(00:00):
So then I said, what aboutbreakfast at Siciny's. Well, that's one
thing. We got time to sitback, relax and indulge in your weekly
tea. Welcome to breakfast at Sicinys. Well, it's good to be back.
Hello. Hi, it's Sisney andEric dub Hello. Are you perhaps
blonder? Oh? I sure am? You are? Okay? Love that

(00:25):
very plan I mean, yes,it was planning because I went to the
hair salon. But I think thegirl that so, the girl that does
my hair usually is on maternity leaveand I had a different girl do it.
And she did a great job,but I shouldn't. She just like
went a little lighter than I'm usedto, but it's kind of fun.
It's giving summer. I also didsay, like, you make me a

(00:47):
little lighter, so she literally didwhat I asked her to do. I
just this is like the lightest Ithink I've ever been in a really long
time, except for that one timewhen you were like very blonde. It's
getting there, Like I'm probably asessions away from that, like platinum looking
blonde. It took a little bite, a few sessions from platinum. I

(01:07):
think you can't really tell with thelighting, but I'm going to send you
some pictures where it looks really, really blonde. Okay, I'm looking you
up the office lights in this horriblering light that I have on me right
now. It's doing nothing for me. Okay, Well, everyone goes stalk
Systney on Instagram if you're listening tothis and let us know if you think
she's blonde. That's all. Yeah, I don't know. I'll have posted
recently sold. Oh I did.All right, there you go. How

(01:33):
are you? I'm great, justin between weekends of travel as always,
another wedding. You like the weddingA professional wedding guest. That's what I'm
trying to say when I've got itdown. Yeah, I had a wedding
last weekend, and then this comingweekend, I'm actually flying to Arizona because
my sister and her husband are finallygoing on their honeymoon. So they're dropping

(01:56):
their kids off at my mom's andI'm going to help her with them.
They're going to drop the kids off. Weight with you, I was like,
whoa who They're gone for a fullweek. I'm not taking them for
a week, but I'm going downfor two days to Okay, they're almost
three and one, So yeah, you need all hands on deck with kids
age exactly. So Veya gods inall directions right now, Like she cannot

(02:17):
be trusted. She knows how toopen exterior doors, like I mean,
all the things, so well, she's what she turns three this summer,
right, yeah, So I justI've probably mentioned this on the podcast,
but when we came to town,me and my boyfriend, and she was
being all lovey dovey with him andthen wanted him to open the pantry for

(02:38):
her. Do you remember how hardshe was pulling on that pantry to try
and get it open. We haveto put a lock on our pantry door
at the top, Like they havethese special child proof slighter locks that you
can put on like the very verytop of your doors, and that's what
we have to use there. Andbecause she's too smart to like figure out
the knob ones and even so she'sshe's not in chairs to the top of

(03:01):
it, but then like she stillcan't reach so oh my gosh, Yeah,
she is an all hands on deckkid right now. That she is
the reason we have to bolt allof our furniture to our rolls. What
do you mean by that? Imean, you just do that anyways as
safety precautions. But like the twinsnever did crazy climbing stuff, and like

(03:22):
she one does, like if shewants something, she's like, well,
I'll just put a chair here andclimb up this shelf. Oh my gosh,
that's terrifying. Yeah, that isterrifying. So yeah, make sure
you bolt all your furniture guys.Yeah, my goodness. Okay, how
are you to do other than havingto watch Saveyah like a hawk? I
know, I know that I'm beinga parent and this parenting thing is tough.

(03:45):
Yeah. We're on this crazy tourfor the Morning Show last week.
Yes, and it was like thetwentieth anniversary tour of Ryan seacrestbian on the
air. I have been with himfor almost a decade. Of those twenty
years, right and maybe and obviouslymore if you can't all the times that
I would fill in for Ellen kwhich dates back to like two thousand and
eight. So it truly was afull circle moment to hang out with listeners

(04:10):
and people that have just been fansof the show for all of these years.
And we hit up a bunch ofdifferent places that are significant to us,
like Chalk which is Childrens Hospital,Orange County, Disneyland, and my
high school, Low Salamados High School. I loved that. That was fun.
A bunch of businesses that were likeon the air throughout the years with
us, whether it may be someonehad just broken into them and looted them,

(04:34):
so we put them on the airto try to get their name out.
And our hometown hustlers, people thatchanged their careers to follow their dreams
and open up their own shop somewhere. So it was really really special and
really cool to meet everybody that we'vespoken to over the past few years.
And at the same time, wewere like in the sprinter van, about

(04:55):
twelve of us in there, Ryan, myself, Tanya Ruby, not Michaela.
It was Mariana and our producer Markand then a bunch of people from
like digital and engineers and things likethat. Hours were you in this sprinter
van? We were in the vanall day, you know what I mean?

