Speaker 3 (00:28):

but I missed the snacks at this radio station, so
I'm up here on a Friday afternoon to talk track,
cross country and tennis. How about that? There you go.
There's nothing else happening this weekend, right.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
No, don There's a lot of stuff going on next weekend.
It's our busy time. This weekend is Garman and blah blah.
Are you running?
Speaker 3 (00:52):
I'm not running the Garment Race. I'm excited to see
how that comes off. They have a five k, ten
k half marathon and a marathon. I'm excited for racing
inside the city. That'll be cool. And then there's football
in the next week. You have the l Tour. How's
that coming along? You guys got some good riders. You
got how many people are registered right now?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Right now? Close to ten thousand, ten thousand, could have
more in the next week or so.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Nice from all over the place. And I still get in.
Can I still get in? Are you ready to go?
I could ply if you're not ready to go, I
could start training today. I could probably do a couple
of long rides and be ready for the Yeah, you
have a twenty five, you have like a kid thirty two.
That might be hard. Yeah, it might be hard for
(01:37):
me at this point.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Good luck with that.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Are the prizes for the kids race?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Of course, everyone gets the middle.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
I'm in.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Everybody gets the middle.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I'm signing up right now.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
You're run cyclist CEMC big part of it too.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, we're excited to be a part of it. It's
a big you know, healthy communities are always important, and
you know, not just at the hospital. We want to
make sure you're healthy all over the place. So this
is a way for people to stay healthy, invest money
in our community.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
And you know what I'm doing. I don't know if
you've been listening to the show, but I have a
commercial performance where I am I am gonna are you
personal I'm gonna yeah, I'm not wearing them now because
I'm not well running, I'm not walking. Can we specialized
shoes are Hokas?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
What are you wearing?
Speaker 4 (02:19):
No? Good question.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
I thought, you know, a bunch of old. It's very
funny because my older friends wear a hocus and I'm
thinking they fitted me. Like to get in that age,
not have to wear Hocus. No, I got some some
other ones Brooks.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Brooks are good books.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah, they feel pretty good.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
It's whatever fits your foot, you know. Hookahs are big
and squishy.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I'm flat footed. I'm a plotter.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Baby, man, there's a five K in your future?
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Oh yeah, there is? There is how long in the future.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Well, Welcome to the show, Tim.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Bentley, thanks for having me. Good to see everybody.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
You're talking about what's going on this weekend? What a
big night tonight? U C L A. And I'm not
sure it's a big that's a big game, baby.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
It feels like it feels like it's always you see.
Sure the Goddess tell me what. I feel like. I'm
in the back ten again. I feel like, you know,
like lud Olson's gonna walk out on there.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
You really, are you really chomping at the bit for this?
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Not this early in the season, but it's still you know,
I mean it's still cool.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Thank you for that. Yeah, you're right, So not not
this early in the season. No, I mean I don't
want to. I'll ask you before I ask the kid,
because the kid can, you know, get enough of sports.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
No, I mean it'll be cool to watch and see
and it's fun watching these great players at the u A.
And you know, I mean, I mean, what a crop.
But I mean it'll be fun to watch and see
how they do. And you know, they beat up my
alma mater and you the other day.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
But yeah, yeah, it is not too good. I know
they played do they do play? Embry Riddle literally kicked
the crowd out of those pilots. Infect someone asked me that.
I said, well, I think you got to take any
of you with.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Fifteen maybe maybe it'll be close.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
And why I'm not one real one? Really? Who are you?
You can't you can't. You don only want to be here,
you want to get prepped for the U c l A.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
I mean, well, it's just because, right you think about
last year after the like at a conference schedule, it
was rough, right, But there were good teams in there,
there was good games in there. And the one that
you know, kind of stuck in everybody's like craw or
whatever the saying is is was that Ucla game, Because
that's when that's when it felt like Tommy c got
a little hot. And I'm not saying like obviously very
just different situation then to now. But it's like, you know,
(04:21):
you still remember that. It's like we want to get
Ucla and it's like a healthy rivalry from back in
the day.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Side just the colors on the floor, you know, I
mean Ucla and the blue and the gold, and I mean,
like I said, it's too earlate to get excited, but
it'll be fun to watch and it'll remind me of
like nineteen eighty seven, you know, the Cats and the
and the Bruins.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Nineteen eighty seven.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Holy crap, listen, Well, my dad told me about that.
I wasn't quite born yet, Daddy, me.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
And you both. Okay, So there's that, and then tomorrow morning, Cincinnati,
everybody's giddy about the football program again. So we go, wait, yeah,
are you I'm yeah, Bowl eligible?
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Right, let's go.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Here's the issue with that everyone's excited about being Bowl eligible. Okay, now,
how are you gonna go from Tucson to go watch
and play somewhere else?
Speaker 3 (05:11):
My Facebook feet bleuw up Bowl eligible? Go Cats, And
I'm like, oh my gosh, come on, checked out those
one were playing on December thirteenth or something that could be.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
It could be December thirteenth, December thirty first Sun Bowl
twenty something issue. But okay, so I'll go to you
and I'm going to one one god rich kid over there.
The other guy he just said, so you you're excited tomorrow?
No for tomorrow?
