The Jubile Show on Demand.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
First Day follow Up.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
Nadine is on the phone today for a first date
follow up, and she's being ghosted by a dude named Gabe.
So we're gonna see if we can figure out why
and maybe get her another date if she still wants one. Nadine,
thank you for your email and agreeing to do the
first date follow up. Before we get into your dat
and stuff, how long has it been since you heard
from Gabe.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
It's been a pretty long time, maybe just like a
week or so.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
What was the date?
Speaker 4 (00:27):
Like? It was literally perfect.
Speaker 5 (00:30):
We had the best time. Everything was in line we have,
you know, we both have German shepherds and everything, one kid.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Everything great. We had drinks and it was just such
a good vibe. So I really thought it was something special.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
You guys even match dogs. Yeah, that's when you know
I was going to say, yeah, it's meant to be.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
That was some universe stuff there for real.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Okay, Well, tell us a little bit about your date.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
So we went to you know, just get drinks and food,
and we played guards and lots of games, and you
know I did beat him.
Speaker 6 (01:09):
At all of them.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
I can't not. I have to, so Yeah, so we
just talked about our dreams.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
You know, he was really sensitive and nice and I
felt like we just had the conversation just flowed, which
is super important.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
And he made me laugh and again that's like my
number one thing. So yeah, so it was really fun
and you know, I kind of wanted to wind down,
but you wanted to keep gun, which I thought was
a good sign.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
So then how did the date end? Were you guys
like kissy or like anything like that.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
Yeah, definitely like flirty, touchy kissy. So that's why again
I thought I was.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Like so sure, I was waiting for a text for
him from him or something, you know, like right afterwards,
but literally nothing, just silence, and so I thought things
were going so good. So I was so surprised when
I didn't hear anything. And I don't know if I
did something.
Speaker 7 (02:01):
That's the worst.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
I don't know if I did something or heat or
what's going on, but you know, that's the worst. I'm like,
what can I have something different?
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Was there anything that you think could have been why
he's not calling you back?
Speaker 2 (02:14):
They did anything kind of strange happen?
Speaker 4 (02:16):
I don't know. Maybe again, like I did beat him
all the games.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Sometimes you know, the guy's ego could be hurt by that.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
We have had that happen on first date, follow us before,
where that's the problem and it's like.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Calm down a little bit. Yeah, I don't care.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
If she was the love of my life, she'd beat
me at ski ball twice.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
Someone loved skeball.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Okay, So other than that, is there anything else that
happened that you can think of that would be a
reason that he would ghost you?
Speaker 4 (02:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
Maybe I you know, like I said, I was kind
of getting I'm kind of a homebody ish, so maybe
that's I was like over it, so like not over
the date, but just like.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
I was, like, I thought it was a time.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
To go home, but again he wanted to be going
so maybe that was something, you know, like there wasn't
really much silence or anything, So that's why I was confused.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Could you have wanted something more rather than just like
y'all separating at the end of the night.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Just ask her? Do you think he wanted to smash.
Speaker 7 (03:19):
About that?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Writing it a nice way?
Speaker 4 (03:23):
You know, I don't usually do that, So maybe he
was thinking something else is going to happen. But you know,
I was looking for something like long termish and.
Speaker 7 (03:31):
I'm older now, so definitely I thought.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
He was looking for something more serious.
Speaker 7 (03:35):
So I thought, you know, that was happening, but.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
You guys could be right.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Well, we'll see if we can figure it out.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Play a song, come back, call him, and then try
to find out why he's ghosting you, and maybe get
you another day if you still want one.
Speaker 7 (03:45):
Okay, all right, perfect, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
We'll you'll get your first day follow up right after this,
right in the middle of your first day follow up
if you're just joining us. Nadine is on the phone
and she's getting ghosted by Gabe. So we're about to
get Gabe on the phone and see if we can
find out why he's ghostinger and maybe get her another date. Nadine,
before we call him, refresh everybody's memory on your date
with Gabe.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
Yeah, so we went out. We had a really fun time.
Everything was going super great. We clicked, We talked the
whole night.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
He wanted to keep the night going even if I
was a little tired, and I would play a lot
of games and it was super fun. But I haven't
heard from him since, so I'm wondering why.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
And the only thing you can think of is maybe
his ego was bruised because you beat him at some
of the games, or maybe he was just trying games.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah, so who knows that he thought we didn't mesh well,
so we're there's a lot of different scenarios, so I'm
overthinking it.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Maybe, Yeah, definitely, that's what we all do, though.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
I know.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
We'll call him right now then and see if we
can figure it out.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Here.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
We are you ready?
Speaker 6 (04:47):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Thank you?
Speaker 6 (05:00):
Gabe.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Hey, Gabe, what's up? This is Jewbil. My name is Nina.
I'm here with Jewbil and Victoria.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
Hi. Who are you guys?
Speaker 3 (05:09):
It's a good question. It's a radio show called The
Jewbell Show. There's three of us on the phone with
you right now. Okay, we're calling you because we got
an email about you from one of our listeners.
Speaker 6 (05:19):
Oh okay, what are we doing?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
So we do a segment on the show called the
first Date follow Up. That's where if you go on
a date with someone and end up ghosting them, that
person can email us to get you on the phone
and ask why. And we had an email about you
from Nadine. You went on a date with her, and
then it's been over a little over a week and
you have not contacted her, and she wants to know
if you'll tell us why you're ghosting her.
