Speaker 1 (00:00):
God, I had no idea. I can't help it.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Okay, this is my voice, and if you're not used
to it by now, we just did a little test
run with our microphones and Foalan said, my voice sounded
krusty and I've already done the morning show. So I said, well, great,
that's my Monday voice.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
I wear that up a little bit so we don't
lose podcast listener.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I was busy in hailing paint and like cleaning supplies
yesterday in my kitchen.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Okay, I can't help what I sound like. Ginny, that's
actually how you make your living, so you do need
to actually make that your most important priority is your instrument.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Okay, that's not how I make my living. It's not
OnlyFans you wish I know.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Hi, what's up? Welcome to that I'm still fun podcast
where we're going to talk and vocal fry. We hung
out this weekend. We hung out on Friday. I made
a soup.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
You did, so let me tell you something funny that happened.
Tina and I had hung out a couple nights before
to watch Survivor and she was like, wait, what did
I bringing again?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Whatever?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
And she was like, when did we decide to do chili,
and I was like, I'm going to be honest, I'm
pretty sure Fallen had a whole thought process in her
head of how this night was going to go, and
then she just approached it with like, so I'm going
to make the or I'm going to bring the chili
over or whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
But she didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Actually text us about that, because both Tina and I
were surprised when we had this whole plan for chili
and you never told us about it, which was fine, I.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Don't think it's true, old please, So I know we.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Talked about having like a fall night and like stuff
like that, but I don't think you ever said anything
about like I'm going to make a white chicken chili.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Okay, that's possible. But I thought I mentioned okay, I
don't let me go way back. Yeah, we were planning dates.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Because like if it was way back, but I thought
I was the one who just missed a text. But
then Tina said the same thing, so I was like, Okay,
I just feel like maybe Fallen had it in her
brain that this is what was going to happen. She
didn't realize she didn't actually text us about it.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I don't know that is possible, but I also do
so many side texts. No, I know you. I literally
the very first text Monday, October sixth, Hell, we should
have a chili hang night, Yes when Tina, I have
lots of free time. Ginny is gone this weekend, I said,
Tina said, lit for like what these other weekends? Then

(02:11):
you time in chime in. I can do next Saturday
and the first weekend in November.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
So actually, so you did say that the very first
tax i ate. But I think what the confusion was
was the fact that, like, you had a whole plan
for white chicken chili, and we hadn't discussed like who
was going to make a chili or do like that.
So I think that's where when I then texted Tina.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Sorry that I made it completely easy for everyone.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
You honestly really did, because it's like I was the
one hosting and I didn't really feel like I had
to do anything. You are the one who did hold
all the hard labor.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
It wasn't that hard. It's pretty easy chili. Let me
tell you. I posted a link for that the next day.
Do you know how people clicked on that link? Two hundred? No,
like a thousand people, h wow, it was really good.
Site better they owe me some like ad Moneiously, that's
the chili that my mother in law made, and I
was like, water are so good. But Linda is the

(03:05):
kind of person that makes a salad. You could make
the salad, it would never be a Linda salad. Like
she I don't know what she does. She has this
beautiful touch. This weekend she made. And also Fred so
Fred is Persian, her husband. That's Jake's stepdad, AND's a
lot of Jake's father passed away when he was nineteen.
His parents were married until his dad passed away. Linda

(03:27):
ended up eventually meeting Fred. They've been together for years
and years and years and years, but they actually got
married like two months after Jake and I did. So anyway,
Fred's Persian and everything he cooks is also just filled
with these spices and they're so like the way he
prepares meats and stuff. It's just so good compared to
my bland ass like grilled chicken with salt and pepper
on it, you know, So this fucking chicken was And

(03:49):
she made like butternuts squash shells with like cheese and
like crusty crumbs on top guys. The woman Anyway, the
first time I ever had the chili, she made it
and was like, this is the best because usually white
chicken chili's I've had are kind of more brothy and
less creamy. This one has a whole stick of cream
cheese in it, so it's creamy. And then she adds

