Speaker 1 (00:00):
Appreciate all the text you guys have have sent over the yount.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Get a chance to just see all those three eight
five minutes, Okay, to change your stance and being a
general manager.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Never change your stance on black T shirts medium black medium.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
You put that one into context.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Hey you got one on the night. Yes, he does
what I do.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
I'm just saying you didn't even walk in here with
a jacket or anything.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
No, it's nothing cold up.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Hey man, I'm from the tropical people.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
I mean, I'm from the neck as it gets aroun.
I'm just saying it's nothing cold.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
I'm walking out there.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
I'm on the beach anyway, my mom at and you're
tougher than the red Just saying that's right on Veteran's Day, that's.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Right, Just saying, yeah, go ahead, flex your muscles to.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Get right on that. Flex my muscle.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
That's uh yeah, that's the rubber band that cheos my elbow.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Oh yeah, you guys are terrible.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
The Giant Fire, Ryan Dable and one of the names
is going to be in contention here fans.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Joseph. Joseph has previously worked with Joe Shane down.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
There in Miami vance and could potentially bring Davis Webb,
a former Giants quarterback, as his offensive coordinator.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Do we think.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
The New York Giants are ready for their first African
American head coach calling them out? Uh? Do we think
that Vance will get serious consideration there on a team
that apparently shortlist has also on it lou Anarumo and
Antonio Pierce.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Well, you can add Bill Belichick to that too, because
he was asked a question about that about the Giants
the Giants jobs, and you're just like, you know what,
I'm I'm thinking about the game that's in front of
me right now.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
We're onto what are they playing this week? Who cares?
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:48):
We're from the Colors anyway?
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Wake Forest Actually, actually, to be totally honest, Grant, they're
faacing Wake four. So obviously Bill Belichick is gonna say, well,
he's not really concerned about the Giants job, even though
he has history with that organization too.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Because now, remember, let me take you.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Back really quickly, remember the situation where Brian Flores when
Bill Belichick actually texts Brian like it said, hey, congratulations
on the Giants job, but he texted to the wrong
Brian instead of texting it to Brian Dable. He texted
that to Brian Flores. What's gonna let the cat out
(02:32):
of the bag as far as that's concerned.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
So it goes back to your question.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Ben, whether Advanced Joseph could be the first African American
coach for the New York Giants.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
I don't think we're worried about John Elway accidentally texting
the wrong Vance.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
No Van's gonna get the New York Giants, Chuck, No,
I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
But this would be great if it did come to fruition.
I will say New York is a tough fan base.
It's a tough city. It's a no nonsense city. Well,
once again, we were having a conversation earlier about Nico
Harrison being fired as a GM of the MAVs. I
go back to this because you need the head coach,
(03:13):
ownership and the GM on the same page and if not,
shared viewpoint as far as how to build a team
in a direction to me, frag it kind of makes
the house of cards really fragile.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
And I think Vance would be so good for that team.
I mean, you think about Vance Joseph with those defensive pieces.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
But okay, okay, think about that tackle. You got the
three rushers, Yes, Advance would be right. But see, here's
the thing.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
So you go from being a defensive coordinator for the
Denver Broncos to being a head coach potentially it's all
hypothetically speaking here of the New York Giants. But then
Vance still has to select a defensive coordinator.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Well, I go with Joe Woods and do what he
did last time, which is be the head coach of
the defense. The difference is last time he didn't get
to pick his offensive staff. John Elway picked out the
offensive staff and that was you know, they also picked
the players.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
He didn't get a chance to do that, which is
one of Vance's strengths.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
One of the things that doesn't get talked about enough
is how Vance Joseph is a very keen eye for personnel.
