Speaker 1 (00:16):
Lord, I just want to thank you this morning. I
want to thank you that it's your heart to heal people.
You care about each person that is listening, each person
that will listen by radio early in the morning or
by podcasts later. Lord, you know where they're at, You
(00:39):
know what people are going through, and your heart is
to touch people's lives as they go about their day
to day life. Lord, I just pray that the words
that I would speak would be words that somebody needs
to hear. Lord. I just feel in my heart there's
someone out there that's saying I hope he says something
(01:02):
that really speaks to my heart. This morning. Well, Lord,
I pray that the meditations of my heart and the
words of my mouth would be acceptable in your sight.
Oh Lord, my rock and my redeemer, And I just
praise you because you do care, and you know where
people are at, and you know what they're struggling with. Specifically,
(01:26):
this morning, I want to focus on those that struggle
with depression. Lord. Depression is real. You can feel it,
you can sense it. It really affects a person's life.
And so Lord, for those that have hidden their depression
because they hope that no one ever finds out. Lord,
(01:48):
I pray that you would give them the courage and
the strength to find someone who can help them, that
they can share what they're struggling with as it relates
to depression. Lord, I just pray right now for those
that are struggling with this, that you would break into
their area right now. Maybe they're driving their car, maybe
(02:10):
they're walking along the road, or working out, or listening
to this later. Let the light of hope pierce the
darkness that they presently feel around them, and may they
feel your peace and your strength lift the depression off
their shoulders. I'm reminded, Lord of the scripture that says,
(02:33):
come to me, all you are weary and heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke. See
my yoke as easy and my burden is light. So
this morning I pray in the mighty name of Jesus,
you would break every yoke, everything that is tormenting people today.
To the power of your name, Lord, release the angels
(02:55):
to go minister to the heirs of salvation according to
Hebrews fourteen. And so I thank you, Lord for each
person that will listen to this message, God, that you
will touch them and that they would know that you
care for them in the name of Jesus. Amen. Welcome
(03:16):
to Healing Begins Radio. My name is Pastor Gail Krock,
and I am really super glad that you've chose to
listen to this program. I pray that something I would
say today would touch your heart and change your life.
And I pray that you would know that Jesus cares.
Oh yes, driving down the road listening that would FM.
(03:39):
You need to know Jesus cares. Listening to the Healing
Begins podcast channel later with this program, you need to
know Jesus cares wherever you're at and whatever you're going through.
You know, depression is very real. I had a guide
in my office the other day and he said, you know,
(03:59):
I had a friend that died and he was depressed too,
and he goes, we hide our depression really well, and
I thought what he said, Yeah, I'm really good at
hiding my depression so that nobody knows what I'm going through.
And I said, well, if you don't ever share what
you're going through, then no one can help you. You
don't want to hide your depression. We don't want to
(04:20):
find out about it later to after something bad happens
because you were so depressed. You need to bring that
depression into the light. You need to get help, get counseling,
come to spiritual care for healing ministry. Maybe you're depressed
and you don't even realize it. So I want to
talk about some symptoms of depression and why people hide
(04:45):
depression and why people experience depression. I want to talk
about it a little bit today. It sounds like more
than one program, but I think we can cover it
in twenty four minutes. Some symptoms of depression well, persistent
sadness and emotional heaviness, a loss of interest or joy
(05:06):
in life. Man, when you think of some of these,
you know John ten Ten says the thief cometh to kill, steal,
and destroy, But Jesus said, I have come that you
might have life and have it more abundantly. There's also
fatigue and the lack of motivations, changes in appetite or sleep,
(05:27):
trouble concentrating or making decisions, feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and shame.
Did you know you are God's precious treasure and that
he loves you? I just thought you ought to know that.
A withdrawal from family and friends and responsibilities, physical complaints
(05:49):
without a clear medical cause, and thoughts of hopelessness or suicide.
Suicide is never, never the answer. Go get help, Go
get counseling, check yourself into an er, get some help.
Why do people hide their depression? Number one shame believing
(06:12):
depression is a sign of spiritual failure. It's not. You know,
everybody goes through stuff at one point or another. I
think everybody goes through depression, they just don't admit it.
You need to know that you're not alone and it's
nothing to be ashamed of, because you know, depression is
the symptom, not the root cause, and so you need
(06:34):
to look at why am I depressed? And how can
I get healing for the hurting event that my depression
is coming out of. The Second reasons people high depression
is fear worrying about what others might say or think. Thirdly,
painful pass experiences, experiences rejection or invalidation. When opening up,
(06:57):
people shut you down or say stupid things. I get
over it. That's not the way to go. Confusion not
recognizing their symptoms as depression, and guilt thinking Christians shouldn't
feel that way. Wow, hey, look when Jesus was in
the garden of Gosemite. He was so stressed out. The
(07:19):
Bible says that he sweat drops of blood. Wow. Jesus
was going through some major hurt, pain, depression, and anxiety
in the garden, but God got him through. At spiritual care,
we often say there is no healing with honesty, and
there is no shame in the truth. Jesus meets us
(07:39):
right where we're at. Man, that is so good. He
meets us right where we're at. He knows where we are.
