Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's now time for kickoff.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
They have done it two out of the last three years.
The Crusaders pour out onto the field. There. That's twenty
twenty four PIAA five A State.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Champions Cruz Sader Football is brought to you by Constellation Energy,
Tim Decker of Green Spring Advisors and Select Physical Therapy. Now,
let's head out to the field with your game announcers
Art Selby, Rob Buglie and Marty Bowman.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
All right, welcome back to rocro Attenzio Stadium here at
Bisi mcdebit High School, Art Selby, Marty booming here with
you JC back in the WHP five et studios. You're
just about ready for football here Bishoon mcdebbit on the
home side here tonight, of course, at rockro Tenzio Stadium,
with the dark blue jerseys, the gold pants and gold helmets.
The Notre Dame look if you will, Mechanicsburg Wildcats on

(00:53):
the far side of the field. They are the visitors tonight,
all decked out in white with red run numbers. They
have the maroon helm that's with the cats on the helmet. Marty.
We're just about ready for football. Obviously, a nice, nice
environment so far, but rain is in the forecast here tonight,
so that may be a factor as we proceed throughout
the night.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Yeah, it's one of those things where you do want
to make it happen early. I mean both sides of
the football. Either school wants to make something happen early.
Mechanicsburg won the toss, elected to receive, and so most
of the time mcdebbit the Firs if they win it,
and so they would have gotten it first anyway. But this,
you know, this way, mechanics is going to get the football.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Since the Midpen Conference began, vision mcdebit is eleven and
zero against Mechanicsburg. There thirteen and one all time. The
only victory by Mechanicsburg way back in nineteen thirty six,
Mechanicsburg defeated mcdebit twelve to nothing. All Right, we're just
about ready to get going here. Brella will kick off
towards the Dairy Street end of the field to Mechanicsburg,

(02:00):
and it looks like JJ gold is back deep for
the Wildcats. And here's the kickoff. This one is a
high deep kick. This one will sell into the end
zine for a touchback and Drilla doing what he does.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Yeah, that is such a big weapon, absolutely big weapon.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Art.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
I think keys for mcdebitt is too well, you want
to say get off early.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
That's something that you think about all the time. But
defensively here as we're gonna see first, I think they
have to control Noah Apple.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
He can run the football, has a decent arm too,
So you know, if you blitch, you gotta blitz the gaps.
You gotta stay smart.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
You heard coach Lector say you gotta stay true to
the gaps in that. So you don't want him to
get comfortable or be comfortable back there at all.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Okay, here come the Wildcats three wide receivers to the
near side. One of the farm debit shows blitz and
the Wildcats will try and run this on the left side,
and there's nothing there at all. As mcdebit shuts that
thing down quickly, Marty, that.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Was QB You no Apple, just a keeper there. He
got a yard. So it'll be second and nine.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
So yeah, they do give me the yard. So second
and nine. As the Wildcats and mechanics Burg drive towards
the Union deposit end of the field. Here Rocker Attenzio Stadium.
Nice crowd for this playoff game, obviously, this District three
quarter final quarterback Apple surveys at McDevitt defense. He's got
one back in the backfield. Now they'll bring a man

(03:27):
in motion from the far side to the near apples
pass to the outside. This one is caught and they
will take this one up to about the twenty seven
yard line. That was Dawson on the reception there for
the Wildcats. Marty.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
Yeah, Dawson had to go up and get that out,
but it was high. Maybe fortunate for victvit it was,
but he broke the initial tackle.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Art tackles we see a lot this year, so important.
You've got to make that initial tackle.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
You make the receiver freeze, you don't make the first move,
and then when he makes it, then you know you're crushing. Yeah,
they can't let those tacks go awry.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Power eye formation on third and two, and now somebody jumps,
we'll see what they call it. I think that'll be
a false start against Mechanicsburg and that is the call.
So third and two becomes third and seven.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Block Cup was somewhere on the right side of the
line where and mcdebitt showed the blitz and when they
did that got one of the offensive linemen to come
out of his stance early.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
So instead of a third and three, now they got
a third and eighth, maybe a short eight.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
All right, here come the Wildcats. They break huddle, two
wide outs to each side of the field, one back
in the backfield with quarterback Noah Apple waits to snap
the bring a man in motion from the near side
of the far Apple will fire one of the outside
and overthrows his receiver out here, had him open, but
he just overthrew de Luca out here on the near side.
I'm not sure if de Luca would have been able

(04:55):
to get any yards anyway, there was mcdevion defender in
the area. Mardy.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Yeah, Apple kind of rush statt art that he had
the receiver open out here, and he just rushed at
it and threw it high and out of bounds.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
So Ish Palmer will go back deep for Bishop mcdebitt
standing out about his forty five yard line.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
Half of this punt from this art it's like a
short drop, but that's something you have to be careful of.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
And he does the quick kick. Ish is going to
let this one bounce. Now he'll field it at the
forty three. He's got the fifty tries to come to
the near side, and its tackled down at about the
forty nine yard line, but on all reed field position
for Bishop mcdebit to start their first drive of the night, Marty.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Yeah, good, start to get it in the fifty yard line.
In fact, the far side of Fishers marking that little
bit inside of fifty. So they will actually take this
first possession on the plus side of the fifty yard line.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
So here come the Crusader's offense onto the field. Good
to see John take quick back how down the field
for Bishop mcdebbitt, as he's been out the last couple
of weeks, he'll line up out here on the near
side out here with Gage Ruth. It's like Jack Dawson
in there in the backfield, and they will hand this
one off to Swoop swoops up the middle. He's got

(06:12):
some thirty five inside the thirty. He gets all the
way down to the twenty eight yard line. Game of
about twenty one by Nazir Jones Davis.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Big hold there, went right up off the left guard
in the center and uh picked up the twenty one
As you said, Art Nick gain for Bishop mcdebit.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
On that first down.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Swoops had a big game last year against these guys,
twenty rushes one hundred and thirty eight yards in the
win over at Mechanicsburg. Two white outs to the near
side for Bishop mcdbbit. Holton Junior out on the far side.
Sebastian waits a snap and they'll hand this one off again,
this time up to about the twenty two yard line,

(06:59):
so they pick up and.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Swoops with a pick up there.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
So I'll be second down and five for Bishop mcdebit.
Just getting started here, Rocker Attenzio Stadium, Nine and a
half minutes left to play, first quarter, no scoring the game,
mcdebit with its opening drive. Now, Swoops is gonna limp
off to the sideline here and LaRue Junior will check
in for Bishop mcdebitt.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
Not good for this to see you there were I
think or Swoops coming off like that. I think he
got his ankle pooled. So I'm hoping it's not anything
more than just a stretch that.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
He can work that out, and that's when the LaRue.
LaRue has some running room up the middle. Inside the
ten down to the eighth game of about fourteen and
the first and goal Bishop mcdebitt.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
The rude just had a big hole there and didn't
miss it.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
The first and goal from the eighth for Bishop mcdebitt.
Here come the Crusaders. Two white outs to the near side,
one of the far that's Holton Junior. It's like Louis
in the backfield and Jack Dawson in there. They'll give
this one. The tries to turn it up the middle,
cuts to the right and it's hitting the backfield and
Aldie flags come flying in over on the fire side

(08:21):
as well.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
Yeah, it was in the area of a hole. They're
asking the other side whether they want to.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Decline it or take it.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Mc deevil will bring Maurice Barnes into the game now.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
And they will take the penalty.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Ish Palmer checks in for Bishop mcdebbitt. Jack Dawson will
come to the sideline.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
Art LaRue never able to get startled on that whatsoever.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
It seemed like the timing was entrely haend off between
Sebastian Williams and.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
He's just trying to make a play and unfortunately the
mechanics Burgs defense made the play and hit him back
in the backfield. So Crusaders come of two white outs
to the near side and two to the far and
they'll bring a man in motion. Sebastian back to pass
fires one of the outside. This is complete to John
Tay quick inside the ten, inside the five, and John

(09:21):
Tay welcome back. Gets down to about the three yard line.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
In the market to four arts, so we'll give him
a gain to fourteen.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
It is good seeing zero back on the field out
there for Bishop mcdebitt, and.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
He's gonna take a little while Art to be able
to get into, you know, his normal plane shape.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
So second and goal from the four for Bishop mcdebit.
Maurice Barnes in there running back for the Crusaders. Holton
is the white out to the near side and they
will hand this one off the Barnes. Barnes pushes his
way up the middle, still fighting, fighting, and he is
there and for Bishop mcdebit touchdown four yards and the
Crusaders go up six nothing with ato three left to play.

(10:07):
Here in the first quarter.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
Larnes was hit almost immediately Art and he just kept
driving the legs, kept pushing the pile and would not
stop until he got in the end zone.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
One thing fans. Uh, we'll see.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
A lot of tonight, bart on the mechanics, Berts on defense,
though only a lot of times just rush three and
they have so many you know, there's like seven in
coverage or you know deep linebackers. It looks like it's
tough for the quarterback to find someone open.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Ryan Hurt the holder for Bishop mcdebit, and Grella's kick
is up and it is good. So ato three left
to play here in the first quarter. It's Bishop mcdebit
seven and Mechanics fort nothing. Let's take a break. You're

This this is Bishop mcdebit football twenty twenty five on
NewsRadio WHB five eighty.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Maurice Barnes with a four yard touchdown run is put
the Crusaders up seven to nothing of were mechanicsburg eight
or three left to play first quarter and Nobrella will
kick off from the New Crusaders going right the left
on the press box side of things here at Rocker
ten Stadium. Two men back deep for the Wildcats and
Grella's kick as a line drive. The bounces and it'll
actually be returned from the five to the ten and

(12:09):
they will bring this one up to about the eighteen
yard line before McDevitt slams them back and now penalty
flag comes flying in way late.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
Good uh good coverage on that.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
Unfortunately, the whistle blew and one of the Crusaders would
not let go and ended up throwing the uh return
man down. And so it's it's you can't do those art,
You just cannot do that. I know you're enthused, and
I know you want to prove yourself. But you just
cannot do that.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
I've been watching too much NFL football because I see
that go left, go Tom and Tom again. So the
ball will come up to the thirty five yard line
as other Wildcats will drive towards the Union deposit end
of the field. Now, two white outs to the foreside,
one of the near no Apple in the shotgun formation,
with one back in the backfield. Apple fakes the handoff.

(13:06):
Hell fire went quickly to the outside and this is incomplete.
Ball was a little bit too high. I think that
was Smith out there on the coverage for Bishop mcdebitt.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
Yeah, killing Smith out there was ready. If it was complete,
the receiver would have got hit immediately.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Yeah, he would have took a shot for sure. So
it just falls harmlessly as the ground. New damage done.
Second down and ten for the Wildcats from the thirty
five yard line, seven fifty one left to play. First quarter.
Mcdebit's up seven zip. The Luca goes out and lines up.
Now it looks like mechanicsburg fall started again, and indeed

(13:47):
that's the call.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
Alred a really good crowd for this second round action year,
especially with rain in the forecast.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
And I walked in here tonight, NFL like we hadn't.
I know, we did the game here two weeks ago,
but mcdebit hadn't played here for three weeks before that,
so it's kind of like odd to actually have a
game here.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
Yeah, yeah, you're absolutely right.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Now the officials blow the whistle. There's something here now
they blow play active again. So second down and fifteen
from the thirty and Apple will hand this one off.
And mcdebitt's in there, and a nice job in there
by Miller to pick up a few. Looked like he

(14:35):
was initially stopped. He got a couple, and that'll make
it third down and about twelve for the Wildcat.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
We'll get three and called third and twelve. Big play
here for mcganningsburg. They want to get some kind of
drive on, big play for the mcdebit defense, get off
the field and get the offense back one here again.
What did doctor ordered art early on was a good
field position for Bishop Debit.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
They used the running game.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
They eight o'clock and they scored a touchdown, and talking
with coach Wector, I'm switch exactly how he would draw
it up.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Three White adds to the near side for Mechanicsburg. Debit
shows Blitzapple's gonna fire a fade to the outside and
they're gonna call a flag out there. On vision mcdebit,
the ball went too far down the field, tried to
hit Drake Dawson. Then I guess they're going to say
there was contact there.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
There was contact.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
I couldn't tell what came first, the contact or the fall.
But uh, I actually can't describe it because I looked
up and I.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
Saw the receiver going down. Defender had good position on him,
but he might have already got the hold in here.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
So that keeps Mechanicsburg's drive it alive and the ball
will come out to the forty eight yard line.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
All right, those are the ones that kill you. Third down,
you're gonna get off the field. It's not even close
to to be a catch.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, it hurts. So we'll see if mcdebit's defense can
regroup get a stop. Here falls to forty eight again.
Wildcats driving towards the Union deposit end of the field
here at Rocker Rotenzio Stadium. They'll bring them in in motion.
That's Dawson again, and they hand us from the miller

(16:23):
to the outside and mcdebit gets in there and knocks
them in the backfield for about a yard loss.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
Zach Brown with a nice job of getting in there,
getting underneath.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
I'm making to tackle.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
So they will say a loss of one. It'll be
second and eleven back in the forty seven yard line
debit with their dark blue jerseys, tonight gold pants, gold helmets,
Wildcats and Mechanicsburg all white with the maroon numbers and
the maroon helmets debit again. Show's Blitz and this time