Vance is the reason that Brandon Jones is here. Vance
is the reason that Zach Alla. Yes, Vance Joseph is
a very keen eye for talent and personnel, and he
it's followed him everywhere.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
It's one of those.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Secret things that just doesn't get talked about enough, is
that he's very good at that. And you know that's
that's one of those things I mean, I'd be top
for the Broncos to lose him. Jim Leonard will be
first in line for the job. But the Broncos gets
some compensatory picks. I think they get a pair of
third round at least they give at least one third
round compensatory pick if he were too if he were
to be the head coach of the.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Giants, well, I mean think about it.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
I mean, Darren Moogie he is now with the Jets,
Chris Banjo is nown with the Jets as well as
so there is some andew could.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Come be this place just to run across town and
be a different special team.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
Well, I mean that would be a lot of remove
and I don't think he's going to take a lot
of remove to should leave Aaron Glenn to jump to
the Giants. I don't think that's gonna happen. You wouldn't
you No, no, no, he wouldn't. We wouldn't do it
because think about it this way. Chris Banjo is a
loyal guy and he's played for the Saints at the
(05:26):
time that Aaron Glenn was the DP coach, so there's
a lot of familiarity there.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
So why would you leave a guy.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Who gave you your opportunity to kind of run the
special teams.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
I mean, Banjo didn't get that opportunity hit with the Broncos.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
So so why would he leave a jump ship and
take a lot of remove and go with Joe and Vance.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
If that is the case, I think it's funny that
people that we know left left the Broncos specialty. Anyway,
we got the Rizler Yeah, I called it that you
me and nicknames.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
Do you guys think that there's anything to be said
for Vance's connections in Colorado? Like if the Walton Penner
group came and said, hey, whatever, the Giants are willing
to pay you as the head coach, we will pay
you to be the defensive coordinator here in Denver, do
you think that changes his mind a little bit? Like, Hey, yeah,
say Colorado would be the DC a little less pressure.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
Wait a minute, Hey, I don't know about too, but
I like Benjamin Franklins.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
I like a lot of Benjamin Franklins.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
So they say money talks, and you know what else
walks in marathon. So if the Pinners were to present
Vance Joseph with that equation, I'm giving a math equation
with both bunch of commas and zeros.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
You do all right, he's gonna be like, you know what,
what do I sound?
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Because what would stop him from doing that? I mean,
there's no like roles against it. Right, you could pay
you could pay coaches whatever you want. I mean, Next,
why Sean Payton gets an obscene? You know, he gets
like eighteen million dollars a year or whatever it is.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Right now, He's a question I have for you, guys.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
It's interesting that you brought this up, Grant, looking at
what the fact that coach Peyton is being paid and
you say, okay, well, so far of the past two seasons,
what side of the ball has really carried the water
for this team? So with vance like this, just with
what you're presenting, let's just say he asked for you
know what, I won eighteen twenty million?
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Right, Well, there's no way you're paying your dfea eat
more than your head going well, whoa.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Whoa, whoa great saying, Grant scenario.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
More because you're set up on the dynamic there, I mean,
because you're set up a dynamic like if you if
you're if you're the DC, you get paid more than
a head coach, Like I mean let's pleep you money.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Okay, wait, so so Sean is making what twenty million
a year?
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Eighteen?
Speaker 4 (07:35):
But yeah, okay, eighteen, so you pay vance with sixteen
to five?
Speaker 3 (07:40):
No you?
Speaker 1 (07:41):
I mean there's no dcs that are making ten million
right now?
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Once again, remember the scenario that Grant set up.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I'm just saying, what's for guy? If you offered Advance
Joseph eight million a year, I think you take it.
They're head coach is making that right now? What what
do you think he'd be offered by the Giants?
Speaker 1 (07:57):
It's probably ten million a year is probably about the ballpark.
Speaker 5 (07:59):
Okay, so you say, Broncos say we're gonna pay it
ten million dollars a year to stay here as deep.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I mean, it's the same thing Jerry did with dan Quinn, right,
you know that one season he's He's like, all right,
i'll make you a highest pad DC.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
I'll give you head coach money too.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Nah.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
I see, if you're willing to give me ten, he
ain't give me thirteen.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
It's a short stop twelve.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
I'm just.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
We're only a couple of MILLI you know, either way,
So this cross.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
That bridge, hey, in your own words, Nick, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
But defense only gets you so far.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
You know, maybe maybe that's people we're not paying shot enough.
We just need to be shown thirty years with these
genius results.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Say make it out of content.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
If he's seven to two off the Broncos crash and
burtherust this season, can we fire Sean Payton and keep
fast Joseph his head coach played.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
There'd be a full circle moment with it.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
That'd be wild.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
That's not gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
I'll just the craziest thing that we've ever seen in
pro sports.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Not gonna happen. But thanks for the same, he's finally
having the time.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Oh he's life again. I need so wherever, so g
w I can get him back, just for that moment
where it beats the heck out of me.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
I need to figure that out. We'll figure that out
toward the break at some point. That's one of those
things I wonder. I wonder what he's up to now.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
This time is life? You know what, man?
