Speaker 1 (00:53):
Good morning everyone. My name is Pastor Gail. Hey, I
hope you're having a good morning. Setback, relax, or if
you're driving your car, just tune in and listen. We
got a very interesting subject. I'm calling it crossing over,
kind of like crossing over into your promised land or
possessing the promise that God has given you. Or maybe

(01:15):
you've been asked to do something and you don't think
you're qualified for it, or you think it's too much,
you can't see yourself doing it, but maybe somebody else
sees it in you. Maybe somebody else sees it, they
feel you can do it, but you don't see it yourself.
And so I believe for each one of us, we
are created for a reason. We are created for a purpose,

(01:37):
for a destiny to fulfill. And I know that as
I've walked with God all these years, I know for
sure that there have been times when God has asked
me to do things that I really struggled with whether
or not I could do it. Many times, when the
Lord asked me to do things, I would say something like, well, Lord,
I think you called the wrong phone number today. You

(01:57):
really don't want me for that job. And yet God
does choose us right, not according to maybe all of
our gifts and abilities, but according to what he sees
in us. And so the Bible says that God chooses
the weak things and the things that are not to
nullify the things that are, so no one can boast

(02:19):
before him. And so I want to read a couple
of scriptures about crossing over. And the first scripture I
want to read is the number thirteen verses thirty to
thirty three. Now, if you have a Bible at home,
I really encourage you to look this up and read
it for yourself. Don't just listen to me. Open your bible,

(02:40):
look at the scriptures. This is a scripture where the
spies were going to spy out the land, and they
were going to come and give Moses a report about
whether they feel they could take the land or how
good the land is. And it was the promised land
for Israel. It was a land flowing with milk and honey.
And so this says a number thirteen thirty. Then Caleb

(03:02):
silenced the people before Moses had said, we should go
up and take possession of the land, for we can
certainly do it. So Caleb and Joshua, they were men
of courage. They felt that they could take the land.
But the men who had gone up with them, said,
we can't attack those people. They are stronger than we are.

(03:24):
And they spread amongst Israelites a bad report about the
land they had explored. They said, the land we explored
devours those living in it. All the people we saw
there were of great size. We saw the Nephilim there.
The descendants of Annik came from the Nephilim. We seemed

(03:44):
like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the
same to them. Remember the word grasshopper. All right, Joshua
won three through nine. I will give you every place
you set your foot, as I was with Moses. Your
territory will extend from the great Desert to Lebanon, from

(04:07):
the great River Euphrates to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.
No one will be able to stand up against you
all the days of your life. As I was with Moses,
I will be with you. I will never leave you,
nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will
lead these people to inherit the land I swore to

(04:28):
their ancestors to give them. Be very strong and very courageous.
Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses
gave you. Do not turn from it to the right
or to the left, so that you may be successful
wherever you go. Keep this book of the Law always
on your lips. Meditate on it day and night, so
that you may be careful to do everything written therein.

(04:52):
Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not
commanded you be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified,
do not be discouraged, For the Lord or God will
be with you wherever you go. Then Joshua Chapter three,
verses fourteen through seventeen. This scripture talks about the crossing

(05:14):
of the Jordan River. Now I'm not going to read it,
you can look it up later. But when God told
Joshua and the people to cross the Jordan, the river
was at flood stage, so it was it was overflowing
its banks, so in the natural it would have been
impossible to cross. But the Lord told them to take

(05:39):
the ark of the Covenant, carry it on the shoulders
of the priest, and start walking toward the water's edge. Well,
he didn't say whether or not the water would stop,
but the moment the priest carrying the ark. Their feet
touched the water, the water from upstreams stopped flowing and

(05:59):
power in the heat. So all of a sudden, when
the priest stepped into the water, the water stopped, and
then the priest, carrying the arc, walked out into the
middle of the Jordan River. They were on dry ground.
The water was piled up. They stayed in the middle

(06:20):
of the river until all the people had passed by.
When they were done passing by, they collected twelve stones
and put them in a pile right where the priest stood.
These stones were to be a memorial to the children
to come. When they would see the stones, they would

