Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ck on Sports. It is Fox Sports Radio. Yep, It's
that time of year. Week zero last week for college football.
This is officially Week one, which means our Fresno State
Bulldogs are in action, going up against the national champion,
the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines in the Big House.

(00:20):
Dave Betonline dot Ag joining me right now.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
How are you doing, sir, I'm.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Doing great man. Football's here, so you know that's go time.
Is the most important couple weeks of the year, you know,
kick off the NFL and college football. They make you know,
we got to get all the guys disappeared after the
Super Bowl. They're all coming back. So next two weeks
are the most important weeks of the year. Like I said, you.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Know, it really is a very exciting time for a
lot of people that love college football, NFL action.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
And for the books.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
More than ever, this is that time of year where
you see people go, you know what, I gotta make
sure I'm right.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I gotta get my bets in.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Oh absolutely, I mean you got dollar sidly college football.
I mean there's dozens upon dozens of games and you
had all the futures. Who's gonna win the conferences. Who's
gonna win the national championship, be over under win, the
win totals, the Heisman Trophy, odds, et cetera, et cetera.
So everybody's getting down right now, they're making their preseason
picks and let's see how they go.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Well, you know, we're gonna talk a lot about that.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
But the one thing that we definitely have to discuss
Fresno State Michigan the Big House go dogs, as we
say around these parts.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Can they pull off the upset?

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Or do you say, you know what minus twenty one
and a half take the points? I mean, we were
looking at what happened last week in Dublin, Ireland ten
point underdog going up against the Florida State team that
could have arguably been in contention for the national championship
last year but didn't make it into the playoffs they lost.

(01:53):
Is there a chance, especially in this nil era, the
transfer portal era, that Fresno State goes into the Big
House and can pull off the upset?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
There's always a chance. You guys have a you know
a lot of returning down on offense. Of course, Michigan,
you know, they wanted they won it. They did their
there they lost a lot on on on their team
and the quarterback. Their defense is great. I mean, that's
that's the tough part, is gonna you're a good offense
against their great defense. There's always a chance. But I
mean it's a twenty twenty and a half point spread.

(02:25):
You know, Michigan is favored by twenty and a half.
It actually opened at twenty one. There are actually some
sharp action on Presno at plus twenty one. You know,
I'd be shocked if there's an upset here. But but
you guys can hang. You can hang for a bid.
I wouldn't be surprised to be covered, probably shocked if
you went out right.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Well, you know what we're gonna go in there. We
got that blue collar mentality. We play with a chip
on our shoulder. We're no stranger to pulling off upsets.
We played some big teams very well. I understand that
it was Purdue last year, but yes, we've been in
the Big Ten country. We beat Purdue, we beat Wisconsin. Maybe,
just maybe we pull off the upset and shock the world.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Who knows.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
But there's some other games this weekend. I definitely want
to talk to you about one game that really is
right there on the marquee Clemson Georgia.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Talk about that and what is some action on there?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Yeah, number four teams Clemson at the top ranked Georgia
Georgia's top rank as usual. Currently Georgia's thirteen and a
half point favorite. That's actually opened at twelve and a half.
The dogs are getting bed. About sixty percent of the
action is on Georgia sharp. Nothing on the spread. There
are some sharp on over forty seven are better, you know,

(03:41):
to recording returning quarterbacks, a lot of talent returning, especially
on Georgia side of the ball. That they had seven
returneys on offense, including Carson Beck who is the heighs
been favorite. But you know Clemson returns to Kate Clutton
that's under center for the Tigers as well. So you know,
Clemson got a down year year. You know, there's still
won nine games, I believe, but that that's considered a

(04:04):
failure out there, Clish, So you know, but you know
in this day and age that with a nil nil
and transferport and all that, who knows what's gonna happen.
But it's gonna be a tough past this weekend. That's
why they're getting thirteen and a half now, and you.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Know, here's the thing. That's why I wanted to bring up.
We saw what happened in Dublin, Ireland. Georgia Tech wasn't
a good football team last year. Florida State had one
of the best defenses in the country. When you watch
that game, you could see that Georgia Tech drastically improved.
But a lot of that was thanks to transfers, thanks

(04:39):
to picking up people that were basically second stringers and
third stringers at other major programs. How much of an
impact is that going to have this week when you
see some teams that you say, hold on a second. Now,
Clemson may be underdogs here, but they did pick up
some key players who who should have started at other schools.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
But now they're going to get good time to shine.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Do the oddsmakers look at that and go, maybe that
Georgia Tech game should have tiped us off to something.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yeah, I mean, it's another aspect, right, It's definitely another
aspect you got to you got to pay attention to
the transfer portal and and who's who's going to be
starting where they came from, and you know, it's definitely
something else to look at. But it's kind of an
educated crap shoot, right. It's kind of like when when
the underclassmen when it starts, starts for the first time.
And Okay, this guy was recruited high out of high school.

