Speaker 1 (00:00):
Interns, John and your morning show Habby Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Friends.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Welcome to the show, Interns, John, It's my name, Sauce. Hello, Hello, Rose, Hi, Hi,
Eric Seer. Guide to Hoodie and Savera as well. Nine
ninety three three eight to text. You can always DM
T at Wymus Radio. I saw this in living in
this area. I was not surprised at all. Majority of
Americans think that a six figure income is no longer
a sign of wealth.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, I don't think it is anymore, unfortunately, well.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Especially cause I just pulled up this the like the
current stats in DC, one hundred k has a value
of forty eight thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah, which is crazy. It makes sense in Arlington, VA.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
No, don't tell me one hundred k has its value
of fifty three thousands.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
I only need to be Saturday.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I told her. Sorry.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
When my first semi contract to come out here from
Des Moines, I thought I was rich. Yeah, I remember
tell my parents like, guys, I'm I'm rich. Yeah, And
then I saw rent was twenty five hundred dollars a
month ago. I'm just as broke as I was before.
I'm just making more money.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Because my brother was asking me how much my rent is.
And I'm like, you aren't in Arlington, Kolby, you live
near Columbia. Yeah, why don't because he works in Columbia.
So I'm like, why wouldn't you look over there?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
It's not great, Yeah, it's not great. So they say
that a lot of a third of six figure earners
describe themselves as financially stressed. Yeah, a lot living paycheck
to paycheck. Yeah, yeah, especially if you're in a big city.
I think for DC it's it's the taxes is probably
the big part. And also the cost for sure. But
like if you're making one hundred k and the big
chunk thirty grand, the top goes taxes, whatever, it is, like,

(01:26):
that's that's tough.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Also depends on how your transportation everything, because sure, I
live in Virginia, work in Maryland. But you know, I'm
going through DC over the weekend and I was going
to stop for gas, but I stopped myself because gas
is cheaper in Virginia. I don't know if it's like
I could google it, I don't care to. I just
know that it's cheaper. So it was four oh four,
my regular Saturday, and I was like, I don't think.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
So they will last a lifetime.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
In Orlington, who was like two sixty five and I
was like okay.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
They also said half of people said they need at
least double their salary to feel financially secure.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, I would love. I would love to be like
fifteen grandy. You gotta be sick, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, it was it would be nice. One day you
can maybe you started getting some takeout more one day.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, one day. It's an intern Johnny Morning Show intern

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
