Run and run a right, wegot another episode of bringing the juice in
Dallas. My boy Frank here, letting me go home. Man around here
in Dallas for one boy, Bobby, you know what's that? Bobby?
How y'all doing? How y'all done? Bobby, Bro Bobby, Bobby,
Bobby got again. We were talkingabout for the pop role. I need
I need a juice box chain myneck. It feels sore because I keep
(00:24):
I keep like slinging myself back.I don't got enough ice on the on
the neck itself. UH need alittle bit of you know. They hit
the weight room a couple of timesso I could get get used to that
juice box on the neck. Bobby. First of all, appreciate you having
the patience to come out in support. Appreciate also secondly, Uh, we've
had a long day and I don'tknow, I'm most excited for this interview
(00:47):
out of everything, the chemistry, the vibes, the energy, the juice,
we're in those right now. Iwas I was bragging about you last
Yeah, he was talking. Iwas talking about Bobby. Shut it down.
He said, he was like, yeah, Bobby, he's having a
barbecue next week to a whoop. But I'm like, that's my kind of
guy. Like guys, who hostbro? Are you are you a big
hoster? I wouldn't No, Iwouldn't say that. It's just uh so
(01:11):
the reason he brought up the barbecuesbecause it's something I like to do for
my people. Yeah, every year. And you take care of your people.
Yes, yeah, I like that. That's what it's all about at
the end of the day. Sogoing from let's just backtrack right now,
you got a ring, right,yeah, I do, Yeah, I
do. So you know Juju Hughes, Yes, yeah, that's that's that's
(01:38):
my roommate two years for really,I didn't even know that. You know
that. Good dude though, gooddude, but he know I beat him
up through on a regular you know, when the toothpickles on out of hand,
it's crazy. Oh no, hethat's that's him. That's part of
him. No, we know sono, but the dudes got some white
(02:00):
Howdy's gonna have a truth paste dealat this point and the right people marketing
and the right people. Yeah.Right, Mike's going from a psychological standfield.
So we were talking about the partythe Black Party is putting up for
people right, it's about to bethe family. Yeah. Yeah, okay,
so that's that's just my little brandI got started, you know,
as you can see it in thehat. Yes please, we're looking at
(02:23):
the camera cooking that. Yeah.Yeah, yeah, it's just you know
something I'm trying to another project thatmom trying to put together with a few
of my friends I grew up with. UM. You know, at the
end of the day, like Isaid, the goal is to you know,
take care of your people absolutely anyway, shape or form that is,
(02:43):
where it's mental, physical, oremotional. You know what I'm saying.
So we're all going through something andit's always good. It just had
somebody to lean on, you know, Bobby, I mean you're talking about
fat That's It's one thing we talkedabout bringing the juice. UM. Guys
could get as vulnerable as they wanted. But like the game of football,
it's an emotional the game, broit takes a lot to get to this
(03:04):
point. Uh. It takes alot to get out of high school point
fan. I mean, there's alot of shows you in that it's a
business. There's there's people that arecoming after you, wold, bad and
ugly. Everyone has their experiences.You. I mean, you're you're in
the league, you're established, youhave a Super Bowl ring, right,
which we're gonna really dive into. But why do you why do you wake
up every morning in chase greatness?Um, it's just for me personally.
(03:30):
I wake up with like the ideaof putting my people on, Like that's
that's why I started this brand. That's why I try to put it in
people's faces to see, yes, understand my mission and my goal because it's
like, like I've lived a coollife already. You know. You know,
we're gonna keep it going. We'regonna keep rolling. But it's like
(03:50):
I want my mom and my dadto be able to see some of the
things that you know, this bringsinto this life. Like eventually, like
one of my goals to retire myparents, which feel that I can do
that really soon. That way theycan go and live life because you know,
growing up, you know, wewere struggling a little bit. Yeah,
and um, you know I don'treally know the full details, just
(04:11):
because I was living in my ownworld trying to chase the games, you
know stream, Yeah, chase hisdream. Um, so you know a
lot of times I just watched myparents just struggle right now. I just
want to see them just kicking theirfeet up happy, you know, because
they've been working absolutely since before evenout right right, and and it's always
(04:31):
been, you know, living paycheckto paycheck, and it's I want to
I want to change the gas cycle. So feed the family itself. I
mean, I'm sure you guys havea legit mission statement, but like,
what what is the endgame top goalyou can do? Really just like do
something, you know, give backto the community right the end of the
(04:54):
day. Because and you're a Texasman, yeah and all. And I'm
really a family man, like I'mreally a absolutely anybody I consider my family,
whether it's my friends I grew upwith or even blood related family.