(05:29):
He was a you know, top hundred recruit or whatever,
and and uh, he's been on the bench. He red
shirted and set on the bench another year. Now it's
the time to start at all pensive tackle or whatever
or running back. So he had to still have that
kind of wait and see unless they're an all all
out shipper and they produced at their former school and
now they're just going chasing the bag at some other

(05:51):
school because.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
You have a lot of that guessing on around, right.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
So but they're just you know, they they're going bouncing around.
They're all American or border all borderline all America at
one school. Then I can get more money at another
school with this nil stuff. So you know, those guys
are on the wet radar a little bit more for us.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Let's talk about USC LSU another big time matchup. USC
playing in a new conference this year, but of course
Lincoln Riley, he's trying to get it back on track,
especially after losing Caleb Williams going up against a very
good LSU team. What are your thoughts about that game?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Yeah? Interesting game here in Vegas too, so that a
little wrinkle, interesting wrinkle to it. Right, the boy, oh boy,
the LSU fans invading Vegas, we can watch out o Timas.
Yeah right, no, I mean, I mean shoot, I mean
the last two Heisman Trophy winners are now in the NFL,
and the number one and two picks they were the

(06:46):
quarterbacks of these teams last year. So that's had the
big storyline. However, replacement's going to play, you know, had
Jayden Daniels gone from LSU and then Caleb Williams gone
from USC. The line it opened LSU minus six is
four and at uh the betters are on USC seventy
one percent of the early cash and fifty six percent
of the early bets are on the Trojans. We did

(07:08):
take some sharp action on the Trojans as well at
plus six and a half. You know, LSU even though
we lost their signal caller to do a six guys
returning on offense. So it's gonna be interesting, man. But
you know, two new quarterbacks, so that makes that that
game little extra interesting.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
If I asked, may As you can tell, we're excited.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
We're fired up Week one college football, getting ready to
go into some NFL action. We're talking with Dave from
Betonline dot ag. We're gonna come back. We're gonna talk
about who he believes is favored to win the Super
Bowl this year. We're also going to talk about Kaylen
de Boor and Alabama football a little bit. This for
many is the most wonderful time of the year. K

(07:47):
on Sports.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
We're back k on Sports. It is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
We're talking with Dave from Bettonline dot ag before we
wrap this up, because I want to talk to you
about two more things. I want to talk to you
about Alabama, Kaylen Debor going from Washington to Alabama, former
Fresno State head coach. And I also want to talk
to you about last year's early story of the Year Colorado.
When you look at the books and you see sharp
money come in this weekend, where is the biggest sharp

(08:13):
money coming in on what game?

Speaker 3 (08:16):
All right, let me check here real quick. Let's see
you were in seton North Carolina minus a point, Coastal
Carolina plus three and a half, Coastal Carolina under fifty
five and a half, Miami, Ohio under forty one, Old
Dominion under fifty five, James Madison minus seven and a half.
That's probably some of his most sharp stuff right right.

(08:36):
The game doesn't didn't happen off. But you know there's
sharp stuff all over the place, especially in college football.
I mean it's that and college basketball gets the most
sharp action without a doubt.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Okay, Colorado, how are they looking this year? Last year,
I believe the over under was three and a half
maybe four. I know Dion was doing his best to
get as many players into Colorado as possible. Even heard
rumors of him possibly teaming up with the p IF
out of Saudi Arabia to get some nil money that
didn't go through. Tell me a little bit about Colorado

(09:07):
and what are some of the early projections as far
as wins and losses.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Yeah, over underwin win losses. Five and a half year
it was the Yeah, this year's five and a half.
Last year it was over under three and a.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Half, three and a half, that's what it was. Three
and a half.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Those were covered. They won four, so they covered and
they barely covered. I mean they won the first three
games of the season. As you remember h and oh
my god, they only need a they only need one
more game to cover every I thought it a sure
lock and they finally won that game. I believe it
was what was that fourth win they got with it
Arizona State per half.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Yeah, I think that was the game.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
They barely got it after winning their first three games. So,
I mean they expected to be a little bit better.
Like I said, over under five and a half. This year,
schedules still tough. I think it's a little easier than
last year. Though, you know, they have talent on it.
They still have talent on the on the skill positions.
That's I could be a problem. They's got. They got
Dean sunshador at under Understenter. I mean, he could be

(10:04):
the top pick in the NFL Trap next year. He's
twenty eight to one to win the Heisman. He had
Travis Hunters, two way player, guys, absolutely stud maybe the
best cornerback in college but also plays receiver. He's thirty
three to one to win the Heisman. They have their
their wide receiving core between Hunter uh Jimmy Horn, and
then and they got a good transfer will chef from Vanderbilt,

(10:25):
so they have great skill position talent, just like last year.
But you know, their offensive line was obviously got awful.
Let it can't be. It has to improve. They have
some guys coming in from the portal and some good
recruits coming in. But you know the recruits, they they're
gonna need some time. Yeah, their their defense has to
prove improve. So it could be a struggle getting that

(10:46):
five and a half. But you know that that that's
the right number and uh, you know the two inner
to one too to win it all. So don't count
on anything there. But the people are still betting them.
They're not just spend them. Like this time last year,
we had so much action on College Rado and it
was crazy. They were just such a hot story. And
there's still a hot story, but nothing like last year.