(16:58):
they'll do a wildcat for mation up the middle. That's
Dawson and he runs for a first down.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
Down Apple picks up thirteen for the Wildcats. Just went
off the left side art and didn't have a lot
of space out there. He really did a lot of
that on his own. And he's as I saw last week,
he is tough to bring down.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
That was actually Drake Drake Dawson there and there was
a wildcat they went with on that one.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
Hi'm sorry, folks.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
The balls at the forty one yard line of vision mcdebit,
first down and ten two white outs here to the
near side for Mechanicsburg and a power eye formation mind
Apple and they will run it again up the middle,
and this time mcdebit defends it well, as Rhys Miller
might have got a half yard at the most, and
it'll be second down, and we'll be generous and called

(17:53):
second and nine.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
Jakai and their Jokai logan in there for Bishop mcdebit
for holding for one yard game Barnes also helping out.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Yeah, they gave him the full yard on that one
and put her up at the forty second and nine
for Mechanicsburg. Gold jogged off to the far side of
the field. Now they bring a receiver back on the
field over on the forest side at the last minute,
which Crumble goes over to cover. De Luca goes in
motion from the near side to the far and they'll

(18:28):
give it the Miller tries to turn the corner and
Bishop mcdebit defends it pretty well. They've picked up a
couple with the lavvy third down in about six.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
Good job out there, Tyler Reinhart. One of the blue shirts.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
In there, falls at the thirty seven yard line, So
third and six for Mechanicsburg, and I.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Think it's safe to say that we're four down territory
here in.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
A game like this, you would certainly think so we
don't know that, we're not really knowledgeable of their field
goal kicker, so they might have someone who can boom
a fifty yarder. Rhys Miller goes out and lines up
as a wide receiver on the far side, and they're
going to try the wildcat again with de Luca. Tries
to cut out to the near side, gets inside to

(19:13):
thirty down to the twenty six and has another first
down for Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
That was Dawson there art ok and picks up a
first down.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
It was bottled up inside debit did not contain the outside,
and Dawson's realized it slid outside able to pick up
a first down.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
So balls at the twenty eight yard line of Bisha mcdebit.
And you know now that penalty, I mean, you just
see how important it was is Mechanics werets driven down
into the twenty eight yard line of Bisha mcdebit. JJ
Gold goes out on the fore side, power for running
formation for Mechanicsburg and they powered up the middle of
Colin Stare and he gets all the way down to

(19:59):
the twenty and he's a loaded the top. You can
see that.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Yeah, there picks up eight. He is a lineman converted, well,
it does both.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
He plays line, he also plays fullback and he's a
load to hand.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
He's a good runner.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
So he got eight at second and two at mcdebit.
Twenty three, twenty left to play here in the first quarter,
Crusaders up seven dip power formation balls on.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
The ground.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
And I think the Cruisiers recovered it, and they did.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Tyler Reinhart comes up with it.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
And a huge break for Bishop mcdebbit party.

Speaker 5 (20:39):
And the funny thing when the ball was on the ground,
it was right in front of the quarterback, right in
front of mcdebit lineman. The ball ended up going nine
yards downfield. Somebody I'm thinking had to kick it and
that put it downfield.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
A big break by the Cruse for the Crusaders.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Yeah, a huge break. I mean mcdebit had the penalty there.
Mechanicsburg all the momentum down the field. They bring in
the big full back calling Stare, which he's frightening to
watch run the ball and then Mechanicsburg puts the ball
on the ground. So first and ten mcdebitt at the
thirteen yard line as the Crusaders now will drive towards
the Dairy Street end of the field. Two white outs

(21:17):
on the near side, one to the far and they
give this one to LaRue Junior takes it to the outside,
and obviously that means us we're not feeling the best here.
I would take a swoops to normally start this drive.
Jack Dawson checks in form mcdebit. Liam Fuller checks out.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
I watched the whole defensive series from mcdebitt.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Swoops just down here running on the sideline. He's definitely
favoring the one leg slightly so.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Not ready to win.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Second and eight from the fifteen and mcdeval will run
this one again up the middle and they take this
one up to about the twenty yard line. That's LaRue
Junior gets five and mcdebit's gonna have a thirty three.
I'll bring Maurice Barnes in for the next run. Luke

(22:13):
on the helped out the tackle there for the Wildcats.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
A nice job there, coming up fast to shut that
hole down.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Jack Dawson now checks out for Bishop mcdebit as Liam
Fuller comes back in clay clock down the twelve here
for Bishoon mcdebit. Gage Ruth had here in the near
side along with John take Quick Holton Junior out on
the far side. Sebastian back to pass fires one of
the outside and this one's complete for a first down

(22:44):
up to about the thirty yard line at John take Quick.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Nice job there by Sebastian. Nice pattern by John take Quick,
just sort of an arrow route to the sideline.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
And Sebastian threw it before the break. The ball was.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
There, even though Johnson is not one hundred percent. You know,
Sebastian love seeing number zero back on the field out there,
as those guys have played too much football together. And
now officials with a whistle here, Okay, now they're gonna
let him play again. Gage Roof goes out on the

(23:19):
fore side.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
Single coverage out there. You might want to watch that
art on Gage Ruth.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Absolutely, Zach Brown goes in motion. They'll pitch us went
in the backfield to Barnes and Barnes only gets a yard.
It's a nice tackle out there for Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Yeah, that was a nice job Zelly there for uh
for Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
So it'll be second and nine for Bishop mcdebit at
the thirty one, Zach Brown and Liam Fuller check out
for Bishop mcdebitt. Holton Junior out on the far side.
Sebastian awaits the snat and they fake the hand off

(24:10):
the fire when quickly to Ish Palmer, Ish turns the corner.
He's got the forty five, He's got the fifty and
barrels his way down to the forty seven yard line
of Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Pick up at twenty two.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
In that pass, it shows that speed and just get
it out quick to him and if he has any
blocking at all, he's kind of taking down the field.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
And hey, he did a good job.

Speaker 5 (24:33):
He looked like a second he wanted to break it inside.
Kind of glad he didn't.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
I thought the most he was gonna get would be
out there, and he did so. Nice job. After the
catch by Ish.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Palmer first intended to forty seven quick and Ruth's out
on the fore side, it's like Holton Junior on the
near side. Sebastian will hand this one off again and
that is LaRue Junior inside the already down to the
thirty eight yard line, and is that mcdebit running game

(25:07):
getting a job done here in the first quarter, Marty.

Speaker 5 (25:09):
Yeah, LaRue with a nice job there following the blocking,
not trying to do too much, picks up eight.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
And game clock is down to six. So that's probably
going to end the first quarter here and it is
so after one quarter of play here at Rocker Rotenzio
Stadium in this District three five eight quarterfinal game, it's
Bisho mcdebit seven and mechanics fort nothing. You're listening to

Thanks for listening to Bishop mcdebit football. Now back to
the field, all.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Right, welcome back to Rocker Attendzie Stadium here at Vision
mcdevit High School art selby Marty Boomans here with you.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
Mark comes. Now, do you want to take a shot
here at second two? I mean, I'm sure Wector's happy
with the way it is, but you know you wouldn't
mind getting a second score up there in a hurry.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Yeah, I'd like to see if age can beat this
man out here on the on the on the iner side.
Second and one. Sebastian shotgun. Jack Dawson goes in motion
and they there's a mix up in communication there. Sebastian.
It looked like he was going to hand the ball
off and then he kept it ran forward and now
penalty flag comes flying. And the other good news is
Swoops is running back onto the field for Bishop mcdebitt.

(27:25):
So we'll see what they're gonna call here personal foul
based mass mechanics Burg. So lots of good news on that,
but Marty the mcdebit will get a penalty to go
their way and swoops comes back onto the field. Eleven
fifty four left to play first half. Mick Debit up

(27:46):
seven to nothing over Mechanicsburg. This district three to five
eight quarterfinal matchup.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
Yah, mcdbit now gets to break there art that you know,
see if they can take advantage of that penalty. Mechanics
look like they were taking advantage of it until they
fumbled deep in mcdebit's territory.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
John te Quick is gonna check out here for Bishop
mcdebitt on the near side. They have swoops in here
now in the backfield.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
Going it's too tight end here actually, Zach Brown is gonna.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
Kind of line up on a wing passion that waits
a snap. Liam goes in motion. They give it the swoop,
swoops up the middle, swoops power running inside the ten.
The only flag comes flying in.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
That's in the holding your art. Unfortunately for Bision mcdaviott.
We shall see.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
See if they call holding or if there was something
else that happened in there. Yeah, that's holding mcdebbit.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
He had picked up at first down. He picked up eleven.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Swoops is just such a powerful runner. It doesn't matter
if you hold or not. He's gonna get some yards.
But unfortunately on that when it cost mcdebbit. There as
it comes back to the twenty four that's where they
spot it. Eleven twenty six left to play first half,

(29:11):
so I'll mak it first and twelve for mcdebitt. I
don't see a lot of first and twelve sweep still
in the backfield for vision mcdebitt, Zach Brown goes out
lines up on the end there for the Crusaders. Spashion
waits to snap back to pass. Fires went over the middle,

(29:33):
looking in the area of Liam Fuller the tight end,
and just it was covered well by mechanicsburg Nothing there.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
Was overthrown a bit, but the only one that had
a shot at it was Fuller, so there was no
chance of being picked off there.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Second and twelve from the twenty four yard line. Now
for mcdebitt, eleven nine left to play first half. Here
again swoop set up in the backfield. Jack Dawson to
the right of Sebastian, Zach Brown to the left, and
one wide receiver to each side of the field. They
run swoop swoops up the middle and swoops. This time

(30:13):
they do a better job of taking them down at
about the seventeen yard line. Now, penalty flag comes flying
in personal foul again against Bishop mcdebitt.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
Yeah, there was a little extracurricular and uh there was
some drawling going on, and uh the ref appeared to
point to one of the crusaders who's coming off the
field now.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
So Dawson and Zach Brown come off the field. John
Tate quick comes back in for Bishop mcdebbitt.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
I saw Dawson kind of celebrating, and then the flag
came out.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Clots eleven O one left to play first half. Mcdebit
up seven nothing.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
Apart from the looks of the coaching staff, I definitely
believe it was Jack Dawson.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
So the balls at the thirty three yard line now
and time, third down and twenty four, I think is
what it is for McDevitt. Sebastian back to pass fires
one of the outside. This one is complete and slipping
and falling down is Ish Palmer at the twenty five

(31:32):
yard line. So they get eight. But Ish might have
had a lot more if he he didn't go down there.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
Yeah, I believe he would have had a lot more.
He's so deadly with that.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
So Grella will come on and attempt a field goal.
Here Marty of forty two yards, Ryan Hurt the holder.
We know Grella can make this. Here we go, snaps

(32:06):
down to kick. It is up, It's long enough and
it is good. Forty two yard bilbow by aiding Gorilla.
What's bish? Mcdebbit up ten and nothing? Ten o five
left to play in the first half. We'll take a break.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Aiden Grella with a forty two yard field goals put
Bush mcdebit up ten to nothing with ten oh five
left to play in the first day, haf you're at
Rock Rotenzio Stadium.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Already had a lot more distance in the forty two.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
However, it was fading fast to the left, so yeah,
good thing it got in with that inside that left upright.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
So Grella will now kick off towards the Union deposit
end of the field here at Rock Rotenzio Stadium. Two
men backed deep from Mechanicsburg bunched up and here is
the kickoff by Grella again. This one is short. It'll
be returned from the five up to the ten and

(33:43):
Gold takes it to the outside. It will finally be
taken down around the sixteen yard line. Mcdevin again with
good special teams coverage and that's been a common theme this.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Year, Marty, eh for sure for short.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
So Mechanicsburg we'll take over here now trailing ten to nothing,
nine to fifty six left to play. First half, ball
spotted on the sixteen yard line as they will drive
towards the Dairy Street end of things here at Rocker
Ortenzee Stadium.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
Let's see if they want to take a shot deep
your heart or maybe even something over in the middle.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
We have not seen that yet.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
I think they'll have one wide out to each side
of the field here, one back in the backfield back
there with a quarterback Noah Apple. Play clock is down
to twelve. Man comes onto the field late here for
Mechanicsburg and he'll line up as a wide out here
on the near side. Despiness is the wide out that
came running in mcdevid shire's blitz. Apple's gonna keep it himself,

(34:44):
takes it to the outside and mcdeviitt runs am out
of bounds over there. Not much if anything.

Speaker 5 (34:50):
Yeah, I think you might have lost one or two.
See where they spotted he lost one on that.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
See, I'll bring it back to the fifteen. It'll be
second and eleven for the Wildcats.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
And now they're gonna market right after the first down markers,
so second and ten. I saw them back a little
bit there art and then they moved it up.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
But yeah, they're repped on the near side down here
was back Wildcats break huddle now they have one white
out here in the near side, power running formation behind Apple.
They'll bring that man in motion Foods and they'll hand
this one off to the near side, and a good

(35:31):
run for Mechanicsburg up to about the twenty four yard line.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Have very good rent game of eight for the Wildcats.

Speaker 5 (35:39):
Makes a short third and two.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
That was Miller for the Wildcats on the run. R J.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Duffy in there for the Crusaders. Will Yoast.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
Comes in as a d n to Ron Dennis out
for the Crusaders. Staders needing a big play here on
a third and ray third and two.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
I'll hand this one off up the middle and Mechanicsburg
is going to get the first down this time, as
I think that was Reech. Miller takes it up to
the twenty eight, gets about three or four and a
first down for Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
Chris Thompson on a tackle for Bision mcdebit along with
Maurice Barnes Junior.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
So the quack whines here. Nine oh five left to play,
first staff first down in ten for the Wildcats. Fus
goes out on the foreside as a wide out for
the Wildcats and Mechanicsburg. They have a power running formation
in the backfield. Looks like Colin Stare is in there.
They'll give this one this time though to Reeche Miller
and mcdebit defends it well.