Like they know, if you partof my group, part of my people,
I'm gonna take care of you.I'm always do what I have to
do to take care of you.So does this whole feed the family?
(05:15):
You're trying to grow your circle, elevate yourself because obviously you're doing that from
the athletic version, but you butwith athletics comes to this platform, and
look, some guys take advantage ofit and and and and grow it.
We were talking Baby Grown to nottalking about we were talking about We interviewed
Baby Grown today. We were discussingthe situation. Say what you want,
(05:39):
the dude is growing a brand.Yeah, indeed, and say whether it's
in a positive I think it isin a positive outlook. If it's a
father and a son and they're tryingto grow, say what you want?
Are they are they really like gettingafter it? Yes, and we'll leave
that aside. But at the endof the day, like they are trying
to elevate each other, Like thisdad is trying to help his son,
(06:01):
just set him up for success. And we mentioned like LaVar Ball earlier today
with the with the with the Ballbrothers, like but people didn't like the
dad for a period of the time. He thought he was you know,
like I don't say cocky or oror out of pocket, but like,
dude, you've got three sons thatplay in the league like my division.
(06:23):
It basically all I'm getting that,Bobby is for you to understand you have
this platform and you have the abilityto make a difference off of that,
and you use it in a positivelight which will help the people around you
grow and succeed. That takes asense of maturity. I mean, that's
that's respect to you. Brother. That's then like you pretty much laid out
(06:43):
the blueprint. That's how I'm rightelevate those that I love around me,
right, so we can all kindof live this life the way we want
to live and right have to justwork for somebody and have to do this,
have to do something we don't lovejust to survive. You know what
I'm saying. If you're taking careof the neighborhood. Yeah, we touched
on it earlier. Um, youknow the block party of the barbecue through
(07:03):
block party. I brought my familyand I brought my girl, bout my
baby. You know, we wentout there. We showed a love support.
Um, I mean just we wereout there. I'm my girls out
there. Okay, who's that? That's Kyla Murray? Like like you know
what I'm saying, Like you don'tsay like it's it's it's family out here.
And that's the one thing that like, you know, when when I
came out to when I moved outhere to Texas, like Texas is known
(07:24):
for football, Like this is afootball place. And so we were this
block party with my son. He'srunning around the playground stuffout that, Like,
what the hell Kyler Murray right thereand I didn't know that. Y'all
two were like, you know, like really plugged in like that. So
like take us through that, like, well, what relation how that relationship
started? Um, it's started inhigh school because we were the same class
and uh he played at Allen.Yeah, yeah, we played at Allen
(07:45):
together in Oklahoma. Both. Yeah, I've been playing with him for a
while. Yeah, so uh butyeah, he uh he started this sophomore
year. Um, I'm not surewhich game was, I can't remember,
but this high school, yeah, this high school at some point during the
season, little Kyler. Yeah, but he was as soon as he hit
the field, he became big quick, real quick, right because but I
(08:09):
I didn't get up to varsity mysophomore year until the playoffs because they asked
some of the younger guys to comeup. You know, he finish that
run and stuff like that, andI came in. I was just a
little blocking tight end and stuff likethat. But I was out there making
a name for myself, got mescholarships and yeah, damn, I made
the transition to old line and Istarted blocking for him and stuff like that.
(08:31):
So, I mean, I wantto touch on So one of our
good friends, James Bailey, heplayed at Lake Travis. He was my
roommate for four years of President StateDog And when he came in he started
as a true which at the time, and I mean, you know,
as well as anything. But I'dbe like, if you come into any
college football territory, you're just startingas a true like automatically, automatically.
(08:52):
And Lake Travis like his fun fact, Uh, we had a few things
in coming. We like to drinkbeers. I'll believe about that. But
he was like, yo, yeah, man, I'm gonna Baker midfields.
He was my high school quarterback. And I'm like, oh, better than
my high school quarterback. But likewe were talking and I and I really
(09:15):
wasn't open to the idea of Texashigh school football. Um, and you
went to Alan, which when yougoogle crazy high school football games, Alan's
the first one that pops up.Let's talk Allen Texas football right now,
Bobby, give it to me.So, I mean, that's the cream
of the crop. You feel likeit's different, It's it's yes, it's
(09:37):
definitely him. Um, because whenwe was growing up a lot of people
was mad because they were thinking wewere getting transfers in and blah blah blah.
