to be a voice. ESPN announced last Friday that Moss
would be stepping away indefinitely from Sunday NFL Countdown, where

he had received a stint in his liver on Thanksgiving
due to a separate medical issue. While he was receiving
the stint, doctors discovered cancer cells and his bile duct
between the pancreas and the liver. Moss said he underwent
a six hour surgery in Charlotte this week to remove
the cells. The surgery, which is called a Whipple procedure,
there is a complex surgery that can have risks. Moss, however,

said it was a success at it, he would still
need to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. It's going to be
a tough road with the chemo and radiation, but like
I said, man, I'm good. Moss also thanked his doctor's
family and friends by name, and said he saw people's
prayers and well wishes on social media, including former teammates, saying,
I really felt that my family really felt that. Hall

when he explained in another live that he would be

The homes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelsey, Joe Burrow, and
some mothers have been broken into. Burrow, of course, the
latest during the Cincinnati Bengals game on Monday night. Burrow
it's the third known NFL player to be targeted in
a string of high profile attacks. NFL security partnering with
the FBI to investigate Lee. Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed this week,

I've been in touch directly with the Union as well
as our security department. So yes, there are things that
all of us can do to take precautions and should do.

at stake in their places because you know, I mean people,
it's easier to target a group when you know specifically
they're not going to be home because they're obviously playing
on a Monday, Sunday or Thursday night game, and those
situations create opportunities for people who are going to do
those kinds of things. You know, there are things that

you can do to secure your home a little bit better,
obviously setting lights up on a timer and you know,
and having those kinds of things going, you know, switching
the lights on and off, your house to make it
look like someone is there. We'll assist in that, but
making sure you leave cars in the driveway and those
kinds of things. But in these particular cases, man, yeah,

we've got you know, you got people that are criminals
trying to take take advantage of guys being out of town.
And you know, it's it's not just stealing something from people,
but it's also the peace of mind that your sanctuary
has been broken into.

Frustrating for professional athletes. So I know of a professional
athlete at home was broken into and they ultimately wound
up moving just because they just didn't feel safe anymore.

course out for the game against the Colts. We already
knew that, but I listened to the show already knew
that anyway, but now it is official. On the Colts
side of things, looks like Josh Downs is probably going
to play. List is questionable, but he's probably gonna play.

Braden Smith the tackle will be out for them. Ryan
Kelly's questionable. We'll see how that goes. But as it
sits right now for the Broncos, the big one and
the only one really, Riley Boss is out with the
knee issue. Broncos averaged twenty three and a half points
a game on offense, Colts twenty second in the league.

at eight and five two and three. However, the they'll
get a chance to try to take that back Thursday
from yesterday on Thursday Night football in Los Angeles. Kansas
City leads the division. They have clinched the division. They

are twelve and one. They the Broncos, even if they
win the remainder games still would they would not take
the division from Kansas City. The same thing with the Chargers.
The Colts, on the other hand, are close. Houston's eight

and five, the Colts are six and seven. Theoretically they
could still win their division. The Colts are have a
negative thirty one point differential on the season. The Broncos
have a positive seventy one point differential on the season.
And it's fascinating to sort of watch, to sort of

see that this thing.

I mean, it's a big game and.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
You never want to overlook somebody, and teams can get
better as they go throughout the season. But you know,
Indy has not exactly been a Jugger, not this season.
The Broncos saw the Colts in the preseason beat I'm
thirty four to thirty. I think everybody remembers that sort
of Bonix Is coming out party a little bit in
the preseason. But the Colts started the season, you know,

two and three. They picked up wins over Tennessee and
a hobbled Miami team. Then they dropped three more to Minnesota, Houston,
and Buffalo before picking up wins against the the Jets
in New England. Basically, all their wins have come against
teams that aren't very good. They did manage a field
goal win over Pittsburgh back in September, but they really
don't have another quality win on their docket at all.

Everything that I'm looking at here is wins over sub
five hundred teams, and anybody they played it's above five hundred,
they tend to lose to. I'm not as i as
I've looked at this game, I'm not particularly afraid of
this team.

There are some things that I.

Think, there are a few things that scare me, you know,
if that run game gets going. But they are so
bad passing the ball, Anthony Richardson is is just so bad,
uh and throwing the ball, and that's it's you know,
his accuracy has been poor.

