Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Charleston's Morning News with Kelly and Place. Now
the top three things you should know.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Vice President Kamala Harris is expended to announce an economic
proposal to help small businesses today. Harris will be on
the campaign trail in New Hampshire or show outline proposed
tax deductions for small business startups. Her plan would increase
the deduction from five thousand to fifty thousand dollars. Harris
is also expected to put forward a plan to cut
(00:27):
the red tape small business owners have to deal with
in their startups. Robert F. Kennedy Junior Junior will remain
on the presidential ballot in Michigan. Kennedy suspended his campaign
earlier this month and has been trying to get his
name off of ballots in swing states in an effort
to support Donald Trump. On Tuesday, judge ruled Kennedy must
(00:49):
stay on the ballot, setting the state law about when
candidates can withdraw their names. Judges in Wisconsin and North
Carolina also ruled Kennedy must stay on the ballot. He
was successful only removed from ballots in Arizona, Florida, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania,
and in Texas, a surprisingly quiet hurricane season continues. A
(01:11):
name storm has not formed in the Atlantic basin since
Ernesto on August twelfth. Researchers at Colorado State Universities say
the last time that the Atlantic had no named storms
form between August thirteenth and September third, and was back
in nineteen sixty eight. Although there are currently no named storms,
the National Hurricane Center is tracking three tropical depressions for
(01:34):
possible development. There have been five named storms so far
this year.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
You know, I don't like talking about it, to be honest.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
I want to just like, you know, keep the calm,
let's keep the peace, let's keep it chill.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Well, I find it interesting because of you know, global warming,
whatever you want to call it now, climate change and
all of that. They were saying, it's you know, warning
that this was going to be an extraordinarily historic busy
hurricane season and all of that, and it has not
come to fruition so far. So keep your fingers crossed.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
And I pray they remain wrong.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
I mean, we already know how wrong they are about
the whole you know, Green New Deal and this agenda
of pushing this climate crisis so aside from politicking about
the weather. Isn't it ridiculous? We have to politic even
the weather. There isn't even part of our life that
isn't being touched by politics. I mean, think about it.
That's unbelievable. And you know you mentioned Kamala Harris out here. Oh,
(02:38):
here's a big enown an economic proposal to help small
business startups. How about the ones that you that are
now shuttered no thanks to your policies, you know, through
COVID and everything else. We'll just we'll start fresh. We'll
start new. That's our whole campaign slogan, isn't it. You know,
we're not looking back, We're moving forward after you railroaded,
(03:01):
you know, the gutted are small businesses through COVID shuddering
and otherwise.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Well, she's pretending she had nothing to do with the
last four years, even though she was out there touting
all of the policies and saying how it worked and
Bidenomics worked, and.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Of course she won't be successful at that trying.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
To take credit for you know, as vice president, for
being part of the administration. Now that she's running for president. Oh,
she wants to distance herself from all of that.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
I don't know how that's even possible. I mean, she's
called out left, right center, all over the place. She's
being called out for, you know, having a hand in Bidenomics, now,
kamalinnomics this point, since Biden's just out to pastor even
though oh gosh, I played some of the soundbites from
him yesterday where he joined the campaign trail. You probably
(03:52):
missed it, but I mean he was literally calling her,
you know, a woman with the morals of a saint.
I'm serious, is seriously, it was so hard to take.
I mean we all reacted to it with calls and
comments and in how she had the backbone of steel.
These are the things Joe Biden was saying about Kamala Harris.
(04:14):
How many ways can you tell people lies?
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Like and they.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Don't you know, they're just being called out, And I
mean by people who are walking away in droves from
this this this ticket, this party. I mean, you know,
you sign the so called Inflation Reduction Act, anyone feel
less inflated?
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Well, you say they're walking away in droves, but you
know they're trying to shove these poles down the throats
of Americans, you know, saying that Kamala is running away
with the election, now what five points ahead in national polling,
but they keep changing the way that they pull.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Of course, they do mounching around with the yes, yeah,
there's a.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Messaging Well, they'll switch from well, and the national polls
mean nothing, right, so because that ignores the electoral college.
So nationally, that's just a poll on the popular vote.
The popular vote, of course does not elect the president.
But they'll switch back and forth from likely voters to
you know, whatever it may be. But it's not the
(05:22):
same set of people that they keep polling when they're
showing these increases in her popularity.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Yeah, we could talk about these polls all day long.
At the end of the day, what matters, we know
is November. And we've been down this road before. I know,
I've been sitting in this seat broadcasting live the night
of the elections when the world was shook, especially with
all the snowflakes melting down, that she was leading in
the polls and Donald Trump won over Queen Clinton. So
(05:50):
I mean, yeah, I you know, but RFK Junior jumping
into the race made a big difference. The mainstream media,
the propaganda press as I called that are totally in
the commonly camp. They absolutely want to ignore our FK Junior.
