I had a little bit of food before I got here.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
It wasn't enough.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
I said.
Speaker 6 (01:08):
Now I'm considering door dashing from across the parking lot
in order to get in order to get food here.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yeah, you were trying to bribe me to be here.
Speaker 6 (01:15):
I was trying, you know, I tried to do the
the dough eyed thing to Shannon. He shot that down
like so fast. You know. Dave Temper was like, yeah,
I'm not your Aaron boy. And then you know, so
that was that was never happening. That was never Yeah,
I know I could see it across the parking lot.
It's just just taunting me over there. But we'll figure
that out. And we're trying to get put food to
people in need, not food that for people agreed like me.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
So, uh, we'll see, uh, we'll see what you guys

down or we got a QR code make it super
easy for you down here.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
We'll be here till nine o'clock tonight, Zach.
Speaker 6 (01:56):
It's an interesting week as I watch Chiefs fans melt
down on social media claiming that they should move on
from Andy Reid after the team now five and five
and defeated by the Broncos. Are the Broncos just breaking
everybody this year?
Speaker 3 (02:12):
It kind of feels that way. I mean, the Giants
completely melted down in spart It seemed like they were
turning a corner and then they spiral after the Broncos
beat them. It's happened to a lot of teams now,
the Jets, of course, a lot of teams just seemed
to dofter. The Eagles had their total melt down after
the Broncos beat them. And I think some of it's.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
Maybe the nature these fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Comebacks that kind of break your spirit. But I think
it's also just like the physical style of play that
the Broncos have. You look at the Lions last year,
a notoriously physical, imposing team. Teams that played them were
horrible the next week. I think they were two and
fifteen or something like that or yeah, something around there.
(02:52):
The Broncos their opponents are two and eight so far
this season. Then I think that's just a testament to
how much pressure they put on their opponents. They're not
a team you want to turn around and have another
opponent on the schedule.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
It's been a fun season for the fans so far.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
Is the Broncos and raced out to the best record
in the NFL. Probably surprising, I think to most most
people I don't think would have predicted roughly this record.
I think I think I had them down for eleven
wins for the season, and it looks like they're probably
gonna surpass that with six games left to go.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Here.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
It was interesting because Ryan and Nick were leaving on
the last show, they were talking about rooting interests, with
the rooting against Kansas City a rooting form or I
think I'm too much of a pragmatist to get to
get into that kind of stuff. I just look at
what's the best math for for the Broncos and move
forward from there.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
But there are people like Ryan who.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Grew up a Broncos fan, who's you know, I can't
I kept root for Red.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
You know, do you do you come do you come
out it that way?
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Or is this is it more? Is it more?
Speaker 5 (03:51):
What positions us best?
Speaker 3 (03:52):
I'm closer to you, and I think especially now in
the seven team format. You know, if we were talking
about the four seed versus the three seed, sure you
know grew the Chiefs. That's one thing to root against
getting that one seed, and the current format is so
ridiculously valuable. It automatically advances you to the next round.
Home field advantage throughout the playoffs and with this defense,
forcing teams to come into Denver operate with a silent
(04:14):
count is a meaningful competitive advantage. You want to try
and earn that one seed. Absolutely, that is that is
far more important than whether or not you'll see a
Chiefs team that the Broncos just handled. I don't want
to say easily, but I think they can confidently outplayed.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Then.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
It wasn't like the Giants game where you felt like
you found a horseshoe.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
Well, I mean, they still needed the fourth quarter comeback,
but there was never a moment where you were in
full on heart attack horses mode, you know, where you're
just sitting there huffing in.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
The bag, all right, how are you gonna pull this
one out? Which they have repeatedly done, But there wasn't
really much of that.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
I don't think.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
I didn't feel that vibe.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
That you know, as we were watching that game, it
felt like.
