(00:01):
Alright, alright, alright, welcomeback to the Bring Deduced Podcast. We
are here with a hot, hotepisode in Fresno. I got Jalen Johnson
here with Chicago Bears, QB one, Justice Fields. Uh, Justine,
welcome to Fresno. Appreciate you.First time her, first time here.
Yeah, first time in presdo somethingnothing but good, you know. Yeah,
(00:24):
I didn't really know what expect comingin, but she's been a good
vibe so far, so good.Like, yeah, I mean this the
no man, I want it.I'm gonna get it branded on me someday,
I think. I don't know.Yeah, Jalien, talk to me.
What brings us together here at thistable is Kevy's vision. Okay,
(00:46):
what's the vision now? What's itin the future? Take me through the
full scoop right now. I knowwe've chopped up about this. I know
you guys had a long day.Get your pot, John, Jayleen,
get it gone John. So let'sdo it About Kevy's vision. For me,
it's just really about expanding. We'vebeen in it for two years now
and really just trying to expand whatwe've been doing. We've been doing Christmas
(01:07):
Carnival, has been doing some sponsorshipsand donations and things like that, and
I feel like it's time to takeit to another level. And I think
the golf tournament and this fundraiser turningout the way it deal was just to
step in the right direction and thatand just really continue to bless the personal
community, bless the valley, andthen take it to Chicago and continue to
bless those communities as well, andI think it can be really something special.
(01:29):
Just looking for more support. Ithink we're doing really good right now.
I think we're sending some new goals, sending some new things that we
want to do, and I feellike at this point it's nothing that we
can't attain. I think it's justabout having the right plan, and that's
what we're developing now in the offseason, going in this season, figuring
out what we're gonna do for twentytwenty four, and then really just going
going forward from there. Fire meout justin you fell away from Chicago.
(01:53):
I know you're in the heat ofit right now. That talks a lot
about you know, your support foryour teammate and the type of character you
have. What tell me, howhow did this all become about you?
Guys? Became Buddies early. Imean, you're clearly supporting a good cause.
Why are you here today? Yeah, I mean, like you said,
really just to you know, helpmy boy out his foundation out.
(02:15):
So you know, whenever I gotgot the chance to help, he hit
me up. But I think twoprobably two months ago, you know,
asked me about it early on,so I just try to make sure I
didn't have anything on my schedule goingon. But yeah, anytime I get
to help my teammates, especially outsomething out with, you know, something
positive, something he's trying to doit for the community. Um, you
know, I'm with it. So, you know, as far as Buddies
(02:38):
goes, I feel like I feellike our relationship grew naturally, like you
know grinders, yeah, grinders orlocked up grinders. Yeah, not for
sure, but you know, beingoffensive defensive side of the ball. Like
we weren't talking a lot off forit, but every now and the in
the locker room, you know, his his lockers right past the door,
so say what's up to him?And then I mean we just got got
(03:00):
to talking more and more. SoI feel like our relationship grew like that.
And uh, you know, justknowing jing knowing kind of guy is.
Um, you know it's I'm notgonna say no, there coming out
and you're helping them out. Soum, definitely had to come do that
for sure. Well, I'm sureyou're appreciative. I'm appreciate. I'm glad
we're in the five five nine inmy mom's basement. Chop. I mean,
(03:23):
you know you, Jaylen, inthe community, you're upcoming, you're
young, you're you're you guys areboth leaders. Okay, I'm gonna ask
you both separate, but Jayl, let's start with you. What is the
biggest traits you see or take pridein as a leader? Oh? I
(03:44):
would say honestly, I would sayleading by example. I feel like doing
things right within yourself. I thoughtyou got to start there. I think
leadership starts with your actions. AndI think even being a leader, I
think what I've learned about leadership iskind of putting putting others above yourself.
