at hams Arborcare the website hams Arborcaredot com. That's h a m MS
Arborcare dot com. Also Game ofTrees dot com And uh, I smell

(00:31):
like up like, uh smell greatthis morning thanks to the Yeah. Yeah,
yeah, it's like it's like, you know what I the soap that
I use Kevin, it's a phenomenalproblem. Yeah, it's a phenomenal,
phenomenal product using the biochar that youguys use at hams Arborcare. It is

(00:53):
a great gift for yourself or somebodygreat in your life. Checking out online
of course, the website for ordersalso got some really cool T shirts and
hoodies and professional equipment. If youare an arborist or a tree climber.
There's great stuff at the website Gameof Trees dot com. Kevin, how
are you doing today doing gray?I'm pretty hot and I'm loading up a
couple of bundles of wood taking themup to an Amish guy that's going to

(01:18):
rip them into dimensional Oh. Reallyso this is our These are trees that
we cut down and mill and they'rethey're one day is going to be part
of our shop. Oh that isvery very cool, and uh, it's
a good day to be taking alittle bit of a road trip, maybe
get up the ac. Unfortunately, for trees, they don't have that option.

(01:40):
And this type of weather if thetree is stressed and can really cause
some issues, can't it. Yeah, definitely. Fortunately we've had some recent
moisture. But you know, andthe humidity. I mean, I think
the trees are drinking out of theair at least there's a breede. Yes,
But the guys are kind of like, wow, I couldn't devog my

(02:02):
windows this morning on the way tothe shop. It's I gotta ask you,
Kevin. You mentioned about the humidityand trees drinking, you know,
based drinking from from the air.Obviously it's not exact same, But does
moisture does that humidity? Does thathelp either retain the moisture inside the leaves
or are trees able to I knowthey're obviously pulling in carbon monoch side from

(02:28):
the air, the ox side.Oh yes, so I gotta get him
mixed up. I'm probably not alonein that pulling that off from there.
Are they able to reclaim a littlebit of moisture as well out of the
air or is that that not partof the process. Well, yeah,
this somata can receive moisture as wellas but it's mostly spelling moisture in a
normal situation if you have super highhumidity, obviously the high humidity and the

(02:53):
heat is better than no humidity andthe heat. So, uh, the
tree I know down in the rainforest is in the cloud forest, they
get what they call horizontal rain, which is like the cloud moving through and
then it lands on the leaves andthen drips off the leaves to the ground.

(03:16):
So I'm sure that the trees absorbedsomething through their stamata and through the
blential foovel on the bark. Yeah, I know, when we spray stuff
on the bark, the absorbed thatproduct. So I'm sure they would pull

(03:38):
liquid to the bark as well.Interesting with that too, And and I
just one one one final thought, and we're gonna move on to something that
I think a lot of us aregoing to want to think about, which
is winter. We're gonna do thatin just a moment. But one final
thing too about about heat on dayslike today. Obviously, if if you've
got a new a new plant,a new tree, definitely want to make
sure it's it's watered. I thinkmost people think about that. But again

(04:00):
with heat and high temperatures and humiditylike this, even some of those older
trees definitely want to make sure they'regetting plenty of water, right, Yes,
definitely. Just because the tree isbig doesn't mean it doesn't eat water.
And you'd be surprised how much watergoes through a tree in it.
Yeah. I think I've said beforewhen we inject a large elm, we

(04:24):
inject thirty to I mean eighty gallonsis the most the biggest elm that we
inject, and eighty gallons in acouple of hours go into that tree.
Wow, amazing, that is prettyamazing. Talking this morning with Kevin Ham,
master arborist at hams Arbercare the websitehams Arbercare dot com. That's h

Typically people say I don't want tothink about winter. I think a
day like to day. I thinka lot of us would love to think
about winter. And it's a goodtime right now not only to be thinking
at cool thought having having those coolthoughts, it's also a great time to
be thinking about getting on the schedulefor winter work, isn't it Kevin?

(05:06):
Absolutely, Right after we plant yourtree, then we're we're head into winter.
So yeah, this is the timeof year we start to think about
winter, even though we've got alot of stuff, you know, on
the schedule. Yet we've got fallplant healthcare, we got trees to plant,
there's trees to prune and take down. But winter work is is something

(05:29):
that we're intending on doing. Youknow, we we don't really take days
off. There's guys that work allthrough the winter and so we you know,
need that work to do. Andit's a great time to do the
heavier removals. If you've got somethingcoming down that that ash tree that you
didn't want to get treated and nowit's at its final legs, you know,

(05:51):
we can get that down with lessimpact in your yard in the in
the winter time. Ordinarily, Yeah, winner was kind of interesting. We
had to do a lot of Idon't think we ever really put away.
Our alternamats are probably definitely map Still, we have to protect the lawn because

(06:14):
it was We hardly got a frostlast year, but you never know.
The year before was absolutely frozen hardwith two foot thick ice. So but
we're looking forward to winner, especiallyon a day like today, for today's
a great day to get on theschedule. Get on the calendar. If
you've got got trees that you haven'thad looked after, maybe you need needs,

(06:35):
some needs, some things specifically thatyou're noticing take care of. Get
the team from my hams Arborcare Kevinand folks out, get them out to
take a look at tree. Getyou on the schedule as well. I
gotta pick up phone, give acall eight six six five nine six five
three nine six. That's eight sixsix five nine six five three nine six.
And Kevin, we talked earlier aboutabout the website Game of Trees dot

(06:57):
com and of course got the fantasticbio char body soap, body bar and
shampoo up there, as well assome other great stuff for sale. And
of course the Guatemala project is somethingyou mentioned. Of course, the rainforest
and you know kind of the humidityright now, kind of maybe feeling a
little bit like like the rainforest, the heat and the humidity. That's a
project you have been you have beenspearheading for the past. Well, it

(07:19):
was the first time you went downto Guatemala, Kevin. What year was
that, two thousand, man,So we're talking at twenty twenty three years
now. And of course, throughGame of Trees dot Com and those purchases,
people are able to not only getsome great stuff but also help out
with that project, aren't they.Yeah, that that is the revenue stream

(07:41):
that feeds that project. So we'replanning out going down in November of this
year and I don't think we're doinga jungle trip at this time, but
doing some training and bringing some equipmentdown so that needs to get funded and
what better way to do it andbringing quality products to people and and they

(08:05):
get to participate in that effort aswell. It's a really cool website,
Game of Trees dot Com. That'sGame of Trees dot Com. Awesome t
shirts mentioned about the body bar aswell as uh, if you puzzle the
puzzle, about the puzzle. Thepuzzle is got to be some puzzle people
out there on and and for peoplewho don't know that's a it's a it's
a great story about the puzzle. So that's a picture you had taken on

(08:28):
a climb and you and you andyour wife had a single puzzle made and
discovered. It's an awesome it's ait's a really rewarding I know for folks
that do puzzles, they they reallylike things that can be challenging and then
the payoff is it's a it's areally great photo. It's a really great
picture. People really like that puzzle. And there will be there will never

(08:52):
be another picture like that because thetree I was in is gone. Oh
man. That so that view ofTemple one at the call is is one
in time and memory and there itis. You could have it. It
could be yours. And that's whatwe talk about gifts as well. It
