reputed renowned and world famous for beingthe world's worst golfer. Yes, folks,
I petition to u SGA, theUnited States Golf Gods, for a
(01:40):
special dispensation to add a handicapped flightof thirty seven and above. I got
a letter back said, please donot bother us again or the authorities will
be called on you. Mister Tantlinger, I was an appreciative the fact of
the USGA golf gods referring to meas mister most of the time. I
(02:05):
don't get that. I get villageidiot. Go away. Hey, you're
listening to Golfing around. Appreciate youtuning in if you listen to the show
regularly. If you don't, thenwell buckle up, buttercup, because this
isn't your average golf radio show.Show show show by no means, Hey,

we have a great show for youthis week. It's an hour long,
So get yourself an arm palmer, kick off your golf cleats. Because
your wife is upset that you walkedon the linoleum again in the kitchen after
year round and you tore it up. She doesn't know what to do with
you. She really doesn't. Probablysend you back to the golf course where
(02:53):
you belong. We have a greatshow for you. I mean, if
you like golf in Scotland and ifyou like golf in Ireland, if you
like to hear about great golf equipmentlike superstroke butters, superstroke putters, grips,
grips, grips, superstroke putter gripskiss You didn't notice everybody is using
(03:20):
them on tour and uh, mostof the guys that are using them are
winning. And that's going to beginthis first segment. Bob McIntyre, Bob
McIntyre, have you seen this kid? Huh boy, he is as scott
Scottish as it gets first to war. He won, uh, the Canadian
(03:46):
Open. Not like duty, notlike duty to go up into Canada as
an outsider and take their cup fromthem. That is tantamount to saying Bob
mcinn out of the Bruce McIntyre cominghere to America and winning our national championship
(04:08):
with the US Open. Let's sayhe beats out Brice and d Chambeau by
three strokes and instead of hearing thenational anthem play and American, an American
winning the US Open championship, aScotsman takes it. Same thing when Bob
McIntyre went up and took the CanadianOpen. Then he goes home back to
(04:41):
Scotland and he wins in an unbelievableif you miss the Scottage Open. Well,
let me back up a little bit. The last two weeks for me
have been just great great. Ilove everything about Scotland Gulf. I love
their people, I love the country. On a side note, if you'd

I bet you'll be glad you did. I bet you're glad you played in
(05:47):
our tournaments, just like everybody thatwe've taken to Scotland the last couple of
years to play for Team USA versusTeam Scotland again, and you don't need
a USGA GAIN handicap to play. You don't have to. So many people
have said to me, well,I'm not really that good of a golfer.
(06:08):
I can't play an event like that. That's why I created the tournament
for guys like us. Did youhear me tell you at the beginning of
the show, I have a thirtyseven handicap. Yeah, we have five
flights one to five for the reallygood golfers, six to ten for the
(06:29):
better golfers, eleven to fifteen formost golfers. Guess where most of our
players come from. It's that tento fifteen, the sixteen to twenty and
twenty one and over. That's meand you. That's the average golfer.
That's why I created the tournament again. You don't need a USGA, gin
(06:50):
GI N handicap, an official toplay. We have a rule system that
nobody can beat. Sandbaggers, hackers, the cheaters, they can't the way
we created the system. Anyway, log onto USA Scotland Golf dot com to

be playing for Team USA against TeamIreland. Yeah, Scotland and Ireland.
We run both tournaments for Ireland.Log onto get ready for this USA Ireland

Golf dot com, USA Ireland Golfdot Com, USA Ireland Golf dot Com.
Check them out. Back to Scotland. Yes, I love Augusta.
Yes, I love the Masters. It means spring has sprung flowers. They're
(08:00):
budding, chirping is chirping of thebirds, Putters are putting, drivers are
well hacking into the woods. That'swhat the Masters is to me. It's
a signaling of golf seat in starting. I mean I live in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, all right most of thetime. Yeah, we can play in
(08:24):
the winter. Yes, we doplay in the winter most of the time.