Speaker 5 (05:34):
Yeah, oh no, what I think. I think it's it's
gonna be a little lopsided.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Now, okay, so you get excited, you're gonna win.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
No.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
The thing is, I'm realistic until game time, but like
right like half an hour to like forty five minutes
before the game, like, you can't convince me the Cats
are gonna lose.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
So well, what's yeah? I mean, you know, it's it's cool,
It's it's and Cincinnati. It's gonna look like football on
your TV. And you know, hopefully it's cold, old and
you know, like football because you're here and there there. Oh,
come on, let's you know, snow or you know, let's
get some football. But I was looking at their stats like,
I was like, they're pretty even, you know, across the floor.
I don't know what the difference is. Why are you
(06:12):
so nervous there, Bud.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
So you know, everybody kind of has these high hopes
off of Kansas, And don't get me wrong, they played great,
but there was a lot of chances that Kansas just like,
there was a lot of times where I felt like
Kansas kind of gave the game away.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Obviously, those picks were like times there was three of them.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
Yeah, no, and for if you include the field goal
instead of going for it on the fourth and one.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Yeah, So so it's Cincinnati only bat Ku by three points.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Come on, don't tell me you give those competitor to competitor.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
I totally do. I believe it. Let's go, come on.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
I think if they're gonna win, it's gonna be it's
gonna be similar to the b YU game, just in
favor of Arizona. If if Arizona's gonna win, they're gonna
have to play like out of their minds and it's
gonna have to be end up being like that b
YU game.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Okay, that's fair. That's fair if they're gonna win, if
they're gonna win, but you don't think they're gonna win.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
No, I mean their quarterback's really good. I mean then
they talked about it too, right, that's that they're saying.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
I mean Brennan said on Monday that this is the
best team they've played all season. Yeah, well you know
here and there, right, but copeak Yeah, and so I
think it's just yeah, it's I mean, it's scary. Not
scary in the sense of like I don't want to
play it, but it's just like scary in the sense
of like everyone's so like high on the on the
football team right now because of that game against Kansas,
(07:30):
and you know, I just I I can already see
what the reactions are gonna be.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
If you know, just get on this train early, my friend,
because you will get excited every season about the uf
A football team, and they will do this to you.
All right. You'll be like, Hey, we're gonna be good,
We're gonna be great. You're gonna get excited about a
win we beat KU, and they're gonna break your heart.
I mean, I've been living in Tucsons since a long time. No,
so get on the train. It's get on this the
(07:55):
sad train, because it'll happen. I mean, I want them
to be great. Yeah, of course, I know what it's
like for you of eighteen to be great with basketball.
We know it can happen here and I don't know why, man.
That So I hope they don't wind up like six
and six. You know, yeah, that'd be a little bit.
That would be a bomber. We were Bowl eligible, but
very three games.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
They have probably a sixty percent chance of going seven
and above, forty percent of going six and six. But
but they also have a chance of going a big
chance well of going six and six. I mean, would
it be a disappointment, No, no.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Well no, but I mean not not any enthusiasm he
has today, like the excitement like, hey man, were he
always has that eight and four? Let's go.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
He's a naive young man.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
I know, That's what I'm saying. Just be prepared for
he's happy, Gilmore, Baby, Just be prepared.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
I'm ready.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Ready.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Are you doing your show tomorrow? Are there?
Speaker 4 (08:46):
No?
Speaker 2 (08:47):
No, we only do home games.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Only home games, okay games.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
That's good, So you can put me those two all
the time. You can put me though, that's.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
An early can't put baby in a corner.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Man.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
If we had to be here for the start of
the Houston game, that would have been a tough one.
That would have been like six in the morning.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Like, that's good. I've been listening to that show too.
You're doing a good job with that. I like that
you're getting some good feedback on that show.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah, that's great. It's good, great sponsors and all that stuff. Yeah,
good for question.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
It's a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
It's a lot It is a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
You know.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Playing with Ricky is one of the things. I'm glad
I'm not. He's on this side and on that side,
and he's out of my weight class, so I know better. Hey,
today's show, we're going to talk to Jay have a
little fun with his picks because they suck. I shouldn't
say I'm gonna knock on Wood because I get the
big lead on him. And then at the four seventeen hour,
we're going to talk to Brian talking about tonight's game,
(09:38):
tomorrow's game and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
And this is this is a this is a fun weekend.
This reminds me of the busy weekends when you know
the Cats will be under all late nineties basketball, football,
or just that midnight madness energy that happens in October November.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no question. And this is the time
of year now anymore. It's one hundred and ten in October,
but mid October to mid April, you can't beat it.
And the sporting events outside fantastic. You know last week,
I did you got the game last week?
Speaker 3 (10:11):
I did not know it was.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
I was in the heat in the north end zone,
north end zone, and it was, hey, dude, I'm a whimp.