Speaker 6 (04:51):
It was always within their grasp, whether they were in
the lead or playing for behind here at the start
of the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
And I just don't think you should operate out of fear,
like act like you are a fan the team with
the best record in the league, like have some I
get what the last decade has done to this fan base,
but have a little puff your chest out a little
bit and think, hey, come through Denver. I don't care
if it's Kansas City or New England or Baltimore or
Buffalo or whoever else, will take care of them in Denver.
I as opposed to, Oh, I'm really scared of Like
(05:19):
the rivalry thing I can respect, but the mentality I've
seen them from some fans of like, oh, I'm scared
of Mahomes. I just don't want him anywhere near the playoffs.
I just thought I struggle to respect for I'm like,
you just saw this team handle him at home. You
saw bo Nicks outplay them in Denver. I'm not that
much more concerned about running that matchup back than I
am any other matchup in the AFC.
Speaker 6 (05:41):
Yeah, I mean important to be honest, is Sean Payton's
lack of success against Jim Harbaugh has me more worried
than I didn't necessarily a rerun with with with when
we're going to get a rerun with Mahomes and them
on Christmas in Arrowhead anyway?
Speaker 5 (05:53):
So I'm not you know, that's not a thing for me.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
I just I don't know.
Speaker 6 (05:56):
I see fans twisting themselves into pretzels over you know,
I can't roof for this outcome, but I can't root
for this team because I'm just like, what's what puts
you mathematically in the best shape, and that's what we
root for it.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
We don't have to worry about the rest of it.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Yeah, the tricky thing is maybe gonna be the Patriots
dropping one, Like the Colts have a hard schedule the
rest of the way, finding a game for the Patriots
to drop where they just have a very easy schedules
where it's a little tricky. Hopefully the Bills get hot.
I think that's what you're rooting for as a Broncos
fan that and I think you also want you know,
it's like the Ravens. I want the Ravens to win
the North. I know you have a different financial investment,
(06:29):
but I would much rather see the Steelers as the
wild card team coming into Denver than the Ravens as
the wild card team coming into Denver if they don't
get that one seed. And do you have to play
in the first round?
Speaker 6 (06:39):
Yeah, And I think I think that's kind of the
way I look at him, Just say, what what positions
them best out of you know, at all these and
what teams do I not really want to see in
the playoffs, you know, as far as that kind of
stuff goes.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
So you know, that's that's that is what it is.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Five six six, nine zeros of text on you guys
want to get well at the conversation. But we're live
out here at King Soupers to the annual food drive
and enjoy and now we got our Shream's gonna join
us on the phone here in about five minutes he
was out.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
They had an open house down.
Speaker 6 (07:06):
There at the Burnham Yard thing to talk about the neighborhood,
the development, all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
So we'll get a chance to check in with him
and see.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
How that went with the residents down there with the
new stadium proposal and all that. Paul Charch, you're gonna
join his bottom the hour answer all your fantasy football questions.
So we'll we'll have that as well, and we'll be
out here till nine o'clock taking taking all your donations and.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
You know, get into the food Bank of color Rop.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Yeah, gotta gotta get those turkeys on one. And I
know Mandy ran up the score earlier. She was getting
a lot of stuff donated. I think we got to
compete with her maybe for the top spot. So hopefully
people come through load up on those those large turkeys,
some pumpkin pies and said, twenty eight pound turkey back there,
I saw twenty six and twenty seven, okay, but there
could be a twenty eight pound one is the is
(07:48):
the golden ticket. I didn't sift through all the turkeys.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
It's a twenty eight pound turkey.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Thank you, crazy.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
I'm really hungry right now. Five six, six nine zeros.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
A text line.
Speaker 6 (08:00):
There's there's a lot going on in the league this week,
but the Broncos are on the by and it's a
perfect time for them.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
I think it's it just happened to.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Hit right at the right time.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
You got the mini buy before you play Kansas City,
you get a full buy right after playing I.
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Oh, by the way, get all the way.