You mentioned him, You know that he's going to remain
on the presidential ballot in Michigan. He tried to jump
(06:11):
off there, but he was successful in other swing states
that are very important where he was removed off the
ballot to help Trump. Now that he's join the Trump team,
jumping on the Trump train, I mean, Arizona, Florida, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas,
all big deals. You mentioned the electoral college, so.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah, they're big deals. But in Michigan, Wisconsin, in North
Carolina they ruled that he must stay on the ballot.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Right well, still if you add up the electoral votes.
And then also we were talking with Rory O'Neill before
the top of the hour there. I mean, we can
dig into it here. But some of those races, of
the ones that he's off the ballot also are going
to be overtaking the Senate, which is a big deal
to be looking at. I know, we always want to
focus on the presidency and the big shiny object, but
(07:02):
you know, the power of the purse remains in the
House and the Senate, and hopefully we're holding onto the
House but the Senate is key for a Republican win
no matter who's in the White House. So we've seen
it before where there you know, there could be a
Republican controlled Senate and House. That's what protects us from
(07:24):
a Kamala in the White House versus imagine if Trump
were in the White House with a We've had it before,
a Republican. This is what I was saying about having
it before. We've had a Republican led House and Senate
and Trump in the White House. Let's hope, though, things
will turn out a little differently.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Well, let's hope the Republicans, if they are successful and win,
actually do something.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
That's what I mean, because last time around they really
did hamstring Trump.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yeah, And he actually sat down and admitted that. And
I forget which podcast or he was sitting down with,
but he said, Man, I was listening to people last
time around that I absolutely won't be listening to this
time around, Rhinos or otherwise. And I don't know if
you've seen this coming across any of you know, you're
digging around your social or whatever of people talking about
another party because they're tired of the quote unquote una party.
(08:19):
Rhinos you know, leaning with Democrats, and now that RFK
Junior is bringing in independent voters and all of that
to the Trump campaign. So I just I find it
interesting many people have been attempting to distance themselves from
the Republican Party and now with RFK Junior and Elon
and you know, I'm hearing more and more of that
(08:43):
talk in my social and here on Aaron Online. Don't
forget the talkback feature on the iHeart Apposite round radio microphone.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
You can hit it. You got about thirty seconds to
let us know before you go.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
This is Charleston's Morning News with Kelly and play.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
We were talking about pole schmoles when it comes to politics.
Depends on who they're asking, how many, how they're asking
the questions.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Well, I'll tell you that I was out on a
boat with friends while I was gone.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
That sounds nice.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
I'm Lake Saint Clair outside of Detroit, and on a Saturday,
they line up all these boats, big boats like forty footers,
all tied off and lined up, and then another set
of them facing those boats, all tied off, and it
creates like kind of a boulevard where everybody goes down
(09:38):
and parties in between them.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
That's fun.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah. And they had a DJ, DJ mister Pickles and
a dance floor on the boat.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
I'm serious, I'm getting jealous.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yeah. And Trump flags were flying here, We're flying everywhere,
and mister Pickles was laying down the jam and everybody
was out having a good time. And from here to Michigan,
and then we went from Detroit almost all the way up.
You know, and if you're from Michigan, you always use
your hand, you know, the mitten to point where you're
(10:12):
from in Michigan on your hand, because that's the shape
of Michigan as a mitton. And so we went from
you know, Detroit, which is at the bottom almost to
the mitton, all the way almost to the top of
the Lower Peninsula and then back down again. And of
course all the way back down to South Carolina. And
I did not see one, not one Kamala Walls sign.
(10:38):
And I saw Trump yard signs, Trump flags still f
Kamala flags, F Biden flags, and tons of Trump you know,
supporters and yard signs and flags and everything else. Trump Trump, Trump,
Trump Trump from here to Michigan, all throughout Michigan and
(10:58):
all the way back down.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
The boat parades every weekend in South Carolina on lakes
and waterways, including just almost what three three plus weeks ago,
our own boat parade here of over one thousand boats,
and I mean they were packed. I mean I was
out there broadcasting and I mean four or five people
per boat, and all I can, you know, keep saying
to everybody is keep flying your Trump flags?
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Was Pickles?
Speaker 5 (11:21):
There?
Speaker 2 (11:22):
No?
Speaker 4 (11:22):
But man, I, like I said, I'm a little jealous.
There was no DJ mister Pickles. Now, I got to
look this up. But here's the thing with the poles
on the heels of you.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Just look at all.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
The things on social media that you're inundated with. And
you had Mark Zuckerberg what a week or so ago?
Its to now where he admitted, Oh, it's my mistake that,
you know, my social media companies suppressed the whole big
Hunter Biden bombshell laptop drama at the Beheatz to the
White House leaning on them back in twenty twenty. Well,
now in Amazon Alexa. Have you seen the Amazon Alexa
(11:56):
the latest?
