how are you sir?

Speaker 2 (00:07):
It's good to be back on a big weekend A
head for the ice Raiser.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Well, okay, jackalopes, yeah, the jacks. Okay, tell me. First off,
I remember jacalopes from some old ABC television show. But
if people don't know what a jackalope is, what is
a jackalope?

Speaker 2 (00:24):
I would assume it's a jack rabbit of some kind.
If I'm not mistaken. I think that is their mascot
to some degree. I know in their logo it looks
like a rabbit, like a jack rabbit. And I don't
know what the elope part is for.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Well, see, this is what I remember from the TV
show back in the Okay, jackalopes were rabbits, but they
had deer antlers.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Okay, that's where I think the elope part would come.
That's probably where the antelope, Yeah, anvelope part. So it's
like jackalopes, that's what they call it. But I remembered
from an old TV show from back in the day.
But I guess Odess's got Jackalobes. Okay, yeah, you never
know what's going out there West Texas.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Jeez. All right, yeah, just stay away from the old fields.
I'll just stay away from there. Hey, dude, tell us
that we got big games coming up on Friday and Saturday.
What's what's the details concerning this game? Yeah, seven oh.

fancy going on, not like our home opening weekend celebration,
but should be some good hockey. The boys are going
to be hungry. They just got back from Minnesota. It
was a bit of a rough trip. I was going
to tell you what games I was gonna ask you
about that. Yeah, Minnesota. That was that was That was Yeah,
that was crazy up there.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
From what I've heard from all the reports that Dad
those were, but they were still really good games. And
now you're back here with Odessa. Tell me a little bit.
Is there any type of feud with Odessa or even
not really?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
But this Odessa team is really volatile, is how I
would kind of categorize them. They can win six nothing
and then they can lose six nothing. They just seem
to be really up and down. Last year we had
some incredible games. I believe it was a seven to
four finish, there was a five four to seven six.
So a lot of times you get high scoring games
between these two teams. So I'm looking forward to it.

(02:31):
And they're bringing back quite a few returners from last year.
Some of them had a lot of success against the
ice Ras, so really we're hoping that we can shut
them down this weekend.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
But yeah, they're volatile.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
There'll probably a lot of offense, which is fun, a
lot of goals and a lot of hard hits.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
So this is actually their first game with Odessa, right, correct, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
This is the first series. They'll play them a total
of eight times this season. Last year, the Ice Rays
won six of the eight, so they had the advantage
over Odessa last.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
All right, so make sure you make it on out.
It's happening Friday and Saturday over at the Hilliard Center
formerly known as the normally known as the American Bank Center,
but now we say it's a Hilliard Center. Yes, so
make sure you make it on out for the corpus
Christy Ice Rays. Yeah, they can get tickets there at

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