(04:10):
avocado slices and tortillas, and then she does hands shaved cheese.
Is why yelled at Tina, and I found out that
both of these hobos don't have a fucking cheese craater.
It's like tenna you' from wist consent. I actually thought
that at graduation every Wisconsin I received a cheese grater
and a block of cheese. Did you not hear me
say this.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I'm pretty sure a cheese grater was stolen when someone
was living at my house that I did have, because
I have zero and we used to have like two
or three.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
You did say that, I wasn't gonna bring that up.
That's okay, I don't give a shit. She is in
her get don't give a shit, era, I did. No.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I genuinely thought I had one, because Tina text me,
She's like, do you have a cheese grater.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
I go no, she goes fuck. I don't use Delicious.
It's just like wiking glassy or whatever. I have to say.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
The tortilla, little hard cheese chrips. Those set it all off.
I feel like for me, I.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Will say, Linda usually just gets the plain ones and
Tina got like the Southwest flavored ones and they were
really good. Yeah, they were good. Also, I did have
a conversation with Jake yesterday about a text you sent me,
and he thought it was the boldest move that a
human could make. Jenny blew out of Starbucks. Starbucks any
Dinah at fiftieth in France, you know the one I'm

(05:16):
talking about.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
She texted me just a photo of the Starbucks let
me know she had blown it up. I said, I
wrecked that bathroom, and I laughed because she didn't notice,
but ran above it is a business called Jenny's Nails,
and I was like, Jenny did nail it, and she's like,
I don't even notice that I didn't. So I told Jake,
Jenny blew up this bat. He's like, to blow up
a Starbucks bathroom is wild, and I why because it's

(05:39):
a single stall. Anytime there's a single stall public bathroom,
like that is the last place you want to blow
up because you know that people could be waiting. You
know that when someone walks and they know it was
you that blew it up, It's like a very intimidating
thing to blow up.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I mean, I guess I don't disagree with it, but
I almost feel like I would prefer to do that
and face the one person who might see me outside
the door versus be in one where there's multiple stalls
and someone can hear me blowing it out.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
I don't want that either, Okay.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
And to be fair, like I had just gotten done
with brunch, I had a gooda hash from ready and
just go to Red Cow's Body because I had so
I had gotten done, and I was like, I need
to go to Starbucks. And I thought I'd just be
able to get a coffee to go real quick and
like get home and do my business there. And I'm
gonna be honest, it took a really fucking long time.
I had really bad luck with everything that I did yesterday.

(06:31):
We waited fifty minutes and then ended up leaving the
place we originally went to for brunch because they told
us it would be like a twenty minute wait, but
then all the people who had reservations kept getting in
before us, and eventually I go, listen, I get it
that you have reservations, but like, are we gonna get
sad at any po year? And I was like, we
might just leave and go and I said it in
a very nice way, and I was like, we might

(06:54):
just leave and go somewhere else. She's like yeah, Like
I mean, if that's what you want to do, then
like I would say, probably do that. So wait fifty minutes.
We're all getting angry for that. Then I need to
shit my brains out. And I'm waiting for my Starbucks
in my car and I'm like, okay, it's been like
four minutes. It said it would take six minutes. Tops
I walk in, not even a shot, Like, I can
tell it's not happening anytime soon.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
And I couldn't wait anymore. So I had to. Okay,
it wasn't it was my fault. But it wasn't my fault. No, okay.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
So I really thought I was gonna be able to
make it home and I couldn't. And so Jake might
say it's a bold move. I say, it was just
nature calling, and I couldn't do anything about it.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
You know, nature was pounding on that door. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Can I say one thing going back to our little
hang on Friday night. Yeah, one of Fallen's best qualities,
in my opinion, is that when she wants to leave,
she's out the door within like sixty seconds of making
that decision, and there's no like necessarily niceties and stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
So I could tell.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I could tell you're getting like a little tired, whichh
to be fair, you guys did stay pretty late. I
was shocked that you stayed up that late because Fallon
works fucking two jobs and had been gone all day whatever.
But Fallon was like, all right, I'm gonna go whatever,
and we go upstairs, balance out the door within sixty seconds,
and I'm just like, this is so nice. Everyone else
just puts us around lingers. Falin grabbed her soup, grabbed