But it was like, if youreally go back and look at the
teams I played with, a lotof them kids was actually local and Alan,
like a lot of us played footballat a young age and kind of
(09:58):
like by the time we got tohigh school are level of knowledge in the
game and experience and stuff. Whenyou combine all those kids into one high
school, of course we're gonna bedominant, Like we've been doing this for
a long time. But when yousay we've been doing this a long time,
so like when did you start playingfootball? I started second grade.
So it is that same offense fromsecond grade through high school. When you're
(10:18):
in the Island program, Na nodifferent. Nah, so little league football,
little league football, that's something don'twin. Yeah, I mean we
was out there. We was atthere still hoping. We was there still,
sir. I mean not my Like, my first team that I played
on was the Texans. We weren'tthat good, but like I made so
many I made so many good friendson that team, right, and then
(10:39):
we kind of like changed our identitywent to the Titans, And when when
we became the Titans. This issome little league. That's when we was
really out there like beating people likewe was at there winning was that there?
See That's that's one thing that Iwant to touch on them because you
said to feed the family. That'sthe brand. That's everything you want to
get back. I mean, it'sa it's a family community. I mean,
like I didn't come on that likealways to be both playing in the
(11:01):
league. Colin Murge, Color Murray. You know what I'm saying for him
to show to a block party, like you know what I'm saying like that,
it just speaks sense loyalty, bro, Like the community, like it's
this is a real community organization, like the place I want to grow my
stand up. You know what I'msaying, Like it's a place like I
want to When I see that,I was okay, like for real life.
This is this is real family tieshere, yeah, bro, Because
I'm saying like we all don't likeeven in that football program, we haven't
(11:26):
been through some adversity in that program. People hate us like got it's always
always always how many people with thatstadium? Um, how many did it
hold? I don't want to saythe wrong Yeah, that's good. That's
good. It's good. That's acouple of thousand, but it might.
(11:46):
I want to I want to sayit's biggest in the country high school.
I want to say eighteen. Iwant to say eighteen thous. I want
to say, if we had,if we had eighteen hundred arrival night,
I'm back there swagging Mike, swaggingwhite boy. Now that's why nice.
So take us through the recruitment goingon, you all that, like,
(12:07):
what made you go there? Whatmade you like choose that over? My
dad actually played basketball in Oklahoma andfive okay, so I can see that.
Yeah, I've always wanted to goto Oklahoma. I always watched the
football growing up, basketball and soum wants me and my older brother got
offers there. I committed early, like you played with your brother in college.
(12:31):
But so the thing is, Iain't get to play with him that
long because he had too many concussions, so he had to retire. Damn,
he was the old liner. Hewas a linebacker. I'm telling you
that if he would have, ifhe would have kept playing like that guy,
he was nice. My brother wasnice. That was somebody always looked
up to when we was growing what'sthe age difference a year? Oh oh
(12:54):
wow your best friends. You guysboth got the offers like that time.
Okay, yeah, there you go, damn Bron like your dad played there.
I mean, what what made youchoose football into the basketball? Then?
Big dude, you can play basketball? Yeah, but like the position
I was playing a basketball. Youcan't be six pot six five places you
(13:16):
can't. You can't. I meanwas Barkley, I mean what was different?
Time different? Very true, andnow they're making aliens now the butts.
Donald's just in here at six eight, bro, he's like you have
short for the MBA, Like,I mean, he could probably make some
(13:37):
plays though he's six eight. Iseen on the little sports Academy. Who
go imna have to check them outhips? Yeah no, but just like
that's dope though. I mean youjust so like you knew, like oh
us where I want to go?Yeah? Always when other schools came and
give you offer just like I'm lookingin our lives. So there was other
schools like uh old Miss, likeArkansas, Texas, Baylor, um,
(14:05):
and like it was like I wasgetting offers. I was. I was
a fourth star. Okay, Ididn't go to the humble brag. Humble
brag, Like I didn't go tothe I don't know how it came forest.
I didn't go to any camps ornothing like that, like because that's
what I started to realize, yea, Like people started going to them,
uh what you call them, therivals and type of camps to get their
stars up? All right? Isthat what I'm not doing that? So
(14:26):
I never never went. But beinga Texas guy, I mean, I
know that a lot of Oklahoma's teamis from Texas and all that, but
like, did you ever have anydid did the thought ever cross your mind?
