Speaker 1 (00:16):
Good morning everybody, pastor gaalewa. He only begins radio. I
don't know what you're doing this morning. I hope y'all
having a good day or a good morning, depending on
when you're listening to this. Maybe you're hearing me on
Wood one O six point nine would have m one
am in the morning. And if you are welcome, what

(00:37):
are you doing? Why are you up so early in
the morning? And I pray that God would bless your day.
I pray for those that will listen to this later
by podcasts that you would bless them as they listen,
and that your presence and power would come through this message.

(00:57):
Let me pray right now in the name of Jesus.
I pray that I would be guided by the Holy
Spirit in the words that I'm about to speak. I
pray that your presence and your power would go through
my voice. I pray for those that feel like they're

(01:17):
about to give up because they're just sick of life.
I pray that today they would have hope, they would
have encouragement. I pray that today they would know that
they are loved by you, even though maybe they feel
like they've blown it, or maybe they feel like they're
so lost in the sins they've committed are so great

(01:40):
that you could never love them. Lord, that is all
a lie, because you love us all, you died for us. All.
In the name of Jesus, I pray for your precious
holy Spirit to encourage the saints this morning in the
name of Jesus. Amen. The title I've chosen for this
message is why does God allows storms? And I mean

(02:02):
storms in the spiritual sense of the word. But as
I say that, I'm reminded of my father growing up.
We grew up in Diamond Springs, Michigan, and my dad
loved to watch storms. In fact, we were well prepared
when they came to storms. He had dug a storm
cellar out back of the house and totally buried it

(02:23):
onto the ground, and then there was a door come
up out of the ground. And when there was a
bad storm, we would go in the storm cellar and
we would stay there till the storm pass by. And
I remember going outside watching the clouds, watching the bad
weather come in, and my dad would try to teach
us about storms and about what certain clouds meant. And

(02:47):
I remember one time watching clouds off in the distance
and we saw a tornado go by, and we just
watching the storms. And one thing about physical storms is
they have a timestamp, so they have a time when
they will be over. But then there are the storms
we go through spiritually speaking where I mean and working

(03:11):
in a trauma center for eighteen years, I gotta tell
you something. I have seen people go through sheer hell,
and I pray to God I never experienced some of
what I saw. I've been with people in the midst
of their storm, and their storm became my storm, even
though I didn't know them. If you're with someone in

(03:31):
a storm, you're gonna feel it, and their storm can
become your storm really quick. You can feel the grief
they're going through. You can feel the pain they're going through.
Maybe it's a storm of a loss of a loved one,
I don't know. Maybe it's a loss of a job,
or maybe you are just recently diagnosed with a sickness
or a disease and you were given a proclamation by

(03:54):
the doctor that you're gonna make it, put your affairs
in order. Good news is that Jesus knows the time
and date that you're going to meet him. That's the
good news. And so even though a doctor might speak
something over our life. I look to Jesus. He's in
control of my times. He's in control of my seasons

(04:16):
and the storms that we go through in life. Listen,
when he called us, he knew what we would go through.
He knew the end from the beginning. So there comes
a part in all this where you have to say,
you know what. I'm going through some things here, but
I'm going to trust my life into God's hands. I'm
going to trust that somehow He's going to see me through.
Maybe I don't know how he's going to do it,

(04:38):
but Lord, I trust you to get me through this storm.
And the Lord will get you through the storm. And
so he doesn't cause them to happen. He allows them
to happen. And one of the reasons he allows them
to happen is to reveal his power and presence. I mean,
I've been through some bad things with people, don't get
me wrong. I mean it's hard to understand the why.

(05:02):
That is one thing I'll never get the answer to
do on this side of heaven. Why was that person
allowed to go through that? Why did they have to
go through it? I don't know, but I know one thing,
and I want you to hear this that Jesus is
with you in your storm. You are not alone. If
you are a believer and you have put your hope

(05:23):
and your faith in Jesus Christ, and you've asked forgiveness
of your sins, and you're filled with the precious Holy Spirit,
you're on the way to heaven. And you know. I
was listening to Pastor Danny from a Glacia Vida in
Grand Rampa's preached one night and he said, Christians don't die.