Do you know Jesus knows where you are. He knows
where you live. At one time I was speaking in
church and I said, Hey, those of you in the
back row, do you know I can see in the
back row? And everybody started laughing and feeling real nervous. Well,
(08:00):
God sees you right where you're at, David said, there's
nowhere that you can go from his presence where he's not.
So God knows right where you're at. Reasons why people
experience depression There are many causes. First of all, childhood
trauma or abuse. There is another good that's called a
hurting event. We might as well call these soul slivers.
(08:24):
We talk about this all the time a spiritual care. Secondly, grief,
abandonment or betrayal. These are very common and everyday society
and the world. Man in the world we live, just
watch the news man. The news is so negative. I
don't like to watch it no more. That's why you
(08:44):
never hear me on this Healing Begins program. You never
hear me ever talk about politics. I don't talk about it. Hey,
you know what my eyes are on Jesus. You know,
I know who's I knows who's in the White House,
But I think it's more important who's in God. God's house.
God's in control of this world. Sometimes I wonder with
everything that's going on, but I try. I put my
(09:06):
trust in him. Another reason, the third reason people experienced
the depression is a disconnection from God's love and truth. Well,
you know there's a solution to that. If you're disconnected
from God's love, you can just come back to God.
I don't know where you at. But if you've wandered
(09:26):
away from the Lord, and maybe you've not been living
the way you should, there's no shame in telling me that.
But just say, Jesus, I've not been living the way
I should. Lord. I ask you to come into my
heart forgive me and my sins. Being my savior. I
rededicate my heart and my life to you. I come
back to you, Lord, because you know what, God's love
for you is unconditional. Even though you think you're disconnected,
(09:51):
God's love has always been reaching out to you, even
when you didn't realize it. And if truth is always
there for you. So don't feel disconnected, get reconnected. How's that?
Don't feel disconnected? Get reconnected. Don't don't live in shame
and condemnation. Don't beat yourself up, pick yourself up and say, Lord,
(10:15):
I'm coming to you. I need to get reconnected to
your love and your truth. Another reason why people experience
depression is chronic stress, anxiety, and burnout. Man, throughout my life,
I've met many workaholics that just work, work, work, work, work,
twenty four to seven. Now I gotta admit being in
(10:36):
the ministry, I can do the very same thing. That's
why I take time to slow down. Stop. I mean,
you gotta have quiet time. You've got to have a
place of quietness. You got to have time off. Very important.
Another reason why people experience depression is deep guilt, unresolved anger,
or shame. You know. Along with this, I'm gonna say
(10:59):
keeping secret. Oh yeah, something that has happened to you
and has been festering down in your soul for years,
and you've had it there and you've not felt like
you could tell anybody about that. That will cause you
so much mental health problems, and God wants to heal
you from that. Another reason is a loss of identity
(11:21):
and purpose. Man, When you lose your identity and you
lose your purpose, there's no reason to go on. But
I want to say to this, your identity is not
in the world. It's not in what other people say
about you. Your identity is what God says about you.
God says your love, chosen, wanted treasure. Man, He loves
(11:43):
you and your purpose. You might say, well, I don't
know what my purpose is no more. I think I
blew it. I think my purpose is going. No, it's
not gone. It's still there for you. You know, if
you're listening to me. You know, when I do these programs,
I realize I'm talking to one. Per Oh, I know
I'm talking to more than one, but I'm just focusing
(12:03):
on you, the one that's listening to me right now,
the one listening to my voice. Your purpose is not gone.
You've not blown it so bad that your purpose is gone.
God loves you and he wants you. Another reason and
the final reason I've listened. I know there's probably more reasons,
but a medical or chemical imbalances, and that is where
(12:25):
you need to go to your doctor and say, hey,
I need I need a blood test, I need help.
Maybe I've got a chemical imbalance I'm dealing with and
that's why I'm depressed. And at Spiritual Care Consultants, we
believe in healing spirit soul body. And my partner, doctor
Troy Carlson, a family try medical he he's a medical doctor.
(12:47):
He helped me form this healing ministry and we believe
in spirit soul body that you might have things going
on in your body that's contributing to the depression and
if you can get help for them and medication for them,
you can feel a lot better. By the way, there
is nothing wrong with taking medication. And yes, I believe
(13:08):
in healing. Absolutely believe in healing. And here's what I say.
When the Lord has totally healed you, your doctor will
confirm it. Because you're doing better, a blood test might
be able to confirm it. So God gives you a
doctor's ability to make medicine to help us. And so
(13:29):
just because you have to take medication for a while,
does it mean you're spiritually weak or you don't have faith? No, no, no,
no no. God gives us all kinds of ways to
find the healing we need. You know what spiritual care
consultants our approach to healing. You know, I got six
things I want to talk about. Number one is compassionate listening.
(13:52):
People begin to heal when they're truly heard. When was
the last time someone truly heard you? Wow? Think about that. Secondly,
by removing soul slippers, we prayerfully identify the hidden lines
and wounds and fears that are buried in your soul.