Like, Hey, I I'm aTexas man, I want to stay
in Texas. I ain't gonna lietalk to talk to me about almost about
(14:50):
almost committed to you and I'm notkidd lie. But the only reason I
didn't because they didn't offer my brother. Oh you went that loyalty. But
I'm sorry that burnt Orange. It'sso sick, man. Look I know
you that was my dream school.Yeah, but that was that was my
dream school, was Notre Dame TexasAnd forstance, it just me like I
(15:13):
don't know what, I don't knowwhat it is, bro, Like they
just like you know, linebacker.I'm thinking, like, it's just big
time I can see for linebackers football. Yeah yeah, I just thought on
my skin tone all white with theburnt orange is a white West slot would
be. So did you have Youhad Baker and Kyler? You never had
Jayalen though, right, No,I was gone back. Okay, you
(15:35):
had some good company say that.Yeah, and you guys want I mean
you guys you want to ring everyyear? Then? Uh conference? Yeah
right right? Yeah? Yeah, you were with uh what's the name Caleb
Kelly. Yeah, he's from home. He's from my hometown. Oh for
real? Yeah, yeah, wejust playing dude though. Yeah. Yeah,
(15:58):
he's still there. He's coaching,doing something. He's more involved.
I mean, owe you. Ihave a cousin who she's graduating in uh,
you know whatever. A couple ofweeks and she's she's about to owe
you. She's like all in,bro, she's gone. She got the
super boomer. And I was like, I don't come visit, do your
thing. I don't know, butdo your thing. And uh it seems
(16:21):
slit though, bro. And she'slike she's already talking like sororities, like
they ain't now don't sleep people thinklike Oklahoma is like just this place where
it's like there's nothing, which, don't get me wrong, Like Oklahoma is
still Oklahoma. And then they develop, they developing, you know what I'm
saying. But Norman itself in Oklahoma, you can have you a good time.
(16:41):
Do you fly into Norman? Idry from me from here? Yea
from me? How far is that? Bro't a lot of people who live
there who go to games. That'sliterally why a lot of people from Texas
go to Oklahoma. Yeah, soit's far enough away from home, but
not too far right. So youstill so, Bobby, I mean,
(17:02):
you have your time at OU.You guys went some big games. You're
part of some great moments in Oklahomahistory. You have some NFL quarterbacks along
the way. You have to playwith your bro for a little bit.
That's awesome. You end up asa third round draft pick. Talk to
me about that transition, talking abouttalking about build up, So that build
(17:23):
up itself as as Mike can probably, Yeah, it's one of the most
stressful times your life. Yeah, because it's like, what do you think
you were going? I really thoughtI would have been in like uh with
the Panthers or like the Dolphins oraround, though I don't know where around
to be honest. Okay, Iwas kind of like a guessing game for
(17:44):
me in a way. Was therea chance for you, like maybe first,
maybe fifth? Yeah, because likein the first round, a lot
of big names kind of started goingsomething like maybe I hit like twenty eight,
maybe I can hit that second roundsomething like that, and then the
third round kind of started going I'mlike, maybe I hit the fourth.
Did you do a draft party oris it like because see you see,
like the only reason I didn't becauseI knew I wasn't going first round,
(18:07):
which you know, I wish Icould have, but at the end of
the day, like everything happens fora reason whatever, But I wanted to
throw a party afterwards just to makesure I get locked in the party.
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, you feel me, because like I didn't
want to be one of them typesto throw a party and then like just
ruin the party of everybody because I'msad, you know, and it's like
(18:30):
no, no, no shot,no shots, that nobody going through that.
But because of those people that wentthrough that, I didn't want to
go through that. Yeah. Imean, like, but you were like
dude, go on day two,day one, Day two, that's a
big deal. Like that was abig deal. Guy, I want day
three. I mean, just donot even have to turn it on.
Like honestly, you might turn onto see your people if they get picked
up for some of that, butlike you're set, like you already picked
(18:52):
up, Like like what goes throughyour because me, like the draft in
California on day three is nine amin the morning. So I, luckily
I was blust to draft. Iprobably got drafted around like ten, ten
fifteen, ten twenty am. Wewere gone by ten forty fives. So
like you, I said, likelike Julio, shout out of Keyshawn Johnston,
(19:12):
Julio, all the draftees. Likeday two, you're done, Like
you're set. You got drafted,Like what what's what's that mindset like for
you? Uh, just get preparedto transition everything at that point. Like
So, what I like to tellguys coming out of college is like that
step push off the cliff. Eithergonna fly or you're gonna sink. Yeah,
(19:33):
a lot of times you'll see alot of guys will sink because it's
a lot they get thrown, theyget thrown as much once. It's like,
I gotta learn about taxes. Igotta learn about, bro, paystis
and paychecks. I gotta learn aboutand you and you got drafted to callis,
so now you learn about right,And that's the robbery, right man.
