, that God is my witness, I
thought turkeys could fly. That istwenty percent, twenty one percent of the
total number of turkeys in the country. This I can see why vegetarians come.
Sometimes it's like, that's why Icame a vegetarian. I think about
(13:01):
forty seven turkeys getting blasted just aweek and have Thanksgiving? Why do we
eat turkey on Thanksgiving? Who knows? I didn't even bother looking into that
one. How to watch a CharlieBrown Thanksgiving? We actually covered you on
that one a couple of days ago. It's on Apple and they're going to
(13:22):
show it for free Saturday and Sunday. I believe it is so even if
you don't have a subscription to AppleTV, you can still pull it up
on Apple TV. I think Applebought the rights to it years and years
ago. Lots of questions about BlackFriday, lots of questions about Cyber Monday,
and Texas is to stay with mostThanksgiving related searches. This makes sense.
(13:46):
I guess Texas is huge. Backin my day, cyber Monday was
something you did in an Aol chatroom. Yeah, well now it's four
dollars TVs. Although I like cyberMonday, you know, because I was
never a Black Friday person. Iwas always going to turn on the news
and you see these people trampling eachother to get into a Walmart to save
(14:07):
twenty bucks on something like you guysare morons, man, guys are idiots.
I have friends who would line upat yeah, camping out at freaking
two in the morning. Why it'sfifty bucks off the new Samsung. It's
like, yeah, yeah, notworth it. Not worth it. Then
cyber Monday came along and I'm like, I can do this from the comfort
(14:28):
of my couch. This is perfect. So I'm a big fan of the
cyber Monday. If it's still evena thing, is it still a thing?
That was one of the searches. Is cyber Monday still a thing?
Searches were up on cyber Monday bythree hundred and fifty percent, because I
think most of us are like likethat. We look at to a black
(14:50):
Friday and going nah, no thanks, I'll pass on there. When I
was a kid, though, manday after Thanksgiving, that's when like my
mom and my grandma and my aunts, they would all pile into a car
and go shopping. Yeah, I'mlike, yeah, no, thank you
at all. It's cold, it'sdark, no miserable, no no,
all right, coming up at sevenpoint thirty this morning, we're gonna give
(15:13):
you a new letter for the bigword of the week. All right,
it's not that big of a wordthis week. It's only three day work
week, so a three letter word. And we'll have a second letter for
you to seven thirty. That's gonnabe for your chance to win Iron Maiden
tickets for CFG on the twelfth ofNovember next year. All right, so
eleven twelve, twenty four. We'realso gonna have those Steve Vie and Joe
(15:35):
Satriani tickets and Warner Theater to giveaway. We'll probably do what did we
learn on the show today, whichusually comes your way just before nine o'clock
when Dennis rolls in for Sports onTap, Julie Donaldson gonna chat with Ron
Rivera. I am. I can'tdecide if I'm I'm anxious to hear that
conversation, or I'm gonna leave theroom for that conversation, because though she'll
(16:00):
she'll make it comfortable, as comfortableas it can be in some pretty trying
times with a big black cloud hangingover most of the coaches head. So
mad a very gloomy conversation. Yeah, we will, uh we will see.
I will. I will probably listenin Yeah, morbid curiosity. I'm
(16:22):
glad she's talking to him today andnot me. That's gonna be a tough
conversation because I mean, he's ina he's in a spot, man,
he's in a spot, and youknow, coming off that can't beat the
Giants, what could quite possibly bethe worst team in the NFL had all
those sacks played well, you knowfor the most part, but too many
(16:42):
turnovers, and he can't beat theGiants coming up a short week this week,
got Dallas on Thanksgiving, and godknows Dallas is playing well, So
who knows what's gonna happen there? And it's at Dallas, all right,
tell me that that's coming your way. Just it's the right side. At
eight o'clock this morning, six fiftytwo, it's big one hundred Washington's Classic
(17:04):
Rocket. It's a big one hundredtwo for Tuesday led Zeppelin, and this
should fall under things. I know. I was reading about this this morning,
and I did not know this AdamSandler because tiss this season for the
Honikkah song, right, did youknow that that was originally supposed to be
Roseanne Barr singing that song. AdamSandler wrote it on SNL and it was
(17:30):
supposed to be for a Roseanne Barr'sskit and she was going to sing it,
and apparently she spoke up and said, no, no, that's Adam's
things. He wrote that, lethim do it. Can you imagine it
blew up obviously with Adam Sandler, but it was it was supposed to be
for Roseanne Bar. And I cannotsee Roseanne Barr singing the Hankah song any
(17:52):
way, shape orform. You can'treally see Roseanne singing anything. No,
Well, it was that she didthe star spangled banner, which she oh,
yes she did. It was flippingterrible. Oh, I had nightmares
about that for days after. I'ma little upset with Snoop Dog. As
long as we're talking about celebrities here, Yeah, that whole Instagram thing when
(18:17):
he came out and said, aftera long discussion with my family and some
deep thought, I've decided to giveup smoke. Well, Snoop has kind
of made a name for himself orunsmoking a lot of weed. She's kind
of his thing. And then hejust put please respect my privacy. And
over the next couple of days hewas putting up just odd photos of kind
of selfies of himself looking kind ofgloomy. He would say stuff like just
(18:44):
respect my privacy. And he comesout and it's a flipping ad campaign.
