Off in my heart radio app nailed it. I did

It did not nail it. I did not I try

blank stare. So it's like, we gotta we gotta teach
you about this. I'm gonna teach you what I you know,
what you're supposed to do here the nail you might
just need to record a nailed it drop and that
way he can just play it.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Ben.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
I don't know if you were aware of this, but
the hand segments that you were gesturing towards Grant, it's
like it was not it was down, like like you
were commanding a dog to sit.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I'm pushing a button. That's not that's that's okay. I'm
pushing a button here. I told a dog to sit,
it would be more like more like a finger wag
be like okay, I don't, I don't. I don't get that.
But I guess that's you and the grant things. So
you know what I say, we got we got a
synergy here. It's been a few years. Guys.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
I am doing great, Ben, how are you guys?
Speaker 2 (01:36):
We're we're doing well.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
I am up against Ryan Edwards in fantasy football this week, and.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
I went out and got I went out. I managed
to snag a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Somebody had let Tua out there on the free agency
because Josh Allen is out for me, so I got Tua.
Uh but I made a mistake left Nick Chubb on
my bench last night, and uh, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
I might be playing from behind on this one.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
That's a really tough one to leave on the bench.
You know, you never know how those games are going
to go in the snow, so I figured it was
going to be a big running game. But like I said,
you know, his usually just been a little bit radic
and that offense has been absolutely horrendous. So no one
can fault you for for that too too much. So
hopefully it doesn't hurt you, and hopefully Toua can come
up with a big game against the Patriots this week.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Here's hoping we do have some interesting stuff. I've got
Terry McLaurin at wide receiver. You know, Cliff Kingsbury offenses
have always started off hot, but they're kind of tailed
off in the second half of the season.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Are we expecting the Cliff.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Kingsbury Bottom to fall out on this or is he
going to keep this thing going with Jade and Daniels.
Speaker 5 (02:37):
I think he's going to keep this thing going. I
really like this offense. It has a lot of different facts,
it's different pieces. I mean, it's really tough, I think,
to defend against it because there are so many different
kind of options for Jayden Daniels and he just really
opens up that playbook. So I really hope that what
we're seeing is the indicative of what we'll see for
the rest of the season, especially for kind of all
(02:57):
my shares in this Washington offense. Really hoping for a
good game against Dallas. I think that, yeah, it's shaping
up to be one of the better fantasy offensives, which
I don't think we could have said at the beginning
of the season.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Well both LEAs has said the face off against the
Raiders in the first outing, the Broncos struggled a little offensively,
but whatever was able to get things back on track.
And when you look at the Raiders that got a
couple of guys banged up.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
What would you.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Say that this could be another big game, not for
Bow but for Courtland Sudden?
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Sure.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
I mean, I actually do think it could be a
big game for Bo. He's actually one of my favorite
streamers of this week. I mean, if he's QB seven
through eleven weeks, and that definitely someone that I think
I thought go off with a lot of labor wires
and definitely a good pickup if you have Josh Allen
or you have Joe Burrow or something like that. But
in terms of Courtland's got him, I'm excited about him.
(03:54):
Why receive fourteen over eleven weeks, three consecutive games with
eleven plus ten points and half PPR, and the Raiders
haven't been the easiest match up for Fantasy wide receivers
seventy of Fantasy points to the position this year, so
I would temper executions, but that's that. I really like
the number of targets and looked at Portland's jetting on
(04:14):
the field, so I think that, you know, he has
a higher floor than a lot of guys in that
kind of wide receiver three range. So I think he's
an excellent sex option and could definitely do a lot
of damage in the game.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
There's some interesting over unders this week.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
One of the the big ones is Cowboys Commanders, and
we talked a little.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Bit about that a minute ago. You know, you talked
about Cliff But on.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
The Cowboys side, if you got h if you've got
some of their receivers or skilled position players, I mean,
are we calling the are we calling that am Anthony
Hopkins because it's going to be the silence of the
Lamb for fantasy owners.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
Well, you know, thankfully that Lamb did have a good game.
A lost these fourteen point six fantasy points and half PPR.