I'm sixty something. And then it was like give me
the health.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Crist around the tailgates and I saw some old some
old friends and made some new friends. But yeah, yeah, yeah,
but I didn't. But the sun was it was hot.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
It was hot, and it was not even hot. It
was like eighty five degrees right in the sun. It'st
but once you start sitting down. But it was good,
a good game. They won, and everybody left happy, good
good good ship for the people in blue. Oh yeah, well,
I'm from Kansas, rock.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Chalk Jayhawk, but you're nau and now rock Chalk and
in my family. I'm the first kid that went to
college that didn't go to k State. My uncle's in
the Hall of Fame, k State Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (10:49):

Speaker 3 (10:51):
My oh Nicole played football with Lynn Dickey back in
the day. Well yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, no, I'm
a but a bunch of my friends, Jayhawkers, Rock Chuck, Okay,
smelly socks, that's.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
What we Sully socks. Well, they probably own Kansas State
a few things in state.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yeah, no, no, Manhattan is a great place to watch football,
you know, you talk about you know, Midwest football. It
was a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
So Jay already texted me he's heard. He's hearing this
conversation and his picks still suck. Yeah, knock on, we'll see.
We're gonna get a hold of him and trust.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Me, I hope you on your picks.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Oh yeah, I know.
Speaker 3 (11:30):

Tim Bentley, Hello, Hello, got Ray at the controls and
we're waiting for Jay. I'm true listening attentioned to you.
We've called Oh he's parking, he's parking.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
He's scared about the picks. Yeah, so are you tracking
your picks this season?
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Oh?
Speaker 13 (16:59):
Yeah, yeah?
Speaker 3 (17:00):
How are you doing? Last it was you were you
guys were close to we were close. I beat him
luster and then what's the where are you standing now?
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Close? This year?
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Pretty good? Pretty good? You'd be living in the foothills
unless you already do now.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
I used to live in the foothills, but I was
always far out of town for petition.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
I had a couple of bad weeks, but thrust them
pretty good. Okay, we'll see what he does. Nothing else.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
So do you do you pick the U of a
games or do you guys stay away from that.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
If you want to pick him, you can. But yeah, no,
I did the first weekend because there was no many
so many games right right now, we can't put them.
I picked them to win to cover. I think it
was they play hah yeah, yeah, and that was easy.
That was an easy game. But not sense. No, although
I know what I would do this week.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
What would so tell us? What would you do this week?
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I would go Cincinnati minus six. It's not enough points
in my mind, right, Yeah, but no, he touched that
there's too much on a roll. That one game, no momentum,
just the role.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
Yeah, start started with one games. One game is will
win two games? There on a streak.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Now yeah you know it's a streak, yeah, but not
a moment It's about the same run runs.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
You have a basketball to for the end of the season.
You put them in the in the playoffs, you bet
that far.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
No, no, no, no, they are the most at least
in my mind that I because I know the team.
They're the most inconsistent team that I see when I
only pay attention to them, and maybe another school too,
but they're not consistent to know what to do.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
I was watching that kid co I mean it's I
know everybody's talking about him, but remember when when you
Gilbert Reinez first played, or Michael Dickerson and he just
they were so quick. Yeah, and you're saying you just
be oh my god, and it's like he's like that,
but he's like six inches taller than those dudes that
weighs by fifty pounds.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Is this Jay? This Jay?
Speaker 13 (19:00):
It's Jay?
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Okay, what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (19:02):
Really?
Speaker 13 (19:03):
You caught me a little early, dude.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
I thought, you know, I thought that was coming on
like a three twenty. I cut a little tight pastical,
tough getting it.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
I'm hiding out, I hear, I hear nothing about bad
things about your picks. Are you hiding out?
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Not hiding out? Steve said I'm going to lose more
money in Vegas, So that's what I'm.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
I didn't say that.
Speaker 13 (19:16):
I just said you could have been you say that.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
I didn't say Vegas. I said no. I could have
said no, Gallus or a yellow or somewhere.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Well, you said I was going to You said I
was going to lose more when I was listening to you. Okay,
don't try, but.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Don't put words in my mouth. You said, I didn't
say Vegas. I didn't tell him where you were going.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
You didn't.
Speaker 13 (19:33):
You're right, you didn't say Vegas.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
But you did say I was going to go lose
more money.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (19:37):
Yeah, you guys pick her even when you're not in
the surround.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
That's what Mason. It was still not a blue bliff
whatever whatever, So you.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Can part to find out a little bit more about him.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Tonight thought, Wait, yeah, you had no question because of
the because of the curveball with UCLA, everyone plays fast
except for UCLA.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, So.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Let me tell you you're going to You're going to Vegas.
As you said, there was something I was going to
say with the guys. So you'll have fun, but it'll
come back to me.
Speaker 13 (20:11):
This is this is an annual script that we do,
have been doing it for over twenty years. We just
go send.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
Now. This was just started three uh you know, legalized
gambling when the only place you could gamble on sports
was in Vegas. So we would make it a weekend
every year. But we still do it because it's just
fun to go hang out.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Can you play poker, blackjack? You watch games, and then
sports book where we go sit in the sports sports book.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
We go sit in the sportsbook for two days and
uh and just watch football and bet games and drink.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
And have fun. I love the sports book, man, it
is so fun. I mean it's just especially have you
ever done a March Madness sportsbook?
Speaker 4 (20:51):
I done it once.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
That's so much fun.
Speaker 13 (20:54):
I did it once, mostly because I usually.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
Worked it somehow. But we did it my ask my
wife and I did it in uh in at the
Mirage in Vegas, and that's where she got hooked on
parlay Betty.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
First one free baby, let's go.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
That's pretty much and you get what do you call that?