(06:43):
ask why are those twelve stones there, and the people
would say that's They would tell them the story of
how God helped them cross the Jordan River. I want
to talk about eight keys and crossing over into your promise,
but before I do, I want us to pray, Holy Spirit,

(07:05):
I thank you that you're here. I thank you for
each person as they listen to this message, that you
would surround them with your love, your care and give
them fresh peace and fresh hope. Today in the name
of Jesus, Lord, let your word go forth and bring

(07:25):
encouragement and hope to those that are trying to possessing
the promise in the name of Jesus. Amen. So I
want to start off by saying this, what has God
promised you? What are you believing God for? Have you
possessed it yet? Now you see, it's very important on

(07:50):
how you see yourself. How do you see yourself? Do
you see yourself as God sees you? Or do you
believe the enemies lies? And what He said about you?
In number chapter thirteen, verses thirty to thirty three, the
children of Israels said they saw themselves as grasshoppers when

(08:14):
God had made them to be giant killers. But you know,
if you see yourself as a grasshopper, then a grasshopper
you will be. And so because of how they saw themselves,
because they.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Forgot the miracles of the past that God had done
for them, they had to wander another forty years in
the desert, and they were not able to receive the
promise that God had for them.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
But Joshua and Caleb they did. They were able to
cross over. They saw that they were giant killers. They
didn't see themselves as grasshoppers. They knew how big their
God was, and they knew that God was able to
deliver them and help them to cross over into a
promised land flowing with milk and honey. They did not

(09:10):
see what God had created them to be, and they
didn't believe in what God had given them. And so
a lie only has power if you believe it. And
many times we get into a situation or we want
to cross over into our promised land, but the enemy's
right there to remind us how we can't do it

(09:34):
because we're not good enough, or because we feel like
we're a failure at times. So the first thing you
have to confront when you're going into your promised land
is the spirit of fear, which is very real. Two
Timothy one seven says God has not given you a

(09:55):
spirit of fear, but power, love and a soul mind.
So when you're about to cross over into something good,
the enemy comes along and says, no, no, no, you
can't do that. But you have to say, in the
name of Jesus, fear, you gotta go, because God has
not given me his spirit of fear, but power, love

(10:18):
and to sell minded. So many times we're stuck right there.
We're stuck right there with fear and we're not making
any headway. Point number two. You and I carry the
ark of his presence. His presence should be in us,
his presence should flow through us. The question I have

(10:39):
is this, how much presence do we carry with us?
The key to crossing the Jordan River was the presence
of the Lord. When you carry the ark of his
presence on the inside of you, God will give you
a revelation of what he wants to do, and his
presence will make a way for you. What is our

(11:04):
time with Jesus really like? And what are the things
in our life that may hinder God's presence? So we
for sure want the ark of his presence to be
with us everywhere we go. We want to be filled
with the Holy Spirit. You know, I'm not impressed about
how good someone's sermon is, But what I am impressed

(11:24):
about is how much presence I feel when someone talks
about Jesus. That's what's more important than anything. So when
they face that river, the minute their feet started to
touch the water, the water cross point number three, they
had to start walking toward their promised land, taking steps

(11:46):
of faith and trusting God that he had a way
for them to get to the other side. As they
were walking, nothing was happening. Nothing happened until they put
their feet in the world. That's when it all started happening.
And sometimes we have to put our feet in the

(12:08):
water of the situation that we're facing before God begins
to part the water for us. You have to start
walking by faith. The Bible says we walk by faith,
and we don't walk by sight point number four. They
did not look at what was happening in the natural.

(12:29):
If nothing has changed in the natural, it would discourage you.
We must keep our eyes focused on what God has promised.
We need to see that we can have what He
says we can have. You know. So when they were
walking toward the water, it wasn't parting. It was still there,
it was still flowing. It wasn't until they touched the water,

(12:51):
like I said earlier, that has stopped flowing. We got
to start calling the things that are not as though
they already are. Romans four seventeen says that we are
to call the things that are not as though they
already are. Phesans what five to one says that we
are to be imitators of God. And so we need

(13:15):
to say to the water. I call you parted. I
see a way through the middle. God's gonna make a way.
We need to declare what we know God is going
to do. Right. That's really important. So if you're facing
a battle and you need to get into your promised land,
don't look at your natural circumstances, don't focus on that.