(08:13):
a cookie to go for Jake, and was out. And
same with Tino too. Tina's kind of like that. But
it's just I just swear like love all of.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
My other friends.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
If anyone else is listening, I love you guys, But
there's always just such a lingering goodbye, and I know
it's the Minnesota goodbye, but it's still like it's not
necessarily the Minnesota goodbye. It's just like you go slow. Yeah,
you just like you physically are walking slow. Fallin has nothing.
There's a pep in her steps. She's out the door. Yeah,
and it's amazing fun. Thank you, thank you for acknowledging that. Yeah,

(08:41):
I thought you were going to say what I do,
which Jake also dubs my trade.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
My trademark is that there is not a conversation I
have with a group of people or friends that I
don't eventually go, so, what are your hopes and dreams
with over the next year and a half or five years?
I always ask something along those lines because I just like,
I think I even shared that I did that at
my Abby's bachelorette party, where I made everyone do that,
and I think that some people like catches them off

(09:09):
guard and they hate it right, like they're like, I
don't think like the one friends I said, they were like,
I only think about what's happening this week. I am
such a dreamer that I'm just constantly thinking of things,
and so I don't know, I feel like it's a
really good way to have because you know, a lot
of like you get through like the what's going on
day to day things with your friends, but like I

(09:31):
always want to know my friends on like kind of
a deeper level. Like I went up to like the
other day, Bijorn, he's our assistant producer on the Jason Show,
and I was like, Bijorn, do you want to do
TV forever? And like, I think it really caught him
off guard because like we don't really have deep conversations necessarily,
Like Jason and I've had a few, but there aren't
like a ton of deep conversations, and I think it's

(09:52):
caught them off guard. But I'm like, you know, I
feel like, obviously there's so much more to a person
than their surface level stuff. And but yeah, it's so.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Valin asked us that night, what in a year and
a half, where do we want to be? I think
that's what you said, right.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
And I think we were all at kind of very
different places.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Yes, super super different to an extent. Mine was very
general and Tina was pretty specific about like one thing.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Yeah, I did tell Jake briefly, like a little bit
about I always tell Jake everything clearly, obviously, but I
was telling him a little bit about you know, your
desire to do more travel and like solo travel and stuff,
and and you've talked about this on the show before,
like the dream of like well could I do that
like as a full time job at some point? And

(10:43):
I said, I told him, I go. I told Jenny.
I was like, you know what, I realized, Jenny. I
feel like you are doing it. You just don't realize it.
I know you're not like in Europe and Africa for
a long period of time. But I was like, she is,
she has done so much and like and he goes,
he sat back in he was like, you know what, family,
He's like, that's really true. He's like she really is,

(11:03):
Like she should really be proud of that. Like she
really is like actually like doing what she wants to
do but still has like the full time income behind it.
And I was like, yeah, I was like I think that,
Like she like maybe like looks past, like the trips
in Minnesota's like those don't really count necessarily because it's
not like going to the mountains or different things. But
I'm like, she really is I feel like doing like

(11:26):
living out her dream to a degree without even giving
herself the credit for it.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yeah, no, I mean I do agree. I think in
the last like six ish months, I've taken advantage of
every opportunity I could, which hasn't been a ton because
like life gets busy, But I have gone out in
my van every weekend that I've had free, and it's
only been a few times, but that's really how my
schedule worked out to be. I mean, in the summer,
everyone's always busy on weekends and stuff.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
So look at this, like you also went to Iceland,
you did an Upper Peninsula trip which was really cool.
You're getting ready to go to Morocco, and that's like
even just this year kick off the beginning of the year,
which doesn't count technically get seen as a Dominican Republic wedding,
but like you can figure out some things there too
if you want. And then like you're going to go
to Bali, and like those are just and that's like