It's brilliant if you think about it. Though. It was all part of
an ad campaign for Solo stoves. You might've just heard a commercial. There
was one that the air just abit ago, Solo stoves, the smokeless
fire pits, and he says,I'm done with coughing and my clothes smelling
all stinky. I'm going smokeless Solostoves, make fire and take out the
(19:08):
smoke. I fell for it.I did. I fell for it.
I thought he had some sort ofawakening, he was never gonna smoke weed
again. Nope, that's pretty good. Props to the ad agency or whoever
came up with that because I fellfor it hook line and Sinker and actually
followed him for a couple of daysjust to kind of get updates to see
(19:29):
what was going on, which ledme right up to my first solo stove
commercial. And I don't know ifI'm gonna go as far as buying one,
but it was it was clever. It was pretty clever to Tuesday all
the way. We got a coupleof from the Beatles. Maybe we'll mix
that up, will trow me likea Beatles song at You and George Harrison
song and a chair or something. Now I'll get creative with it. Dannis
(19:52):
is coming up with Sports a littlebit later. Julie Donaldson's gonna chat with
Ron Rivera. That's coming up ateight o'clock overtime with Ron, and that
should be a pretty interesting conversation. It's been a rough week. It's been
a rough couple of weeks for theteam for the coaches, and a short
week this week with the game inDallas on Thanksgiving Day after just a horrific
loss against the Giants on Sunday. So we'll see what Ron has to say
(20:15):
about all of it. Clearly he'sgotta be a little bit concerned about the
team, about his job, abouthis coaching staff's jobs. So that's just
around the corner. And then tomorrowshort week, we're gonna talk with Zach
Selby from senior writer for Commanders dotCom. So we'll talk about the upcoming
game against Dallas and get his insightson the game. All right, seven
(20:40):
thirty oh, most ish, Solet's give you the letter for the big
word of the week, shall we. The big word of the week on
Big one hundred two days, letteris A. The letter A isn't all
right? The letter A all right? So you got the letter A.
One more letter coming at you tomorrow. That's gonna spell a word. If
(21:00):
you know the words, you winthe tickets. Don't call in now,
but we'll have you calling tomorrow onceyou get the word at one hundred four
nine three one double three and forgrabs, we'll be tickets to see Iron
Maiden next year. Iron Maiden.Pretty cool price. So one more letter
tomorrow, we'll do that at aboutthis time tomorrow. It's seven twenty eights,
(21:21):
Big one hundred, Good morning,Washington's Classic Rockets, Big one hundred
two from Van Halen on A twofor Tuesday, Julie Donaldson coming up with
coach Ron Rivera just after eight o'clockthis morning. We have that conversation just
about ready to go here in afew plus. A little bit later this
morning, we're gonna play what havewe learned on the show today? Adds
easy, just a little trivia questionbased on something we talked about this morning.
(21:44):
That'll take place right around eight pointfifty ish with Dennis and Sports on
tapping. That'll be your chance towin tickets for Joe Satriani and Steve Vai
at the Warner Theater. Of course, Joe Satriani will be back out on
the road this summer with Sammy Hagaralong with Michael Lamb Anthony and Jason Bonham
on drums for a Sammy tour thatis, from what we understand, is
(22:10):
going to be all van Halen. That is pretty cool. I'm really trying
to see if I can get SammyHagar on the air because I'd love to
learn a little bit more about thattour, like is it going to be
half van Halen? They just saidthey're going to do a deep, deep
dive into the van Halen catalog, but I don't know if that means like
half to show Sammy songs, halfto show Van Halen songs, or if
(22:32):
it's just like we're doing van Halen, I'd be cool they're just doing van
Halen, be honest with you.And did you who was opening up that
show? Did you see that?I just saw it yesterday too. It
was somebody that didn't somebody I didn'tsuspect would be opening for Sammy Hagar.
