That's hamms Arborcare dot com. We'reactually to talk a little bit about
the website this morning. Speaking ofthe website, a couple of different things,
of course, hams Arbercare dot comfor when it comes to taking care

(00:32):
of your trees and all your arborneeds, of course, Hamsarbercare dot com
and of course Game of Trees dotcom got some great products for sale up
there, including a beautiful puzzle thatyou can get a great gift for yourself
for looking for something fun to do. It's a really really cool thing.
Goes to goes to help fund theGuanamala project. You can learn more about
that as well at Game of Treesdot com. Tell phone number eight six

five three nine six. And aspromised, we are joined by Kevin ham
mester Arber's at Ham's Arborcare. Kevin, how are you doing this morning?
I'm doing great, Sean, howabout you? I can't complain whatsoever.
And it is this is this isclimbing weather this morning. I've got a
guess yeah, yes, perfect, yes, good stuff. Now it's gonna

(01:19):
get warm later this week, buttoday we will definitely take it. And
and uh, and we think about, you know, all the great things
that that trees provide for us.They're they're beautiful, They provide shade,
they keep the temperature nice and moderate. If you've got, you know,
a tree in the yard and justsingle tree is beautiful. Everything that they
that they do is they can providefood for animals and you know, you

(01:42):
want to attract maybe deer or someother things to your yard, you can
do that. And also of coursethings like beautiful flowers and other things can
grow on trees as well. Andwe're going to talk this morning about persistent
fruit on crab apples. What arewe talking about here, Kevin? And
what do people need to know whenit comes to that, to that area
of when it comes to crab appletrees. Well, you know something people

(02:04):
often say, is is it amessy tree? Trees in general are messy
creatures. Uh, you know, they dropped their leaves of course, they
you know, we live in atemperate climate as summer and winter, and

(02:24):
so you have that and oftentimes youhave the seeds the fruit, and when
you have actual fruit, you know, the mess can be sticky and gooey
and have stains and different things, and so it's good to have persistent fruit.
And what persistent fruit means is thatit stays on the tree until something

(02:49):
eats it and and through the winter, and so it provides a winter source
of food for those birds and hcritters around through the winter. And so
our crab apples all are categorized aspersistent fruit. Crab apple so it hangs
on the tree and it doesn't havea big mass on the ground underneath the

(03:14):
tree in the fall. You know, if you've ever had an apple tree,
you know, there's only so manyapples you can eat, and then
the rest they're just all over theground, and you know they get in
which they are what they are.Well, crab apples are like that in
the old days. With these newyou know, highbreds are bread for persistent

(03:38):
fruit, and so all of ourvarieties are that, except the spring snow,
which is a sterile and it's awhite flower and doesn't have any fruit.
So if you have something with sidewalksor something more. You really can't
have any anything fall than a springsnow is the one for you. A
nice green leaf and a and abeautiful white flower, and the other ones

(04:03):
are are mostly pinks and various shadesof pinks and red and yeah, and
then our service berry is another fruitingtree that we have and that doesn't necessarily
have a persistent fruit, but ithas a very popular fruit, so it
doesn't tend to hit the ground.Yeah, the birds get it before it

(04:27):
doesn't. And it's also edible,so it's not bad on you know,
vanil ice cream. If if you'reprone to eating your carbohydrates, who doesn't
who doesn't level little carbs once ina while. And you mentioned too,
Kevin, just the when you're talkingabout about crab apple trees. And one
of the things that I love isjust the variety of different flowering colors you

(04:49):
can get and having that just thatright that right shade, that right color,
whether it's you know, different redsand pinks. And if I seem
like pur blish looking or I'm ormy eyes just got you've got you've got
purple leaves, you know, apurplish leaves on. I'm sitting here at
the shop right now, staring atthe nursery. So we've got some purple

(05:12):
leaves on them and some various shadesof green, so you've got, you
know, not just the flower thatprovides some color in the landscape, but
the actual uh leaves. It's it'sa really great time as we talk about
this stuff as well. Of coursewe've got Badger football coming up this Saturday.
What better way to show off yourlove of the Badgers than having having

(05:34):
some badger colors on your trees inyour yard. And that's a really cool
thing, and it's Kevin mentioned somegreat options for you. And of course
if you're looking to attract your birder, looking to get some birds to the
yard, some really really great stuffat Ham's Arbor Care to bring those birds
in year round and really enjoy enjoyyour outdoor time again. You can pick
up Fham this morning you McCall eightsix six five nine six five three nine

website hams Arborcare dot com. That'sh A m ms Arborcare dot com.
We don't talk a lot, Idon't think it gonna get all that deep
into the website. But the website, you've got a lot of great stuff
up there. And one of thecool things is, of course the process
that that you have when it comesto getting a requests and those kind of