So I mean, I think that there's still hope because
if there's these guys are so talented and Jake Ferguson
is out this week, so I think that he can
have more targets. It's not a toll like with just
(05:08):
Sell on this team. Certainly, the Jack injury hurts this
Moop offense obviously, but you know, I think Ceedee Lamb
kind of falls from that elite here where you know,
I think he was drafted in a lot of leaves
as the wide receiver one, and he's probably kind of
falling into that wide receiver pen sort of range so
he's definitely someone that you're continuing to start with. To
(05:29):
be quick, I can't imagine a situation where I'm sitting
cde Lamb for someone, but even a temper our expectations,
of course, he's probably in that same range this week,
is you know someone that is like a deacon A
Calf or Terry McGuire or something like that.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Now, so far this season, we haven't really seen c J.
Stroud look anything like he looked last season, and it
seems though once they getting aside the high red zone,
the ball is turned over into the hands of Joe Mixon.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Is this a game this week c J.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Strow kind of gets back on t against a team
like the Titans.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
I mean, I definitely think it could be. It's been
a concerning season for Stroud. I think he's hit a
bit of a little bit of software slump. The depletion
percentage has been similar to that of his rookie campaigns,
and his yards were attempts and touchdowns have gone down,
while sacks and intersections have written. He's thrown for fewer
than I was actually going to talk about this number
(06:26):
in terms of the passing yards over under, but he's
gone under that number and just over half of games
this year has a tough matchup, kind of cheat up
for Week twelve against the Titans. You know, the Titans
are allowing an NFL low one hundred and seventy nine
passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks. Have actually only
allowed a quarterback to go over two hundred and fifty
(06:47):
passing yards all year, which was Josh Allen in Week seven.
Stroud has played the Titans once in his short career,
which was last New Year's Eve. He threw her two
hundred and thirteen yards and one touchdown in that game,
So it is the second lowest PA total of the week.
I'm really tempering expectations and strong and that that is
why I do like the under on his past his
two hudred and forty and a half.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
By the way, talking with Samantha Praviti, Samantha, we have
a question here from Dave Kepper in Denver who says,
which fantasy quarterbacks would you start over?
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Bonix?
Speaker 5 (07:18):
Oh goodness, that's just a little nice twist to my my,
my Carolina Panthers. But fantasy quarterbacks we start over Bonick.
It's actually a short list this week. I mean We've
got sixteen done by, so it's I mean, I would
obviously go with someone like you know, they're still list
to short. It's Jalen Hurts, It's it's Lamar Jackson, It's
(07:41):
it's Kyler Murray, Justin Herbert Stealen Daniels. I mean, maybe
Patrick Mahomes, which sounds really weird, but he's been a
pretty bad fantasy quarterback this year. They are playing the Panthers,
so you know, I think I'd probably take Mahomes there.
You could maybe argue Likeker Mayfield or Jared Goff, but
that's pretty much the range that boonexted in, so I'm
(08:04):
taking him definitely in that mid QB runs here.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
This week, now, we've seen the Bears make some changes
peasantly and Thomas Brown took over, and the Bears offense
looked like it had a little more rhythm, but they're
playing a talented Vikings defense. Do you think that this
could be a week for fantasy and owners to try
to get a little more out of some of the
Bears receivers all DJ.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Moore, Yeah, I mean I think we're all hoping for
a little bit more almost from this Chicago offense. Moore
did have a pretty good game outly ten Fantasy points,
and it's certainly not where we expected him. I mean,
it's not like I've seen like a couple flashes here.
I mean, he did score twenty five Fantasy points against
(08:49):
my Panthers, but I don't think that says too too
much about about him, so you know, hopefully he can
get back on track. I do think it is a
tougher matchup this week, so I'm gonna temper expectations. I
do like Kyla Williams in this game, though, I think,
you know, he's just got that super high floor with
a rushing so he's still someone that I'm starting. But
I would play DJ Moore and kind of like the
(09:11):
other receivers still, we're kind of I mean, more is
the best of them were I would put him in
that wide receiver three sort of tear so not super
excited to start him this week, but certainly you don't
have better options, Like a lot of people are prettylean
at receiver this week, you know, with Jamar Chase and
Garrett Wilson and lots of those guys out this week,
(09:33):
So you know, I don't hate him as a start,
but it's it's still the Bears offense.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
So Martha, for people who have Josh Allen on a
buy are struggling for quarterbacks, is Brandon Allen a viable
solution there for the San Francisco forty nine ers this week?