(22:52):
That tour is coming to town overthe summer in July, and I think
tickets went on sale Friday. We'lltry to get you details on that just
around the corner, so your chanceto win those Steve Iyan Joe Satriani tickets
coming up in just a bit here. Sharon Osborne turns a blind eye to
Ozzie's groupies. I was actually thinkingabout this the other night. I saw
(23:14):
Sharon and Ozzie on TV, andI was like, my god, they
have been married forever and how dothey do it. Ozzie literally had like
three years of his life where hedid so many drugs he doesn't even remember,
you know, And you know, you watch the Osbourne's on TV,
You're like, how does this familystay together? And I always feel like
(23:34):
Sharon is just going to keep pushinghim on stage until he drops, because
it's like, nah, another tourwill make us some more money. And
then, if you remember, backin I think it was twenty sixteen,
Ozzy got caught cheating with his hairdresser, which I was super surprised by because
well, at the time, hewas like sixty eight years old, Like,
(23:56):
what's this sixty eight year old manis having enough? But Sharing says,
back in the day, she wasalways cool with his groupies, and
she would just say, where condom, don't ask her names, don't ask
her addresses. That was our onlyrule. Where kindom, you're not allowed
to know who they are, wherethey live. And they're still together,
(24:19):
Sharon and Nazzie, And she saysthat she just let him do what he
wanted to do back in the day, and said it just goes along with
being famous and it was always goingto be there, and so she just
let him go with it. Andthen she said the only time she really
got upset was when he was havinga real affair, not just a hookup,
(24:42):
but was banging his his hairdresser. And then as they investigated that,
it turns out she said he hadlike five or six different women he was
messing around with at sixty seven yearsold. I'm like, I want whatever
Ozzie was taking. That was everything. I mean, for real, dude,
(25:03):
that's when they actually broke up fora while. That's when you thought
the marriage might end there. Butshe she later revealed it wasn't just his
hairdresser, and the reason they splitfor a while was because he was also
messing around with six other women.Stamina of that man at sixty seven years
old, And you know, Igood for him, Good for him,
(25:26):
good for him. Oh and bythe way, it's a lover Boy.
The lover Boy. That was it. I was trying to remember who it
was and I was just like,ah, that's a strange mix. But
I'd see that show. That wasmy first concert, was a Lover Boy.
I would totally see that show.Yeah, it'd be great. I
think I will see that show coningof December, especially if they do the
full on. Van Halen said, you can't ask for a better supergroup than
Satreanni, michae Laras and the Hagarand Bonham. I mean, that's some
(25:49):
of the world's best musicians on onestage right there, all right. Overtime
with coach Ron. It's coming uphere in just a few it is seven
to fifty one. It's Big onehundred. Good Morning over time with coach
Ron Rivera on Big one hundred, presented by Fog Nick Bob command the Cloud
and dominates cypher operations with Fog andNick Bob. But you've been in this
(26:11):
game for a while now, whatis the worst part about a loss like
you just had on Sunday? Youknow, I came in with a feeling
that I wasn't disappointed with our guysas much as I was disappointed for them
because the opportunity that was in frontof them to win a football game and
we didn't. And the unfortunate reasonis pretty much the things that we did
(26:33):
to ourselves. And that's what's disappointing. Six turnovers. Have you ever been
a part of a game like thatbefore? Yes? Okay, oh yeah.
Is it correctable? It is verymuch correctable, just because there's certain
things that guys do that they typicallydon't do. I mean, you know,
Sam got careless with the ball, trying to force it, trying to
make something happen. He knows betterthan that. He'll learn from that,
(26:56):
he'll understand that it's a Sometimes thebetter part of valor is discretion. Just
throw the ball away and live toplay another down. Some of our runners
when they get the ball, fumblingit the way they did, you know,
they again, it's understanding that youknow, I have to protect the
ball when I'm going to the ground. You know, that's the thing about
the three fumbles. They all camewhen guys are going to the ground.
(27:17):
They got to know that's when you'remost vulnerable. And then defensively, you
know, not being in your gap, allowing for the big explosive play and
not seeing the rotation and putting myselfin position for the coverage. Those are
detailed things that these guys have tolearn and understand. When it comes to
the turnovers, You're about to goto Dallas and they're plus six in the
(27:38):
turnover margin. Dak doesn't throw alot of interceptions against us as well,
more passed down passing touchdowns instead,Like, how do you correct that so
quickly? Is it just? Isit just focus for them? Is a
technique? Is it a little bitof everything? It really is? Relie
It's about again making sure that we'reputting them in position, We're giving them
the tools to help them be successful. Then it's about going out and then
(28:02):
executing, you know, getting pressureon the quarterback, forcing the throws,
being tight in your coverage, understandingyou know what your responsibilities are. When
a team that is better than they'replaying, when do you start worrying about
losing the best of the players?Well, I don't, just because they're
professionals. To me, it ismy job to make sure we don't.
(28:25):
And that's what I work on everyday is making sure everybody understands there is
still a job at hand. There'sstill a task at hand, and that's
one thing that we got to continueto be focused on. Are you seeing
some of your leaders step up differentlyafter a game like that? You do
because you see them go and talkto the young guys and try and make
sure they understand. I mean, that's the hard part right now, is
that you know, we ask somuch of everybody, and that's the hard
(28:48):
part for them is that they've gotto step out and do these extra things.
