Bob Do Do Do Do Do Do. Hey, y'all, it's Denise's podcast.
Hey, Hey, welcome to anothershow. I'm Denise Plant, and
today we have Megan Maroney as aguest. I'm super excited because she's coming
with Kenny Chesney July twenty seventh inpower Field, Mile High. She already
dropped her new album. We're goingto talk all about that, and I

(00:24):
have to warn you I had thisconversation with her a couple of weeks ago.
I've been sitting on it because Iwas so so sick. I thought
it was allergies, but I endedup ye abby in just a little rundown.
So you'll have to excuse the wayI sound during the interview. Yeah
it hurts. Before we get tothe interview, let's do a little Denise's

(00:44):
dirt and give you an update onwhat's going on in pop culture. First
off, Ingrid Andres. She's local, she's from Highlands Ranch, really really
talented songwriter and singer and just agreat overall woman. She's singing at the
MLB be home run derby the StarSpangled Banner and it was not good.
Got a horrible reaction, and let'sface it, it wasn't a good job

(01:07):
whatsoever. I thought, well, she's not a powerhouse singer, maybe her
manager. Shame on her manager forputting her in there. But she did
come out and say that she ischecking into rehabs. She wrote, I'm
not gonna bes y'all, I wasdrunk last night. I'm checking myself into
a facility today to get some helpthat I need. And that was not
me last night. I apologize tothe MLB, all the fans, and

(01:30):
this country I love so much forthat rendition. I'll let y'all know how
rebehab is and I hear it superfun XO Ingrid. We've had mixed reviews,
most is positive online. Underneath thatpost, there are a few trolls
that are saying horrible things. ButI just hope Ingrid ignores all of that
and gets the help that she needsbecause she is so incredibly talented and such

(01:52):
a nice young lady. And let'sface it, you just shouldn't kick somebody
when they're down. Because she's inthe public eye. Everybody gets to see
when she's down. So it justfrustrates me when I read those things about
trolls. Now here's something that's goingto blow your mind. I'm a fan,
a fan of Terrell Davis. I'vemet him several times, of course,
a former Bronco player. Really greatguy, has a great family.

(02:15):
He was so sweet, recorded somevideos for my kids, wished him happy
birthday, and just a really niceman. He's a Dinver Bronco icon and
he was flying with his family fromDenver to Orange County. He said during
the beverage service, he tapped amill flight attendant on the arm to ask
for a cup of ice for hisson. The flight attendant responded by shouting,

(02:37):
don't hit me. He left thebeverage cart in the aisle and rushed
to the front of the plane. So Terrell Davis and other passengers they weren't
really surprised by his reaction, andhe thought, oh well, I'm just
going to leave it alone. Noother interactions with the flight attendant for the
rest of the flight, But whenthey landed and arrived at the gates,
six FBI and other law enforcement officersboarded the plane, placed him in handcuff

(03:00):
and escorted him off the plane. He says he was briefly detained in question
and it was rightfully determined by theagents that this flight attendant was inaccurate and
his accusations, and the agents profuselyapologized to him, even offering to support
him and his family in any waypossible. United Airlines said the flight attendant
has been removed from duty as theyinvestigate the incident. So, you know,

(03:23):
Terrell put this on Instagram and Imessaged him and I said, you
know, this is horrible, horrificthat happened to you, and in front
of your family too. I mean, what are your children going to think
growing up and seeing their dad takenoff the plane in handcuffs. But the
one positive thing to this is heis Terrell Davis, and everybody knows he

(03:43):
is an amazing man. He's doneso much for our community. And it's
almost like God put him in thatposition because with his platform, he can
make a difference. He can dosomething about that ignorant person. If somebody
else were in that position, I'mnot so sure that they would take it
so seriously and take the side ofthe passenger. Although there were witnesses.