Though the courses aren't even starting tolook nice until late May. Mace.
You know, April showers bring mayflowerswell here in Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania,
and that rain's still coming down rightup to Mother's Day. Then God turns
off the spinklers. Thank you Godfor everything, and suddenly golf season begins.
(08:48):
So that leaves you late May,June, July, August, September,
October, half of October. We'renot like you guys living in Arizona,
Florida and the Southern states. Sothat for most Americans and for me,
is the benchmark that kicks off golfseason. The Masters. You know,
(09:09):
I grew up in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, hometown of Arnold Palmer. And
you know, Arnold was just incredible. He won four Green Jackets. He
loved the Masters, and in aninterview one time, I asked him,
well, why was the Masters yourfavorite? And you know, he said,
well, I'd get to go toHawaii. Okay. You know,
(09:33):
then we do the little you knowat that time, you go down to
Byron Nelson through Texas, play thoseSouthern courses, a few tournaments in Florida,
you get it where the warm weatheris. Then the hallowed grounds of
Bobby Jones's masterpiece design at Augusta. And Arnold loved the Masters. He loved
(09:58):
Augusta. It also kicked off theseason for him. But I digress back
to Scotland. Bob McIntyre, theScottish Open, so you know, the
capital Edinburgh beautiful if you ever getthere, Edinburgh, Scotland, beautiful ancient
(10:24):
castle overlooking the city which you willlook upon in an amazement. How they
got those stones up there? Whateveryear the castle's built, I don't remember
right now how they got the stonesfor the castle up there. I guess
if you don't have YouTube, Facebook, cable, TV McDonald's, you're pretty
(10:52):
much filling your time up with workback in the day. You know what,
I got to see someone here now, can't find it real quick.
Hey, you're listening to golfing Aroundradio hour here on well on the old
internet. Also we bank our broadcastpartners one of three point nine FM Wheeling
(11:13):
Pittsburgh on Fox Sports Radio. Alsothe iHeart iHeart Plod class platform. Say
that twenty times after you've been drinkingScotch plot class platform. What are you
saying? I don't know, Clodclass platform, not drinking scott She would
(11:33):
say, you can listen to golfingAround on the iHeart podcast network any time
anywhere in the whole world. Uh, talking about Scotland. Talking about Robert
McIntyre's incredible win there. If youdidn't see it, brilliant play. He
(11:54):
wanted to win his national championship atscott Genesis Scotland Open, and he did
with a remarkable, remarkable finish onsixteen, seventeen and eighteen. Where to
go now and listen to his remarksright after stepping off the eighteenth green and
(12:16):
capturing the Scottish Open, closing sixtyseven for your second PGA Tour victory and
a little over a month, youhave not been shy talking about what it
would mean to win this national championship. What are your emotions right now?
That's unbelievable. I don't know whetherto cry or laugh. To be honest
with you, I'm just trying toenjoy it. I mean, I'm being
(12:37):
a Nasalans. I'm going off inthe background right now when it's this is
what I wanted, this is whenI got, and it's just we're going
to celebrate. We thought we celebrateharding Canada, my dad and Shannon,
But I think tonight's going to begoing to be wailed. Now. I
want to go back to the sixteenthhole. Can you talk us through the
drop and then how you played thewhole the rest of the way. Yeah.
(13:00):
Look, every time I seemed tomiss affair, I felt like I
was getting bad breaks. I wasin I was in the thickest of stuff.
I looked at it and went,oh, well, this is just
a hack out, and I tooktwo steps back, or well, I
stepped back to take a practice wing. And I've got metal studs on the
front three only three metal studs onmy foot, and I just heard clunk
clunk when I kind of shimmy,and I couldn't believe it. I was
(13:24):
like, because of the grass wasover the top of it until my toe
went in on top. Wasn't untilI noticed a sprinkling. Then sure enough,
when I got over the ball thesprint I was on. My heel
was on it, but they aresoft spikes, so I wasn't feeling it.