Is it easier to get over this? I don't know that it's they're
such a thing as easy, Butis it easier because you don't have much
time? I mean Thanksgiving Day iscoming very quickly. The Cowboys have one
of the better records in the league, in the division as well. For
us, yes, oh yeah,it's easy to get past it just because
it's so quick. You can,you know, you only have so much
(29:11):
time to commiserate on it, andafter that, it's time to move forward.
And that's what we are. We'refocusing now on Dallas. We're preparing,
getting ready for the for the Thanksgivinggame, and you know, see
what happens the injuries. I knowit's a little bit early, but a
lot of guys seem to be kindof dinged up in the last game.
How concerning is the health of whereyour team is right now? Well,
the biggest concern was to fa Abada, you know, one of the guys
(29:33):
that is in our rotation for ourdefensive end and rush tackle positions, and
unfortunately lost him for the season withthe fracture with the leg fracture. So
that's a tough one. We havea couple of guys that are still on
on on on, you know, out because of the ham strings, and
then we have a do We dohave a couple of guys that are deemed
up and we'll see how they're respondingto treatment. Cody Barton, you activated
(29:55):
him on the twenty one day.How close are we to getting him back
and the value that he would bringto the defense. We'll see how he
handles today and tomorrow. You know, he'll be out for the installation period
today and then he'll be out tomorrowfor practice and we'll see how he handles
it. So you just mentioned faObada being down, James Smith Williams is
down. Of course, you lostyour two starting defensive ends at the trade
deadline. Where are you on theyoung guys coming up and filling in in
(30:19):
the ability that you're gonna have toput them to try to get to Dak
Prescott. Well, it was prettyexcited what we got from kJ. I
thought kJ Hannon really stepped up.I thought he showed his potential and growth
as a young player. You know, Casey Tool has been a guy that's
given us something a little lecture aswell, So it's been exciting to watch
Casey. You know, Andre Jonesthe guy that's you know, going to
have to step up with a fewof his opportunities, and we'll see how
(30:41):
he handles it. Josh Pryor isanother guy that will get some opportunities,
real athletic, explosive guy. Sowe've got some young guys out there,
it'll be tasked with the opportunity cycle, a whole new makeshift d line at
this point of the year, andyou know, it's exciting because they're young
guys and we can see what wegot. So you talk about the rush
(31:03):
being married to the past coverage overthere again, it's these explosive plays.
Coach, it's communication, well, how do right? It's communications part of
it, and then other parts ofit is just understanding what your responsibilities are,
what your assignment is, what youknow and everything goes that from being
in your leverage position to being inyour gap of control. That's how basic
(31:26):
it is at times. So theCowboys will let you in. I feel
like they'll let you compete with themfor a little bit, but they're really
good at closing it out and bringingin like a whole bunch of points at
the end of the game. Closinggames out has been kind of a challenge
for us, like how do wefix that going into a game that you
know that they're probably going to behot late. Well, I think the
biggest thing is, again, you'vegot to keep yourself in position with them,
(31:48):
and again, every opportunity, you'vegot to take advantage of those opportunities.
We can't miss chances against a teamlike this. Their run game is
a little shaky, but you stillhave dak with passing, Like, is
there an area that you try tofocus in and say, let's at least
make them beat us in this capacity? What is that? Yeah? And
I think the big thing is againit is you know which one of their
receivers are you going to focus onin certain situations? You know, how
(32:12):
do you handle the backs out ofthe back of how do you handle the
tight ends? Defensively? They're prettystout as well. You know, they
just had seven sacks I think lastweek in Carolina. What do we need
to do to make sure that Sam'skind of, you know, well to
execute the way he needs to.I think one of the biggest things we
got to make sure, first ofall, we are moving the chains properly.
(32:34):
You know, we're in first, second, and third down, we're
gaining positive yards. We can't putourselves in a negative situation where we where
we're chasing the chains. We gotinto that a couple of times yesterday and
that really cost us. They don'tgive up a lot of passing yards,
but you're I feel like last weekyou had a good bit of yardage on
the ground. Do you feel likeyou might need to focus a little bit
more on that when you know ateam doesn't give up explosive plays, they
(32:55):
don't give a lup through a lotthrough the air. I think the big
thing you have to do more anythingelse, is you've got to find those
opportunities to run the football, andthen off of it, you've got to
be really good with your play action. Do you worry about Sam, Yeah,
I do, just because again, one thing you want to do is
take too many hits. You know, last week it was it was a
tough It got tough at the endof the game just because of a situation
(33:16):
we were in having to try toscore early on. I thought he moved
the ball well. I thought hehandled the situation pretty good. I feel
like this team plays really hard onthe road. For whatever reason that is,
the Cowboys are very difficult, youknow, stadium to go into.