I think even like justin being aleader, I mean it's one thing to
say like, oh yeah, he'sjust coming out of there. It's important,
(04:05):
But I think for an example ofleadership is coming out here and taking
time out of out of your day, out of your weekend, um,
sacrificing your time for a greater cause, bigger than just you. And I
think being a leader is something thatyou have to display. It's not something
you can talk about. It's notsomething you can fake. It's not something
that somebody can just say, oh, yeah, you're a leader. But
at the end of the day,it all comes back to back to your
(04:27):
actions, what you're willing to sacrifice, what you what you believe in,
what you're wanting to put above yourself. And I think for me it's kind
of just walking in that authentically umand no one kind of when and where
to lead. And I think evenwith leading, you have to know when
when to follow on who to followat the same time. So I think
it's really just about projecting your actionis the right way and going about your
(04:48):
business the right way and then otherand also being able to learn from others
and their actions as well. Yeah, I mean hard to follow up to
follow. I mean I feel likehe had every point to be honest with
you, like um he said, you know, I think leadership starts with
yourself, you know, making sureyou're doing everything the right way and really
just trying to make you know, everybody else better around you, um,
(05:09):
surrounding yourself around good people, peoplewith the same same goals, same mission
as you, and really just tryingto make them better. Like with you
know, this foundation, I'm tryingto make it the best it can be.
That's why I'm here right now.So, you know, just just
trying to make everything the best itcan be, especially it's for a good
(05:30):
cast. So but other than that, you know, he hit everything that
man seriously. And you know,me and me and Johnny knew Johnny is
Jalen's older brother. We uh,we have had a relationship and being Jalen's
relationship, I feel like it's definitelyblossomed us as friends and leaders of the
young community. Sir, we interruptthis episode to bring the juice for a

(07:26):
trying to do something positive in themin the world. And I think I
like what you said Jalen about youknow, you gotta know when to lead
the win to follow. That takesIt takes a man to understand. Win
time is to step up and win, time to you know, fall back
and follow your elders and people maybe more experienced, and like I mean,
(07:46):
justin you're in the unique position ofquarterback, which is it's different than
that every position, because you couldbe any position and be a natural born
leader, to be the hardest worker, be the grittiest, they got first
one in, last one out,all that crap. But being a quarterback
itself, there is a natural Idon't want to call it a chip,
but there's a natural checkbox you haveto check up. I need to be
(08:09):
a leader of this team. Yeah. Did you feel any in your time
of being a quarterback Throughout all theexperience you've had, whether it's the NFL,
college, all that, how haveyou said, Hey, I need
to come in gain control this, this locker room, this offensive line,
this huddle. Yeah, like, how do you how do you grab the
bull by the horns and wrestle it? Because I know it's different for a
(08:31):
qub it just did. It isdifferent. I mean it's it's it's definitely
different. But I think how youdo that, how you show everybody,
you know, how hard you work, just like Jayle said, by your
actions, um, because they seeyou every day in the building. So
really just you know, your actions, coming in working hard, and you
(08:54):
know they're gonna see that just justnaturally and really just being yourself. You
know. I know some guys theytry to come in and try to kind
of force, you know, beinga leader. But I feel like if
you just come in and be yourself, like everybody's gonna gravitate towards you.
Um, you know, because that'sthat's really what everybody wants in general,
just just realness, um, youknow. So I just try to come
(09:15):
in and be myself, work hardbecause I want to be great. I
know the people on our team wantto be great. So I think if
they see that, you know,um, you know, they'll have no
choice but to you know, followme. And you know, I'm not.
I wouldn't say I'm the perfect leaderat all, but you know there's
there's you know, other leaders onthe team, like Jayden, like some
other guys on the offensive side ofthe ball to where you know, they
(09:39):
might have different ideas to where weall come together. But um, you
know us working together, us youknow, working towards the same goal.
Um, you know, that's that'swhat brings brings everything together. So I'm
just just coming in being myself,Um, you know, showing everybody that
you know, this is my toppriority. Um, I'm here to win
(10:00):
and you know, win super Bow. So I think that's how you got
to come in. That's the kindof mindset you gotta have. You gotta
be confident, you know, inyourself and just just just lead that way.
So is there and I it justcame off the dome here. But
like, because the quarterback role isso essential of being like a captain.
I know sometimes I've been on footballteams maybe you guys have in the past
(10:20):
where they force a certain person tobe a captain just because they're a quarterback.