Speaker 6 (08:13):
Out the Sunday night before you you have to play
the Washington Commanders, who also coming off of bye. Nick
and I debated a little bit last night about uh,
Jayden Daniels, and I happen to know Washington's trying to
get him back. They're looking for elbow braces, all that
kind of stuff, whatever they can do to get him back.
Nick is of the opinion that they should they should
just write the season off and go forward. And I
(08:33):
get that that's sort of self serving for the Broncos,
but that's not how the Commanders look at it.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
So dan Quinn looks at.
Speaker 5 (08:38):
It and are are we at all? Are we at all?
Speaker 6 (08:41):
Because I'm not worried about Washington with Marcus Mariottes thinks
like to be charitable, But if it's if it's Jaydon Daniels,
that's a that's an entirely different, different animal.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
And I start my worry meter starts to tick up
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
It definitely does. I mean, he's at his best, one
of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. He's at the
very least a respectable option where Marcus Mariota. I think
the best thing you could say about him is he's
one of the better backups in the league. I don't
even know if that's true, but that's probably the kindest
compliment you could give him.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
It would be game.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Changing'd have Jayden and Daniels in now. How much is
he impacted by the injury, I don't know. I'm not
a doctor. It's his offhand, it's not his throwing arms,
so I think it shouldn't impact him that much. I
will say the Broncos have done great against running quarterbacks
this year. Vance Joseph has done a tremendous job hemming
those guys in keeping him in the pocket. But Patrick
(09:33):
Mahomes not typical, but this season he's been one of
the most dynamic scramblers in the league. Broncos completely eliminated
that this past week. We saw it against justin fields
who can only do that stuff. So I'm not too
worried even if it is Daniels.
Speaker 6 (09:48):
We'll have a chance to get back to that here
at a little bit. But we've got Connor Shreve out
there all day the Can't Wait hotline. Connor was out
there at the Burndam Yard open house today and Connor,
what can you tell us about what went down at
that open house?
Speaker 7 (10:01):
Well, it's still going on. It's about forty five minutes
left to go in this thing. So if anyone is
near La Alma Recreation Center and wants to have their
input or learn more about the Barnabyard plan, you're welcome
to stop by. This might surprise you, but a lot
of people care about the Broncos new stadium. I showed
up about ten minutes before it opened and there were
already people in here. By five oh three. There was
(10:22):
a line out the front door. I would say in
the last hour and fifteen minutes or so, hundreds of
people have come through. This is obviously a really good
opportunity to judge the way people feel about the stadium.
A lot of times in situations like these, the concern
is what's going to happen to my neighboring neighborhood. But
all the residents I've spoken to right now largely view
this stadium nearby as a huge opportunity from anything from
(10:46):
like bike and pedestrian access to environmental access. The business
owners not quite as hopeful. Business owners in the areas
basically are uncertain, feel left out of the loop right now,
they don't know what's going on and they're a little
bit worried about the future sure of their business right now.
Though at this open house, things pretty hopeful in terms
of the Broncos stadium plan. This is the first in
(11:08):
a year long neighborhood plan.
Speaker 6 (11:11):
That's sassinating to me Connor because you would think the
business owners would be would be very pro and it
would be the more of the civilians that would be
more worried about their neighborhood. Is stadiums tend to gentrify neighborhood,
you know, neighborhoods. They tend to bring a lot of
foot traffic in. So if you're a business that's that
needs the street signedge, you'd feel like this would be
a boom.
Speaker 7 (11:29):
That would have been my assumption too, I spoke with.
I think one of the concerns is a lot of
businesses in this very industrial neighborhood are really large manufacturing
type businesses. I talked to the owners of great Western
Paint Company, and their big concern was for an operation
like ours, it takes a lot to move. And again
(11:50):
they actually said, we're Bronco fans, We're excited to see
the stadium. We just don't know what's going to happen.
