guy Jason with some bricking news ormaybe not golf. You gotta you gotta
(00:28):
hit that button to be able toplay. The leaded to it. Oh,
I forget it. Let's go on, guys. Okay. The numb
Arizona Men's Golf wislot the gates inthe first day of the Double NTA Morgan
Hill Regional. They finished the dayat ten over par and finished in twelfth
place. UM. The walk Asstarted their first round on the back nine
(00:49):
holes of the Institute Golf Club andthey were able to shoot nine and strokes
better after the turn on Monday.Yeah, and that's that's not a good
start. No again, I thinksome of one of those things were five
teams more. They in California.Yeah, are they? Scots Dale's up?
The girls up? The girls withall men's um. They are in
morgan Hill, Morgan Hill, California, yeah, California. Yeah, yeah,
(01:15):
and the Wildcats currently says for Strokesfine se stayed and five Strokes Shire
California for the Thompson of the leaderboard. Um. Yeah. And then moving
on to baseball, Um, theWildcats had a huge win against number four
Stanford twenty. I'm like, they'replaying football. I hope, I hope
(01:38):
the football game is How long didthat game take? That one? Did
you see anything on that? Ihad to be like a six hour game?
Yeah, probably it was very verywell. This has been the problem.
I've saw them about a month ago, so go. They had the
lead, the loss of lead, the head, the lead, the lots
of lead, eventually lost the game. This time, at least in one
game they didn't lose the game. But I guess, I guess late game
pitching has been a problem. Yeah, well yeah, I pitching. It
(02:00):
has some good starting pitching, butthey just can't hold them. They can
hold I'm gonna I'm gonna look upthe box car for that, because that
that is that is an ugly score. And because they've moved into ninth place
right right, they're trying to getinto into the tournament, into the tournament.
They don't let everybody in so yougotta finish in the top nine,
and they were currently in ninth place. Yeah, Um, Chase David he
(02:23):
actually um catches Nick Fantana fourth fourthmost home rider program history is about what
how many home runs? Um?How many? Uh? Look us fourth
most all the time. But Idon't know that that's so a few.
And also I know because I've beenwatching Twitter with the local kids. I
guess there was the kids for CDEO. What's his name, Martinez? I
(02:45):
can't remember local kids from CDEO who'sdone very well. Yeah, um,
do you remember the name? Iwill give it to you here in the
second Um, it's done very well. And I guess the CHIP has been
criticized for not recruiting locals. Andwith Corona, is that think you know,
I don't think Bryan Peterson had thissin sort of Javier on their Twitter.
(03:07):
I don't know. Um, Okay, that came took four hours and
eighteen minutes. That's crazy crazy theywere It was one inning, believe it
or not, or neither team scored. But you know Arizona had Stanford scored
three in the bottom of the ninthto get a text training Arizona scored three
in the top of the tenth andthen Stanford scored two in the bottom of
(03:29):
the tenth and that was the finalscore, twenty one to twenty ros.
That's it. One collar builds.Yeah, that's it. Johnny on the
spot, Bill, Thank you?Is that guy? Bill? Yeah,
he's in Hawaiian He just kind oftaking a tent aw maybe you know whatever
he is. He's listening to Bill'sLife or Buddy pass from Bill? Oh
(03:54):
god, Okay, okay, Um, the Arizona softball falls to the topsy
to UCLA four three. Um,the kind of seasons over? Yes,
it's over now, Okay, don'tgive you odds. I guess she'll talk
to eventually to the media. Rightwhen do you think? Um, maybe
(04:17):
a bitch by the end of theweek. Okay, kayle though, yeah,
I bet you, I bet youthere will be a meat you know,
I mean, they can't just goaway exactly. What's your question?
I guess your question? What thehell? What's your question? Um?
What you know? What? Whatthe hell covers it? But not I
(04:41):
know, but you know what? What do you think was the key to
you know? What? What when? Sort of what went wrong? Kind
of question? But you gotta wordit differently. Yeah, and then how
how do you fix this? Right? So you gotta figure out how you're
going to ask those things so it'snot such a you know, see,
you gotta you gotta ease them intoit, you know, ease them into
an answer. The journalism. Whenyou look back on your team, Taylin,
(05:02):
what do you think were some ofthe keys to how things turned out
this year? Well, well, you know we didn't do this, we
didn't do that, and we needwe got we're young yeadeah yeah, okay,
Um, pitching, you know what, so much of them talk has
been Yeah, looking into next year, you know what's got to be fixed?
Yeah, well we got pitch better, we gotta do whatever. So
(05:23):
yeah, I figure a ways toask these questions so if they don't just
step on your neck, even thoughsome coach will step on your neck no
matter how you ask them. Sure, I don't think she's one of those.