Speaker 5 (09:49):
I would I would definitely shy away from him. I
think there are better options for you out there. You know,
I did notice that, like Anthony Richardson, is still widely
availab though in a number of leagues a lot of
people dropped him. Obviously makes sense, and just when everyone
is ready to give up on him, he comes back
at the best game of his year. So I'm want
to temper expectations on him, essentially against the Lions, who
(10:12):
have been very solid events against fantasy quarterbacks, but certainly
a guy that I feel like, you know, you could
definitely plug in if he had been floating around. In
terms of guys that might be a little bit more available.
Drake May as someone who is widely available. Consensus ranked
at the QUB fifteen this week in Miami since the
Patriots made the switch to May in week sixty, is
(10:33):
the tenth at the position and blogged nineteen fantasy points
last week against the Rams it is a little bit
of a top our matchup this week, but certainly thinks
that he could be a sort of plug and play
option in a in a deeper league. And yeah, they're
just a number of other guys. I would probably play
Tim Tommy de Veto over Brandon now and or I
(10:57):
don't know. Yeah, so it just for a fantasy purposes,
and I think it's a better match up against the Buccaneers,
So that's probably the direction that I would go.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Grant Is grant Is frantically searching. He says, Will Levis
or Brandon Allen. He's that hard up right now.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Probably Will Levis over Brandon Allen.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
At this point, she said the gun, Grant the gun
over days.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Well, you know what's interesting you talk about Drake May
and the Patriots because Remandre Stevenson, right like, at the
beginning of the season, it didn't really look.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Right for him, but over the past couple.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Of weeks, he's been turning it up from a fantasy standpoint.
Do you like the matchup this week with the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
I do like the match of the seed. Yeah. I
think it's one of those things that we have this
stigma against Bill Belichick wielded running backs and look at
what's happening now. So I really do like what's going
on for Ramondre Stephenson and the The Dolphins are actually
ranked ninth against They are actually allowing the ninth most
(11:58):
fantasy points to running back this year. So I think
that that's going to be a really good matchup for him.
I could definitely see him finally on the Beast once
this week.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Talking with Smith Vy Smyth, you know, we always love
hearing the great prop bets that you've you've got scheduled
for this week.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
What are some what are some prop bets you like
this weekend?
Speaker 5 (12:17):
Sure, So I'll just go back to that first one
that I talked about, just so I reiterated, it's j
Stroud under two hundred and forty and a half passing
yards minus one ten. I just made a note that,
you know, the Titans are a really tough matchup, and
it's the second lowest point total of the week, so
he's definitely been underwhelming in terms of the passing. So
I really like that under. I like Tyrone Tracy uh
(12:40):
which is under seventy eight and a half rushing plus
receiving yards. It's minus one fifteen on bets three sixty five.
His role is expanding in his offense as each week
passes and sence Week five went in Singletary with her
Tracy is the fantasy r D ten. He outsets Singletary
sixty to seventy in Week ten and has fresh legs
(13:01):
coming off of the sixteen five week. The Buccan years
are definitely exploitable against running backs, having allowed these fifth
most fantasy points and most receiving yards to the position
this year. But also like the over on his rushing attempts,
which is fourteen and a half and he would have
eclipsed this total in each of the last three weeks
and five of the last six, so really really looking
(13:24):
at him as a guy that's on the rise. Another
young names I like this week is lad Maconkey over
five and a half reception. The second rounder from Georgia
has at these five catches and sixty percent of games
this year, coming up of a six catch, one hundred
and twenty three yard game against the Bengals. See Ravens
are an absolute dream matchup, giving up the most fantasy points,
(13:45):
second most receptions to wide receivers this year, have allowed
a receiver to have these five receptions in every game
since Week five. He is dealing it as a shoulder injury,
but with Zack at practice today and should be good
to go for Monday in that same game. I also
like Clinton Johnson's anytime touchdown that's plus one ninety five
on draftings. It was probably surprised you to know that
(14:08):
Johnson has the sixth most receiving touchdowns this year with
only eight games played. He's going to get up against
that Ravens Stefens, which has allowed an NFL high sixteen
touchdowns to wide receivers this year. Johnson has a touchdown
in each of his last three games since returns of injury,
and the applied odds on this one is about thirty
four percent. So as far as any time bets go this,
(14:31):
we need to be my absolute save in terms of value.