(04:05):
There were witnesses, so you know, I just hope that turns out.
He did say he got a lawfirm, and I don't blame him,
don't blame them at all. MorganWallin, He's announcing a new show in
his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. The country music star will perform at the
Nayland Stadium September twenty second. It'sa surprise performance part of Wallin's One Night

(04:25):
at a Time tour. He's goingto be joined by Hardy and Ernest.
So tickets they are on sell tomorrow. You want to check that out.
Shannon Doherty, This makes me sosick to my stomach that she had to
go through this. She was notonly fighting for her life for breast cancer,
but she was fighting for a divorcesettlement. And I don't know,
is this her last way of Maybeshe just didn't want her family to have

(04:46):
to deal with this, or wasthis her last way of saying you know,
I love you, goodbye? Youget this. The day before she
died, she settled her divorce fromher ex husband. Listen, I'm not
even gonna mention his name, butthey already come to terms on property and
other issues, and that the casewould not proceed as uncontestant. As part
of their settlement, they also serveddocs with final disclosures that usually cover finances

(05:10):
and such so she requested upwards offifteen thousand dollars a month in spousal support
for him, as well as thousandsin attorney fees. I can't believe she
had to deal with that. Theday before she died, Richard Simmons he
also died and come out that herefused medical attention after falling in his bathroom
the day before he died. Whybecause he wanted to stay home on his

(05:32):
birthday on Friday, His housekeeper triedto get him to go. According to
authorities, Richard had said he feltdizzy before falling. He told the housekeeper
he might seek medical help the nextday, and then he went to bed.
On Saturday morning, the housekeeper foundRichard unresponsive on the floor next to
his bed. They're not sure whatcaused the dizziness, and they're not even

(05:54):
sure if it's related to his death, but it was adorable on Twitter.
He was so excited for all thelove he was receiving for his birthday,
and he even tweeted about that.So Brina Carpenter, get ready. She's
in a new ad for the twentytwenty four Olympics in Paris. It's so
cute. I guess she had alittle bit too much Expresso that I'm It's

(06:17):
kind of like a play off ofher summer hit song Espresso, and she
thinks a bird in front of heris a big fan. So she has
this one sided conversation and she shareseverything she's excited about at the Olympics this
year. It's super super cute. Finally, Taylor Swift's The Torture Poets Department
once again taken the top spot onBillboard two hundred. This is the album

(06:40):
twelfth week in the number one position, and the album has been number one
for twelve weeks in a row aswell. Whoa, Whoa, Whoa.
So she's beating out nineteen eighty nineand Fearless, which both grabbed eleven weeks
at the top of the chart before, and The Tortured Poets Department also passed
Whitney Houston's Whitney from nineteen eighty seven, so she's becoming the only album from

(07:00):
a woman to spend twelve weeks inthe number one position. Way to go.
That's awesome. So that's a quicklook at Denise's dirt. Now let's
get to the interview with Megan Moronyagain. Excuse the way I sound I
was unfortunately really sick, but Ididn't want to miss the opportunity to talk
to Megan Maroney enjoy. Hello, how are you. I'm doing okay.
I have a little bit of allergies, so you'll have to excuse the way

(07:23):
I sound. Oh no, that'sthe worst. I have to take an
allergy though, literally every day. It's craziness, and I would imagine it
impacts your career. Mine is avoice on the radio, you are a
singer. Yeah, definitely, it'snot fun. Congratulations. First off,
we heard you with Tennessee Orange. Then I'm Not Pretty. We were playing

(07:43):
it over and over and over onthe Bowl because it's requested so much.
Thank you so much and thanks forplaying it. Is that really based off
of a true story where your exboyfriend's current girlfriend was kind of creeping on
your Instagram? Yep, that istrue. If you go back to my
Instagram actually and you scroll down totwenty sixteen, you can find the picture.