Yes, Chase Davis had thirty fivehome runs Okay, yeah, fourth
most of all time program history. So UM Arizona Track and Field wrapped up
the twenty twenty three Pack twelve Championshipson Sunday. Um some medals if that
(05:46):
would award at the at the gamewas Tally Bonds. She claimed the victory
in one hundred meter hurdles. Bondsalso finished third in high jump. Any
know she was a high jumper. We had her run the other day even
talk about hid jump. Yeah yeah, yeah, did you see the races,
the h hurdles, hurtles. She'sunbo just girl, wouldn't know what
(06:09):
and then she's particular. She juststop out of the mouth. It's like
yeah, and that's hard to winby a lot in one hundred meter race.
Yeah, and then we gotta havegeist done again. Yeah, because
the dude continues to win. Hewon like six I don't know, or
seven championships. That six or sevenI think I think it's not six.
Yeah. By the way, guysthat I need to help move him,
(06:31):
some rocket can help me. Hedid come move with his folder from his
place. Yeah. Yeah, theUM, I guess mentioning guys. He
also won first place for shot putat the UM at the Track and Field
Championship, and then we had Ithink won the hammer too, right,
Yes, he also won the hammeras well. UM. We had a
lot of people definitely different cases thatone UM, different spots at the championship
(06:57):
games, so a lot of thewalk out showed out. So yeah,
Um, the inaugural Cursor Classic hasbeen to announced that Arizona we'll take on
Michigan stage at the Curse Are UnitedPalm Springs, California, on Thanksgiving the
day. Um the game starts outone thirty pampas at the time, they'll
be tele eyes on Fox following theNFL game between the Lines and the Packers.
(07:21):
Yeah that's another good game. Butyeah, I think so that's that
they were playing. But now weknow that they're point where they're playing with
Alabama and no them, and yeahit should be. It's gonna be a
fantastic schedule. I don't know ifit's gonna be fantastic for the people.
Get well yeah, I mean youknow and and okay, so Arizona's playing
all these teams, so now justrelax. Okay, let's the games play,
(07:45):
get to the tournaments. See whateverwe wait, you ask you,
the fans, verreroso to relax. What's wrong with you? What's wrong with
you? Maybe if we keep sayingthat, they might always have hope.
Okay, Okay. Some national newsa group led by Josh Harris, the
co owner of the NBA philadelf soventySixers and NHL's New Jersey Devils, reached
(08:09):
an increment to buy the Washington Commandersfrom previous owners Dan and Tina Sites neither.
Yeah, that's been in the worksfor ones now it's just been official.
Yeah. So they've made a fishI think like laughs like weekend.
Um. So now as people askhim to, you know, change the
name, change Commanders again, changethe colors. They feel like the colors
(08:30):
are a little different from what theRedskins were, so they want to go
back to those colors and get adifferent name. Time. You sure the
big people happy? I don't know. Man, So to the fighting chance,
you can't do it. You can'tdo it. Yeah. Um,
there is a new record for mostgames seven points in NBA history, Jason
Tatum with fifty one points in thegame seven against seventy sixers. So yeah,
(08:52):
he's like you said, he wenton over, he took over.
Yeah, you went on, youwent on. That's what you need your
starts to do, right, andthat's what you know. Uh certainly what
now what Kevin Durant and Devin Bookerdid in there, you know, in
their in their elimination game with thewith the Nuggets. So that's what you
need. Yep. Former Colts andFalcons quarterback Matt Ryan an now he's he
(09:13):
is becoming a analyst for CBS.It's good to be a quarterback. Yeah,
even when you know being a quarterback, you can be an analyst.
Ton Brady just asked Tom Brady.Yep, so a report. So Giants
Giants running back take on Barkley rejectingan offer worth up to fourteen million per
season um. Apparently he's looking fora offer worth up to sixty e mail
(09:35):
per year, which is what christMcCaffrey is currently um getting. So okay,
don't touch him. Don't touch him, Jay, you messed with his
career. Yeah. I had ChristianMcCaffrey for two years and he was hurt
all the way. Yeah, exactly. So Barkley is saying that, don't
talk to him. I had Jordanspeed tournament before last and he turned out
(09:56):
he's he hurt his risk, he'sprobably gonna miss the PGA slow cruise you
did, yeah. Um. ThenI also had the uh Monty Williams,
who've already got to talk a wholetalk more than Yeah, the Jamrane news,
which you you know, start theshow with. So that was all
my breaking news quarter. Okay,so let's go to a couple in your
neck of the woods, Jay theSugar Scots. So I did a story
(10:18):
on the quarterback, A good kid, great kids as well, from kind
of my area. He went toschool my area and thinking, well,
how did you find this area becauseit's a small town in the actually goo
uh. And then then then Imust have been the kiss of death because
he didn't have a good game.Well, he just he had a bad
quarter, right, he had abad first quarter and you can't I can't
do that. Yeah, you know, they fell behind nineteen to nothing,
had a couple of picks in thefirst quarter, they're down nineteen zempos the
(10:41):
whole rest of the game catching upand spend spend, spend the story because
he went back to where he waslast year, where he had a fanta.