Being a young guy, does thereis there pressure when you first set
off in something like the NFL tobe a captain even though you're quote unquote
not experienced quite yet. Yeah,I mean not really. I don't even
think my rookie year, I don'tthink we had captains right when coach Nague
was here. We don't have captainsor we had rotating captain. It's a
(10:43):
better environment than a little a littlemore earn it or what I feel like
people have make feelings about that justrotating captains. But I mean, regardless
whether there's rotating captains, whether there'sCaptain setting Stone, I'm gonna come in
the same way. Yet, youknow, every day, Uh you know,
I just you know, with withor without that name play, I'm
gonna come in the same way.Uh you know, the team, my
(11:07):
teammates are gonna see. You know, it doesn't matter, am, Yeah,
exactly, You're coming regardless exactly. So I think that's just the main
point, you know, I canI'm gonna be the same person with or
without the sea. It's it's it'sit's really just the name place. So
yeah, I mean that's that's kindof my mindset about the whole captain thing.
So there wasn't any really added pressureto you know, coming in and
(11:30):
being that captain for it. ButI'm not gonna say if if I wasn't
in the captain last year, Idefinitely would have felt some type of but
I definitely would have still came inthe same way though. Sure there's there's
so much and I know you guysare good at this and I and I
write to preach this and bring theJews, like there's so much bs and
the outside noise these das, yeah, and athletes. I think at every
(11:52):
level, like even in your smallcommunity of just Twitter alone now like the
small community of social media's career didit's where haters come in all different shapes,
form sizes, burner accounts, bas the other the other teams.
There's so much book in the world. But at the same time, like
we're human beings. Like I mean, I'm in my twenties. You guys
(12:13):
are in your twenties. Like aman is a man at the end of
the day, what do you doto block out the outside noise and stay
in control of your mental health? And I'm gonna ask you both for an
answer on this jail and will startwith you. What do you do to
block out the noise? I thinkwhen you got to know when to put
your put put the phone down,to like step away from it, right,
(12:37):
And I think a lot of thetimes guys get caught up in like
the positive side of social media orwanting to post and show everything that they're
doing look at me. But yeah, and then on the flip side of
that as like two, when you'renot doing I'm just I'm just laughing at
it. But so I mean, just like, really, you gotta just
know when when to put the phonedown. And I think even for me,
(12:58):
like I did it a few times, was like going through season like
man, like I didn't put myphone down. I'm not really concerned about
posting these game day flixed these tunnelflicks like nah, just yeah. But
also at the same time, likedude, you grow up and what do
you look at you see the nowit's overthought, right, but like you
used to look at the photo shootsback in the day when you're in seventh
grade and go, bro, Iwould love to rock those gloves with the
(13:20):
logo on them, type like Iwould love to run through that tunnel.
I'd love to all these things. And now it's like, I mean you
feel like that until you get thosems. So I mean it's all it's
different. So like every like kidsdon't really understand and I even I've told
my kids at like this at theat my camp that I had last year,
Like everybody wants to be in theNFL, everybody wants to go D
(13:41):
one, everybody wants to play atthe high level, until it's until it's
really time for you to accept whatcomes with that. And it's like whether
that's hard work, whether that's criticism, whether that's failure, whatever that may
be. I feel like there's alot of things that kids don't don't think
about when they dream these dreams,or like you really set these goals and
it's like, yeah, yeah, you're looking at it kind of one side
and it's like expected because I meanyou don't a lot of kids don't know,
(14:03):
but it's like, yeah, onehundred percent. So it's like a
lot of the times, like youcan have a great game and then I
get beat on the game when itpass because I was like all these dms
are coming to me and it's likeI just had this game. I played
it probably about a ninety three percentgrade, and now all of a sudden,
like everybody DM me this, thisand this, and it's like,
man, let's play the great game. And I like messed up on one
(14:24):
play. And I think sometimes likebeing in the NFL, like being now
in college. It's kind of turnedinto a miniature NFL at this point or
pro So it's like you kind ofI mean, you kind of just got
to accept what comes with it andknow when it step when it step away
from. And I think faith alsoplayed a big part of it as well,
not finding your identity in social mediaor in what people are saying,
(14:46):
and kind of just remaining true toyourself and true to your beliefs and knowing
who you are outside of the football. And I feel like a lot of
times people to kind of just treatyou accordingly with that helmet on. It's
like, when I take it off, I'm still this. Hum, I'm
still this man, I'm I'll bepretty shouting all the time. Man.
