Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now on Colorado's Morning News Sunday, we'll be marking ten
days since the Broncos won over the Saints. Now it's
all eyes on the Carolina Panthers. One and six for
the season for them and coming off that blowoff loss
last weekend. Joining me now on the KWA Common Spirit
Health Hotline his voice of the Broncos, Dave Logan. Dave,
thanks for your time, Thanks for your time. As always, Well,
it looks like the Panthers are really going to be
(00:21):
shaking off that forty to seven loss that we saw
to the Commanders. Do you think this could actually make
them a little more hungry or just looking for some
redemption coming up on Sunday, even though the Broncos still
are very very much favored to win on Sunday, Hey.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Gena, I mean probably so. They're not a very good
team obviously, and Bryce Young is going to be back
playing quarterback, or at least it looks that way. But
I think this is a game that, I mean, the
Broncos have to make certain that they get off to
a fast start. And when you play a team in
the NFL that is struggling, a team that is desperately
(01:01):
looking for a win. What you do not want to
do is let them hang around early in the game
or let them get ahead of the game, because it
infuses confidence into them, and that's the last thing you
want for a team that is in their positions. So,
I mean, I think Denver is a better football team.
They have to start winning some games at home, and
(01:23):
ideally you would love to see them get off to
a good start and dispel any sort of idea the
Panthers may have that they can go on the road
to win.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Hey, David CMN sports anchor Brandon christ All, nice to
chat with you. You know, to that end le Broncos
this year against a couple of bad teams they've played,
it was kind of a JV team there in New Orleans,
and the Raiders certainly banged up and deal with Devonte
Adams deal all the time. They took care of business
where maybe they didn't in recent years against teams they
were favored against or.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Maybe overmatched or that they overmatched. So what do you
think has changed this year?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
I'm sorry I hearing a turned out.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Who is this again, Brandon Kristall, I do morning, Nice
to talk to you.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Nice, Nice to hear you as well. And now, honestly,
I forgot your question.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Now, just look, they've they've taken care of business against
lesser teams so far.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Why has that changed you think?
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Well, I mean, I think here here would be my thing.
I don't know why it's changed. I mean, the Broncos
have played good football on the road, right, and they've
beaten what I think are some pretty good teams. I
know the Jets have struggle, but I still think the
Jets are pretty good team. Tampa is a pretty good team,
(02:42):
and so but they haven't played good football at home.
And this has been going back, and I've said this
for well since then, since the twenty fifteen season, or
at least the sixteen season, they've been under five hundred
at home. And if they're really ever going to start
getting back to relevancy, to be in a playoff caliber
team to all those things that Broncos fans and the
(03:04):
organization wants, playing important games in December, they're going to
have to find a way to start winning some home games.
So that's why I think this is a This is
a critical game. You've got two row games coming up
at Baltimore and at Kansas City. Both those teams are
this year are elite teams once again, so you need
(03:25):
to find ways to win games at home, and to me,
this is an ideal opportunity coming up Sunday.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Dave pivoting a little bit here, but this is when
sports news becomes news news. As we heard the news
of Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds injured in a shooting
a week ago, two suspects following him another man from
a strip club shooting him alongside seuthbound I twenty five
in Bellevue. Your reaction to all this because he was
here in Denver when the team was out in New Orleans.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, you know, obviously. I mean I don't know anything
about that story. Anytime you uh, anytime you have somebody
shoot at you and it's it's a bad deal. I
mean I think it's I think it's so important that
uh not to any any chance you get, not to
(04:15):
put yourself in a situation that that things like like this,
unfortunately could happen. I was just really happy that that
he was that he was okay, I mean okay to
the point of, you know, not not seriously injured. And
I say that without knowing exactly it said the story,
I saw said he was shot in the back of
the head. So I mean, I'm hoping he's okay, but
(04:37):
it's it's it's a tough deal. And I think NFL
players have to understand that. You know, you've got to
be so so careful, you know where you are and
who you're with and uh and even then things like this,
unfortunately in our in our world today can happen. So
let's hope Josh is going to be okay and able
to get back in the field soon.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Ay, Dave, I'll give it back to back of the game,
only because we saw where the Broncos were already a
seven and a half point favorite. The Andy Dalton news
comes out, he has the car accident where he and
his family Thankfullary okay, but here it's his finger. So Bryce, young,
former number one pick, is thrust back into the lineup
and now it's a ten point spread and then may
keep going the other direction, you know, in the Broncos favor,
(05:18):
making him a bigger favorite. So what have you seen
from Bryce? And I asked VJ, and he, you know,
he gave some complimentary things about he's shown that he
was the number one pick.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
I like c J.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Stradmore coming out. Maybe not as much as you liked
Cardell Jones, but I still I still like Stroud Moore
than Young.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
But what do you see with Young and do they
do they do anything?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Well?
Speaker 4 (05:37):
When he's in there, digged.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
What you're welcome, make sure you tip your bartender waiters
on the way out. I would say this. I think
he is a he's a good athlete. He's much much
more likely to escape the pocket than Andy Dalton. I
think in Alabama he proved he can throw on the
run as well as be a pocket guy. I would
worry about Bryce Young, and you know, you look at him.
(06:04):
What he's done hasn't been that impressive so far. Lost
his starting position was the first pick in the draft.
I get all that has absolutely nothing to lose and
everything to gain. So I think if you had to
say one thing for the Broncos, make sure you are
consistent and responsible in your pass rush lanes. Make sure
(06:25):
this guy operates from the pocket and does not get
outside the pocket where he can create some big plays.
But I mean, I think it's going to be a
game again. The Broncos just have to find a way
to win.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
On Sunday, We'll see how it goes again. The Broncos
taking on the Carolina Panthers Sunday and power Field at
Mile High Our KWA coverage will begin at eight a m. Sunday,
kickoff at two twenty five. Voice of the Broncos, It's
Dave Logan. Thanks Dave.