He was at Duke City. Hewas the offensive rookie of the year
last year, came to Tucson.Yes, I'm just gonna say he's been
less than impressive. And it's reallybloody here and over and it's been the
turnovers. You know, he lookslike a very talented quarterback, a big,
(11:03):
physical kid, nice harm um,but he's just had too many turnovers.
And now they after opening with threestraight wins on the road, they've
lost three in a row now,so they're back to you know, they're
they're even. Um. They gottwo home games in a row. They're
gonna have to take care of business. But they got you know, a
couple of good teams coming in,so it's gonna be hard. It's gonna
be interesting to see what they cando. But he looks like a really
(11:24):
good player. But you can't turnthe ball over. You you can't give
up stops, you know, youcan't you give the other team stops like
that. You just I mean,in the end of football league, the
the it's important to score every timeyou get them a few of the mistakes
a bit, and whoever gets themost stops wins. And it's I know
that that's you know, an easything to say. But you can't be
(11:48):
you can't be turning the ball over. And that's exactly what happened. They
could never catch up. They gotit with it. They kept getting within
a touchdown, give up a touchdown, and get another touchdown, and they
just fell too far behind, andthey made a game. He last my
touchdown, but I just couldn't getjust couldn't catch up. So yeah,
and here's another one breaking news.Uh my my colleague forgets. I had
(12:11):
a pretty good story and a funstory at least Sean Elliott. I was
so upset with myself that I didn'tget on that zoom with him. Uh
you know, he graduated. Ijust would like to have had a chance
to talk to him me. Yeah, you know, you know I've seen
him a few times. I've seenso him in a couple of packed off
tournaments, and you know, chattedwith him a few times. But you
know, um, I'm really sadthat I so we're Bruce and I and
(12:35):
then I think he was a coupleof TV guys. So Sean looks like
Sean. He's like twelve, right, he looked he looked at he did
look twelve anymore. He looked likehe's older now. Yeah, and I
don't want to tell him that, but he looked like he's older now and
forever. He's always been that freshfaced game. He's late fifties. Yeah,
he's fifty five, is I think? Yeah? Fifty five And I'm
(12:56):
thinking Sean, what happened? Yefeels like you and me at old You
think he's still dunk. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. He had a
limitation of his memorial shot against thecoyote recently, and no, the duke
could still probably play. But uh, but we're all getting older. And
he kind of his degree, whichis good for what that's so good,
you know, I mean, I'mcongratulations, right, congratulations are shunning out
(13:18):
forget. I'm not surprised it tookthis long. I'm not surprised he didn't
get it. Make a point toget it before his mom passed. Yeah,
right, because he had promised,he had promised, he had promised
me he was going to do that, you know, even after you know,
I mean, that was one ofthe reasons he didn't leave after his
junior year, right, I meanhe specifically told me that, and he
said that, you know, Igotta get my degree and he stayed extra
(13:39):
he didn't get it. So,but you know, circumstances are what they
are. Now that you can dothings, these things online, you know,
more people to go back and dothat. Did you read the stories?
Did you in mind read? Okay, so, Bruce, the one
thing that there's a few things thathe said that was interesting. But he
said, now that I'm older,he's that he's older. He says,
you know what, going to schoolis probably an old person's type of thing
(14:03):
because you thrive to learn and probablypay attention more. As you're older,
you learn more. It's and youappreciate it more. I think I would
be and you, I don't knowif you think this. I think I
would be a hundred times better studentnow, yeah, yeah, than I
was back then. I wasn't awful. I wasn't awful because I did graduating
four years, but you were ina very good student, you know.
(14:24):
I mean, I did enough toget my degree, and that was that
was the max that I you knowthat I could actually listen to him because
you're still paid off, don't don'tyou know? But you know, I
I you know, like I therewas a fair time that I came very
close to going back and getting mymasters, but they didn't let me in.
(14:48):
That's exactly why they didn't let mein. I don't know. And
I asked that question. Hold withthe fifty five year old Sean tell the
young kid. He said, well, I don't know, because now I
know more. But you would tellyou, don't screw it up exactly right,
be more serious, right, Yeah, And I've told that. I've
said that to my kids. Isaid, you know, if you think
you're gonna need to you know,to get something beyond beyond, yeah starting
(15:13):
out, No, don't wait untilyou're done, because and that's precisely why
I didn't get in. You know, I would have had to take a
couple of make basic math classes tobe able to get you know, to
go to go get an MBA.And it was going to take me too
long just to be able to startthe NBA program. So I didn't do
it right. And he was great. Wish I had. He was great.
(15:33):
It was funny, you know,it is Sinnahan. He that I
couldn't make it here. But Ithink that's it, right, I think
that was it for everything. Yeah, Okay, So I've got an answer
from it from on the junal courtissue. Okay, So let's well we'll
take that after the break. We'reafter after we talked to Ken Summers.
But I have an answer, andit's about what you would expect. Okay,
all right, we'll be right backwith Ken Summers talking about Monty Williams.