(05:17):
Hours? Yeah, more than thatfourteen sixteen why we don't know about
the NA So it was it wasdefinitely you know what it was. It
wasn't like we were driving for sixteenhours straight, right, So you'd get
to a location and then it'd belike a twenty minute drive to the next
location or okay for at the most, you know. And it was fun

(05:40):
though, like there was you know, we were trying to play games or
I wanted to sleep at some parts, and yeah, it was. It
was just a really really fun andexciting time. And then we were still
calling into like the radio station andtalking to Gabby or Jojo the whole day.
Yeah, the whole day. Sothere was just NonStop action the entire
day. And I would love todo something like that again. Yeah,
that was really I was like followingalong obviously on social What day was it,

(06:04):
last Thursday? Last Thursday? Yeah, I was traveling myself. That
was when I was traveling to thatwedding and following along on social and I
remember like, you know, I'mat work, it's happening. I'm getting
to the airport. It's happening.I land in Colorado. You guys are
still in that van, and I'mjust like following everything. It looked so
fun. It was really really cool. I got home super late, just

(06:27):
in time for like bedtime routine, which in our family we do like bath
or shower, depending on how fastI want to bathe. The kids.
They sometimes throw all three of themin a shower. My gosh, it's
like literally hose them down and thenand then we brush teeth. And we
watched two episodes of Blue. OhI get to watch it like in our

(06:49):
bed, in our rooms. It'slike special and you know, it's just
what we do because episodes of Blueare seven minutes long, and it's not
realized they were so short. It'sthe perfect, you know, drop of
cartoon that you need to be likewhen they go one more episode and you're
like, okay, fine, sevenminutes and then I tie myself out.

(07:10):
I'm like, I've literally taken showersin like between the episode because I'm like,
okay, well they're gonna watch onmore episode. I'm gonna jump in
the shower and take a five minutesshower then get out. Yeah. So
I in our house, we liveit's like our lifestyle, to live our
life by Blue episodes because we're liketires. It's there, and all three
kids enjoy Blue. Yes, nowthey do. Savea was a little up
on the young end, I wouldsay, even like six months ago maybe,

(07:34):
but oh she is all in nowand it's yeah, we are a
Blue family to the Max actually went, I never posted these pictures, but
I should probably post them. Theyhad this whole Blue exhibit at the Century
City mall, and uh it wasreally you basically were in Blue's house and
the kids loved it. It waslike so fun to be in there.

(07:57):
So I should post those, youknow, being posting stuff, I just
you know, I have so muchcontent on my phone that if I could
just give it to someone to postfor me, it'd be great. So
one day, one day, you'llsee that. But there's a specific episode,
and if you're a parent, youdefinitely saw this. It's the episode
called the Sign, and it airedprobably three weeks ago at this point.

(08:18):
Okay, I've heard about this episode. I've not seen it. You should
watch it, Erica, even thoughever seen an episode of Bluie this,
watch it and tell me again, like really watch it. Don't be on
your phone or ever. It's sothey called it the super sized episode because
it was not seven minutes. Itwas twenty eight minutes. Oh my gosh,

(08:39):
I know. So it's almost halffarm. But it's super emotional because
it's about a Blue's family selling theirhome and they're gonna move because their dad
got a new job a different partof town, so they're completely leaving town
or whatever. So they put afor sale sign in the front yard and
that's why it's called the sign, okay, and so it's all about this

(09:03):
signe and like then the kids arelike, I hate that sign. That
sign means that we're moving and ohh whatever, right, So the episode
goes on and then I don't wantto give it away, but I've seen
it now three four times with thekids and I am a blubbering, like
cry baby mess at the end.It really just and I think maybe I'm