(06:20):
things through the through the phone orthe website. You guys make it really
easy at Hams Arborcare to kind ofstart that process, don't you, Kevin?
Yeah, O. Our cm CRMCustomer Relations Management, it's software interacts
with our website so that you canyou can actually put in a request and

(06:42):
it just shows up in our emailand as a written request and you can
put all your information in there. And then uh. Also, you know,
we've got of course two office staffs, so our phone often during the
day it gets answered by a person. You'll you'll get a prompting service initially

(07:03):
that is our our phone service, automated phone service. But you press one
or press two for you know, one for a new new request and two
if you've got something pending and you'refollowing up with something or have a question
on a quote or something like that. Usually press two for Katie the back

(07:24):
office and Janine has taking the thethe front office calls for a new requests
and and that is you know, the best way to get to us.
We have a system set up.Of course, you know, my phone
number can oftentimes get compromised, soI'm calling clients while I'm out and about
calling ahead or something, and youknow a lot of people like to save

(07:46):
that number and think they're going toget to me faster by calling me directly.
But just truth be told, Iforward those messages right to the office.
Yes, I try not to reinforcethat because they try to stay you
know, focused on my task.And so it's just there's a system I

(08:09):
I tend to, you know, not check my voicemail as much as they
should, you know, and andthings can fall through the cracks because I've
got a lot of things in mymind. May take a message and then
not writing it down or something, and then now the message is somewhere,
it's not in my head. Andso the best way is to stick to

(08:33):
our system of either going to thewebsite and you can get right in there.
It's very user friendly, or callin the office. And another thing
with the CRM, when we sendthe estimate, it comes to your inbox
and it's very used or friendly. You can kind of follow the prompts through
there. Uh. Most often willattach a PDF so you can see the

(08:54):
whole quote right away. Sometimes Imay add different things on that I see,
and so if you just see theemail, you might see the price.
It might might be more than whatyou think. Well, if you
go to that PDF or open upthe quote, you can see all of
the items there. And we havethe policy. You have the power of

(09:16):
the governor here at hams Arborcarey, you can line item veto. You don't
need anybody else's approval to do that. Oh, that is very very cool.
Also, financing options is well availablethrough hams arborcry We haven't really talked
much about that either, but whenit comes to when it comes to while
looking for a new tree and gettingthings taken care of and if, of

(09:37):
course, if you've got a treethat may have issues, you definitely don't
want to put that off, andhaving financing options is really really important as
well, isn't it. Yeah,absolutely, And there's there's a variety of
ways do of course, we doaccept credit cards, but there's we have
a financing option where you can havethree months, you know, no payment,
no interest. So if you justneed that little bit of extra,

(10:00):
you know, spread that tree,or you're getting you know, two or
three trees and you want to spreadthat out over three months. You can
do that with no interest or payments, or if you need an extended period
of time, you can have aeasy monthly payment plan to get your your
work done or or some big surprise, you know, tree service need comes

(10:20):
up. We had somebody that theirinsurance company demanded that the tree behind their
house be removed. It was afifty inch diameter silver and uh, you
know that was ended up. Itwas you know, a young, young
couple and you know that was asticker shock to him because it's just one
tree. Yeah, but you know, a twenty five inch diameter tree,

(10:43):
it could be you know, anexpensive tree. A fifty inch diameter is
not twice as big as the twentyfive it's four times as big as a
twenty five inch diameter. So thingscan can escalate quickly and sometimes you just
need that that financing option, andwe have it available. It's great to

(11:05):
have, and of course Kevin andthe team at hams Arborcare love to talk
with you. You've got that treethat maybe you're concerned about, or maybe
just want to make sure that youdon't have concerns. I'd love to get
out to inspect looking to plant somebeautiful trees. They've got you cover there
covered there as well at Ham's Arborcarewebsite hams Arborcare dot com. That's h

In the meantime, a fantastic treeclimbing competition you and Taylor are going
to be participating in, and we'lltalk a little bit about that next week.
But it sounds like it's going tobe exciting. Kevin. You enjoy
this beautiful day, my friend twoSean, Thank you Kevin Ham hams Arborcare