And those are the things you want. You want God
(14:14):
to heal you from the pain of those things. Right,
It's not impossible, because nothing's impossible with God. Number Three,
speaking truth and identity through scripture and spirited counsel, we
help people see themselves through God's eyes. When I said
you're a treasure, what did you think if I said,
(14:36):
go stand in front of your mirror and look at yourself,
would you think you're handsome? Or beautiful or would you
think you're ugly? God made you and created you just
the way you are. Number four encountering God's presence. Healing
often happens in stillness and prayer and in the general
presence of the Holy Spirit. So many times in the
(14:59):
inner healing properm says in spiritual Care, we have seen
people healed in the inner healing time as the Lord
has come in its quietness, in his presence and take
the pain, and He's taken the pain out of the memory.
And so encountering God's presence. And number five equipping with
(15:19):
practical tools you know forgiveness, journaling, true statements, scripture, meditations
are key to restoring the soul. Number six treating the
whole person. We may collaborate with Christian counselors, doctors and
pastors as needed. And seven we have amazing follow up
(15:43):
plan that covers three years. And point number eight spiritual care.
And what we do is at no cost to the
people coming in because we have donors who help pay
for our service. Says. Now, if you're a businessmanner, you
have wealth and you're looking for a good place to invest,
(16:06):
contact me. I'd like to hear from you. My personal
email is Gail at Spiritualcareconsultants dot com, Gaale at Spiritualcareconsultants
dot com. We have a team of thirty seven people
in our healing centers in Hastings, Michigan based on a
family Tree Medical. We've got about a fifteen hundred square
(16:29):
foot place and we have a great team waiting to
help you. And I wanted to end with some thoughts.
I wanted to end with some scriptures that would be
good for you to really meditate on, Like if you're
dealing with depression, you've got to control what's happening in
your mind. I'm just gonna read these scriptures Romans twelve
(16:51):
to two. Do not be conformed to the pattern of
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test the to prove
what God's will is is good, pleasing, and perfect will
two Corinthians ten to five. We demolish arguments in every
pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God,
(17:12):
and we take every taught and make it obedient to
Christ Philippians four eight. Finally, my brothers, just like a
good pastor was saying when he was ending his sermon
in closing when it never ends Philippians four eight. Finally,
my brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble,
(17:33):
whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever
is admirable, if anything is excellent or praise worthy, think
about such things. Isaiah twenty sixty three. You will keep
him in perfect peace, whose mind is steadfast because he
trust in you if Heasions four twenty two to twenty four.
(17:53):
You were taught in regard to the former way of life,
to put off your old self to be made new
in the attitude of your minds, and to put on
the new self created to be like God in true
righteousness and holiness. Pone nineteen, verse eleven. I have hidden
your word in my heart that I might not sin
against thee Joshua one eight. Keep this book of the
(18:18):
Law always on your lips. Meditate on it day and night,
so that you may be careful to do everything written therein.
Then you will be prosperous and successful Colossians three twelve.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
John eight thirty two. Then you will know the truth,
(18:42):
and the truth will set you free. Wow, what what
what great scriptures? I mean, the Bible is full of scriptures.
You know, you could everybody's got iPhones and all that
today you could put into Google. You could put in
Please give me a list of Bible scriptures that are
positive that would be good for me to meditate on
(19:04):
and hit enter, and you'd be surprised how many scriptures
you'll find. I mean, the scriptures will just go on
and on and on. So I just want to say
that God loves you. I pray that this program hiding depression.
I pray that this program has really spoke to you.
I pray that if you're struggling with depression, you would
(19:27):
be encouraged by the words that I've given you today.
A final word of hope. Healing from depression is not
about trying harder. It's about inviting Jesus deeper. Through scripture,
spirit led care, authentic connection, minds can be renewed and
souls restored. Isaiah sixty one, verse three says he will
(19:49):
give a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil
of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead
of despair. That is our mission at Spiritual Care to
walk with people and help them get free from despair
to healing, one soul at a time, one person at
a time. So I don't know where you're listening at
(20:09):
right now, and I don't know what you're going through,
but I want you to know there's hope in Jesus
and he loves you. If you want to learn about Spiritualcareconsultants,

that I'm just seeing a person crying. I don't know
who you are, but God sees you.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Lord, in the name of Jesus, the name that is
higher than any other name. Through that powerful name and
through the blood of Jesus, I bind tormenting spirits of depression, suicide, anxiety.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Lord. I know those are natural human emotions, but when
they get bad, I know there's demonic spirits that can
be behind that. And I release peace instead of torment,
hope instead of depression, light instead of darkness. In the
name of Jesus, I pray right now that you would
restore people's hopes, that you would let them know that
(22:07):
you are the God of the impossible. You can do
what others say no one can do. And Lord, I
asked that you would bless and keep people. I ask
God that let the angels of having wrap their wings
around those that are hurting and in need of care
this morning. In the name of Jesus. Amen, Well, I