Speaker 4 (09:11):
It It's gonna be interesting to see how this thing
plays out after the season, depending on how the season
ends for the Denver Broncos. But I feel as though
vance Joseph has done enough to earn an opportunity to
be a head coach again.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Oh, I absolutely agree with that. I'm just saying the
Giants seemed like a natural fit. Is Vance's work with
Joe Shane before Donner Miami when he was a defensive
quarter for your Miami and Joe Shane was on the
staff there at the front office. He probably brings Davis
Webb with him, who's got a connection there to New
York and New York Giants having been a quarterback for
them under Brian Dable.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
He knows the terminology.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
He will know how to take Jackson Dart from the
current offense to the offense he wants to run.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
But there's one problem with that.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Go on the fact, if let's just say things play
out the way that you are dialing them up. If
I am VA, I want some assurances because guess what.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
You don't know how long Joe Shane is going to
be on the job.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Well, I don't even still have a job.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
So you have to make sure if that is the case,
you have certain assurance form of dollars.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
You come in here, you come in here with a
high enough contract you to look, you need to pay
me this in order to make this work. And oh,
by the way, if you fire me, if you fire
the general manager, I've got to say in the next
general manager, similar to the way like Vic had say
when George Payton was brought in.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
Yeah, I like that concept, but I wanted some extra
bonus money with that as well. So if you fire him,
I have some input on the next GM, but I
need some some shoe money.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Well you do.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
You could do like the way Kyle Shanahan did when
they first got the job and they had to rebuild
the Niners mess after the Tom Sula Chip Kelly. You know, nonsense,
back to back. He just said, I need a six
year deal, says coach. Money is fully guaranteed. Like you
mess around on me. I got a six year deal.
Here him and Lynch both got a six A huge
length of deals.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
You know what I need? Those types of friends, right,
those are the type of friends that I need, friends
helping friends, super duper contrasts like that he gets six,
I get six.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
I mean, that's that's the thing, because I mean, do
you really trust the giants to make the right move.
Look at the last couple of head coaches that they've
had between Ben McAdoo and Punch Schumer and UH and
Brian Dabele and and just I mean they've been bad
at hiring since Tom Coughlin's been gone.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Yeah, I think Joan Mahra would would be willing to
do something like that because once again, I always go
back to that that video that went viral of the
conversation he was having with Joe Shane before Joe Shane
had the conversation with Sa Kwon Barkley, and you can
see that the owners saying, hey man, this guy, even
though he's a running back, he's want more one.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Of our popular players. Right.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
But Joe Shane still moved off of Sa Kwon Barkley.
And that's going to whatever happens with the Giant situation,
that's always going to be somewhat of a staying on
Joe Shane's resume. Now, getting this next higher correct as
a head coach is going to be important. But the
other thing that any head coach coming in is, well,
(12:12):
how long am I going to have Jackson darts?
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Because this kid has already had four concussions.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Well, and that's the thing, because he didn't just move
on from Saquon. He moved on from Danny Dimes, who
look at him in India now, so he.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Moved on for both of him.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
In the end, he paid Danny Dimes didn't work out,
moved on from him, moves on from Saquon because he
couldn't pay both of them.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Now he turns around and look both number succeed elsewhere.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
And this is why as a coach going in whomever
this is, you want to assure us this because what
we've seen, there's been some wild things that played out
in New York.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
And what happens is you're dealing with the media.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
There's a certain level of pressure with that and then
once again the fan base two as well, and being
able to sustain that and overcome that. And you want
to be able to make sure that you have the
full faith and confidence in the organization to go out
and build the team the way that you envision it, right,
because it's your butts on the line if you if you.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Don't go out to perform well.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
And that's kind of why Brian Dable finds himselves on
the ounce.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yeah, a couple of other things that I want to
get to in the the six pack today, we'll talk
about the Cordill Stores stuff. So you guys probably have
some some comments on that, and so I get some
New York stuff too, because Aaron Glenn out there going
after the media again, got quit antagonizing.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Bro, Like, they're just gonna keep coming for you. They're
gonna keep You're one man, They're gonna keep coming for you.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Now he gets two wins in a row against the
horrible NFL teams in Ohio, and he thinks he's riding.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Some high man. A win is a win.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Right has four games this year where he has less
than sixty yards passing.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
Win is a win.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Justin Fields has four games this season where he is
less than sixty yards passing.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
I love how like.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
I think it was on online earlier today where I
saw a meme where it was like, yeah, Johnson, whatdy?