We have ten summers retire free ancers. So pretty cads enjoying a nice U
actually kind of hot brutal Phoenix afternoon. Uh yeah, not doing too much
(20:06):
today. And you said the retirementwould be fun or no other correspondent and
you're ready for It's been great. It's been great. I've been able to
travel without consulting a sports calendar ora sports editor, so both of those
things have been very nice, sovery nice. And you've got off the
(20:26):
bench. And he wrote something aboutmonkey you said it was kind of surprising.
But I like some of the linesin your in your story that the
will and stuff happens. Yeah, you know, and I think to an
outsider who looks at what the Sun'saccomplished and Monnie's four years and where they
were before he got here. Tothink that they got fired seems incredible,
(20:48):
And I get that, but youknow, you can't lose in the playoffs
like they've lost the last two years. You can't call a whole summer without
talking to your young center DeAndre eightand who you had a very visible disagreement
with in Game seven against the Mavericks. And you know, basically you can't
get out coach from X as anotherstandpoint, and you know in the playoffs
(21:12):
consistently and and really expect to keepthe job. Yeah, but well a
council, I mean, people justsaid he was, you know, Demone
Williams was, you know, agreat guy, somebody you know that you
know, was doing a lot ofgreat things with the players and whatnot.
But so how does that not turninto something or how did it turn into
(21:32):
what it turned into? Right withwhat everybody thought about the guy? Yeah,
I think he got these guys inthis group of guys to a certain
point and couldn't get them to gofurther. Why that is, I don't
know. I know, you know, from a from a strategic standpoint,
his team's always seemed to be reactingin the playoffs rather than dictating strategy to
(21:56):
the other team. And we sawit happened, you know, a couple
of years in a row against theClippers with Tyr and Leu. We saw
it happen, you know, atlast year against the Mavericks, when against
Jason Kidd and the Western Conference semifinals, and and I think you know,
at some point, you know,we all know, you know,
around professional sports, at some point, you know a significant number of players
(22:18):
start to tune coaches out sometimes andthey're not listening and they're not responding.
It's like been there, hurt, this, hurt, this speech a million
times. And you know, whetherit's a conscious thing or a subconscious thing,
I don't know, but I thinkthat's the that's the point A lot
of players were with money. Sono, I totally agree with you.
What would be the number one issueyou think of all the issues that you
(22:42):
kind of so you just spoke aboutand wrote about it, what's the number
one? I think number one wasbeing not being ready to play in elimination
games and consecutive years getting getting blownout at home, you know, against
the Mavericks a year ago, beingdown know what, forty two points in
the first first half against that teamand losing by thirty. And then last
(23:06):
week, you know, basically thesame thing, barely being able to score
in the second quarter and you know, you're you're down by you're down by
thirty and the second half it's justnot competitive. And I get that.
You know, Chris Paul wasn't playingand DeAndre Eighton wasn't playing, but you
know, you can see that theeffort wasn't there. Defensively, it wasn't
a cohesive group. Um. Youknow, I think you've got to be
(23:29):
better than that. And especially inelimination games at home, it's it's embarrassing.
And you know, owners don't liketo be embarrassed. And Sons have
a new owner, Matt Shba, who's you know, anxious to push his
own stamp on the organization and youknow, and that's that's what he's doing
by making this change. Well Iwanted it to go there. Do you
think this change happens if Robert Sarveris still the owner? Uh? Probably
(23:56):
not? Probably not. You know, I think I think Manishby has taken
this organization in a different direction. You know, it's multiple reports have said
he was the driving force behind theKevin Durant trade. I don't know if
general manager James Jones, left tohis own devices, if he would make
that kind of deal. He's hisnerves over the years with the Sons have
(24:19):
been more on the side of,hey, I'm going to create a balanced
roster with a which a bunch ofa bunch of guys who can do different
things, and you know, andhave a deeper team and in a sohat
younger team, so you know, probably probably not, you know, And
I also think, you know, what contributed maybe to Monty Williams being shown
the door was you know, theinability to reach DeAndre Ayton and to get
(24:45):
him to be a better player. You know, I think he had.
DeAndre had shown progress in each ofthe years under Monty, and this year
it was a regression. And especiallywhen Durant came to town. It's it's
like beca more of an afterthought thanhe'd ever been before. I mean,
they never ran place for him.His going to be after a pick and
(25:07):
roll and you know, sort ofgoing to the basket. If Chris Paul
read it, read it that way, and you know, a lot of
that falls on DeAndre eight and two. I don't know if any coach is
going to be able to reach andhe's just up and down and you know,
and after five years in the league, I think you you kind of
are what you are so but butI you know, I think that was
that was definitely part of uh HPMdeciding there needed to be a coaching change.
(25:33):
Yeah, no question. I agreetotally with with with Joshua. He
was only here for a few monthsand we saw that he rarely got up
for games. That was his criticismhere in twenty seventeen when he was here.