They feel like they haven't heard much and that's part
of the problem with this plan as is right now,
there is no technical, official plan chosen yet, so it's
still a little bit nebulous, and maybe their concerns will
be assuaged here in the coming months.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
With that nebulous nature of what we do know so far,
what is concrete or is there anything maybe that's in
pencil or anything to give us a general idea of
what to expect going forward.
Speaker 7 (12:25):
In Pencil, there's a lot of talk about environmental owners
and the city seem pretty committed to making this as
small a carbon impact as they can. Another thing in
pencil is that the city and the team want to
make this a place where people on bikes or pedestrians
nearby can access it. What they don't want to make
(12:46):
it is a stadium surrounded by parking lots.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
Talking with Conor Shreeve about the open house down there
with the new Burnamyard Stadium site.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
You said overall, though.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
The pulse of the fan has been pretty positive.
Speaker 7 (13:01):
I would say people in neighborhoods that are nearby, specifically
on the District seven side, because the stadium is going
to occupy Denver City Council District three, but District seven
may be more impacted because District seven is the one
with all the houses to the east of the proposed stadium.
People have their concerns, but by and large, they feel
(13:21):
like coming to events like this is their opportunity to
sort of build it in their vision. I've heard people
talk about I want an effort of affordable housing, I
want trails and paths, and so I think people feel
like if they can get some of their neighbors to
be a part of this year long process, they can
make this stadium a little bit more like what they
want to see. Yeah, I would say it's largely hopeful.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
If there's going to be limited parking lot space for
the stadium, how are they planning on having fans get there?
Will there be an emphasis on public transportation access?
Speaker 7 (13:55):
Yeah, there's a large contingent right now. We've seen some
city officials come through their city council members, both both
from District three and District seven. Right as I connected
with you, guys, I saw Denver Mayor Mike Johnston come in.
But there's been a very large contingent of people with
r TD name tags on. That's certainly. The light rail
obviously runs right on the southeastern side of where the
(14:17):
stadium would be, and beefing that up would certainly be
a big part of this part of yard stadium plan.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
Talk with counter Shreve from kwe's newsroom, Connor, last one
from me here. You said the mayor was out there,
did he have any input for the for his constituents.
Speaker 7 (14:34):
He was walking in as I was walking out, so
I'm sure I missed the media scrum. I'm going to
run in there right now and try to try to
grill them for you. How about that?
Speaker 4 (14:43):
That sounds like a plan.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
We look forward to to see it and hearing all
your content right here on KOA and through our social
media channels.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
We appreciate you taking some time.
Speaker 7 (14:52):
Thanks, Ben, I appreciate you guys.
Speaker 5 (14:54):
Absolutely Take care.
Speaker 6 (14:55):
Counter Shreve from the uk WAIT newsroom live out there
at the Burnham Yard open House.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
Bring it's the latest update there.
Speaker 6 (15:02):
You know, everybody I've talked to you down there seems
pretty positive about it. It's the interesting new angle with
the business thing there. I hadn't thought about that being
you know, mostly manufacturing business down there versus you know,
sidewalk traffic, which which is what will eventually be. I mean,
there'll be a bar district down there, you know how
that's gonna go. But you're fascinating that there are some
some businesses that have a you know, have a pause
for a minute there is they're going to have to
(15:22):
to probably relocate.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Yeah, like both you and Connor said, it's the exact
opposite of what I would have anticipated. I would have
thought it'd be the people worried about noise, worried about
uh maybe too much foot traffic walking by their houses
right Uh, house prices is either going up or going down,
being impacted in that sense. I would think businesses would
completely embrace it, but clearly that's not the case. I
(15:44):
also think it's interesting that it seems like they don't
want to have a lot of parking lots. That's I
haven't been following like Cleveland Stadium plans or Buffalo Stadium
plans all that closely, but that seems new to me.