What is it about their home fieldthat makes it challenging. Well, I
(33:36):
think first of all, it's it'sit's cavernous. There's a lot of distractions
there. They have a good homecrowd, which is which is really part
of it. So you've got toget past that very quickly and then start
focusing on the game. Okay,so you've got what dexter Lawrence, they're
on bland four pick sixes, likewe make of that? Well, a
guy who took advantage of the opportunity. Yeah, you know again, they
(34:00):
have a very good pass rush. They can put pressure on people and force
you into bad throats, and that'sthe thing you've got to be aware of
because you can't allow a player likethat an opportunity. So we just got
to be smart with the football andwe got to be good with the protection.
All right, Thanksgiving, how doyou how do you spend it?
Do you get a Thanksgiving dinner?Yeah, we'll have a Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday
night at the hotel and we'll gofrom there. And is this a time
(34:23):
where you kind of maybe talk alittle bit because everybody you know wants to
get all like what are we thankfulfor? And does the messaging kind of
go something along those lines this weekof what we're thankful for and what the
opportunities you still have here? Oh? Absolutely, I mean again, this
has been a great opportunity. Isa challenge, and that's the biggest thing
and the only way to look atthings. If you if you can't look
at it as a challenge, youknow, then why are you doing it?
(34:45):
And so to me, everything Ido is about understanding what my opportunities
are and then knowing whether it's thetype of challenge that that that I want
to undertake. And this is well, at the end of the day,
we're all thankful to be in thisprofession and do what we love to do.
And let's have a great game onThanksgiving Day, all right, thank
you, Coach, Thank you.Overtime with Coach Ron Rivera on Big one
(35:07):
hundred presented by fog Nigma. Commandthe Cloud and Dominate cyber operations with fog
Nigma. Washington's Classic Crock. It'sa Big one hundred. The stat streets
too. For Tuesday Walk of Life, It's Big Rock. Morning's Jackson here.
I would like to meet the engineerthat designed these studios crash and I'd
(35:28):
kick him in the nuts. Andthis is weird because we just switched sides
of where we're sitting, So that'snow you're seeing where Yeah, so I
decided to come over here and playwith Master controls for a bit, and
they weren't thinking use their friends. No, not even a little bit.
I've been doing this for about thirtyyears, and I've worked in more studios
than I can count. This couldquite possibly be the worst. Yeah,
I don't know. I don't meanthat in an equipment way. I mean
(35:51):
it like the equipment's nice and thestudio is nice. I mean it in
a user friend, if I hadthree extra arms and one more set of
eyes, right, maybe, likeit's not designed to be easy to use.
Oh wait till you have to crossyour arms like this to control that
screen in front of you. That'swhat I was saying. I was like,
(36:12):
there's too much going on here, too much going on here. Hey,
jump all over this twenty dollars liftcoupon that the State of Maryland's given
out this holiday season. This isI think this is a really cool idea.
They got like a twenty thousand dollarsgrant. This will be the third
or fourth year they've done it.And what they do is they give away
and they've opped it this year.Last year it was fifteen bucks. This
year it's twenty bucks. But youcan jump on a website and get a
(36:35):
twenty dollars credit towards a lyft ride, so that if you've had too much
to drink over the holidays and youneed a ride, State of Maryland will
pay for it to keep you offthe roads. They arrested over fifteen hundred
people over Thanksgiving Break last year drunkdriving. They're giving away two thousand of
these coupons. Now, if youdo the math, that would hopefully keep
(36:57):
all those people that were drinking anddriving off the road. But if you
want to you want to get oneof these. It looks like they go
into effect tomorrow afternoon at four pm, but you can get them as early
as tomorrow morning at nine am.And you just got to go to this
website here it's zero Deaths md dotgov. Zero Deaths md dot gov.
(37:22):
And it's again a twenty dollars ridesharecredit that you can use on the lift
app and that'll cover your ride, well one would think it will. You
know, as long as you're notgoing from here to Baltimore, it should
cover most of your ride. Thesewill run out so again tomorrow morning,
nine am. If you're looking fora free rideshare coupon. You can jump
(37:44):
all over that and then use itand you know, be smart, don't
drink it. Drive this weekend. It is about that time. Hold on
now, see now I got towork on my computer too to make sure
I can actually pull up Florida Manhere because I want to get to that.
I don't know if you say,did you see the one that we're
going to do this morning? Ithink I know which one you're doing.
Is a guy on the bicycle?Yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw
(38:06):
it. So I'm just trying topull that up here because now I got
to work my laptop on top ofthe seventeen screens that are over here.
But thankfully I know most of it. Actually I'll stop my head because it
was some pretty strange story. Itis time once again for Florida Man,
Florida Man. So this was aguy in Florida who was caught How do
(38:31):
I word this, I'll just tellyou. He was riding his bike,
masturbaby. He was playing with himselfwhile he was riding his bike down the
street. A female saw him, called the cops and said, yo,
there's a guy playing with himself whilehe's riding a bike down the street.
Only in Florida. Police arrived andI guess they caught him in the action
(38:58):
of putting it back in his pants. The news is he was not riding
naked, okay, but he triedto claim that he did not do it.