Nothing's really changed. In fact,it should be a party played more
defense on a big man against youthan I just had to say that that
(25:55):
was you that right sport or somethingwell you don't do. I think some
of the tuck was either either it'sgoing to be Monkey Leavid or Aden leaving.
Do you think eyten and Chris paulstyI think it's I think Eyton will
be gone. I think they'll finda way to deal him and they'll they'll
trade him and he'll be gone.Chris Paul, It's it's up in the
(26:18):
air. I mean, it's ait's a very top heavy team. There's
not a lot of depth there.I don't know who they would play at
the point if they you know, traded Chris Paul and you know, a
salary is still thirty something million, but only half of it is guaranteed,
so they definitely could could move on. But you know, they may just
(26:38):
run this back another year and think, Okay, if we get Chris Paul,
Durant and Devin Brooker time to worktogether, you know, we're still
in a championship contender. I thinkthat's debatable when you look at the rest
of the roster because you know, their lack of their lack of depth was
really startling um in the series andagainst you know, and against the Nuggets.
(27:02):
So it's a roster that really needsa lot of help, and James
Jones doesn't have a lot of toolswith which to do it. And I
don't know that his job is safeeither. You know, he's he's also
you know, hired by Robert Sarverand and ah. By the way,
Isaiah Thomas has been hanging around mattIshbia and all a lot range sitting next
you mc games, et cetera isinsistent that Thomas isn't going to be part
(27:27):
of the organization. But you know, you'd be naive to think that Ishpa
is not listening to Isaiah Thomas andthat that's that scares a lot of sunstand
because they look at Isaiah Thomas's careerafter as playing days and you know,
there's been basically failure everywhere. Yeah, without question. Um, I was
(27:48):
going to ask you, oh,so you've been I don't know if we've
ever asked you this what I've been? Arrest you this? Okay, you've
been in the valley for forever covera variety of different teams. Now as
a columnist, who which franchise isthe most snake bitten if you will,
because there's been a lot of themand Sons are right there too. Yeah,
(28:08):
snake bitten, I would I wouldsay that. I would say the
Sons because of the franchises here intown, they've been by far the most
well run over the years, exceptfor that ten year period under Server where
they were awful. But you know, when Clanjelo was running things, that
was a class organization and you knowthey were often contenders and just couldn't get
(28:32):
over get over that hump. Therewas always a Michael Jordan in their way,
you know, on the way toa championship. You know, the
Cardinals have been terrible, you know, mostly because of their own indeptness.
The Diamondbacks haven't been very good becausethey've been cheap since Clangelo's spent a ton
of money and they went to achampionship. The Coyotes another organization that can't
(28:55):
get out of its own way.So I would, I would. It's
not even it's not even close.Wow. So if you bring up the
kind is real quick and there's athere's a big election tomorrow to uh,
I think it's tomorrow, right,Yeah. For that Coyotes arena that they
want to build in Temp, whatdo you think is going to happen?
(29:15):
That's a good question. I haven'tseen any holding. It's interesting that the
Temp City Council was unanimously in favorof a city leader. Think it's a
great deal for the city. Theyget a landfill cleaned up out of it.
There's you know, according to them, little to no risk to tax
taxpayers um in making this deal. But you know, Americans increasingly over the
(29:40):
years have gradually said, hey,we're tired of you know, building arenas
and stadiums for you know, billionaireswho own sports teams. You know,
there's not a lot of public youknow, sentiment in favor of that.
So we'll we'll see, we'll see. But you know they do have chance
to you know, build something niceon what's a you know, a landfill
(30:04):
you know, sort of near theairport on the Phoenix tempy border ish um,
you know the thing that would giveme pause? Up, I'm the
city a temp is you know,Alex Morello hasn't been you know, a
shining example of what a great ownershould be. You know, he didn't
didn't pay a tax bill in glenDaley. He stiffed some other vendors over
(30:26):
time he left the city. Butyou know, people who run the city
earlier basically couldn't stand in. Therewas a lot of animosity on their part.
You know, I think that isgoing to give some voters and temp
pause. But when they go votetomorrow, yeah, well nosing stuff.
So so what now, can't umyou know, what do the Suns do?
(30:48):
I mean, are they it?Does? More stuff have to happen
in the front office before it startsto clear for what they're going to do
player wise, I guess is whatI'm asking. Yeah, I think I
think that's the first step. Ithink the first step is, you know
what what what SHBA do with JamesJones is at a relationship that's comfortable because
he trusts James Jones, and asJames Jones comfortable in his role with with
(31:11):
Ishbia and you know, with IsaiahThomas working, and if that's the case,
then they will find a coach.And I think it'll be a coach
with with an NBA resume as ahead coach. I don't think with you
know, Kevin Durant or Devin Bookor whoever. I'm not sure you can
go with the young assistant Ralph who'snever coached in the NBA, you know,
(31:33):
been a head coach in the NBA. So, you know, I
think there's I think there's something tootheir interest in in Tyrone Lieu of the
Clippers. Um if he can getout of his contract there, I think,
you know, Mike Bludenholzer makes alot of sense for this team.
