Speaker 1 (00:18):
As I began to record this program, a thought came
to my mind, and I like to share those thoughts
with you. The thought was specifically, how important you are?
You the one that is listening right now. I don't
know how many are listening right now, but whoever it is,
God wants you to know that you matter to Him

(00:41):
and that you are important to him. And I think
many times people go through life and they're like, does
my life even count? Does my life even matter? The
answer is yes, your life counts. In your life matters.
So I want to open this program with prayer. My
name is Pastor Gale, and I am sure glad that.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
You've chose to join me. Let's pray.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Lord, I want to thank you for everyone joining me
this program, either early on the morning or either later
by podcasts. Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray
that your presence would touch each person wherever they're at.
I pray that their car, the room, the place or
they're at would be flooded with your presence and with

(01:28):
your power.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Lord.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
I pray that everyone would know that they're important and
that their life matters to God. And so Lord, I
pray that you would strengthen the people that are out
there and just speak to their hearts, and may the
word that I have this morning be the very thing
that gives them the strength to get through their day.

(01:52):
In the name of Jesus Amen. Now, my titles and
my themes for the program just kind of come to
me when I'm in prayer.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
They just come to me out of the blues.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
So as I'm recording the program and it's coming out
to you, guys, I don't have a lot of notes
in front of me. I basically have a theme the
Lord has given me and some scriptures that I want
to share with you that I believe will be comforting
and encouraging to your heart. The theme that came to

(02:24):
me in the early morning hours was the theme hold on.
And I think there's a lot of people in today's
society they're just trying to hold on. They're just praying
that they would have the strength to hold on and
make it through the day, or make it through the week,
or make it through their month, or make it to payday.

(02:47):
They're just trying to hold on.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
And so.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I thought I'd google hold on and see how many
times it appears in the Bible.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Now I'm not going to.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Quote every scripture that came up up, but here are
a few of them. Revelation three eleven, I Am coming soon.
This is Jesus speaking, hold on to what you have
so that no one will take your crown. Well, let's
just talk about that for a moment. We live in
a day where people say there's no absolutes. The Bible

(03:21):
isn't it's just a story book. But to me, the
Bible is the infallible word of the living God, and
so I will hold on to what the Bible teaches,
and I won't let it go. Now, today's world might
be saying, well, you know, you're off and narrow minded
holding on to that Bible.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
But you know, the Bible has.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Been around forever and it has endured a lot of things.
To me, the Bible is final instructions before leaving earth,
and so I hold my Bible in great reverence and
great honor. In fact, I've had my one Bible like
twenty years and if you looked at it, it's duct

(04:02):
taped on the outside of the cover, but you can't
tell that because I have it in a Bible cover.
But I love this Bible. I've read it old and
I'm going to hold on to it. I'm not going
to let go. He said, hold on to what you
have so that no one can take your crown. Don't
let anyone talk you out of what God has showed

(04:24):
you in his word. Hold on to it, keep it
in your heart, treasure it. Don't let anyone talk you
out of it. Hebrews ten twenty three. Let us hold
on swervingly to the hope we profess, for he who
promised is faithful. Now I have a hope in Jesus Christ,

(04:45):
and He's the way, the truth.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
In the life and the only way to heaven.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
I have a hope, and I believe that the Bible
is the inerr and infallible word of God, and sin
is sin is right, and right wrong is wrong. Now,
some people might attack me for those views, but I
will not let go of those views.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I will hold.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Onto them unswervingly, because that's where my hope is in.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
My hope is in God's Word. My hope is in
the Lord. And so.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
In a day where everything is moving, everything is changing,
everybody is standing on shifting ground. You know, I love
that old song on Christ the solid rock I stand.
All other ground is sinking stand. All other ground is
sinking sand. And so when everybody else doesn't know where

(05:41):
to turn, I know where to turn.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
It's the Jesus. He is the rock on which I stand.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
You know, we used to sing that little song in
Sunny screwl The wise man built his house upon the rock,
and the rains came a tumbling down. The rains came down,
and the floods went up. The rains came down, and
the floods went up. The rains came down, and the
floods went up, and the house on the rock stood.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Fast or firm.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
The foolish man built his house upon the sand. The
rains came down, and the floods went up. The rains
came down, and the floods went up, and the house
built on.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
The sand went flat.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
And so Jesus Christ is the rock on which we stand.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
He is who we look to. He is the way,
the truth in the life.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
And I thank you that we can stand on him
because he is faithful not only to himself, he is
faithful to his word. So the promises of God in
the Bible are yea and Amen in Christ, and so

(06:57):
we can claim them. One Timothy six point twelve. Fight
the good fight of faith. Take hold of eternal life
to what you were called when you made the good confession.
In the presence of many witnesses, he says, take hold
of eternal life. You know, the older I get now,

(07:20):
I'm not real old. I'm gonna be sixty four this year.
I don't feel sixty four, But that's how old I'm
gonna be. The older I get, the more I realize
that the enemy will come to try to discourage me,
or to get to get me to give up on
the thing that God has called me to do. But