And then last woman I'm gonna mention is Kade On
at the Giants under sixty and a half receiving yards
that's minus one twenty five at draftings and has actually
been super solid this season and will like the end
the season top ten at this position, maybe even higher
(14:52):
just because the position has been that crazy. But he
did mix the mark in Week ten against the forty
nine ers and has a toper roadmassive against the Giants.
To speak, for all the issues that Giants have had,
they've actually been impressively impressively good against tight ends and
have allowed the fewest fantasy points to the position at
us yards position and have only allowed this many receiving
(15:13):
yards to a tight end once, which was sack back
in the week too. So give me the under on
Taida and receiving yards, Samantha.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
We appreciate it as always at Samantha NFL. Samantha Bravedi
loves the fantasy football and props advice and look forward
to cashing this weekend.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Thank you so much and good duck.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Absolutely take care, Samantha Prevadi. We come back. It's the
NFL six pack, five sixty six nine zeros.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
The text line shouts to Jody Jordan for the Cranberry juice,
the cranberry mixed juice out there. I brought brought in
someone nectar for these guys the other day. The cram pineapple.
It is delicious. If you've not had it, you should
definitely have it. It is absolutely phenomenal. Even though Nick
Ferguson's a weirdo and and still Martinellay's guy, why my
weardo because it suits my purpose for I'll a weirdo.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Don't drink the cramp kind of delicious. It wasn't not delicious,
nectar of the guy. See there you go. I think
it's a white people thing. I don't know it is
a white people thing. You know what I got today?
I was in the show.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
I started randomly laughing. I just busted out laughing. I
was in the shower right and the washcloth thing, like,
oh my god, and I was like I could not stop.
I just I'd like braced myself in the shower because
I was laughing so hard.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Okay, here's the biggest question. You saw the washcloth? Did
you pick it up?
Speaker 5 (16:29):
No?
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Actually it was That's not what happened. Wasn't a washcloth
in there? It was what happened was And here's how
my weird brain works.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Ross Kaminski does not wash his legs terrible like to listen,
soap go down.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
He swears that's enough, right, And I keep meaning to
ask him every time I want to show about this thing,
and I never get a chance to do it, because
you know me, I'm like over a clean guy, right,
and so I never get a chance to.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
And I don't know why, but I was washing my.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Legs today and then I think about the ross not.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Washing his legs, and then I was like, you know this.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Playing the conversation out of my head and then going
back to the wash cloth, and all I like, I
could not. I had to stop, like I had to
stop for a minute because I just I don't know it,
just had have your roll and laughing again.
Speaker 6 (17:03):
The real question is was it your second or third
shower of the day?
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Second? Okay, so the third'll be when I get home
and before I get into bit.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
I'm not taking this dirty you know this nonsense, So
it'll be my third shower by the time I get there. Yeah,
if you wonder why water prices are so hot, you're welcome, Colorado.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Let's get to it. The NFL six pack. It's time
for the NFL six pad. I'm gonna trade a lot
of beer, insight and insight information you can't find anywhere else.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
No.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Six the top six NFL headline, What OI the Raiders
are in trouble? Running back to the Ameer White and
Alexander Madison.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Both banged up this week.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Both have doubtful designations per coachy Antonio Pierce. Today, they
combined for one hundred and sixty two carries, five hundred
three yards four touchdowns on the season. Pier set of
mirror Abdulla will lead to backfield Dylan lab will back
up Abdullah.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
He has seventeen carries, eighty two yards and a touchdown
this season.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Also, on the the entry block, Jack Cory and Bennett
and Nate Hobbs will not play. Those are easily along
with Jack Joes, their best corners Darnay Holmes, de Cameron
Richards and Sam Webb or the other corners on the
fifty three.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
And if you're asking who I am too, center Odre.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
James practiced today but still questionable Jackson Powers. Johnson will
start Sunday's game at the center position for the Raiders.