Um so Nick Nurse, you knowwho led Toronto to a title a few
years ago with Kawhi Leonard, youknow, would would make make some sense
(31:57):
that they're looking for that kind ofguy. How much of influence will Booker
and Durant have on this, youknow, because I mean these guys come
and go right, I mean, another guy, I would think a lot,
a lot, and especially especially Booker. You know, he's only twenty
six. He's been through a lothere. You know. I THINKSHBA probably
consulted those guys when he decided tofire money Williams. I don't think he
(32:20):
would have done it if he thoughtthere was going to be any backlash at
all from players, and there apparentlywasn't. But yeah, you know,
that's the way sports works these days, you know that. You know,
even in the NFL, you know, as if there are a lot of
zero, there's a lot of zeroson your paycheck. You're you know,
you're you're going to have a sayand who the next head coach is going
(32:40):
to be and that, And thatmakes sense in the NBA because we've seen
what happens when players aren't happy witha coach. It just all falls apart
rather quickly. Well kept, it'sreally hot summer in Phoenix. I know
you will be there forever. Areyou to become a snowbird? Do you
think you got somewhere to go outsideof Phoenix, you know, for the
summers or gonna do. Yeah, yeah, you know, my my wife's
(33:01):
family is from the Salt Lake Cityarea, so we go up there quite
a bit and uh in the summer, so I'll probably uh get out of
town. And you know, souh probably do. I've got to find
a way to get out of herein a good part of tune. AND's
why ye will canceling. Just twothings to say to you, Will said,

Okay, so we must we kindof let this because it's happened way back
at the end of last week whenwe were doing our show. But um
(38:14):
Jade Delora's attorneys UH issued a statementregarding the whole thing about the sexualication from
the about the sexual assault, thelawsuit as well as as well as the
juvenile case. And so let meread the statement and then I've got some
stuff for the You know, ourlegal experts that we have people who trust,
(38:35):
can trust yet so the statement fromfrom from Delora's attorney. Reports from
certain media outlets involving Jade Delora areinaccurate and have inflicted unnecessary dress and reputational
harm to numerous individuals and entities. The allegations against Jaden stem from when he
was a junior in high school,a minor, and we're handled in the
family court under Hawaii law. Therecords and files and gennal cases are sealed
(38:58):
and all parties are prohibited by lawfrom releasing them or we are unable to
release details of the case. Isimportant to correct misinformation that has been reported
or we can share, is thatreport that Jaden pled guilty and was convicted
of sexual assault are not accurate.Further, when the civil lawsuit was brought
well after the general matter and familycourt concluded, Jaden chose to resolve it
quickly with no admissions of guilt,so he could focus on his academic and
(39:22):
athletic career and all parties could moveforward with their lives without the stressors of
a lengthy litigation process. So youhad the girls attorney or not. The
attorney in the in the lawsuit againstJade de Lawyer said that he and the
other player pleaded guilt just sexual assaultin juvenile court, and James De Lawyer's
(39:45):
lawyer saying no, he did not. So somebody is either incorrect or just
flat outline, right, I mean, that's we have to conclude from that,
right. So, um, youknow the question we had is you
know, the only way you're goingto settle this, the only way will
know as if the junal court recordsare released. And so one of our
(40:07):
legal experts said, at least inArizona, and they think that the same
applies in Hawaii. That you cannotget into juvenal court record filed. You
cannot get into jingal court files withoutthe express written order of the court.
You would need to file a petitionidentifying the documents you're seeking, the reason
(40:28):
the documents are material to whatever taskyou are pursuing, signing the legal authority
that supersedes the court order or statutesealing of the documents. So I'm actually
saying, even if all the partiesagreed or unseal the documents, the courts
still have you stop to petition thecourt, and the court has to say
okay, which is unlikely to happen, and says it is not easy to
unseal documents, especially juvenile court. But it's okay for them to talk about
(40:52):
it. Well, according to theaccording to the statement from Dolores attorney,
they're not he said, but hejust denied that they plied guilty. They're
talking about it, right, hesaid what he said? How we're unable
to release details of the cage?He sails, yes, but they're still
talking about it correct misinformation which they'resaying that he played. And that's the
(41:15):
next question I've asked for our guys. So how much can you talk about
documents that have been sealed? Sayingone party is saying guilty, which he's
not supposed to say, and thisparty is saying not guilty, which he's
not supposed to say. Yeah.Yeah, one party said he pleaded guilty,
one party said he didn't. Somebody'snot telling the truth knowing to talk
about it, right, right,So what can you what can you say?