(07:41):
you know what, I'm determined to hold on and not
let go. I am going to hold on to Jesus.
I am going to hold on to the Bible. I'm
gonna hold on to the Holy Spirit. And I'm not
gonna let go, and I'm not gonna look back. I'm
going to keep my eyes on Jesus, the Author and

(08:03):
the perfector of my faith. Now, I don't know. I
don't know what you're going through out there, and I
don't know. You might be discouraged. You might say, well,
I hardly have enough strength to go another step.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Well, I pray that Jesus in your.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Hard times would be with you, and that he would
carry you through every situation that you are finding yourself in.
I pray that He would give you the strength to
fight the good fight of faith. Deuteronomy thirteen four. It
is the Lord, your God. You must follow him, and

(08:40):
you must revere him, keep his commands and obey him,
serve him.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Hold fast to him. See that's what the enemy does.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
He comes to get you, to change your direction, just
by a little bit, to change your belief, just by
a little bit, and before you know it, you are
way off track, and you are not headed in the
direction that God wants you to go in. So we
must follow the Lord. We must hold fast to him.

(09:16):
We must hold on Romans twelve nine. Love must be sincere,
hate what is ebel, and cling to what is good. Boy,
you see this in the world today. You see all
kinds of hate in the world today. You know, we're

(09:36):
living in an election here, and people are riled up,
people are mad, people are angry. Well, love must be sincere,
hate what is evil, and cling to what is good.
John twenty seventeen. I love this verse. Jesus said, do
not hold on to me, for I have not ascended

(09:59):
to the go instead to my brothers and tell them
I am sending to my father and your father, to
my God and your God. This was Jesus talking to
Mary just before he rose from the dead. But Jesus
told her to go ahead of them and tell the
brothers that he was risen from the dead. You know,
the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the thing that sets

(10:23):
Christianity off amongst all the other religion. Jesus isn't dead.
He is alive, he is alive, he is well. He's
not dead one Corinthians fifteen, Verses one and two. Now,
brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the

(10:44):
gospel I preached to you on which you have taken
your stand. By this gospel, you are saved if you
hold firmly to the word I preach you. Otherwise you
would have believed in vain. And you know what the
gospel is, that Jesus was God, the Son who came
in the flesh, the way, the truth, and the life,

(11:07):
that he came from heaven to earth, that he lived
a sinless life, that he died on a rugged cross
and was put in a tomb. But then on the
third day he rose bodily from the grave, appeared to
over five hundred people, and then later ascended into heaven

(11:28):
and is now sitting on the right hand of the Father.
And so that is the gospel. There's no other name
under heaven which man may be saved. You know, a
lot of people think they can be saved in a
lot of different ways. There's only one way to be saved,
and it's through Jesus Christ. And we've got to hold on.
We can't give up. We've got to fight the good

(11:50):
fight of faith. You know, it just seems like when
you turn on the news, it's something negative to the
right and something negative to the left, and this person
is saying that, and another person is saying that, and
this person has done this, and you don't hardly.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Know who to believe, you really don't. We have to
pray that God would.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Give us discernment as we're holding on to the good,
As we're clinging to the good and we're rejecting the evil.
We have to pray that God would give us discernment
to know what is evil and what is good, because
something that looks good on the outside isn't always good.

(12:31):
You find out later it's not so ask God for discernment.
Ask God to show you what to do, and he
will guide you. He will lead you, he will direct you.
He will The Bible says that the steps of the
righteous are ordered of God. So my steps and your

(12:51):
steps have been ordered by the Lord. Even when we
don't feel like it.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
The Lord is working in our lives, even when we
don't feel like it.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
He is ordaining our steps. I remember I was in
this two hours or three hours away from where we live,
and I was walking into a coffee shop with a
pastor friend of mine, and we came upon a young
man who had a black widow spider stamped upon his

(13:21):
chest and he was sitting there and I could just
see it in his shirt line, and I said to him,
black widow spider, what does that mean to you? He said, well,
that means comfort to me. The boy spiders don't. They're
not comforting to me. And I just began to talk
to him about the Lord and showed him a book

(13:42):
that I had just recently published, God Moments, and I
had the book Jesus in the Mountains there and he
shared he had never been in church, but he was interesting.
So he took a God Moment's book. And then when
he's leaving, he said, can I have that Jesus in
the Mountains book too? And I said sure, and I
gave him a Jesus in the Mountains book. And I

(14:04):
think he was a young man, he was in college.
He was just trying to hold on, make it through
the semester, make it through the day, and I think
he had been going through some real hard times. Now,
when I'm back up there doing a service again, I
hope I get to meet him in the future, because
I would love to meet him. You know. The other
thing when I think about holding on, I love to

(14:26):
wash these rock climbers. I don't know how they do it,
but they're going up a rock face wall of a mountain.
They're going straight up, and all they have is a
little rope, and they're they're going a little by little.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
They're hanging on.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
They're nailing their whatever they call them, spikes they put
in the mountains, and they hooked their car dow and
they're hanging on for dear life. I don't ever know
how they do that. I know that I would be
paralyzed with fear. I can never do that, And so
I love watching them as they climb those those mountains