It wasn't him, but the witnesseswere like, Oh no, no,
that's the guy. That's it.Man. It's just a guy riding
his bike wanking it while he's ridinghis bike. I guess one of those
(39:19):
people that gets off and doing itin front of other people driving by women
and hey, look at me onthis bike. But then he denied it.
Well then he wait, didn't wantto get arrested. It turns out
he had quite the record too.He has spent looks like a couple of
decades in prison. He was She'slike arson, arm drobbery, all sorts
(39:42):
of stuff, and I one wouldassume he was out on parole. I
want to guess that's over. Iguess you know, they've got some pretty
strict roles when you were released fromprison on parole, and I'm assuming that
running around indecent exposure, playing withyourself in public is probably going to land
your back in jail. Probably probablyOh hey, are these the buttons that
(40:05):
you play with over here? Thatmess my I don't know. Go ahead,
go ahead, yep, that's it. That's it. There's a cough
button over there, right, andwhat that cough button does is, well,
it's exactly what it's says it Youpush it if you need to clear
your throat or cough. You don'twant it to go over the air.
You push the button. Well,Crash is freaking out because every time I
push it, the mic on thisside shuts off, and he keeps telling
(40:27):
the engineers some mike button's broken. It keeps turning off and on. I
don't understand it, and he finallyfigured out Normally there's always an indicator that
says that you're doing that, butthat just it just kills off. Normally
it mutes it and the light stayson, but on this setup it actually
kills the mic all together. Which, yeah, if I kept seeing that,
I'd be like, what is goingon? I put like three tickets
(40:49):
in for that over the past twoor three months. Yeah. I do
remember the guy coming in here oneday and he was like hitting on it,
you know, back and forth, going into it's fine. You're like,
I don't know, it's just intermittent, and it always does it right
before we're gonna write, before we'regoing on here. It's because I'm pushing
the cough button and to clear mythroat. Yeah, that's another thing.
They should wire differently, Like thelittle light this is on should stay on
(41:14):
and when you press the cough button, it should just mute it. Yeah,
shouldn't actually kill it or something.Well, nell that you know,
you know? All right, doubleshat Tuesday and coming up. Looks like
we got a couple on the wayfrom bon Jovi. Dennis Glasgow's with with
sports on tap about eight fifty andthis morning we're gonna have a chance for
you to win with what did welearn on the show today? Joe Satriani
(41:35):
and Steve Vi tickets? That is, are they playing together or is that
a double bill? Do you know? I don't know if they're together.
If it's a double one, Ibet it's a double bill. There was
the G three Tour. I mean, I would love to see them play
together, but I don't think that'sgonna happen. I think it's a double
bill. There was something called theG three Tour that I saw in Boston
and this might have been twenty yearsago, but it was Kenny Weyne,
(41:58):
Shepard, Steve I and Joe Satriani. Three sets, all just rip and
guitar players. Best part of thatshow they come out and they all play
together at the end and do liketwo or three songs. They came out
and they did Redhouse from Jimmy Hendricks, and you got Kenny, Steve I,
and Joe Satriani all up there shredding. Absolutely amazing. So one would
(42:22):
assume if you're going to see adouble bill of Satriani and Steve V,
that they're going to do a littlelittle something together at the end of the
show, which would be worth theprice of admission even if you only saw
that, because those guys are justlegends, just absolutely amazing. All right,
So we'll take care some quick businesshere. Double Shot Tuesday two for
Tuesday, double your Pleasure, doubleyour Phone, whatever you want to call.
(42:43):
It's where we play two from thesame artist. You don't like that
artist, you're screwed. Sorry ifyou like them. Bonus. It is
like one of the oldest features inradio. I Swear to God October and
October and two for Tuesday, September. I see Dennis wandering around the hallway
waiting it's turn to come in,So we'll take a break from back in
a few hangout. It's eight fortyone. Good morning. Washington's Classic Rock
(43:05):
is a big one hundred and yourfirst of two from bot Jovi. It's
living on a prayer? What's UDennis? How are you doing this morning?
Many? Good morning guys. Iknow that you go to bed nice
and early, like at six thirtyat night. Did not get to watch
the game last night, but sohighlights this morning if you wanted to see
real football teams play. Yeah, they were good, big boy pants stuff.
Yeah yeah, Eagles Chiefs in therain in Kansas City, which of
(43:28):
course is a great atmosphere, peopletailorgating since eight in the morning. It
was awesome football, and the Eaglescovered last night for all the gamblers last
night. But it was an epicfootball game because it was two Titans AFC
NFC against each other right down tothe wire and really great football Super Bowl
rematch. Man, we don't getto see that here right now. Someday
I pray that we will. Butlast night was epic. That's how NFL
(43:50):
football should be played. Yeah,so I heard Kilsee had a fumble.