Mark came over and it was itwas just it was just a gift
(13:45):
to me. It was something thatit was meant I happened. Last year,
I got taken from me, andthis year I got I got a
gift, and I'm just I can'tbelieve it happened. Fast forward to eighteen.
You've dreamed about making that part onthe seventy second hal a lot of
times. What was it like inreality? You know, I was,
My hands were really calm. Iknew I knew the job I had in
(14:07):
hand downhill double breaker. I haddouble breakers all day, so I just
had to trust myself and trust myfeet and my eyes. Once I got
done behind it, and I justkept saying to myself, this is what
you dreamed of as a kid, this is the one you wanted, and
just do it. And I meanit was just I thought it was short.
But if it wasn't. You mentionedthe celebration after the Canadian Open victory.
(14:31):
It was a bit legendary from whatI've heard. What is this one
going to be like? This isgoing to be at with control, this
one's going to be this one's goingto be really special. I couldn't again
I said it. This is onegolf tournament I wanted in my in my
golf career, and I'm twenty seven. I thought after the bow gain ten,
I thought, well, we're goingto have to keep chasing this one,
(14:52):
and I'll keep coming back to thisand chasing for another win. But
I got it. It is ashort list of players who have won the
Scottish Open while being from Scotland.Colin Montgomery nineteen ninety nine and Robert McIntyre
in twenty twenty four. And JimGallagher. You could see the emotion.
(15:13):
You could hear it in Robert McIntyre'svoice. This is something he had been
very open about. This was theone that he wanted more than anything else,
and what a performance to get it. It sure was. And remember
through the tenth hole he's three orfour back then, looked like he has
a chance. He wasn't on mydance car by any means. By the
way he was playing. He onlyhit fifty percent of his fairways. But
you know, I thought when hisdad was on the bag at the Canadian
(15:35):
Open and he won there, thatwas special. And you mentioned and he
said, this is the one hewanted the most, and he finished second
last year, went on to winin wisdom, did the same thing back
in nineteen ninety. It just doesn'thappen very often at this event when you
come in there and you finished secondand come back to win the next year.
But it's such an impressive finish andjust the way he handled himself.
He's kind of stayed in the moment. He mentioned there. I don't get
(15:56):
many bad or don't many get yetmany good breaks. I get a lot
of bad breaks. Today with thebiggest break he got was on the par
five. We'll take a look atthis. This is where he's taking the
practice swing right here, and lookhow thick this is. This SHOT's just
going to be one where he's justhave to go out by here. He's
walking and he feels that he mentionedhe has the metal spikes, felt the
(16:17):
sprinkler head talking with the official there, I feel the sprinkler head. I
did not know it was there. You don't see sprinkler heads in Scotland and
the Rock Verry often. In thiscase it was he didn't do anything wrong,
he didn't know it was there. He gets the free drop. Now
look at this light compared to thechip out lie he was going to have.
He's got this light here where he'sgot a seven iron. This from
two hundred and forty seven yards. It's a little bit of a jumper.
(16:38):
He's just trying to get it upthere as close as he can to the
green. He cannot see it totallyblind. He's going to know by this
reaction right here how good a shotthis was. And it's so impressive.
I know he mentioned get I didn'tget that many good breaks. If that's
not the break he's had in hiscareer. That's the biggest one he has.
But when you think of a youngman here, you've got this pot.
(17:00):
He's dreamed about making a butt likethis to win the Sky Show Open
and he does it. Let mesay, he thought he left it a
little bit short of that balls rightin the middle of the whole. Everybody's
excited to that young man. Theyare so fired up for this guy to
get this win at home and there'snothing better. And he's winning his National
Open. Now I've won close tohome and it's very special to do that,
to win your National Open something andonly two guys from Scotland has ever
(17:23):
done at such a special moment secondwin, and he mentioned I learned a
lot at Myrtle Beach when I didn'tget it done. Whether you're golfing around

(18:51):
I'm your host Randy Tanlinger. Greatshow. This week we're talking about
Scotland. We'll be talking about Ireland'ssuperstroke Pottergrip down the Road. Here.