Pretty much? Three pools? What do you go?
Speaker 3 (21:19):
One arm bannon, let's go, let's let's go.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Just before you go, before you have to get on
the plane. Oh, I knew what I want to ask you.
So the planes were okay, and nothing's been shut down
yet to Vegas as.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
Far as I know. You know, I checked my flight.
It says it's on time, and we're out of here,
you know, straight to Vegas. We don't have to go
through Phoenix or anything.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
So okay, good luck with that. A and the planes
coming back.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
They don't want else.
Speaker 13 (21:43):
I'm going to turn around if I have to stay
a little longer, so be it.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Yeah, that's right, that's right, okay, good okay. So we're
gonna do our picks. Uh that you haven't posted in forever,
But that's okay, that's.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Okay, And I'm not going to. I'm just not going to.
Speaker 13 (21:57):
If you guys want to go ahead knock yourselves out.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
That's how bad it?
Speaker 4 (22:03):
Why should I? Why should I? Why should I myself
post stuff that embarrasses me? Quit?
Speaker 2 (22:09):
That's good, that's good for you, Good for you. Okay,
So here we go. You go first, because God knows
what you're gonna pick, and I hope it's not nothing
of me.
Speaker 13 (22:17):
All right, Okay, So I'm doing this from a little
memory because I'm.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
So walking into the airport. But I'm finally you're gonna
get us set. I'm finally gonna get on the Texas
Tech bandwagon.
Speaker 9 (22:27):
Oh you.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
Give me twenty three and a half to see, yes,
I think, yeah, yeah, And they're at home. So they're
they're you know, watching that whole game last week. They're really, really,
really good.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
We were with you, we were with you, and you
were pulled. I was pulling for Tech and you were pulling.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
For b Yu. Yeah, they're really really good. I mean
what they did to b Yu, I just I just
think didn't think anybody could do that to them. And
I thought, me, why, you was just really good with
a bunch of old guys who go out to and
just win games, and they, I mean, they abused them.
And so I at the end of that game, I said,
I'm picking Texas Tech next week, whoever they play, and
(23:17):
I'm sticking with that.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Okay, So let me tell you we picked the same
team last week. I can't remember who was who was it?
You didn't drink me last week, you drinks.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
We both.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Arizona was so bad that we hit the team on
the same team. Should I go with it? Do I
have enough momentum? I'm not sure. I'm gonna think about this. So,
so my pick is going to be Kansas State. I
think they play Olaha State. I think they play Oklahoma State,
and I don't even know what the spread is, but
I'm going with Kansas State nineteen right now. Okay, so
(23:53):
that's what it is, nineteen and a half. So I'm
gonna go Kansas State over Oklahoma State with the win.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
Okay, all right, I think I know I want to see, Oh,
I'm taking South Florida really tend to maybe, you know,
with what Notre Dame did to them last week, that
just kind of showed me that they just don't have
the athletes, the skilled players and whatnot to compete with
(24:20):
teams that can score a crap load of points. And
Notre Dame just showed that. And I think that, you know,
South Florida is a is a similar team. They can
put a lot of points on the board, and so
they're giving up ten to maybe so I'm taking South.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Florida okay's no best bet, right, nothing yet, no luck,
not yet. God, I don't want to go back and
do some research. I do have a second pick for
that Texas Tech game, but I'm gonna go with Texas Tech.
I want to follow that. I know I'm gonna get
crushed on.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
I'm gonna look, look, I've been better the last two weeks.
All right, I'm not so bad. You can't just assume
that I'm gonna suck.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
But you have you have a voodoo doll in your
back pocket, you have a just put in your front pocket,
and you're going to Vegas. That's another Texas. So I'm
going to Texas Tech too. I'm just gonna go that one,
all right.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Okay, the game of the week is Rams and Seahawks,
so we both have to pick that.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
So one more.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Okay, my third, my third college game, and I think
this is my lot.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Yeah, this is my loss.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
I finally did we call it my picks. I'm taking Utah.
They're giving seven and a half to Baylor. I just
think Utah is, you know, on a roll. They're trying
to get into the playoffs. Not just the playoffs, they're
trying to, you know, win the league. You know, they
got some work to do, but I just think they're
They're at the time of their season where their physicality
(25:50):
and whatnot just stuffs people. And Baylor it's just not
a team that I think they can stand up to them.
So this is my lot. Are Utah mine seven and
a half against.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
I think that's a pretty good pick just because of
the reasons you said. But you always come with good
reasons and they still.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Don't do it, and then they stuck. I know, I
heard you.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
So I was wondering where you're getting your pictu from.
Is this from Jay? Is this Jay.
Speaker 4 (26:20):
Man did a little analysis? Okay, the analysis for the week.
This is what I did this week. I'm taking games
where a team that covers a lot is playing the
team that doesn't cover as much, where there's big gaps
in their in their against the spread records. So that's
what all. That's a piece three picks.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Okay, Okay, So my lock is going to be in
the college side. It's going to be Georgia over Texas seven.
I think seven.