(05:44):
And I knew what he was saying that as Christians,
we have eternal life. Our bodies might die, but we're
going to go on to be with the Lord. Paul said,
to be absent from the body is to be present
with the Lord. And in a storm that happened on
the Sea of Galilee with the disciples, the Lord told

(06:05):
them to go to the other side of the lake,
and he was asleep in the boat, and this storm
came up, and they all thought they were going to die.
And in that situation in Mark chapter four thirty five
through forty one, God used the storm so he could
reveal his power and presence to his disciples. When the

(06:26):
storm was going on, he stood up, and he said,
peace be still. And the winds and the waves went quiet.
And the disciples said, what matter? Man? Is us that
even the winds and the waves obey him? So storms
allow God to reveal his power and presence. Number two,

(06:48):
Storms build our faith in our character Romans five, three
through five. We also glory in our sufferings because we
know that suffering produces us perseverance, and perseverance character and
character hope James one two through four. Consider it pure

(07:09):
joy when you face trials of many kind. Why because
you know the testing of your faith produces spiritual maturity.
I don't count it joy. I don't like it when
I'm going through a storm. That's just a natural reaction.
But when I'm in a storm, I tend to say, God,

(07:31):
I need your help. What do you want to show me?
And I know that spiritual storms come and spiritual storms go,
and that God is with me. Thirdly, God will allow
storms to redirect our path we're walking on spiritually. In

(07:52):
the story of Jonah Jonah chapter one one through seventeen,
God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, but Jonah didn't
want to go to Ninevah. He goes, I'm going to
go to Tarsus and said, so he got in the
boat and he went the wrong direction. And as they
were going out on the ocean, God allowed a storm

(08:13):
to come up, and Jonah said to the people, if
you throw me overboard, the storm will stop. And they
threw Jonah overboard, and God provided a big fish to
swallow him, and that fish took him all the way
to Nineba and peeped him out on shore. So God
can use the storm to redirect our path. When a

(08:33):
storm comes, I often like to say to the Lord,
what are you doing? And why am I experiencing this?
Very important questions? And then I wait on God to
show me. Now, he might not show me right away,
what are you doing? And why am I going through this?
He might not show me right away, but he will
show me. And so when I'm going through a storm,
I like to ask the Lord those questions. Number four.

(08:57):
A storm can bring about repentance and humility. Second Chronicle
seven thirteen and fourteen says, when I shut up to
heaven so that there's no rain, If my people who
are called by my name mull, humble themselves and pray
and hear from heaven, then when will I hear their
prayer and heal their land. And you know, sometimes storms

(09:20):
are a wake up call for us, Hey, why are
you going in that direction? Storms aren't necessarily a bad thing,
though the enemy plans storms to destroy you. And God
will take a storm and use it for his glory.
It says in Roma's eight twenty eight. All things work
together for good to those that love God and are

(09:43):
called according to His purpose. For those that God fore
knew He did predestined to be conformed to the image
of his son. So a storm can bring about repentance
and humility. When you read the Book of Revelation, the
whole purpose, so the great tribulation and all the bad
things that are going to go on, is so that

(10:04):
people might repent and turn to the Living God. But
they never do. And so number five another reason for
the storm is to fulfill his bigger plan for our life.
In nect chapter twenty seven, Paul is going to testify
in Rome before Caesar. But on the way to where
he gets to go, a bad storm arises. I mean,

(10:27):
Paul's involved with a shipwreck and then he gets on
the island, and just when he was free from the shipwreck,
he gets met by a viper, but he throws it
off into the fire and it doesn't hurt him. And
so you can be going in the right direction. And
the reason the storm is happening is the enemy is
trying to give you to give up. The enemy's trying