Speaker 5 (36:43):
Cha Kai Logan in there, just wrestled him down to
the ground.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
So not much there for the Wildcats. Debit up ten
nothing here Maurice Burns with a four yard touchdown run
to put the Crusaders up early and then a forty
two yard field will by Aiden Gorilla Mayke to score
ten to nothing. Bisha mcdebit and starting to see some
umbrellas break out here at Rocker attend to you stadium,

(37:14):
and now this time Mechanicsburg will try and run it
up the middle and Bish mcdebits ready for at that
time is they're all over the running back that time.

Speaker 7 (37:28):
R J.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Duffy in there on the tackle for Bishop mcdebitt. So
it'll be third and eleven for mechanics per Now really
big play here. Now you've down the seven to fifty
left to play in the first half. Mcdebit's up ten
to nothing. They get the ball back here, they can
make this a three score game. Wildcats have two white

(37:50):
outs to the near side and two to the far
one back in the backfield with Apple. They'll bring a
man in motion Apple back to pass. Here comes a
sure Apple running for his life and a fire one
down the field. And this one is incomplete. And the
mcdebit defense brought the pressure that Tom mardy.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
They did force him to throw it on the run
went into the ground. So it is a fourth down
and eleven for the Wildcats. Let's see if Apple does
the kick from that short punt formation.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Is Palmer will go back deep for Bishop mcdebitt standing
around his forty five yard line box stop. Seven twenty
five left to play. First half here at Rocker Asensio Stadium.
It's a District three five a quarter final click. There
was a penalty shift on that.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
Yeah, it was declined by mcdebitt. After the incomplete.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
Pass, Ish will go back and wait for Apple's punt.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
Here's what you got to think about ball possession security arc. Yeah,
you know it's going to be a wet ball now
for the rest.

Speaker 8 (38:59):
Of the night.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Apple standing at his twenty and now somebody jumped. We'll
see who they're gonna call it on. Either way, it's
st fourth down and it's not gonna be on mechanics Burg.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
Another illegal procedure.

Speaker 5 (39:16):
I saw one of the McDavid players take the step across,
but he saw a movement first.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
So so that'll come back to the twenty two yard
line and make it fourth down in sixteen for Mechanicsburg.
Apple will have to pump this thing again.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
Now.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Ish moves up a couple of steps, standing at his
forty eight. Apple does get rid of this. When it's
a high punt, Ish goes back, catches it at the
thirty six. Ish puts a couple moves on the Special
team's defenders still running, and finally he tackled down at
the forty nine yard line.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
They give me a little progress here heart.

Speaker 5 (40:00):
Oh, so the part the near side ref has it
over here at the fifty and it should be his call.

Speaker 4 (40:06):
That's where he went down.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
A smooth return. I'll call it by Ash Palmer at
that time, as he had to go back and catch that.
When I had to go back about ten yards from
Rave's position to catch it, did a nice job and
then initially put a couple moves on the Special Team's
defenders coming in attack one.

Speaker 5 (40:26):
We got about twelve or fifteen I think when I return, Art,
so mcdebitt. Once again, they started another drive right near
right after fifty. Those are the football in the fifty
yard line. The Zira Davis is in.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Jack Dawson in there in the backfield as well. They
give it to Swoops and this time the Cannics Burt
bottles him up as he yet for Bishop mcdebbit.

Speaker 5 (40:52):
Davis tried to jump there and try to get find
some open territory, but it wasn't there. Good job by
that front seven of Mechanicsburg of being there. They're using
a four to three right now, and so uh, good
stop for Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
John take quick is out in the forest side. It's
a power eye formation for Bishop mcdevon on second and
one Sebastian back to pass as time fires one down
the field and this one is going to be intercepted,
but dropped inside the five as a gold went up
to catch it. Now of course penalty flag comes flying in.

(41:36):
Liam Fuller not happy with what transpired inside the five.

Speaker 4 (41:41):
Well excheck the call went on him, Art, I just
don't understand the plays over The play's long been debt.
Why are you even engaging at all? Whether he sits
up to you.

Speaker 5 (41:53):
You're saying, why even engage. It's it's something I just
don't understand. Let's see if it's going to be it
is Kains mcdevin.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
So unsportsmanlike conduct vision mcdebit, and the penalty is starting
to add up a bit here against mcdebit. A lot
of them personal fouls or unsportsmanlike conducts, and that makes
it suddenly just like that, it's third and twenty four
for mcdebit back at the thirty six, and unless.

Speaker 5 (42:27):
They have a Freddie Mitchell passing their play here, they're
going to be giving the ball up to mechanics Burg.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
If there's an offense in high school football, I believe
they can pick up that first down it's Mcdebit'll.

Speaker 5 (42:39):
See it would be sebastian needing the time to throw
the ball downfield.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
Three white outs to the far side from mcdebit. Here
comes a pressure. They do a screen pass and mechanics
Burg defends it well because they take the running back
down immediately over there. I think that pass was two
U swoops and I think landon End and Dale or
landing Yale.

Speaker 4 (43:03):
Lots of UH eight on that.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
So again the penalty huge there, it's up bish and mcdebbit.
Instead of third and nine became third and twenty four
and kept Mechanicsburg in the game. There clock ticks five
forty eight left to play. Now ref stop it again
and another penalty against Bisha mcdebit. Plodies just continue to

(43:40):
be committed.

Speaker 5 (43:41):
Here by mcdebit, what you're really doing is shortening this
field up art for uh bigtime.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
It's a grella stand all the way back to Spurg ten. Now.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
Yeah, the Mechanicsburg deep man, I guess you're respecting that
field goal kicker.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
Fourth and thirty seven. They blocked the punt now and
Mechanicsburg is going to recover it for a touchdown. And
that's how things change that quickly with all those penalties.

Speaker 4 (44:13):
Are you kind of saw when they previous snap that
they called the obligical procedure, Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 5 (44:20):
Was coming and they were coming hard. There were three
White churchs in there. Almost any one of the three
could have could have blocked it.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
And the mcdebit special teams, who have done such a
good job of a year, this time they give up
a block punt for a touchdown. Drake Dawson in there.
So it's ten to six mcdebit, just like that, with
five thirty four left to play. First half minute on

(44:48):
to attempt the extra point and the kick is up
and it is good. So five thirty four left the
play now first and half. Just like that, Debit's ten tough.
The leads Trimm ten to seven. Take a break. You're

High school football at its best.

Speaker 3 (45:38):
This is Fisher mcdebit football on news radio WHP five
eight and iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
All right, welcome back to Racer Attendzie Stadium. Vish mcdebit
up ten to seven after the punt is blocked for
a mechanics per touchdown, you're gonna.

Speaker 5 (45:53):
Find out whether Mechanics for is going to kick to
the DMP for mcdebit, kick it short, squibt.

Speaker 4 (46:00):
We'll see what they choose to do here.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
They will kick it towards the Dairy Street end of things. Here,
debit's lead trim to ten seven and a huge momentum
swing there, got the filling mcdebit might be able to
go up seventeen zip in this game. And then just
penalty after penalty after penalty, and then finally a punt block.

Speaker 4 (46:24):
And see if mccannicksburg is going to gamble on the one.

Speaker 2 (46:27):
Side and they kick it short, mcdebbit is able to
recover it. It's Jack Dawson turns the corner and Jack
takes it all the way down to the forty yard
line of mechanics Berg.

Speaker 4 (46:38):
Jack ed aws with a nice job. He went up
high to get it and just went to the outside.

Speaker 5 (46:43):
Where the opening was and able to pick up some
great guards for bish mcdebitt put him in a really
good field position.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
Jack shoots some speed on that one him around the
corner there and did a nice job to return that
when they spotted at the forty two but excellent field
position and agreed Gage Ruth and Ish Palmer out on
the far side, Holden Junior on the near side. Two
backs in the backfield surrounding Sebastian Williams now Larugo's in motion.

(47:18):
They fake the hand off fire one of the outside
to LaRue has it around the forty, turns the corner
and finally pushed out of bounds around the thirty three
yard line. A lot of lad pushing and shoving over
on the far side allowed this.

Speaker 5 (47:32):
Time, and you saw gage Ruth throw his hands up
to make sure they didn't get the called for a
holding after he was signed up with one of the
receiver or defensive backs.

Speaker 2 (47:49):
Pall is spotted and they're going to spot it at
the thirty three yard line, so it should be second
and one for vision McDevitt. Dawson back into the game
for mcdebitt, LaRue Junior out, ther Sader's still looking over
at the near side. Now Holden Junior out on the

(48:14):
far side for vision mcdebbitt to be gauge Ruth on
the near side here. Maybe that's Hish Palmer there as well,
I think they have Swoops in the backfield for Bison. Mcdebitt.
On second down and one from the thirty three, Dawson
goes in motion and they will give this one off
to Swoop. Swoops tries to turn the corner and Mechanicsburg

(48:34):
strings it out. Well, see where they spotted spotted at
the thirty four. So if that's the case, that's a
yard boss would be third and two for Bishop mcdebit.

(48:57):
Clock stops for five thirteen left to play in his
first half. Here come the Crusaders, two white outs to
the near side. They'll hand this one off to Swoops
and Swoops up the middle as the first down down
to the twenty eight yard line. The first down Bishop mcdebit.

Speaker 4 (49:19):
Yeah, just off the left guard and he picks up.
They're gonna give him six. I think Mark A twenty eight.

Speaker 2 (49:30):
Yale was down out there for the Wildcats momentarily, but
he is able to get up and slowly jog off
to the far side. Five or seven left to play
here in the first half. Mcdebbit up ten to seven.
Here come the Crusaders back onto the field. Holton Junior

(49:53):
out on the far side for Bishop mcdebitt. Two white
outs on the near side, swoops in the backfield for
Bish mcdebitt. Sebastian, we'll give this one the swoops again.
Swoops looks for some running room and not much there
as Mechanicsburg gets in there and holds them to a
one yard game. Now Maurice Barnes is going to check

(50:17):
in for Bishop mcdebitt.

Speaker 5 (50:20):
Three of the last four carries now by swoops are one,
minus one and one as opposed to early on when
the first three were twenty one to five and eight.
So Mechanicsburg upfront definitely got a nice job of slowing
down this mcdebit offense.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
Second and nine from the twenty seven gage ruth out
on the far side for Bishop mcdbbitt, Holton Junior on
the near side. Sebastian waits the snap and now they will.
Sebastian will keep it himself. Takes it up the middle
inside the twenty, gets down to the nineteen, gain a

(50:58):
eight and it'll be third and one one for Bishop mcdebitt.

Speaker 5 (51:03):
Good call there by, uh Bish mcdebitt coaching staff on
that one.

Speaker 4 (51:08):
Faked the little tap pass and Sebastian just.

Speaker 5 (51:11):
Runs up the middle, gives him a third down to one,
and I really do believe Art mcdebit and no hurry here.

Speaker 2 (51:20):
Third down and one for the Crusaders at the nineteen
yard line. Three and a half minutes left to play.
First half. Mcdebit up ten to seven, power eye formation.
It's like they have Maurice Barnes in there. They'll give
it to Barnes up the middle. He's inside to ten
and dives down to the five. It'll be first down
and goal. Bishop mcdebit.

Speaker 4 (51:40):
Just see where they want. They are marking it right
about the five.

Speaker 2 (51:45):
They start to clock again. Three p fifteen left to
play first half. Say there's up ten to seven and
Maurice Barnes will stay in there along with Jack Dawson
in the power eye formation, bind Sebastian Williams Sebastian under center.
We give it to Barns. Barnes turns around the corner

(52:06):
and gets real close to the end zone, got inside
to one. I think so mcdebit that close to another
touchdown to forty two left to play here, first half.
Debit up ten to seven, same formation, one wide receiver

(52:27):
out on the near side, power eye formation with Jack
Dawson in there. Sebastian hands it off to Barnes and
Barnes runs it into the end zone. We're a Bish
mcdebit touchdown and of two twenty six left to play
here in the first half, the Crusaders go up sixteen
to seven over mechanics Burg.

Speaker 4 (52:46):
I actually a little surprise there, al right. They will
have two almost two and a half minutes off.

Speaker 5 (52:51):
Mechanic expert will want to get the ball back, but
I think I gotta use the timeout or two there
to get my offense, you know, a chance to maybe
you know, drive down the field.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
And Grella on to attempt the extra point. Ryan Heart
the holder for Bish mcdebbitt, and the kick is up
and it is good. So two twenty six left to play.
First half. Mcdebit Goo's up seventeen to seven over mechanics Burg.
Will take a break. You're listening to Bish mcdebit football

Thanks for listening to Bishop mcdebit football.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
Now back to the field, Brys Barnes Junior second touchdown
run of the night has put Bish mcdevid up seventeen
to seven, two twenty six left to play here first half.
Now Grella will kick off towards the Union deposit end
of the field here now and we'll see what transpires

(54:21):
in this really important last two twenty six of the
first half. Grella lines up to kick off, two men
back deep once again for the Wildcats. Man, we're just
about ready to get rolling here and here's Grella's kick.

(54:42):
It's a high kick and this one will be caught
in the end zone for a touchback. Just right on
the edge of it, Marty, Yeah, right on.

Speaker 5 (54:49):
The edge glad to see that he needed all that.
I'm glad to see that no chance for a return.

Speaker 2 (54:56):
So Mechanicsburg will start at the twenty and drive towards
the Deer Street end of the field here.

Speaker 5 (55:03):
So mcdebit, I'm thinking, aren't they use their timeouts in
respect to what mchinnic swip does on maybe the first
two plays here? You know, if they don't gain anything
on first and second out or small gains and they
have a third long, then I look.

