Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Truth Magnum is in the building as you can hear.
(00:02):
Truth is How would you describe yourself?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
I mean tan, vascular, Oh yeah, jacked, fanny packed, Oh yeah,
never slack. What the pants to the pants are? My
white Zuba's on today? Never mind that coffee stain. I've
been spinning and winning since I woke up this.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Morning and around Omaha. We'll get to that in a second. Also,
wearing a legitimate like eighty eight eighty nine ish styled
Nike Like, is that all the way?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Zip up? It does? Oh man, that is impressive.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yes. So you and your partner Turbo Floyd truth are
I want to say. I mean, you're here in front
of me, but it feels like you came walking out
of a time machine.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
How do you describe yourselves? Well, a lot of people
say we look like we're straight out of the eighties.
I don't get it. I don't know what they're saying.
The outrunners don't like to look in the past. We
like to look forward. In fact, we're so ahead of
our time we're in the next week already. Oh is
that right?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Well, you already know what's going to happen at aw
when Dynamite and Collision come to Ralston just outside of
Omaha tomorrow, Is that right?
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yes, I do, and I can tell you firsthand you're
not gonna want to miss it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
So six thirty Star Time that is over there at
the we used to be the Ralston Arena now the
Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
That is a mouthful and I've memorized it and it's
going to be a blast tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, it's going to be great. They couldn't add enough
syllables into the arena name. I suppose before we get
into wrestling, because I got a lot of wrestling related
questions for you. It's truth, magnum. This is not your
first time in Omaha here in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
No. In fact, I think a lot of people are
calling us the new adopted sons of Omaha. Some people
are saying Kings of Omaha. I don't know about that
just yet. But we love it here. Okay, So let's
talk about the first trip.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
In February, the University of Nebraska Omaha basketball teams in
the middle of winning a lot of games, and they
had a chance to clinch the Summit League, or at
least a share of the Summit League regular season championship,
something they've never done before. And I was surprised to
get a note across my email from Jordan Sarnoff and
the staff over there at Uno that the outrunners from
(02:13):
aw were coming a month before your guys' scheduled show
here to hang out with the basketball team. How did
this all come about?
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Well, we had seen on the television the team with
their trash can tradition and beating the crap out of
these trash cans. We noticed they started dropping elbows, they're
dropping knees, leg drops, they're coming off the chairs, and
we got the call ourselves and we're like, we would
love to be a part of this. There's there's definitely
some moves we can do with that trash can, and
(02:41):
we love the enthusiasm and the passion of the Mavericks.
So it was just a match made in heaven.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
So you guys were there, you were sitting court side,
you know, ran out with the team, You talked to
the team before the game. This wasn't just a you know,
made a cameo. You were here with the team all day.
They win the game, I think that was against South Dakota.
Guys go back into the locker room, and this was
the viral moment of you and Turbo taking out this garbage.
Can take take me through kind of what the what
(03:09):
the environment in that locker room was like.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Well, before the game, the boys were amped up. I
think our hype up speech had a lot to do
with that. I let them know nothing succeeds like success,
and oh yeah, I think that really sunk in for him.
I don't want to credit us for the win, but
I think we had a big part of it. And
then when they when that final buzzer rang, we went
backstage or excuse me, I guess they call it a
(03:33):
locker room. We went to the locker room. We saw
that trash can and we beat the holy hell out
of that trash can because gosh, dang it, that's that's
what we do.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
That's what and it was it was like, you guys
did the finishing move, what's the what's the finishing move?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
The double bicapped elbow straight from the Predator movie. We
that trash can never stood a chance. Yeah, major meme
material from the Predator movie. There just awesome stuff.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
And the locker room, I mean, you guys hit the
elbow drop and it's just pandemonium in there. I mean
like everybody's happy, everybody's celebrating. I know that you guys,
you know, are amped up for a living. That's what
the Outrunners are. I mean, they're they're they're hardcore guys
when you're out there and you're wrestling. But what is
it about this team and now you just happen to
(04:18):
be back in down you helped send them off. Do
you help lead them out the tunnel to send them
off to Providence today? What about this team and what
the Outrunners are also doing? Because you guys also have
had some big matches recently, how is that kind of
correlated there?