In the first segment, I talkedabout my love and affinity for Scotland.
Been there several times. Have mypicture of course on the Swoll Cambridge.
(19:14):
In case you don't know, wehave the Golfing Around TV show that is
broadcast on mid Atlantic Sports Network Sundaysat nine thirty and have filmed there I
have the Team USA versus Team ScotlandAmateur Golf Championships I created a few years
ago for hackers like you. Youdon't need a usgagain handicap to play,
(19:37):
and don't care if you're good golfer, great golfer or bad golfer. We
have a twenty one and over handicapflight, a fifteen in handicap and over.
I mean, you don't need ahandicap, so log onto USA Scotland
golf dot com. I spent thefirst segment talking about Robert McIntyre. Robert
(20:00):
McIntyre, if you're not following thiskid's career, you better now so you
know who he is when he goeson a tear in a couple more years.
A few years back now, mygoodness. Other years ago I was
in Ireland in the North up atRoyal County Down for the Walker Cup.
(20:22):
The Walker Cup, if you knowthe Walker Cup. It's for amateur golfers,
the very best that yeah, well, Europe and the USA have it's
a step below the Ryder Cup.And the Irish were telling us about this
young kid with the crazy hair andthe incredibly long drives. That young kid
(20:45):
became Rory McElroy. Yeah, BobMcIntyre. Bob McIntyre turned pro in twenty
seventeen. The young kid is hittinghis stride. He won RBC Canadian Open
just about a month ago. Hethen won his home country's national championship,
(21:08):
much like Bryson de Chambeau won theUS Open, Brooks Koepka, you name
it, who's won the US Open, who has been an American. To
win your national championship is an honor. Well. Bob McIntyre two weeks ago
won the Scottish Open in dramatic fashion. We ended the first segment playing the
(21:33):
clip. After he did that,he went on a tear on sixteen seventeen
and eighteen to win the Scottish Openhis national championship. High hopes coming into
the Open Championship. Open my favoritegolf tournament, my favorite major. It's
(21:57):
my favorite golf tournament than the Masters. Why because it's you know, it's
the Open. Man the home ofgolf. Scotland be in Ireland next year
up at royal Port Rush, agreat course where I've lost golf balls.
In fact, I'm still looking forone from a fairway shot that I thought
(22:19):
i'd put in the hole. Ithink my buddy down there grabbed it out
through it. I don't know. The point is, keep your eyes on
Robert McIntyre. Now how you willremember him. If you don't remember his
win at the Scottish Open, hiswin at the Canadian Open, you probably
(22:41):
were not overly impressed by his tiefor fiftieth last week, his tie for
fiftieth. Now you have to understandsomething. Shawfley wins at six hundred.
Justin Rose on his tail four under, Horseshall three, Henley minus two oh,
(23:06):
Shane Lowry, the Irish boy, three under, John Rahm three under.
There was a whole bunch of players. Sorry, sorry about that.
Shaffley's final was nine under, Roseswas seven under. I gave you their
(23:27):
round four unders. Nine under wasVander Schoffley. Rose was seven under,
Shane Lowry the Irishman four under. For the four rounds. You gotta understand,
though it dramatically pops up two plusthree plus five, plus six,
(23:52):
plus eight, a ton of peoplesitting at plus five, six seven eight.