I haven't heard that associated with other stadiums.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
Well, I think, and this is a trend in modern
stadium building is you want to build a parking either underground,
you want to build it somewhere else because the parking
lots are an I soore. I mean they are, especially
when they're empty and all that kind of stuff. You
ever seen you but be ever out to Kansas City
scene Arrowhead and you know in Kaufman Ho it's just
out there like that.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
I kind of get the idea.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
And you could have a parking lot or a parking
deck staged somewhere else where the foot traff and get
in out of the stadium. You can use Matt Transit
to get out, a mass transit to get over there,
or walking paths to get over there. So now like
Corus has, Yeah, we'll have to see how that, you know,
how that ultimately works out in the end, But it
sort of feels like that's the direction they feel like
they're leaning on.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Yeah, I'm all for it. I hope we just learn
more quickly. It sounds like it's going to be very fluid.
That was the one thing I really gathered from it.
It's very loose right now, but hopefully we start getting
more details soon. I'm just excited to see what this
new stadium is going to look like. I'm excited to
see the mock ups, the different timelines. What are the
plans for the neighborhood?
Speaker 5 (16:51):
Yeah, me too.
Speaker 6 (16:52):
I will say they don't have mock ups on the
stadiums or anything yet, but from what I've heard, they're
loosely basing this on what they've done in Buffalo.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
So if you're.
Speaker 6 (16:59):
Looking for or sort of an inspiration for what they're
going to bring here, not necessarily again a copy for
copy kind of thing, but what they're doing in Buffalo
I think is just sort of the basis of of
what it is they look to looking to bring here.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
And Buffalo is a hybrid. Their new stadium, it's going
to be.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
A hybrid stadium, correct, Yeah?
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Is that the expectation right now with the Broncos new stadium.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
Yeah? They and they were upfront about that.
Speaker 6 (17:20):
With the new stadium, they want it to be a
roof that will close, but they want to leave it
open during games. It's not they don't want.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
You know, they want that outdoor field during games.
Speaker 6 (17:29):
And I don't know if you've ever been to, you know,
watch Dome football before, it's just not the same thing.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
You know.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
It's one of one of the biggest scribes back when
the Rams were in Saint Louis, it was like, this
is the stadium is dead just because it's you know,
the way it's domed.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
And you know, they've they've got the they.
Speaker 6 (17:43):
Got the new stadium out there in LA, but it
still it just doesn't have that This isn't that football
field to it, you know.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
But then this ideally would give them more concert opportunities
because they can close the roof. Is that there their
idea there?
Speaker 5 (17:53):
If they're not going to use the roof for.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
Football, Yeah, I mean you could close it from you know,
from January through or February through you know, O season
or whatever. You can have concerts in there. You can
do that kind of stuff with the you know, with
the roof closed. But the idea is to leave it
open for sporting events and close for you know, any
anything else that you would need or inclement weather and
you know, and go from there. And I think they've
got to I think they've got a.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
Good handle on on what they want to do with that.
So again, not not.
Speaker 6 (18:15):
Gonna be a a you know, brick for brick copy
of what they're doing in Buffalo. But if you want inspiration,
I know that's that's one they're drawing from.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
I hope they're strategic with the roof, honestly, Like if
you have a Jared Goff at quarterback, close it like
like that, play play play the Greatest show on turch
stop and if you have a team like this, leave
it open, let the snow come in, slop it up
and out of our defense the other team.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
I just like football's maybe you played outdoors.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
I don't like, I'm just win baby.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
Yeah, well I'm just I don't I don't know.
Speaker 6 (18:44):
I'm not gonna say I'm a puurist, but maybe I'm
a maybe an old old head when it comes to that.
I miss the days when we used to see, uh,
you know, a football player running across the between where
short the shortstop would be on a on a baseball diamond.
So that that's it used to be what got me
going Broncos Country to night Off and run. We got
Paul Charge and answered your fantasy football questions.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
We come back on KWA.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
How you doing.