(12:13):
just pre planned for next year stuff. But I feel
like there's a lot in there. Yeah, for sure, So
they're definitely there. Definitely is And I do anticipate probably
going up to the up and the winter to go
snowboard at Mount Bohemia and bringing the van with me
to that, but I mean it is true. I do
think that I am. I mean, I literally did not

(12:35):
travel in my twenties. None of this started happening until
the last like three or four years. So I guess
if I do look at it, then Jake's right, I
have been actually.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Doing a lot of those things. But yeah, I don't
even know if we brought up that I was going
to Morocco. By the way, we won't have a new
episode next week. I can't remember if we talked about it.
I don't think we have because I have been a
little bit like pulling back on bringing it up.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Well, you also if you want me to remove them, no,
that's fine. I was also like, I you last week,
you had just booked it, Yeah, and you weren't even
a thousand percent positive you were going to do it
because it was still possible that you could like refund
it or if you didn't, you wouldn't lose that much
money because it was like such a crazy flight deal. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I booked it, and then I did cancel it right away,
within twenty four hours or twenty three hours in I
cancel it, and then two days later the flight deal
was still going on, and I booked it again, and
I gave myself another twenty four hours, and I did
a lot of research. And the reason I say that
is because I am doing the trip alone, and I
think that there's a lot of things out there that

(13:35):
make certain countries look really really bad or unsafe for women.
But really that's like very specific issues. It's like the
same as saying that Minneapolis is like a death track. Yeah, whatever,
And so I just did a lot of research about
being a solo female and it is a very different country.
It is like a patriarchal, conservative country. And so yes,

(13:58):
I have realized that I will most likely deal with
a lot of cat calling and maybe like some not maybe,
probably a lot of unwanted male attention. But I also
read on what to do and how to handle it,
and that it's a lot of people who are really nice.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
That's just like their culture.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Unfortunately, so there was part of me for a while
that thought I might chicken out. I mean, I could
still chicken out. I leave Saturday, but I don't plan
on it. I've booked some things I can't refund. Yeah,
I've done crazy research. I have mapped out everything because
a lot of the things I read is that, like
it's kind of hard to navigate a couple of the
cities because they're like these imperial cities that have alleyways

(14:39):
and whatever. And so I've just done a lot of
things to be prepared, and I think a lot of
people who travel are not prepared travelers, and so their
experiences are very different than mine. But I am super excited.
I did tell you and Tina this, I think Friday
night that I booked places to stay that are super cute,
because you can get a place to stay that's decent

(14:59):
for like forty dollars a night.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
There.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yeah, I spent like eighty or ninety dollars a night
to get the really acute places so that if I
feel like I just want to be in the safety
of the place i'm staying at, then I can go
back and I'll love it because it's super cute. But anyways, yes,
I'm going there, and we won't have a new episode
next week because I'm off all next week.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
By the way, I was going to recommend this app
too that I sent to you anyone who I does
solo travel, So I sent it to Jenny. I was
it's funny because I was like, we had dinner at
my mother in law's Saturday, and we were kind of split.
She didn't have like her Thanksgiving setup going, so we
were kind of split into two groups and I missed
out a lot. My uh, Jake's stepbrother Michael, he went

(15:38):
to Japan by himself, like, and so he was talking
about it. I was like kind of half eavesdropping but
staying in my conversation. But then I heard him talk
about this app, and I go, Michael is like, what's
that app? Because this could be really helpful to Jenny.
But it's called you probably haven't friend of travel buddy.
I thought, no Mad Traveler. Oh yeah, no Mad Traveler.