Speaker 4 (55:18):
For mcdebit to use your timeout.

Speaker 2 (55:21):
So Mechanicsburg gets that touchdown Marty on the block punt
and they gamble and go for the short kickoff there,
which Jack Dawson runs back to the forty and mcdebit
capitalizes on it to go up seventeen seven. Now two
twenty six left the play. First half. Two wide outs
to the near side, and they're going to fire one
down the field. Dawson fires it and this one is

(55:43):
caught at the forty three yard line.

Speaker 4 (55:49):
Noah Apple with uh.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
It was actually they had Dawson in there, Yeah, throwing
that one. It was the regular quarterback.

Speaker 5 (55:58):
Well, perfect pass is a Dawson our Apple had his
man beat by maybe just a stride.

Speaker 4 (56:06):
It was a perfect pass.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
So two nineteen left to play, first half. Mckennicksburg with
a first down and ten at the forty five yard
line of Bishop mcdebitt will run at this time and
mcdebitt defends this one pretty well. They got about three
down to the forty two all right.

Speaker 5 (56:23):
That answers my question about whether mcdevitch u's in time out.

Speaker 4 (56:26):
Yeah, I think you can kill that idea.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
Marty balls at the forty two yard line as the
Wildcats try to answer. Minute fifty five left, first half
and the clock is ticking, Cold goes out as the
wide out in the far side power eye formation and
they'll run this one up the middle and mcdebit gets
in there. Maurice Barnes with emphasis pushes the running back back.

(56:50):
So they'll have a third down and five coming up.

Speaker 4 (56:54):
Yeah, really not a lot there.

Speaker 5 (56:56):
Mcdebitt needing to make a stand here on third down.
See if Mechanicsburg wants to put it in the air,
whether they might want to run Noah Apple.

Speaker 2 (57:07):
So third down and five for the Wildcats, they'll bring
one wide out to the near side and three to
the far mcdebit shows blitz Apple's going to keep it himself,
and mcdebit gets in there and hits him well short
of the first down. He's able to go to the
right and get two about the thirty nine yard line,
so it'll be fourth down and about four for the Wildcats.

Speaker 4 (57:30):
Yeah, he broke a tackle in the backfield.

Speaker 5 (57:32):
It should have really mcdebit' defender had a chance to
get him in the backfield for a loss.

Speaker 2 (57:40):
Want to mention Marys Barnes was tied for fourth and
tackles in mcdebit history coming into tonight with Kshawn Jenkins,
so he's moved ahead of him now at this point,
Mechanicsburg trying to get Mechanics mcdebit to jump off sides,
and it looks like they'll just call a time out
here with thirty nine seconds left in the first half,

(58:00):
let's take one on ourselves here thirty nine seconds, let's
to play first half and devdup seventeen to seven. You're
listening to Bisha mcdebit football here on news radio WHP
five eighty and iHeartRadio.

Speaker 9 (58:13):

Speaker 1 (58:40):
Untucket shirts designed to be worn untucked.

Speaker 3 (58:42):
Harris Burg's home for the five A state champion, Bishop
mcdebit Crusaders is news Radio WHP five eighty.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
All right, thirty nine, thirty nine seconds. First half, it's
four and three for Mechanicsburg. After mcdebit thirty eight yard line,
Crusader's up seventeen to seven. They'll bring a man in
motion that's gold and they were running this one up
the middle. It looked like mcdebit was gonna trip them
up short and we'll see where they spotted.

Speaker 4 (59:14):
And initial flag like maybe it was of motion, and then.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
I think the penalty have to be against Mechanicsburg and
mcdebit would decline and so he didn't get to the forgetting.
So mcdebit's defense holds apparently, So thirty five seconds left
to play here in the first half, and the ball

(59:43):
is just shy of the thirty five yard line.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
Art that's twice where they ran almost like the man
in motion from this side, like in an umbrella, well
eight yards behind the quarterbeck.

Speaker 5 (59:55):
And both times they committed penalties on it. So they're
not lying up or you know something right there that
they need the MECHANICSPET needs to fix.

Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
So you got three timeouts left, Marty's mcdebit try and
getting field goal range.

Speaker 4 (01:00:12):
You know, I never guess right direct one long shot
downfield and then that's it too. Then I just go
in to halftime.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Two white outs to the near side, one of the
far Sebastian waits a snap, He's gonna throw it, Sebastian
back to pass.

Speaker 5 (01:00:28):
And now, yeah, John Tay really jumped quick on his
pardon to play on his words with the name, but
Johntay was quick off the line on that one.

Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
So a legal procedure against the Crusaders with thirty three
seconds left to play first half, and now I think
mcdebbit maybe just be content to go into the locker room,
but we'll see all the speed out there in the field.
For mcdebbit, I'd still be so tempted to fire one
down the field if you can give Sebastian time to

(01:01:00):
do so. So we'll bring this one back to the
thirty and still further discussion debit up seventeen to seven
thirty three seconds left to play first half.

Speaker 5 (01:01:23):
Yeah, I think they need to put two seconds back
on because that would have been a uh.

Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
Uh no play at all. So yeah, now thirty five
is going back on.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
I actually thought there was more time than that that
I could be wrong. I thought it was at thirty nine,
but no, it was a thirty five gone. Yeah, so
three white outs to the near side again for mcdebitt.
One to the far went back in the backfield with
Sebastian Williams. Sebastian waits, the snap, fakes the handoff, fires
one correctly out here to Ish. It's just got the
forty is still going. Ish cuts back gets up to

(01:02:02):
about the forty nine yard line with twenty six seconds
left to play. As we mentioned, mcdebit's got those three
timeouts now, and they will use one here of twenty
six seconds.

Speaker 4 (01:02:13):
Left thirteen yard gain.

Speaker 2 (01:02:17):

Speaker 5 (01:02:49):
I just got a score ard on a game that
definitely is significant to mcdebit Exeter on top of commag
slogan twenty seven to seven.

Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
Wow. So if Exeter wins that game and mcdebit wins
tonight next week would be another home game for Bishop
mcdeb if.

Speaker 4 (01:03:04):
But yeah, that's where we stand right now.

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
So, twenty six seconds left to play in the first half,
mcdebit up seventeen to seven. Here over Mechanics Burgbitt was
still two timeouts left. Aiden Grell has already made a
forty two yard field goal tonight. So here come the Crusaders.

(01:03:30):
Now they'll send three wide outs on the far side.
It's like they have swoops in the backfield with Sebastian
Williams first intended to forty nine. And they'll hand this
one off to Swoops. And this time Mechanicsburg gets in
there and defends it well. And the clock continues to run.
And now mcdebitt will take the time out here now

(01:03:52):
with sixteen seconds left, and they left a couple seconds
take off the clock there, Marty.

Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
I will tell you this art. I watched coach Wector.
He was thinking very hard and long about it.

Speaker 5 (01:04:03):
The referee on this side, who's literally three feet away
from is looking at him and are you gonna do
it or not?

Speaker 4 (01:04:10):
He decided not to, and then that quick changed his
mind and decided to.

Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
So, so it'll be a second and eleven for mcdebit
at the forty eight yard line, sixteen seconds left.

Speaker 5 (01:04:22):
If you know mcdebit, it's tough to throw across the
middle against Megannisberg. If they take a shot at that
and get it, then they have that time out, you know,
to set up for a field goal.

Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
I'd like to see him throw a deep ball to
gauge and see if he can come up with something
over here. Johnte Engage out here in the near side
and probably going to be doubled here. Two white outs
on the far side. It's a bashing back to pass
some time runs forward. Now he's gonna run it. He's
got the forty five. He's got the forty and we'll

(01:04:54):
get out of bounds at around the thirty eight yard line.
So you got eight seconds left. You got time to
try and throw one more quick pass maybe and call
timeout and get Rebel on the field, or maybe just
one long hell marry into the end zone. We'll see

(01:05:14):
if they can fire one. Maybe you need maybe about
another I'd say ten yards.

Speaker 5 (01:05:23):
Fortunately, Sebastian gets out of bounds on that art and
they don't have to use that last time out, so
they again, they're hard to throw over the middle against them,
just by the way they bunch their linebackers and their safeties.

Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
So here we go first and ten mcdevid at the
thirty eight yard line. Two white outs to the far side,
one of the near Jack Dawson in the back for
along swoops. We'll give it to Swoops and Swoops up
the middle gets down to the twenty four yard line.
That's just what the doctor ordered. And now mcdebit can
take a timeout, try a field.

Speaker 4 (01:05:55):
Goal thirteen yard game for Swoops.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
Swoop sits that hole so fast he's able to get
through there and get about ten yards.

Speaker 5 (01:06:06):
And good call by coach Vector to you know, take
the chance of mechanics. Brooks thinking pass and let's see
what we can get off the run.

Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
So Ryan the holder once again for McDevitt from forty
two yards. Art, it's I already got one forty two
yard at tonight. We'll see if he can make another.
You might as well, right, I gotta be careful of
the block, that's the thing, you know what. And now
the mechanics were going to take a time out, So

(01:06:41):
mcdebit up seventeen to seven with three seconds left to play.

Speaker 4 (01:06:47):
A big field goal here, Art, if they can convert here,
extend that lead out to thirteen.

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
And as they get the ball to start to second,
they get the.

Speaker 5 (01:06:56):
Ball and that's the two for one. As you always
talk about with the two scores. One is not going
to be a touchdown, but.

Speaker 4 (01:07:06):
They're either up thirteen or up forbid a block card.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:07:12):
In fact, when you watch high school football, you can
have the greatest kicker, right. The thing is how much
work goes into protecting that kicker right from blocks and
you see a lot of blocks.

Speaker 4 (01:07:22):
You know, I think a person thing I feel like
I do at this level.

Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
All right, So here we go Ryan Hart, the holder
for Bison McDevitt. Here, forty two yard attempt coming from
Aiden Grella, and Grella's kicked plenty of leg and the
kick is good, and the Crusaders go up twenty to seven.
If you had Aiden Grilla kicking a pair of forty

(01:07:50):
two yards toil goals, and they might want to play
the lottery tomorrow. So the Crusader's up twenty to seven
here at the half, and the teams will head to
the locker room.

Speaker 4 (01:08:00):
Can we say, art it would have been good from
a lot longer?

Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
Oh yeah, you got into that one definitely. All right,
we will take a break. We'll have tonight's halftime show

All right, Welcome back to rock or attend du Stadium
here at bish mcdebit high Coot solby Marty Bowman and
JC beck In the news radio WHP five eighty studios.
We're at the half in this District three five a
quarterfinal game between Bish mcdebit Mechanicsburg. Crusaders up twenty to seven.
In this mcdebitt would score eight or three left to play.
In the first quarter, Maurice Barnes with a four yard

(01:12:05):
touchdown run put the Crusaders up seven to nothing. Then
here in the second quarter, Aiden Grella, with his first
of two forty two yard field goals on the night,
mcdebbitt would go up ten to nothing. At that point,
Crusaders look like they might open up this game a bit,
and then they got into some penalty trouble. They got
backed up deep in their own territory and then Mechanicsburg
would block a punt and recovered for a touchdown to

(01:12:28):
mega ten to seven. Bishop mcdebitt. The Wildcats would try
and surprise mcdebbitt with a short kick, but Jack Dawson
would recover. Crusaders would go down the field Maurice Barnes
with a one yard touchdown run to put mcdebit up
seventeen to seven. Crusaders would get it back drive down
the field one more time and to Aiden Grella again
with another forty two yard field goal puts mcdebit up

(01:12:50):
twenty to seven on the final play of the half,
and that is the score as we reach halftime here now.
So we're gonna take a break. We'll take a look

Been wanting to do this for a long time. Ron Myers,
an official, always wanted to get one of you guys
in the booth ram, but they always turned me down. No,
that's not true, but just some questions.

Speaker 5 (01:15:43):
We talked a little bit before the game, and you
do all three main sports thing correct, correct, I'm gonna
guess basketball to me, seems like it would be the hardest.
And you're shaking your head already. I would say basketball
only because the fans on you and if you have
ears at all, you know, but go ahead and tell

(01:16:04):
us what you like don't.

Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
Like it not by far.

Speaker 13 (01:16:07):
Football is definitely the harder sport to officiate. Yet twenty
two guys that's on the field. The clock's running to
be anywhere between twenty five seconds to forty seconds, a
lot of movements, there's a lot of rules, and there's
a whole lot of penalties on the actual game itself.
So well as being a young official going into that atmosphere,

(01:16:27):
there's a whole lot that you can miss. Basketball has
a flow and you can call fouls, traveling, etc.

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Et cetera.

Speaker 13 (01:16:37):
And baseball is definitely all situational.

Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
Okay, So basketball is safe to say even though you
hear it, you don't hear it well as.

Speaker 13 (01:16:44):
Being an official, you have to see it before you
call it and let your eyes be your voice. You
ignored the crowd so that you can vision and process
the whole process of the evolation.

Speaker 5 (01:16:57):
I learned that one of my friends who's an official
down like County. I learned this and I try to
remind people this.

Speaker 4 (01:17:03):
The official has to exhale first, you know, immediately when
you see it as a fan, you holler, why don't
you blown it? He's got to exhale. It takes a
half a second or second to do that.

Speaker 13 (01:17:13):
Correct. I usually give myself, you know, two to three
seconds before I make my ruling. I make sure that
I saw it and I'm processing between my mind and
between my mouth, and then we move on with the
actual call.