(41:37):
You can say somebody or how muchcan you right, so they can
talk about finance, okay, sothey can talk about it. That's who
do you believe? Yeah? Soyou know and and I mean the question
is, you know, let's let'ssay, okay, let's say you know,
based on the on the on thecivil lassit okay that there was some
(41:59):
sort of money admission, okay inthe juvenal court record. But maybe the
lawyer's lawyer can say, well,we're gonna say we didn't because nobody can
go in nobody can go into thefile and know that, and so we
throw some doubt as to whether ornot or on the other side, you
(42:19):
know, yeah, you made thisclaim in a civil lawsuit because you know
that nobody can go into the fileand verify that. You know, so
some who who's saying something because theyknow that the actual information can't come out
because the case to seal. Andhere's the problem, because we don't know
the toothpises out of the tube. And we assumed whether incorrectly or incorrectly or
(42:45):
you know, increctly or correctly aboutJayden right now, he has that with
him, right, start hanging onhim no matter what, right, good,
right, no matter what happens, even if some I mean even if
they put even if they release thejuvenal court record, there's gonna be some
people who don't see it or don'thear about it and say, I think
that he, you know, wasguilty of keeping another example, it's not
(43:07):
even close to this, but hokay, so back five six years ago
when he was playing the senior yearsyear one year and Sean was still the
coach, he got grief about onehundred thousand dollars, right, and people
still believe he got it, stillexactly this day, and he denies never
got it. And then nobody's everfound a record, but he did direct
to that degree. You know whatI'm saying. It's not to this degree,
(43:28):
but it's still out there where No, it's a it's a similar thing
again, Steve, I mean howmany you know? I mean I covered
a million of these, not amillion, but you know somebody's case where
you know, there's a divorce caseand one wants to get it the other
and so somebody says the dad's achammelain. Yeah, no matter what happened
somebody that there's gonna believe that thedad was fil Yeah, we see him
on dayline all the time. AndI don't mean to make to make light
(43:52):
of it, no, but thatthat's a tactic that people, you they'll
they'll make the making accusation knowing thatno matter what, once I've made that
accumulation, some of it is goingto stick somewhere no matter what, you
know. And you know, nomatter what the media does. Let's say
all the media comes out and saysJade delora Is, you know, did
(44:15):
not believe guilty, there's still gonnabe people out say, you're gonna believe
that, I know, very unfortunatethat's admitted that he committed this sexual assault,
no matter what. No, veryvery very unfortunate. And it's a
it's a you know, and it'sa tough thing. And especially in this
day of you know, social media, where everybody's got a platform and whatnot.
You know, uh, you know, the the the attorneys for the
(44:39):
alleged victim, you know, putsomething out and now there's a certain segment
of people who are going to believethat no matter what. Yeah, but
then you know, then you youyou you pile on top that Dolaura settled
with with the girl, gave herwhatever money he had to give her.
We know was at least forty thoudollars because it was the lawsuit was handled
(45:02):
at a level of the court thatdoesn't handle cases for less than forty thousand
dollars, so you know, wasat least that um And you know,
people say, well, why didhe get rid of that if he didn't
do it, you know, andhow many times have people done that?
You know, I just want thisto go away and here's money and go
go leave me alone. But youknow there's gonna be people who believe that
(45:25):
as well. Yeah, no,it's such a saying it's unfortunate. Uh
he said, she said, thisis what's been done. So tough case,
you know. And again we're notsitting here saying that this didn't happen.
We're not saying that there isn't avictim in this. All we're saying
is what's happened for after the factis he has created some uncertainty about what's
(45:45):
the truth, right because we don'twe don't really know the truth. We
think we might know it, butwe're not sure that we know it right,
Okay, okay, anybody want tocall me up seven minutes please do
just whatever it is you want.About five minutes too long for Can we
(46:07):
just go home? We already didthat for three days. We'll be here
the rest of the week, butI'm pump But next week we're gone for
a minute Memorial weekend. So beprepared for some absence next weekend because I
know I'll be gone. You'll begone after that too, right, you're
leaving. I'm out, I'm surethirty first to June six, Yeah,
(46:27):
week so, and I'm not youknow what, I'm just gonna tell you
right now. I am not doingany any portion of the show from Rocky
Point. Okay, Yes, you'renot posting anything. I'll do it.
I'm gonna post that stuff. I'mjust not gonna come up. Oh no,
no, no, you gotta enjoythis. You gotta get more dark.
I gotta get my summer color.R Yeah. Here I got an
answer from one of our again, one of our legal experts, regarding how
(46:51):
much can you okay say, Sezdon't know the answer, and I'm unsure
whether there is a sanction for thepurported improper disclosure of a Sea juvenile court
record, particularly in Hawaii. Sobasically he doesn't know. They don't know.
But because we do know that thereare different rules insurance. As you
mentioned, had the Laura been convictedof a sexual assault or accused of a
(47:14):
sexual assault in Arizona, that casewould have been handled an adult court,
not in jennal court. As hewas sixteen years old when this happened,
so it would have been automatically movedto adult court, which everything might have
been different there. So that's allwe have. Hey, look man,
we're providing a good legal, uhinterpretation of all of this only at I'm
(47:36):
the ball read that on a Nickels. But no, that's good because people
have questions. People look and whetherthose there are people who want to know,
I mean fans want to know, and that fans are going to decide
whether than that they're ready. Lauren, Look, this is the weirdest thing.