Johnson comes after just In Fields and says, well, if
we can complete a pass, we'd win a game, and
Justin Fields is like, nah, we'll win.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
A game anyway. Forty yards passing? No, get that absolutely ridiculous.
We had a ton of stuff.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Get to NFL six packs next, Brocos Country Night, Well,
thirsty man, it's time for an NFL six.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Pack It's time for the NFL six pad.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
I'm gonna track a lot of beer insight and insight
information you can't find anywhere else. No.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Six the top six NFL headline.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
What the NFL and NFLPA are not investigating the latest
Jackson Dark concussion question. A week six concussion evaluation of
Giants QB Jackson Dart Sports A joint investigation of whether
protocol was violated by the team was who approached or
entered the Blue Medical tenth League eventually levely to a
three hundred and fifteen thousand dollars fine. We can concussion
(14:53):
diagnosis for Dart report Land and not be triggering a
probe regarding the question of why wasn't More quickly removed
from the game? Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News,
there will be no review of the situation, despite video
evidence suggesting that Dart should have been removed for an
evaluation after his head struck the ground.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
In the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
As Leonard explains it, Dark lad motionless and did not
even attempt to recover his own fumble after nearly four
minutes and thirty seconds have elapsed to game time, during
which the Bears had possession of the ball and the
New York offense was on the sideline. Dart participated in
two more plays before then being removed from the game
for a concussion evaluation later placed in the protocol. CEO
Chris Nowinski of the Concussion Legacy Foundation said, quote, if
(15:30):
that's true, and that would be a failure of the
protocol because what triggers the protocol is head impact and
lying motionless, which he was. There's actually fumbling a football
and making no attempt to recover it. So unless he
has three broken ribs, that's a concussion. The NFL has
spotters in every game with the sole purpose of identifying
situations and which players should be immediately moved. It's a
major problem when anyone watching the game sees something that
(15:51):
the paid professionals apparently missed. It leads you to wonder
if Brian Dabole left him out there, and that's part
of the reason he got.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
Fired, That is that could be part of it, because
we all watch him Thursday night game against the Philadelphia
Eagles where he attempting both Hay and Cam's gotta be
went into the tenth and hey, listen, there was a
lot of pressure on him to win games, and he
felt as though Jackson Dart would give him that opportunity,
so he wanted him in. But sometimes, man, I know
(16:20):
when he can push people to do crazy things, especially
on the high pressure situations. But it's on the independent neurologists,
it's on the fishes, the referee. When you see a player,
especially a quarterback down on the turn, it is your
job to make sure that we've seen it before.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Her refs to come and get guys, because you're gonna stand.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
Up and come and get him, and the players like no, no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
I'm fine and they walk you right off the field.
So everyone has to do a better job of this.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Everyone included, not just the head coach, but the independent
neurologist once again, and the offishoes on the field.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Two well, the Giants head coach John his open and
given that he's been linked to the position in the past,
the fact that he won two Super Bowls there as
defensive coordinator.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
North Carolina head coach.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Bill Belichick was asked about the vacancy during his presser
and he said, getting ready for Wake Forest, That's all
I got this week.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Belichick was then aske if he's been.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Asked about NFL vacancies by players or recruits, and he said,
I've been asked about it from time to time, but
look up been down this road before.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
I'm focused on wake for us.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
That's my commitment to this team. And next week it'll
need to our opponent and so forth. But you know,
I'm here to do the best I can for this team.