Speaker 8 (19:38):
I'm doing great, Ben. I was thinking about you this
weekend when because last last Wednesday night when we talked,
we're talking about r J. Harvey getting his first start,
and we were joking, now watch Jhalal McLoughlin's gonna come
in and steal a Rando touchdown, and sure enough, that's
exactly how it ended up playing out.
Speaker 6 (19:57):
Yeah, that was kind of thought he was gonna take
a little bite out of it, and he kind of did. There.
You know, we'll see if Harvey is able to get
it going a little bit more. But the Broncos run
game now sort of looks unproductive from a fantasy football perspective,
unless you're guessing right on who gets gets the touchdowns,
but that could make the Broncos receivers more viable.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
Yeah, he could.
Speaker 8 (20:18):
You know, Troy Franklin clearly, you know, we we've been
talking about this week over a week now. I mean,
Carlin Sutton's clearly moved to the number two position in
my mind. Uh, Franklin was eight targets last week, and
you know he's he's looked good. I mean, I really
I don't resent it. I still think Sutton is an
underused asset. And then the emergence of of Pat Bryant's
been great. And now I know he got dinged up
(20:39):
at one point in the game and I saw him
go down. Do we think he's okay and that we're
coming out of the bye Brian's going to be a
factor here again.
Speaker 6 (20:48):
Yeah, I mean he should be, uh, he should be
good to go, and it was it was he actually
was back out in that game.
Speaker 5 (20:54):
You know later on he was perfectly uh yeah, he
was perfectly fine.
Speaker 6 (20:58):
So you know, I is as far as Troy goes though,
I mean, that's that's I.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
Haven't been Uh, I haven't been this mad at.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
The uh uh Troy since I had to read read
what was it? The Odyssey?
Speaker 6 (21:11):
I guess you know, yeah, Iliot whatever it was, whichever
one was, and hom Aeron HOMERI and epics, uh, and
I'll get him confused. It's it's it's just weird to
me because he is the least efficient receiver for the Broncos.
But then you know, he'll get the big chunk play
and everybody will forget the fact that you know, it
took eight targets.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
To get him. You know, however many yards?
Speaker 8 (21:31):
Yeah, four catches eighty four yards last week, and I
you know, I just my belief is my hope is
just part of the maturation process. You're getting the ball
in his hands a lot, so he can get better
with every one of those opportunities. And I don't know,
I guess this is just a sort of a trust
in Sean Payton moment. I suppose right here, and you
know that Franklin's ultimately gonna pay dividends and all the
(21:51):
extra use that he's getting to this point. So if
I were to tell you right now, if I told
you at the beginning of the season, now you can
be rolling into your five week sitting at I'm trying
to think of what are you eight and three right now?
Eight and three A correct about the nine and two?
You to take it with you, to take it without
(22:13):
a moment's hesitation. Correct, Oh yeah, yes, absolutely. Now let
me answer this is your offense good enough to get
you to the super Bowl?
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Well, that's the question.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
Everybody keeps asking, And I think the big answer.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Is, I don't know what day are you asking me?
Are you asking me on a Sunday against the Chiefs,
then yeah? Are you asking me on Sunday against the Jets?
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Then no? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (22:43):
Right, it's you know, that's I think that's that's the
big the only real question that's lingering for your team.
Clearly you have a super Bowl great defense. The fact
that it's been as good as it has been without
Patzertown is a phenomenal sign. I just wonder, can this
team win three games in the playoffs? Looks like it'll
be three, not four, three games in the playoffs with
the offense that you've got, And I don't know, I
(23:05):
don't I think that's still very much up in the air.
I just don't know that we necessarily know that you're
not going to get a real test the next couple
of games. You've got Commanders and Raiders coming up right this.
You know your offense has been able to do well
against the Giants and the Cowboys, but then to see
struggles against great defenses, playoff caliber defense is like the
Texans have got the Chiefs have got that. I think
(23:27):
that leads us to a lot of question marks long term.