Speaker 6 (05:46):
Yeah, short version.
Speaker 8 (05:49):
I mean, Nadine was great, Okay, I had the best
time with her.
Speaker 7 (05:55):
And here's the deal, and I didn't Yeah, yeah, it
was it was great.
Speaker 6 (05:59):
I mean we did, we have the same talk, you
know what I mean. It's crazy. But the thing is this, and.
Speaker 8 (06:06):
I didn't tell her this because I just wanted to
go out and have a nice night. My job sending
me overseas right this fall, I'm going to Europe. I'm
going to be going for a year, could be more
depending how it goes, and I'm really excited about that.
But I just, you know, like I had an amazing
time with her, and I mean the thing, I didn't
(06:27):
know how to handle it because I didn't want to.
Speaker 7 (06:29):
I don't want to start something.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
I can't finish. I don't want to do long distance.
Speaker 7 (06:33):
And that's basically what happened there.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
She being wife zoned sounds like she's being wife zwned.
This is a new term that we heard.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Basically, when a woman is amazing and you just can't
do it.
Speaker 6 (06:45):
That sucks, that's right.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
But it doesn't sound like.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
You're wife zoning her based off of like what you
would want, right, Like, It's not like you're.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Like, bro, she's just way too good. I can't disrespect her,
so I'm not going to date her.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
No, no, No, it is a.
Speaker 8 (07:00):
Timing thing, right, you know, Like I'm I mean, in
the next couple of months, I'm gonna start getting ready
to leave.
Speaker 6 (07:06):
I'm leaving, you know, I'm leaving the country for over
a year.
Speaker 7 (07:09):
Yeah, So it's just it's just straight.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
Up timing and I and I don't want to and
I don't want to, you know.
Speaker 8 (07:14):
Fall madly in love with this person and then didn't
shut off the Europe for eighteen months.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Yeah, I mean that would be tough. If you just
start a relationship and you're really into them and then
you have to be gone for that long, that would
be hard.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (07:27):
I mean I did something like this in the past
and it did not work out well Ride Rods, and
I don't want I just said to myself when that happened,
I'll never do it again, you know, because it was
so great, and because the situation is I didn't know
how to handle it.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
So, to be honest, I'm sort of glad you guys called.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
I feel like I've been in a situation like this
before too. And then not talking to them is the
easiest way because of temptation, really, and so it's just
better to avoid it altogether because then you can just
try to shut it off in your head and move forward,
which sucks, yes, but it sometimes is the easiest thing
to do. Yeah, yeah, but I mean protecting everybody seriously,
because I mean, I know, for me, I would be like, Okay,
(08:06):
I'm gonna get together and talk to her, and then
before I know it, we'd be in a relationship and
I'd be gone.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
This is terrible. Why did I make that decision?
Speaker 4 (08:13):
Right?
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Thank you gave for being honest. Appreciate that I should
have said them to her.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
You know, that's the truth. She was.
Speaker 7 (08:21):
Yeah, but like you said, it's easier to do this,
and and.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
I'm in a couple months out of here anyhow.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
I mean, you did tell her, you know, yeah, you
did tell her.
Speaker 6 (08:31):
What do you mean I did?
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Well, yeah, you did.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
But she's on the phone and it's been listening this
the whole time and wants to talk to you.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Oh, I mean hey.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
I.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Yeah sexual, Yeah you could choose the darts. Yeah you would.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I wish you would have told me, I mean, yeah, definitely,
a long distance isn't something that I would want, so
call me.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
You know, I could have at least had some better expectations.
Speaker 6 (09:09):
But other than that, you.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Know, I'm glad. I know it's nothing I did.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
No, it is totally not you, you know, like this is.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
You're amazing, you know.
Speaker 8 (09:19):
I it's been a minute since I've been out and
I haven't connected with somebody like I connected with you
in a real long time. And I yeah, I if
the situation were different, if I wasn't leaving the country,
no one could stop me from seeing you again, you know.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
And well it's true, I haven't it's been a long
time and I haven't met someone. I mean, she's maybe
he was wonderful and perfect in every.
Speaker 8 (09:49):
Way, and that's not something you expect when you just
you know, So if you be open, I mean, if
you're still available when I'm back, I would love to.
Speaker 6 (09:59):
I would love to hit you up.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Okay, yeah, I definitely would love that too, you know.
Or like I said, it was a good date that
would be perfect and hopefully you know timing will be
right then.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Are you sure you guys don't want just a couple
of nights?
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah, you know, like before he goes away, to make
sure that this is something that you want to.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
That is a great idea, you know, Hey, Nadine, would
you like to go out with Gabe for a weekend
that a hotel will pay for it?
Speaker 2 (10:24):
That's your next date?
Speaker 4 (10:26):
Yeah, definitely pay for it.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
I'm there right, Well, we'll pay for it for real.
That'll be your next date, Like spending the weekend together
and see what you think. We gotta ask Gabe though
he put the heart.
Speaker 9 (10:39):
Well, I mean so, I mean, look, you only live once, right,
so I I I'd love to. Yeah, you're picking up
a hotel tab and we're going out for the weekend.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
Yeah, you know, I.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Just don't put a baby in years at that point.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Well, congratulations, have fun at least and let us know
how everything ends up for you guys.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Okay, well thank you so much. Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Now, if this isn't as a lesson in not ignoring
the universe, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (11:15):