Well, he was a little offlast night. I think the Buenos aerostrip
had a little effect on him.Last night. He had a fumble and
a drop. There was a wellthere's some talk about that and something going
on that's distracting. I've heard now. I know you guys know this,
(44:12):
but on NFL sidelines there's a lotof finger pointing and yelling and even fighting
sometimes. I know that's hard tobelieve, but that happens just about every
game on every sideline. Camera's happenedto be on last night, and he
was a part of a lot ofthat last night. He was ticked off,
either it himself or other people.Last night. Mahomes was also yelling
at people. So it all mightnot be rosy in Kansas City, even
(44:34):
though that might be the Super Bowlmatchup. Again, So you were telling
me about this Jalen Carter play thathe almost pulled off. Yeah, that
blows me away. Yeah, sofor something cool that no one's ever thought
of that until So for some contextfor everybody. So when when in the
game, when you want to don'thave a time out, you don't want
to use one, the quarterback spikesthe ball throws it into the turf,
So he takes this nap immediately throwsthe Jalen Carter from the Eagles, who
(44:54):
plays on the defensive line, whois a very large man, got down
low and knew the spike was comingand dove like Superman and tried to cradle
and catch the spike before it hitthe ground and just about pulled it off.
It's unbelievable that three hundred and thirtypounds man doing that. Was he
just a little later did it gothrough his hands and hit the ground or
like how close away? When youwatch the video label and I'm telling you,
(45:16):
man, it was. I've neverseen it before. That's cool.
It would have been the play ofthe century if he would have done it.
I want to see that. Butit was a good football game.
Yeah, uh so Thanksgiving, Yes, Turkey football. And then the Commanders,
not necessarily in that order, rightDallas. Listen, Sure Weeks man
(45:37):
are killers for anybody, and afterwhat's happened to the Commanders, I fear
for the worst. I mean, right now, point spread I think is
at eleven in favor of the Cowboys. I think that's not too generous,
but they have been known to playup. I really don't know what to
expect anymore. I know we saidthat a couple of times this season,
but I really don't know, andI'm fearful of everything. I could see
(46:00):
a blowout. I could, Ihope not, But I could see a
blowout on Thursday. And if so, are we looking at a true Black
Friday? What do you think?Well, I know a lot of people
have been talking about you, andI have been texting about it. You
know, I was talking with somebodyin the hallways just before I popped in,
And here's what I think about that, after really giving it some thought.
While we don't know what ownership isthinking about, I think it comes
(46:22):
down to optics. Because I thinkwe can all agree that the Commanders are
not making the postseason right. Wecan also agree that there are probably going
to be changes because the billionaire boughtthe team and he wants his own people
in. I don't know what Ron'sfuture is as far as football. I
don't if he wants to coach anymore. If he does lose his job here,
he might want to be an advisorif they offer them that or team
(46:42):
now. I think he'll still stayin football, but it's a matter of
optics at this point. Do youwant to can everybody to just show the
fans, hey, listen, we'rewatching and we care. So we're gonna
can some people and we're going tolet them write it out and we're gonna
start to look at our changes nowand get ready for the draft or wait
for the into the season. What'sinevitable. But do you want to hang
him out there like a big Manzaball and say, hey, listen,
(47:04):
we know you're getting fired, butwe're going to let you finish out the
season. That's awkward too. Yeah, So I think it's just about optics
for the owners at this point. Here's the thing, right, this was
the gimme year. This was therebuilding year, This was the repair year.
This was the put the band aidson and heal the wounds year.
Ye okay, and people need toremember that. You get, you know,
three quarters away, halfway through theseason, and people start going,
(47:28):
well, we're it's like, backup, back up. You know what
I did last night? I satdown and read a timeline of Snyder right
and all the crap Yeah that wentdown, yeah, under his ring,
it's I mean everything, Yeah,And looked at that timeline and it's disgusting,
Yeah it is. And and thenyou look at it, and then
(47:50):
you look at the sale of theteam, which was what back in April,
yep, right, And then youlook it's only been since back in
April. Yeah, that that ended. Yeah, everything's still pretty fresh.
Wanna take a little time to buildthis back up. And make no mistake,
the cupboard was not full even close. For the Commanders. We had
a rookie quarterback, We had avery average offensive line, and we had
a defense that we thought was goodthat isn't And then we traded away to
(48:15):
a best of our defensive linemen toget some draft capital for next year.
Go take a little time. It'sgonna take another couple of years. But
they have to have a good draft. It looks good, it looks good
going that direction, it does notlook good looking. It's going to be
fine. They got a lot ofdraft capital. They might get some more.