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Well, the the Outrunners and the and the Mavericks there
were very similar because we both play with a bunch
of passion. Getting to know these guys, getting to see
the city rally behind them, has just been awesome. And
you know, now that they've made the tournament, a lot
of a lot of people are counting them as underdogs,
just like they do the Outrunners. Well, trust me, there's
not enough fingers and toes on planet Earth to count
(04:53):
out the Mavericks or the Outrunners. That's why we love
each other. I just so great. We speaking with Truth Magnum.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
He is a from the Outrunners tag team at all
Elite Wrestling, a w comming tomorrow night to Liberty First
Credit Union Arena in Ralston where they're gonna have two shows.
You're gonna be able to see Dynamite, which is a
live show. You're gonna be able to see Collision also,
which is a show that airs over the weekend, So
a lot of action that you're gonna be able to see.
It's basically two for the price of one and the
doors open at five point thirty tomorrow night. Now, I
(05:22):
gotta ask Truth when we talk about tag team wrestling,
this is it's an art form. You have to have
great chemistry with your partner. You have to have We
talked about the moves you know what about you and
Turbo Floyd work as a tag team.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
We basically can read each other's minds. I know what
he's gonna do. He knows what I'm gonna do, whether
that's spinning, flexing, shades on, shades off. We are big
entrance guys. We bring the energy we need. We feed
off the crowd and if you come on down to
the Liberty First Credit Union Arena, tomorrow you're gonna There's
nothing like a pro wrestling event live, I mean, and
(06:00):
that's how people become fans. There's no energy quite like
a pro professional wrestling event. There's certainly nothing like AW
and even more than that, there's the Outrunners are one
of a kind. We're something you experience, You feel that passion,
and that's what we're bringing tomorrow. You go on.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Guys both have X accounts and I think it's on yours.
It may be his two. But the pen video is
when you first got to AW. It is like a
sixty second long promo that is literally VHS quality of
who the Outrunners are and it is about the best masterpiece.
(06:39):
I mean, I don't know how this didn't win an Oscar.
I mean, this is amazing stuff. You got to tell
me about the art. It's not even just the wrestling
in the ring, the art of what the Outrunners can bring.
It really makes you feel something.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Well, if you haven't seen it, I suggest going to
my social media account at Truth Magnum. And we're still
in talks with the Academy about maybe some kind of
correction on the on the awards this year deserved. Yeah, yes,
and so if you want to see what the Outrunners about.
Check out that video. There's I would love to say
there's an art to it, but really all you gotta
do is turn the camera on and the Outrunners are
(07:14):
going to be there. It's you can feel the meat
pumping through our veins, you can feel the electricity. There's
nothing like the Outrunners. Come see us tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, so you have all of that and it's very vascular,
very young. I think there was a guy who owned
the gym who's trying to ask if you guys had
a membership, and you were able to shut that down
very quickly. I mean, he's gonna mess with the Outrun next.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Come on, we're doing you a favorite pedal. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
So with that being said, before I want to take
a break and kind of get a little bit more
into wrestling with you.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Here a truth magnum.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
But for anybody who's interested in this particular show, what's
the easiest way that they can find more info and
get tickets? Check out aw ticks dot com. Aw ticks

(08:04):
with a ton of major stars, including Truth Magnum. Truth,
can you stick around for another seg with me?
Speaker 2 (08:07):
I would love to?
Speaker 1 (08:08):
All right, three fourteen, I'm going to get into the
weeds a little bit with Truth Magnum of the Outrunners. Yeah,
all elite wrestling in the building on news radio.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Will have itthing KFABA.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Truly honor to be joined by Truth Magnum of the Outrunners,
All Elite Wrestling. They're going to be in Ralston at
Liberty First Credit Union Arena tomorrow night and start time
six thirty. Doors open at five thirty. You can find
information aw tis dot com. So Truth Magnum. Can I
go back into the history of truth Magnum a little bit? Here?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Can you can? We are twenty year vets, excuse me,
twenty year rookies and we have a word open book.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
All right, So twenty year rookies. So you've been you've
been in the business a lot or a little time.