Speaker 4 (01:17:27):
Holding. And this is one that you hear all in football.
You hear all the time that all it could be
called on every play and things like that. If it's
marginal and it's away from the play, does that mean
you don't or do you? Because if the play continues
long down the field, that guy who was held up
might not get there.

Speaker 13 (01:17:46):
If there's a holding call in high school football that
is away from the play, we are told not to
call that actual play because it has no emphasis on
the play because the play is thirty forty yards down
the road. If a guy pancakes somebody, now we got
a problem.

Speaker 5 (01:18:04):
We had a penalty here tonight, and we see it
a lot on all levels of football. Now, where there's
a ball carrier stacked up, progress is done, the whistle's blowing,
guy's pushed a little bit too long. Is that just
a judgment on Okay, they heard the whistle, they should
have let up.

Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
How do you call that?

Speaker 13 (01:18:23):
All crews called their vision a little bit different. I'd
believe it. Because this is a playoff game of district game.
They're going to be making sure that they work to
the whistle so that we can control the game and
the emotions stay out of it.

Speaker 4 (01:18:35):
Okay, last, I guess the last game here two weeks ago,
this was talked about all over here.

Speaker 5 (01:18:41):
There was a hurdling, and I had looked this up
maybe a year or so ago, thought I had it right.

Speaker 4 (01:18:46):
But for high school, if you could define when the
hurdle penalty is called, when it's not called.

Speaker 13 (01:18:52):
Hurling is when a defensive player is upright and the
offensive player tries to ejack himself over the person. If
the defensive player is on the ground and the offensive
player jumps over him when he's on the ground, that
is not considered hurtling.

Speaker 5 (01:19:10):
That's just a real simple basic when people can remember,
sure defenders on the ground, you can hurdle.

Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
It's upright.

Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
You can't hurt on correct.

Speaker 4 (01:19:17):
So I think I asked which was the heart? What's
your favorite? Other sports?

Speaker 6 (01:19:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 13 (01:19:24):
You go to get me, I said, yeah, get some
of your buddies, managed right, Yeah, Well, I played baseball,
that was my first love for my first sport, and
then I played basketball and football as well. But like
I said, I love all three. They all have a
different part than me. I just know that I feel
more challenge played watching football because I watch more football

(01:19:47):
than I do any other sports.

Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
I guess we should let the fans know it's halftime.
Ron is on the clock.

Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
Tonight, So that's why we were able to get him
over here. He's normally would be down in the locker
room halftime. Do you guys discuss those things?

Speaker 4 (01:20:00):
Do you discuss, you know, things in the first half
that maybe you saw or that they saw or something.

Speaker 13 (01:20:05):
Yes, we always make sure we talk about on the
unsportsman light of penalties. We talk about if the game
goes into overtime, what's the process, how we're going to
handle that. And then we also make sure that we
get the two minute mark that we all are really
on our toes, especially in a close game like we

(01:20:25):
have it tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:20:26):
I'll ask you one more Ron, and this is one
that I always see.

Speaker 5 (01:20:29):
We actually talked about it earlier. You got to tackle
in the field. Maybe the far ref has it a
half a yard. You are different than the near reft.

Speaker 4 (01:20:39):
It is the near reft's call gonna be the one
where you're going to spot the ball.

Speaker 13 (01:20:43):
Yes, the person the ball location is on the line person,
line dues or headline judge, whatever side that is, that's
his call because he's got the better look at where
the actual stoppageer play is at and the other official
was supposed to mirror him as close as possible.

Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
Hey, yeah, I thought that's that's what it would be.

leads twenty to seven. Here at the half, we're waiting
both teams to come out of the locker rooms. Quick
scoring recap. Marie Barns again a four yard touchdown run
in the first quarter put mcdevid up seven, zip Aiden
Grella a forty two yard field goal to put the
Crusaders up ten to nothing, and then Mechanics Wort would
block a punt recover in the end zone for a
touchdown to make it ten to seven. Mcdebit. Merusaders would

(01:24:28):
answer back another one yard touchdown run by Maurice Barns
to make it seventeen to seven, and then Aiden Grella
another forty two yard field goal as the clock expired
to put mcdevid up twenty to seven at the half.
Marty an interesting interview there. Always have wanted to hear
from an official and some of the calls and things
like that, and definitely had some good answers there for you.

Speaker 4 (01:24:50):
Yeah, he did.

Speaker 5 (01:24:51):
I was basically, I was just thinking of the questions
that I've asked over the years, you know, And you know,
it's funny how he doesn't basketball. That's one I don't
think I would like. I mean, it's just so you know,
spontaneous and so much even and there's only ten players,
I understand, but wow, it's just.

Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
You know, I would not want to have to make
the block charge call.

Speaker 1 (01:25:14):
Exactly what's going to say.

Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
I want to do that one summer easier than others.
But there's such a bang bang call, and no matter
how you're going to make the call, the fans are
going to explode.

Speaker 5 (01:25:29):
To say, after I thanked him and told him how
much we appreciate him. Watching NBA officials the block charge, I.

Speaker 4 (01:25:35):
Have no idea how they call it none.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
All right, welcome back, Rock will attend to your stadium
here at Bish mcdebbitt High School or at Selby Marty
Bowman JC Beck in the News Radio five eighty studios.
And we're just about ready for a third quarter action.
Vish mcdebitt's going to get the ball to start the
third quarter, Marty.

Speaker 5 (01:28:13):
Yeah, and you want to take advantage of that art
it would be a two for one, as you'd like
to talk about. If you talk that field goal at
the end of the half that coach Wector used the
time out smartly could play call on that play before
the field goal to gain some extra.

Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
Yardy doin the ground and get it for a manageable
field goal for Grella.

Speaker 5 (01:28:35):
So mcdebitt with a chance here to go up another
score if they can produce a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (01:28:42):
Mechanics. Brook has played well, not surprisingly.

Speaker 5 (01:28:44):
We know they're physical and know their physical upfront, and
they have played really, really well and shut down the
mcdebitt running game in the second quarter compared to what
it was in the first total yards, just real quick.
Mcdebitt has two hundred and eleven and Mechanicsburg has one
hundred and three.

Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
Big score. We're keeping an eye on is Exeter Township
ahead of Conestoga Valley thirty four to fourteen. Is obviously
an exitter of the lower seed. So if mcdebitt could
get a victory here tonight, they would host a playoff
game here next week. But a lot of work to
be done against this good mechanics for Wildcat football team.
And we were ready for a third quarter action. Here's
the kickoff as the Wildcats will try it on side kick,

(01:29:25):
but mcdebit recovers it right at the forty seven yard line,
and that was RJ. Duffy spot it into forty nine.

Speaker 5 (01:29:34):
You know, if you're gonna look at films are of
an entire football game, I do not kick it at RJ.

Speaker 4 (01:29:43):
Duffy. I tell my kicker, no matter what, you do,
not kick it at thirty one.

Speaker 2 (01:29:47):
I mean that's twice. Now they've gambled in this game.
They get the block punt and they tried and it
blew up. Mcdebitt went down and scored.

Speaker 5 (01:29:53):
And now this didn't surprise me at all. Why not,
you know, take a chance, but not at RJ. Duffy
and their defense has played well.

Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
I mean, it's not like mcdebitt's putting up forty in
the first half, and they now they put their defense
in a tough position. As mcdebit takes over here at
the forty nine yard line, they're come to Crusaders well
and left the right from the press back side of things.
Here a rocker Attendzeo Stadium going in motion as Holton Junior.
They get this one in the backfield back there to
LaRue and LaRue Junior gets inside the forty down to

(01:30:26):
the thirty nine, Stillson pushing. As finally taken down to
the thirty nine yard line, it'll be first down and
ten bishoon. Mcdebitt are as you.

Speaker 5 (01:30:34):
Uh like to say, they gave up field position. But
as you always say with mcdebit, is there such a
thing as field position. So maybe that's the logic there,
you know, nae logic is they don't get along kickoff
return right.

Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
Gage riz comes out on the near side as a
wide out for mcdebit. It's Holton Junior on the far side.
You know, two blockers in the backfield to Sebastian and
the Crusaders are going to run this one with Swoop
Swoops to the left side. He's got the thirty twenty
five twenty cuts outside and we'll go out of bounds
around the fifteen yard line. It'll be first down vision mcdebitt.

Speaker 5 (01:31:13):
Pick up of twenty four for Swoops for Jones Davis
here to start the second half. That was a pitch
and Swoops made a great cut at the line of
scrimmage to get outside. It was there and as soon
as he got outside, he was heading downfield for a twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:31:33):
Four yard game first down and ten mcdebit at the
fifteen yard line. Crusaders Breay cuddle with Gage Ruth had
here on the near side, Holton Junior on the far side. Again,
two blockers, one to each side of Sebastian, one back
in the backfield and they will run this one up
the middle to Swoops and Swoops gets down to the eleven.
Didn't look like he was gonna get much there, Marty,

(01:31:55):
but he still got four as they tripped them up.

Speaker 5 (01:31:57):
No, you're absolutely ready. Did not look like he was
going to get any It was a little bit of
a high snap. We don't see that often this year
with Jude slowver Don a great job, just that little
bit maybe of a split second to go up and
get it and bring it down. But swoops still able
to pick up and they'll give him five on the play.

Speaker 2 (01:32:17):
We should mention it's great to have Jude Sliver back in. Yes, yeah,
for Bishop mcdebit as he was out with injury the
last couple of weeks. I know he worked really hard
to get back on the field.

Speaker 4 (01:32:27):
And what a great kid, what a great team player.

Speaker 2 (01:32:30):
Second and sixth from the eleven, and here's a fake.
Sebastian's gonna run to the near side. He's got the ten,
he's got the five, and he walks into the end zone.
We're a Bishop mcdebit touchdown eleven yards and the Crusaders
go up twenty six to seven with ten twenty three
left to play.

Speaker 4 (01:32:46):
Here in the third, great call, great read buy Sebastian
Williams win the RPO and able to take it in
from eleven yards out for the touchdown for mcdebit.

Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
Sebastian's always able to surprise the defense of how quick
he is and how much he can run the ball,
and always seems to be a playworth at least ten
yards when he takes off like that. So Grella on
no attempt the extra point.

Speaker 4 (01:33:13):
Ryan Hart the holder, and he does like to run
the football hard and no secret there.

Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
Penalty flags come flying in here. It's a false start
against Bishop mcdebitt, illegal procedure. Bishop mcdebit, the Crusader's up
now twenty six to seven. Make this extra point a
little bit longer for Aiden Grella, and we're just about

(01:33:48):
ready to get rolling. Here's some late rain here at
Rocker Atenzio Stadium, Lots of umbrellas in the crowd. Here's
Grella's kick, a wine drive low kick and it's no good.
So that keeps the score of twenty six to seven.
Bishop mcdebit, ten twenty three left to play in the third,
will take a break. You're listening to bishon mcdebit football
here on news radio w HP five eighty and iheartradiots.

Speaker 4 (01:34:29):
We got talking about Mish.

mc debit football on news radio w HP five eighty

Speaker 7 (01:34:58):
Ed.

Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
Welcome back to Rocker Attendzi Stadium. Here at Bish mcdebitt
High School Arts Selby and Marty Bowman. Crusader's now up
twenty six to seven. After Sebastian Williams eleven yard scrambled
into the end zone. The extra point was no good
and now Bish mcdebitt will kick off here, going left
to right from the press box side of things here
at rock Artenzio Stadium.

Speaker 4 (01:35:18):
He look for the wildcatch to take some shots downfield.

Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
Art.

Speaker 2 (01:35:21):
Yeah, they have to at this point, they have to
make something happen on this drive or mcdebitt will just
totally take over. Here's Grella's kick. It's a high booming
kick and this will go into the end zone for
a touchback, and the rain is definitely intensifying, as you
can see up in the lights now as it's coming
down pretty good now. And if you're mcdebitt, you're thankful
you got a nineteen point lead at this point.

Speaker 4 (01:35:44):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 5 (01:35:45):
And it'll be interesting to see how the passing games affected,
if it's affected at all, whether players are gonna be
slipping it all.

Speaker 2 (01:35:59):
So the balls are the twenty yard line for the
Wildcats as they head towards the Dairy Street end of
the field, and they'll come up a Wildcat play as
they Doshson tries to come to the near side and
has spun over his legs twisted backwards and hopefully he's
all right, and he definitely is not feeling real great

(01:36:23):
at this point. So mcdevid will come to the near
sideline here.

Speaker 4 (01:36:29):
Mechanics purg Cart brought everybody in on that.

Speaker 5 (01:36:31):
It was tight formation, no wides, just a shotgun, so
everybody was up there on the line of Scrimmager close
to it, a strong runner. We saw him with a
run earlier in this game where he picked up a
substantial him out and that time mcdebitt was just stared
to shut it down.

Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
After two yards.

Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
Good news is as he's up and on his feet
and is going to run off the field. Just looked
really scary the way that play developed from up here.
But thankfully he is able to get up and jog
off under his own power.

Speaker 4 (01:37:04):
Yeah, it did, it did. It's that is as you said,
that's a really good thing.

Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
So it'll be second and eight. They just got two
on that one. Ten thirteen left to play. Third quarter,
twenty six seven. One white out to the near side
for the Wildcats. Power eye formation behind Apple. Apple fakes
it now fires when over the middle. This one is
complete out here to Gold and Gold takes it up
to the thirty four yard line for our first down

(01:37:32):
for the Wildcats, and.

Speaker 5 (01:37:34):
Once again there just a slant across the middle, not
really sl it's just an inn route across the middle,
and QB puts it right on the money.