Speaker 13 (26:48):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I'm not a believer in Texas. Not a believer although
he's played well, played well less. Yeah, I'm I'm not
believing every game is the season, Tim, this is gonna
be a tough to.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Stay away from. That was to stay away from me
because I think Jordan's just six and a half. You
never know, right, I think they'll win, but you just
never know how. They just don't like the way they
kept some things close to them. They don't dominate Kams anymore.
Only put it that way. They just kind of win. Well,
So that was I looked at that game, but it
was a stay away from me.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Good good, good good. Georgia is my lock and it's
only six and a half. That's that's a number I liked,
all right, all.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
Right, going over the NFL, I keep taking these guys
and I've won some with them, I've lost some with them.
I don't know what to make of them. Sometimes I'm
taking the Chargers. They're giving three, giving three to the Jags,
but they're they're they're at at Jacksonville, which worries.
Speaker 13 (27:47):
Me a little bit.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
But again, you know, we're getting to a point in
the season where teams got a camp. They can't be
screwing around, you know, and if the Chargers want to,
you know, want to make a run, they gotta start
playing well right now, and I think they're just that
much better than the Jaguars Worts. They do play really well.
They're just gonna beat them. So I'm on the among
the Chargers minus the three.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Travis Hunters out too for the season. So there you go.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Yeah, one many good pros. Two for me Miami, the
Dolphins and not because they beat Buffalo last week pretty
soundly booted by the Commanders, the Commanders because they're playing Commanders.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
You have no idea how close I came to take it.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
Now, dodging bullets, you would have been upset dodging bullets.
Speaker 13 (28:32):
Okay, it came down.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
It came down to between those two teams, and I thought,
I'm only taking Miami because they screwed me two of
the last three weeks. And that's a bad reason to
take them, I guess. Yes, Okay, so Miami because I thought,
because my thought was that they screwed me twice, they'll
screw me again and they'll lose.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
I like and like it. Okay, but are your final one.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
My final one? I'm on the you know, I mean,
I've been on him for for a few weeks. They've
done me well, I think Matthew Stafford is playing for
and not playing for, but he's there's a good chance
he's gonna win the m v P. I think the
Rams are up there as one of the top couple
of teams in the in the NFC started, I mean
(29:18):
in the NFC. I don't know if they would beat
the Eagles in a in a playoff game, but I
think they're really good. And this was a tough pick
because the Rams and the Seahawks. He's a Stafford. You
see the Rams and the Seahawks are both seven and
two against the spread this year. Well you know, see
have been blasting people.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Yeah no, and when they killed the Cardinals last week,
and they're pretty good team. But I'm gonna go with
you and say the Rams as well. So I have
two we have two of the same. So I'm not
gonna go perfect this week.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
I still have to go back and get that stat
to see what what your record is on games that
we both had.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
This it's not that's what clipping.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
I gotta go look that up.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
That's weighing me down. That's what's weighing me down.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
I gotta go. Look, you might be your first place
in the word for that.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
You're right I know that's guaranteed, guaranteed. Okay, okay, so
you have.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Do you have a minute?
Speaker 13 (30:17):
Well, of course, on the game tonight.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Do you see a game that's a tough one, because
I don't know how good? Uh you see? Is I
think Arizona is a favorite, right, like a three and
a half point favorite?
Speaker 4 (30:27):
One and a half?
Speaker 2 (30:28):
I thought one and a half. Okay, God, it's a
big game. I'm surprised about that. I'm going with it.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
I'm taking I'm taking Arizona tonight. Okay, we're gonna get
to watch it over there and and.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
Uh, well remember guys, he's going with the Cats, so
you know what that means.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
Oh man, I guess we're going to fourteenth next week?
Speaker 4 (30:48):
How about that? How about that? How about the end
of you guy hitting that three pointer at the buzz
and clipped game? You know what?
Speaker 2 (30:55):
In fact, you know, I turned around and what was
walking away and you looked at me? This is yeah,
I know, I know, but everybody, a lot of people
talked about that. It was like thirty five, thirty five,
and they were like in the forty and then they
got close and then they kind of covered easy and
then the guy hits a three pointer.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Well, we have to keep ourselves entertained on you know,
conversation on games like that where cats are huge favorite
and they're just winning them, you know, and stuff like that.
So we were watching the spread, and it's funny because
I when they went when I said, they need to
get up enough before the final sign out to cover,
because that's when the that's.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
When the thus scraps.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
And they were up. They were up by forty one.
And remember in like eight seconds and they u scored
six points and was and and was flipping it already,
and then it just went back and Forthacks.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
We always come to play Jay, We always come.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Oh covered the spread. Given that, I think the Cats
tonight they look they're good, you know, they're really good.
I think they've got pieces all over the place, right,
I think we've already seen that. Yeah, you know. Uh,
and then if Aristoll's going to start raining threes from
all over the place, how good can they be? You know?
(32:12):
I mean, I know it's one game, but if he's
got that capability, and if he gets some consistency, I
know he's a freshman, so the likelihood of him being
consistent isn't very optic. But if they got If they've
got that, they're going to be really good. And I
just think, you know, Arizona's a little tough with you know,
having played Florida and that type of stuff. They think
(32:32):
they seem the higher level of competition.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Yeah, I think the first one is sixty five wins it.
I don't know Arizona. I think it's the sixty five.