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Yes, So here's a.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
Gal asking why should I vote for Kamala for president? First,
she says, why should I vote for Trump? And Alexi says, oh,
I can't take a side on this. And then she
she says, why should I vote for Kamala? You know,
she goes off, Alexa goes off on a whole campaign
spiel on why you should vote for Kambala. Well, I
wanted to put out there because apparently, you know, you've
(12:19):
got Amazon Alexa in the whole glitch. They're apologizing and
they're saying the error I'm doing air quotes here has
been patched. It was an era, it was quickly fixed.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Yeah, it was a glitch.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
Yeah, bs, Amazon, really who believes this? I mean, the
Trump campaign's out here saying listen, it's it's more big
tech election interference. You know, come on, let's call a
spade a spade at this point. I mean, so it's
listed several reasons why you should not you may not
want to vote for Donald Trump, depending on how you
(12:52):
asked it.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
So, I mean, yeah, I had an Annie Trump bias.
And then they're calling that a glitch.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Yeah, I mean, any any Google search and everything else.
I mean, you it's sometimes I don't think I can
even possibly believe it until you do it yourself, like
you Google Trump, especially at post assassination attempt and all
the Kamala stuff came up. Remember when that was like
what a week or two. Well, well we're going on
a month now. Yeah, where you put in Trump assassination
(13:20):
attempt to get the very latest on that investigation, and
instead it brought up Kamala Harris headlines.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Well, I mean we know because we're searching for stories
and further details on the stories we have and all
of that. So we see the bias constantly, and anybody
who uses those search engines to uh to look up
anything knows that it's biased.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Well, just sharing it out there this morning that Amazon
Alexa the whole they're saying that, you know, they apologize
and then the glitch is fixed.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Okay, decision Kelly emblaz Our resign for the main event.
This is Charleston's Morning News on ninety four to three WS.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Seed on this date. In nineteen fifty seven, following the
US Supreme Court decision in the Brown versus Board of
Education case, which declared all laws establishing segregated schools to
be unconstitutional and called for the desegregation of all schools
throughout the nation, the governor of Arkansas, Orville Faubas, called
out the National Guard to prevent nine black students from
(14:26):
entering Little Rock Central High School. The school was ultimately
desegregated after President Dwight Eisenhower issued in an executive order
which federalized the Arkansas National Guard and ordered them to
support the integration.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Republican.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
I was just going to say, and you know what
Dwight Eisenhower was, He was a Republican. This is the
history that they.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Want to ignore exactly.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
And what was Orville faubas a Democrat?
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Your news, traffic, weather and information station. This is Charleston's
Morning News on ninety four to three WUSC. Now back
to Kelly and Blaze.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
From Charlkton, South Carolina. I just wanted us to make
people realize that China is that war with us, and
they've already killed two hundred thousand Americans without firing one shot.
Think about that, all the fedanol that they brought into
these eleven or twelve million people they brought through the border.
They're killing all young people without firing one shot.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Talkback feature on the iHeart app Welcome in Wednesday edition
of the program. We were just talking right before the
top of the hour with Aaron Real in our election
coverage with regards to miss or disinformation and sowing interference
in our elections online by being bamboozled by bots.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Yeah, I mean not only bots, the Chinese Communist Party,
and let's not forget about Iran, and let's not forget
about Russia, and Israel's probably you know, playing some games too,
and we do in all of their elections. So you know,
we just have to be cognizant that what we're reading
sometimes is not the truth.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Well, and of course we're continuing your election to you know,
keep it in focus here. As a Trump you've got
to town hall sit down in Pennsylvania on Fox. I
think he's going to get a big bump from that,
No doubt that's going to be happening tonight, one week
from today. We all need to be reminded. Many people
calling in over the last week or so saying Kablo
(16:31):
is not going to debate. There's going to be something
that comes of this, you know, suggesting Shenanigan, someone comes
down with COVID or who knows what, that she will
not make it to the debate.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
I sure do hope.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
So a lot of people are intimating that, you know,
her debate with Trump will be just as bad as
you know Biden in his bumbling mess that put him
out to pasture.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Well, they're gonna watch. They're going to load her up
with you know, Zinger after zinger after zinger, and she's
not going to be explaining policy or speaking with any
kind of intricacy on her policies because she can't do that.
She's you know, she's just not capable. So they're going
to give her a bunch of zingers like the you know,
(17:14):
I know your type because I'm a prosecutor and things
like that.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
I think she's also going to play the race engender card,
no doubt, and in play a victim as if Trump
is attacking her on those you know, on those check marks.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Well, the big question is which accent is she going
to use? Oh much during the debate, because she seems
to change her accent according to the audience that she's
speaking to.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Just like oh Hillary Clinton did with her hot sauce
and her purse. I mean, Democrat, there's no shame in
their game, No.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
There's not.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