Like. The thing is that peoplethey don't understand that there's a huge disconnect,
especially in football athletes in general, they're looked at as objects versus human
(15:09):
beings and football, especially because youhad a helmet on, they don't see
your face very much. Yeah, and we know this. When you put
your pads on the helmet, youfeel like if you feel like a superhero
at some point you could feel invincible. But when those dms hit hard enough,
and I've had world champion boxer onhere him it was twenty eight and
(15:30):
now had the belt, Olympian, the whole thing. And he lost his
first fight after twelve years as apro. And he's and he and he
was ever Marris and the dog DogDog, and but he said, he
goes, You know what, man, I block out the outside noise on
positive vibes. He gives back tohis community, all this stuff. He
(15:50):
was. I just don't understand whysome you know users zero zero two eight
four six seven eight Chicken Wing says, you're a bum, Like, bro,
what did I do to you?Like I lost some name money.
Don't bet on me like they gotthree hundred dollars and they bade a count
betting. They hold thing on meto do something like Brome. You mad
(16:15):
at me. That's what I'm saying. I understand. I mean, I
mean justin what do you guys say? What do you do to block out
the outside noise? And I'm gonnabe honest, I do. I told
you I saw two things from myresearch on you because I'm prepared. I'm
a good podcaster. Yeah, canI get some prost real quick? Thank
you, thank you. We're elevatingman. Skate Freso, First Bank,
(16:40):
American Pastatios, Dervil Stelli do itall. Anyways. My point is it's
very difficult to block out the outsidenoise. It's very difficult to stay on
track with things. But you stayvery humble and business only and you you're
(17:00):
handling the task at hand, whichis so for me as now once athlete,
now boss, business owner, farmer, husband. Maybe someday father,
I want to translate that same energythat man scape gonna help you get there,
my boy. But I'm saying, how do you stay so cool,
(17:23):
calm and collected? How have youcalloused your mind to make it to where
you say I'm gonna have that elitemindset to be great? Yeah? Um,
I feel like it's really just onhow I was raised. You know,
my dad always, you know, taught me to be humble. Um.
You know, no matter how muchsuccess you have in your sports,
(17:44):
is really just you know, stayingtrue to who you are. Um.
And he always used to tell mewhen I was younger, you know,
pride comes right before the fall.So just staying humble up at all times,
and to be honest, I deletedTwitter like a few months ago,
like people just be saying whatever onthere, nothing but one hundred percent of
the time, ninety nine percent ofthe time whatever. They'll never say it
to your face, so they justbe saying whatever on Twitter. But um,
(18:07):
yeah, I deleted Twitter. Andto be honest, the only reason
I haven't, you know, deletedI is because of my marketing stuff.
So I mean it makes me moneyon there. But yeah, brother,
block that out. Don't even listento it. I don't read nothing positive.
I don't read no articles, nothing. And I used to do that
all the time, like I usedto When when did you sold me?
Probably when I got to the league, you know, you know, I
(18:30):
think when I got to the league, Um, I probably reached most of
my struggles in because you know,I'm at the Georgia Ohio State. We
never really lost, so I gotmy first taste of actually losing like that
when I got drafted into Chicago,so, um, you know it was
it was it was different for me, something that I had to get adjusted
(18:51):
to. But yeah, bro,but I just deleted Twitter, like you
know, probably right after the offseason, just to give my mind off of
things and just live life. Ifeel like, just in general, like
people just live their lives through socialmedia ways too much to where you know,
if you're getting the real world. So um, yeah, that's that's
what I do. I just blackliterally don't even look at it. So
(19:12):
it's just give them a little contextto who you who your dad and not
who your dad is, but likewhat your what your dad did or does,
but like just a job and stufflike that. Yeah, I think
it kind of goes. Yes.So my dad's a cop. You know,
he was in the Marines for Ithink fifteen years, so um yeah,
(19:33):
he's been a cop for or he'sretiring now, but he was a
cop for about twenty years. Butum, yeah, he was a cop
for Atlanta and then um in highschool he worked at my school. So
I'm very close to my dad, very close to my pops. Um that's
that's really my best friend. Heknows everything, everything that I've been through.
So um, you know, everytime that I'm going through something,
struggling with something, I'll always hithim up and he'll you know, give
(19:56):
me some good advice and stuff likethat and I usually take it art because
you know, it's how I'm feeling. He knows, he knows me probably
the best, the best out ofanyone. So um yeah, Bro,
that's that's that's that's my due rightthere. But hitting my favorite thing.