That's not to say that he won't improve eventually.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
That's not to say that that he won't eventually be
be the guy for them. But you know, he's a
twenty two year old quarterback who still get his feet wet.
And you know, he missed four games this season. Uh,
he's He's had all of one game in which he
passed above fifty passing and that was against the Jets,
(29:44):
where he was sixty six percent passing through for two
hundred and seventy two yards by far his best game.
He has three games where he's been exactly fifty percent
passing Green Bay, Chicago, and New England, and uh, you know,
then three games where he was horrifically below fifty percent passing.

The opener at Houston, he went nine of nineteen. I
did get two hundred and twelve yards but two touchdowns
at a pick, but it wasn't great. He had his
worst game was three interceptions against Green Bay. And you know,
if you look over the last three games, it's been
hit or miss You know, he had his best game
against the Jets. Then he threw eleven of twenty eight,
no touchdowns, no interceptions, not only one hundred and seventy
(30:26):
two yards thirty nine percent passing against Detroit. Then he
bounces back to fifty percent against New England, going twelve
twenty four, two touchdowns, two picks. So it's just been
it's been a roller coaster with him.

And you know, I think that.

If you were if you're the Broncos, I mean, you're
looking at a guy who's had two games where he
was above one hundred passer rating all year. I'm not
really counting the Pittsburgh game because he went through four
passes in that one, and you know what wasn't in
the whole game. But you know, this is a guy
who I think everybody remembers the story that he pulled
himself out because he was winded. You know, it's just
(31:04):
there's there's just a lot of uh, there's there's not
a lot to be afraid of here. If it's just
one of those guys, it's sort of the Tim Tebow
season without the magic of Tim Tebow. Although I suppose
over the last three weeks two of those wins have
come last second, you could say that there was where
Tebow esque in a way, this is just not uh,
(31:27):
this is just not a good, not a great Colts team.
I do like Shane steik And as a coach, I do
like what he's doing. I just think they're held back
by the fact that their quarterback is not able to
put it all all together right now.

And you know, we don't know when he will. He's
a young guy.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
We don't know when he gets to the point where
he does put it all together. So you know, we'll see,
we'll see how that goes. One of the other things
we'll keep it an eye on is the Chargers Bucks
game because the Chargers, of course over the Broncos next opponent.
It'll be a short week game in LA on a

Thursday night. The Chargers will have Justin Herbert in that
game against the Bucks, but Lad McConkey is questionable. It
was limited in practice all week, and so that's that's
one of those things we're keeping an eye on. On
the Chargers offensive side, you know, whether or not they
are going to be at full strength coming into the

Broncos game. The Broncos next two games, of course, at LA.

That's on Thursday night, immediately following the the home game here,
the Colts home game here that we've been talking about.
And then of course after they go on the road
to LA, they get a midi BI you know, a
week and a half sort of thing to go take

that's gonna be fascinating to see. You know, you get

the extra rest on that one, depending on how these
games go. These three games are this is a crucial stretch,
almost a playoff type atmosphere in terms of what you
need out of these games to keep pace in the
you know, in the wildcard race. You know, the Broncos

are not going to win the division, but you know,
the wildcard race here certainly has a lot of implications.
You look at the playoffs right now, the Broncos are
the final seed.

Really have two three teams Cincinnati, if they get all
kinds of breaks, they would have to win out and
have several teams lose out, including the Broncos. But as
it sits right now, you've got Cincinnati, Miami, and India

have two of those teams in the next three games. Oh,
by the way, the Chargers, a wildcard team, is the

other team, and then Kansas City the division winner.

Colts overall, this is still a fairly tough stretch and
Denver's got to find a way to.

of four, I think you're in. You win two of four,
your marginal one of four, you're probably not in. So
this is going to be basically a playoff atmosphere going forward,
and I think they're hoping the fans are going to
bring a playoff atmosphere on Sunday. I happen to know
that tickets, like, for instance, even here at ihearder sold out.

