Speaker 1 (00:00):
This's deeper in the den with dangerous day As your
boss asked you to send them an email detailing everything
you did last week or risk being terminated.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
That seems to be the big trend online now, well,
maybe you want to try out snip out some multitasking.
Apparently there's a new workplace term called task masking is
where employees spend a lot of time and effort trying
to look like they're working hard. In reality, they're really
doing nothing and a big surprise. It sounds like most
of the popular among gen Z workers. There's videos on

(00:32):
TikTok offering advice on task masking, stuff like walking fast
with a laptop stuffed under your armpit, typing really loud.
Sounds a little corny, but some managers are saying it's
a trend and they're seeing it trickle down into their workforce.
But honestly, it's something that always people have done. Just
give everyone and everything names. Remember quiet, quitting, quiet firing.

(00:55):
Now it's task masking. It's not anything new. People have
done this. I've noticed that if you have some papers
in your hand and a really upset look on your face,
most of the time people are going to leave you
alone in the This might seem high, but according to
a poll, thirty three percent of Americans have partners who
admit they cheat in the past, and fourteen percent said
they always cheat, or often cheat or sometimes cheat. Now.

(01:17):
We're not talking about cheating in the relationship. We're cheating
at poker or monopoly or Mario kard. The poll asked
how often do you cheat recreationally playing games, board games,
card games, video games. Fifty one percent of people said never,
nineteen percent said rarely, nine percent sometimes, three percent often,
and two percent said always now. Thirteen percent said they

(01:38):
never play games, and three percent said they'd prefer not
to say now. If you break it down, men more
likely to cheat at games than women, people from the
coast more likely to cheat than people from the Midwest,
and younger people more likely to cheat than older folks.
In fact, in the poll of six thousand people, zero
percent of seniors said they always cheat, just one percent
said often, two percent said sometimes oftentimes. People cheat because

(02:01):
they want to win. Twelve percent of people said they
care a lot about winning, thirty percent care a fair
amount about winning in thirty two percent care a little.
Seventeen percent of people said they don't care about winning
at all. So typically the people who say they don't
care about winning are the people that always lose.