So we'll see the over unders one fifty three. They'll
play blow past that. I'm not too sure, but we'll
see what happens. I don't I don't have a under
here because I don't know how good we.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Were talking earlier, Jay were about, you know, the kind
of the pageantry of UCLA, U of A back in
the day. You remember those days. Yeah, so we fine
to watch. It's a little too early to get excited
about this game. It'll be it'll look at on TV,
look at on those big TVs and the and the
sports book where you're going to be tonight. It look great.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
No, it'll be fun and we're looking forward to that.
So we'll love your time with that. That was I
don't know you saw it on social media. You've did
a really cool video over the u c L a
oh yeah, Arizona Rivalry with Jason Gardner narrating it. That
was cool, you know. Yeah, they'll give you goosebumps because
we were there for all those games, right, Steve, you
know those things were all cool.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Yeah. Uh we love legacies in the in the video. Okay, Jay,
we got to go.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
In part of them.
Speaker 9 (33:32):
Good luck already, guys, early and go to bed early.

having me. That's good to see everybody.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Well, you used to be my friend.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Guy, I know. And then Jay wants a spot back,
but now he's going to Vegas to lose his money
and you know, probably be better off just giving you cash.
Just you know, it's a year. Just as he's driving
down to the airport, just throwing out the window, I'd.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Be runnen up. We got ready back to if you
always want to call, a perfect time to call five
two oh four one six seventy four forty. J asked
me the question, what do I think. I don't know
about tonight. I really don't know about tonight because to
the easy game that they could lose or they can
blow them up. I just don't know how good UCLA is.
I do know that their style is not conducive to
(38:20):
Arizona's style.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
So they like they play defense, and they like to
slow down, slow down, methoughtical.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
I mean that's been the case, that's been the case
for Arizona's formula to lose for decades. I don't want
three decades.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
Maybe well, I you know, I think I think the
coaches today, Tommy probably likes this kind of game because
you know, you're gonna make it run in the in
the in March. You know, that's what they're coaching for.
I mean, you know, with all this movement, they're coaching
for March. And then so you're going to play all
kinds of teams in March, you better be ready. So
even if they lose, I think Tommy's going to be Okay.
We got to look at this kind of team and
we know what to do well.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
I think your excitement and raised excitement is that it's UCLA.
The name on the jersey right could be Maddie moin Jack,
but it's not.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
It's no, it's UCLA. It's it's Premiere, it's it's elite,
it's one of it's I know it's you know it's
old school, and you know it's it's an old guy game.
But man, back in the day, that was the elite game.
When they showed up to McHale.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Same over there, I mean they didn't, they didn't sell
out many games over there probably, but they did for Arizona.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Yeah, it's a big deal.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
I just remember my first I think a year like
I don't know if I was just living in too soon,
if I had already started going to school yet, but
I just remember that.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
I think it was like the second to last Pac twelve.
It was U C. L A in Arizona in the
in the Pac twelve championship.
Speaker 2 (39:38):
That was great.
Speaker 5 (39:39):
And I think it was Boswell when he was still here.
He hit that three like it was kind of far away,
and I was just like, oh man, okay, I could have.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Been mathing some of the key.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Yeah, the key. I think it was gone already.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Well.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Yeah, because it was the year they lost to Princeton.
Uh okay, which year was that? That happened a couple
of times, didn't it.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
They don't run together year they lost to Princeton. First
Brown Okay, then wasn't it wasn't maybe Bosswell, it could
have been somebody else.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
I think it was Boswell. I'm not all the way sure.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Google it. Maybe you have a you have a Google power.
But I do remember the game. It was a fantastic
It was a great game. Because didn't they play Oregon too?
I did that?
Speaker 3 (40:14):
I think, yeah, they played fin in the Semis exactly.
Speaker 19 (40:18):
Okay, Wow, I would Bettherine. Who else was there? We'll
see Jubella's was still there. I think her CARSA might
have still been there. Actually, I think that was his
last year.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Year.
Speaker 2 (40:30):
That's only two three years ago, three years ago, okay, yeah,
because Clemson was two years ago. Then in Princeton. Okay,
it all runs throw all together.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
Well for you, I mean, how many years have been
covering forty two?
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Feels like it? Uh with the paper nineteen and then
Fox a little tannish and then now kind of not
like in every day that all sports and stuff like that. Yeah,
just you know, but that's my thing.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
And Hayler told me, yeah, it all runs together too.
I mean I had season tickets for a long time,
and it was just you know, he got every game.
I don't just we got them for the run up,
and then the year that they won the national title.
We had had them for years before, and then then
all of a sudden they tripled in price. You know,
(41:20):
it's just like crazy crazy, I know, man. And I
was like, man, we had great seats. We'd sit right
behind the visiting team. I would, you know, NAU would
show up and I'd belling, hey go Peterson Dorm. These
kids look back at me, like, who's this old guy?
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Was he already?
Speaker 4 (41:37):
You know?