(10:49):
to get you to turn around. You know. Pastor Christian
in Costa Rica always says, if it's going to be
a Christian, Christian, being a Christian is not for cry babies.
We teach those that come away from the gangs, away
from the drug lords, that being a Christian could cost
their life and it's not for cry babies. And so

(11:10):
if you're out there, I want you to know that
being a Christian is not always easy. Sometimes it's downright tough.
But I read the end of the book we went
the devils, I know what's coming. Number six Storms teaches
us to rely on Him and not ourselves. Wow, tewond

(11:33):
Corinthians one eight and nine. We were under great pressure
so that we might not rely on ourselves, but God,
who raises the dead. Storms strip away our self reliance.
They force us to depend on God and to cry
out to Him and to experience the strength and our weakness.
They humble us. They remind us that we are not

(11:55):
in control, but He is. Wow. Another reason storms are,
and we see this point number seven, is to demonstrate
his deliverance and his glory. In the Book of John,
when you read about the death of Lazarth, God tells

(12:16):
his disciples, or Jesus tells his disciples because Jesus was God,
that lazarus death would be for the glory of God,
because God, knowing the end from the beginning, and Jesus,
knowing the end from the beginning, knew that when he
got to where Lazarth was buried, he was going to

(12:36):
raise Lazarth from the dead, and that raising of Lazarth
from the dead would cause many people to put their
faith and trust in Jesus Christ. And so sometimes God
often uses the storm for his glory when he brings
about deliverance, healing, and provision in the midst of the storm,

(12:57):
and he gives people peace when they should be panicking.
The Bible says that we can have peace that pass
us all understanding, that would guard our hearts in minds,
in Christ Jesus. So to demonstrate his deliverance and glory.
Sometimes God allows storms. God doesn't waste anything we go through.

(13:18):
He doesn't waste the spiritual storms. They may not make
any sense at the moment, but He is always there
and He always has a purpose, whether to strengthen, redirect, humble,
and reveal himself, or to restore us. He is always
working through them for our good and his glory. The

(13:39):
question is why the storm? The question is what is
God doing in the storm? Boy? Those are good questions,
aren't they. So what's your storm you're going through? I'd
like to hear about it. Why don't you email me

(15:09):
what storm you are in, the trial that you're going through.
How we can pray for you? Send me your prayer request.
Love to hear from you. Now, I want to spend
some time just praying for you. Lord. I thank you.
You know exactly where people are at. There is no
one on the face of this planet that you don't

(15:30):
know where they're at. Lord. And remember of the words
of David. He said, when I rise, you are there,
if I make my bed, and how you are there? Lord.
Basically David was saying there's nowhere I can go or
you're not there. I thank you Lord for your words
and say I will never leave you. I will never

(15:52):
forsake you. I will always be with you. I thank
you that you are the good shepherd of the sheep,
that when one was lost, you left the shelter of
the sheep pen to look for the one that was lost.
I thank you, Lord, that you are the father and
the story of the prodigal Son, that when the prodigal

(16:12):
son left and went to another country and spent all
his inheritance, and when he was doing all the wrong living,
one day he came he decided to come back home.
And Lord, as he was walking down the path to
come back home, you were waiting for him, and you
ran to meet him, and you threw your arms around him,

(16:33):
and you welcomed him back into the family as a son. Lord.
I thank you Lord, that there's no one out there
under the sound of my voice today that you can't save.
There's no one out there that you can't heal and
deliver from their situation. I thank you for the story
of Shadrack, Mishak, and Benego who were in the fiery furnace,
but they weren't in it alone because there was a

(16:55):
fourth man in the fire with him. I thank you
for Dan, who, because of what he was doing because
of how he was living, was thrown into a den
of hungry lions. But you, Lord, sent the angel and
shut the lion's mouth. Lord, I pray for those that
are feeling like they're an a dentum lions, that you

(17:17):
would send an angel to shut the lion's mouth, that
you would protect him. Then I'm reminded of Peter, who
Herod put in prison because he had planned to kill him.
The next day he was chained up between four squads
of shoulders, and the angel came and sent him free. Lord.