(09:24):
more sensitive because we just sold herhome. Yeah, and it was and
it was like the house that likethe kids came home from the hospital in
and they took their first steps andlike all of that. So you feel
all those emotions because the mom inthe episode is kind of like reminiscing about
that as well. And you seelike the stain marks on the floor from

(09:46):
when they lift up the rug andthat, like you know things, it's
just like little tiny details that arejust so realistic. But I think the
thing with Bluie is that the parentstheir reactions to the things, and like,
aside from this episode, any episodelike the reactions of how they are
with the kids is so realistic ofhow you are as a parent in real

(10:07):
life. So it's made by parents. Yeah, I mean I should do
a deeper dive of like the creativeit. But you know, for example,
let's say you uh, it's football. It's football season, and it's
you know, I'm watching this.Me and Michael are watching the Chargers play,
and we just it's a big game. We want to watch this.

(10:28):
But then the kids run in andthey're like, play with me, we
want to do this, we wantto do that. And in our head
we're like, oh, but thegame, and like it's literally like the
dad or like react like that orwhatever. And and then there's another episode
where the mom is the kids arelike building forts in like the living room,
normal, normal Sunday afternoon. Iliterally built forts with your kids from

(10:48):
exactly, it's just like they're buildingforts. The dad's watching a rugby game,
and then the mom has a tapemeasure and she's going around the house
being like, you know, ifwe knock down this wall, then this
we give so much more space.Literally, like what I would do on
like a weekend or Sunday afternoon andI'm trying to like figure out how we
can maximize the space in our livingroom. We just move this table over
here. That's all we need todo, and it's just a breezing Yeah,

(11:11):
it's really cute scenarios like that,so highly recommend kids are not.
Do your kids sit through the twentyeight minute episode? Yeah? They tool
on do And sometimes I'll be likeone more episode and I'll be like,
Okay, can we watch the Sign? And I'm like, no, sneaky
little rats. Well, I'll tryto watch it this weekend with my nephews.

(11:33):
Yes, the one should would betoo little, but the three year
old he loves Bluey so exactly. And if you want to warm up to
the Sign, watch a few oflike the other episodes because they're just cute.
Yes, and then and then watchthe Sign and you will I want
to know if you cry, becauseI probably will have been crying a lot
late. I'll let it out tothe sign. You need to have a

(11:56):
good cries. Speaking of crying.Okay, so back to now reality TV.
I need to discuss the Valley becausethere is I I might say the
Valley is better than vander Pump thisseason, and you know, what.
I haven't even caught folly up toVanderpump right now because it is a little

(12:16):
lagging. I feel like not alot has happened, the same drama keeps
happening. Where really, I havea serious question for you. Okay,
is every married couple miserable because inthe show it's not like that. Okay,
the valley is not really like this, Okay, Okay, so it's
not totally real on reality TV.No, But I am a true believer

(12:37):
that reality TV will ruin relationships, like I just think it will. I
think that on it the fame, the pressure of like I don't know,
I just think every fight, Ijust I personally would never like if you
would have asked me when I wastwenty five, Like I met Mike when

(12:58):
I'll twenty five and he was twentythree, And if you would have asked
us to be in a reality TVshow at that time, I probably would
have said yes for sure. Yeah, But now I just feel, I
mean, it seems like nobody's safe. I mean, look at Mauricio and
Kyle Richards one, like that wasa couple that I thought for sure was

(13:20):
solid, and like just not sayinglike the show is what tore them one
part guests, I am trying tosay the show is with hers your part,
but I just think the thing whichchange in general, and then you're
it's I don't know if it's yourimage, but I feel as if the
pressure of your image then gets morphedwith reality and what you really truly love

(13:41):
about that person. So I justthink in relationships, you're supposed to change.
That's fine, We're supposed to changetogether. And do we know many
like reality TV couples that actually arestill together. I mean, obviously Lisa
vander Pump and Ken, but he'snot like in the drama of the show.
No, Sharon Osbourne and Ausy Osborne. There you go, great example

(14:09):
of who else. Oh, Iknow, she's not on reality TV anymore.
I was gonna say Teddy Mellencamp andher husband. Yeah, she's not
on Real Hotwives. She's not onanymore. But I feel like some people,
right, it's like they get out. But yeah, the valley is
interesting because I did not expect somuch issues with these married couples, right,