I think the reality at this point is the NFL
teams don't want him. He's got one interview since he's
fired by the Patriots, and his reputation for taking over
a football operation will limit his options.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
To a franchise. It's win to get him the keys
and let him reshape the.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Entire operation, firing anyone perhaps everyone, hiring whoever he wants,
including his buddy Mike Lombardi, who I.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Still don't understand, how like I guess jobs whatever.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
No owner is going to do that, especially the extent
with which Lombardi has crapped on NFL jobs on Belichick's
behalf over the last year, and the petty few that
he maintains with the Patriots excluding scouts out there, and
then you get the whole Jordan Hudson situation. Belichick's record
without Brady four one four. Is there any owner in
(18:14):
the right mind that's hired Bill Belichick at this point
up to it, including the Giants.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Yeah, one that's really desperate.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
And you never know with this situation with the Giants
what kind of different desperation it could be.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
I mean, you're in New York.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Things are a lot different than any other place sports
town in the United States. But right now, I think
it's best to get new blood in the Koshing Wings
and someone who can actually develop a quarterback and not
saying that you see a quarterback as you're equal, but
you could bring him along. And we've heard the stories
about Bill Belichick and the relationship with Tow Brady.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yeah, so I just I don't see any scenario in
which an NFL t I mean, you got to be
really desperate at this point. If they were the Titans, maybe,
but I mean there's no connection there and they they've
you know, they ran vrabel off for what in a
bigger batch of control, you think they're gonna bring.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Bill Belichick in.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
How about a name I saw for the Giants head coach,
Opening Bags Maby.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
I don't think he wants to be a head coach
and his first head coaching job.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
Was a disaster.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Yeah you think, uh, you boy, you think Vance Joseph
in his first head coaching job didn't go well?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Go look at how bad those Spagnolo teams were.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
They averaged like ten points a game on offense, like
they were terrible.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Uh has some giants roots though, he does.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Obviously he was the DC there you know Ben when
back when I think it was Cofflam's head coach.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
But I don't know.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
I don't know that Spags wants to be a head
coach either.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
I mean Kika is there and yeah, well Kik Kafka
whatever his name is.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
He spends some time with the Kansa the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
He did, so he's kind of interviewing for the Titans
job with his interim job. By the way, there's uh
his boys down there as the as the general manager.
Now he's gonna be in the running for that alone.
Matt Naggie, Arthur Smith, those guys. So he's kind of
auditioning down there's hope. Yeah, Kafka hoping to have a metamorphosis,
as you will. Three full literary joke for those of
(20:05):
you don't paying attention.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
A day after ESPN's Rich to media reported stand.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Out New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson is expected to
this three or four weeks the spring knee head coach
Aaron Glenn raised eyebrows at the podium again saying quote,
I'm going to pass on talking about injuries since Rich
and then realizing he wasn't there, said oh, he's not here.
Has all the answers, You guys can get all the
injuries from Rich or the end of the news conference.
Or reporter asked Glenn if Wilson is a candidate for
(20:31):
IR placement, which would obviously rule him out for four games.
Glenn said, pointing in the same direction before the empty chair,
ask Rich.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
The reporter responded, I'm asking you, and Glenn came back with, well,
I'm telling you to ask Rich. The reporter said Samdi
wasn't there. Glenn said, well, you better call him.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Another reporter shimed in ag no disrespect to you or Rich,
but we want to hear from you. Glenn then said,
you guys have been hearing from me, but now since
we're just reporting stuff that I.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Haven't said, then maybe you should ask him.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
This isn't the first time coaches butted heads with the
media here previously refused to name a starting quarterback leading
up to the Week eight game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
After benching Justin Fields during a thirteen to six loss
to the Carolina Panthers, Glenn said, I cannot tell you
that when I asked if he could divulge on who
is QB, one would be on the road against the Bengals,
And then, of course he could have actually told him
because Tret Taylor was out with a knee injury. What
(21:20):
do we think of Aaron Glenn sparring with a New
York media?
Speaker 3 (21:23):
This sounds about right.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
This is what as a young player that I witnessed
several times when Bill Partzell's was pretty much in charge,
is like, tell the media nothing at all, right, You
tell them whatever you want to or however you want
to answer. I can give you no answer answer to
the question that you asked me. That shit suffice and
(21:48):
we're gonna leave it right there. But if you keep
asking now, that's not gonna make me or force me
to answer your question. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
I just seen this before. I mean, somebody reported it
and he has a right. I mean, it feels like
you should furmit or deny and at that point, I mean,
you know, if he's saying that he didn't but he
didn't do either.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
He just seemed bitter that rich to me, and he
got the information.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
You think he calms down a little after they get
the breaks beat off him on Thursday night against the Patriot.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Probably not.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
You know what really interesting bout the story.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
When I played for the Jets as young player, richam
Minie was covering the.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Team when I was there with Aaron Glynn.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
He's been around a while.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
That's why this is so larivous to me. Poor DeShawn Watson.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Is making progress but not ready to practice yet. Apparently,
Brown's head coach soon to be fired. Head coach Kevin
Stefanski left uncertaint about whether he's ready to return to practice.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
We have Mary kay Cabot.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
He clarified that all the quarterback has made excellent progress
and has come back from his twice ruptured achilles. Teams
will not open Watson's twenty one day practice window this week.