Robert McIntyre, winner of the CanadianOpen Scottish Open, tied for fiftieth
with a plus nine with one onetwo three four five six seven eight other
(24:15):
guys. Then you get into plustens plus elevens. So the point is
Brooke Koepka was at a plus eighthfor the Open Championship. Again, Robert
McIntyre only turned pro in seventeen. It's a big stage to be on the
(24:37):
Open Championship. Let me cut tothe chase. You'll remember him if you
don't know who he is at thispoint. He's a kid who plays left
handed but decided to play well righthanded with an unorthodox swing. Let's take
a listen. Let's take a lookat that footage. In fact, the
(24:59):
right handed down practice this. Well, he does play that Scottish game with
the stick up in the then orof Scotland and Oban where he's from,
the little island we spoke about. So they play left and right handed at
that. So I'd say he's decentenough and that's gone right. I went
straight right. He tried to takemore's got a good break there. I
(25:21):
tried to hit it further up andI thought he was going to and really
was given that a belt took abig swing. Ye shows you he was
confident of pulling it off. It'spretty good right handed swing. Yeah.
Well, as I say, heplays that game out and we call it
hurling in Ireland. Another look herethat angle it comes off the club face
(25:47):
where I think going on our problemthere, and it opens up the flag
too with the pin over on theleft hand side. I think it might
have been a little bit of amishit there. See that he catched him.
I love to backside of the club. A good action there, you
know, all things considered there,Paul, I mean nice rotation, good
(26:07):
load. Look at that full release. Yeah yeah, well a little bit
much. Yeah, those of usgrowing up in Ireland, you know,
Shane Lewry being one and I'm Pardrickmyself and played harling, which is with
the sticks. You know, we'rewell used to hitting it left handed.
We don't have a problem with it. So now you remember who Robert McIntyre
(26:27):
is. You're listening to golfing aroundradio hour. I'm your host, Randy
Tantlinger join me every week. Wellyou can listen to us on a veriety
variety of way used to listen asit were, the old frequent sleep modulator
frequency modulator at one oh three pointnine FM. Yeah, that's what FM
(26:52):
means, frequency modulation one oh threepoint nine FM. Fox Sports Net Wheeling,
Pittsburgh. Appreciate you guys tuning inevery Saturday morning at ten am and
you can listen to us on theiHeartRadio podcast platform around the world, World
World, anytime you want. Sotalking about my favorite time of year,
(27:18):
the Scottish Open into the Open Championshipand Robert McIntyre. Keep your eyes on
this young man. Remember that theold tanker told you back in twenty twenty
four that this kid is on therise. Now, look, Open championships,
major championships just don't grow on thetrees. There's a lot of guys
(27:42):
out there with one offs. Rememberold mister Campbell down in Pinehurst many years
ago, that was his one andonly. There are plenty of guys and
you know what, that's a greatcareer. If you can win one major
championship, that's a great career. It really is. Do you have the
(28:07):
guys that win things are expected, nothing happens. Jordan Speith comes to mind.
Of course, when you get acheck from under Armour for five hundred
million, your motivation goes out thedoor. Same way with Sergio I do
believe he was the hottest thing inthe mid to late nineties. Then the
(28:29):
money hit the table. His Master'sChampionship was unexpected. His US Open was
unexpected. So with that said, young mister Robert McIntyre of Scotland, enjoy
your moment in the sun right now, but keep an eye on it,
keep an eye on him, keepan eye on his future. There's something
(28:52):
about the Scots and the Irish thatonce a gain a hold like Lowry McElroy,
don't think Max done either, Rory, He's not. In fact,
next year's Open Championship will be playedat Royal Port Rush in the north of
(29:15):
Ireland. I've had the honor toplay it twice in my lifetime. Love
the course. Don't now everybody's gonnafit in that little town, but know
this, it is Rory McElroy's homegolf course. Now. Yeah, so
don't think that Rory won't be seekinghis next major at the Open Championship at
(29:40):
Royal Port Rush. A couple ofyears ago, I got to play and
real quick before we go to commercial, the starter goes ah raightis. I
got to let you know that himself, Darren Clark, Darren Clark will be
teeing off behind you when he comesthrough. Let him play through. We're
like wend'sy tee and off they go. Ah oh. In about two hours
(30:00):
and a half, two hours andforty five, mister Clark and some guests
will be coming through, and I'mthinking, how in the heck is he
gonna catch me around whole number six? And we saw him coming whole number
seven. He got closer whole numbereight. He got closer by the turn.