Speaker 3 (41:38):
But lude Olsen used to bring I've told you that
he used to bring the U of a team up
to NAU.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
Oh yeah yeah yeah in eighty three were you I
was at NAU.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
So they would come up. They would come up in
the late eighties. He'd bring them up and you know
we'd cheer. You know, Steve Kerr would show up me
playing in the dome, you know, walk up, you know SkyDome.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
The good old days, the good old days, man.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
And now they're playing these games and neutral sites. I
heard you guys talking about it, and it's just like,
you know, you would never play at a walk up
sky down.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
No, no, there's not no, because they pay you guys
to come down here. You are the Washington Generals.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
Yeah, we would lose to them too, probably, and you would,
I would imagine.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
Yeah, yeah, we'll see what happens anything.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Uh, I don't going through right, okay, yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
No, no rush for that. So you see, anybody want
to call five two oh four one, six seventy four
forty let us know what you think about tonight's game,
tomorrow's game. Two.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
Are you watching the game tonight?
Speaker 2 (42:31):
Yeah, of course, home, Yeah, just I'll be tweeting or
whatever they do those kids do, tweeting about.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
The game, getting on the Twitter, and then.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
They're writing a story afterwards.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
Yeah, and then tomorrow you just watching them get.
Speaker 2 (42:43):
In one right, get it up, a breakfast burrito and
watching the game on TV.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
That's going to be a nice run for you.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
I don't miss you know what, I did it for
twenty five years. I don't miss it. I don't get
get it on the plane I did. I went to Vegas,
I went to Duke, and I go to the tournament.
Speaker 4 (42:59):
Right.
Speaker 2 (42:59):
But it's it's not like you know, I'm getting old cranky.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
I'm with you too, man, let me ask you.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
But I see something that's been working like this. Let's
say you getting older.
Speaker 3 (43:10):
I'm fifty nine, dude, you're getting cranky. I'm just so.
I yell at kids crossing the street. Does your mom
know they're in the crosswalk? And I'm yelling at you.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Like, why so you are getting cranky?
Speaker 3 (43:22):
Well, it's because it's dark and I can't see, you know,
And I'm like yelling at him.
Speaker 2 (43:26):
I'm not alone. I don't do that though. I don't
do that.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
It's the old guy side of the studio and then
raised on the this was real. It happens. Man. My
back's hurting and I'm cranky, and you know, people are going,
how's your running?
Speaker 2 (43:38):
I'm like running running. You're talking about running.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
You're getting running shoes, you're spot You're a sponsored athlete.
Now you just last year.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
I have a sponsored sports writer. Last year that show.
There's a bunch of us up there, themost out of
shaped dudes in the world.
Speaker 3 (43:57):
I hope you're walking around the hospital.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
That's funny because you know what I should. There's a
there's there's a path there.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
There's a pink path there you walking the case.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
I failed down. There's a do nut resuscitated on my wallet,
so I'll have to.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
Change change it now, Amy Raymie. Yes, oh well yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's who you hit that big shot? Yeah, okay, yeah,
Oh the internet is slow today. That's that's all. Okay,
I got you. That's the shot. When was that twenty three?
Twenty three?
Speaker 12 (44:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Yeah, don't.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
There are some great games, especially in Vegas Rocked, Rocked
the House?
Speaker 3 (44:37):
How big is I sayed him in Vegas?
Speaker 2 (44:39):
Uh T mobile eighteenish eighteen? Maybe a little bit more. Yeah,
it's fun, crazy crazy games. J MGM, wasn't much more fun. Oh,
some guy says, I'm not cranky, thank you, texture, but
I'm only cranky for certain people.
Speaker 3 (44:57):
It's only to have you. If you have a bright
shining your.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
Please call, don't please interrupt us. Steve since the Arizona
you parreaty talked about this. You don't think yes or no.
Speaker 3 (45:17):
I think we have a shot. I mean as as
much as I watched the Cats play, and but you know,
and then I haven't seen Cincinnati at all. But just
looking at the stats, I mean, you know, if Noah
has has a game and passes and people catch it,
you know, like they're like they're supposed to. Yeah, I
mean they're everybody has. They're all about the same stats.
You know, their quarterback is about the same running back.
Speaker 12 (45:38):
You know.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
Defense, the leading the leading tackler has three sacks with
they have three names.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
I mean it's like when Jeffrey's job is safe.
Speaker 9 (45:45):
It is totally safe. Did they catch the ball when
you throw it?
Speaker 3 (45:52):
Quality? Content?
Speaker 4 (45:53):
Right?
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Give me a percentage?
Speaker 3 (45:55):
Kind of like he said, like do they have a shot.
Of course they have a shot. I'd say it's like
sixty five.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
Okay, that's good, that's good.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (46:02):
My wife wants to watch the game because Travis Kelsey
played at Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (46:06):
Oh that's why. Yes, Oh she's a swifty Yeah, totally
all the swift he loves.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
Yeah, I love Cincinnati and and case like the sixty.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Degrees of separation to be part of the teams.
Speaker 3 (46:18):
She asked, He goes, are you going to talk about
Taylor's team? You mean the Chiefs. Yeah, we'll probably talk about.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
That's funny. In fact, they have a tough game with Denver,
I know, right, yeah, but I think that they have
more to win than than Denver does because they need
to continue.
Speaker 6 (46:36):
To they do.
Speaker 3 (46:37):
They need to win a couple of games to kind
of get to the good and they need to beat
Denver because they're in the same.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
Yeahsal behind the behind them.
Speaker 3 (46:44):
But I like to watch good players. You know, it's
hard to have a favorite team with you know, all
these good, great players. So bow Nicks is fun to watch.