So I'm I'm Channel Sor and Icome across the last five minutes of
(47:59):
the is on a football game thisyear, Yeah, you know, and
I put it on and I lookedat Jake Delora differently then I did you
know? You did? I justI just like god, I just went
this was after this came out, right, do you have a already knew
(48:20):
about the lawsuits and stuff like that. I'm looking at me like I just
saw him differently than I did before. We didn't know any of this.
That's human nature. I get off. You know, I'm like, am
I rooting for him? Am Inot? Yeah? Well, you were
there with me and some of theother guys for the Spring Priest springing,
right, he was sitting there. He had been weight, he's looking for
the year, and everybody's rooting forultimately very much, very positive. You
(48:45):
know, I don't think it's gonnachange. I mean, he's your baby.
Change for some people. Oh no, no, no, no,
no, hey, I don't doubtthat it's going to change a lot.
We can or should treat him differentlyin terms of, you know, totally
ask him, you know, totalin the end, we still got to
ask him about football and stuff likethat. And nobody's gonna sit there and
(49:06):
you know, rip rip on himat every press conference or stuff like that.
But I think we'll look at himdifferently. Yeah, no question,
I think we I think we solvetheir problems full for them. Just get
it out there, get it donewith mon We're done. That's what we
said. R yeah doing. Idon't know if they're going that's advice.
And again how much can he say? Right? I don't know how much
he can but say it, butsay but say that you can't say it
(49:29):
right? You know what I'm sayingis what does this move on from that?
Ye? Anything you will you havewith Jason on top of your head?
Go nuggets? Yeah, let mego nuggets. So Jay, you're
not allowed to touch the game. That's seriously, you know, I am,
I know you are. How manygames do you think it goes?
Six? At six games? Howmany games do you think it goes?
(49:51):
Jay? I'm thinking game the game? You know what? I honestly I
think it's the seven games series seven. I really do, because because the
Lakers are playing really well, AnthonyDavis has decided to show well yeah,
um Lebron, Lebron can taste it? Right? Another one? Another one?
You know there's still people out theresaying, well, are you you
(50:13):
one win with the Lakers in thebubble? This one's not you know,
go go in a real one.Isn't it also funny? Here's that?
Isn't it also funny that the fourteams in the Eastern and Western Conference finals
with the same four teams, thebub bubble is crazy. So that narrative
that it was the bubble is easierin a weird year where the Seeds look
at the Seeds, but Boston's ball. The Nuggets are number one, yeah,
but the other the whole year hasbeen kind of crazy exactly, and
(50:37):
the Lakers are seven, Like, does never happen about the heat get a
seat? I never heard about him? Shot. I think they will make
it a competitive series, but they'relosing I think six games, but I
think I make a show. Tellme the Nuggets serious, mister, So
I think Lakers winning six Lakers andso okay, so are you feeling someone
(50:58):
on? He don't look who theNuggets of play to get to the conference
finals. Gotta be honest. Thedismember Wolves like like the there was the
dotal competition matters right, then hehad the Sons with no depth, right,
and then rush of the Lakers Warriors, and then um Memphis. Right.
You know Janet Jacksons Junior Defensive Playerof the Year. You know Clay
Curry, You're in a Draymond rightaggress Draymond so like I thought the Lake
(51:22):
is more battle tested than the Nuggguitar. So like you just punched him
in the I'm actually wrong, youknow, could the Nugets and six five
way you could be wrong? Youare wrong? Yeah, that's my king.
I do like the way you cananalyze that. You look. I
try to be I trying to beon buy when he said that, I
looked at you, and you lookedlike somebody just I just I don't like
(51:44):
young people, young people who aresmarter than nature. Wrong. Yeah,
he's my two sons on it.Well, give you another recording. Yeah,
I think the Nuggets and I thinkthe Nuggets are the best team just
(52:06):
from what I've seen. Yoki isjust like he's no one talks about this
reason why no one talked about him? And I told you this months will
ago when I talked to him andthen Murray, Yeah before the last two
three years when he was hurt,no one, Oh, dinner is gonna
be Denner and no faith? Right, Well he's back, yeah, he's
healthy. Yeah, and then Porter'sbeen good. They've got to cast the
characters and they won a lot ofgames for a reason they did. Yeah,
(52:29):
I mean, no one talked aboutThey are, you know, record
wise, the best team in theleft in the playoffs. Yeah, they
should be, fam that's the wholething. Yeah, there's gonna be four
games and Denver goes to seventh. But the Laders are awesome. And if
he did at home, so andthey've you know, one road of games.
So Jack Nicholson, all right, man, let's get out of here.
Yeah, all right, hey,Jason, thanks a bunch of course.
(52:51):
All right, man, we'll seeeverybody tomorrow, all right,