They're taking it every time too. It's like main't no and no little
(19:56):
window for I mean, let's let'slet's talk about that taxes thing real quick.
I mean I've said it on thepod before, Bro, but like
it is bizarre to me. Idon't know the Texas education system. I
know friends knows, I know alittle bit of calies. But I'm saying
this, how is it that thereis not a single class. Let's say
we're seniors, okay, in highschool, second semester, first spect we
(20:17):
want to do? You just learnabout I'm talking like clean cut basics,
no details of how you get taxed, what they even are, how you
pay them, what the percentages, property tax, income tax, there's those
accounting accounting right, what a writeoff is? Like, there's so much
(20:41):
out there, and I gotta goread get rich Dad, poor dad?
Or so Like when I started withthe juice, I went to a dark
hole, Bro, I'm talking likea rabbits hole where I'm audiobooking like brought
and make some bread? Bro?What am I gonna do? Right?
And I'm I'm listening to these audiobook Somethinge's driving like three hundred miles a
day and I think myself like, also, I at this point and no
(21:06):
disrespect to friends, would say Itook accounting. I took these things,
but you can't. And I havemy agricultural business degree, like I'm I
know, Mike, but it's like, bro, like, why can't somebody
And I hate saying this, butwhy can't someone has put the fourth grade
version clean cut, color coded,Listen, buddy, in high school,
(21:26):
this is what you need to do. Hey, get ready for this,
buddy, boy. And it's like, dude, they don't learn it until
you're drops into the system and youstart making bread. And I'm sure Bob,
you have some mentor in your lifeand said, hey, listen,
you gotta say this money because you'regonna pay one hundred thousand dollars on tack
this next year. And you're thinkingof yourself. I'm thinking of my what,
(21:49):
bro, Like, man, ifI have to pay three hundred dollars
for some you know late Rent,I'm like, I know it's in the
thousands, just to the state,to the governor. Mean like it is
a wake up call, and Idon't know how it is. There is
not a mandated class course whatever youwant to call it called uh being a
(22:12):
human or American life flihood like whateveryou want to call it. Well,
it just teaches you, bro,because it's like that's that's what I feel
like, that's what a lot ofthese athletes are missing because I think a
lot of times us being you know, in those games and stuff, we
kind of miss out on a lotof reality because sports and generals its own
(22:37):
little world. And and when youwhen you're in that world, you kind
of stuck in that world. Youdon't really see what's going on. It's
outside of that. So once youkind of hit the real world, it's
kind of like a culture shock. It's like, oh hone of what's going
dude? I want to know?Like just fast forward and everything you get,
you get drafted, you're playing forthe Rams. What is it like
(23:00):
when I watched what old Lineman do, it's different, Like, I mean
practice ends and you just started,Like the practice for you, old Lineman
is different like talking me through that. Like you're drafting third round, You're
probably thinking, I'm coming in here, I'm probably gonna start right away.
Like, well, what was goingthrough Robot when you got drafted to get
to the first training camp? Well, I knew that I was gonna have
to come in and try to provesomething man or at least be ready for
(23:23):
whatever. Because in this business,as you know, you never know when
your turn, when it's your turnto actually get out there and go prove
yourself. Yeah, mine happened umin the middle of the season when we
had a bunch of people go downjust left and right. Like it wasn't
like crazy like how it was thispast yet, but my rookie year,
(23:45):
we had a few people go down. So eventually I had to go out
there and play right tackle and Iwas low key holding it down. Yeah
yeah, it's crazy how like? And you had some vets in that room
too, Yeah yeah, yeah,we had some vets in that room.
So, like the expectation is justthe center's high. It's way up there,
right, Like, I know youwent to o US play against like
really big time talent, but like, talk to me about the first time
(24:07):
you went against up. Yeah, you know Clett like something crazy like that.
Um, well, I haven't seensome people in college too, because
I want to get Yeah, wesaw like uh, Ohio State they had
Yeah it was j there, yousaid, Draymond Jones, she's there.
(24:32):
No, I don't think he wasthere yet, but they had some They
had a really good d line andlike we lucky had to be on that
game. But luckily I had agreat coach in Oklahoma. Yeah, like
coach Beanbo shout out to the man. He real, but he gonna get
on you about something a man outof year. And so when it comes
to like the football aspect, likecoach be prepared us. Pretty you were
(24:53):
good. Like even there, Ithink like, did you ever have a
like holy like moment Like I'm inthe league, Holy, like I'm playing
against this dude, Like yeah, because my first start in the league was
against Khalil Mac. Yeah, youheld your own. You're like, holy,
I'm holding on against Kalil Mat Like, man, yeah, get out
(25:15):
there and just throw your hands, bro, just don't even don't even give
up. Just keep going. LikeI felt so good after that game.