(15:59):
So what he did is like he said, so it's
four solo travelers. It picks up on your location, and
it's almost like it creates, he said, like a text
chain between people in that location. And so like one
night he was like, Hey, I'm in this area, like
I think I'm gonna go out to some bars. Does
anyone want to go? And then like people chimed in

(16:19):
like they wanted to go, and so it just built
in other solo travelers, Like I don't know, I thought. Anyway,
he said he really liked it. I think he only
used it like once or twice for like going out
to bars, yeah, while he was in Japan. But I
was like, oh, I'm gonna send that to Jenny, and
then if any other solo traveler was listening and they
wanted something like that, that might be a hot tip

(16:41):
to like meet people, because it's kind of like you
had mentioned that, like some of these places you're staying
are known to have other solo femail travelers, and you
were hoping like maybe you'd get to meet someone and
like you could maybe meet up to do a couple
of things together if it worked out. So we also
booked a trip randomly so I always save a chunk
of and Jenny usually is too a chunk of time

(17:02):
over the holidays for my vacation so I can get
like a true refresh reset. And every year I'm like,
we should have booked something. This is too long. We
should have done something. And so I was like, we
should go to New York because Jason just went and
I was like, we haven't been in New York in years.
I want to go back to New York. And I
was like, I think we could take all of She's six.
I think it would be fine, and he Jake was like,

(17:24):
I mean sure, Like his work is a lot slower
in December two because he does a lot of work
with like kind of like government police departments things like that,
and they're kind of like shut down over the holidays. Yeah,
so they're not making business deals then. So anyway, I said, okay, cool.
I look online and the flights were actually really cheap

(17:45):
to go, like direct flight Delta, and I was like,
oh hell yeah. So then we were just like screw it,
let's do it. And Dylan is so excited all of
course has no idea, like okay, cool, And so I
had her watch Eloise at Christmas time, the Little because
all of his middle name is Eloise and the do
you know the Eloise story? I don't, So they're like
little kids books. And she lives in the Plaza in

(18:07):
New York. So even at the Plaza, which is the
Home Alone hotel. If you're like what hotel is that,
it's the Home Alone one. And they even have like
an Eloise t you can have like high ta and
it's Eloise themed. So I'm going to try to get
reservations for that. But I don't know if I can
because I don't know how like popular it is, and
I think you have to book like thirty days out.
I hate stuff like that, but I also love it.

(18:29):
So anyway, I was like looking for shows that we
could go to and different things. It's gonna be a
very different trip because obviously with kids, very different. Yeah,
And I was like, like I love going to places
like Caroline's or a comedy seller because you just like
get the best comedians. You don't know what celebrities are
going to pop up. There's no way we're gonna be
able to do that. I want to go to some shows,

(18:50):
and I was like, I have to find one that
all of could actually go to. So first I was like, all,
just take Dylan and we go to stranger things and
Jake can stay with all of And then I was like, oh,
they have a Michael Jackson show and all of Love's music,
and Jake loves Michael Jackson music, and I was like,
maybe we all four could actually go to that and
it would be like just entertaining because the music is
so good. So I think we're going to try that.

(19:11):
And then I already like I've already planned out meals
and everything. We're just such a food obsessed family. Jake's
had a pizza place on his list for so long,
and I get so I go to the pizza He's like,
everyone's saying it's great. I go to the pizza places page.
First person that they have penned is Dave Portnoy. Now
I'm a very openly I hate Barstool Sports because I

(19:35):
know that people love it, but I feel like he's
just born on such a misogynistic I think that they've expanded,
but it was so misogynistic when it started. And there
are like these deplorable early interviews of Dave Portnoy. Things
he said about women like disgusting and I think unforgivable.
But people have just forgiven him, especially now that he
loves Taylor Swift or whatever. But I'm like, I will,

(19:57):
I don't. I was like, really, Jake, did you pick
this because of him? He's like no, but I mean
he does say it is like a night out of ten.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
I was like, all right, but he just if you
don't know, Dave Portnoy does these piece of reviews where
it's like good one bite, everyone knows the rules, whatever,
and he truly does rate pretty crazy.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
He did Black sheep.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Here I think once when he was here, and maybe
like one or two other places, But I mean, yeah,
you're not wrong, He's not. I did not see a
lot of the really shitty things that he's said up
until recently because I have actually followed him and I
thought he like actually does a pretty good job calling
people out for their shit on social media. But I