Are the walking wounded coming to this Broncos matchup?
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Yeah, they are, And they just kind of remind me
of a couple of.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Games of the Broncos have faced teams who've had some
health issues. They just faced the Falcons that had some
defensive health issues a couple of weeks ago, face the
Panthers who had some issues on both sides of the ball,
and think sets up perfectly for the Denver Broncos. You
play who's on your list of team that you're supposed
to play. Last week, the Broncos defense gave up six
(18:46):
points against a very talented Falcons team. Now you got
a Raiders team that's kind of trying to find their way.
Now what's the over under on how many points they're
gonna go?
Speaker 2 (18:55):
I think it's gonna be a similar thing.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I think you would have an absolute boat race here
at thirty five to ten scores is what I see
in this one for the.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
For the Broncos two.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
The Giants announced that they have released Daniel Jones, but
he did not appear on the league's transaction report today,
which likely means the team waves him tomorrow and you
just seeing if they get a trade off or anything
for him, which they won't. He will go through waivers,
but because of his contract, it's incredibly likely that he
clears and becomes a free agent, because I don't think
anybody's taking that contract. Daniel Jones asked owner John Mara
(19:28):
for his release today, Giants agreed.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
The move was announced, just not yet processed.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
The Giants had demoted Jones to fourth on the death
chart because of a twenty three million dollar injury guarantee
on his contract for next season.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Jones, who has twenty seven, finishes his time at.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
New York with a twenty four forty four and one record,
fourteen five eight two passing yards, seventy passing touchdowns, forty
seven interceptions. He also ran for two one and seventy
nine yards and fifteen touchdowns. Raise your hand if you
knew that Daniel Jones had run for fifteen touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
No, I didn't know that, but I knew he was
very at lets and that was something that Brian Davis
should have leaned into knowing as though he came from
Buffalo where they had Josh Allen. But Dan Jones in
a tough situation, not a lot of talent. He losers
started running back and say, Barkley, your offensive line can't
really block that.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Well, the best thing the Giants had was their defense.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
So tough situation, but look, I'm glad that Dan Jones
would have an opportunity to go.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
To another team.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
I'm thinking possibly go to the Buffalo Bills and be
their backup quarterback an Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
He can say Quon Barkley. Barkley left the Giants as
a free agent. Daniel Jones leaving the Giants on the
waiver wire. Barkley thos hoping things work out for the
quarterback as they did for him in signing with the Eagles.
A running back rank second in the NFL with eleven
hundred and thirty seven rushing yards this season, putting him
in the conversation for Offensive Player of the Year.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Barkley set up been in contact with him.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Our friendship has stayed close throughout the whole process of
me being here.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
It sucks to see everything went down from over there.
I've got nothing good, great things to say about him.
You're not really gonna find anybody that could say negative
things about him. Because of his contract, Jones obviously expected
to clear waivers and be a free agent. Matter of fact,
just about everybody had a positive thing to say about
Daniel Jones. Conspicuously absent from all that, however, Malik Nabors
didn't post anything. Just another interesting thing with the mercurial
(21:12):
rookie wide receiver. Very talented but mercurial rookie wide receiver
saque Marky. Though gussion about Daniel Jones is that a
shot at the Giants culture. Is that just him sticking
up for his buddy? Is it more to it here?