(14:35):
and then like the girls fighting andsuch, but that that you kind
of do expect, or the girlseven fighting with the guys too, who
are not their partners. All theKristen stuff is just like, oh my
gosh, Yeah, I'm really curiousto see if she stays with this guy
and they do end up having ababy, right, I mean, I
hope so for her sake. Butyou know the thing with The Valley is

(14:56):
that there is one person who watchesit that I am absolutely shocked by.
It's Rihanna. Oh I saw thisclip. Yes, and she says she's
obsessed with it because they're all parentsand they're all crazy and that's relatable.
Well, look, the parent andthe craziness is relatable. Yes, the

(15:18):
like fighting with your spouse all thetime or I mean just being disrespected and
right, and especially if cameras arerolling, Like gosh, what happens when
the cameras are not there, Iknow, unless they're playing it up.
Look, Jackson is a very I'llgive it to him that he knows what
sells, like, he knows whatpeople want to see on TV. So

(15:41):
he could be like completely exaggerating hisness. That's even the word for the sake
of the show, because look,we're all watching it because he's such a
dick to Britney, right, andso it's also moved out allegedly, So
I mean all of it. Iyes, who knows what's really what's not
so to speak. Yeah, butI would not want to be in that

(16:03):
position. It just seems like there'sno love on in a few of those
couples I know, and they're like, oh, I applied for an apartment
and I'm like, oh my gosh. Some of them haven't even been married
that long. You know, who'sreally cute is the couple with the twins.
And of course I'm biased, Yes, yes, it seems like he
really loves her and and is likeSuDS right, the reverse from Miami.

(16:29):
So they have like a two yearold and then they have the twin newborn
girls, and it just seems likehe's like superhands on and supportive and like
obviously she's dealing with all of herpostpartum stuff, which I, for one,
completely relate to. And you feelit different from a singleton birth versus

(16:49):
a twin birth. Oh you thinka hundred I didn't have postpartum after Savellah.
Do you think that was being asecond time mom or do you think
that was having one compared to twowhere you may be a mixture of both
because yes, obviously you have alittle bit more experience, like I got
mistaitis with the twin twins, andlike everything can go wrong like happened my

(17:15):
first postpartum or yeah, and soyeah, maybe you learn a little bit
and whatever. But but I thinkit's just the amount of hormones. You've
doubled the hormones being pumped, andit really just it it. I don't
know, it's hard to explain,like it's a depression, but you're not,
like you're not sobbying every single day. You're just like still yeah,

(17:42):
and it's so annoying that you can'tjust be happy or you can't just feel
like yourself. And you're like, when am I going to feel like myself
again? When am I going tofeel like myself again? What does that
even feel? Like? I don'tremember? Blah blah blah, And like
then your head starts spinning, andthen you're like and then the baby starts
crying. You're just like back init, and then like, okay,
there's no time to even think aboutthis. Did you even have time to

(18:03):
feel overwhelmed or were you simply justfunctioning? I think I was functioning,
And then I think when I gotmisditis. That was the turning point well,
because remember I had a weird belspalsy thing that happened to me.
That was that was premastaitus. Sothat was day seven of the twins being

(18:23):
born. Okay, yeah, Andfunny we're talking about this right now because
the twins are turning six tomorrow.Oh my gosh. Yes, So it's
truly like kind of funny that I'malmost talking about my birth story for them.
And seven days after they were born, I went to get ready.
It was Mother's Day, and Iwas like the first time I've looked in

(18:45):
the mirror valid now. And Iwent to go put blush on, you
know how you kind of smile toput your brush on, and like half
of my face moved and the otherhalf just did not move. And that's
why I was like what in theworld, And I had to go get
a brain mri. Like right inmy head, I'm like thinking the worst,
Like carry just had these beautiful twinsand I could have a brain tumor,

(19:07):
like who I weeded, ton't know. We had to rule everything out.
Luckily, it was the fact thatI was just so extremely swollen that
my nerves were not like that's right, connecting with my brain and my face
nerves, like they were almost likemini migrains that I got that affected the
way my face muscles worked or whatever. And so they had to put me

(19:30):
like a super low dosage steroid sothat I could get movement back, and
it took like six weeks, andlike, as you're trying to breastfeed children,
so that's why they'd do a lowdose. Right, I'm assuming exactly,
exactly exactly, And also it's justall new. I'm like, what
is this? And then then you'reand like I remember those first few weeks
I'll have I don't have many pictureswith the twins because I was like ashamed.