but tickets sold out. So that's one of those things.
You guys, get tickets, Bring the thunder, bring the noise,
because this is going to be a playoff atmosphere for

of NFL news going on. On a Friday, we had
an interesting Thursday night football game between the San Francisco

produced absolutely no touchdowns, myriad of field goals, and it

made an error on their app and had a bunch

props with huge odds that better's I mean nuked it.
Betters jumped all over it and hammered these things because
they were they were inadvertent and paying back way more
than they were supposed to. And of course none of
them hit because the entire game was field goals. The

entire game was field goals, and so these betters, you know,
they pulled the as soon as they discovered their mistake.
FanDuel pulled the bets off of the app, but they
allowed the betters who made them to hold their tickets
and then we had Obviously, the game occurred at the

final of twelve six LA on six field goals, and
it was I you have betters in an uproar saying
that that Fandels should have avoided the bets because there
was no winnable outcome, and I tend to disagree with that.
You made the wagers. You knew that they had messed

up when they put that out there. You made the
wagers to take advantage of the book. And it's just
very rare that I'm signed with the sports book. But
in this particular case, these betters who came out and
laid all this money on these these huge odds type
deals thinking that they were getting over on the book
and then didn't I mean to me, I think you're
stuck with it. A FanDuel, to their part, has not
done anything about it yet in terms of returning any money.

You're claiming they're going to return any money, which you.

Know, good for them.

Again, it's rare that I'm like, good for the sports book,
but you know you can't. You can't sit there and
bet a bunch of money on something that it looks

You turn around and think you get your money back
after after the bet rides, and you lose, they let
you ride, Like what did you expect? So that was
a that was an interesting topic on Twitter day. It

We got, obviously Broncos Colts coming up this weekend. UH
Broncos remain a four point home favorite in that one,

percent of bets, seventy one percent of.

of interesting news around the League. Today, Odell Beckham and

the Miami Dolphins agreed to part ways. Beckham had only

The Dolphins and veteran wide receiver Odell Buckham Junior come
to an agreement to part ways. Beckham had signed a
one year deal with the Dolphins back in May to
be part of the team's passing attack, but didn't results

in success, as the thirty two year old recorded only
nine catches on eighteen targets for fifty five yards over
nine games. It's as simple as what's the best for
both him and the team moving forward. We thought it
was a good time to go in that direction, Dolphins

I know his expectations when you communicate transparencly. I know

where he's at, and this is best for both parties. Beckham,
who had one catch for one yard on Sunday against
the New York Jets, what would be as a final

starting linebacker for the Niners most of the season in
a nine year NFL VET, refused to go into a
game against the Rams in the second half. With head
coach Kyle Shanahan asked him about it, Cambll said didn't
want to play today.

Campbell then left the sideline for the locker room and
did not return. NFL teams might put up with a lot,
but quitting in the middle of.

Francisco again, telling reporters that what Campbell did was not
something you can do and still be a part of

any contact with Campbell since Thursday night and confirmed Campbell

will not be with the team week sixteen. What comes
next for Devandra Campbell and the forty nine is unclear.
They have to work through the verbiage of how to
offload his contract. Probably will be suspended, could be suspended.
The Baltimore Ravens suspended wide receiver Deonte Johnson for a

the week before. If the Niners released Campbell, he'd be
free to sign with another team over the rest of
the season, and it doesn't seem San Francisco is in
the mood to help him latch on anywhere else. Shanahead
said the team is working through the semantics of what

a game. I think everybody's aware, you know. In what

Everyone remembers near the end of the twenty twenty one
season when Antonio Brown took off his pads in jersey
and danced through the end zone as he left the

Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the middle of a game. Campbell
joins that weird list. Campbell was essentially benched Thursday with
the return of Drake Greenlaw to the lineup. When Greenlaw
was bagged up in the second half, the team wanted
Campbell to go back in. That's when he refused and left.
Many of Campbell's teammates criticized his actions after the game.
Tight End George Kittle called it stupid and immature. No

surprise that he won't be back, though, I mean returning
to face his teammates after that as he would be interesting.
Prior to Thursday night, Campbell had a pretty good reputation.
He was a fourth round pick of the Atlanta foul

games in each of his nine NFL seasons. Last season,
he got a high honor as the Green Bay Packers

he's on the verge of probably being remembered most for

has the potential to be better. Randy Moss has announced
a cancer battle, says he's undergone surgery. Moss announced today

that he's been battling cancer and underwent successful surgery this week.