I mean I was getting a littlehelp here and there, you know,
what I'm saying, that's just everybodybut but right, But at the end
of the day, like I stillheld my own and that was just one
of them moments where it just Iwas like, man, okay, I
can do this. That Yeah, that was your moment, like I got
(25:37):
this yelick, like I belong here, y, Bobby. The league is
such a business, and we've talkedto guys about being the more of an
asset you could be to a company, which a company in the NFL is
a team, you're more likely tobe part of that roster. Have you
made yourself accessible as an offensive linemanto be able to be like, hey,
yo, if I needed to,I'm center, i'm guard, I'm
(25:59):
tackled, I'll do ever you want. Or are you like, yo,
this is what I do? Yeah, you know. I mean at this
point I got thrown all over theplace, especially being in LA like I
played guard, played right tackle,Um, I played a little bit of
left tackle. It's surprisingly but likeit's that and its been as you never
know. So I would say,as an old lineman, you have to
be prepared to play any position, which nowadays that's the way, right,
(26:22):
it has to be. It hasto be unless you're a Trent woman type
where you're like yeah, which Imean even then you never really know.
I don't really know if they'll neverneed throw how different is And I'm just
thinking this like from an Andy Wardperspective. So Andy Ward he was our
strengthenitioning coach at Fresido State. Hewas at Stanford for a long period of
time and Beecher was there at thetime, and like they would do more
(26:44):
reps depending on what side of theold line you were per leg essentially to
like build up certain staminas. Soif I'm kickstepping on a right leg,
if I'm a right tackle versus lefttackle, how do you feel awkward one
or the other? Yeah? Yeah, Like I was feeling a little awkward
on the left just because I playedright for so long. So it's like,
(27:06):
you know how that feels versus youknow exactly how that feels. I
know what a good set feels likea bad set, But left, I
was just kind of out there likeha ha, no, let me just
get man quick. But that's where, like he said, when practice ends,
that's when you kind of begin towork on them things that you work
on, like flipping your hips, and stuff like that, because you got
(27:29):
to be an athlete as an oldlinement, you gotta be able to play
anywhere. Yeah, Center, Iain't gonna that's a whole different ball game
center, but I'll tell you.But people don't understand like offensive linemen are
probably one of the most athletic peopleon the field, like like on Earth,
Like you know what I'm saying,Like it's like, you know,
you want to think why receiver runningthat well? People, old lineman don't
(27:51):
rotate. You're not suthing as anold alignement. You could be out there
for fifteen plays straight. You're notcoming out, Like you know what I'm
saying. If you're a number twoold lineman, like you're not playing you
like you're a scout team guy.Like that is what people are understanding.
Old lineman is Like I got thebiggest respect for them because I watched them
all day before practice starts. They'reout there after practice starts, they're out
(28:15):
there meetings, they're out on thefield like it's crazy, and we've had
old lignment on like bro, it'sthe old simate position. It's ulso been
scenario in sports where you don't getyour name called unless unless you now granted,
if you if you paintcake and dudeand the guy scored such check out
this right guard here. It's likethe time the alignment gets shot out is
(28:41):
buying the alignment. That's what I'msaying. So, I mean, Bobby,
we said earlier in the pod yougot the ring, o boy Juju
has the ring. Yeah, talksabout the ring. Talk to me about
the journey of that year and howit went and how it finished. And
then in the moment, well, really it was just a crazy year,
(29:02):
man, because because which I'm thinking, thank God, I'm blessed. But
like, we had a point duringthe season where we lost three games in
a row and people just kind ofbut just alright ahead and they were like
like rams rams, this ram that, blah blah blah like but Coach McVeigh
kind of told us, like, that's just the outside speaking, like we
(29:26):
need to keep it tight, weneed to stick together and right, and
that's exactly what block out that outsidenoise. Man, That's exactly what we
went out there and did them. But it was out there doing that thing
for that last run, even likewhen they got close um with San France,
like it was that was a scarygame. We had a couple scary
game even with against Tom Brady andthem in the book. Then't got the
(29:47):
game, winn the field goal likeit was like and then like to just
finish that on top. It wasjust I don't know, man, it
was like it was like a longyear but a short year all in one.
