Speaker 1 (00:00):
He's deeper in the den with dangerous day. You know,
people like to joke about needing a vacation to recover
from a vacation, but if you're traveling with the family,
is an actual, real thing. According to a new report,
it takes parents two and a half days to recover
when traveling with the family, specifically two point four days,
which is two days, nine hours, thirty six minutes for

(00:22):
exhausted parents. That might matter. Seventy one percent of parents
say they do need another vacation to recover from their vacation,
and if you're traveling with kids, the key is not
to make things harder on yourself. Thirty percent of parents
said bribing your kids with treats is fair game, twenty
eight percent buying toys mid trip helps, and twenty six
percent resort to unlimited screen time. More than half of

(00:43):
parents say they bring along something for the kids, like
an audio player or something to entertain the kids with music,
start telling, and soundscapes. If possible, try to find things
that are calming, not something that's annoying or repetitive that
could raise attention and stress. If I can make a recommend,
I remember when my daughter got one of those boppits
for Christmas one year. Yeah, you don't want to have

(01:05):
that in the car when you're on vacation. Deeper in
the life was simpler before we had smartphones, wasn't it.
But here's a trick that gives you a little taste
of what it was like. If you heard of the
new hack called landline mode, Google says search a sporder
through the roof this month after a TikTok mom came
up with it. It's a custom setting that's supposed to
make your phone feel more like a landline or a

(01:25):
cell phone from the late nineties. Apps like dumb Phone
do it too, But it's a hack where you just
put your iPhones built in Focus feature. You essentially put
it and do not disturb mode still rings. Here's how
you do it. You go to Focus, go to to
not Disturb, look for the plus button unless you create
a new focus and choose custom give it a name.

(01:46):
The TikToker did it called it landline Mode. So it
sets up so it turns off alerts for everything but
phone calls. You can let text messages come through too
if you want, turn the volume way up and leave
it in a specific spot in your home, so if
it rings, you have to get up and go answer
it or let it go to voicemail. That's where the
landline part comes in. Once it's set, you can toggle

(02:08):
on and off like do not Disturb. Android phones have
a similar option. You should be able to do it.
Supposed to make it able to focus like it's nineteen
ninety nine. Does that mean I still have to rewind
the VHS too. Tune it again for another episode of
Deeper in the Den with dangerous Dave light Year.
