Speaker 1 (00:00):
Eight, seventeen thirteen ten WIBA and ask the experts. We
are joined right now live from Baltimore, Maryland. Mister Kevin Ham, Kevin,
how you doing this week?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Doing great, Sean.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
It's great to talk.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
A little raspy in my voice, but I'm having fun.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Did you fly out there? Do you drive out to
out to Baltimore?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
No, we we drove and there's a couple of posts
on Instagram, you know, show we yesterday we stopped in
Hill Creek Park in Youngstown, Ohio, and what a beautiful
oasis right in the middle of the city. It's like
a It's like a creek and a gorge, you know,

(00:42):
sandstone hillsides going into the creek and all wooded and
walking paths. It's just beautiful.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Did you climb anything?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I did not. I did not bring any of my
personal climbing equipment. We've we're running a booth actually at
the Tree Care Industry Expo, which is something we always
go to. Yeah, and it has all the you know,
toys of the industry, and you know, with with my

(01:16):
presence on social media, it was it was kind of
time to maybe do a booth and meet meet a
lot of the people that I interact with, and it's
going to be a great, great three days.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
It should be absolutely fantastic. We'll talk a little bit
about the expo. We'll talk about some of the things.
I was wondering about how you got out there, because
I know some of the things you brought along. I
don't know how that works with their travel, but it
makes sense you drove it out there. Of course, we
talked with Kevin this this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
He comes to us by the way, a Toyota Highlander.
Oh really, well, I was very impressed.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
That is good to hear. Of course. The website for
hams Arborcare it's just that hams Arborcare dot com. That's
h A M. M. Sarborcare dot com one number eight
six five nine six five three nine six. That's eight
sixty six five nine six five three nine six. I
mentioned towing out to Baltimore. I saw it was that

(02:10):
a week or so ago you had posted a picture
of some beautiful axes that that you had available. You
guys got that full booth going on. What all goes?
What all happens at the the t C I A expo.
I know it's something you do annually. Moves around the country. Uh,
what exactly is is kind of the big the big
things going on there this year.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Well, there's there's a ton of education. Actually, you know,
tree care industry put on a beautiful show and they
interact and cooperate with the International Diet of Abaculture. So
you know, if you go to a conference, you know
session at at the expo, I would get is a

(02:55):
you know continuing education credit. And so that's part of
the requirement of your International Stiety of Agriculture certification is
getting continuing education credits. And as a board certified master
hover Stop, you gotta get a lot of them. I'm
not going to have a lot of time to go

(03:16):
to the education this year because we'll be meeting and
greeting and selling some wares at the booth. But yeah,
and then there's just every every vendor of the industry
is there. So they've got cranes and you know, aerial
lifts all set up and so we're we kind of

(03:38):
represent dinal Lift. That's the lift manufacturer out of Finland,
and that's the list that we use, and so we
give that a lot of airtime on social media. So
I'll be stopping by that booth the GRCs rigging tool
that we were buyer number four, although there's a guy

(04:01):
in Minneapolis that that thinks he was buyer number four,
so there may be a discrepancy on the early production
of who has the number for more exactly. But anyways,
I was an early adopter and we we are a
distributor of that, so we'll be we'll be selling that there.
And and Greg Good he's out of Wisconsin, the Good

(04:24):
Rigging Control System GRCs, and he'll be at the show.
And so we we've got a lot going on, a
lot of people to meet and uh and you know,
I've been told a lot of people are going to
be there coming up this CS. So we've got some
of the axes for sale. Of course, we've got our biotower,

(04:46):
body bar and shampoo and and then we we are
distributors for all gear products in RBI Corporation, which has
all of the arborst tools. So you know, that's a
venue that we're we're tapping into with the Game of
Trees brand. Oh, that is which it has become.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
That is absolutely absolutely awesome to hear. And you mentioned
Game of Trees. Of course, folks mentioned the soap and
other items of course, they've got the great website, Game
offtrees dot com. That's gameoftrees dot com. You can place
your order right there online. And Kevin, while you while
we were speaking last week, you had mentioned you're going
to have some some folks come in, some some climbers

(05:31):
coming in from out of the area. How did that go.
What's the status of that project?

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, I just saw a couple of reels and stories
on Instagram from one of them. His handle is the
Wisconsin tree Climber. Oh Jacob McCutcheon from over east of
US over towards Milwaukee. And another guy from West Bend,
Mark Lichtenberg, good UH climber from that area. They both

(06:03):
climbed at Hoppey Tree Service way back in the day
together and now they're independent. Mark does a lot of
of tree felling UH for for various wood harvesting projects
that are going on in the eastern part of the state.

(06:24):
Jacob has his own UH small tree company, does a
lot of plant healthcare, but is also a competent climber.
And so they they've come in. They're they're great guys.
We've worked with them before and so they're working with
the crew. Eli is running the cruise back there. Taylor

(06:44):
and I are out at the show and so we'll
be uh uh you know, getting getting worked. One there's
there's jobs scheduled every day this week. Uh, and we're
the crews having fun too. Good days so far they've
navigated the rain.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
And with that, and you mentioned the rain and the
crews working, we are still in a great time for planting,
aren't we.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yeah. There there's probably as we speak, uh, legacy trees
being loaded on a trailer going to sun Prairie. I
think we've got a bunch going in sun Prairie today.
We had to delay because of the rain a little
bit or it would have been trees get planted yesterday,
but with a little bit of soil moisture, we saw

(07:34):
give it a day of rep and then be right
back out there. So we've got several trees going over
the next couple of weeks. And that's a great time.
You know, we've got good soil moisture. Now. Yeah, we're
probably going to get a little bit more rain, you know,
before the ground freezes, and so it's gonna it's gonna

(07:54):
freeze into ground really nicely. The legacy platform. Uh, you know,
whether the tree he's in the ground or not in
the ground. It's going to overwinter anyways. But in the spring,
we can't put it in early because it's all mushy,
you know, and wet, you know. With the spring, as
the frost is leaving the ground, Well, if your tree

(08:15):
is in your ground at that time, those roots start
to elongate right away, and and so it's really an
advantage to get it in the ground, and you know
it'll be squeeze. We're getting to the point where if
we get a big deep freeze and the ground freezes,
we're kind of stuck. But then we just plant them

(08:36):
in the spring. But we're we're rushing to get them in.
So if if you want to take advantage of our
fall special, which you would, you'd lock in even if
you know, somehow we run out of time, you would
still lock in that price for next spring. So it's
a great time to choose a tree and get one
on the list. Whether we plant it this fall or

(09:00):
or pushing on the docket for as early as we
can next spring, it's going to be a value.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
You're gonna you're not gonna beat They mentioned that the
fall special. I mean, you're not going to be this
opportunity when it comes to those legacy ties and yeah,
I get that fine break. Yeah that's not going to
be there now, that's for sure. So today's day pickup.