And I will tell you this.If you go to this this website
over the cap dot com, ittells you about salary caps for all the
(48:35):
teams next year. Washington is inthe top five as far as money that
they can spend next year because they'llpay. Yeah, so if we don't
want to, you know, ifwe want to bring in some free agents
and certain positions, they can. They're in a position to do that,
which is great because if you don'thave money to spend, no free agents,
so beside the draft, they canget a lot. This team could
look vastly different in a very positiveway next year. Yeah, but we're
(48:57):
gonna have to wait it out. It's brutal, right now. Yeah,
you know, it's ugly. It'sand I feel bad for fans because you
sell up crowds and were we're poopin the bed. I mean, it's
just awful. It's ugly. Butlook in the rear view, that was
a hell. All it was youand the watch show. Listen, I'll
tell you when That's. All I'msaying is that I've got some awfair stories
for you from the oldiest when Iused to be here, from a waight
(49:17):
to ten. Oh yeah, andmy goodness, Oh I'm sure well Sneyder
owned our radio group back then.Sure did he? Yeah, he owned
Red Zebra and he owned a radiogroup ESPN nine eighty. I got some
stories. Yeah, I should writea book. Have to tell me.
Hey, a couple of more noteson sports going around. The Wizards scored
one hundred nine hundred and twenty somepoints last night. They lost to Boston,
who scored one hundred and forty twothe the or Milwaukee if Milwaukee,
(49:39):
Milwaukee's unbelievable. The Greek freak Giannishad a big day forty four points.
Be great if I cared about basketball. I know Wizards have only won two
games this year, really, butthe Caps are hot and they've got a
game Tomorrowwarts and now they are theyare but still the worst power play in
the NHL. I don't know howthat happens. But they've got a game
(50:00):
against Buffalo tomorrow night at cap Oneand then if you want to check him,
during the holidays, they also playFriday night. Uh So a lot
of hockey coming up at Capitol One. And uh, Maryland's got to find
a football game versus Rutgers has finishout the season. They've got their six
wins, so they'll probably be ina bowl game that qualifies them. They
played pretty Uh I'm back to Michigan. Against Michigan, they played pretty fantastic.
(50:20):
Yeah, I was, I wasstuy a good football team. Were
joking around that that was just goingto be as ugly as ugly gets,
and it wasn't. Michigan might bea little distracted because they're cheaters. Well
that science Steelers. They're probably concernedabout Taylor and Travis too, probably,
Yeah, we all are though. All right, you guys good to go?
Yeah, thank you very much.Good one. Man? Are you
(50:45):
and tomorrow? Yeah? Absolutely,I'm always here for the show, wasn't.
I'm taking metro today? Was isthe Boss? He's gone, He's
gotten gone for a week now, gone for the holiday parts of known?
Yeah, did he go back toBoston? Al? No, he went
south, did he? Yeah?He did? All right, Yeah,
I'll fill you all right, Okay, guys, I'm gonna come all right,
I'm gonna come see you for oldSnyder stories. Oh ass loup on
(51:06):
where the Boss went for the holidays? Right? All right? Perfect,
good one, appreciate it. Manis all right to it is nine oh
one. We're going to uh takeher some business here. We'll kick into
some commercial free two first and Jackson'secho. Well, we typically don't do
that on a Tuesday, so Imight skip it today, but we will
bring it back tomorrow. In thenine o'clock hour. All right, it
is Big one hundred. Good morning, Washington's Classic Rackets. Big one hundred,
(51:30):
Dan, your first of two fromAerosmith on a two for Tuesday.
It is time for your opportunity towin some tickets to see Joe Satriani and
Steve Vai. This should be outof a show and all you have to
do is pick up a phone callthis number one eight hundred four to nine
three one double o three. That'sone eight hundred and four nine three one
double oh three, and we willplay what did we learn on the show
(51:52):
today. We'll make this easy becauseI'm not going to go back too far.
I'm gonna go back about five tenminutes. Yeah, we'll say Dennis
mentioned during sports that this person usedto own the radio group he worked for,
right like ten years ago. Ithink he said it was yeah,
all right, so about ten yearsago, this person owns the group of
(52:15):
radio stations that Dennis worked for.You know who that is. We'll give
you the prize. One hundred fournine three one double three. Good look,
good luck from Big one hundred. It is nine to fourteen or second
from Aerosmith. It's walked this way. Washington's Classic Rockets Big one hundred.
Let's see if we can get awinner on what did we learn on the
(52:37):
show today? We'll go to thephones. Hi, Big one hundred.
How you doing good? Jackson andCrush. You guys are a bust man.
Listen to you every morning. Awesome, man, we really appreciate that.
What's your name? Matt? Matt? Do you know the answer to
this morning's question? Dennis mentioned thatthis person owned his group of radio stations.
U who is that person? Yeah? It was that horrible little man,
(52:58):
Dan Snier. Nice job, yougot it, man. We're gonna
set you up with Saturana and SteveVie tickets. Thanks, Jocks, and
welcome to town. Dude, you'reup best morning show around here. Man,
I appreciate it. Man, Hey, do me a favor. Keep
listening and spread the word. Wecould use the help. Dude. I've
got you here in the warehouse andStirling with about two hundred people listening to