(20:39):
did not see some of the really shitty things until
recently about him.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
That's what the internet does. It brings me to lie
all of your past, which is, you know, good and bad.
I think I think there should be room to grow. Like,
I'm not saying I didn't say awful things when I
was younger, but I'm saying that if you ever see
the videos of things he said, like they are, I
don't know how you get. They're just so unforgivable. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
So I did something for the first time this weekend.
And I debated whether I would share this or not,
but whatever, I'm going to I shared my bed with
someone outside of someone who used to sleep in it
for the first time.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
Never night. I had an overnight, Yeah, had a little overnight's.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Stay the dog's day. It was just with the dog.
It was there was nobody else in it. It was
not just kidding. Yeah, yeah, No, I had an overnight
and the dog also slept on the bed with us.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
But can I ask a question, when you went to
that puppy yoga class where you by yourself? No, I wasn't.
Were you with a girlfriend? No, I wasn't. Were you
with the person that stayed the night your place? I
was okay? So I also, I know this because I
made her send me a photo of him, and I
was like, because all I've seen is one photo she
showed me, like twenty years ago of his Instagram. It

(21:54):
was actually the guy. If you go way back, I
think she actually talked about someone sending her respectful DM. Yeah,
and it was him. It was him. And I know
you guys have a name for him on your on
the morning show, but I know his real name, which
I want share. But I was like, I have never

(22:14):
seen actual photos really of this person. I was like,
send me a picture of his face, send me and
she sent like a video. No, yeah, we did do
puppy yoga together.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
And then I will just say that I I have
a king bed, so it is more than big enough
for two people. But I do feel as though I
have fallen back into the habit of like I don't
want to share my bed with anyone.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
It's hard. Well leave your dog at.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
The bottom of the bed, which I'm pretty sure and
she fucking I love her, if you're listening, I love her.
But she did like wake us up in the middle
of the night like twice by crawling in between us.
And I told him straight up, I'm like, you know,
you cuddle whatever I go, I can't. I'm rolling to
the other side. Yeah, this is me, this is how

(23:01):
I am. Okay, this is yes, this is me. And
he was fine with that, like that was no problem.
But I just feel like, I don't know, I'm such
a flipper. I flip around a ton in my sleep,
Like it just felt like I was stuck. Yeah, and
I woke up and just felt so not rested, and
that is not my vibe. Luckily it was a weekend, so.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
I think it's also like when I first sleep with
people too, I can't sleep because I I'm afraid I'm
gonna snore, I'm afraid i'm gonna fart, I'm afraid of
like all these things, and like I get like I
have terrible sleep, like early on, like when I would
like have sleepovers people, but then that's like not even
having a dog in the mix that I'll like, you're
not used to having a dog in your bed. That'll

(23:43):
wake you up. And the dog was also probably a
little uncomfortable nervous too, because it's not it's normal. She
was right at home.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
She was home she I mean, she's felt right at
home for a long time because basically every time he's over,
she comes to, which I love because she's amazing. But yeah,
so anyways, I felt like tired, and I'm so happy
that we did that on a weekend because I almost
had him sleepover during the week last week, and I'm
so happy. Yeah kidding, but I do realize I have

(24:14):
to get back into being used to sharing a bed
with someone if I do get into a top relationship. Yeah,
but yeah, I definitely woke up and I was like,
oh man, I would have slept so much better on
the bed by myself. But I also liked not sleeping
in the bed by myself. Yeah, Like I liked having
that warm body next to me.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Did he snore?