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Am I overreading this thing? I think it's it's it's both.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Because Saque has been in that situation. He knows how
toxic that Giants organization is, because it was one of
the reasons that he was kind of pushed out and
going to division rival Eagles. But that was the way
of just kind of patting Daniel Jones on the bag,
telling him, look, man, I understand.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
What you're going to or what you're going through, but now.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
You're going to go to a different type of situation
and hopefully it's a better one than the one that
you've been with and had to endure under the New
York Giants.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Of all the things to happen today after Daniel Jones
announced that or they announced that he's getting.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Released, the one stat that came up that absolutely.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Dropped my jaw is that Daniel Jones is the only
quarterback in the NFC to have ever beaten Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Lamar is twenty three and one in his career against
the NFC.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Well, I guess that's something that you can hang your
head on at the end of the day, said that
you were the quarterback that defeated probably twice three times,
the MVP and Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
I'm just saying like he's the only NFC quarterback who
ever beat.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
The bolt of the Lamar Jackson led Ravens. Are you
kidding me? In twenty four tens? Well, he may have
to put that on some kind of post board put
on your fridge. Yes, mob's putting it up there with
a third grade report card.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
To beat Lamar.
Speaker 6 (22:44):
Now nothing else to put out there for Daniel Wow,
grant the.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Mustache man Smith firing shots from back there.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
My goodness.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Stephen Jones says he does not regret trading for Trey Lance.
Cowboys owner Jared Jones said after Monday nights loss to
the Texans he doesn't have a desire to see trade
Lance before the end of the season.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Cowboys gave up a fourth round pick for the quarterback.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Lance, who was yet to start a game in Dallas,
becomes a free agent. Marsh trade will likely go down
as one of the worst in team history. General manager
John lynch Ad made it his team got more for
Lance than expected.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
San Francisco used the one hundred and twenty fourth overall.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Pick on safety Malik Mustafa, who has played ten games
with six starts. Cowboys have drafted a running back at
that spot. Bucks rookie Bucky Irving, forty nine Ers rookie
Isaac Worrendo, and Jet's rookie Braylen Allen all have had
success in the season and have been We're drafted around
that spot.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
For the first time.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Cowboys Executive VP Stephen Jones admitted the uncertainty with Dad
Prescott's future spurred the trade. Cowboys didn't sign Prescott to
an extension until a year later. Steven Jones said, Lance
is the top tier pick guy we had at the top.
As you know, Dak was coming up for a contract.
We want to take a look at a good young talent.
Didn't feel like we could get anything from a quality
standpoint like we.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Could get with Trey. As it turns out, we ended
up a da long term. So obviously that puts uh
less in terms of the need to rush to do
something with Trey. I don't regret it at all.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Jerry Jones said Cooper Rush will continue playing because he
gives the Cowboys, who are three and seven, the best
chance to win with Prescott out for the season with
a torn hamstring and will just continue to sit like
the leave without ever starting a regular season game.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Cowboys gave up a fourth rounder and.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Paid him six point two to five million dollars for
two seasons of literally nothing.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Well, the Cowboys don't really know what they're doing because
they really jacked this situation up one by trading for
a Lance and two by waiting so long to get
a deal done with Ceedee Lamb and Dak Prescott, where
they ended up, in my opinion, overpaying for both guys.
And they still haven't signed Michael Parson for If I'm Parsons,
I don't want to come back to that dumpsifire at all.
(24:47):
I want to go somewhere else, maybe move on a
East coast and join his former coach Washington Thelanders. Why
not and just be a Thorn and Jerry side on
every single play and really quickly when we look at
Trey Lan, I don't think Trey is as bad as
most people say that he is. And right now when
Cooper Rush is your quarter, but what do you have
to lose? Given Trey a couple of more reps in
(25:09):
the last couple of games in the season.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
I don't understand. I understand why you wouldn't. I mean,
you're out of it at this point.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Another loss, you're completely out of it. You're you're mathematically eliminated.