(30:22):
Everybody in my group stopped and welet Darren Clark play through. He
was half way through his lunch bythe time we got into the clubhouse.

mean it to the letter of thet. But the nice thing about the
K Club they're so down to earth. It is not snooty, it is

not snobby. It is just simpleelegance done the Irish Way, where hospitality
is the number one well soup dejoreat the K Club is hospitality every single
day, where friendliness and smiles andpoliteness are in aboundment. There at the
(34:37):
K Club again, mister Palmer designedtwo great, unbelievable courses. The North
Course played host of the two thousandand six Ryder Cup. I think I
made a new friend, new friendlike minded. Gary Murphy's the pro there
at the K Club and Murph magnificentmoney and he is all that played on
(35:01):
the European Tour for a while, played with Rory McElroy and this guy is
dead solid perfect. That's why Icalled him Money Murph. I think the
two of us got along really welland look forward someday to going back to
meeting Murph again and back to theK Club and having a few points with
(35:22):
him this time. So we're goingto close out the golf around Radio hour
with taking you to the Emerald Isle, to the all inspiring, elegant home
to two Arnold Palmer golf courses ofthe North and South, home to the

time to tee it up on golfingaround from well, the illustrious K Club
in Dublin, Ireland. This isMurph himself. Murph himself is a professional
golfer, unlike myself, I'm aprofessional idiot. Murph been harsh, Ronnick.
(36:30):
What you got to face up tothe facts. Absolutely wonderful treat to
be at the K Club, Murph. The history behind the club. You've
got two great golf courses here, the North and the South. We have.
We're very fortunate that you know thefamous course is an North course because
of the the rider couples hosted herein two thousand and six where the Europeans
(36:53):
destroyed them. Say it, sayit if it happens, say it only
nine points. Unfortunately, I actuallyhad money on America that week. Thank
you for that. So at leastsomebody believes in it. But yeah,
so the Ryder Cup was amazing,I know six there was a long history
before that with the European Tour.European Open has played there for many years.
(37:14):
Bernard Langer, you'll see the raillike you hold it got one hundred
foot put down the final green foreagle to win, to be Barry Lane,
and then it came back. We'vehad the Irish Open here. Rory
McElroy, I'm not sure if I'veheard of him. I have. He's
from the Dorch, he's from northYeah. Yeah, but you've played with
Rory Yeah yeah. I thought himabsolutely everything. I love it. I
(37:35):
love It's hard to believe it,no, not with your swing it's so
yeah. I was lucky Mike forthe last few years on tour were his
first few years, so I kindof got to see the genius up close
and he's he's an amazing guy aswell. Last year at the Irish Open,
so for twenty twenty three, mylittle fellow came down to meet him
and stuff and he literally he hasn'tHe's very like PORLK Carrington. He hasn't
(37:59):
changed. The fame has not alteredhim, so which is great to see.
But yeah, so there's a bighistory with tournaments and the European Open
was played here on the South Courseas well. South course is kind of
little head and jam. You know, it probably doesn't get enough of the
acclaim that it really deserves. It'sa wonderful course but with a very different
(38:21):
style to the North Course. Soyou got a nice variety if you come
to play both courses. You know, the legend himself from latrob Pennsylvania,
he emerged from the Laurel Highland Mountains. Well, he's left his imprint all
over the world, but more sothe legend Arnold Palmer has left his imprint
here in the k Club. Andyou know I can see because I'm from
(38:43):
Latrobe. Gary told you I cansee what mister Palmer felt because it feels
a little bit like home here.It really does Latrobe with our rolling mountains
and the topography here. Let's talka little bit about what you'd consider on
the South course. Your signature holesoutsides on the on the front side,
Number seven is a beautiful power fivebut scary water down the right undulating fairway
(39:08):
in the summertime when it gets fast, the right side of that fairway once
can get you down into the water, so kind of palmer esque. You
really have to plot your way aroundthe course. I know he did it
with a lot of panache. Butthat's the big feature hole on the front.