Speaker 2 (24:35):
There were a couple moments where I could tell just
I think it was when he was on his back
because I was puddling him at one point and he
started and I go, oh, no, yeah, this is not
But then I think once he rolled to the side,
he was fine. And have you ever considered mouth taping
like I do to help you get a deeper sleep?
I have.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
I don't know why I always forget to do it, though,
but I should make a note. And I went to
I was at like a dance mom meetup, and one
of the moms I like, she's a veterinarian, like she
had a surgery. She's like so cool, and her daughter
is like kind of who all of has become besties with,
and she's just lovely. But she was like, she's like,

(25:17):
I've been having a really bad sleep lately, and like
her husband's like been snoring a lot. And I could
tell like she wasn't like she was. It looked like
she she didn't look at haust as she like her
expression showed I need some sleep, And I brought up
the mouth tape and then everyone's like you know what what?
And then there's one other girl that I'm friends with
that like Emily, and her husband's a dentist and she's like, yep,

(25:39):
we use it blah blah blah, and the girl's like,
oh my gosh, and I go, I know it sounds crazy.
I was like, how funny is this? My trainer Jerome
recommended it like eight years ago and I called him
a sociopath. And now it's actually trendy, right, So I
was like, I think Jake says, I don't snore with it.
But anyway, she texted me like two days later and
she's like, you guys, he had been holding out. He

(26:00):
had actually done research on mouth taping and just never
done it. And she got like the first good night
of sleep she'd had and forever because he mouth taped
and I did warn and she's like, aside from a
little drool, I was like in the beginning, for some reason,
like I think it's because my mouth wasn't used to it.
It had to figure out its placement. I was very
droolly the first like few days of it, and I

(26:20):
was like, this is weird. And then I feel like
and Emily was like, I bet now, Fallon, even if
you didn't wear mouth tape, your mouth would stay shut
because you've like kind of trained it. Well, I'm not
going to.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Risk it because do you use just regular tape or
do you get snack?

Speaker 1 (26:33):
I get specific. So initially I was using a three
m medical tape so like it wouldn't rip and pull.
But I do feel like that was good. But I
do feel like I was more slobbery with it. So
I order the cheapest version I can find where it
looks like an oval. I don't know the ones look
like lips. I don't do the one that has a
hole in the middle. It's just they're pink and they
look an oval and it just goes perfectly over my lips.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Well, my cheap ass just bought like a huge pack
of scotch from Costco.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
No, Jennifer, I just use that. I'm gonna try. I'm
gonna start. You can try it, but scotch tape is
your It's gonna come off so quickly with your wet
fucking mouth. Also, you don't need a lot, just if
you're gonna plan it at home. You don't need the
tape to go like long outside of your mouth. You
literally need like one inch to go over the center
of your lips to hold it together. Okay, I do

(27:24):
not think scotch tape is gonna work. It's you're gonna
do strong enough every night. Now, yeah, I like six months.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
I just know that you definitely forgot it for Tina's
bachelorette party and you and I shared a room and
you were like, I'm sorry, Johnny, you're stuck with me.
And you did store like a teeny bit at one
point when I think you were on your back or something.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Oh my back is whack, I will sing. Also, I
was telling Jenny, I said, I wanted to say that
we went to last night the Orpheum had a Twilight concert.
Now I've done this one other time where I saw
Home Alone with the Minnesota Minnesota Orchestra and they play
the entire score. Imagine Home Alone. John William's the thing
genius he is in that score. You don't even know

(28:01):
that it's not the movie you're watching because the orchestra
is so phenomenal. So last night was different. They showed Twilight.
They had like a band, and so it wasn't like
the Mensaid orchestra. Obviously, the guy who was singing so
good when he started going, oh, everyone's like so when
they come out, they encourage you. The woman's like go crazy,

(28:23):
like yell out, scream if you see someone you like
or whatever. I was like, oh okay, Like I didn't
know what was gonna be, so like it was so fun.
So like as soon as like Edward came on the scene,
everyone's like like losing their mind schearing. When Charlie the
dad comes on, Everyone's like, daddy, yes, And it was
it was so fun. We did leave it like intermission