Watson is on the reserve physically unable to perform list
first must past his medical exams before being clear for practice.
He has rehabbed at the team facility and attended quarterback meetings.
Allen's quarterback coach Bill musk Grave said, I know he
(23:02):
wants to play football again.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Feels like he's got a lot of tread left out
his tires.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Watson has only played nineteen games since the start of
the twenty twenty two season, going nine to ten with
nineteen touchdowns twelve interceptions. Rookie Bill and Gabriel will make
his six start on Sunday against the Ravens. At this point,
the Cleveland thing's got to be a joke, right, I mean,
this has got to be a joke. We just watched
them like absolutely the New York Jeff couldn't move for
football and they still won that game.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
Yeah, you know, I think everything has passed by for
Deshaun Watson. I mean, there was once upon a time
when he was arguably one of the better young quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
In the league. Off the field issues and injuries.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
Have kind of forced him in somewhat of a dark corner.
And the fact that the Browns don't want to open
them a twenty one day window says you everything you
need to know.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Is there any thought to shed.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
Door Sanders, Well, there should be, especially if you want
to stopping it.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Yeah. I mean what's stopping.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Is that Kevin Stefanski, whomever inside that building. They don't
want to turn this Shudor because if Shador starts to
play well, which I think is still going to be
very difficult because the Browns are not that good, it
would make those individuals who did not put him in
the game earlier make.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Them look bad. And he was like, Nope, if I'm
going down, I'm going down with the ship.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Dylan Gabriel, Peter Gabriel, the Archangel Gabriel.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
It doesn't matter. The Browns offense can't do five Eagles
corner Daggar.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Alexander is stepping away from football, at least for now.
Via Jay Glazer, Alexander's decided to quote focus on getting
himself right physically and mentally before deciding his future. Alexander,
who was recently traded by Baltimore to Philadelphia, informed the
team of his decision on Tuesday. Twenty eight year old
Alexander was the first round pick of the Packers in
twenty eighteen twenty two.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
He sided four year, eighty four million dollar extension in
Green Bay.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Packers released Alexander in June, decided a one year a
deal with the Ravens, appearing in two games this season
before being traded to the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Alexander was downgraded out on Sunday by the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Didn't travel to Green Bay for Monday Nights game of
the team cited his knee injury and he coaches decision.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
When I think about jay R Alexander saying music.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
Get his head right, you know what it happens to
everyone because think about it. I mean, Alexander was traded
or ended up on three teams in one single season
that within.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Itself start to get a reputation. Well, you'll get.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
A reputation, and it makes you start to wonder where
where you fit in the grand scheme of the game,
especially after being drafted the way that he was drafted before.
Now he's just kind of being passed around from team
to team to team. So it starts to make you reevaluate,
you know, what's important to you and sometimes Ben it
(25:44):
makes sure you kind of dwell on how well do
you feel as though you are as a player? Can
you still go out and do and perform your job
at a high level, And once you.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Start thinking about that makes you real different.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Six all right, the story I wanted to get to
all time great see you.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Buff quarterback Cordell Stewart is reportedly interested in the CSU
rams vacant head coaching job.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
According to Josina Anderson, fifty three year old Stewart signed with.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Lil Wayne's Young Money APAA Sports agency and has quote
already assembled a veteran staff of prominent NCAA and NFL coaches.