(15:02):
and I'm thinking how they do that? Then I like
to watch I know it's a TV show, American Ninja
woy Or.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
I like to watch that.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
I like to watch them go through the obstacle courses
as they fly through the air and they have to
grab these obstacles and hang on to them, and their
grip is everything. If they lose their grip, they fall
into the water and then they're done. But I love
to watch them like and then go up to that
big wall and if they can get to the top

(15:31):
and put their hand on top and go up and
pass the button, if they can hold on and do that,
it's pretty I love to watch American ninjaoy Or. I know,
I like to watch stuff like that and just for
people have to do amazing feats, you know, and it
seems like walking with the Lord is an amazing feet

(15:51):
or it seems like day to day life can be
pretty difficult. You might feel like you're climbing a rock wall.
You don't know if you're gonna let go of your grip.
I don't know if you're gonna make it. But you've
been going through this hard time for a long period
of time and you're just trying to hold on. Well,
the good news is the Lord wants you to know

(16:12):
he's with you. He wants you to know he cares
about you. He wants you to know that you're not alone.
I Love Isaiah forty one ten. Fear thou not, for
I am with thee, Be not dismayed. For I am
thy God. I will strengthen the yea. I will uphold
you with my righteous right hand. And the Bible says
that Jesus is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

(16:35):
So no matter what you're going through, I don't care
if you feel like you're all alone and no one
knows what you're going through.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Jesus knows.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
He's aware, and he cares, and he knows right where
you're at right now. He knows right where you're at.
And I know I'm speaking to someone this morning, or
you might be listening to this later by podcast. I'm
speaking to someone this morning. You just need to know
that the Lord cares, and that is why my voice

(17:05):
is out at one am in the morning. This first
goes on what FM one O six point nine. The
Heirs later as a as a podcast, but Jesus wants
you to.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Know that you care and that you are important to him.
So don't give up.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Keep fighting the good fight of faith, keep believing, even
when all the odds are against you. Hold on, never
give up, hold on. Be like a bulldog, a bite
on that thing, and don't let go.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
That's what my grandma was like. She would believe in.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
The face of all odds and she would be victorious.
One day she was dying and she was in intensive
care and the doctor said to us, well, you know
your grandma, She's not gonna make the night. And the
next morning Grandma called the doctor to the room and
she said, doctor, I'm gonna to get out of here

(18:01):
soon and.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
I'm going to go home. And the doctor said, well,
how do you know that.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
She said, well, I talked to Jesus last night and
he gave me fifteen more years to live. You know
that woman held on for another fifteen years, and I
mean she had extreme asthma. I remember several trips to
the er in Zealand Michigan, where I didn't think as
a kid that my grandma was going to hold on,

(18:28):
that she was going to be able to make it,
because her asthma was so bad. You know, Grandma held
on to things. She kept her faith despite all trials,
despite any circumstances going on. She kept holding on. She
said to me one day, you know, when you don't

(18:50):
know what to do, when you don't know what's going on,
remember this, I know whom I have believed, that em
persuaded that he is able to keep that which I've
committed onto him against that day. So she never gave
up hope. She never gave up her trusting God, and
she never gave up God's word. And she always hung

(19:13):
on to her Bible and had that big rock and
chair in that big Bible. And that's what she did.
That's a memory that I'll have stamped in my mind forever,
Grandma rocking in the rock and chair reading that Bible
because she had put her hope, she had put her
faith and trust in God, and she was going to
hold on to the end.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
She was not going to let go. Even when she
was dying. My mom said to.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Me, you need to get home from Canada for Bible College,
because she's not going to die until you get home.
So she's holding on just to see you, you know,
And I've seen people do this time and time again,
they will hold on just to see a particular person.
God has them to see how you doing. Are you

(20:01):
holding on out there? Are you right with Jesus? Are
you walking with Jesus? If you're not right with him,
pray this prayer after me. Just say, Jesus, I know
I'm a sinner. I asked you to come into my
heart forgive me of my sins. Be my savior, teach
me to walk with you each and every day. I

(20:25):
accept you, Lord. It's my Lord and my Savior in
the name of Jesus.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Amen. Now I want to pray for you, Lord.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
I pray for those this morning that are just trying
to hold on.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
They're just trying to.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Either make it through the day, make it through the night,
make it through the month, make it to the house,
payments done.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
I don't know what the problem is.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
I don't know what the situations they are they're facing.
But Lord, if you can part the water of the
Jordan River and the Red Sea, you surely can make
a way through our circumstances so we can get on
the other side and we can have breakthrough and you
can take care of us. So Father, I pray for
those that need breakthrough tonight. Those who need to know

(21:10):
that you care and that you love them and that
you care about them. Lord, I pray you would be
with ease person and I pray they would know they
are never, never, never alone. I'm really glad that you