But from a fantasy standpoint, excited to see what r J.
Harvey is going to do, and I'm very bullish and
what we're going to see from him the next couple
of games, especially Commanders.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
I mean R J.
Speaker 8 (23:40):
Harvey may be in my top ten next week for
running backs because the expectations are I think going to
be very very high for a gigantic game against one
of the really bad defenses in.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
If the running game looks that good next week, I
think would instill a lot of confidence in this offense.
I don't have a lot of confidence in the Falcons
offense though without Kirk Cousins. But I'm invested in some
some Darnell Mooney fantasy shares, some Vijon Robinson. Am I
completely screwed?
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (24:08):
Kind of, Yeah, You're kind of screwed, you know. For
I'll credit the Vikings for pulling the plug on Cousins
when they did get this. He's had seventeen drives this
year because he's been in and out of the offense
a few times. One touchdown and seventeen drives for Kirk Cousins.
Going back to last year, Cousins has one win in
his last seven games with meaningful time and then compounding
(24:31):
matters in the short term for Cousins of the Falcons.
No Drake London this week against the Saints, and he
was the only functional part of that offense. But for
every fantasy player that might be listening right now, what
we really care about is the name that you just mentioned.
What does this mean for Bajon Robinson with Kirk Cousins
at the helm. The worry for me, fantasy guy, is
every opponent is going to play to stop Jon Robinson
(24:52):
and to just take their chances on Kirk Cousins beating
you because he doesn't do that anymore, you know this year.
Speaker 5 (24:58):
Just look this up.
Speaker 8 (25:00):
Jehan Robinson has touched the ball sixteen times with Cousins
as his quarterback. He's averaging two and a half yards
per carry and as zero touches touchdowns on those sixteen
touches with Kirk Cousins, so you know, but John's going
to just have to be superhuman, which at times he
can be. With Kirk Cousins, you know, sometimes he's capable
of being that. But John's great, but every defense is
(25:22):
going to play to stop him. And there's going to
be some dud games coming for Jon Robinson the rest
of the way.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Not to throw on it.
Speaker 6 (25:29):
Yeah, well some of the another guy who might have
some dud games coming up.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
And I double checked the Cleveland blowns.
Speaker 6 (25:34):
I have not retired Shador Sanders number just yet, but
he wouldn't be starting forward as we go. You know,
he went two for two for twelve yards in those
first two passes and it was all downhill from there.
What are we expecting of Sanders getting his first reps
with the starters, by.
Speaker 8 (25:47):
The way, Yeah, so okay, so he gets the right
to be better on a full week of prepping as
the starter, But good lord, this last week. Bad twenty
one drop backs. Last week he had four completions and
as you mentioned, the first two were completed. Then after
that four completions on twenty one dropbacks, two sacks, an
(26:08):
ugly interception Shadire Sanders held the ball too long, the
accuracy was tremendously bad. When the pocket breaks down, and
maybe you've seen this from time to time, Sanders turns
his back to the offense, He turns away from the play.
Unless you're Fran Tarkenton, you can't turn your back to
the offense. And this is what we saw was was
(26:30):
pretty dismal. Now they've got the Raiders coming up.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
Now.
Speaker 8 (26:33):
I know the Raiders obviously are not great, but the
one thing they can do is they can pressure some
quarterbacks with Max Crosby, and Schudar was so bad under
pressure last week. He introduces all new ways for the
Browns to lose games. And I just think he's gonna
siphon off fantasy value, what little fantasy value there was
in Cleveland. He had Jerry Judy and Harold Fannin and
David and Joko that were flex level starters. Shaudure looks
(26:57):
so bad that I think even those he's coming to
question now. And let me mention this, here's this really
deflating play, this scenario out. Schadur's awful, which he was
last week. If that word to continue, Dylan Gabriels can cuss.