(28:45):
because we're lame. But I was like, I know how
this ends. But Jake had never seen Twilight, and I
just loved watching the cringe factor, like when Edward runs
through the woods and stuff, and Jake's like, oh my god,
and like the various lines they say. Because Holt and
I did that little famous scene of like I Know
what you are but made in Minnesota and it like
had like a million plus views. So Jake had seen

(29:07):
us our version of that, but net for the real version,
and so he's like, is that scene in US? I
was like, that one is, but not the one we
just did, the like where the hell you been Loca.
That one's in the second movie. So Colt and his
wife were there and they were like, Jake, you have
to go watch them all now. And then Colt revealed
the first time you watched Twilight. Jen made him. They
were like so young, and he like went and had

(29:29):
rented it from an actual movie store. Yeah, And he
left Gen's and went to the movie store and got
the next four and the guy was like, oh, the
guy remembered Colt from earlier. It's like, oh, having a
Twilight marathon and Colts like, Yeah, my girlfriend's really into it,
but was going on to watch vibes. That's so funny,
I know.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
I also just like can't believe that it's been out
for that long, that twenty years.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
I don't know, that's like, God, that's so insane. I
think it's twenty years since the books went out, and
so the movies coming up on the twentieth. Yeah, and
I read the books, I believe, or maybe I saw
the first movie and then I liked it so much
so then I started reading exactly what I did. But
I feel like I got.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
To go rewatch those movies too, because it's been so long,
and I just want to like laugh at the cringiness.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
All of you will, absolutely and they because there's like
a very big moment that happens in like the final film.
There's a battle scene. Do you remember that part? Yes,
I do, and it was the whole audience like they
freak out, and Jen's like, you need to record Jake's
reaction because there are so few people left you don't know,

(30:38):
and she's like, you need to go like watch Jake anyway,
So I'm gonna have to do that. Yeah, You'll have
to let us know how it goes. I will. Jenny
is off, like we said like on Monday, but we will.
I actually was looking at this, how many episodes do
we have left for the year, So.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
We'll be back The week of Thanksgiving will be our
next episode, so we'd be back then.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
And then I think I have five more for the year. Yeah,
if we do the twenty second, which I think we
agreed we would.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Yes, we did agree we would do that because I
will be around the way that the holidays follow this
year with Christmas and New Year's It's not like ideal
for the iHeart holiday schedule because basically we have to
be back on the second, which is a Friday, and
then it's like, why do they do that? I don't know,
but I would prefer that, Like they almost made us

(31:27):
work on like the twenty four well not the twenty fourth,
that's aggressive, but like make us work another day so
we can just have that Friday off.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Nobody else is back at work. That's a lie. I
know a lot of people work, but anyways, the most
people aren't like think about like it's it's well known
in our industry that listening to radio is way down
over the holidays because people are out of their regular routines.
Yeah they're not like going to school and work in
the same way some people are, but the average like

(31:54):
nine to five person isn't right. So yeah, good times anyways.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
But we'll be back in two weeks and Jenny will
have some Morocco stories. Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna
I feel like it won't be like super crazy, but
I'm just excited to see like a different culture and
just I'm allbessed with like the architecture and the like
design of everything in Morocco already from my research, so
I'm pumped.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Okay, Well, you can't do nude photo shoots there.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
I was only planning on doing that on like the
rooftop of my reads that's what they're called. Well, they
have hotels too, but reads are like the main things
that people say. But I figured like it would be
fine as long as like nobody else was around.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Unlike other trips, I will need daily check ins and updates.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
Oh don't worry, show fucking check in no matter what.
Because she texted me yesterday and goes, who you at
Redcow with? And I'm like, I can't you know what,
I can't handle.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
You people now send me the videos that people make
that are jokey videos of the creepy friend who tracked
through other friends location and they always someone sent one
yesterday and like you and Jenny, that's literally why they
sent that, and that's why I immediately went and looked
at your location contexted do that. It inspired me. But
still I like that people think of me in that way.

(33:05):
It's creepy, all right. Love you so much by

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