You know again, I did myresearch and I think we all could agree
at this table. You know,as an athlete, there's a lot of
(20:19):
attributes to your life that help youdrive to success. One for me,
Jayleen, I know we've talked abouton the Pump before review and justin I've
heard you talk to people about it, but like, how does faith come
into that? And I'm not areligious podcast. I'm drinking Hennessy right now.
Yeah, But at the same time, I know as an athlete,
(20:41):
I would be nothing. I justgot married a couple of weeks back.
I want my relationship to have alot of attributes, but God, our
faith needs to be part of thatfoundation. And being an athlete, you
have all these conversations in your headwhere you know you're you're chasing greatness.
Bro, You're trying to be thebest verse into yourself at a high level.
Jayalen, you as well. Everyonehas the devices. Everyone has fanned
(21:04):
for everyone at some point in theirlife. Some people they tweet about at
the Instagram about it. Some peoplekeep it built up in here like a
like a page. Yeah, butat the end of the day, you
got it if you could turn toGod, Yeah, it does help.
How do y'all both keep faith inyour life? Just I'm gonna start with
you this time because earlier I thinkit's I think it's finding your identity in
(21:27):
Christ and not letting, you know, not having to be validated by what
anybody else has to say. Um, you know, the culture we live
in right now is just crazy towhere it's like, you know what people
are on nowadays. But I'm reallyjust you know, I've I've I grew
up in the church. You know, I grew up going to church each
(21:47):
and every Sunday my grad My dadwas actually a deacon in the church.
So I was, you know,in there early morning. Yeah, I
used to be. Because I feellike you're gonna ask me to do it,
don't here, but no, no, no, no, I need
someone to sing the national anthem outmy upcoming uh my charity boxing event coming
up. I gotta practice for that. Might out tell you what I gotta
(22:10):
practice, but I'm ready. Yeah, all right, anyways, continue back
to Lucky. But yeah, it'sreally just you know, having that foundation,
like like Jalen said, Um,you know, if you're you know,
grounded in Christ, Um, Ifeel like there's nothing that can come
your way that can you know, mess you up. Of course, yeah,
(22:30):
you can't lose. So um,no matter how far you want,
you wander off, you know, because I've wandered off at times. I've
gotten distracted by you know, theworld, the stuff. You know,
being a quarterback, there's a lotof stuff that comes with it. There's
a lot of distractors out there. This than that. So um, But
just just having that foundation in Christ, knowing that you know, guy's never
gonna banning and stuff like that, and just having that relationship with him and
(22:52):
really just trying to grow with himand get you know, stronger spiraitually.
That's you know what I really triedto hone into this offseason. It's really
just getting closer to him, andyou know, just having you know,
Bible study devotionals with myself each andevery morning, by yourself. Yeah,
just by myself, just writing itdown. See, you don't don't broke
(23:14):
because that now, But I usedto just you know, read the little
verse of the day and keep itpushing. But I just felt like I
could take the next step and kindof just you know, read it,
write it down, reflect on theverse, and just just just keep it
going like that. So I gotthe app. Yeah, what do you
do with that? So what's onlywake up every day? Yeah? Yeah,
(23:38):
not only well yeah said crazy crazyand this isn't And I really,
I really do on this pod.I'm blessed to be able to say I
try to take the experiences that youguys have. I didn't make it the
League. Yeah, I walked on, I earned my scully. I try
to go the Olympics. It failed. I'm only from I'm back of doing
(24:00):
a podcast trying to spend positive vibesinto the world, hopefully somebody who is
a banker, accountant, financial advisor, boss, chick fil a, chicken
wing friar, Like, I don'tgive it. You are in this world
if you're grinding, this is somethingyou could listen to to other grinders who
(24:22):
you idolize, and I try tomake that connection of you. I'm not
saying you athletic ability the average accountant, but I'm saying, like, from
a grind perspective to we're always grinding, we're always chasing greatness. So how
can I take that same mindset thatgot me so far on athletics and kicking
whatever else I'm doing as a father, as a husband, as a business
(24:44):
owner, as a podcast host,as a friend, as a nonprofit supporter,
whatever the hell am I be inthis world? What can I do
to chase greatness? And like it'snot easy, but like having y'all on,
really people can reflect on that becauseit because it's not just there's lots
so here y'all talk about the faithagain, I ain't a religious podcast.
(25:06):
I'm not trying to convert anybody. All I'm trying to say is, like
in my family is part of ourformula of success. You work your butt
off, you have a good attitude, you have high effort, you do
that. You control the controllable,Yeah, for sure. And you know
at the end of the day, you're nothing without God. Anyways, off
(25:29):
that off that, off that offthat my bad? Is that too deep?