Next man up. Deshaun Watson almost ready to come back.
(27:19):
Maybe looking at more DeShawn Watson football.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
No, no, you know, I don't know how the Browns
PR team manages to massage that one of the fans.
Speaker 8 (27:28):
No, especially when the owner savaged him in the middle
of the summer. But it seems safe to do so.
And you're thinking, DeShawn Watson's our four string quarterback. We
never have to worry about him ever playing a down
of football again for this team. Now the windows opened up,
it's not impossible. We're gonna see Deshaun Watson playing football
again real quick, Paul, we.
Speaker 6 (27:49):
Got about sixty seconds level over sixty seconds, Joe Burrow
practicing in full.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
Could make the return here soon.
Speaker 5 (27:55):
What do you think about his fantasy football viability.
Speaker 8 (27:59):
I think he's going to come back this week, which
is great for Joe Burrow a little faster than we expected.
I think won't have Jamar chase the throat dude, thanks,
he was sitting spinning suspension. I mean, if you have you, guys,
ever gotten so mad that you spit on anybody? Ever?
Speaker 3 (28:13):
No, just last segment, just not.
Speaker 8 (28:18):
Ben, We'll do that. Uh, you know I I would
never want to be the door dash driver who delivers
cold fries to Jamar Chase. I'll tell you that much.
Patriots are the opponent this week for Joe Burrow. This
is a good pass defense. It's going to be without
Chase on the field. That leaves star cornerback Christian Zalez
shadowing t Higgins and then the other receivers are Andre
Josavash and Mitchell Tinsley.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (28:41):
I might rest Joe Burrow here, let him shake off
ten week's rust and let's see if we don't get
better matchups in the future when we've got Jamar Chase back.
Speaker 7 (28:50):
Paul.
Speaker 6 (28:51):
It always goes too fast, but we appreciate it as always.

the is the frigidity that we have gone through the
last couple of years.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
It's not bad. It's temperate, and we got the campfire
set up. Iro own Shannon Scott. That's that's making everything better.
It's it's a good.

Connor Shreve in the the first segment, a chance to
talk to him about the open house down there, about
the burnham Yard Stadium that they're having. The mayor was
down there talking about the new stadium. What's going to
impact the neighborhood, the foot traffic, the businesses. Have you
missed any part of that, guys, go to Broncos Country
dot Com, slash podcast or wa whige podcast, Apple iTunes, Spotify,
the free and redesigned iHeartRadio app Dude, where you could
(31:30):
get the taken for granted podcast archives as well. So
I didn't know if Grant was gonna catch that lob
or not.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
Yeah, but he's the best.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
That's why he's the best.
Speaker 5 (31:37):
He is always listening, always, always back there listening. Just
when you think he's not, he's still back there listening.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
And his delivery is better than mine. My voice always cracks.
Speaker 6 (31:44):
You do have like this yodel crack thing going on,
like when you when you when you do it.
Speaker 4 (31:48):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (31:49):
I can't anyway. Yeah, I mean in many ways that
car that just rolled by, I think we can.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
That was.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
It reminded me of the Lagarrett Blunt Le'Veon Bell story
where the cop pulled them over because he could smell
it off the cars they drove by.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Yeah, that was.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
That was.
Speaker 6 (32:04):
That was something else. So, uh, we do appreciate you guys.
Uh listen, we do we part eating you guys coming

stuff that we were able to get for them to
to be able to distribute. We'll come back here in
a little bit. Zach and I are gonna get into
uh a bit more of this this Washington game. Yeah,
the Commanders on Sunday nights. You get the bye week,
(32:34):
you get the late start on that one. You don't
want to be too rusty, but you know what what
that what that team really looks like because they've they've
not played particularly well this year, and you know what
they look like with with and without jayd and Daniel.
So we'll get into that we come back. You guys
listen to Broncos Countries to Night right here on k