Yeah, it was just long becauseyou know that with the new changes
with the preseason games and then theplayoff games though, like it was just
so much football. Yeah that itwas just like, man, this February,
(30:11):
we're still playing football, like craiz, Like I told you know,
every year we get to seal SuperBowl. Me and my twin brother,
we've been talking about super real likefourth grade. So that game, me
and my brother were in the stands, Like I took my twin brothers to
the game. We're in the stands. I mean atmosphere, we're shooting next
to nothing but rams fans, Likeatmosphere is crazy crazy. I'm talking about
(30:33):
real rands. You know they gotthe little mascot they got they painted blue
like and and so my twin brotherhe is you know his PhD. You
know what I'm so so he's brokehis head like he'll get his PhD getting
this. Dude put like seven granddown that Odell beckhamna score the first touchdown.
Like I'm like, I'm sitting He'stelling me, you guys are like
(30:56):
on the it's like the four year, the thirty going in scores zero zero
three zero, And he's like,Mike, I just like, hey,
I put seven grand Odell Backham scoredscores fresh touchdown. I'm like, customer,
out what you're doing. It's gonna. I'm thinking about my money that
you know what I'm saying, Bro, I'll go back in scores. He
(31:17):
runs a little wheel route. Broscores a touchdown and you would have thought
we won right there. We're goingcrazy. But I'm saying, like,
just like being because you know,we played in the Leavie Never when's the
last time you got to go toa football game that's actually sitting the stands
and ever happens. We're sitting therein the fifth like in the stands,
we're gonna, we're getting bears,We're getting drink, you know, getting
(31:37):
food and something being a fan.Yeah, And it was like Hunters.
It was like the most like litexperience I've ever had being at someone else's
stadium, being in the stands withhim, and when Odell kept that ball
like we were just that's crazy. So winning the super Bowl itself, let's
let's let's just talk like, Okay, hey, we're in it. Uh.
(32:02):
I mean, I'm just thinking froma bowl game perspective, like,
but that's a long football season, you said, you said it just down.
It's February and we have a competitivegame to play. And it's the
big one. It's the big it'sthe one you got the little you got
on your shoulder, like like onthe chest. So you you so all
right, you guys win, You'regoing super Bowl. Let's talk about like
(32:23):
the first team meeting once you knowyou're in the super Bowl and that and
just how it progressed winning the games. Ye first meeting, it's straight business
like right in week twenty three, let's go, baby, we here we
the home team is in La crazylike the atmosphere be nuts like this,
(32:45):
what more? What else do youwant? What else do you want?
This is the perfect scenario. Wegotta go out hands just execute, all
right, So y'all, y'all pullaway, you win the game, time
runs out? What happens? Confittyhow's the emotions all over the place,
(33:05):
happiness, tears, all tears likelong season, Like my parents got to
see this girl and her mom gotto see this. My brothers was here,
they girls like all my all myimmediate family was there, right so
they the only part that I didn'tlike. We can only bring two of
them people down on the field withus, bring the whole family. And
(33:28):
what what's it like having someone likeAaron Donald? Like, bro, it's
man. You can say whatever youwant about a d but his work ethic
iver seen it. I've never seenit, Like he's what knife think.
I don't know him personally. Ijust looked from Afar, but I know
for a fact I play him inthe linebacker middle linebacker. You tell every
(33:51):
that's what to do. He tellsme what to do. Okay, I'm
doing that, like and I swearthat's how it is. Yeah, like
ad Like you know, some peopleget told like you gotta playoff or whatever
he does because like they can callsomething, Hey deal, go to complete
opposite way, but you gotta playoffhim. But I'll never forget. Like
my first couple of years after inAtlanta, they're like, yo, you're
(34:12):
behind this player. Like I say, it's you're behind this player, like
you fit off at him the placesays to go this way, he goes
that way? Did you better fixit? Right? And it's one of
the things where us like yeah, alright, Okay, what am I gonna
say? Like alright, because becausethe crazy part is like Aaron Donald was
the only person I can't say theonly person, but the only person I've
seen in person that can be sofar behind the play, like he'll beat
(34:37):
you off the ball, but he'sgoing the wrong way and he'll still make
the play in the backfield play right. He's like, man, I shout
out to my boy Grady Jarrett,Man, my boy Grady, like he
like that, my boy Grady isthat player like and like my hud Grady,
I'm look, bro, you doyou I'll fix it because eight or
(34:58):
ten times he's gonna make that play. Yeah, And so like I just
like, but I think I'm askingfor like a leadership point of view,
like you guys, because I knowfor us, offense is kind of over
here, defense over there. Likeyou know, everyone says, like you
know football, when you get tothe NFL, you understand like offense is
their defense is here you get yourguys. They got their guys. But
like does a d talk to thegroup or is it like more like over
(35:19):
there he he kind of like thequiet type, you know, Okay,
like he's not gonna do all thatra ra, He's just gonna get out
there and show boy. Yeah. And then like he's proven at this point,
right, and it's like he'll Ithink he will really only talk like
when you kind of talk, comeat him crazy, like you know what
I'm saying. Yeah, but Ican't, I can't lie. His play
(35:40):
will make you mad. His playerwill make you want to say something to
him, like how sick of thisdude? Man? Yeah? That good?