My Definitely? You can go deeper. You can. I could go
deeper. That's all I'm just saying. Fine, let's backtrack. Two strikes,
I got, I got two morequestions. Let's go all right,
So listen, I told you earlierI had a guy, Chris Boyd on
(25:51):
safety transfer from Minnesota two sorry transfer, he got traded in Minnesota to the
car What are you gonna do?This? Dude played at Texas. He
claims Big twelve is better than anyconference, Justin and Jalen because you played
in the Pac twelve, you playedin the Big Ten and in the SEC.
(26:15):
Yeah, what's the dominant conference inthe country. I think the two
I played in SEC in the BigTen. I'm gonna, I'm gonna.
I'm going SEC for sure. Okay, your team SEC. I'll go to
Team SEC. I got blown upObama and I'll miss in my day.
You're you're saying it's even between theBig Ten and the SEC nowhere. I
(26:36):
feel like back in the day,SEC was blowing everybody out of the water.
But I feel like, can youdefine back like probably when I was
when you were there, when Bamawas going back to back to back championships
and stuff like that, like camNewton Area, like all that twenty probably
like two eight up. Yeah,I would say, like Ohio State when't
name within twenty fifteen, So likebefore that, it was all SEC and
(26:57):
and nobody was rest. You know, you get your teams every now and
then we're Oregon had, you know, a good team, but um,
I think just all overall talent andall just just overall just football, Like
you gotta go at the SEC forsure. So if you said, final
answer, this is the dominant conferencein cultural ball, you would say SEC
(27:21):
SEC for sure. And because Iagree saying and as in another conference vote,
oh yeah, yeah, I meanI would say big team is a
second. And then I thought,I don't know. I thought it's hard
for me to big. Yeah, the playing on defense, I can't let
buddy say that. I ain't gonnaYeah, I mean, y'all having it
(27:44):
happened in the Natty, this passionthat was just the real Natty. Was
the playoff before that Georgia State.Yeah, can I ask your take on
that? What happened? That gamewas crazy, bro, I'm not gonna
lie me being me, you know, playing at Georgia train friend to Ohio
State. Sure, Um, justthe talent they have on both teams.
I didn't think the game is gonnabe that close. I thought Georgia was
(28:07):
gonna win by sitting the fourteen points, you know, yeah, just because
I don't know, just the trenchesdown there. You know, they had
Jayden Carter, that boy Nolah Smith. So they had some athletes, but
you know, Ohio State definitely puton in that playoff game. So I
was proud of them. The waymy boys CJ played out there. He
played crazy that game. He wentoff that game. He was under He
(28:29):
was behind you for a period.Yeah, so my last year in college
he came in and he was afreshman, so he sat behind me one
year and then two years. Thislast two years, yeah, it took
over. So bro Yeah, smallworld, small world, small world.
I'm excited for him, though, excite of what he gonna do this year.
Be little did the last question adiversitystrikes I'm not shaling first because you
(28:56):
got though those loss of the answersthat, hey, y'all both look good
and juice bring the juice hats.By the way, he was called bring
the juice for twenty percent off toshave your bandscape dot com Bring the juice
and the juice just juice, Bringthe juice, use code, Bring the
juice twenty percent off. Can Iplug myself with quick drink C four two
(29:18):
drink four? Are you a Cfour guy? I am? Tell me
why you like C four so much? I feel like it. Core likes
we bring the juice. It helpsme. You bring the juice. Four
helps me bring the juice. Solike, right now I'm awake, But
before I got here, you know, I was just taking a nap in
the car. I would sleep.I'm not gonna lie. Can I be
honest all at hour? Yeah? You kind of sleep at first? I
(29:41):
was sleep. I'm sleep yeah,a little concerned. Yeah, No,
I'm good. No, I'm upnow you up? I'm up. Now,
he's good. After we get donewith this, I'm gonna give me,
you know, a little bit ofhoney. Yeah, my guy,
he brings the juice. Yeah, bandscape man, what's your question? Let's
go adversity strikes? What's your response? Automatic response? Let's go adversity.