I'm not it's three time Rookie of the Year, three
time Rookie of I can't say anybody in the history
of anything has actually done that before. But you know,
wrestling is one of those inspiring things for so many
of us. You know, for me, I'm not a professional wrestler,
(09:06):
but I remember watching Brett Hart.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
He was a guy for me growing up.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
I love Chris Jericho growing up, and it's cool to
see him still wrestling right now. Who were those types
of guys for you that you know not only inspired
you by entertaining you, but one making you want to
be a professional wrestler.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Oh, there's so many. I think of Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels,
Scott Hall, I think Bred Hart. Like you said, my
personal favorite, especially as I've learned more about wrestling, is
the one and only Mister Perfect. He is. Oh yeah,
absolutely perfect.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Kurt Hennig. I mean, so I'm getting a way in
the weeds, and I told him I'm going to do this.
I get four hours every day and five days a
week for this one segment. I'm getting into the weeds
about something I care about. Yes, Kurt Hennig, future Mister
Perfect and Scott Hall back in the Awa days in
the Minneapolis territory, that is one of the greatest tag
(10:03):
teams nobody ever talks about.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
I agree A lot of people compare them to a
young Outrunners team.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
But what's so cool about Scott Hall if we're talking
about this, is he is unrecognizable from the guy he
would become in the nineties when he was in w
and his Razor Ramone in the nineties. The look and
you guys have it, I mean like it's a total
package thing.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
As a mustache aficionado. Scott Hall's eighties Awa mustache's top tier?
Yeah tier? Why did he get rid of it?
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Though?
Speaker 2 (10:34):
I don't know if it works for Razor Ramone, that's true,
but he's the man. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
What about your look now though? Like, because you guys
are so unique to this style now you would have
fit in perfectly in the nineteen eighties. Was there anybody
esthetically that you kind of borrow from when you got
into the business. You're just like, I want to be
like this guy and then take it to my own place.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Well, I wouldn't say there's anybody where like. The goal
with us was to be nostalgic but also fresh, new
but also familiar, So we borrowed a lot from that
time period, But I couldn't say there's anybody like in
particular that we look like we tried to be something
of the era of the era, but not something that
you've already seen.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
And that's true because I couldn't tell you what you
look like except your Truth Magnum from the Outrunners and
Turbo Floyd is Turbo Floyd from the Outrunners and Turbo
will be in town with Truth for the shows tomorrow
night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston for
Dynamite and Collision. So Truth Magnum sitting here, I gotta
(11:37):
you look great, thank you, You're in great shape.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Thank you. What's the workout look like on a day
to day basis, Well, it's about eight days a week.
You'll find me and Turbot in the gym, nothing but curls,
push ups. Every day is chest day for the Outrunners.
As you can plainly see. Yeah, a lot of vascularity,
vascularity and a lot of flexing and we take the
flexing out of the gym and we put it into
(12:01):
the ring. And it's safe to say that people love it.
I love it. No legg day in there at all
I'll do. I'll walk up the stairs to the gym. Okay, well,
it's an upper body business.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
I have heard that I've heard that before, so I
would imagine diet has to be a thing too, right.
I hear some of these guys, and we were talking
off the air about some of the guys that you're
actually wrestling, like Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. Who have
you been on nationwide wrestling and for you know Bobby Lashley,
especially MMA audiences over the last twenty five years. I mean,
(12:33):
these guys looked the same as they did twenty five
years ago. I would imagine what you guys eat and
drink have a lot to do with the way that
you're able to look and go in the ring.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Well, you mentioned Lashly and Benjamin, two men that don't
age whatsoever. But when you're talking about the outrunners, our
diet is pretty simple, just meat and wine coolers, and
I think that that comes through on the screen. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
I don't know if wine killers was the first thing
I thought of, but it actually makes sense now that
you mention it. Who do you like working with the most?
Like you got quite a roster, especially in the tag
team division right now. Like I mentioned, you guys just
wrestled those two for the tag titles. Who have you
enjoyed your time in the ring with or I get it.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
I guess I got to say our toughest opponents have
been probably FTR. We love battling with them. They're now
good friends of ours. We had a brief period of
time as the FTR Runners AH, and they're real good
guys and also our biggest competition, So anytime we get
to mix it up with them is a good time.