(17:38):
I pray for those that feel like they'rein impossible situations
there's no way they can get out. Lord, there's always
a way, because nothing is impossible with you, Dear God,
I pray for those that have lost job, lost work,
and don't know where they're going to get their next

(17:58):
buck from. Lord, you are Jehovah, Jirah. You are our provider.
You're the one that provides, you're the one that takes
care of us, and you're the one that walks with
us each and every day. Lord, I thank you, I
thank you that you're with us. I pray right now,
and even as I'm praying, I'm seeing the angels go
out on the airwaves. They're coming to the situations. They're

(18:21):
coming to the people that are listening. Right now, I
see the angels going out to you. They're being dispatched
to your location. Lord. The Bible says that Psal I'm
thirty four to seven. The Angel of the Lord in
camps around those that love and fear him, and he
delivers them. Lord. The Bible says that Hebrews one fourteen
that the angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minister

(18:45):
to those that are errors of salvation, and some one
or three. Verse twenty says that the angels do the
word of God. And just like when Jesus was in
the gardens suffering before the crucivixion, you sent an angel
to strength and administer to him. I pray right now

(19:05):
that the angels of God would be sent to those
that are suffering right now under the sound of my voice,
those that are struggling right now, and I pray that
the angels would strengthen them and help them through the
power of the Holy Spirit. I come against the enemy
and the name of Jesus. I pray that the light
of Heaven would pierce the darkness, that the enemy would

(19:25):
be bound. I thank you for the scripture that says,
no upon formed against you shall prosper, and you shall
refute every tongue that rises up against you in judgment.
I thank you for Psalm twenty seven. The Lord is
my Light and my salvation. Of whom shall I be afraided.
I thank you for Psalm ninety one. He who dwells
in the shelter of the Most High will rest into

(19:48):
the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord,
he is my refuse, my fortress, my God, and him
will I trust. Surely he will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings we shall take refuge. Lord, I
pray that you would cover people with your wings, with
your presence, with your angels. I pray for those that

(20:09):
are weak, that you had strengthened him with power and
your presence right now, because you said, Lord, when we
are weak, you are strong. I pray for those that
are depressed, that you would give them the garment of
His praise instead of the spirit of heavin us. I
pray for those that feel like they can't go another step,

(20:31):
that you had put a song in their mouth in
the name of Jesus. Lord, I thank you that Isaiah says,
the spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because
he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has set me to bind up the broken hearted,
to send it liberally those that are keptive. Lord, I

(20:53):
just pray that you would release the prisoners from the dungeons.
I thank you for Paul and Silence, Lord, for their
example in scripture. They were at an impossible situation. It
looked like there was no hope. They were locked and
in stocks in the inner soul. It looked impossible. Their
backs were bleeding. But in the middle of the night,

(21:16):
you gave them a song, and you sent an earthquake,
and you unlocked the prison doors. You set them free.
I pray that you would unlock prison doors for people.
I pray that you would open the prison doors where
they're at. And I pray that you would unlock situations
that have been locked for years. I pray you would
give people answers the situations. I pray that you get

(21:38):
people strategies they need, and I pray that your light
would shine upon their path. Lord. The Bible says, your
word is a lamp onto my feet and a light
onto my path. Lord, light the way where it stark,
show people the way. I thank you PHRASEAAH ten fourteen.
I the Lord will take you by the right hand

(21:58):
and we'll walk with you. Lord, I thank you that
you're with us and we're not alone. In the name
of Jesus a man well. Like I said, I'd love
to hear from you. My email is Share and Healing

(22:19):
May the Lord bless you, May the Lord keep you.
May the Lord causes face to shine upon you, be

that you're not in the storm alone, that He is
with you and will guide you in the storm, will

(22:40):
come to it in and he will see you through.
I pray that God would bless you. I pray y'all