(30:06):
You can't. It depends on adversityto ask a dB too. All right,
fadeball, you slip touchdown, You'reup seven first quarter. What I'm
not gonna like to you? Thathappened to me against USC my last year
diversity struck. How do you respond? Mentally? I got to this,
I got old people listen to this. I'm not gonna lie to you.
I fel like it's different for everybody. For me, that don't happen very
(30:30):
often at all. So especially ifI get caught lacking and I fall and
I trip, it's like, you, God gave you that one. God
blessed you with that one. I'mgonna accept that. I'm gonna take it,
but it ain't never gonna happen again. You're not gonna do it?
Is it tripping a slip? Thesame thing in the DB's eyes. It
depends on how why you trip. You can get if you got him,
(30:55):
yeah, blur black black got yougot you. But I mean, so
how do you respond? Okay, you got burned. You're going back to
the huddle. You know you're aboutto get reamed by the DC or the
defensive backcoach, whatever it might be. You didn't get a couple? What
do you mentally? What are yousaying? Hey, next play mentality?
We got to reset. Listen.I saw that I learned from this some
(31:18):
of you're at. I think ifit was a mental thing, I think
I probably harp on it a littlemore than if it was something physical.
I think something physical I would probablyjust I felt like it'll probably be like
that like do it again type ofthing. So I think for me,
it's just like I mean, forme, I'm a competitive like somebody like
you do something to me and Ifeel like if you beat me on something
(31:40):
like physical, like do it again, and I think like I'm I'm paused
when I say this, I'm gonnakeep coming after you. No, No,
you didn't do anything. I'm justsaying I'm just keep coming after whoever
I'm going against. But I feellike something mental. I try to figure
out why I was, why Imessed up like mentally, or why I
wasn't locked in where I needed tobe locked in, and I wise enough
to understand the difference of the two. I mean yeah, because you can
(32:02):
get a sense of professionalism, man, I mean yeah, everyone has that.
I get fifteen yard thirties get Imean that's I mean they am just
like talking about control the controller. You can't controlling slit. I guess what
he gonna make sure it don't happenagain. You're not trying to get blurred
on again? Yes? Yeah, wow, you don't have the next one
(32:27):
right now? You need some newones. I got you, I got
you for you. I'm nobody rightnow, but I'm about to about to
bring the juice after this. I'mgonna get you somebody nice little threes.
Give them back, all right, finish your spield, bro, you're preaching,
(32:49):
I'm preaching. I'm not preaching.I mean I'm done. Man.
I feel like, at the endof the day, I thought, you
gotta be a dog. I mean, if you you mess up, I
mean, at the end of theday, you know things are going to
happen. You play. I mean, you go through life, anything that
you do, you're gonna mess upat some point. It's like you gotta
have I feel like a certain mindsetof dog mentality of you're gonna keep going,
you gotta push through. And Ifeel like a lot of a lot
of people don't don't have that. And I feel like, to me,
(33:09):
it's also how you are, howyou are brought up. I feel like
a lot of people aren't shouting broughtup. Yeah, for sure, one
hundred percent. But I mean Iwas around other dogs, but nah,
I mean my my parents, Imean even being the youngest to go and
yess, my brother in anything andeverything, I feel like I was I
was bred to be competitive. Iwas bred to be to be a dog.
(33:30):
I mean, just always wanted towin. I think a lot of
people don't have that. I feellike it goes into what you do when
you get beat. When you getbeat, it's like, no, I
mean the diversity strikes how you're goingYou be a dog? They guess what's
simple? Is this simple? Isthat some got it? That's a fact,
(33:51):
you got it. Just I'm aboutto give you my philosophy answer since
you said so, I'm gonna stayon that path. Me. I personally
believe you go through everything for areason. Bro. So like all the
adversity I've hit through my life, like it's made me into the person I
am today. Like I feel likeif I didn't go through some things earlier
than I wouldn't be able to handlestuff now. So I feel like everything
(34:12):
works hand in hand. Um.But yeah, like my first reaction to
you know, reacting to adversity isjust keep going, you know, don't
stop. You know, Um,I didn't come as far as just to
get left here, So no matterwhat happens with me, I'm gonna keep
going. No matter what I'm talkingabout, everything happens for a reason.
