Speaker 1 (00:01):
Yeah, you got me.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Oh, there we go. How you doing this evening?

Speaker 1 (00:05):
I'm here, man, you hear me?

Speaker 2 (00:08):
I can hear you, sir? Can you hear me?

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Yeah? What the funk? What's going on?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Technical difficulties?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Man?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
You get dina hot it is.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
We get deep into these Thursday nights, we get these
technical difficulties. They want us asking what the funk about
everything whenever you come on. So I think that's a
that's the starting point right there. But what the what
the funk is up with these uh, these national punnets
who haven't gone on board the bon Nixt train.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
There's still room on the bandwagon?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Kids?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
What are we doing waiting to get on?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah? You don't watch I was asking the same question, Ben,
And you go back and look at bon Nix's scouting profile.
Let me read a few things directly from the scouting profile.
Doesn't have the arm strength to make deep throws. He
needs to refine his processing. His on field IQ needs polishing.

(00:58):
He struggles with progression. His limited ceiling will make it
tough to justify spending overly valuable draft capital on him.
Just to name a few, the guy played sixty one
games in college football, and most of these scouts got
it wrong on bow Knicks except for Sean Payton. Sean

(01:20):
Payton was the one guy that saw this how good
this kid could be, and it seems like nobody else did.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Yeah, it's fascinating because I mean it's not like the
league doesn't have missus before.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
But Sean was when.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
They got him that night, He was and George Payton
were visibly almost smug in a way. You know, Sean
Payton came to that press conference and he was kind
of half joking about tricking everybody into you know, the
Vikings ended up moving up and drafting JJ McCarthy and
how he was spreading seeds of all kinds of nonsense
over the course so that the draft process, the bow

(01:54):
was a guy and he, you know, he was. He
was down right smug about it. And you know, the
media covered jow on that was pretty in favorable to
Sean and less so probably to Bow. But he seems
kind of vindicated early on here.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Yeah. I feel the same way, And you're right, he
was smug about it because he knew he knew and
as you heard him say even before the draft about
the process of finding the right guy. He said, good
thing we know how to do it, and not too
many other teams do. I'm paraphrasing. He said, that's not
a quote, but yeah, he's been smugged since the beginning,

(02:32):
and he knew he got his guy in training camp.
You could tell he knew that was going to be
the guy that that was going to be the franchise quarterback.
And the first couple of weeks it looked so good,
and Sean Payton was throwing a lot at him. Sean
Payton's one of those head coaches that throws a lot

(02:53):
at a young quarterback, and we saw that with bone Nix.
You know, he was drinking water out of a fire
hose there for the first three four games, and then
it started to come together for him. And now it's
really coming together for him, and man, it's fun to watch.
I think this kid's going to continue to get better
and better. And I'm starting to get a feeling. I

(03:15):
get these feelings. Man, I'm feeling like this team is
about to go on a run down the stretch. I'm
not saying they're going to go six and oher, but
I think they're going to go on a run down
the stretch and they are going to be a playoff
team this year, and if they get in, and when
they get in, they are going to be a tough
out for whoever they play. I'm feeling that good about it.

(03:36):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
I mean, you look at the way the schedule sets
up here over the next month or so, it's pretty favorable.
I mean, you go to the Raiders, You've got the
Cleveland Browns who are playing right now on Thursday Night football.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
You got the Colts.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
I mean, these games are some winnable games for the
Denver Broncos. The back end of the schedule is a
little tough, but you might catch some breaks. You've got
a Chargers team that's playing lights out right now. You've
got a Bengals team that may or may not have
packed it in by that point. And then the last
game of the season against Kansas City, it normally has
a tough game, but Andy re loves the rest of
those starters. In the week before the playoffs. Who knows,
you might you might get the B team from Kansas City.

(04:11):
And you know, so this thing, this this schedule breaks
really favorably for the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeah. I was going to say the same thing about
the Kansas City game. Uh, that's probably going to be
a game where the Chiefs have everything wrapped up and
we'll be playing their gav in that game. And in
regarding the Chargers, oh Nicks hadn't figured it out yet
when the Broncos played the Chargers earlier this season, and
I think the Broncos will give them a much better

(04:39):
game when they play them in LA. And Bengals, who knows,
Bengals is such an up and down team. By the
time we get to the Bengals at the end of
the season, they may be checked out as well. So
you're right, it's looking very, very favorable for this team.
They play a really beat up Raiders team this week
that might have six starters out defense, you know, So

(05:02):
Broncos are catching a lot of breaks, you know, with
this type of situation with the teams they've been playing,
teams that have had a ton of injuries, and the
Broncos are a relatively healthy football team and hopefully they
continue to be down the stretch, because things are looking
up for this football team for this franchise. Even if
the Broncos don't quite make it into the playoffs this year,

(05:25):
say they win nine games and don't get in but
I think they're going to win more than that. You've
got a lot to look forward to in twenty twenty
five because this team is going to spend some money
in the offseason. They're going to load up that offensive
side of the ball, which is going to make bo
Nicks look even better next year.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, I was talking with color analysts that never Broncos
Rick lowis Rick.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
You know, there is some talent over there for the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
I know, the defense, she's bad, they're missing, you know,
going to be a bunch of starters on top of them.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
But on the offense, they got a kid over there
at tight end, brock.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Bauers, who is on pace to set some records, the
records that are still a long time at the tighten position,
says nineteen sixty one with Mike Ditka, Bowers has been
a heck of an asset, and we saw what he
could do in that first matchup, as he had over
seventy yards on nine catches in a big time touchdown
for the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Early.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Are we at all concerned that brock Bauers could get
loose a little bit in this one.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Maybe make it a game?

Speaker 1 (06:18):
You know what, I think he's generational talents and interesting
that he's going after a Mike Ditka record that was
so long ago. People only remember Mike Ditka as that
crabby head coach that he was for the New Orleans Saints,
you know, the game that passed him by at that point.

(06:40):
But no, I think brock Bowers is really good and
he looks like really their only weapon potentially this Sunday
against the Broncos. So that's going to give Advance Joseph
some options on how you slow him down or even
shut him down. I mean, do you put PS two
on him? Probably not, but I think he's going to
get at his catches. You just got to make sure

(07:02):
the catches all stay underneath and you know, let him
do his thing. And I don't think they have too
many other guys that can hurt you on offense. Their
running game is non existent. They're probably going to be
playing their third string running back a mirror Abdulah is
what it's looking like. So no, I'm not too worried
about them really on either side of the ball. You

(07:24):
just have to take care of business. You've got to
go in there and be serious about beating this Las
Vegas Raiders team. You've never won in Vegas. You've got
to break that streak this week. The destiny is in
your hands and the destiny starts Sunday in Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Well, I love it, Drick, and yeah they do.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
They just got to put one foot in front of
the other, keep winning football games, and they're going to
wake up and find themselves in the playoffs and maybe further.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
We'll see see how that shakes out. Real quick, last
last question from me.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
As we look at this running back rotation, which has
just stimied every observer in terms of which way they're
going to go this week, how are we feeling about
the running backroom against the Raiders.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah, I've given up on Javonte Williams twice this season,
and I feel kind of bad about it. Every time
I do. He bounces back. You know, it seems like
Sean Payton likes to go with a hot hand. There's
nobody that really stands out in this group. I think
there are three capable running backs there, and they all
present a little bit of a different challenge. I would

(08:23):
say to opposing defenses. I think it's going to be
Chavonte this week, and we'll see. We'll see plenty of
Estimate and Juliel, but I think Javonte will be the
primary ball carrier this week like we saw last week.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Well, le Eric, looking.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