Instagram Live today to explain his recent health scare, saying
he'd been in the hospital for six days and was
released today. Quoting Moss, I'm a cancer survivor. Some trying times,

wore a T shirt and a beanie with Team Moss
written on it. A lavender cancer ribbon color represents cancer

as a whole in place of the O. More merchandise
was displayed next to him on the couch, which Moss
said was available for sale, with most of the proceeds
going to cancer research. Some of the merchandise says let's
Moss Cancer, a reference to the football slang term that
bears his name. To be mossed, Moss said the live,

I want to be able to be a help, you know,
to be a voice. ESPN announced last Friday that Moss
would be stepping away indefinitely from Sunday NFL Countdown, where
he's been an analyst since two thousand and six. The
network said that the leave of absence was for health reasons.
Moss filled in some of those details today, saying that

he had received a stint in his liver on Thanksgiving
due to a separate medical issue. While he was receiving
the stint, doctors discovered cancer cells and his bile duct
between the pancreas and the liver. Moss said he underwent
a six hour surgery in Charlotte this week to remove
the cells. The surgery, which is called a Whipple procedure,
there is a complex surgery that can have risks. Moss, however,
(11:30):
said it was a success at it, he would still
need to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. It's going to be
a tough road with the chemo and radiation, but like
I said, man, I'm good. Moss also thanked his doctor's
family and friends by name, and said he saw people's
prayers and well wishes on social media, including former teammates, saying,
I really felt that my family really felt that. Hall

of Famer first indicated something might be wrong on December first,
when he explained in another live that he would be
wearing sunglasses during that day his Sunday NFL countdown. Moss
simply said that he's battling something internal and did not
provide any additional details at the time. However, he did

that sentiment today, encouraging everyone, especially black men, to get

their checkups and keep up their blood work. You got
to be able to check your ego at the door man,
because the one thing that really stood out to me
when I was in the hospital was looking at my
boys faces, looking at my wife's beautiful face. I just
need to be able to get back to my family.

The homes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelsey, Joe Burrow, and
some mothers have been broken into. Burrow, of course, the
latest during the Cincinnati Bengals game on Monday night. Burrow
it's the third known NFL player to be targeted in
a string of high profile attacks. NFL security partnering with
the FBI to investigate Lee. Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed this week,

I've been in touch directly with the Union as well
as our security department. So yes, there are things that
all of us can do to take precautions and should do.
In your high profile position. You see someone of television
realize you're not home, does that open up a potential?
I think that's something we're all trying to address. It's
clear there's some organized fashion here, and we hope the
FBI authorities can handle. Burrow's Cincinnati area home was burgled
(13:36):
roughly two months after those of Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes
and tight end Travis Kelce in the NBA Milwaukee Bucks
for Bobby Portis in Minnesota. Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Junior
were also burgled. Model and influencer Olivia Ponton was at
Burrow's home during the break in. According to Hamilton County
Sheriff's Office incident report, the publicity surrounding Burrow's house, guest

and the burglary clearly frustrated the quarterback. I said, I
feel like my privacy has been violated more ways than one,
and way more is already out there than I would
want out there and that I would care to share.
We live a public life, and one of my least
favorite parts of that is the lack of privacy.

It's been difficult for me to deal with my entire career.

I still understands the life we choose doesn't make it
any easier to deal with. Burrow declined to detail the burglary,
though the sheriff's report said that someone broke in the

Burrow said he's usually pretty good at compartmentalizing his personal
life to play, but it's been difficult this week. NFL
sent a memo out to security directors as well as

the NFLPA last month, warning that the homes of professional
athletes across multiple sports leagues are being increasingly targeted. League
security recommends alarm systems, cameras, and motion sensor lights, noting
that burglary grips used extensive surveillance tactics, including attempt at
home deliveries or faux grounds maintenance, and jogging. Miami Dolphins

quarterback to a talking about Lowis, said Thursday that he
hired personal security this year. Everyone of his cars was
broken into previously, and quote, it's a little too close
for my comfort with my family being in the house.
So we got personal security to take care of that.