Speaker 4 (01:37:43):
They pick up the first down mistackleing in.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
Art balls at the thirty four yard line. Fos comes
out here as the lone wide out for the Wildcats,
and again it's a power eye formation behind Apple. Hoos
goes in motion from the near side to the far
and they will hand this one off up the middle.
On a nice run for the Wildcats up the field,
and that's Reyesce Miller. Miller spins his way up to

(01:38:07):
the forty seven yard line and a first down and
ten for Mechanics.

Speaker 5 (01:38:10):
Wicks up twelve thirteen on that art and a short
tackle there for Bishop mcdebbitt by Tyler Reinhart. They needed
that short tackle because he was the last line of defense,
if you will, on that one. And Mechanics Spirts come
out totally not doing what I thought they would do.
They're just lining up saying we're gonna run football. We're

(01:38:31):
gonna come at you with our our big D one
three defensive lineman offensive lineman for Mechanicsburg, and we're just
gonna pound the ball at you.

Speaker 2 (01:38:39):
And that's exactly what they try and do here Mcdeviit
pounds back a bit. Is they get about three yards
on that one, it'll be second down and seven as
they get up to midfield here, we'll give them two.
Dennis mcduffy on the tacks for Bishop McDevitt, so to

(01:39:04):
be second and eight from the forty nine yard line.
Under nine minutes left to play in the third and
now we have an official time out here ring continues
to fall here Rock Rtenzio Stadium and probably will for
a little bit here. Crusader's up twenty six to seven
in this District three to five eight quarterfinal game against Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 4 (01:39:28):
Now, the wow Cats come out with a three wide
two in the far one on the near side here.

Speaker 2 (01:39:38):
Eight forty five left to play. Mechanicsburg looks over to
the far sideline. They'll bring a man in motion from
the far side to the near and then that is
Dawson in there, and Dawson's kind of keep it, takes
it himself up the field to about the forty eight
yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:39:57):
Then make it a very manageable third down. The Wildcats.

Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
They bring in a different ball to take to us,
a player to take the snap, and they spread things
out a bit with their wide receivers. Take apple out
of there and trying full mcdebbit a little bit going
out in the far side. It's foos and again it's
a power eye formation for Mechanicsburg on third and five,

(01:40:23):
and they will run this one up the middle and
Bishop mcdebit's not having any of it. They knock them back. R. J.
Duffy in there as well, as Shaheite Clement, and.

Speaker 5 (01:40:36):
We certainly want to pay us archadolensis art to Shaheit Clement,
his family, those close to the family on the tragic
death of his father this earlier this week.

Speaker 2 (01:40:48):
Elliott Clement, So yes, absolutely so. Now that sets up
a fourth down and four for the Wildcats at the
mcdebit forty seven yard line. Obviously a huge play here,
two white outs to the near side, one of the
far apple's gonna pitch it. The ball's on the ground

(01:41:08):
either way mcdebit looks like Mechanicsburg might have recovered the
ball still on the ground. Nick Debit does pick it
up and down the sideline they go, I think that's
Patrick Wright takes it into the end zone for a
Bishop mcdebit touchdown and the Crusaders go up thirty two
to seven with seven or six left to play.

Speaker 5 (01:41:27):
In the third Mark Patrick Bright, one of the fastest
guys with the team, found himself wide open after he
picked up really have fumbled it. Mechanicsburg fell on it,
couldn't hold it. Two mcdebit players had it, couldn't hold it,
and finally Patrick Wright and he's out there all by
himself takes it down the sideline for the touchdown, and

(01:41:49):
that was a pitch well, I pitched it. We hadn't
seen much from Mechanicsburg at all, and uh, with the
wet ball just wasn't able to be taken in and
tucked away.

Speaker 2 (01:41:58):
That ball was on the ground for ever. I mean
we almost had time to walk down there out of
the press box and recover that thing. And then finally
it bounced to right. Now Ryan Hart comes onto the
field here.

Speaker 4 (01:42:12):
Hey, mcdebit with two guys short on that. As far
as being out there for the extra.

Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
Point, play clock down to eight. Gorella onto a temph
the extra point and the kick is up and this
time it is good. So if seven oh six left
to play in the third. Now mcdebit's exploded and they
lead Mechanics fort thirty three to seven. We'll take a break.

This is Bishop mcdebit football on news radio WHB five eighty.

Speaker 8 (01:43:30):
Good.

Speaker 2 (01:43:31):
All right, welcome back to rock ortent here Stadium. Here
at Fisher mcdebit High School. Crusaders now up thirty three
to seven over Mechanicsburg after Patrick Wright's forty seven yard
fumble recovery for a touchdown. Mechanicsburg just a bad pitch
there on fourth down, and it bounced around in the
ground forever, and finally Patrick Bright fielding it and took

(01:43:52):
it to the house. Now here's Grella's kickoff towards the
union deposit end of the field, and this one will
be returnable from the five. Bring it back to the
ten of the fifteen and Bisha mcdebit gets in there
and smothers up the ball returner at around the fifteen
yard line. Again, great special teams covered by Bishop mcdebit, Marty,
just a common theme all season.

Speaker 4 (01:44:12):
Hey Williams, sitting there on that one arc from mcdebitt,
tried to see who else decent Miller, I believe for
the Crusaders.

Speaker 2 (01:44:27):
So Bishop mcdebit. Seven minutes left to play here in
the third Crusaders in really good shape now, and last
we heard, Exeter was leading the ball game against Conestoga
Valley thirty four to fourteen. As those scores hold, we'll
get another home playoff game here next Friday night at
Rock Rottenzio Stadium. Is still a little work to do

(01:44:49):
here though, still seven minutes left to play in the
third quarter. Two white outs to each side of the
field here for mechanicsburg Apple waits to snap, Here comes
the pressure, dumps a screen pass over the middle, and
Bishop mcdebit blows it up quickly. And that was Ryan
Hard I believe on the tackle. And now penalty flag comes.

Speaker 4 (01:45:10):
Lay and hollered, you cannot do that. You cannot do that.

Speaker 2 (01:45:18):
Tyler's a helmet came off after the tackle there, so uh,
he makes.

Speaker 4 (01:45:25):
A great play, reads the scream, perfectly gets the tackle.
I know you don't agree with it. You can't do that.
You cannot do that. It's something that they.

Speaker 2 (01:45:34):
This is football. The at some point, Yeah, you gotta
you know, I didn't think.

Speaker 3 (01:45:38):
It was that bad.

Speaker 4 (01:45:39):
You play football with your hands, your arms, your legs,
not your mouth.

Speaker 2 (01:45:46):
We watch a different game then all wee can. Sometimes
yeah we do.

Speaker 4 (01:45:49):
We almost always do.

Speaker 2 (01:45:50):
Six forty seven left to play here in the third quarter.
Mcdebit's up thirty three seven and that'll move the ball
out to the thirty yard line.

Speaker 5 (01:46:02):
The Reinhardt family is parked beside me in the parking
lot of ARC. Hopefully at the end of the game
we can discuss that with a positive win.

Speaker 2 (01:46:10):
Here, Wildcats Ray cuddle. They have two wide receivers to
the near side, one of the far Apple, with one
back in the backfield. First down in ten mechanicsburg. Now,
Apple will walk up to his lineman and mention something
to him. Play clock hasn't started. Now they will wind

(01:46:33):
the clock. Drake Dawson switches end of his offensive line,
goes to the far side. Apple will keep it himself,
takes it to the right side, and Apple will take
it up to around the forty yard line. We'll see
where they spotted went out of bounds over on the
far side, and I think they'll give him the first

(01:46:54):
down here.

Speaker 4 (01:46:56):
Well, he's either at it or he's just shy of it.

Speaker 2 (01:47:05):
It looks like they're gonna spot it. Well, now they'll
move the chains. After all that six and a half
minutes left to play here in the third mcdebit up
thirty three seven and the Wildcats great cuddle, all sorts
of movement as uh Rhys Miller comes out here now

(01:47:25):
and lines up as a white out on the near side,
and Dawson back there takes the snap, fires one down
the field, and this one is batted down double coverage
for Bishop mc debit around the forty two yard line
and not the prettiest pass there by Dawson, and it's incomplete.

Speaker 5 (01:47:44):
Jamis and Crumble was there for Bishop mcdebitt, and also
UH Carlos Smith in there for mcdebit. The ball fluttered,
so mcdebit it was really a whatever ball jump ball,
so I was.

Speaker 4 (01:48:04):
Hoping they wouldn't call any kind of interference on that
right because it was up for grabs.

Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
Literally, ball's probably a little slick at this point with
the rain coming down. They bunch up three wide outs
to the near side. They'll bring him man in motion
out of that backfield. That's Miller. Apple fires one of
the outside and he has his receiver of gold out there,
and mcdebbit blows it up, tackles him into the backfield.
Ryan Hart back there along with Smith. I think uscin
Zach Brown back there as well, holding your breath of

(01:48:32):
new flags came flying out of there more he mcda
it excited on the play. Don't want any of that
in the football game, any excitement.

Speaker 5 (01:48:41):
I think at my age, you can predict that I'm
never going to coach football. If I did, my players
would be trained. When you make a big play, find
your nearest teammate and celebrate with him. Just go to him,
holler at him, you know, don't holler anything at the
other team.

Speaker 2 (01:48:58):
Third down in eighteen from the thirty two yard line,
five and a half minutes left to play, going in
motion as Apple now, Dawson will fire one of the
outside and this passes off the mark. Penalty flag comes
flying in way back in the backfield.

Speaker 4 (01:49:11):
That's an illegal shift.

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
And mcdebitt's gonna decline it so that I'll make it
fourth down and eighteen.

Speaker 5 (01:49:28):
Well, aren't you on side kick to open the third quarter?
Are you gonna do something here to try to make
something happen?

Speaker 2 (01:49:36):
Not on fourth and eighteen, But I mean, really, at
this point, what do you have to lose? And mcdebit's
up twenty six now with five minutes left to play.

Speaker 5 (01:49:46):
You know, this is one of those where I'm probably
telling the deep man Ish palmer, don't catch the football,
don't even try to catch it. Yeah, just let it go,
let it hit where it rolls. It rolls, but too
much chance with a web football.

Speaker 2 (01:49:58):
They do punt it.

Speaker 4 (01:49:59):
Of course I'll geld a touchdown because I said, this.

Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
Fumbles it and I thought he was going to be
out of bounds it around the thirty eight yard line,
but stayed and bound somehow and then finally is tackled down.

Speaker 4 (01:50:10):
I rest my case.

Speaker 5 (01:50:12):
No, seriously, no, I agree the senuation. When you're up
up by this many points, you just don't even bother.

Speaker 2 (01:50:18):
Yep, not in this weather. There's no reason to chance
it not up by twenty six don't want to give
them any any opportunities at all here.

Speaker 4 (01:50:27):
Any yeah, exactly, any incentive whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
Five point twenty left the plane in the third now
mcdeviit up thirty three seven over Mechanicsburg.

Speaker 5 (01:50:38):
So mcdebit coming with three wids here. They have Jack
Dawson in the backfield.

Speaker 2 (01:50:42):
Been all mcdebit here so far. In the third quarter,
they'll hand this one off up the middle to the
outside and that's LaRue and LaRue somehow was able to
stay on his feet even though they tried to spin
him down, and I didn't really pick up much. But
what a night's run there by LaRue Jr.

Speaker 5 (01:51:00):
Mcdefit really likes that because LaRue they stopped his progress
before he went out of bound.

Speaker 4 (01:51:05):
So the clock continues.

Speaker 2 (01:51:09):
Now, Maurice Barnes is going to check into the game
for Bision, mcdebit, so they'll have Barnes and the Rue
in the game here together. Mcdebit's just kind of try
and eat up some clock here, I think now, and
run the ball down the field. Holton Junior goes out
on the far side with Johntay and the two backs
in the backfield, and the shotgun formation. Now Larugo's in motion,

(01:51:33):
and now penalty flags come flying out. Clock stops four
thirty one left to play in the third and mcdebit
up thirty three to seven. Ish Palmer comes onto the
field and see Sebastian has the final word from coach Weckt.

(01:52:00):
And now they wind the clock again. Here play clocks
down to twenty debit up. As I mentioned, thirty three
seven four twenty four left the plane the third. They
have two white outs to the fore side and one
to the near. That's Gage Roof two backs in the backfield.
So hand this one off to LaRue Junior. LaRue up
the middle. He's got the first down and Moore takes
it up close to midfield. Just shy at the fifty

(01:52:23):
maybe the forty nine, and uh give him ten in
the first down. That's what mcdebitt wants to do this point.
Eat up that clock. He got a twenty six point lead,
and eat up a bunch of the clock and go
down and punch it in one more time and put
the game away. Crusaders break huddle, Holton Junior and Ish

(01:52:46):
Palmer on the far side, Gage Ruth on the near side.
Again the two backs in the backfield. Again the rude
junior goes in motion and then again penalty flags come
flying in and this is a false start against Bishop mcdebit.

Speaker 4 (01:53:04):
Mc debit just not getting set properly in this one.
They go in motion.

Speaker 5 (01:53:08):
I'm not sure whether somebody isn't reset for that second
and then he goes in motion, so you have two
minutes same I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (01:53:17):
Now Barnes will check out for Bishop mcdebit. Zach Brown
comes into the game, LaRue Junior checks out, as does
Ish Palmer.

Speaker 4 (01:53:27):
Howard Holton came to the sidelines.

Speaker 2 (01:53:29):
They went back in swoops back in the game for
Bishop mcdebit. Clock running nows are down to three and
a half left in the third one white out to
each side of the field. They give it to swoops
and not much there that time for swoops as he
gets up to about the forty seven, got about three

(01:53:50):
and it'll be second down to twelve for Bishop mcdebit.
Rain continues to fall here pretty steady. At Rocker attends
to stadium as expected. Haven't had a lot of rain
this year when mcdebitt's been playing.