So I don't understand. I don't understand that thought process
at all. You know what we need, though, is anytime
we're referencing the Commanders, we need to start pentor drop
from g I Joe the cartoons and he's like peas
like command I need that drop to put in the
anytime we talk Commanders, any to put that on the soundboard.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Make that happen.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Five forty and Niers quarterback Brandon Allen calls first starts
since twenty twenty one an opportunity to.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Go out and play well. I guess that's setting a
new low bar for what you can do.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
I guess broc party will travel, but sort us in
the right shoulders going to keep it from playing against.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
The Packers instead. Brandon Allen will.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Make his first start since the final week of the
twenty twenty one season. Alan told reporters Friday that it's
an opportunity. Circumstances are what they are. We've been kind
of dealing with injuries here, and there's been a big
next man up mentality.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Allen is thirty two.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
It was the third string quarterback last season after originally
signing with the Niners. When Sam Darnold left for the Vikings,
the Niners signed Josh Dobbs. Allen beat out Dobbs for
the backup job. He says he feels very comfortable in
the offense and he's ready to go. Allen has only
made nine starts in his career, going two and seven.
He only played sixteen games, throwing three passes the last
three years. Never questioned whether he'd get another chance to start,
(26:26):
he said, my opportunity now, I'm gonna take care of
it now, Brandon Allen.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Are we giving him any chance against the Packers on Sunday?
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Yeah, I'm just going to give him chances because here's
what I know. You know, people and players and creatures
are have it. And when you see a guy on
the team that's suffering a lot of injuries and who
has when he started a lot, had a lot of
success in the league, you think, Okay, well, maybe I
don't really have to study that hard.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Maybe I don't have to bring my a game.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
So there may be an opportunity that Brendon Allen had
to very beginning of the game, can make a couple
of plays against Jeff Hapley's defense. And oh, by the way,
Halfy is facing off agains his former employer in the
forty nine, and so he wants to go out there
and have a great Sean. I'll say this, I'm rooting
for any player that gets an opportunity to have a
(27:13):
second or maybe even the third act. So kudos to
Brandon Allen for being in this situation. I wistened a
lot of succays. That doesn't mean that he's gonna have it,
but I'm wishing.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
To to him. You know, we need we need a
Nick Ferguson's third Act team every year. That's what we need.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
Nick Ferguson's third act. We're gon we're gonna make this
has its like the Mad Team, except it's dudes that
are on like the third the third chance. We're gonna
make this.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
We're gonna make this dream of reality sick. Speaking the
guys on the on their second or third act, The
Chiefs are signing free agent left tackle DJ Humphries, and
Rapport of NFL Media reports the Chiefs are paying up
the four and a half million for the rest of
the season. Humphrees is medically clear to return to play
It for a covering for a porn acl Week seventeen
of last year. He visited the Giants in October, but
(27:57):
they didn't offer him a contract, which should be very
telling because the Giants need all kinds of offensive line help.
Humphreys was thirty spent his first nine season with the
Arizona Cardinals after they made him a first round draft pick.
He started all ninety eight games he played in his career,
gouding fifteen last season, made the Pro Bowl in twenty
twenty one. Does Humphries make any sort of difference for
the Chiefs this year?
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Is probably a depth guy.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
But what about the Giants letting a tackle get away
when they've had such a dearth of talent at the
offensive line.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Well, I'll say this, usually with a team doesn't allow
offensive linemen to.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Leave, but if they do, do you think age, injury
or paycheck.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
But in this case, they may just look at Humphreys
as saying, well, maybe he wasn't cutting the muscle, And
by all accounts, the Giants actually did Humphreys a favor.
I mean, you go from a team that's on the
sinking ship to one that's barely offer a contract.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Well, the Cardinals were the ones to let him go.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Giants didn't even offer a contract when he came in,
and now the Chiefs are like, oh, we'll take him.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Well, once again, the Chiefs need some offensive line help
and this made something that the Broncos can exploit in
a couple of weeks when the Broncos round out the
twenty twenty four to twenty five season facing off against
the chief So I'm all four because that means maybe
Jonathan Cooper or Nick Benito could finish.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
The season with some more sacks.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Right, I'm here for and I definitely for Coop or
Nick Cassa Benito. He explodes right through you to be
able to go out there and add to their sack totals.