We got someone with my wife, got someone also at
the house surveying the house, just to let that be known.
They are armed. So I hope if you decide to
go to my house you think twice. I think that's
something that probably the NFL should look into and teams
should look into as a security service that when the
team is away, allows for drive bys and checking up

on the homes of professional athletes who have a lot
at stake in their places because you know, I mean people,
it's easier to target a group when you know specifically
they're not going to be home because they're obviously playing
on a Monday, Sunday or Thursday night game, and those
situations create opportunities for people who are going to do
those kinds of things. You know, there are things that

you can do to secure your home a little bit better,
obviously setting lights up on a timer and you know,
and having those kinds of things going, you know, switching
the lights on and off, your house to make it
look like someone is there. We'll assist in that, but
making sure you leave cars in the driveway and those
kinds of things. But in these particular cases, man, yeah,
(16:23):
we've got you know, you got people that are criminals
trying to take take advantage of guys being out of town.
And you know, it's it's not just stealing something from people,
but it's also the peace of mind that your sanctuary
has been broken into.

That can be it can be.

Frustrating for professional athletes. So I know of a professional
athlete at home was broken into and they ultimately wound
up moving just because they just didn't feel safe anymore.

Braden Smith the tackle will be out for them. Ryan
Kelly's questionable. We'll see how that goes. But as it
sits right now for the Broncos, the big one and
the only one really, Riley Boss is out with the
knee issue. Broncos averaged twenty three and a half points
a game on offense, Colts twenty second in the league.

this is where the biggest disparity is. Broncos defense allows
eighteen points per game, second in the league, whereas the

and Buffalo at a road loss to Minnesota. Anthony Richardson,
the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, has thrown for fifteen

seven touchdowns, nine interceptions. He split duty over the course

of the season, obviously when he was benched with Joe Flacco,
who has eleven hundred and sixty seven yards nine touchdowns
to five interceptions in a ninety one a half quarterback rating.
In terms of running the ball, Jonathan Taylor is the
recipient of most of their carries one hundred and eighty
six carries for eight hundred and forty yards. That's a
four point three average. He also has five touchdowns, no

fumbles lost. Anthony Richardson number two, it's seventy carries, three
hundred and eighty three yards. It's a five point five average,
four touchdowns, three fumbles lost. They do give Trey Sermon
a few carries here or there. He's got forty seven
on the season one hundred and thirty one yards, it's only
two point eight average, and Tyro Goodson used to get
carries at twenty seven rushes for one hundred and twenty

In terms of receiving yardage wise, the culture led by
Alec Pierce, Pierce says six hundred and forty five yards

main targets are Josh Downs and Michael Pittman Junior. Downs

yards and a touchdown. In terms of kicking, Matt Gay
is the kicker perfect for extra points twenty two to
twenty two. He's missed three field goals on the season
twenty two of twenty five. On the Broncos side of things,
everybody knows the quarterbacks bon Nix twenty one hundred forty
two yards, seventeen touchdowns, eight picks, and eighty seven point
nine quarterback rating. Gavonte Williams the leading rusher one hundred

and twenty four carries four hundred and forty six yards.
That's a three to six average, four touchdowns, two fumbles lost,
to Leo McLoughlin's second with eighty carries three hundred and
sixty seven yards, a four six average and a touchdown,
and Bo Nick's third with sixty seven carries three hundred
and four yards four or five average and four touchdowns.
Audrick estimey forty one carries one hundred and ninety one yards,

no touchdowns at a fumble lost, and recently Marvin Mimmes
has started to get carries out of the backfield. He
has ten carries for forty yards. It's a four average,
no touchdowns or fumbles lost. As far as receiving, well,
the bulk of the work goes to Courtland Sutton, as
we've all seen, sixty three receptions, eight hundred and forty
six yards and five touchdowns on the year. Second leading

receiver is a guy that had played but half the season,
Devon Vallet thirty three receptions, three hundred and seventy seven yards,
one touchdown. Marvid Mims the third leading receiver at nineteen
catches for two and sixty seven yards. He has two touchdowns.
Lil Jordan Humphrey has twenty nine receptions for the same
two hundred and sixty seven yards nine point two average,
one touchdown, went fumble lost. Gavante Williams thirty eight receptions,

the second most receptions of the team and only two
outre fifty nine yards, no receiving touchdowns. Troy Franklin twenty
one receptions, two unt at eighteen yards, two touchdowns. Adam Troutman,
who is the highest yards per catch guy for the Broncos,
has nine receptions for one hundred and fifty eight yards.
That's a seventeen point six average, one touchdown. Lucas Croll
thirteen catches twenty yards, no touchdowns, Nate Adkins seven catches
(24:37):
fifty yards, two touchdowns, Julio McLoughlin seventeen receptions forty six yards,
no touchdowns. Will Lutt's perfect from extra points thirty one
to thirty one, twenty six of twenty nine from field
goals one hundred and nine points on the season for him.