And growing up that was the Steelers, you know.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
I know that you're growing up in granky.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Yeah I still like to watch them. But I live
in Kansas too, so kans City Chiefs, and you know,
I like to watch great players, that's what's fun. But
in my heart it's the Pittsburgh Steelers, you know.
Speaker 15 (47:05):
But I would like you like the quarterback's Steelers.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Yeah, well you know is that.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
He's all cranky? I mean, yeah, I like him and
he's just like, dang it. If you know, like I'm like,
I'm saying, like, if they would just catch the ball,
that'd be okay.
Speaker 2 (47:21):
He's been cranky even when he was young.
Speaker 3 (47:25):
No, it's you know, it's he's a placeholder for something
that's got to happen there.
Speaker 8 (47:30):
You know.
Speaker 3 (47:30):
But maybe if they make a run, you know, they
get in the second round, you know, I think can happen.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
How many terrible towels?
Speaker 3 (47:37):
I have two terrible towels I have. I have a
have a couple of hats and I actually went to
the I know, I have a couple of of uh,
you know, but I can't wear them because they're they're
you know, they're winter hats.
Speaker 2 (47:52):
Well, yeah, the next week you might be able to
was a fast Eddy Parker City present from the south
side of.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
The T shirt. It was I have I have a
T shirt for that, you know, from the early two thousands.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
The bus it was, yeah, the bus was there.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Yeah, Now we went I went to the We Jay
has a group of friends. I have a group of friends.
We went to watch the Steelers play Caroline or something.
And Rodney Pete was the starting quarterback. This is how
long ago this was, right, Yeah, and they weren't very
good but it was you know, it's just the you know,
I grew up in the seventies, you know, and they
were great. The Pittsburgh Steelers were good.
Speaker 2 (48:28):
Who's your guy, Eddie?
Speaker 15 (48:30):
Who?
Speaker 3 (48:31):
Yes, speaking of gambling, I might owe somebody some Money's fast, Eddie?
Speaker 4 (48:39):
Fast?
Speaker 3 (48:40):
Eddie calls. Do not answer the phone. Do not answer
the phone. It fast Eddie calls.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
Who's on the line?
Speaker 3 (48:45):
Down, Eddie? Okay, who's your I'm a Niners fan?
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Are you going to see something?
Speaker 3 (48:56):
I just love the Yeah, yeah, the Niners. And you
can kind of tell I coached high school for a
long time, and you can kind of tell where you
grew up or where you lived. But you know, a
lot of those kids I coached loved New England. They
loved tombrid Oh yeah, because that was the generation and
then our generation there's a lot of Pittsburgh fans and
Dallas fans and then San Francisco's kind of the next
(49:17):
era generation.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
But you how old were you in eighty eight?
Speaker 3 (49:20):
I was twenty two.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
Where were you?
Speaker 3 (49:23):
I was at nau Okay, so Phoenix.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
That's when the Phoenix Cardinals.
Speaker 3 (49:26):
We would go down to games down there, and it
was hard to buy in because they weren't there playing
at Sun Devil Stadium.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
It was hot and it was hot.
Speaker 3 (49:33):
I went I went to like a Tampa Bay game
there and it was like nine hundred degrees. Yeah, we
were sitting in the sun trying and drink beers.
Speaker 2 (49:40):
And it was even in nineteen twenty. It's just even
too much.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:44):
Yeah, and they're not your team.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
They really weren't as fun to have NFL in the
state because you could go to a game and you know,
now I've been. I go to watch a Steeler game
up there every once in a while, and you go
there and there's half the stadiums were in Steeler gear. No,
that's kind of what's great about Phoenix or l leg
or kind of these the crowded, the crowded someplace. That's
the problem with the Phoenix crowd too. I mean there
are half they're not for this. They're not for them,
(50:07):
right Arizona. We talk about this too at the u
of A.
Speaker 2 (50:10):
I mean it's not full because no one really has
that love for them, and a lot of people in
town don't go to the games, are from somewhere else.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
Right now, it happens, you know, it's you know, you
gotta ray watches, you know, the game. And he's a
student here and he's probably gonna be a wildcat for life.
A lot of people are. But it's it's tough if
you don't come from here.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Yeah, and the freak doesn't live here. When once he
gets his degree and he goes somewhere else, how many
times will you come back to to watch a game, you.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
Know, just off the job, just as much as I can,
I guess, but there's not a lot of time. He's
gonna be a sports reporter. He's gonna he's gonna follow,
he's gonna he's gonna work for in the Big twelve.
He's gonna show up once once a season.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
Yeah. I was like, it was a quarterback five and
seventy was quarterback.
Speaker 3 (50:54):
It's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
There's a guy named t mac Yeah, Jacob cowy Man,
those are the good old day.
Speaker 3 (51:02):
I heard you guys talking to Hammer. That's the good
old day.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
Yeah, that guy we didn't have to hit the buzz.
Speaker 5 (51:07):
I was surprised when I was editing the show, Like,
I went back and listened to that part twice just
to make sure I didn't miss one, because he man
that last time he was one.
Speaker 3 (51:18):
Dude, the button couldn't reload fast enough to I didn't
listen to that.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
It was he got a warning before the show, let's
go and come back.