(13:35):
I know.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Tag team championships are always the goal for anybody who's
in a tag team division, especially one this good. You
had a taste of what that looks like fighting for
those titles very recently on AW Revolution. You're not out
of that picture. What's it going to take for you
guys to get over the ump?
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Well, the match didn't, the result wasn't what we wanted,
But you know what it's not about. It's not about
how many times you get knocked down. It's about knocking
the other guy down. And I think what we showed
is that we were able to knock Lashley and Benjamin
down and there is a universe, trust me, where the
Outrunners can do it and they don't get back up,
and that's that's what's going to happen the next time
(14:09):
we get a shot.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
It's a competitive division, though, is the powers that be
told you you have to work your way back up
to contender ladder. Do you think you're going to get
another title match here sometime soon?
Speaker 2 (14:20):
That's just the way it is an AW. We have
a complete ranking system. It did knock us down a
few notches, but there's plenty of time to climb back up,
and I guarantee you that's what the Outrunners are going
to do.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
We can talk about the Outrunners all day because I
love the Outrunners. So you know, you guys, you know
one a wise man once said, in order to beat
your opponent or you in order to win, you have
to beat your opponent. Sorry I botched the line there,
but I wonder right, I'm going to go. I'm going
to see the Outrunners tomorrow night at Liberty First Credit Union.
(14:52):
But there's a lot of other people that are doing
some important things on AW television. I know, you guys
have to monitor your own business, but who else can
we expect to see in the ring for AW Dynamite
Collision tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
I know there's a big four way match for a
continental title shot, which is probably one of the biggest
matches on the show tomorrow. There's so many things going
on in aw right now, it's hard to keep track,
but there's all very good. You got Tony Storm, Kenny Omega, Swerve, Strickland, MJF,
Chris Jericho the show tomorrow. You're not you know, oftentimes
(15:28):
some stars appear on just one show or the other,
Dynamite or Collision. You're getting them all there tomorrow and
it's going to be absolutely huge.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
So you mentioned we're speaking of truth magnum here from
the outrunners, and I just want to kind of pick
your brain here. People at Kenny Omega World renowned for wrestling, absolutely,
this company renowned for the wrestling the WWE for instance.
Not to talk about the competition here, but many people
who are familiar with that version of wrestling can go
(15:57):
back to the era that you talked about with Randy
Savage and you know, Scott Hall and Brett Hart. Things
were very different. It's you know, not that it's not
show business, but you guys have a show business element
as well, but it's also you know, a bit more.
It's not more anything, it's just a little less of
the wrestling. How can you describe the athleticism of some
(16:18):
of these guys, because what is going on in this
company is so far beyond anything that I've seen in
any wrestling company ever before.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Well, you know, our tagline is if you haven't seen
the Outrunners, you haven't seen anything yet. If you haven't
seen people like Kenny Omega or will Ospray or Tony Storm,
these are the best of the very best when it
comes to singles wrestling. And it's not just you know,
we talk about the sports entertainment side of it. These
are amazing athletes and if literally, if you haven't seen
(16:48):
anything like this, come experience at firsthand, because there is
nothing like it. And if you've never been to a
wrestling show, prepared to be hooked for life.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
It really is something that once you've been there, and
especially if you go with your family, it's just one
of the greatest times that you're ever going to have.
And like you said, both of the rosters like Collision
and Dynamite are both going to be there because both
shows are happening back to back as part of this
event tomorrow at Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston,
and you can go to a w TIS that's awtix
(17:18):
dot Com and get your tickets. Very affordable for the
entire family to go, and the show starts at six
thirty pm. You will see the Outrunners, including the Truth
Magnum In Truth. We really appreciate you coming in. Thanks
for all the good juju that you and Turbo have
given to our Omaha Mavericks as well, and we can't
wait to see you guys tomorrow in the ring.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Awesome. Thanks for having us guys. If you haven't seen
the Outrunners in aw you haven't seen nothing.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Yeah, and we'll have more on Emory Soger on News
Radio eleven ten k Emri Sunger