(11:07):
But there's still those still getting bet and every you know,
the most popular bet season win total this year, the
one that's Kate taking the most action is Colorado. People
were betting the under. The Yeah, people betting the under
this year though. That's the most popular right side brandy
of season win totals. So people are betting under. Believe
it or not, you know why.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
I believe it's the most popular over under bet this
year because it was the most popular last year. We
went over three and a half last year. There's no
way they're going six wins this year.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yeah right, you know, it's kind of it was kind
of like, you know, a lot of recency bias there, right.
I mean, even though they cast their over tickets last year,
the people bet that over knew it was to a
big one sweat and then that that's in their minds, Like, okay,
you know, I was a little bit of pools gold

(11:59):
early on with Colorad last year. But I was just
like some of the experts were saying, as full gold,
I wake up and but well, we'll see. You know,
it's gonna be interesting to definitely be a fun story
to follow again this year.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
One more thing I want to talk to you about.
Former Frisno state coach Kaylin de Boor took Washington to
high heights. Now he took over for Nick Saban. Big
shoes to feel. Actually, let's be real, no one can
ever fill the shoes of Nick Saban. What does Alabama
look like as far as the over unders when it
comes to wins and their chances of winning the SEC

(12:30):
which obviously is difficult because we know, the number one
ranked team in the country is Georgia. Break it down,
because that schedule is incredible. They play Texas this year
and it's a conference game.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Yeah, I mean that that conference now is just crazy, right.
You get Texas there, you got Oklahoma there. I mean
it's just looking at Conference SISE the other day and
it's like all these schools are just everywhere now, like
it's it's hard to keep up on. But uh but Batman,
you know a great hire. You know, like you said,
it's kids next to impossible to still Nick saban Shoes,

(13:02):
he's probably the goat of college football coaches, at least
in our lifetime. You know, I didn't get to see
Bear Bryant really or any of those old school coaches,
but in our lifetimes, out of doubt, the best coach
out there. They're five to one to win the SBC,
followed by Georgia, I mean behind George is the favorite
of plus one sixty five, and then aforementioned Texas Longhorns

(13:24):
at four to one.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Yeah, so so let me see who their wins are
here over under nine and a half, nine.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
And a half, yeah, yeah, nine and.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
A half and to win it all. I think they're
eight to one. I believe. Yeah, so let me let me.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Double check on that's so crazy.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
I mean, you think about that for a second and
you're like nine wins to win it all. Their odds
to win it all are really good. But the problem
is you have to look at the odds to win
it all from other SEC teams.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
And I believe that they're the third.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Team on that list of the pecking order of SEC
teams to possibly win the national championship.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
They had the third this shortest thought win it all,
but out of the four teams in front of them
to the teams are SEC teams. I mean that's just
the you know, you gotta gotta not only get to
that SEC championship. Well yeah again, he spent expanded playoffs
again this year. I still got to remember that that

(14:31):
they'll they'll, they'll should make the playoffs and anything can
happen after that. But that being said, getting that first,
uh the buye is huge being a top four seed,
so so we'll see. I mean, they got the talent
there right there, they always had the talent and then
great coaching higher. But that being said that the SEC
is a juggernaut and uh yeah, well, we'll see, but

(14:54):
they'll they'll be there and I like that nine and
a half.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
All right, let's go ahead and throw you on the
hot seat really quick. Looking at the numbers. Who's gonna
win the Heisman Trophy this year?

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Who's gonna win the Heisman Trophy this year? Man? This
this is such a tough one. Man, It's never like
it's so hard to predict.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Though, I'm going to quit yours at twelve to one. Okay,
I actually put it bet on him. I think there's
a value there. He's gonna come back and have a
solid year, you know, the top five team. So that's
my pick. When you weres at twelve to one, lock
it up, And.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
We got to throw in one NFL question. Who's winning
the Super Bowl?

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Who's winning the Super Bowl? Shoot? Well, I'm a Philly.
I'm a Philly. I'm gonna I'm gonna eliminate the Eagles
since I'm a Philly, guys.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Okay, I'm not.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
If it's not the Eagles, I'm going to Bills this year.
I think they're finally going to get over that hump
and win it all. I think they're due. So that's
I'm going to there. They're my you know, sexy pick
to bill, but my, my, my and a heart peck
is the Eagles again.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Well, I'll tell you right now.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
People in the Central Valley are sitting there rejoicing, very
excited about you saying the Bills. Everyone in fireball, everyone
that went to Ridley College, everyone that knows Josh Allen
is like, I like that.
