and Dublin for the you that aremathematically challenged. It is on the east
coast of Ireland. Pleasant drive overearly in the morning, well it actually

it was later afternoon when we gotthere. We'd gone down to the K
Club And if you don't know theK Club, you don't know you ride
a cup history because we got toplay the K Club earlier in the day
that hosted the Rider Cup back inthe day, and of course the K
Club is home to to Arnold PalmerCourses. Then we went over to the
beautiful, aspiring, majestic, magicalwith fairies. What did I tell you

about fairies running around? Yes,mystical Irish fairies messed with my camera equipment.
Kaleen Castle is just amazing. Itsnamesake, the Kaleen Castle was built
in the eleven hundreds, eleven andeighty one. I believe we're going to
talk to the head pro and directorof hospitality, which means funds, drinks

and laughs and guinnesses Cormick came outwith me on the golf course for the
Golfing Around TV show, which isbroadcast on massive mid Atlantic Sports Network Sunday
mornings at nine point thirty, andwe went out and we pounded the ball
around the course and I filmed thebeautiful, beautiful Jack Nicholas golf Course with

Cormick. The castle is the hallmarkof the property, the foundation, the
bedrock of the property. It stirsthe imagination to think back to eleven eighty
one again. If I'm off fora year or two, forgive me about

one. How they built the castlejust amazing. Secondly, just who's been
in the castle throughout the years.I mean who paid for it first to
get built, what laird, lordof the manor what night owned the land.

I do not know these things.I just know it is beautiful as
machiastic And soon within the next severalyears. When we talked to Karen Collins
here a little bit later in thissegment, she's going to tell you how
about the Colleen Castle, just outsideof Dublin is being completely gutted and renovated.
She took us on a wonderful tourendside, and soon it will be

home to a beautiful, beautiful hotelwithin the confines of the Kaleen Castle.
But the Jack Nicholas signature course hereat Kleeen Castle's what you've come for,
at least to this episode of theGolfing Around. They've got this incredible statue
of Jack on the first tee toguide you down the fairway. It is

remarkable. I think it stands aboutten feet tall. We took the Team
USA picture in front of the Kleenstatue of Jack Nicholas and it's right there
on my wall right now I'm lookingat it. It's very special, and
whole number one is very special aswell. As you head down the fairway

to the left and it's not therefor eye candy. Is this massive,
massive fairway bunker trap area that isthe hallmark of the course, besides the
Khaleen Castle itself a shamrock, amassive should ask Cormick how big it was

yardage wise, I don't know.Forty yards by forty yards four leaf clover
in the middle of the bunker,in the middle of the fairway and it
does catch balls. It's not justthere for eye candy. And that's how
you begin your glorious round at theklean Castle. Hole number one, the
t box shot with a Jack Nicholasstatue behind you. The ancient castle of

Khaleen Castle, watching sentinel over thewhole property. And what a wonderful way
to begin this wonderful journey on thiswonderful Nicholas Parkland course. Let's go ahead
back to Ireland now in April andlisten to Cormick and I on the first

tee with the castle behind us atKhalil Castle just outside of Dublin, Ireland.
All right, well, nobody betterthan the director of golf and hospital
hospitality. Well how can you not. It's Ireland. Golf and hospitality go

together. Yeah right. You gottahave your golf ball, you gotta have
your Guinness, you gotta have yourgolf ball, you gotta have your Jamison.
See how they don't go linked?They do? Can I work for
you anytime? I think I can? I think I can. You know
the ancient Kleeen Castle behind me wasbuilt in eleven eighty one, originally eleven
eighty one. Come back a fewyears, a bit, a bit,

a couple of years before you runit. Yeah, just a bit talking
about ancient not only me but thecastle as well. Let's get to the
good stuff. Let's get to JackNicholas, his statue behind us. I'm
a Jack fan. I love whathe does on a course, tends to
leave it a little bit open.Then what I've always seen is he puts
you to work on The green complexis still true today, pretty similar out

here. So he's always got apretty fair design off the tee. Let's
he get away and when he wasopening here in twenty eight he did say
it was probably one of the toughestsecond shot golf courses he designs. So
it's pretty typical of a Nicholas signaturecourse. Fair off the tee, deep
bunkers, underlaying greens, tough,challenging golf course, but there's a tea
for everybody, and there's a golfshop for everybody out here. Yeah,

very much. So okay, soof course you've got Jack and signature holes.
Signature holes here at clean Castle.You probably have to whittle it down
from eighteen to a select four,which is difficult. The castle of course
behind us adds well the ambiance toeverything, but it is the green complexes.

It is the poorch bunkers that makeeverything well worthwhile. What are signature
holes. It's really hard to narrowit down to a feud. There's eighteen
great golf holes out here, andour first solo is a really good starting
and open hole. We've got ourshammerck bunker down the left hand side that
challenges everybody to get over it,and that's a really good opener. Eighteen

is obviously just iconic coming up tofinish up in front of the eight hundred
and forty year old castle. Twelveis my personal favorite. It's a par
five over reclaimed stone of a fairytree on a beautiful golf hole. A
fairy tree. What in the worldis a fairy tree? Not a cherry
tree. A fairy tree. Afairy tree is. It's got a home
in old Irish mythology and as itgoes, fairy tree is not to be

touched or damage or it brings alifetime of bad luck. So Jack is
idears is only the golf hole.There's a small fairy tree set just about
thirty yards short of the green.He's sitting out said, it's a whole
looks great shaping. It's going,well, gotta lose the tree, guys.
We got to get rid of thattree. And everyone around is in
Jack. It's a fairy tree.It's a lifetime of bad luck. It
said gotta move the tree. Ijust gotta go. It doesn't fit.

So the set of keys we're handledup to. Jack. If you want
to move that tree, be myguest, right, And I take it
he did not sensitive. Yeah,I'm not messing around with a faerry tree
by any means. My backswing isbad enough. I don't need fairies cursing

Cup have been played at Killeen Castle, that ups the pedigree, Oh,
it absolutely does. So we hostedit in twenty eleven. Europe won that
year as well, which was alovely edition. But Killeen Castle was actually

chosen as a venue for the twentyeleven Cell Hand Cup before construction had even
been completed, so that was testamentto the product, to the championship golf
course that that was going to beshowcased to host an international pedigree tournament like

So in addition to the Slheim Cup, we've hosted Irish Opens, PGA events,
wow, and we're looking forward tohosting the Challenge Tour in twenty twenty
five which was just announced. Sothat's a major coup and that's the next

Randy. I love it. Ilove it, you know. And that's
the thing. They're not stuck inthe past. While in the eleventh century
hearing Klleen Castle by any means makingimprovements, making improvements all around the property
constantly. You know, the castle'sbeen here since the eleven hundreds. But
guess what down the road you yourselfcan come to Kleean Castle in Ireland and

guess what you could be a nightor a damsel in distress and stay in
the beautiful castle. That is theplan. That's there's the all has been