(34:34):
Like if I can't play football nomore, Like God's got a plan for
me. So just my faith hasjust show so strong to where it's like
I feel like anything at this pointcan can can happen to me, And
you know, I'll still be grounded, you know, as long as I
exactly, as long as I've gotthe stuff that's the most important to me,
my God, my family, Likethen I'm straight. So I'm good,
bro. But yeah, my firstreaction is just to keep going,
(34:57):
don't let it pace you whatsoever, and just know, you know, in
the back end of things, laterin life, you're gonna understand why you
did go through that adversity. Soyeah, God's plan, God's playing a
great song. I can't do thisso my own if you get a sample,
you just get a sample. No, A little bit, A little
bit, So, I mean Ihad no more questions. But so you
(35:20):
were in the choir like I was. I was in course, so if
I called you, can I callyou choirboy? Or like? Is that?
Let's not do that right? Howmuch? How much were you in
the choir? Like like I feltlike personally I felt like I was the
best singer, but I was inthere middle. How many people told you
you were the best singer though?Nobody? But I just you know,
(35:43):
I just know the process and youjust know, like we had what the
doctors two or three concerts, Ihad two solos, you know, solo
footage of that. I don't thinkso like if we googled it hard enough,
could be fine. I know it'snot on Google. The only people
that I have it is my parentsor something that they were film. We're
sending that number. Yeah, Igot you. Would you ever sing the
(36:04):
national anthem to your own football game? I was thinking that the other day.
I actually would, So I needa national anthem singer for Bring the
Juice at Tablemount Casino Boxing July fifteenth. For the Juice Foundation. We're also
supporting Kevy's vision, which I haven'ttold you yet. We created this thing
called the Juice Foundation, and basicallyall I want to do is bring the
(36:25):
Juice. We got that hot obviousat this point we've known each other what
forty five minutes? Yeah about that? Yeah. I want to help athletes
in every way shaping form I canpossibly can, and I have a few
things I want to donate the proceedsto. One of them is I want
to donate to my friend Jalen Johnson'sKevy's vision in some way, shape or
form. If he was gonna ifyou promised fifty backpacks, I wanted to
(36:47):
now promise one hundred backpacks. That'siron sharp and zion. I say that
a lot on this show because I'mbelieving that. Um. Anyways, I
needed someone to sing the national anthembefore I got you, Bro. As
long as my expectations are down here, I don't need to you know,
be coming in there thinking, Iknow you compare yourself to Fergie and Jesus
(37:10):
combination. Low key Fergie and Jesuscombination. Who's fur elicious definitions? The
boys go loco, that's bad fur. Your mom knows who I'm fie,
(37:30):
bring you back from the top, delicious definitions. That was the reference that
I didn't know. So so whoif you compare? If you were to
say, I'm a combination of twovoices, who would your name? Bro?
I'm my own voice, facts,my own boy. Like would you
ever put out a Christmas special likejingle Bells? Not Christmas? If anything,
(37:54):
I'll put out some crazy like somecountry, like some new countryman.
I like country. It's been grownon me lately. Morgan Wilder, Oh,
Jack, Brian, Jack Bryan,I don't know John Party see not
he don't know, John, I'mnew to it, so I'm wrong with
it. All I know it isMorgan Wile, he's he's he's nice with
(38:15):
it. This guy who? Thisguy? You? Would you? Would
you duel sing a concert for him? Oh? Yeah? So if we
didn't karaoke tonight, what song wouldyou do? Let me look? No,
no, no, no no,it's gotta be off the dome.
I don't know, bro, Ireally don't know. What's your song?
Me right now? Right now?So I believe in karaoke. I don't
(38:36):
want to my voice is your song? I want to have up at performance?
What's your song? Frank had tochoose one song? Probably either you
might as well do rock Star byNickelback. Uh some Johnny Cash. You
guys are hitting me. Just okay, okay, okay, let me let
me backtrack. I wanted to aduel with the guy at a bar.
(38:58):
Boom boom, boom boom. Hesings ice ice baby. I couldn't.
I couldn't top it, So Isaid, how am I gonna one up
this? I sung Forever by eminemYou did all that? You did different
voices? Did you do? Differentvoices? Last name? Never? Guess
(39:25):
what the street. The TV's behindme with all the words on it.
Didn't look at it once, soyou knew it. So I took my
shirt off. I got kicked outafter the fact. But guess what if
there's one thing I could end thisspot with and we all agree on this,
winners find a way. That's it, am I saying? Guys before
(39:49):
I wrap this up, anything youwant to say real quick, Jayleen,