And that is your NFL six pack. I want to
circle back to see you, Kansas. I do believe this's
gonna be the toughest game for the Buffs this year.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
I really do. Obviously, we'll have the game right here.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
On KOA tomorrow afternoon, and then you know, those of
you watching that, if you're watching it, if you're listening
to it obviously here on KOA. If you're watching it,
Army and Notre Dame right afterwards, so the most important
game right after that.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
So it's like a good undercard. I think it says you.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
No, but if you just see what it does look like,
the toughest game that they played probably could be the
toughest game all year for him.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Well, the reason why it's going to be tough because
with so much at.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
Stake, you beat Utah at home big and now everyone
is looking at you to play in Arlington, Texas. I
believe that game would be on December seventh for the
Big twelve matchups, so everyone is already pizzling in and
notice that's at pencil because the CU Buffs still have
to go out and win these last two games.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
So it is going to be very tough.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
But if you're coach Proms, this is exactly where you've
always wanted your team to be and to think of.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Things with the opportunity to make waves. And all they
have to do is go out there and play well.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
But some keys for the CU Buffs, they have to
do a better job with their route progressions and stop
running so many deep routes, but also they have to
do a great job running the ball and they have
to stop the run.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
If they're able to do that, they win this game
sound week. I think that's a big thing for me.
Speaker 4 (30:47):
I do need to see a little bit more of
a commitment to the run game, especially as we get
later on in the season here, because you're going to
have to be able to run the ball.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
If you do make the playoffs, you're going to have
to be able to run it. You can't be one dimensional.
Let these teams can tending to tee off on your offense.
And if you want deep developing routes that you have
to have a thread of the run for that stuff
to exist. Well, let me let me flip flip that
just a little.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
I mean, obviously you want to get your run game going,
but there's still ways to utilize your running backs to
make them somewhat of an obstacle or problem rather for
the posing defense. You know, yes, it's always for me.
It's not just running the ball. It is creative ways
to get your guys touches from a running back standpoint,
(31:28):
where you can get that middle linebacker to run like
you run. Those kind of like plays where the running
back is kind of running the kind of like a suite,
but it's not like a pass, but you can get
him an extent out now, and that creates a passing
window that you can exploit.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
They had a fun little play. I wasn't there. There
was a fun little player.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
I saw somebody run last week and I'm trying to
remember who it was, but it was a It was
a you had gun back right and you ran. They
ran like a screen, a running back screen to the right.
But the slot player on the left side was running
a slant and you rea the middle linebacker.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
He went and pursued down and bit down on the screen.
You were going to the slant. If not, you were
going to the screen. I'd love to see you add
that to that. I think that'd be a great little play,
a great little rinkle based on what they do that
would fit the offense well.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
To me, it's just like those misdirection plays.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
If you look at the play that I think was it,
whether it Nate Atkins or Trotman who scored against the
Falcons because the Broncos was the.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
One going back the well, Okay, not that one.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
I think it was Troutman who score because it was
two backs slot and what they did, they you know,
used Marvin Mims to run like, look like it's gonna
be some kind of screen plant pass to get all
the defense to kind of swing in that direction, and
then they isolated the linebacker backside and threw it to
the tight end on.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
The seam route.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
To me, I love that creation by the Denver Broncos.
Hope to see more of it on Sunday against the Raiders.
But that has not some of the creativity that I
would love to see from Pat Sherman.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Yeah, and you're gonna need to see some of that
coming down the stretch. He's just going to be the
toughest game for them. I am skeptical. I am frankly,
I am skeptical of their chances in this game.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
I you know, it'd be great for great see you,
great for the state, great for the program to get
this win and continue this journey.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
But this is what I'm a little skeptical about it.
Kansas team is playing a lot better than they're being
given credit for.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Once again, if you are able to control the Jayhawks
two running backs and make sure you keep their quarterback contained,
now everything sets up for the CU defense.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
But now you have to tackle, but they do have
experience with that. UCF was kind of an offense.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
You had to do that too.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
They did a good job with that, So there is hopingness.
I'll hope not lost obviously the game right here on
ka Wait tomorrow. Mork Johnson on the call, right between
the eyes, can't wait, can't wait to hear it here
just ne Broncos Country Night.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
Ki waity them