(13:37):
Focus on what God has given you, and God will
get you to the other side. Point number five. And
I think I may have said this. Things did not
change until the feet of the priest carrying the art
touch the waters, as then the power of the presence
of God part of the water. So the other thing

(14:00):
the priest said, they stood in the middle of the
river until all the people were able to pass by.
It was important that the priest, the leaders in authority,
stand in the presence of God carrying the presence of
God while the other people can reach the promised land.

(14:22):
Point number six. They took twelve stones and set them
up as a memorial of what God had done for them.
They set the stones in the place where the feet
of the priest had stood. Haha, Praise God. You know
what our kids and our grandkids need to know stories

(14:43):
about how God parted the Waters for Us. You know,
if you haven't bought it yet, I have a book
on Amazon called God Moments, Amazing Encounters with the Divine
in everyday Life. You should order that book, purchase it,
give it to a grandchild to read, give it to
someone who has never seen the power of God manifested.

(15:07):
It's so important that we write down the stories of
what God has done for us. So God Moments is
out Volume two US coming out this year. You won't
want to miss it. I also have the Heart of
Healing Jesus in the Mountains on the Unexpected Call. They're
all on Amazon dot com. Just put in my name

(15:28):
Gail G. A. L. E. Kroc kra g T and
you will find all the books. They're on Audible, they're
in a hard copy Kendle anything you need. They're even
in Spanish. I love the fact they set up the
Twelve Stones. We need to be reminded of what God
has done for us. You know how easy it is

(15:50):
to forget what God has done. We see this in
the nation of Israel. All the time God had done
amazing thanks for them. But before too long they forgot
what God had done for them and fell back into disbelief.
So we need to keep in front of us, or
we need to read the Bible stories of where God

(16:11):
healed the sick, where Jesus raised a dead, because those
aren't just stories, those are factual events that happen in history.
And guess what I heard. There's a new movie out
right now called Living Proof and it's really good. Why
is signs and wonders so important? Signs and wonders show

(16:33):
that our Jesus is still alive. He's still alive and
well on planet Earth. You know that old song I
serve orisen Savior. He's in the world today. I know
that he is living, no matter what they say. And
so then the course goes he lives, he lives. I
know he lives. He lives within my heart. Point number seven.

(17:00):
The priest carrying the ark stood in the middle of
the river until everybody had passed by. So I know
I said that earlier. But listen, you might be the
one in your house that carries the ark. Maybe no
one has entered salvation you, maybe it's just you. Well,
you need to stand in the middle of your home
filled with the ark of his presence. Wife, you want

(17:22):
your loved ones to be able to find the Lord.
You want your spouse, your sons, your daughters to come
to know this living God. We serve the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. You know,
sometimes we need to be that example, even when it
irritates people. We need to be that example. Point number eight.

(17:47):
The people in leadership had to be strong and courageous,
and they had to believe in God's promise and trust
their leaders. They had to be strong and courageous because
you know, at first when God told them to start
out towards the water, nothing was changing. Just like Jericho,
God told them to march around the city once six times,

(18:11):
then on the seventh time goes seven times around and
if they would blow the trumpet and shout, the walls
would fall down. Now that sounds about ridiculous as it gets, right,
But us leaders need to show how we can believe
God and possess our promised land because when we do,

(18:33):
it'll lead others to possess their promised land. Right, and
so how many of you have a promise that you're
believing for we must declare who God is and what
he has promised us, and we must call the things
that are not as though they already are. We must

(18:56):
declare everything that God has said to us us and
in the name of Jesus, I bind all hindrances standing
in your way to try to stop you from your promise.
I believe that God wants us to cross over into
a promise land. I believe that God wants to empower us.

(19:19):
I want you to say these I am statements. I
am a giant killer, I am full of faith, I
am full of the Holy Spirit. I am a conqueror,
I am chosen, I am a treasure. All these things
are true. I am loved, I am wanted, I am accepted.

(19:42):
And so I don't know what you're doing today or
where you're headed out. I hope you have a good week.
I want you to know that God loves you. He
will enable you to take your promised land. I'd like

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