(08:07):
I have a pineapple Lily's cup inmy hand, I'm sitting on the
edge of a pool and I amin Panama City Beach PCB. So that's
definitely, yeah, a true story, and my fans go back and find
it. Like I see comments comein, you know, every day or
so, and they're like, wefound it. Did you ever hear from
your ex boyfriend or that girl aboutit? Oh no, My most of

(08:30):
my exes are blocked as they shouldbe. Absolutely. I don't get how
people can be like friends with theirexes. So strange. No, no
red flag. Well you know yougot something dropping on July twelfth. I'm
so excited for you, am IOkay. It's a new album. It's
not even been a year since wefirst heard you and your sophomore album's coming

(08:50):
out, and I got a sneakpeek. Dang girl, you are writing
from your soul. You are great. Thank you, thank you. Yeah,
I feel like an album. Asecond album a year after the first
one was a bold move, butI knew my fans wanted new music,
and so it felt like the rightthing to do. So tell me about

(09:13):
am I Okay? So, amI Okay is basically written. It was
written in the infatuation stage of arelationship. And what I learned from that
experience is that I will never writea song about a man within three weeks
of knowing them ever again. Becausehe got painted in a really great light,

(09:35):
and eventually his true goers showed, which you find later in the album.
But that's cool that you can dothe follow ups with it because you're
like, dangn now he's gonna letgo. I know, I know,
but that is how I felt atthe time. So I don't regret writing
that, obviously, but it's justkind of those one of those situations where

(09:56):
yeah, you're like asking yourself,am I okay? Like I'm I'm the
emo cowgirl? Why am I happy? Why is he bringing me flowers?
Why is he being nice to me? I always say, and this is
a huge compliment. I always say, you're the country Barbie Doll because you
have thank you. Yes, Imean, you're just so dan cute and

(10:18):
so talented, and to hear whatyou're going through when you write this music,
it's like, wow, someone likeher goes through the same stuff that
we go through. It's so relatable. Thank you, thank you. Yeah.
I mean I love dressing up andthat's definitely a part of the stage
look. But yeah, I'm definitelyjust like everybody else. I experienced heartbreak

(10:43):
and you know, I have prettybad taste in men, so well,
I'll be wearing my bedazzled hat. When I see you Rocket and power Field
with Kenny Chesney, perfect exciting tosee it. Are you excited coming to
Denver with Kenny Chesney of all people? I am so so excited. I
mean, being on this tour hasbeen like such a dream come true.

(11:05):
I, like everyone else, grewup listening to Kenny Chesney. When I
was in college. I went andsaw Kenny Jesney in Atlanta in a stadium
and I was in the three hundredsection just because I love Kenny Jesney and
I loved, you know, ThomasTrutt was on tour with him and Old
Dominion and so it was just that. It's an insane full circle moment.
And excited to be in Denver. The last time I was at that stadium,

(11:30):
I was actually playing in the parkinglot. I did a thing for
the Luke Holms Whiskey Jam thing thatthey did a few years back. I
think that was at least two yearsago. Now I got to see Luke
Holms play there after. I playedin the parking lot. So excited to
be on the stage this time.Yeah, You're going to be center stage
in power Field mile High. That'slike a pinch me moment insane. Yeah,

(11:52):
I'm so excited. Before I letyou go, I know we can
pre order vinyl two for your yournew album that's dropping July twelfth, am
I Okay. It's a great album, so I want to encourage everybody to
get it and listen to it assoon as you can get your hands on
it. And then quickly I knowyou're on the Twister soundtrack. Is that
the first time you ever wrote asong for a movie? Yes, it

(12:13):
was. It was honestly the firsttime I'd ever written a song for like,
you know, usually i'm writing forlike to you know, heal some
part in myself or whatever I'm goingthrough, you know what I mean.
But I got a prompt and Iobviously made it about my childhood home and
you know, connected the two.But yeah, it was my first time
doing that. It was so fun, and I haven't seen where it's at

(12:35):
in the movie yet, so lookingforward to getting a ticket and going to
watch the movie and seeing where it'sat. Well, Megan, I'm really
looking forward to seeing you live inDenver with Kenny Chesney and everybody getting their
hands on am I Okay, droppingJuly twelfth, Thank you. It was