(19:52):
I don't know, it's just sostupid. So that kicked off the
postpartum depression, I think, justreally wrong. Yeah, it was just
like you these babies and not you, ugly. I mean that's how I
felt at least. Yeah, Andso from there, breastfeeding is isolating as
shit. I don't care what anybodysays. It's like some moms can be
like, oh, it's a beautifulthing, and like you may you may

(20:12):
be a mom that can whip outyour tit and I'm just not that mom,
like I have never I've never havebeen like, I don't like changing
in front of my friends, LikeI just you know, so it's not
the don't come natural to me,so to speak. And I would go
into the bedroom and I would pumpexclusively, or I would feed when the
babies alone, and it was isolating. I remember I'd watch Friends episodes because

(20:33):
it was like the amount of timethat I should be pumping, like twenty
five minutes or so, and thenI just poof those overnight pump sessions.
Yeah, that's when it went toshit. And you were also I mean
like you're doing double when you havetwins, so you're like it's isolating,
and then it's like and you're doingit all the time. It's all you're
doing on some level the cycle.Yeah, like you feed them, you

(20:57):
pump, you diaper, you putthem down, they sleep, then you
have to go wash your pump gear. You have to then have it ready
for the next session, and thenmaybe forty five minutes later you start the
whole process over again, like youdid. So you got to do this
crap all I had a few yearsyou every day. But the reason I

(21:19):
got missed itdus was because I skippedthose overnight pump sessions. We would feed
the babies and Mike would be like, go pump, and I'd be like,
right, I would sleep, andthen I just never did. I'd
be like, I'll be fine,I'll just you know, wait till five
am. And then I was no. And so then I got mistiitus.
What week was that or month? So by this point it was probably the

(21:41):
third month. Oh okay, andyeah, And so I had by this
point had already been diagnosed with likea well, I mean, what we're
doing is postpartum depression. So Iwas on some medication for that, which
is I guess was helping. Butthen the mistitus happened. And the only
way to get through missidy is topump exclusively more or like basically like double

(22:06):
it up or just breastfeed the babiesmore because that's the only way they get
to like suck it out of you. It's so gross to think about.
It's basically clogged milk duct duckts soundsextremely painful. It feels like your boobs
are on fire, like it's soweird, and they look red on the
outside. It's like a that isso wild. This is turning into a
very graphic podcast. You know what, we didn't come here list today,

(22:27):
Okay, got it to let itout. I you know, I think
I was reflecting on this driving intowork today, and how like at this
time, it's obviously six years ago. I was so goddamn huge with these
two babies in me, thirteen poundsbaby, and I could barely take a
step like it was just you wereworking from home. It's a miracle how

(22:49):
we women give birth, like haveour bodies completely transform into like a vessel
essentially freaking submarine, and then poopthese babies out and then you snap back
and then you do it again twoyears later. Yeah well yeah yeah,

(23:10):
So wait with it being when's thebirthday party? We had it already last
weekend? You did have it,okay, and how little? Again I
did not post because why would Iget to round posting. So we had
a little birthday party for them atDave and Busters and it was really really
cute. How did the water bottlesgo? Oh? They went great,
They were ahead. Moms loved andthe kids loved him. They thought they
were so cute. And then Iof course panics done. I was like

(23:33):
I need to get some sort oflike candy of course, and you know
a little like sugar fiena, sugarfiena. Am I saying it right?
Little boxes, those little boxes ofcandy. So I did those. I
did like rainbow gummy bears for theboys and rainbow butterflies for the girls.
And they were all thrilled. Iwasn't watching Savey and she hit the whole
box like in ten minutes and thatwas like Holly grab. She was like

(23:56):
finished. I was like, dudewith my friend and I was like,
did she did eat the whole bux? She's like I ate some She's like
I like, why didn't you stopher? Like not my kid. Girl
doesn't have a kid. We have. We have kids at are exact same
age. But she didn't bring hera little She didn't bring Salona. She
brought just Cortez, which is ourvery older son that's the same age as

(24:18):
the twins. Having Savannah, therewas a I mean, I can't tell
you how many times we las Savea. Like I was like, I was
like, Michael, she with you. I thought she was with you and
we're like just running around David Buster'sfind her and she's just like in a
monster killing booth with a gun.You know. I used to think like,