Speaker 4 (01:54:08):
I was actually we were trying to remember that whether
we had any I thought one of the games here
it rained very late. Yeah, it was almost like we
didn't even.

Speaker 2 (01:54:18):
Notice it until we walked out of the press box
after the game. Two white outs to the near side
for mcdebit, one to the far that's John take quick.
He goes in motion from the near side to the far.
Sebastian fakes it, pitches one of the outside, tries to
throw it over the shoulder to Johntey and just can't connect.
And it'll be third down and twelve from the forty
six for Bishop mcdebitt.

Speaker 4 (01:54:41):
That's only Sebastian's second in completion tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
Art just continues to get better every week. It's been
that way all season, so much improvement from week one
down at the York Rose Bowl classic Crusader's bray cuddle here.
Now they'll come with three y out on the near
side and one to the far. Troops still in the

(01:55:04):
backfield on this third down and twelve. Sebastian back to pass,
fires one up the field and this one is complete
to gauge. Ruth does a nice job secure in it
and gets up to the forty four yard line. Gonna
be short of the first down by a couple.

Speaker 4 (01:55:23):
Pick up of ten for the Crusaders, and Coach.

Speaker 2 (01:55:28):
Rector's already made the decision to go forward. Here we
need about three yards. We'll see if they elect to
try and power this one or throw a quick pass
to the outside. If you're gonna do that, I'd like
to see John Tay in the game. They do bring
John Tay out and now looks like McDevitt's gonna take

(01:55:53):
a time out, so they will take a time out.
A minute forty eight left play here in the third quarter,
mcdebit up thirty three to seven. Discover the difference with

Speaker 4 (01:56:37):
You know you don't want to overlook that last completion
to gain truth. It's the first one of the games.
There was a lot of traffic there, oh yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:56:45):
And it had to be feathered in there perfectly by
Sebastian Williams and he did. And then it also needed
to be held onto by Gage as he was going
to get hit me to it as soon as he
caught the ball. And really a big completion to put
mcdevit if they are going to go for this, to
put them in a situation to have a fourth down
and short.

Speaker 2 (01:57:04):
I like the ball security by Gage there. Earlier in
the year, he was letting the ball out there a
little bit and bumbletumb here early in the season, but
he's really picked his game up throughout the season. Another
smart play there by Gage. After the big catch. Fourth
and three from the forty four go in motion of
Holton Junior. Sebastian fires one of the outside and he's

(01:57:26):
got Holton Junior for the first down down to the
thirty nine yard line. Well designed play there by McDevitt
and they pick up the first down very nicely.

Speaker 4 (01:57:35):
Done by coach Wector and the men in blue and gold, and.

Speaker 2 (01:57:41):
Good concentration there by Holton Junior to wait for that
ball to arrive and with the soft hand, she's just
able to bring that one in and pick up the
first down.

Speaker 4 (01:57:51):
You know, you got a defender behind you, you're kind
of out there.

Speaker 5 (01:57:54):
Get here, ball, Get here ball, you know, like you said,
great concentration and takes it, doesn't try to do too
much with it, gets the first down.

Speaker 2 (01:58:03):
First down in ten mcdebit at the thirty nine yard
line of Mechanicsburg again Holton Junior to the far side.
Two wide receivers to the near side. Sebastian will hand
this one off. This is Barnes. Barnes inside to thirty
rumbles down to the twenty seven and another first down.
Bishop mcdebit ain't at twelve.

Speaker 4 (01:58:21):
Well for Barnes and Debit seems to have things rolling now.
Ball security very important here.

Speaker 2 (01:58:30):
First down and ten minute and a half left to
play in this third quarter of mcdebit up thirty three
to seven. Gage, Ruth and John take quick out on
the far side, Holton Junior to the near side. Sebastian
waits to snap Barn's still in there. They give it
to Barnes again. Barnes up the middle of the Red Sea,

(01:58:51):
parts inside of ten, inside the barn takes it into
the end turn for a Bishop mcdebit touchdown twenty seven
yards and with a minute five left to play in
the third, Bishop mcdebbath go is up thirty nine to
seven over Mechanics Bird.

Speaker 4 (01:59:06):
Just as you said, the Red Sea parted for Barnes.

Speaker 5 (01:59:10):
They had once shot him down inside the ten and
he just kind of flicked that off and just took
it the rest of the way home.

Speaker 2 (01:59:18):
Grella on to attempt the extra point and Ryan Hart
the order and minute five left to play in the third.
Here's Brella's kick. It is up and it is good.

(01:59:42):
So that makes the score of Bishop mcdebit forty and
Mechanicsburg seven with a minute five left to play in
the third. We'll keep things here. Select Physical Therapy is

Speaker 5 (02:00:29):
So you just tune in, you see the score, you're
seeing it watching it somewhere else. You're at a game
somewhere else and you see that score and you say, oh, yeah,
we figured out this score doesn't really reflect.

Speaker 4 (02:00:42):
The way this game was.

Speaker 5 (02:00:43):
Mechanicspert was in this game to start the second half.
Mcdevis had a twenty to twenty point third quarter here.
They were up twenty to seven, So they got a
twenty point third quarter here to blow this open.

Speaker 4 (02:00:58):
But this game was a close, tight game.

Speaker 2 (02:01:02):
Yeah, Mechanicsburg made mcdebitt work for it in the first half,
and that's kind of been the story of a lot
of these games down the stretch. The Cumberland Valleys Central Dolphins,
I mean they made mcdebitt work for it. I mean,
the result was the same where mcdebitt would win handily,
but the team's able to make mcdebitt work for it.
And it's just more of the same than I I That.

Speaker 4 (02:01:23):
Kickoff just went up to Union Deposit Road. I think
I think the ball boy's gonna have to grab a
scooter forget that.

Speaker 2 (02:01:30):
It's up in my driveway in Halifax. Probably right about now.

Speaker 4 (02:01:33):
He really, for whatever reason, put some emphasis now and so.

Speaker 2 (02:01:38):
We got a minute five left to play in the third.
Mcdebitt's up forty to seven now or mechanicsburg as the
Wildcats come back onto the field, and now they'll come
with two wide outs to each side of the field.
Is looking like they're going to try and make some
big plays down the field on this drive down by
thirty three. Now the'll bring a man in motion from

(02:01:59):
the far side to the near apple fires went quickly
to the outside and I'm not sure if that one
got tipped, but it falls incomplete.

Speaker 4 (02:02:09):
Yeah, not sure either.

Speaker 5 (02:02:10):
I thought he pretty much just threw it into the ground.
And again we're we're looking at a wet football.

Speaker 2 (02:02:15):
Now, minute left to play. Definitely feeling good about things,
and mcdebit will play next Friday night, just a matter
of where the game will be. Last we had heard
it was thirty four or fourteen Connestoga Valley trailing to
Exeter Township and folks.

Speaker 4 (02:02:35):
That would put it here. If Exeter holds that lead
and wins, and mcdebit holds us and wins, that would
put it here. The district semis next week.

Speaker 2 (02:02:43):
And the Wildcats will run it. And this time mcdebit
again mcdeviit' is totally dominating both sides of the ball
now is they will knock Mechanicsburg backwards. That was number
twenty two Reeese Miller again and he loses about a
yard and it'll be third and eleven for Mechanicsburg. Forty
seconds left to play.

Speaker 5 (02:03:01):
Ja Kai Logan in the uh sorry, they're going Jaki
Logan in there on the tackle for the Crusaders. We've
called his name several times tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:03:13):
Under thirty seconds left to play and this one and
the Wildcats will break cuddle here play clocks down to ten.
They do have to snap it here before the third
quarter ends. Rhys Miller out here is a white out
on the near side two on the far side, and
Dawson is going to try and keep it himself, and

(02:03:35):
he sacked back at the sixteen yard line, number fifty
one in there for Mchanicsburg. I think on that one,
Marty Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:03:42):
Chris Thompson, yep, yeah. Dawson looked and it wasn't there,
and he thought he could hold it, man, you know,
run a little bit and get outside, but he didn't
really get two steps before he was tracked down.

Speaker 2 (02:03:56):
So that is going to end the third quarter. Play
here at rock ortenzi Ad mcdebit one quarter away from
advancing to the District three to five a semi final,
so we'll keep it here at the end of the
third quarter. Stators up forty to seven. Bish mcdebit. Football

Central PA. They're here to tackle your aches, pains, and
everything in between, the fact of what you love. Alsolect
Physical Therapy today. So mcdebit up forty to seven. Here
as we start the fourth quarter, switch end to the field.
Here as mechanics Burg now drives toward the Union deposit

(02:05:22):
end of the field. Here they have two white outs
to the near side. One of the far apple fires
went over the middle and Tyler Reinhart gets in there
and knocks that thing down.

Speaker 5 (02:05:33):
Big play by Ryan Hart without getting interference, goes over top.
Are you a little surprised when that one art fourth
and fourteen.

Speaker 2 (02:05:41):
That they went for t Well, I mean, we keep
talking about it doesn't matter where right McDevitt has the ball,
but I'm not sure i'd give them the ball to
fifteen yard line.

Speaker 4 (02:05:50):
Yeah, but it's the same time.

Speaker 2 (02:05:51):
I guess I maybe they want to Yeah, I mean, no,
you're there.

Speaker 4 (02:05:54):
I mean it's what are you going to do? You
have to do something, and you got to show your
kids that you want to want them to play.

Speaker 2 (02:06:00):
Tim mcdebitt punches this in. We're gonna be in the
Mercy Rolls situation exactly. So the Crusaders now take over
first down and ten at the sixteen yard line.

Speaker 4 (02:06:10):
And mcdabitt switching quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (02:06:13):
Here Art kill fight I believe it there.

Speaker 5 (02:06:16):
Fight is in there at the quarterback spot. A little surprise.
I didn't know that Coach Rector would go this early.

Speaker 2 (02:06:26):
Looks like Chance Holmes is in. There is a wide
out for the Crusaders on the near side, and now
they will start play here fight waits a snap and
the Crusaders will run this one up the middle and
they will take this one down to the ten yard line.

(02:06:46):
That is mcfarlande for Bishop mcdabbitt on the run, sterling
Xavier McFarlane.

Speaker 4 (02:06:51):
Who picks up seven. McFarland doesn't get cheated there. Now
we'll give him six.

Speaker 2 (02:07:00):
So it'll be second and four from the ten with
eleven and a half left to play in this game,
and mcdebit on their way up forty to seven. Crusaders
taking care of business here tonight, Crusaders break huddle now,
no hurry to snap the ball. Play clocks down to ten.

(02:07:22):
Two white outs to the near side, one to the
far and the Crusaders are running again up the middle
inside the five like Farland again with another run, and
that should be a first down and goal for Bischomitz pickup.

(02:07:43):
Last year, these two teams played for the district three
to five, a semi final for the right to go
to the district championship, and mcdebit defeated McCann Expert twenty
six to fourteen, and obviously a different game here tonight.
Two white outs again to the near side, one to
the far, fighting the shotgun formation. Forty to seven again,

(02:08:09):
they drained that play clock and they will hand this
one off to the outside. That's Shaheath Clement in there.
Marty j spot down.

Speaker 5 (02:08:25):
I think, considering what he's been through this week, I'd
be a great story if he could get one here.
Thought about this afternoon, I thought, well, if Mick Debitt
would blow this open. Would we see Clement get a
chance to uh maybe get a touchdown here tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:08:41):
So they lost a couple on that, or be second
down and go from the seven. As we approach the
ten minute mark, and Shaheed's still in there at tailback
for Bishop mcdebitt, Fight awaits the snap. He's got two
white outs to the near side, one of the far
and they'll give it to Clement again. Clement up the

(02:09:02):
middle and he gets down to about the two yard
line that close and weft third and goal from the
two for Bishop mcdebbit.

Speaker 5 (02:09:15):
I don't know if you're aware, but the entire team
of mcdebbit is that into the bench. They started about
two plays ago, and we didn't realize that he had
went in right away.

Speaker 4 (02:09:25):
They were trying to get the crowd up. They're rooting
for him to get.

Speaker 2 (02:09:29):
That touchdown, third down and goal from the three.

Speaker 4 (02:09:33):
No surprises of who's going to get it.

Speaker 2 (02:09:36):
Flight awaits the snap, they give it to Clement. Clement
cuts outside an pro Bishop mcdebbit touchdown and Shaheed Clement.
Sometimes you don't have to say anything, Marty, and I
Waitcher is somewhere. His father is very proud of him

(02:09:57):
right now, shahe'd with a three year touchdown run and
the Crusaders are up forty six to seven, nine to
twelve left to play in this game.

Speaker 5 (02:10:08):
We should add that Bishop mcdebbitt took the h I
don't know if it's just the seniors, but they were
only able to get one bus and they did take
a good portion of the team to the funeral on Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (02:10:29):
So three year touchdown run by Shahid Clement grella Ano
tempt the extra point, the kick is up and it
is good. So nine to twelve left to play in
this one. Mcdevit's up forty seven to seven and we'll
take a break. You're listening to Bish mcdebit's football here

Speaker 2 (02:11:31):
Okay, she Heed Clement with a three yard touchdown run
and Bishop mcdebit up forty seven to seven with nine
to twelve left to play in this one. And there
are moments in sports, Marty that sometimes just kind of
leave you speechless, and that's why we love sports so much.
But after everything that young man has been through this week,

(02:11:53):
to score a touchdown for Bishop mcdebit just a beautiful
moment in sports. There for a shihed to score that touchdown,
and the Crusader's now forty seven to seven, nine to
twelve left to play. Here's Grella's kick. This one looks returnable.
They catch it at the ten to the fifteen and

(02:12:18):
fish and mcdebit gets in there and drags them back
a little bit further. They finally blew the whistle. He
didn't tackle him down, but told my breath for a penalty.