Former Colorado stars Travis Hunter and Cameron's saw On Craig
are also signed with Young Money. Stewart, who was a
twenty eighteen inductee of the cu Athletic Hall of Fame
for Your Starter for the Buffs under Lake coach Bill
McCartney won twenty seven games under center, closest college career
(26:35):
with sixty four eight one passing yards, including sixty four
on a game winning hail Mary to Michael Westbrook.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Which post people remembers to Meracle in Michigan.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Oddly enough, Stewart's first college star came against Colorado State
in nineteen ninety two. He threw for four hundred and
nine yards and four touchdowns in a thirty seven to
seventeen victory. Steelers selected Stewart nicknamed him Slash for his
ability to play wide receiver in the second round of
the ninety five NFL Draft. Eleven seasons with the Steeler,
Stewart threw for fifteen thousand yards was a two thousand
(27:03):
and one Pro Bowl selection. Stuart, If here's serious about
entering the college football ranks, Colorado State is certainly an
intriguing job. Coloro State fire Jay Norvel last month after
two and five start his fourth season at four Collins.
Just last year, CES you finished eight and five, reached
his first Bowl game since twenty seventeen. Are preparing to
join the Pac twelve Conference next year. What do we
(27:25):
think about the possibility of Cordell Stewart as the next
head coach at CSU.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
I think it's really interesting and intriguing because I'm sure
CSU after having some of the feil seasons they want
some excitement similar to their rival and CU because you
would have to go back to Sunny Love who had
fifteen years with CSU rams and then when you look
at Mike Bobo, he had five seasons.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Chakawayne had a little success there.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Yeah, but when you look at the long long tenure
there at the school, it's only so many guys.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
I mean j Novell. I think he was like maybe.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Thirteen and twenty one or something like that in his
time with CSU.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
And these two teams.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
Will not face each other into a twenty twenty nine,
but I think it would be. It's a good talking
point and recruiting point if you can get a guy
like Cordell Stewart.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
I mean, money have to lose if you're CSU, Like
if he wants the job, He's got some veteran coaches
on the staff that want to be there with him.
I think this is a splash higher when you need
a splash higher if you're CSU.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Well. Yeah, Norvell was eighteen twenty six as head coach.
Steve Adazio, who was two years before him, was four
and twelve. So Norville was trying to build a program
back up from what Adazzio had running it into the
ground after Bobo had.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Kind of done that little bit.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Mcilwaine had a lot of success taken over for Steve Fairchild,
taking it from four and eight to ten and two
before parlaying that into a job at Florida that didn't
work out for him. Yeah, the corners, we talked about
this before. I mean the CSU either had to get
an up and comer who's gonna leave you eventually, so
you got to build in a right buy out. You
got to go get a discreptions older head coach who's
you know, who's willing to slum him around with you.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
But if he gets the redemption, he's gonna founce.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Or you go out and you make it, you know,
the off the wall, I say.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Off the wall higher.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
You go out and make one of these uh these
these hires now where guys professional athletes, guys like Mike
Vick or Jehaun Jackson or Prime or are jumping into
the coaching arena, guys who played the game.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
I mean Cordell Stewart.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
I don't know if he's a drawer or not, but
I'm certainly fascinated to see it.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
Well, he's going to be a draw because guess what,
he played in the NFL for a long period of time. Now,
the question is how the fan base and the alumni
are going to embrace that because you have a CU
buff guy coming into a CSU rams you know program,
How's that gonna work? But I just I know this,
you know, playing in the NFL, when you play in
the league, and you know, players want to get to
(29:47):
where you've been. You'll be able to bring a lot
of those guys into the fold and the whole thing
that comes about.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
With the NILS.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
I'm not gonna say that he's gonna be able to
manage it better than Coach Prime, but it makes it
more interesting here in Colorado if you have both of
these guys, or you know, Prime at CU and then
Cordell at CSU.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Yeah, I'm also interested to see what kind of staff
that he's.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
That's gonna that's gonna tell a lot.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
I mean, who's on that staff, because that's the extra
draw in bringing those kids in. Like Coach Prime has
so many former NFL players and Hall of famers on
his staff.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Supposedly heines Ward would be on that staff.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
He's currently the wide receivers wide receivers coach at Arizona
State Course. Hines Ward was a head coach for the
XFL and went three and seven in the XFL, So,
I you know.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Supposedly that would be potentially on that allectedly and maybe
Eric the enemy too. I don't know. Interesting stuff. Broncos
country today, Bosonitis.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Oh yeah, real pack. Oh okay, Well let's go ahead
and sulitating brothers.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Up no reason to the potato settle though.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
And here he is having the time of his life.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
H