But there's quite a few blind shotsas well, which I think is
quite nice and unique for Parkland golf. It's it's most unusual. And then
(39:31):
the back nine, the last threeholes are amazing. Fifteen is you kind
of your last chance to draw breath. It's a short, gettable power four.
But then the last three holes it'sjust quite knuckle right all the way
in trying to stay out of theselegs. Well, if I'd loosen my
grip, it wouldn't be so lightknuckled that I hold that thing like a
(39:51):
ball bat. You know, theCA Club is more than golf as well.
Let's talk about the accommodation and everythingyou could do at the K Club
is again, well, we havea five star resort, so we've one
hundred and fifty bedroom hotel and it'sfive star all the way with a sensational
spa. We have one of thebest scenarios in the country here, so
(40:12):
if you like your wines, Lisawill look after you better than anybody.
But it's a very relaxed you know. Five star normally is you're you know,
very staged and perfect. Whilst we'revery proud of our traditions here,
it's a very relaxed environment, soyou can fail. You're on vacation and
just switch off and really enjoy yourselfand have a good time. Wow.
(40:34):
Well, pedigrees. Pedigrees are soimportant in golf. When you've hosted a
Ryder Cup Championship, as the kClub does well, that is the highest
degree of pedigree. Some of thenames that played on that famous team,
both European and American, were veryfortunate that year No. Six to have
three Irish guys and the team DarrenClark, Paul McGinley and Patrick Carrington New
(40:59):
Ireland, you know, and notreally the war grain the opening day and
I'm not really added to the wholedynamic of the week. The weather was
awful, but that didn't make adifference the atmosphere of sensational and then obviously
on the American side, Tiger wasin town. So anytime Tiger is in
town, you know you're guaranteed aspecial event. He was just didn't have
enough company that we can and wegot the trumble. Ah darn it all
(41:22):
right, let us go out onthe south course, the Palmer South Course
with the pro here and I domean pro and we're going to enjoy this
splendid, splendid design. Murph.Wait here ha, look that I found
grass on the golf course. Beautifulconditions which you would expect at the K
(41:45):
Club. I mean it is immaculate. It's early April. The rain has
been coming down on you all winterlong. Yeah, I think we've had
a bad Maybe it's the wettest winter, so we'll guaranteed a wonderful summer.
That's our whole Emerald Isle. Youknow, Ireland is often referred to as
the Emerald Isle. I can certainlysee it here to K Club. It
(42:08):
is just beautiful. You're superintendent's doinga great job. You know. We
do use a lot of different variancesof grass in the US. Bermuda Passwallam.
What's going on here at the KClub. It's the meadow grass like
bent grass that you have in thenorthern part of North America doesn't really doesn't
(42:29):
like very hot weather as such,so it's perfect. In Ireland we never
get really more than kind of seventyfive eighty tops. In July and August
it's still seventy five and eighty,so it's beautiful. Perfect golfing weather gets
a little self in the wintertime, but for the tourists in the summer it's
absolutely it's beautiful. Now on ourgreen complexes, well, first of all,
(42:50):
the green complexes themselves, Arnold PalmerCourse Design Company, they really did.
I can't Rembrandt, Picasso, Monet, true artists of the art world
what they've done here. The PalmerCompany is just brilliant. When we get
onto the greens. What grasses arewe using there? It's a penny for
grass, which is a different typeof grass to what we have on the
(43:14):
North Course. These are newer grainand obviously sand based. So the pudding
services all year round. Your sensation, even in the winter time. It
amazes people how well these greens Iwould say, sensational all in capitals in
red letters, sensational. All right, we're gonna head on in a little
bit. The maestro here, Murphy, the maestro you like that, yeah,
(43:36):
like to send Oh, he conductsa symphony every time he grabs a
club, we're gonna go up tothe green here and just well take it
all in at the K Club.