Broncos I think have a distinct advantage here.

It just does not feel like a Colts team that's
going to be, you know, hyper competitive here. The ground
game for them is going to be vital. And then
on the flip side of the Broncos are pretty good
against the run. On the flip side of that, you know,
they they give up all the things the Broncos have
been bad at. You know, it's just not both these

teams coming off by It's they have the exact same
number of turnovers on the season, But the Broncos have
the edge just about everywhere except for penalties. The Colts
are not a heavily penalized team, only seventy two penalties
on the season five hundred and seventeen yards, where the
Broncos have been penalized eighty three times for seven hundred
and forty six yards on the offensive side of the ball.

That's that's quite a bit.

In terms of defense, the Denver defense has a significant advantage,
allowing only two hundred thirty four points on the season
for the Colts two hundred ninety eight. I already mentioned
their number one in sacks the yard it is per
game numbers. The Broncos have won three straight the home
for Atlanta thirty eight six, at Las Vegas twenty nine nineteen,

and home against Cleveland which everyone saw forty one thirty two.
The Colts have won two of their last five, but
they've been barely they want. They went at the Jets
on November seventeenth by a point twenty eight twenty seven,
then December first, their last game they played, they won
at New England twenty five to twenty four, both those
wins by a point, and then in between there they've
lost games twenty four to six to Detroit, thirty twenty
(26:25):
to Buffalo, when we went thirteen to Minnesota, India is
not really they've beaten up on the bad teams, or
or at least beaten the bad teams, but they've not
particularly been highly competitive, despite the fact that their six
and seven record would suggest that that they've been a
little bit more competitive than they have been. In terms
of the standings. Right now, the Broncos are third in
(26:47):
the division by way of tiebreaker to Los Angeles both
at eight and five two and three. However, the they'll
get a chance to try to take that back Thursday
from yesterday on Thursday Night football in Los Angeles. Kansas
City leads the division. They have clinched the division. They
(27:07):
are twelve and one. They the Broncos, even if they
win the remainder games still would they would not take
the division from Kansas City. The same thing with the Chargers.
The Colts, on the other hand, are close. Houston's eight
(27:31):
and five, the Colts are six and seven. Theoretically they
could still win their division. The Colts are have a
negative thirty one point differential on the season. The Broncos
have a positive seventy one point differential on the season.
And it's fascinating to sort of watch, to sort of
(27:53):
see that this thing.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
I mean, it's a big game and.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
You never want to overlook somebody, and teams can get
better as they go throughout the season. But you know,
Indy has not exactly been a Jugger, not this season.
The Broncos saw the Colts in the preseason beat I'm
thirty four to thirty. I think everybody remembers that sort
of Bonix Is coming out party a little bit in
the preseason. But the Colts started the season, you know,
(28:20):
two and three. They picked up wins over Tennessee and
a hobbled Miami team. Then they dropped three more to Minnesota, Houston,
and Buffalo before picking up wins against the the Jets
in New England. Basically, all their wins have come against
teams that aren't very good. They did manage a field
goal win over Pittsburgh back in September, but they really
don't have another quality win on their docket at all.
(28:41):
Everything that I'm looking at here is wins over sub
five hundred teams, and anybody they played it's above five hundred,
they tend to lose to. I'm not as i as
I've looked at this game, I'm not particularly afraid of
this team.