(24:40):
oh, man, Asa is goingto be your your trouble, you
know. I think Savella is goingto be your trouble. Like we're in
it right now. Because it's terribletwos. Yeah, I just don't remember
them, I guess with the twins. And and also we were in a
pandemic, so there were they werea lot more contained. They were not
running around Davidmposter No. And sothat the twins turned two May second of

(25:03):
twenty twenty. Yeah, so wewere like in the thick of the pandemic
for the majority of that year.I remember the only thing we did that
year was we took a family vacationto a house that we rented in San
Diego that summer, like that Augustand then everything was back to lockdown,
if you'll remember that fall, andI remember Thanksgiving we were one family.

(25:23):
Well, you conceived Savellah that whenyou got pregnant. That's when I conceived
Savella. And then even Christmas wassuper small. It was just my parents
that came over that Christmas. Andso it was a really interesting year as
far as like containing two year oldtwins probably was the best case scenario that
could have happened to us, rightat least with twins, and that it's

(25:45):
just one with her she's started killinggun. Yeah, oh she's going to
be cut like a shaggy little dog. This is why you need to post
photos so that we can all seethis exactly. So anyways, back to
the valley. Yes, I forgother name, but the one that's got
the twins, that's going through it, it will pass. Hang in there,

(26:07):
and I am, along with manyother moms' I'm assuming relate to you.
It probably passes so much faster thanyou realize, Like can you believe
it's spent six years? No?And I you know, I I want
to get annoyed. But whenever someonetold me like, oh, it goes
first, I just kind of brushedit off because in my head, they're
like my lasers, Like they're solittle right now, like right, who
knows? But yeah, it's likethe fact that they're almost inn with kindergarten.

(26:32):
I was just thinking, I'm like, what the hell am I going
to do with them for three months? Like this summer? Oh no,
no, summer camps. I haven'tlike thought that far ahead, Like no,
because last year they were so inpreschool and the preschool extended, like
we could do the summer program.I was like, oh, that's great,
and I have not I was literallylooking at one and it was like
three thousand dollars. I was likeher head. I'm like, I'm sorry,

(26:56):
y'all are staying at home and we'llcolor. Yeah, Oh my gosh,
oh my gosh, they're gonna befirst graders. Yeah, they're gonna
be first graders. Like that, they were so little. I know,
it's flying by so much. Ineed to put to day in school because
she wants to go to school everysingle day. Oh so she would go

(27:17):
to preschool, pre school and thennot this coming year, but one after
she would go to kindergarten. Iknow. So yes, technically I need
to figure out the log and Prive'venot need to talk about this, but
if someone knows, actually DM me. Yeah. I think the that it
used to be like September first, that was the cutoff, but I think
now they moved it too August firstbecause most schools start in August and she's

(27:41):
August seventeenth baby, So she cantechnically start in TK just after one year
of preschool, which would make herstarting like at like three and some like
and turning four that week, likeshe would be turning four that way,
but it wouldn't be kindergarten. Itwould be like, what's TK, It's

(28:03):
like transitional kindergarten, and then thenext year would be kindergarten exactly. But
transitional kindergarten is offered at the elementaryschool that the kids go to, which
is public. And if we hadto do TK at the preschool for the
twins because they weren't within the agerange of doing TK in public school,
Okay, so I'm just being cheap. I'm just saying, like I had

(28:25):
to pay for a whole other yearof private school when for two of them.
But the cute thing about it wasthat they did like a whole little
like cap and gown graduation for them, and so yeah, that was nice,
But I have to buy her capand gown on Amazon. Just do
it, Just do it in thebackyard. That's all we need. It's
okay, she won't remember it exactly. Hopefully by then we have somewhat of

(28:48):
a backyard that's like decent, Likewhy what's all? That's for another podcast
up right now? And the organizing, and there's a lot of dirt and
oh boy, summer. We don'thave a good backyard right now. You
no, you if you're saying, you looking things up. And also the
kids are about to be home forthree months. Yeah, it's gonna be

(29:08):
fine, fine, be fine, all right, that's gonna do it for
us. Thank you for hanging andwe will. I'll check back in with
you, I guess soon.