Speaker 4 (02:12:29):
Yeah, I'm trying to is that ish?

Speaker 2 (02:12:33):
I couldn't even tell, to be honest with you, Brella
runs out to get the tea on that one. We
got nine or three left to play. Mcdebit's up forty seven.

Speaker 4 (02:12:47):
Now I'm thinking it was Brandon Dawling. It's tough to
tell that difference between the six and the eight there.

Speaker 2 (02:12:58):
So mechanics burg leaving their starters in here, Apple under center.
It's a power eye formation. Now they'll pitch this one
in the backfield to a Reee Miller, and Reece Miller
takes it up over the twenty to about the twenty two.

Speaker 5 (02:13:15):
Yeah, Ard, as you said you didn't know whether you
were waiting for a flag, I mean because of mcdebit.

Speaker 4 (02:13:20):
I think it was Darling actually picked up the return Manning.

Speaker 5 (02:13:24):
Who carried him for like seven or eight yard and
you're just thinking put him down gently, you know, Yeah,
And he did.

Speaker 2 (02:13:36):
So the ball spotted at the twenty two yard line.
Eight thirty seven left to play in this one. Mcdebit
up forty seven to seven. Crusader's up by forty and
they'll pitch this one in the backfield again to Reece
Miller and nothing there as he's run out of bounds

(02:13:57):
over on the far sideline. Gil, So that'll be third
down and five or so for Mechanicsburg. As we're in
the Mercy World situation now here with mcdebit up forty proceders,

(02:14:23):
Jonas Walton checks in for Bishop mcdebitt now under center's
apple and they will run this one to the near side,
and they do push forward for the first down, and
that is a again, that was a Miller. Again, the

(02:14:50):
mechanics Burg moves the chains.

Speaker 5 (02:14:55):
I don't know that in the second quarter there that
I would have looked at this has ended up a
Mercy World game.

Speaker 4 (02:15:01):
I'm sure you probably did, but no, but but I didn't.

Speaker 2 (02:15:06):
Mcdebit has a tendency to wear teams down. And here's
a run of the outside up to the forty two
and penalty flag comes flying in from downfield.

Speaker 4 (02:15:15):
See if I get this right, one of two things.
It's in an illegal block area or it's in a
face mask area. Official pointing towards mcdebbitt so and.

Speaker 2 (02:15:30):
Asked, mcdebit, Yeah, seven seven, six left to play in
this one, and uh, I'm not kind of want to
see the penalty totals for mcdebit from this one, and
I especially the personal foul type calls. But in saying that,

(02:15:52):
I'm sure coach Victor will be happy if a forty
point league here in the fourth quarter, seven minutes left
to play, balls at the forty two yard line, one
wide out to the far side. Again, it's a power
run formation for mechanics Burg.

Speaker 5 (02:16:15):
Nice play there by Will Jost coming off this dear
side defensive end spot making the tackle there in open field.

Speaker 2 (02:16:24):
They haven't done it a ton when the game was
still within reach, though. They ran the ball one time
with a fullback Colin Stare, and it was frightening the
way that man was able to take it up the
middle for ten yards, and you just really have not
really seen that since they mcdeviit stopped it once, but
they really have not ran there a whole lot. Now

(02:16:47):
the ball's on the ground and Apple's able to recover
it at the forty one yard line, so I'll make
it third down and nine with about six minutes left
to play, forty seven to seven, Saders on their weight
or their ninth win of the year to go to

(02:17:08):
nine and two in Mechanicsburg, the ten in one year,
their only loss a one point loss to Lower Dolphin
twenty two twenty one, so they felt they could have
been undefeated coming in here tonight. But they're obviously gonna
walk out of here ten and two, getting three backs
in the backfield behind Apple, and again they try and

(02:17:28):
run it up the middle, and that is a stare
of the man I just mentioned, takes it down to
the thirty six yard line of Bishop mcdebitt. So they
do get five on that run. Stare six foot two,
two hundred and forty pounds.

Speaker 4 (02:17:48):
Yeah, he's a he's a load. I know the mcdebit
d here.

Speaker 5 (02:17:54):
Mostly second team. I still want to keep Canings forgot
the end zone. That the only touchdown they would have
gotten tonight was on the block punt, so humble recover.

Speaker 2 (02:18:05):
It's like Austin mack is out there as a corner
in the fore side for mcdebitt, and Apple's gonna throw
one down the field, and this one is intercepted inside
the ten yard line by Bishop mcdebitt and he's tackled
down inside to ten trying to get a number on
that one Marty that Austin Mack I believes just mentioned

(02:18:26):
him in the picked it off.

Speaker 1 (02:18:29):
Good position.

Speaker 5 (02:18:30):
Balls, a little underthrown, but mac ran the route with
the receiver and was able to turn around and pick
it off.

Speaker 2 (02:18:38):
And four forty one left to play. Mcdebit's up forty
seven to seven, so we'll see the second team offense
again here for Bisho. Mcdebit up forty seven to seven
with four to thirty five left to play in this one,

(02:19:03):
Crusaders come with two white outs to the near side,
one to the far fighting in their quarterback McFarland at
running back, and they will run this one to the
near side and Mechanicsburg's defenses in there to shut that
one down. Yeah, that was never there for McFarlane. They

(02:19:27):
were all over that one, so he'll lose three, the
second and thirteen as we go under four minutes left
to play in this one, dep forty seven to seven,
and obviously the Crusaders won that clock that stick down

(02:19:48):
as much as they can. The clock has stopped for
some reason.

Speaker 5 (02:19:52):
The injured player aren't He was able to get off himself.
But there's one of the d linemen that was in
on that tackle.

Speaker 2 (02:20:00):
Holmes is out Here is a white app for vision
mcdebit on the near side, and that's Brescia out here
as well for vision mcdebit. Now they've started the clock
and mcdebit just letting that thing run down as much
as I can here, just wanting to get this game

(02:20:20):
into books as quickly as possible at this point and
start looking ahead the next week. We'll see if they're
going to play here or have to go down to
the Lancaster area. Play clocks at ten, game clocks at
three twenty, I mcdevid will send the man in motion
and they will run this one and again, Mechanics were

(02:20:43):
all over that one. It's a Mersaders try and run.
Mc farlane.

Speaker 4 (02:20:52):
I was staring the tackle for Mechanics Burt. The aforementioned Colins.

Speaker 2 (02:21:00):
Stare Mechanicsburg, very solid, good football program. They've really been
building their program, especially the last few years, and they
had a great season just running into this powerhouse that
is Bishop mcdebitt.

Speaker 4 (02:21:19):
Two years in a row. They had a great season
art they.

Speaker 2 (02:21:21):
Were really liked their team last year's I mean they
were an explosive, scary team and they gave mcdebit some
problems on the road last year, but the Crusaders found
a way to get out of there for a twelve
point win on their way to their state championship.

Speaker 5 (02:21:39):
A couple of I think there was a block conversion
and another conversion that didn't work.

Speaker 4 (02:21:45):
That McDevitt was a couple of extra points in that game.

Speaker 2 (02:21:48):
If I recalls, we threw a couple of interceptions in
the end zone and the key points that really could
have put that game away, and they kind of kept
Mechanicsburg into it, and they hung around and kept it interesting.
Debitt might have won that game a lot more comfortably.
Minute fifty left to play here, play clocks at ten,
and Debitt's gonna punt this thing, and Grella will punt

(02:22:16):
this one from his own end zone in the rain.
Takes a good role for mcdebitt. And Crusaders will down
this one at around the forty four yard line, not
a big fantasy. And Grella in there punting in the
rain of forty He.

Speaker 4 (02:22:35):
Took it right out of my mouth.

Speaker 5 (02:22:42):
There was no leg getting hit or anything like that.
And as I look back, and I had said earlier,
I thought that Coach Wector went one possession earlier than
what I thought he would. I think the conditions I
think he was very confident that his team would hold this,
and I think that's why he probably got the starters out.
He did not want any injuries on a slippery field.

Speaker 2 (02:23:03):
Yeah, Mechanicsburg is going to run the ball this time.
The number twenty one Grady Weaver Milton to tackle for
Fish and mcdebit and a player down for a Mechanicsburg
for a minute fourteen left to play in this game.

Speaker 4 (02:23:20):
And that being said, Art, that's probably why I would
take two knees here, even as the losing team. You know,
if you were going to try I'm a fourth and
fourteen right from your own ten or whatever, then you

(02:23:40):
know I wouldn't even run place here. I would just
take the knees.

Speaker 2 (02:23:47):
So clack a stop. The minute fourteen left to play
in this with mcdebit up forty seven to seven at
second and eleven for the Wildcats, while I was at
the forty four yard line of vision, mcdebit.

Speaker 4 (02:24:00):
Forcing the injured player was able to get up and
off on his own power. That was Dawson Drake Dawson.

Speaker 2 (02:24:06):
Ring continues, Ring continues to fall here. Rocker attend to
US Stadium. Wildcats come with two white outs to the
near side, power eye formation behind quarterback Apple who's under center,
and they will run this one up the middle again
with Grady Weaver, and Weaver takes it inside the forty
down to the thirty eight so to be third down

(02:24:32):
and about four for the Wildcats game clocks at forty.
Neither run one more play here yet, as one will
be in the books. Wells at the thirty eight one
white out to each side of the field again, power

(02:24:52):
eye formation behind Apple, and again here's another handoff, this
time to Weaver and mcdevin. It gets in there and
shuts that thing down real quick. I think Ethan Miller
was in there for Bishop mcdeviit and that will be it,
arc and that will be it. Five seconds left, four

(02:25:14):
seconds three two one.

Speaker 7 (02:25:17):
That is it.

Speaker 2 (02:25:17):
It's in the books here at Rock Rotenzio Stadium, the
Crusaders in the win column here tonight, all over mechanics
for forty seven to seven Bishop mcdebit will advance to

The field, all right, Welcome back to Rock Rattenzio Stadium.
Here at Vision mcdebit high score selby Marty Bowman and
Vish mcdebitt has defeated Mechanicsburg here tonight in this District
three to five eight quarterfinal game forty seven to seven
scoring recap here for you. Maurice Barnes with a four
yard touchdown run in the first quarter. It was seven

(02:28:14):
to nothing mcdebitt. After one Aiden Grella a forty two
yard field goal put the Crusaders up ten to nothing.
Mechanicsburg would bounce back and block a punt after the
Crusaders got into some penalty trouble and they would block
the punt for the touchdown to make a ten to
seven mcdebitt. They'd try and surprise mcdebitt with a short kick,
but the Crusaders were not fooled. They got great field

(02:28:36):
position out of it, and then Maurice Barnes would score
from one yard out to put mcdebit up seventeen to seven.
Crusaders would finish the scoring in the first half with
another forty two yard field goal by Aiden Grella, and
mcdebit was up twenty to seven at the half. Again,
the Mechanicsburg Wildcats tried to surprise mcdebitt with a short
kick to start the second half. Crusaders would recover it

(02:28:58):
and then Sebastian Williams if a seven yard touchdown run
put mcdevad up twenty six to seven at that point.
The extra point was no good, then Mechanicsburg would have
it again. They would go forward on fourth down, the
pitch was not good. Mcdebbitt would finally pick it up.
Patrick Wright would take it to the house from forty
seven yards out with a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

(02:29:18):
It was thirty three to seven mcdebit at that point.
Maurice Barnes again with a twenty seven yard touchdown run
made it forty to seven mcdebit and then in the
fourth quarter Shaheed Clement with a three yard touchdown run
to put mcdevad up forty seven to seven at that point,
and that is our final score here tonight. I want

(02:29:38):

Player of the Game, brought to you by Game Day
Men's Health, defining a new era in men's health. And Marty,

(02:31:30):
nobody's getting a big cash reward or anything with this.
I just feel in my heart I want to do
it the Game Day Men's Player the Health tonight, Shahid
Clement will give it to him scoring that touchdown at
the end. Quite a tough week for him and the
football team. They came together tonight, just played a solid
game as a team. The special teams was great even

(02:31:52):
without the black punt offense, played well in the defense
all over, a good Mechanicsburg team and just just awesome
to see Shaheed get that touchdown at the end of
the game. Just one of those moments in sports that
there's no words needed. You just need to see the
video of it, and just a great moment tonight.

Speaker 5 (02:32:09):
And complimentary to it was the fact that Lazier Jones
Davis is very very close to Shihit.

Speaker 4 (02:32:15):
They are very close. And that being said, he had
a great game tonight.

Speaker 3 (02:32:21):
He did.

Speaker 4 (02:32:22):
It's gonna come out for his teammate. It really play it,
he did, so no or it's a great pick. And
if you were here and could see the bench the touchdown,
it was the biggest touchdown of the year for Bishop mcdebit.

Speaker 2 (02:32:35):
All right, God so Visia mcdebit wins forty seven to
seven over Mechanicsburg. We'll wait for a final score in
the Exeter Township Connistoga Valley game, as I mentioned, Exeter
was up forty one to twenty seven, about five minutes
left to play. If Exeter wins, they will come here
to Rocker Attenzee Stadium next Friday night. We'll have that
game for you at six thirty on Fox Sports fourteen

(02:32:57):

thirty on Fox Sports fourteen sixty. So I want to