There are some things that I.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Think, there are a few things that scare me, you know,
if that run game gets going. But they are so
bad passing the ball, Anthony Richardson is is just so bad,
uh and throwing the ball, and that's it's you know,
his accuracy has been poor.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
That's not to say that he won't improve eventually.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
That's not to say that that he won't eventually be
be the guy for them. But you know, he's a
twenty two year old quarterback who still get his feet wet.
And you know, he missed four games this season. Uh,
he's He's had all of one game in which he
passed above fifty passing and that was against the Jets,
(29:44):
where he was sixty six percent passing through for two
hundred and seventy two yards by far his best game.
He has three games where he's been exactly fifty percent
passing Green Bay, Chicago, and New England, and uh, you know,
then three games where he was horrifically below fifty percent passing.
(30:04):
The opener at Houston, he went nine of nineteen. I
did get two hundred and twelve yards but two touchdowns
at a pick, but it wasn't great. He had his
worst game was three interceptions against Green Bay. And you know,
if you look over the last three games, it's been
hit or miss You know, he had his best game
against the Jets. Then he threw eleven of twenty eight,
no touchdowns, no interceptions, not only one hundred and seventy
(30:26):
two yards thirty nine percent passing against Detroit. Then he
bounces back to fifty percent against New England, going twelve
twenty four, two touchdowns, two picks. So it's just been
it's been a roller coaster with him.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
And you know, I think that.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
If you were if you're the Broncos, I mean, you're
looking at a guy who's had two games where he
was above one hundred passer rating all year. I'm not
really counting the Pittsburgh game because he went through four
passes in that one, and you know what wasn't in
the whole game. But you know, this is a guy
who I think everybody remembers the story that he pulled
himself out because he was winded. You know, it's just
(31:04):
there's there's just a lot of uh, there's there's not
a lot to be afraid of here. If it's just
one of those guys, it's sort of the Tim Tebow
season without the magic of Tim Tebow. Although I suppose
over the last three weeks two of those wins have
come last second, you could say that there was where
Tebow esque in a way, this is just not uh,
(31:27):
this is just not a good, not a great Colts team.
I do like Shane steik And as a coach, I do
like what he's doing. I just think they're held back
by the fact that their quarterback is not able to
put it all all together right now.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
And you know, we don't know when he will. He's
a young guy.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
We don't know when he gets to the point where
he does put it all together. So you know, we'll see,
we'll see how that goes. One of the other things
we'll keep it an eye on is the Chargers Bucks
game because the Chargers, of course over the Broncos next opponent.
It'll be a short week game in LA on a
(32:05):
Thursday night. The Chargers will have Justin Herbert in that
game against the Bucks, but Lad McConkey is questionable. It
was limited in practice all week, and so that's that's
one of those things we're keeping an eye on. On
the Chargers offensive side, you know, whether or not they
are going to be at full strength coming into the
(32:27):
Broncos game. The Broncos next two games, of course, at LA.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
That's the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
That's on Thursday night, immediately following the the home game here,
the Colts home game here that we've been talking about.
And then of course after they go on the road
to LA, they get a midi BI you know, a
week and a half sort of thing to go take
on Cincinnati, and you know, that's that's going to be interesting,
that's gonna be fascinating to see. You know, you get
(32:54):
the extra rest on that one, depending on how these
games go. These three games are this is a crucial stretch,
almost a playoff type atmosphere in terms of what you
need out of these games to keep pace in the
you know, in the wildcard race. You know, the Broncos
(33:16):
are not going to win the division, but you know,
the wildcard race here certainly has a lot of implications.
You look at the playoffs right now, the Broncos are
the final seed.

Right now, you.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Really have two three teams Cincinnati, if they get all
kinds of breaks, they would have to win out and
have several teams lose out, including the Broncos. But as
it sits right now, you've got Cincinnati, Miami, and India
that are still theoretically in this thing, and the Broncos
have two of those teams in the next three games. Oh,
by the way, the Chargers, a wildcard team, is the
(33:50):
other team, and then Kansas City the division winner.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
So this is.

Despite my saying that I don't I'm not buying the
Colts overall, this is still a fairly tough stretch and
Denver's got to find a way to.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
You know, they have to find a way to win.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Out on this thing. I mean, you know, you three
of four, I think you're in. You win two of four,
your marginal one of four, you're probably not in. So
this is going to be basically a playoff atmosphere going forward,
and I think they're hoping the fans are going to
bring a playoff atmosphere on Sunday. I happen to know
that tickets, like, for instance, even here at ihearder sold out.
We got a couple of giveaways, but the aeromorphy giveaways,

but tickets sold out. So that's one of those things.
You guys, get tickets, Bring the thunder, bring the noise,
because this is going to be a playoff atmosphere for
the Denver Broncos, and it starts with this Colts game,
they win this thing, and all of a sudden, it
really starts to get into focus. You lose this one,
and you create a situation where there's sort of a
(34:48):
muddled group of teams there that could that could potentially
come in. And oh, by the way, now you're missing
tie breakers against teams. You know, it was Nebroncos country