Like Bro, he's one of thoseI mean just looking outside looking name
Bro. He one of these playersthat you're like, man like he's he's
him. I mean, I meanI feel like like even like and I
know that the whole roster ain't thesame as it once was for the Rams,
(36:01):
but like that Super Bowl you likeyou guys had you just had a
squad, bro, I mean, and they and it's it's known like Bobby,
you got put in a great situation, you executed on a fat ring
because of it, Like congratulations, but and like but like they wait,
there are some dudes and they said, hey, you know what, we're
(36:21):
gonna and Winster Bowl this year. We're gonna go all in and they did
it. And it's I mean,I mean that's such a gamble. And
I've heard great stories about Sean McVayand like he is, he's him,
whatever you want to call it.But like that that feeling. And I
know we just talked about the confetti, but like I feel like those initial
hugs inside the locker room that anyonecould see, was there beer showers?
(36:44):
Is it just emotions? Bro?Like did you get the goggles? Like
what happened? Like? What arethey sprains? One kind? Bro?
Matter bottles cigars? Goggles? Likehow's that work? You still got your
goggles? Yeah? Still, Istill go. I had to keep them.
(37:07):
I was like, yeah, I'mgonna just keep these for the memory.
They just hand them out like yo. Yeah. Luckily, luckily you
had to like kind of find thema little bit. Luckily I have your
hair before they kind of ran outright, So I held on the mind.
I make sure they weren't going nowhere. I put them around my neck
and everywhere. Yeah, I wentthem to the parade. I knew they
weren't going over. So being asyoung as you are on the league and
(37:29):
already having that, I mean, one of the pinnacles of football experiences.
What's next? Yeah for me?So so for me personally, all my
life I played in big games likethat. And you know, in the
(37:49):
Super Bowl, I was on thefield goal you feel me, But I
wasn't on the field as an alignmentof block, you know, So I
think that's what I'm missing. Yeah, you want to be you want to
be the dude, what you wantto be, even it ain't even about
the attention. It's about playing likeI was playing it, like I want
to be in there, like Iwas. I was there, I was
part of it, But the emotionsdidn't hit the same because like because even
(38:15):
going back to little league, playedin all them championship games right middle school,
all them games high school, Iwon three state championships. But like,
yeah, I mean the only reasonI missed my my senior year,
um so uh state games because Itold my ACR earlier you were you were
(38:36):
a freshman varsity no no, butand then college all those conference games and
then playoff games, trying to geta natty. I was in them games,
right, so them emotions hit waydifferent than like me, just like
I was like I was part ofthe team, but I wasn't like on
(38:57):
the field we have we have awere a couple of players. Should just
feel getting it. Like, don'tget me wrong, it's a blessing.
It was definitely like an experience. No one can ever take that away from
you know ever saying like my familygot to experience so much while that was
out there just because of me beinga part of this situation. What I'm
saying, and that's what's important tome. But at the same time,
(39:19):
I wanted to be out there playing, you know, putting off from my
people in the course, and Ithink, and if I can get something
like that or even get there whileplaying, you know, even if even
if I lose it, it's like, okay, I still gotta ring.
But like, at the same time, I got to be out there this
time, right, And so that'sall I feel like I'm really missing.
(39:40):
You got that dog in you, bro, no mean people like and that's
the mental side of things, Likeyeah, that that mental toughness, that
tough for real, and like there'sups and downs just dealing with all kinds
of shis game. But at theend of the day, you got to
look at the bigger Are you takingcare of your people and all that,
That's what's important. I mean justI mean, like I said, we've
(40:04):
been training to get up for twoyears now. I'm like, I know
that's my guy, Bobby. Youknow, he he's a dog. I've
didn't say that excited for to comeon last time? Right? Um,
just in closing right here, like, so what's that? I mean?
I know you're rehabbing right now, getting ready to go free agency. What's
going through your mindset right now?Just get this leg right, get his
knee right, get my strength back, and just be prepared for anything and
(40:25):
just go ahead and there improve myself. That's all. I just need a
chance to go prove myself. That'sit. Oh yeah, yeah, Bobby.
